- 0:51SPEAKER_05: So it could be twenty.
- 0:53SPEAKER_05: It could be it depends how you want to cut and cut slicer.

- 1:01SPEAKER_05: So we're back.
- 1:02SPEAKER_05: It's just me and Gareth this time.

- 1:04SPEAKER_05: Because Gareth was busy.
- 1:07SPEAKER_03: I had I had my gastral issues as as Tom Stade put it, I was doing what are you fucking about?
- 1:13SPEAKER_03: What are you right?
- 1:14SPEAKER_03: Well, bye.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: Sorry, everybody.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: Fucking just wives walking in and out of rooms.
- 1:20SPEAKER_03: No professionalism here.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: Yes, no, I am back.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm fully fit match fit again after my gastral issues.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: Or as the wonderful Tom Stade put it, taking fat shits.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: That's I'm all better now, cured.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: So we're we're back uh cured.
- 1:36SPEAKER_05: Cure I mean like a fine ham.
- 1:45SPEAKER_05: So we're back in the last where we left off for your character.
- 1:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: What what was going on was we were in the courtroom.
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: You you were Stacy Genefley, who just lost a very strenuous court battle.
- 2:01SPEAKER_05: Well, not lost, true.
- 2:02SPEAKER_03: Very unfair, yeah, very a very unfair, harsh draw.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: And I remember now that you've brought it up, I remember my rage.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: I remember my rage at you.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: You annoyed me that day.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: But it wasn't me.
- 2:13SPEAKER_03: You annoyed me most days.
- 2:15SPEAKER_03: It was the dishes.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: It wasn't the yeah, anyway, yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: So and then there was that big Shrek like entrance that you had not yet made, but you were Planning.
- 2:26SPEAKER_05: You were planning to make.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 2:28SPEAKER_05: So where like the last episode was the rats came up through the sewer and handed Stacey Glen Efflear a note.
- 2:34SPEAKER_03: Yes, so he did.
- 2:35SPEAKER_05: But what happens is and this is news to you.
- 2:39SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 2:40SPEAKER_05: You're look you're standing on the airship next to Fanny's big wind, and you look over the horizon and you see a massive cloud of grey smoke, and uh you can see a figure kind of hovering on the top of it.
- 2:53SPEAKER_05: As you see that figure, your body starts to shudder, you start shaking uncontrollably, and then you collapse to the ground unconscious.
- 3:03SPEAKER_05: Dawn does, not Stacy Glenethley.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: Or both?
- 3:07SPEAKER_05: Dawn.
- 3:08SPEAKER_05: Dawn.
- 3:08unknown: Shit.
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: We'll get on to what happens to Stacy Glenethley.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: Whoa, what else happened to don't say that so fucking er worryingly.
- 3:18SPEAKER_03: What's happened to Stacy?
- 3:19SPEAKER_03: Stacy's fine.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Stacy that hasn't made it through this adventure.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: That's fucking horse shit.
- 3:30SPEAKER_03: You shit yourself one day one day and just everything goes to shit.
- 3:37SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Well that's a shame.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: RIP.
- 3:41SPEAKER_03: Rips in the chat, everyone.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: Rips in the chat.
- 3:43SPEAKER_05: I'll tell you what, while you were unconscious, Fanny S big wind steered the airship into the courtroom, smashing the massive glass steam window, and Stacey was killed by sharks.
- 3:55SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: Sharks of fucking Fucking Hell.
- 4:01SPEAKER_03: Oh women drivers.
- 4:07SPEAKER_05: So sadly, we're down to Stacey, but we've still got a Don.
- 4:10SPEAKER_03: Well that's good, yeah.
- 4:12SPEAKER_05: So what happens from Don's perspective is uh he is lying on the the bow of the ship but fading into you ever seen the film Get Out?
- 4:23SPEAKER_05: I haven't.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: Well, you should watch it.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, do the reference and I I understand I understand what it's about, so I think I might understand the reference.
- 4:32SPEAKER_05: So it's like when he sat on the the The chair.
- 4:35SPEAKER_03: That's the poster.
- 4:36SPEAKER_03: I've seen the poster.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: And then he gets sucked backwards in the Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: Like Homer in the hedge.
- 4:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like that.
- 4:45SPEAKER_05: So Don is sucked backwards.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: So it's like he's being you can see, you imagine almost the the scene that you were in is like a TV screen.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: And he is being pulled further away from the TV screen and it's getting further and further away until it's gone.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: That sounds quite scary.
- 5:00SPEAKER_03: Poor Don.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: He's Is he okay?
- 5:03SPEAKER_03: You could roll an emotional.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's let's.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Twenty.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: Twenty.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: Don't actually loving it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: He's like it's like a ride for Don.
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: Well, Don's quite happy.
- 5:18SPEAKER_03: That's ace.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: That's ace.
- 5:20SPEAKER_03: So Don is uh So he's like pinging back in his seat.
- 5:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and he's loving it.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: He's like on a little room.
- 5:27SPEAKER_03: He's just like, well, how does Don?
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: I know darkness.
- 5:30SPEAKER_03: I've been living in darkness for fucking arguably 30, 40 years.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: So how how how does this make Don feel then?
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: I'll let you just explain it.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: He's excitable.
- 5:39SPEAKER_03: He's k he's kind of up for it.
- 5:41SPEAKER_03: If he's just in pitch black, there's comfort there.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: All this other shit's been going on, he's been having a lot to deal with.
- 5:49SPEAKER_03: Like a lot since Dawn landed on that fucking beach, his life has been going at a very fast pace.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: A very fast pace.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: And it's been about survival and attacking and where's his finding his next drink from?
- 6:02SPEAKER_03: There's been a lot of shit.
- 6:05SPEAKER_03: Dawn's had a lot of focuses and a lot of things to try and achieve and do.
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: This is probably the first time in like what?
- 6:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, how many days has this been?
- 6:15SPEAKER_03: Like two weeks, a month?
- 6:16SPEAKER_06: I think we're saying it's a week.
- 6:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, about a week.
- 6:19SPEAKER_03: Sort of fucking hell, that's intense for a week.
- 6:21SPEAKER_03: 20 episodes equals seven days.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: Uh it's been go, go, go, hell to leather.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: He is weirdly, it's like the the saying when you hit rock bottom, some people feel good there because they're like, can it get any worse?
- 6:35SPEAKER_03: I think Don is genuinely just buzzing that he's like, Well, I have no internal focus right now.
- 6:42SPEAKER_03: I'm in the dark.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Literally.
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: So let's just he's just made inner peace with us very quickly, going, I've got nothing to think about, nothing to see, nothing to do.
- 6:53SPEAKER_03: I'm sat down and I'm in the darkness, and I'm pinging backwards.
- 7:00SPEAKER_03: He's up for it.
- 7:01SPEAKER_03: That's good then.
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: Does that make sense?
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: It makes sense to me.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: Oh, fuck you.
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: That was a way that was a way to go.
- 7:10SPEAKER_03: It makes sense to me.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: The listeners will be going, what the fuck is he on about?
- 7:14SPEAKER_05: You put a lot of stuff in me that I don't see.
- 7:20SPEAKER_05: So I think everybody will understand what you've just said as a whole.
- 7:25SPEAKER_05: Uh so as Don is pinging backwards, he eventually comes to a stop, and in front of him he sees a door.
- 7:33SPEAKER_05: Just a wooden door, but the there was a wooden door, it's got a handle, got a keyhole.
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: Uh you look to if you were to look at the other side of it, it would just be the other side of that door.
- 7:44SPEAKER_05: It's not a door into anything, it was just a door standing alone.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: And then Don also sees Doors Don's just staring at this door, it doesn't lead to anything, and he's like, if ever there was a metaphor for my career.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: So if you Don looks behind him, what he will see is a key hanging from a string uh and then underneath it is a seesaw.
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: So if Don was to manage to get Yep, yep, yep.
- 8:22SPEAKER_05: If you want to roll something, I can tell you what more stuff of the t she wants.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: No, it is what it is, man.
- 8:31SPEAKER_03: I mean, okay, fuck it, let's just roll like is it perception or whatever?
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: What would you roll?
- 8:37SPEAKER_05: Uh perception, aye.
- 8:38SPEAKER_03: Aye.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: D twenty.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 8:42SPEAKER_03: Be good.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Seventeen?
- 8:46SPEAKER_03: Really not fucking bad at all.
- 8:48SPEAKER_05: Seventeen.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: So what am I perceiving?
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: Don can see that there is nothing around the seesaw, but he can see something like a a flitting creature moving in the darkness.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: Ah, piss.
- 9:05SPEAKER_05: Piss.
- 9:06SPEAKER_05: And it's very obvious if you were to stand uh if you were to get the seesaw someone to stand at one end of it, and then someone to stand at the other end of it, they'd be able to reach up and grab the key by going on the highest bit of it Yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_03: So Er can Don draw his short sword?
- 9:30SPEAKER_05: Okay, yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_05: So you pull out your sword?
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_03: Not fucking about.
- 9:35SPEAKER_03: Not fucking about.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 9:37SPEAKER_03: He's gonna uh Ah no, that'd be daft.
- 9:44SPEAKER_03: Don is gonna try and get on the seesaw.
- 9:48SPEAKER_05: No, okay.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: Cause fuck it, that's obviously what this little dark room wants me to do.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: It obviously wants me to go for the key.
- 9:55SPEAKER_05: Alright, so you you sat in the seesaw and it flops down, so the bit that Don sat on, it's the heaviest bit, he's now sat on the floor, the other bit is raised up.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: That's it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_03: Damn.
- 10:09SPEAKER_03: It's almost as if this is entirely how seesaws work.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: Uh Don gets off the seesaw.
- 10:17SPEAKER_05: Evens back out again, so it's just sitting kind of flat.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: Surely he's not gonna have to fucking call upon the creature to help him with a seesaw.
- 10:25SPEAKER_05: This is entirely up to Don.
- 10:27SPEAKER_05: This is Don's head Don is in.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: Don is gonna Whilst holding his sword to let the creature know to not fuck about.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: I've got a sword.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: Uh Don just yells into the abyss show yourself.
- 10:44SPEAKER_05: You hear a laugh, but it's a it's a very familiar laugh.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: It's your own laugh.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: Oh how way were you sell how way erected will fucking Don Don That's me Don calls for himself to it's too mad.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: Like any line I potentially have here is mad.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: Me come out.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: That's a mad thing to say.
- 11:21SPEAKER_05: So do you just shout Dawn?
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: So Dawn, get out of here.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: Out of the darkness you appear in front of yourself.
- 11:29SPEAKER_03: But then that's just gonna keep the seesaw an even bastard and keel.
- 11:33SPEAKER_05: Well, you've got you've got you've Is there any more to me?
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: Can I roll perception again to have a look?
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: Is there multiple names?
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: Do you want a do you want a roll perception?
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: I want to roll perception.
- 11:43unknown: Okay.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Six.
- 11:47SPEAKER_05: So with that, all you can see is the dawn in front of you looks very kinda almost like transparent, like ghostly, like there's not even any weight.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, there's gonna be nest going on to him.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: Aye.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: Get on the C saw.
- 12:06SPEAKER_03: I wanna see just I wanna see something.
- 12:08SPEAKER_03: I wanna see so.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: Is it are you gonna try and persuade him to get on or you just gonna ask?
- 12:15SPEAKER_05: Alright, okay.
- 12:15SPEAKER_05: I'll persuade.
- 12:16SPEAKER_05: Alright, okay.
- 12:17SPEAKER_05: So roll a persuasion.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: Er plus one, so fifty.
- 12:22SPEAKER_05: Fifteen.
- 12:22SPEAKER_05: So spectral dawn doesn't say anything, he just walks on the seesaw, but as he goes to walk on it.
- 12:30SPEAKER_05: It's like he's a ghost effectively, so he just goes through it.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 12:36SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: Little fucking puzzles right off the bat here.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: Um Can I try standing on the seesaw?
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: Do you want it's just gonna be the same thing.
- 12:48SPEAKER_03: It's gonna be the same thing.
- 12:49SPEAKER_05: Well what what part of the seesaw do you want to stand on?
- 12:51SPEAKER_05: The middle.
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: Okay, so you stand in the middle, it balances out, and you're not high enough to reach the key, but you're in balasting the seesaw.
- 12:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: And there's nothing else in this room.
- 13:04SPEAKER_05: Nothing else.
- 13:05SPEAKER_05: Just yourself.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: Have I gone through the door?
- 13:09SPEAKER_03: No.
- 13:10SPEAKER_05: You can go and investigate the door if you want.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: I want to go investigate the door.
- 13:13SPEAKER_06: Okay, so you go roll or investigate.
- 13:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, so I rolled a twelve.
- 13:17SPEAKER_05: Investigation.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: And it's actually minus one, so that'd be eleven.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: Eleven.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: So why the fuck would I make it minus one for investigating?
- 13:25SPEAKER_05: You look at the door, it's just a wooden door, if you want to like I want to fuck with it.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: I want to open it, I want to walk through it, I want to see what's going on.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: So it's locked, you open you try and pull it, you can't there's you can't open it.
- 13:36SPEAKER_05: You go to the other side, it says that same can't be open for the other side.
- 13:40SPEAKER_05: It's just a completely normal juice.
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna need this key.
- 13:42SPEAKER_05: Wooden oak door.
- 13:44SPEAKER_03: Don't asks.
- 13:45SPEAKER_03: Don't asks the world.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: How do I get that key?
- 13:51SPEAKER_05: And Spectral Don replies and goes, only you are the answer to your problems.
- 13:58SPEAKER_05: I hate this.
- 14:00SPEAKER_03: I fucking hate this.
- 14:02SPEAKER_03: I'm in a pitch but you you're me.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: You are me, so help me.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: And I am you.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: So help me, help us.
- 14:11SPEAKER_03: Because you are me and I am you, figure this out.
- 14:14SPEAKER_05: Well help help help yourself.
- 14:16SPEAKER_05: What have you got inside of yourself?
- 14:18SPEAKER_05: What can you do for yourself in this situation?
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna start throwing shit at the key.
- 14:24SPEAKER_05: Throw shit at the key.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: I might start throwing stuff.
- 14:27SPEAKER_03: What do you mean what have I got inside myself?
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Well, what can Don do?
- 14:33SPEAKER_03: He can drink well.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: He's a real good boozer.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: Um I don't know, Liam.
- 14:40SPEAKER_03: You've obviously told me something in like episode fucking four.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: I've not.
- 14:45SPEAKER_05: You've got uh Don has abilities, does he know?
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 14:50SPEAKER_03: I always forget this is magic, you know.
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: I always forget this is magic.
- 14:55SPEAKER_03: Spells! Come on! Er Let's have a fucking look see here.
- 15:03SPEAKER_03: Entangle sounds good.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:05SPEAKER_03: Entangle sounds really good.
- 15:08SPEAKER_03: I don't know what it does though.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Grasping plant sprout from the ground, I try to.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: Right now I think this is my best bet.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: Uh how strong is this string?
- 15:18SPEAKER_06: You film your investigation checks, you don't know.
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: Uh I'm gonna roll heat metal.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: And I'm just gonna try and make this key f really hot to the point where it would burn through the string, dropping the key.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: And then I'm gonna let the key lie there for a little bit.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: Cause I'd want it to cool off.
- 15:42SPEAKER_05: You do that, not 2d8.
- 15:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, two d eights of damage, nothing happens to the string.
- 15:48SPEAKER_05: The key is just hot now.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: Fairly.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: That was kind of the best uh, I think.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Well, what else can you do?
- 15:58SPEAKER_05: You know what's a function in seesaw.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: Cure wounds does nothing.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 16:07SPEAKER_03: Find familiar, heat metal, moon beam, and speak with animals.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Thunderwave.
- 16:14SPEAKER_03: I do love a thunder wave.
- 16:16SPEAKER_03: But again, that's not gonna do anything here.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Oh!
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: I thought Fury Fire might be good, but 'tis not.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, this is hell.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: This is hell.
- 16:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, you c you can figure this out.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: You've got abilities, you know you can do stuff.
- 16:35SPEAKER_05: What have you done in the past that was cool?
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: Thun the Thunder Wave is all I've ever rolled.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: All I've ever rolled is Thunder Wave.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: I'm giving and I say Thunder Wave every time I do it.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: It's become a little catchphrase.
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: The fans are got it on t-shirts.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: Have you never turned into something?
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 16:55SPEAKER_03: Animals.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_03: But that's not that's not here.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: You led me down you led me down a garden path with this.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: You led me down a fucking garden path.
- 17:06SPEAKER_03: This is what he does.
- 17:07SPEAKER_03: This is what he fucking does.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: He makes you think, oh, look at your spells.
- 17:11SPEAKER_05: I said abilities to be filled in you switch straight his spells.
- 17:17SPEAKER_03: Would that be under features and treats?
- 17:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah, features and treats.
- 17:21SPEAKER_05: So remember you can turn into a badger, a spider.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: Why are these not down here?
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: They should be down here.
- 17:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I know a giant eagle.
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: Well, giant eagle would be that would be your boy.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: Giant eagle.
- 17:33SPEAKER_03: Although what a laugh shouldn't be a badge.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: No, giant eagle, please.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Alright, so you turn into a giant eagle.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: And then what do you do?
- 17:42SPEAKER_03: I go and fucking fly up and grab the bastard and key.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: The now very hot key.
- 17:47SPEAKER_05: You go out, you grab the key, you manage to snatch it off.
- 17:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: And then the other Don looks at you and he goes, See Don, when we believe in ourselves, we can soar.
- 18:03SPEAKER_02: Don turns back into himself not the eagle.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: And says, I mean, you did give me all of the holds up the key keys for me to find the success within myself.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: He gives you what a beautiful moment.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: A cool thumbs up.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: Between the dunce.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: That was a fun time.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: And he puts the key in the door.
- 18:36SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 18:37SPEAKER_05: You open a door and you walk do you walk through the door?
- 18:40SPEAKER_05: A hundred percent.
- 18:41SPEAKER_05: So you walk through the Now is not the time for trepidation.
- 18:43SPEAKER_05: You walk through the door and you walk into another room of darkness.
- 18:47SPEAKER_05: Oh piss! Shit in piss.
- 18:51SPEAKER_05: And what is in front of you is a mother.
- 18:55SPEAKER_05: And What this is some Harry Potter nonsense.
- 18:58SPEAKER_05: A mirror and a basin.
- 19:00SPEAKER_05: But so the mirror's in front of you, and you can see the the the basin that is.
- 19:07SPEAKER_05: So you walk through the door, first thing you see is the basin, and then the water in it?
- 19:11SPEAKER_05: Empty.
- 19:12SPEAKER_05: Empty basin, and then you see the mother behind the basin.
- 19:15SPEAKER_03: Am I in the mirror?
- 19:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so you can see yourself in the mirror.
- 19:18SPEAKER_03: The mirror is just currently functioning as a mirror.
- 19:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's just a mirror.
- 19:21SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 19:21SPEAKER_05: If you want to roll a perception, I can tell you more.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_03: 18.
- 19:26SPEAKER_05: 18.
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: So you Plus Plus 4.
- 19:30SPEAKER_05: Very good.
- 19:30SPEAKER_03: So I should have put them th those plus fours in all of my perception checks.
- 19:35SPEAKER_05: So you look in the mirror, you see yourself in the mirror, completely normal, normal dawn.
- 19:41SPEAKER_05: You look in the basin, basin is completely empty, but then when you look in the mirror, in the basin is a photograph that is damp, covered in blood, and has the picture has the dawn ball tree push pushing us.
- 20:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 20:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's gonna be that photograph, and it's covered in blood.
- 20:07SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 20:08SPEAKER_05: From your battle with the mermand that you snatched it off of.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: Okay, nothing there at the end.
- 20:17SPEAKER_03: Corses.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: Course it is.
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: Is there a ghost Don in this room?
- 20:22SPEAKER_05: He goes, yeah, I I'm I'm here to Wha how can I help you this time?
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: I think I'm supposed to be learning something from this mirror and basin.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: I need to interact with it in some way.
- 20:35SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: To get to the next room of darkness.
- 20:38SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: And I need your help, Don.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: Help me find the answer within myself.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Well w what you what do you think you should do?
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Don?
- 20:50SPEAKER_03: If I knew that I wouldn't be asking you, would I?
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: I obviously I obviously want to get my hands on that photograph.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: Oh, but I have the photograph on my person.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: Well yeah.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: I can I try to find that and take it out?
- 21:07SPEAKER_03: Yes, you take it out.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: Put it in the basin.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: You put it in the basin?
- 21:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_05: And the miller start the miller slides out and it is a passageway that was behind the manor.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: Well, we're getting real good timings now, boys and girls.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: We're fucking we're pissing this.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: Uh I walk through.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: So you'll Although it feels bad leaving the photo there.
- 21:33SPEAKER_05: Well, you could go back and grab it if you want.
- 21:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the passage isn't gonna close again.
- 21:37SPEAKER_05: Well, it's uh you'll find it.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: I'll go back and pick up the photo.
- 21:44SPEAKER_05: You go back and pick up the photo, nothing happens.
- 21:46SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:47SPEAKER_05: And you go through the passageway.
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: Beautiful.
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: So you walk through the passageway, and then you realize you are now in a hallway.
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: You look behind you, passageway is gone.
- 21:57SPEAKER_05: Fuck.
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: That's a little bit scary.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: So you're in the hallway and it looks like a dead end.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: You turn around.
- 22:07SPEAKER_05: There's a five foot wall behind you.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: Five foot?
- 22:11SPEAKER_05: Five foot.
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: You can look over it.
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: You see nothing.
- 22:19SPEAKER_05: Nothing the other side of the wall.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: You the wall looks solid, there's whiteing on the wall.
- 22:26SPEAKER_05: And it says keep your eye here and you may escape.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Keep your eye here.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: And you might escape.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Well now I'm terrified to look anywhere else.
- 22:39SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 22:41SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: I spell E Y E E.
- 22:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 22:52SPEAKER_03: Don whilst staring at the message on the wall.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: Or maybe even just the word here.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: You might just be staring at here.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 23:01SPEAKER_03: Might keep your eye here.
- 23:02SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 23:03SPEAKER_03: This is like one of these little fucking uh when we were in school.
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: I can't remember what it was called.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: Was it called something like the impossible quiz?
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: No.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: Did you do them?
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: We're about the same age.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: You're only like seven years younger than me.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Good for comics, man.
- 23:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's not actually not bad.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: But there was this thing in school called like the impossible quiz.
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: I think they still do them.
- 23:29SPEAKER_03: So it's kind of it's all like little mind fucks.
- 23:32SPEAKER_03: Like it'll be like if you when you see the cat, don't click twice.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: So then you like have to click three times when you see the cat and you'll be on to the next level.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: That sort of thing.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: Do you know what I mean?
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Like it gives you it asks you questions.
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: The whole intention is to fuck with you.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:51SPEAKER_03: I'm taking this as that.
- 23:53SPEAKER_03: So if I when it says keep your eye here, I'm like, well, here is where it's telling you to look.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: So I'm just gonna stare at here.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: But while simultaneously going, Don, is there a Don in the hallway?
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Don Don goes, yeah, I'm I'm still here.
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: I'm staring at the here, Don.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Is that what I need to do?
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: I know as much as you do.
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: I'm just staring at here.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:17SPEAKER_05: How long do you think I need to do this for, Don?
- 24:19SPEAKER_05: I I would assume I I don't know, but I would assume my way to try and do other stuff as well.
- 24:25SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: Should I give it my eye?
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Should I rip out my eye and keep it there?
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: Don't only you have to keep your eye here.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Keep your eye here.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Can I try and climb this wall?
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: If you want, yeah.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, let's try climb the wall.
- 24:57unknown: Fuck me.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: What does that mean?
- 24:59SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's a nat twenty.
- 25:03SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 25:04SPEAKER_05: So you climb the wall skillfully, you one hand over, do we jump over?
- 25:09SPEAKER_05: Uh as soon as you jump over the wall, you fall into darkness, you fall all the way down, and you're back in the corridor.
- 25:16SPEAKER_05: Okay, it's not that done.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: Although do you see how cool I did it?
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: It was really cool.
- 25:24SPEAKER_03: Oh fuck.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: Right, I'm looking at stuff again.
- 25:28SPEAKER_05: This is So when you look around the corridor, you've got the wall with the writing on it.
- 25:33SPEAKER_05: There's two walls and then a dead end.
- 25:36SPEAKER_03: What do you mean there's two?
- 25:37SPEAKER_03: Oh, the either side of the hallway, right?
- 25:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the sort of corridor walls.
- 25:41SPEAKER_05: And then at the end of the corridors.
- 25:43SPEAKER_05: A dead end.
- 25:44SPEAKER_05: It's just a normal wall.
- 25:45SPEAKER_05: No writing on it.
- 25:46SPEAKER_05: Tall enough that you can't climb it.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, thanks very much for listening to the latest episode of Comic Quest.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: Remember to like and subscribe, shout out Blackfriars.
- 25:59SPEAKER_03: What the fuck is going on?
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: I have no idea.
- 26:01SPEAKER_03: Keep your eye here.
- 26:02SPEAKER_03: That's all I have to go on.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: Keep your eye here, then you might just escape.
- 26:05SPEAKER_05: You've got a corridor that is a dead end behind you directly behind this wall.
- 26:11unknown: Keep your eye here.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: I think I've thought of something quite fucking smart here.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: Don walks up to the five foot wall with the writing on it.
- 26:27SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Says keep your eye here.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: He's staring at that wall.
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: And he just starts walking backwards.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: Just walking backwards.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: But all the time staring at that wall.
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: He's keeping his eyes there.
- 26:42SPEAKER_05: But he's going.
- 26:44SPEAKER_05: So as Don starts walking backwards, it's like he's walking backwards up a slope.
- 26:51SPEAKER_05: And he keeps walking backwards and walking backwards until the wall is far in the distance.
- 26:57SPEAKER_05: If when Don turns around, he's walking back closer to the TV screen that is reality that he faded away from at the start.
- 27:08SPEAKER_05: Come on, Donnie Baldree.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: That's fucking sick.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: Er Yeah, just keep walking.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: So I you done well getting that puzzle.
- 27:17SPEAKER_05: I was like, oh, he's nobody.
- 27:19SPEAKER_03: That one was that wasn't the one that fucked me up.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: So that was the one that fucked me up.
- 27:22SPEAKER_05: As Don gets closer to the TV screen, it's like it's a massive TV screen at this point, it's like you're in the cinema.
- 27:29SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 27:29SPEAKER_05: And what Don sees is the sh the ship, Vanny, it's big wind steering the ship, everything's chaos, it's crazy.
- 27:38SPEAKER_05: It's going through a very narrow gap through a big ring of smoke, and it has consumed the city of another winter.
- 27:45SPEAKER_05: And as Don looks at the TV screen, you can see the figure in the s in the smoke with a pale face and bright yellow eyes, but there's a familiarity to this face.
- 27:59SPEAKER_05: And as Don looks into the face, the picture in his jacket pocket starts to burn and Don can feel it pressing hard against his chest, burning into his chest, right where his heart is.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: And what does Don do now?
- 28:17SPEAKER_03: I mean he's probably gonna try and salvage it.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Burning, but he's gonna try and salvage it.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: So he goes to grab the photo.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: So you grab the photo, you look at the photo, it is Don pushing the boy on the bike.
- 28:39SPEAKER_05: The boy in the bike has yellow eyes, you look back up.
- 28:43SPEAKER_03: That's a big no for me, that.
- 28:45SPEAKER_03: That's a big no for me.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: What the fuck is going on?
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: You look back up at this is some fucking omen shit.
- 28:52SPEAKER_03: Like d what was that kid called Damien?
- 28:54SPEAKER_05: Damien eye.
- 28:55SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell.
- 28:56SPEAKER_05: You look back up at the face of the figure with the yellow eyes, you realise this is a much older version of the boy in the picture.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, cool.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Good stuff.
- 29:13SPEAKER_03: Good stuff.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: Don stretches out his hand.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: And his arm to the older boy with the yellow eyes.
- 29:26SPEAKER_02: And he just says I'm gonna deal with it.
- 29:35SPEAKER_05: Some And then Don is thrown back into darkness.
- 29:43SPEAKER_05: Fucking hell.
- 29:44SPEAKER_05: Sucked all the way back, and Don finds himself in front of a wooden door that is locked, is not a part of any wall or anything.
- 29:56SPEAKER_05: You look at the other side, it's just the other side of the door.
- 29:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, he's in hell.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: He's in hell.
- 30:01SPEAKER_05: He's in absolute hell.
- 30:03SPEAKER_05: There's a seesaw with a key on a string above it, and he can hear a figure or a creature moving in the dark.
- 30:11SPEAKER_05: Don, I know it's you.
- 30:15SPEAKER_05: Don doesn't reply this time.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: I'd like to roll produce flame, please.
- 30:22SPEAKER_05: Produce flame?
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 30:25SPEAKER_05: So I see.
- 30:27SPEAKER_05: Just click the grab that 1D8, is that what it is?
- 30:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:33SPEAKER_03: So No, that's the effect.
- 30:35SPEAKER_05: A flickering flame appears in your hand.
- 30:39SPEAKER_05: Can I just walk about the darkness with it?
- 30:42SPEAKER_05: You walk about the darkness.
- 30:44SPEAKER_05: As you walk around the darkness, you can hear like something moving away from you.
- 30:49SPEAKER_05: And it sounds weirdly like the chain of a bicycle.
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: This is fucking hell.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: This is hell.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: This is hell.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: I'm in hell.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: You've put me in hell.
- 31:03SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: Here's what this is what happened.
- 31:06SPEAKER_03: This is what happens when you uh get ill and do a podcast with Liam Farley.
- 31:10SPEAKER_03: He goes, ah yeah, no, boy.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: So sweet on the day.
- 31:13SPEAKER_03: So understanding on the day.
- 31:15SPEAKER_03: Ah yeah, no worries.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: I'll just put you in hell.
- 31:18SPEAKER_03: Fucking hell, man.
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: Well, I think we've all learned the lesson of it.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, don't shit your guts up.
- 31:24SPEAKER_03: And if you do, just do it on the podcast.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: Um just again, stretched out arm goes, son.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Son.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: He's calling out for his boy.
- 31:42SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: Because he knows it's him.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: What what would you would you call this like a persuasion or anything like that?
- 31:48SPEAKER_03: Uh I'd call it a listen to your fucking dad roll.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it would be it would I think it would be persuasion, yeah.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: So persuasion, roll that.
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: Uh overall it's a 12.
- 32:04SPEAKER_05: And you got plus four?
- 32:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 32:06SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 32:07SPEAKER_05: So the boy Oh sorry, eleven.
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: I'm fucking so shit, man.
- 32:12SPEAKER_05: Alright, so er you see the the boy on the bicycle has turned and is no longer cycling away from Don, but you can see him that is still a a nice amount of distance between you and he's just staring at you.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: Come here to me, son.
- 32:32SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 32:33SPEAKER_05: Come here to me, boy.
- 32:34SPEAKER_05: Well, it's very pretty much we've already said to him.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 32:38SPEAKER_05: So is there anything else you can do?
- 32:39SPEAKER_03: I'm just, you know, I'm I'm hoping the character work that I'm doing here is gonna be enough to convince Farley to come here to me, son.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: My boy.
- 32:50SPEAKER_05: So you've basically already said that.
- 32:52SPEAKER_05: If you want to say something different, I can give you another persuasion rule because you've effectively said come here and you've got I've missed you.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Give your dad a hug.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: Alright, no persuasion in that.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: And remember how it was delivered.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: It was delivered with a uh HNC acting pass and mental forteen.
- 33:21SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 33:22SPEAKER_05: So the boy starts cycling towards you and he approaches and he's now in front of you.
- 33:27SPEAKER_05: You can reach out and touch him if you want.
- 33:29SPEAKER_03: I yeah, well.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: Don drops to a knee and goes to embrace his son.
- 33:39SPEAKER_03: Uh you hug.
- 33:41SPEAKER_03: You you hug each other.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, Don's in floods.
- 33:44SPEAKER_03: The second because I thought you were gonna do some shit like the hands go through him.
- 33:48SPEAKER_03: The second it is our hug.
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: It floods.
- 33:52SPEAKER_03: Floods.
- 33:54SPEAKER_03: So Don's gone.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Don't emotional.
- 33:57SPEAKER_05: The boy says, Why are you crying, Dad?
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: Happy tears.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: I just missed you.
- 34:09SPEAKER_05: And the boy goes, I missed you too.
- 34:11SPEAKER_05: How are we gonna get out of here, Dad?
- 34:15SPEAKER_03: If you do not know the answer to that, then we're both fucked.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: So the boy just looks over at the seesaw.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: Of course.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: Don just ruffles the top of his head, like in his hair, and just goes, You're so unbelievably smart.
- 34:37SPEAKER_03: You're so you're so much smarter than your old man.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Don runs over it giddily, maybe even lets her we just regressed to a fucking child again.
- 34:54SPEAKER_03: Uh sits in the seesaw, goes down to the ground hoping.
- 34:57SPEAKER_03: Oh no, but to be fair, now it's gonna be hard for us.
- 35:03SPEAKER_03: He goes over he he just goes right next to the seesaw and gestures like, get on.
- 35:09SPEAKER_03: So the big boy jumps on.
- 35:11SPEAKER_03: Why am I crying?
- 35:12SPEAKER_05: God farley, you paint such movement pictures.
- 35:16SPEAKER_05: So the boy jumps on the seesaw, the other lens rises up a little bit, but it's not he's not all the way in the ground and it's not all the way at the top.
- 35:24SPEAKER_03: Don then sits on his end of the seesaw.
- 35:27SPEAKER_05: The seesaw moves up and the boy's all the way at the top, he can reach up and grab the key.
- 35:31SPEAKER_05: Get the key, boy! Or do you want to have a you want him to just play a wee bit first, or do you just want him to get the key?
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, what a fucking that question nearly fucked me up.
- 35:44SPEAKER_03: You just want him to play a wee bit first.
- 35:46SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 35:48SPEAKER_03: No, let's get the key though, let's not fucking like yeah, yes, I'm happy to see my son yes, I'm happy to see my son again, obviously, but also the room clearly wants the key.
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: So I'm now guessing we're gonna have to do all of these rooms again, but I'm hoping with a there's a nice heart behind this now.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: We're doing them properly, not slowly, that it will lead to a different outcome, is my hope.
- 36:14SPEAKER_05: Okay, so the boy grabs the key and then he sli he moves his legs to one side and he slides down the seesaw straight into your arms.
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, this boy.
- 36:25SPEAKER_05: And then you uh Did I ever name him?
- 36:28SPEAKER_05: No, you never give him a name.
- 36:30SPEAKER_05: Should probably do it.
- 36:33SPEAKER_05: It's your son.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Maximus.
- 36:39SPEAKER_05: So Maximus slides straight in.
- 36:43SPEAKER_05: Good name, Maximus slides down.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: He slides straight into your arms, what do you want to do now?
- 36:48SPEAKER_05: He's got the key in his hands.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Don looks at the door, looks at Maximus, and he goes, Do the honours, son.
- 36:55SPEAKER_05: So Maximus puts the key in the door, he turns it, the door opens, and you you can now walk through, and then you can see the mirror and the basin on the other side of the door.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: We walk through.
- 37:10SPEAKER_05: So you walk through and you're looking in the mirror, you see yourself, you see the basin.
- 37:16SPEAKER_05: Do you want to roll a perception?
- 37:18SPEAKER_05: I do.
- 37:19SPEAKER_03: I really do.
- 37:21SPEAKER_03: Just take that as red.
- 37:22SPEAKER_03: Anytime I walk in a room, I wanna be perception-y.
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
- 37:29SPEAKER_03: Six.
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Six.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: That's with the plus four.
- 37:32SPEAKER_05: So six, you look and you see uh Maximus in the basin.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: Pick him up.
- 37:43SPEAKER_03: Fuck about with him for a little bit like airplane.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: Pop him in the basin.
- 37:49SPEAKER_05: Okay, the mirror slides open and you can see the passageway.
- 37:53SPEAKER_05: Pick Maximus up out the basin.
- 37:55SPEAKER_05: The mirror shuts.
- 37:58SPEAKER_03: Now that is not what happened last time, Liam.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: No.
- 38:01SPEAKER_03: Now, uh if you want to wreck on that, because you might have fucked up there.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: I have not.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: You might have fucked up there though, Liam, because I think if you vividly remember last time it was possible to take the photo out.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna continue on without my son now.
- 38:15SPEAKER_05: Well, you've done it before.
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, you bastard! You absolute low life uh you you shit yourself one time, you forget your kid one time, and this is just what you're fucking known as.
- 38:31SPEAKER_03: Uh Don is really sad.
- 38:36SPEAKER_02: Don puts Maximus down.
- 38:39SPEAKER_02: He's probably just sat on the ground.
- 38:43SPEAKER_02: I can't leave you.
- 38:46SPEAKER_02: I can't do it.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: Okay, well you went from being a child genius to the dumbest gun I've ever seen.
- 38:55SPEAKER_03: Do you not see what just happened?
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: I put you in the basin, the d the mirror open, the passageway open, I took you out the basin, passway shut.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: That kind of tell him can I get in the basin?
- 39:08SPEAKER_06: You can if you want.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: I jump in the basin.
- 39:11SPEAKER_03: Nothing happened.
- 39:12SPEAKER_03: Shit.
- 39:13SPEAKER_03: Shit, shit.
- 39:16SPEAKER_05: Why are you in a basin then?
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: I'm trying stuff, son! I will fucking leave you here.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: Uh can I t take the photo out again?
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: You take the photo out, the photo is now blank.
- 39:29SPEAKER_02: Blank?
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: Blank?
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: It's just a bit of paper on the I pop that in the basin?
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: Nothing happens.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, Maximus, you are gonna get left.
- 39:49SPEAKER_03: What sort of father would I be?
- 39:51SPEAKER_03: If I just you can't just There's no way to live in the world just leaving your sons in basins.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: There's no way to be a father.
- 40:02SPEAKER_03: I put Max in the basin again.
- 40:04SPEAKER_05: The man off slides open the passageways in front of you.
- 40:10SPEAKER_02: What do you think we should do, son?
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: Maxim says, I don't know.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: Oh come on, son.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: Do we live in this room forever?
- 40:24SPEAKER_05: Maximus says he'd like that.
- 40:25SPEAKER_05: Oh, so would I.
- 40:27SPEAKER_05: So would I.
- 40:31SPEAKER_03: Don walks over, grabs either side of Maximus's head, gives him a kiss on the top of the head.
- 40:40SPEAKER_02: And goes.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna see you on the other side of that.
- 40:45SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna see you there.
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: Walks through the passageway, leaving Maximus in the basin.
- 40:53SPEAKER_03: Which is a hell of a sentence.
- 40:55SPEAKER_03: One sentence, I mean, 20 minutes ago I didn't even know this cun's name.
- 40:58SPEAKER_03: And now I'm leaving Maximus in the basin.
- 41:00SPEAKER_03: That's a sentence that's never been said before.
- 41:02SPEAKER_03: That is a sentence that's never been said ever before.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: I'm leaving my son Maximus in the basin.
- 41:10SPEAKER_05: So you walk through the passageway, you turn round.
- 41:15SPEAKER_05: Maximus, that whole room that you were in is now gone.
- 41:19SPEAKER_05: You look in front of you, you see the dead end of the corridor that was the third room last time.
- 41:25SPEAKER_05: You turn, you look to see the wall or you're expecting to see keep your eye here, you might just escape.
- 41:33SPEAKER_05: This time what you see is a window and underneath it says keep your eye here, you might just escape, but through the window you can see Maximus alone with his mum and you're She's a bitch as well.
- 41:52SPEAKER_03: But you're it's like He always preferred his dad.
- 41:57SPEAKER_05: I don't know if he does anymore.
- 41:59SPEAKER_05: His mum doesn't go around leaving him in basins.
- 42:03SPEAKER_05: So when you look into the window, you can see it's almost like a montage.
- 42:08SPEAKER_05: You're watching just memories.
- 42:10SPEAKER_05: Parts of Maximus's life.
- 42:12SPEAKER_03: The night with that I missed.
- 42:13SPEAKER_05: Uh that you were not a part of.
- 42:15SPEAKER_05: Oh you're not seeing Maximus at his sports day, watching all the other dads do it.
- 42:21SPEAKER_05: I was chasing a dream, son.
- 42:23SPEAKER_05: I was chasing a dream.
- 42:25SPEAKER_05: Well, the other dads are chasing something.
- 42:28SPEAKER_05: Their son.
- 42:28SPEAKER_05: Their sons.
- 42:29SPEAKER_05: Maximus has stood alone.
- 42:34SPEAKER_05: In the playground.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: Er I'm watching this for a bit.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: I'm just watching it.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: I know what I need to do, but Don's just watching it.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: Just watching the stuff he missed.
- 42:46SPEAKER_03: So a solitary tear comes down Don's right eye.
- 42:52SPEAKER_05: So you're watching this small five-year-old boy grow into a ten-year-old boy and you're watching his life.
- 43:02SPEAKER_03: I think I'm now realizing why this cunt's evil.
- 43:05SPEAKER_03: I'm his villagin uh villagin.
- 43:08SPEAKER_03: I'm his villagin.
- 43:10SPEAKER_03: I'm his villain origin arc.
- 43:12SPEAKER_05: So you're seeing him go to high school and get bullied and come home.
- 43:20SPEAKER_05: Come home with no one to talk to about it.
- 43:22SPEAKER_05: That's gonna make you a better comedian in the future, son.
- 43:25SPEAKER_05: Be grateful.
- 43:26SPEAKER_05: Then you see him go to high school and be a teenager, but be an outsider and no one talks to him.
- 43:34SPEAKER_05: But he's watching stand-up comedy and he's watching uh Dev Chappelle, and he's got an a note he's got a notebook.
- 43:41SPEAKER_05: Dev Chappelle.
- 43:42SPEAKER_05: Dev Chappelle.
- 43:44SPEAKER_05: He hates trans people that's gonna.
- 43:48SPEAKER_05: And he's writing down notes, but the notes are subpar, missing structure.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: He's getting stronger.
- 43:58SPEAKER_05: Then you see him.
- 44:00SPEAKER_05: Become leave high school and become a young adult but he has no friends, he's alone.
- 44:06SPEAKER_05: Don't need friends.
- 44:08SPEAKER_05: He's on his computer.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: You see him start a website.
- 44:12SPEAKER_02: Hopple.
- 44:20SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 44:22SPEAKER_03: Do not do this to me.
- 44:24SPEAKER_03: In what it was one episode, Liam.
- 44:28SPEAKER_03: I missed one fucking episode.
- 44:31SPEAKER_03: And I'm this is overkill now.
- 44:33SPEAKER_03: No, don't make him this.
- 44:36SPEAKER_03: Don't make him this.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: I beg, please.
- 44:39SPEAKER_05: He puts a review up of a comedian called Fanny Spigwind under the name Ben Stennet.
- 44:50SPEAKER_05: Oh god.
- 44:54SPEAKER_05: Son no.
- 44:56SPEAKER_05: You could have done this.
- 44:58SPEAKER_05: And as you continue watching, you see him get in with a bad crowd, you start uh a almost a cult-like vibe you get from him, they're always wearing hoods and stuff like that.
- 45:10SPEAKER_05: You see them do sacrifices of animals and stuff like that.
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: Christ! And as they're sacrificing a s a lo a a portal appears full of smoke, and you see Maximus pushing people out of the way and running through the portal, and you see him land in the land that you are now in, the land of the Forgotten Realms, and you see him become corrupt gain magic and become corrupted and slowly become the s pale figure surrounded by smoke, and his eyes start to yellow, and then you see him hunting you down through this land.
- 45:53SPEAKER_03: I mean that's fucking sick.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: That's uh that's unbelievable.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: This is all g going on in the in the in the window.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: I keep my eyes there and I just start fucking running backwards.
- 46:11SPEAKER_05: So you again you start to run, start running uphill.
- 46:14SPEAKER_05: Maximus until the window is completely out of you, you turn round.
- 46:22SPEAKER_05: The win the screen into reality is there.
- 46:28SPEAKER_05: And you see yourself on the ship as the ship makes it through the gap and the ring of smoke, and you see Maximus screaming and anger and frustration as his smoke consumes the whole of Nother Winter and your airship flies away.
- 46:47SPEAKER_05: Into so the smoke's just consumed it all.
- 46:50SPEAKER_05: Consumed the whole city, but your ship is out of the smoke and in the clear and sailing away.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: And I'm on that.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: You're on the ship.
- 47:04SPEAKER_03: And this it's just on this big massive screen.
- 47:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, this massive cinema screen in front of you.
- 47:13SPEAKER_03: Don is is overcome with knowledge, emotion.
- 47:19SPEAKER_03: Doesn't know where to put it.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: I feel like if if this was a TV show or a film, it'd be the sort of thing we he would just he's he's powerless, he buckles to his knees.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: Perception?
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: If in doubt perceive 22.
- 47:44SPEAKER_05: Twenty-two, so you look at the screen in front of you and it looks almost like you could walk through it.
- 47:51SPEAKER_05: You could walk through the screen if you wanted.
- 47:53SPEAKER_05: There is nothing else around, there's no voices, you don't hear any creatures moving in the darkness, it is just a screen.
- 48:01SPEAKER_03: Don is gonna because he's on his knees.
- 48:03SPEAKER_03: Bring himself back to his feet and try and walk through the screen.
- 48:08SPEAKER_05: You walk through the screen, there's a massive bright light, and in front of you is someone you know.
- 48:15SPEAKER_02: It's God.
- 48:17SPEAKER_02: God is back.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: Now what the fuck are you doing?
- 48:23SPEAKER_02: I I didn't even think you were real.
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: You're not real.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: How am I not real?
- 48:29SPEAKER_03: I know you're not real.
- 48:30SPEAKER_05: How am I not real?
- 48:32SPEAKER_03: Because of the drinking thing.
- 48:33SPEAKER_03: You told me I Or the pun thing.
- 48:37SPEAKER_03: You You cursed me and I did the thing and nothing happened.
- 48:42SPEAKER_02: That led me to believe that you were not real.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: Well who else would that be?
- 48:50SPEAKER_05: Fuck Divino, brother.
- 48:52SPEAKER_05: And God goes, Yes, cause that's cause you've never known me, Dawn.
- 48:56SPEAKER_05: And in front of you the figure of God disappears, and in front of you is the pale face of Maximus.
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: Pause.
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: Pause, pause, pause.
- 49:20SPEAKER_03: What the f what the fuck is going on?
- 49:22SPEAKER_03: This episode has been a fucking head boggler.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: Head boggler.
- 49:27SPEAKER_03: My head is boggled.
- 49:29SPEAKER_03: If that was your goal.
- 49:32SPEAKER_03: Mission tick achieved.
- 49:35SPEAKER_03: My oh right.
- 49:38SPEAKER_03: I'm g you're not saying there that Maximus is God.
- 49:41SPEAKER_05: Has God done anything that has actually affected any of you so it was God just basically being constant illusions and taking you places that you thought you were?
- 49:50SPEAKER_05: B.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: So it's been Maximus the whole time.
- 49:53SPEAKER_03: There is there is no God.
- 49:55SPEAKER_05: It's been Maximus fucking with you the whole time.
- 49:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 49:57SPEAKER_05: Because you've seen through the window, you saw him following you.
- 50:01SPEAKER_05: Well, not following, but as he was watching you.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:07SPEAKER_05: And then you're also like, of course, this is I need to fucking turn this on here.
- 50:12SPEAKER_03: I need to turn this fucking on.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: This has now become for me anyway, not a comedy podcast.
- 50:17SPEAKER_03: This is an acting exercise for me now.
- 50:19SPEAKER_05: Well, if you think about it as well, it does explain why God was so upset about the puns, because Maximus is a comedy defense.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:27SPEAKER_03: He hates puns.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: So he would hate puns.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: He fucking hates puns.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: He wants clean, well-worked routines.
- 50:33SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 50:33SPEAKER_05: He was disappointed.
- 50:35SPEAKER_05: Although he hates Fanny as Bigwood, apparently.
- 50:38SPEAKER_05: Well.
- 50:39SPEAKER_05: She was the only one he never actually took away as good.
- 50:44SPEAKER_03: Dawn, I don't even know how to fucking do this.
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: This is so This is so mammothly big.
- 50:51SPEAKER_03: I cannot get this wrong.
- 50:54SPEAKER_03: This this feels like.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Actually, to be fair, I was about to say that it feels like this whole series and podcast features on a fucking knife edge of me nailing this.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: You're the DM.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: There's no possible world where I nail this.
- 51:09SPEAKER_03: There's no possible world.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: Then the outcome will always be, and then Max goes, fuck off, dah.
- 51:16SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 51:17SPEAKER_03: So now that there's a comfort there, I'm not going to be able to win this.
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: We might as well just try.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: Um Don, where is Maximus?
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Is he massive and in the sky or is he just Oh, he's just in front of you.
- 51:28SPEAKER_05: So if you think about it, remember God was basically like the Simpsons God, but it was just like you could only really see his legs and he was massive.
- 51:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 51:35SPEAKER_05: It's like that whole image fades away and it's just Maximus standing in front of you.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: Right, fuck it.
- 51:43SPEAKER_03: Let's turn it on.
- 51:44SPEAKER_03: Right, comedy's gone, acting exercise.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: Don staring right into Maximus' eyes.
- 51:52SPEAKER_03: And I want to roll to fucking back this up.
- 51:56SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 51:56SPEAKER_03: But I'm I'll roleplay it first, and then I want to roll after.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 52:00SPEAKER_03: So you can see.
- 52:03SPEAKER_03: Don Baltry to his core is a man that has probably fucked up a lot in his life.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: And he probably knows that but doesn't like to admit it.
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: The one thing that he definitely was at for a time, he was definitely a good comic at some point.
- 52:24SPEAKER_03: As years went on and stuff didn't really happen for him when he kind of got close, he just plateaued and just fucking did the same set, hasn't fucking upgraded, hasn't moved, hasn't adapted for anything.
- 52:38SPEAKER_03: But he's a very unserious man.
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: He doesn't he take he doesn't take himself or the career or anything in life seriously.
- 52:46SPEAKER_03: This is the first time Don his whole bravado changes.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: He is staring into the eyes of his son.
- 52:55SPEAKER_03: He is picking his words very wisely.
- 53:00SPEAKER_02: And he says, Max, I fucked up.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: I know I fucked up.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: And I want you to know I'm sorry.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: I do I am not expecting your forgiveness.
- 53:21SPEAKER_03: But I just want you to know I fucked up.
- 53:26SPEAKER_03: Performance.
- 53:27SPEAKER_03: Performance.
- 53:29SPEAKER_03: Perform the fuck out of it.
- 53:31unknown: Come on, Roger.
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: Come on.
- 53:33SPEAKER_05: Plus what do I get?
- 53:34SPEAKER_05: You get plus one to performance.
- 53:36SPEAKER_05: Twenty! Okay.
- 53:38SPEAKER_05: So you look at Maximus's face, his eyes blink.
- 53:43SPEAKER_05: And for a second you were sure his eyes had stopped being yellow.
- 53:48SPEAKER_05: But as you look at him more, you feel his face can talk.
- 53:52SPEAKER_05: You can feel see him his hand almost go to his heart.
- 53:56SPEAKER_05: You can see his eyes become yellow again.
- 54:00SPEAKER_05: And his looks his face has got a very confused and then an angry look and his eyes almost become orange.
- 54:08SPEAKER_05: Oh shit.
- 54:08SPEAKER_05: And he says orange is better than you.
- 54:11SPEAKER_05: And he says nothing, but you feel an a fury flying out of Maximus.
- 54:20SPEAKER_02: And he disappears the room around you disappears.
- 54:26SPEAKER_05: You awake on this airship in the clouds.
- 54:32SPEAKER_05: You're in a city that is in the clouds.
- 54:35SPEAKER_05: It is made up of docks that have balloons tied underneath them.
- 54:39SPEAKER_05: And that is how it's in the air.
- 54:41SPEAKER_05: Big question.
- 54:43SPEAKER_03: Do I remember what's just happened?
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: You remember everything.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: Rikay.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: I remember the rooms, I remember the foe, I remember the basin, I remember fucking I remember and what I said to him there.
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: I remember and now I do I know was that enough for me Dawn to understand that Maximus is the one that's been fucking with us.
- 55:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Dawn understands Maximus is the one who's been fucking with you.
- 55:09SPEAKER_05: Maximus is the reason you're all here and all that.

- 55:47SPEAKER_05: No, no.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: When I do role-playing games with like mates, my whole thing is I want to give my character a s a story arc and and because I do see it like a TV show or whatever.
- 56:03SPEAKER_03: I'm like, what's pushing narrative forward?
- 56:05SPEAKER_03: I want my character to be pushing narrative forward.
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: I don't necessarily maybe I'm wrong.
- 56:12SPEAKER_03: Maybe I'm wrong.
- 56:13SPEAKER_03: Maybe fucking Hammer and Stade do have more irons in the fire.
- 56:16SPEAKER_03: But shit like this, and I mean this, is fucking gold dust to me.
- 56:22SPEAKER_03: And yeah, we're four comedians doing a podcast playing Dungeons and Dragons.
