  And let me tell you, it was the coolest experience because I got to see Ariel

  go on more rides because she was taller, and we got to hear Noah laugh.

  And most importantly, Noah went on a ride for the very first time by himself.

  We are kicking off August with family of friends, loved ones, and memories.

  Yes, that's what we did yesterday. I got an opportunity to take my kids to the Ulster County Fair.

  And let me tell you something, they do a great job. They do really do,
• 2:39
  they really do good, do a good job.
• 2:41
  Ariel got to go on most of the rides because she was taller.
• 2:45
  Last year, she wasn't tall enough and her heart was broken many times when they
• 2:50
  told her she couldn't ride a ride.
• 2:52
  But this year it was like every ride was, was open to her with the exception
• 2:57
  of the adult rides, of course, which by the way, no way I went on any of those didn't want to get sick.

  But the cool thing about, you know, going out with your children is experiencing
• 3:07
  their laughter, their joy.
• 3:10
  And it made me think about when I was a kid and I used to be on a ride and I'd
• 3:14
  wave to my dad or I waved to my mom and I'd see them wave back at me. I get it now.
• 3:20
  You know, I totally understand, you know, being on the other side of the coin
• 3:25
  there and watching your kids experience that joy, it's the coolest feeling in the world.
• 3:31
  For them to smile back at you and they get off the ride and they say,
• 3:35
  daddy, this was the coolest ride ever.
• 3:37
  Or my most favorite part, believe it or not, out of all of those rides,
• 3:42
  out of all those moments, was getting into the truck and my daughter looking
• 3:47
  up and saying, this was the best day ever. Thank you, daddy.
• 3:52
  Oh, melted my heart. Creating memories.
• 3:56
  You don't have to be a parent to create a memory you don't have to be in a non-relationship
• 4:02
  you don't have to be alone to not create a memory you can create a memory.

  Every single moment you can relive a memory you can create old memories and
• 4:13
  make them new again how do we do that.

  First of all, we think back when we were younger.
• 4:21
  We think back when one of our loved ones was here with us. We think back and
• 4:25
  we remember the moments that made us laugh, that made us cry.
• 4:30
  Maybe you could cry. Maybe it was a cry that you needed.

  It's in those moments that we get to relive the good times, sometimes the bad,
• 4:40
  sometimes even the ugly.

  But what I want to hone in on today is the good times.

  If you have a memory with a loved one, if you have a memory when you were a
• 4:51
  child, I want you to think back.
• 4:54
  I want you to take a few minutes, pause.

  I want you to pause this episode right now.

  And when you're done with your memory, I want you to come back.

  So to close out, as I'm walking Cody this morning, to close out today's episode,

  I want to share with you a memory of my childhood that while I was at the Ulster
• 6:27
  County Fair, I was able to relive.
• 6:30
  I remember being on this ride called Tip Top.
• 6:34
  It was like one of those saucers that spun around if you chose to spin around.
• 6:39
  And every once in a while, the thing would go and you would go up in the air,
• 6:44
  up in the air, up in the air. It was a really cool ride.
• 6:49
  And I remember choosing not to spin around because I was just so excited that
• 6:54
  I was tall enough to be on the ride.
• 6:56
  What I didn't know was even if you didn't spin it around every once in a while,
• 7:01
  the momentum would spin you around.
• 7:03
  And I remember feeling scared in that moment, thinking, oh my goodness,
• 7:07
  why would I get on this ride? What am I, crazy?
• 7:11
  But getting off the ride, I remember running over and getting into my parents'
• 7:16
  arms and feeling that sense of peace, knowing that by hugging them,
• 7:22
  everything was going to be all right.
• 7:23
  Sure enough, years later, I went back and I rode that ride and I didn't get
• 7:31
  the same fulfillment at an older age that I did when I was younger.
• 7:38
  Kind of interesting. That's today's episode, Creating Memories.

  Think about that today. And I have a challenge for each and every one of you.
