- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cat's name.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Why are you looking at me weird?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Already?
- 0:17Speaker 2: It's July twenty eight, Tuesday. Hope everybody's doing well. I
- 0:21Speaker 2: mean I've already been messed up and looked at in
- 0:23Speaker 2: a weird way as we get it as we're going
- 0:26Speaker 2: on the air right now. But if you want to
- 0:28Speaker 2: give us call five O two three eight four fourteen fifty,
- 0:31Speaker 2: you can do that, or tweet me at Just the
- 0:34Speaker 2: Cat Radio or text me on the Whiskey Thief text
- 0:38Speaker 2: line five O two four one four fourteen fifty. My
- 0:40Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. If you would like to reach
- 0:43Speaker 2: out to me and be a part of Just the
- 0:45Speaker 2: Cats Radio, you can do that.
- 0:48Speaker 3: But anyway, Yeah, what did I do?
- 0:51Speaker 2: You got a weird little smirk on your face, and
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out what have I done wrong?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Already? You just sounded British. Oh I did. Yeah, it
- 1:02Speaker 3: sounded like you said, hello, Big Blue Nation.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Okay, Well, part of it was because I took a
- 1:07Speaker 2: big swig of a little drink. I had a moment
- 1:10Speaker 2: of weakness today. Okay, I went to the local place
- 1:15Speaker 2: next door and got me a dipe cod whoa.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:19Speaker 2: This is twice in two weeks I've done this and
- 1:22Speaker 2: it's like okay. And the thing about it is it
- 1:24Speaker 2: doesn't even taste good. I just wanted something to drink.
- 1:27Speaker 2: You've changed, man, I have, yeah, cause you know I
- 1:31Speaker 2: don't like going to the U of L. Grocery store
- 1:33Speaker 2: or convenience store. I just don't. And it's even red.
- 1:37Speaker 2: The cup I got has even red, So I mean anyway,
- 1:41Speaker 2: I don't know, I just i'ld. I've held a grudge
- 1:44Speaker 2: against this place because I'll never forget the last time
- 1:47Speaker 2: I went there to fill up with gas, it asked
- 1:50Speaker 2: me if I wanted to donate part of my money
- 1:52Speaker 2: to U of L Athletics, and I'm like, I'm never
- 1:55Speaker 2: coming here again. And I have kept to that promised
- 1:58Speaker 2: up until last week because I wanted a diet coke
- 2:02Speaker 2: Diet Coke one and the local Mini Mark one too,
- 2:08Speaker 2: so and Michael Bennett losco I do, I do. I
- 2:13Speaker 2: don't know why I'm the way I am, but I
- 2:17Speaker 2: things bother me and I let it go on for
- 2:20Speaker 2: years and it's I know it's ridiculous, but I think
- 2:24Speaker 2: it's the tight shirt. I am so uncomfortable right now
- 2:29Speaker 2: wearing a tight shirt. I do you're just saying that. No,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I don't like it.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 2: If I stood up, you're like, oh, yeah, it didn't
- 2:40Speaker 2: look good. Yeah, I'm just.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And I'm not standing up. Okay, No, I am not
- 2:47Speaker 3: standing up. All right, it's fine. No, it's fine. No,
- 2:53Speaker 3: it's not.
- 2:54Speaker 2: No, it's not see by you saying it's fine, I
- 2:58Speaker 2: know exactly what that means. It's like, yeah, it's tight.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I mean, that's just your nice way of saying. Yeah, Michael,
- 3:04Speaker 2: you're right.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I mean to be honest with you, I don't really
- 3:06Speaker 3: judge dudes, so for me, it looks fine. Yeah, okay,
- 3:11Speaker 3: Well I'm not standing up again, so don't ask me.
- 3:14Speaker 3: But no, I'm uncomfortable. And and if if if we
- 3:19Speaker 3: weren't on YouTube right now, the shirt would be off.
- 3:22Speaker 3: I don't know what exactly yikes is exactly right?
- 3:25Speaker 2: But uh, I just I don't. I don't like wearing
- 3:28Speaker 2: tight things. Is there anything you like wearing tight?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Uh? Socks? Okay, I don't.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I don't want Yeah, I think you're right about that,
- 3:39Speaker 2: but you know my wife likes to wear what are
- 3:43Speaker 2: those little things that the yoga pants or whatever, and
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Isn't that uncomfortable? It makes me uncomfortable looking, well, she
- 3:51Speaker 3: looks good in them, but it makes me uncomfortable thinking
- 3:55Speaker 3: when I start thinking, it's like, that's got to be
- 3:57Speaker 3: so uncomfortable. But it's with those that I am that
- 4:00Speaker 3: material is probably pretty light, so it doesn't feel like they're.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Really yeah, cause she'll say, well, it makes me feel
- 4:07Speaker 2: like I don't have anything out, like, well, just then
- 4:09Speaker 2: don't have anything on.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I'ay with that.
- 4:11Speaker 4: But I.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Don't understand when, like when certain people will wear a
- 4:20Speaker 2: leather product pants or a dress and it's really tight,
- 4:23Speaker 2: and it's just like it's it looks very nice on them,
- 4:26Speaker 2: but if it was on me, I would be so uncomfortable.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I just don't like wearing tight things. So I get yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 3: You do get it.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I get it.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I don't like a tight hat.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I don't even like wearing those tight hats that you
- 4:39Speaker 2: wear in the wintertime of the beanies or whatever imple
- 4:44Speaker 2: now I hate them.
- 4:45Speaker 3: But no, I mean, I understand what you're saying. Because
- 4:47Speaker 3: there's mornings where I get up and it's it's always
- 4:50Speaker 3: dark when I wake up, and I don't. I don't
- 4:52Speaker 3: flip on any lights. I use my camera, my or
- 4:54Speaker 3: my flashlight on my phone, and nobody mornings where I
- 4:57Speaker 3: put on a shirt that I'm like, I'm certain this,
- 5:00Speaker 3: and then it'll be like, eh, just a little too snug,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and I'll immediately take it off and grab another shirt.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Have you ever gotten up early enough where you put
- 5:08Speaker 2: on the two wrong shoes and you didn't pay attention.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I've been there, done that. I put on a pair
- 5:14Speaker 2: of black dress shoes one shoe and the other shoe
- 5:17Speaker 2: was a pair of dark brown and I looked ridiculous
- 5:20Speaker 2: all day long.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I wear flip flops every day. Oh really, if I'm
- 5:24Speaker 3: wearing two different flip flops, I don't think it. I
- 5:26Speaker 3: don't think it matters. You're exactly correct. I'll never forget
- 5:29Speaker 3: today that I went and I was working. I wore
- 5:33Speaker 3: scrubs because I was working in the oar and I spilled.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I was in the doctor's lounge having a bowl of
- 5:40Speaker 3: fruit Loops, my favorite cereal, and I spilled the entire
- 5:44Speaker 3: bowl all over me. So I went, I'm like, I'm
- 5:48Speaker 3: gonna go change and put on some other scrubs. Guess
- 5:50Speaker 3: what they were? Wet too, because my boxers boxers were wet,
- 5:55Speaker 3: so I couldn't get away with anyway. I'm not gonna
- 5:58Speaker 3: go around wearing scrubs without something on underneath. How comfortable scrubs? Oh,
- 6:03Speaker 3: very like wearing pajamas. They look awesome. Yeah, I've never
- 6:07Speaker 3: wore a pair.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, they that was That was weird because of the
- 6:11Speaker 2: fact that I was dressed up, wore a coat and
- 6:13Speaker 2: tie every day I went to work until I got
- 6:15Speaker 2: so busy. It's like, why am I doing this when
- 6:17Speaker 2: all I'm gonna do is go to the hospital and
- 6:19Speaker 2: change clothes.
- 6:20Speaker 3: So I just started wearing scrubs and uh, just it.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Was comfy, but I liked it. But you know, then
- 6:29Speaker 2: you got to go in there. You gotta put a
- 6:30Speaker 2: mask on, you got to put all this other stuff.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Working in the oar is not as glamorous as you
- 6:35Speaker 2: think it is. No, I wouldn't imagine it was boring.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Good money, but it was very boring. But yeah, I
- 6:42Speaker 2: can take being bored for a lot of money.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Really.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I enjoyed the parts where we were doing like total
- 6:48Speaker 2: knee shoulders that kind of stuff hips, But when we
- 6:51Speaker 2: did spine cases, you're in there for hours on end,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and I'm still very close with the number the spine
- 6:58Speaker 2: doctors I used to work with, and it is like,
- 7:01Speaker 2: you know, I was just twiddling my thumbs back there
- 7:03Speaker 2: until three hours, four hours later you were ready for
- 7:06Speaker 2: me to help you out and make sure those the
- 7:10Speaker 2: right instruments are being handed to you and all.
- 7:12Speaker 3: That kind of stuff.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So yeah, it was just like, Okay, this is boring,
- 7:16Speaker 2: but I don't miss it at all. So I'm glad
- 7:18Speaker 2: to where I am today because I'm enjoying and I'm
- 7:22Speaker 2: not bored at what I'm doing. But all right, let's
- 7:25Speaker 2: talk about a couple of things. Yesterday University Kentucky. We'll
- 7:30Speaker 2: start with basketball today, Okay, Yeah, University of Kentucky released
- 7:35Speaker 2: the entire schedule, so we now know the dates of
- 7:43Speaker 2: the entire schedule and when UK is gonna play whom, when, where,
- 7:48Speaker 2: what and why?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Okay, and I.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Will say it's a little top light and it's very
- 8:00Speaker 2: difficult at the end. I don't know which way I
- 8:05Speaker 2: like that or not. And let's talk about this. So
- 8:09Speaker 2: should I go through the entire dates and everything or no?
- 8:13Speaker 3: Maybe not dates?
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you got Manhattan, James Madison, Kansas part of the
- 8:21Speaker 2: Champions Classic up in Chicago, Northern Arizona, Grambling State, Indiana,
- 8:27Speaker 2: Virginia as part of the acc SEC Challenge, Appalachian State, Bryant,
- 8:34Speaker 2: U of L, North Carolina, part of the CBS Sports Classic,
- 8:38Speaker 2: Sacred Heart, Gardner Webb.
- 8:41Speaker 3: And that's it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: As far as the non conference schedule.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, not great, really light. Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Now let's get into the order of games within the SEC.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Starts at Oklahoma like that, Ole Miss at Home, Missouri
- 9:03Speaker 2: at Missouri, LSU, Vanderbilt at Mississippi State, Tennessee at Texas
- 9:08Speaker 2: at Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina at Tennessee at Georgia,
- 9:13Speaker 2: Arkansas at Vanderbilt, Auburn, Texas and him and at Florida
- 9:17Speaker 2: to end the season. I looked at that in my mic. Ooh,
- 9:22Speaker 2: starts out really I shouldn't say really easy, but it
- 9:25Speaker 2: starts on the lighter side in the season, but then
- 9:29Speaker 2: towards the end of the season it starts.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Getting really difficult.
- 9:33Speaker 2: I mean, you got Alabama, South Carolina shouldn't be a
- 9:37Speaker 2: prominent rep. But at Tennessee at Georgia was a bit
- 9:42Speaker 2: of a problem with us last year. Then you got
- 9:44Speaker 2: Arkansas and Lexington at Vandy, Auburn Texas and him at Florida.
- 9:49Speaker 2: I would rather have, Now, you tell me what you think.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I would rather have those teams at the beginning of
- 9:58Speaker 2: the season in the SEC schedule and then finish a
- 10:01Speaker 2: little lighter before you get into postseason play. You're shaking
- 10:05Speaker 2: your head. No, no, tell me why.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Because what with the way this schedule sets up at
- 10:10Speaker 3: the beginning, You've got that game at Oklahoma, then you
- 10:14Speaker 3: got ol Miss at Missouri versus LSU. That is a
- 10:19Speaker 3: really good opportunity right there to start the conference slate
- 10:22Speaker 3: four and oh. And if you start the conference slate
- 10:24Speaker 3: four and oh, what does that do for the team?
- 10:27Speaker 3: It is in confidence. Hopefully it gives them a ton
- 10:29Speaker 3: of confidence moving forward. And especially in game five, when
- 10:34Speaker 3: you've got Vanderbilt coming into rep Arena, you find a
- 10:37Speaker 3: way to win that. All of a sudden, you're sitting
- 10:38Speaker 3: at five and oh, your next game is at Mississippi State,
- 10:42Speaker 3: so that feels like it could be a win. That
- 10:43Speaker 3: feels like six and oh. Yeah, what does six and
- 10:46Speaker 3: oh do to this team if they can start conference
- 10:49Speaker 3: play unblemish like that?
- 10:51Speaker 2: And then you got Tennessee at UH in Lexington on
- 10:55Speaker 2: that Saturday after that Missisippi, would.
- 10:57Speaker 3: You say, another winnable game. Yeah. So my my point
- 11:01Speaker 3: is I would much rather start off the conference slate
- 11:05Speaker 3: six six and oh, seven and oh than started off
- 11:09Speaker 3: potentially like one in five or zero to six even,
- 11:12Speaker 3: you know. So I like the early opportunities that they
- 11:16Speaker 3: have to to try to build some momentum, because if
- 11:18Speaker 3: they end up losing a bunch of those games early,
- 11:21Speaker 3: if if the schedule is flip flopped, what's gonna happen.
- 11:24Speaker 3: They're gonna lose motivation, They're not gonna be confident moving forward,
- 11:28Speaker 3: They're gonna start to question their abilities. And that's something
- 11:31Speaker 3: with that we've kind of seen out of Mark Pope
- 11:34Speaker 3: a couple of years that he's been here, and you
- 11:36Speaker 3: definitely don't want that trickling down to the team. So
- 11:38Speaker 3: I like the start of the schedule.
- 11:39Speaker 2: What if you're losing games towards the end of the season,
- 11:42Speaker 2: now you've got to go in the SEC play and
- 11:44Speaker 2: you're you're on a losing streak. Now you're in pressure
- 11:49Speaker 2: and there's a lot of pressure on you, on you
- 11:52Speaker 2: to perform well in the SEC and to go to
- 11:55Speaker 2: the NCAA tournament. And you're a little down at that point. Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 2: I mean, I guess I kind of like going in
- 12:03Speaker 2: with a win streak rather than a lose streak.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I don't think you're gonna go in with a lose streak, though.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I mean, you look at the last let's say seven
- 12:13Speaker 3: games at Tennessee at Georgia. I agree, those are both
- 12:16Speaker 3: pretty difficult versus Arkansas and Reperina. Who knows how that's
- 12:20Speaker 3: gonna go. Then you're at Vandy that's obviously gonna be
- 12:23Speaker 3: always a tough game. But then you get a game
- 12:26Speaker 3: against Auburn and a game against Texas A and M
- 12:30Speaker 3: Neither one of them scare me, right, And yeah, you
- 12:32Speaker 3: got in the season at Florida. But I don't know.
- 12:36Speaker 3: I don't think you want to be projecting a loss.
- 12:39Speaker 3: But I think everyone knows that it's gonna be a
- 12:41Speaker 3: really tough game.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Why are they trying to make this is what I
- 12:44Speaker 2: want to know. Why is the SEC trying to make
- 12:46Speaker 2: Florida rival? I get it, Florida the year before last
- 12:52Speaker 2: won the title, and UK historically has been the best
- 12:55Speaker 2: team in the SEC.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I just kind of get frustrated with the UH. I
- 13:01Speaker 2: guess because I part of me. Didn't like what Todd
- 13:03Speaker 2: Golden did last year, yelling at the crowd get the
- 13:07Speaker 2: blank out of here after Florida was just totally destroying
- 13:11Speaker 2: Kentucky and the rupp Aerna. But I just wish I
- 13:15Speaker 2: would probably be more apt to see Tennessee at the end.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I mean, back in the day, you'd see LSU, and
- 13:21Speaker 2: that was when Dale Brown, Shaquille O'Neal, they were all
- 13:25Speaker 2: a part of LSU Tiger Nation.
- 13:28Speaker 3: But why can't it beat Tennessee. I'll tell you two names,
- 13:34Speaker 3: Denzel Aberdeen.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Oh that's why I was completely forgot about that.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Okay, by the way, I saw a report yesterday that
- 13:44Speaker 3: Thomas Hawk's gonna make north of ten million and nil
- 13:48Speaker 3: and endorsement stuff. Yeah, that's insane.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Florida's putting money into basketball. You think that's a football school,
- 13:55Speaker 2: not at all.
- 13:56Speaker 3: They want.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Todd Golden's doing a bang up job there. And I'm
- 13:59Speaker 2: telling you what if any jobs come up, well win
- 14:03Speaker 2: jobs come open after this next season, and Todd Golden's
- 14:06Speaker 2: done another bang up job at Florida, They're gonna have
- 14:10Speaker 2: be hard pressed to get him away from that school.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I'm just telling you right now, you can say all
- 14:15Speaker 2: you want, I come on, Michael's it's Florida.
- 14:17Speaker 3: It's a football No.
- 14:19Speaker 2: They want to win at basketball, they want to win
- 14:22Speaker 2: at every sport. And you know what, Florida has a
- 14:24Speaker 2: lot of money, not only the state but also the
- 14:28Speaker 2: university has a lot of money to get hand out.
- 14:30Speaker 3: They got some.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Boosters down there that's done very well in life, and
- 14:36Speaker 2: they want to make sure they're winning it everything. So
- 14:38Speaker 2: I'm worried about football and I'm worried about basketball. Forget
- 14:43Speaker 2: about being one of the other. They're gonna do something
- 14:45Speaker 2: at both of them. And not only that, they're giving
- 14:48Speaker 2: a lot of money towards baseball too. The other you know,
- 14:51Speaker 2: you've heard me talk about this. The other school I'm
- 14:54Speaker 2: probably scared of then I shouldn't say scared, but really
- 14:58Speaker 2: nervous about putting an emphasis in athletics. You've heard me
- 15:03Speaker 2: say this, and I'm telling you watch out.
- 15:06Speaker 3: It's Vanderbilt.
- 15:08Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about Vanderbilt a little more and a
- 15:10Speaker 2: little later regarding baseball. But Vanderbilt is the Southeastern Conference
- 15:16Speaker 2: school that makes me the most nervous because they are
- 15:19Speaker 2: definitely putting an emphasis on athletics, which has never happened
- 15:23Speaker 2: down there before.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Do you think the growth of Nashville in general has
- 15:27Speaker 3: helped them the last ten twenty years.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I would say yes, but it's not necessarily that the
- 15:33Speaker 2: most because the people that are moving in from other places,
- 15:36Speaker 2: A lot of California people are moving to Nashville, Tennessee.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's mostly because for years Vanderbilt didn't even have an
- 15:47Speaker 2: athletic director.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Did you know that?
- 15:49Speaker 2: They just had their chancellor ran the athletic department as
- 15:52Speaker 2: part of his job. So now that they've made a
- 15:55Speaker 2: consorted effort to hire an athletic director, one that is
- 15:59Speaker 2: really going out and promoting the department. And then on
- 16:03Speaker 2: top of it all, you have a chancellor that's like, yes,
- 16:07Speaker 2: we want to succeed that. I see the benefit of
- 16:11Speaker 2: not only having a worldwide known school successful difficult to
- 16:17Speaker 2: get in, but also an athletic department that is successful.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I see the benefit on both sides. That's the difference
- 16:25Speaker 2: right there. Has nothing to do with the growth, but
- 16:28Speaker 2: it will help. The more success they have, the more
- 16:30Speaker 2: people are going to be not only interested in the
- 16:33Speaker 2: Titans and what's their hockey team name the Predators Jesus Predators,
- 16:42Speaker 2: but people will start getting interested. It's like, well, I
- 16:44Speaker 2: want to go see Vanderbilt play. Plus you know the
- 16:46Speaker 2: amount of money they spent on that football stadium and
- 16:49Speaker 2: it's really nice.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Is it done? Yo? Yeah, it was done last year. Really.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Oh my oldest son's got season tickets. He loves it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I've gone down there to see Vanderbilt play in his
- 16:59Speaker 2: season ticket and wow, what a sweet area. It's yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 2: it's it's pretty nice. But uh, anyway, uh, we gotta
- 17:08Speaker 2: take a break. So uh when we come back, I
- 17:11Speaker 2: want to talk about what Jeff Borzello said. It was
- 17:15Speaker 2: kind of surprising prediction that he met, uh, that he made.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Plus I got some football news and then you tell
- 17:22Speaker 2: me what you think of this uh basketball schedule and
- 17:27Speaker 2: if I'm wrong about this or not, but stay right there.
- 17:30Speaker 2: More just the kat's coming up five oh two, four one,
- 17:32Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. You want to text me on the whiskey?
- 17:34Speaker 5: The text line all these cats we called it change
- 18:14Speaker 5: dirty hair and Kitty Breen say, what's your scene?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Man? We got these questions, is it true?
- 18:21Speaker 1: The true Solcho Sola.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Say, Man, I don't know that me a quarter?
- 18:26Speaker 4: Won't you all cout my count?
- 18:30Speaker 3: All right?
- 18:30Speaker 2: So yesterday ESPN's Jeff for Zello was predicting something and
- 18:37Speaker 2: this caught my eye, and I'm like, Okay, this is
- 18:40Speaker 2: really interesting because who's it gonna be. He predicts that
- 18:45Speaker 2: two blue blood basketball jobs will be open next spring,
- 18:51Speaker 2: listing Kansas, Duke, and UK as the three possibilities for
- 18:57Speaker 2: the two. Now, I think one of them's kind of
- 19:00Speaker 2: Kansas exactly. Yeah, it's Bill self. He'll just probably say
- 19:05Speaker 2: I'm done with all this in il crap.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I think it's more so as health.
- 19:09Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, but I've been It's all right, then
- 19:12Speaker 2: let's just agree on this. It's a combination of all okay,
- 19:16Speaker 2: but yeah, his health as well. But Bill self will
- 19:19Speaker 2: be But I mean that which leaves you know, John
- 19:22Speaker 2: Shire and Duke and Mark Pope and UK.
- 19:25Speaker 3: I don't see it John Shire. I don't see it
- 19:29Speaker 3: being Shire well, and if Kentucky has a good season,
- 19:33Speaker 3: it won't be Pope even exactly.
- 19:35Speaker 2: So you know, we talked about it what last week.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Jack Gibbons keeps saying, Man, this team's pretty good. This
- 19:42Speaker 2: is this year. Three is gonna be really a bang
- 19:44Speaker 2: up one for Mark Pope, and I'm uh, he's looking
- 19:47Speaker 2: forward to it. Now is Is he going along corporate
- 19:50Speaker 2: line or do you think he's being truthful about this?
- 19:53Speaker 3: Is there a little bit?
- 19:54Speaker 2: This is one of those situations where you know, last
- 19:56Speaker 2: year Mark Pope was really bragging about the team. This
- 20:00Speaker 2: year he's muted himself. Congratulations Mark Pope. That's the right
- 20:05Speaker 2: way to go. Absolutely, yeah. I mean, put so much
- 20:08Speaker 2: pressure on this team out there that they got to
- 20:10Speaker 2: do really well.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Let fans gather their own opinions of this team, don't
- 20:16Speaker 3: I hate that he comes out in the offseason and
- 20:18Speaker 3: he tries to paint a picture of what he thinks
- 20:20Speaker 3: the team's gonna be. Let people get eyes on him
- 20:22Speaker 3: and then they can figure it out on their own
- 20:24Speaker 3: accord what they thinks the team's gonna be.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So has Jack Gibbons taken that responsibility then for Mark Pope?
- 20:32Speaker 4: Maybe?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope I'd rather hear from Goose than Mark. Well, yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 2: I trust Jack Gibbons eye. I mean, I just do.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I mean, by the way, I'm gonna squirrel on you.
- 20:48Speaker 2: What what's all the dislike about Paul Rodgers? Are you okay?
- 20:54Speaker 2: I'd like I consider Paul Rodgers a really good friend
- 20:57Speaker 2: of mine.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Paul Rodgers is fine. Did you great, God, did you
- 21:01Speaker 3: not miss what I said?
- 21:03Speaker 4: You hated on.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Him the entire time I'm saying, how much you don't
- 21:06Speaker 2: like him. He's terrible, absolutely not, absolutely not. If I
- 21:09Speaker 2: need to pull up my show, I would. My point
- 21:13Speaker 2: is simply, I'm sick of him being put in the
- 21:15Speaker 2: same box as Tom Leech and Don Fisher because he's
- 21:18Speaker 2: not in that box. Well, none of those guys are
- 21:20Speaker 2: in the same as Kaywood Ledford say that right now.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Both Don Fisher and Tom Leech are better than Kate.
- 21:27Speaker 3: What I've said, what I said, I've went back and
- 21:30Speaker 3: I've listened to k Wood. I think both of those
- 21:32Speaker 3: guys do better than kateble Okay, all right, but I
- 21:35Speaker 3: get it. I mean, look, Kwood's nostalgic, so I'm not
- 21:38Speaker 3: going to be able to talk anybody that's a k
- 21:39Speaker 3: Wood fan. I'm not going to be able to talk
- 21:42Speaker 3: off that ledge and I'm not trying to.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Well, it's two different styles. I mean, if you're looking
- 21:46Speaker 2: at Kwood Ledford, he did he painted a picture for you,
- 21:51Speaker 2: and you're right, it is nostalgia. I grew up with him,
- 21:53Speaker 2: I listened to him all my life, whereas Tom Leech,
- 21:57Speaker 2: I'm not going to take anything away from Tom Lee
- 22:00Speaker 2: each I considered Tom Leach, Sorry, Josh, go ahead and
- 22:02Speaker 2: have a swig. I consider Tom a really good friend.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Tom makes it exciting exactly, yeah, and Kate Wood did not,
- 22:12Speaker 3: but he's he does a great job of painting a picture.
- 22:14Speaker 3: At the same time, yes, but not the way Kwood did.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I mean, I think Tom realizes that you don't really
- 22:21Speaker 2: need to paint the picture like you used to back
- 22:23Speaker 2: in the day. Because most people are watching the game
- 22:27Speaker 2: at the same time that he's doing the play by
- 22:30Speaker 2: play of the game. I think there's a big difference
- 22:32Speaker 2: there where k would definitely had to describe it in
- 22:35Speaker 2: a way because when he first started, there were the
- 22:38Speaker 2: people were watching it on TV. They were listening to
- 22:40Speaker 2: the game on the radio. It wasn't televised. So now
- 22:44Speaker 2: Tom Leach, he knows he doesn't have to compete with that,
- 22:48Speaker 2: but he makes it exciting. I mean, the whole touchdown
- 22:51Speaker 2: Kentucky's he does a enough. I would go back and
- 22:56Speaker 2: listen to both of them, and both of them make
- 22:59Speaker 2: me excited. But one is one way and one is
- 23:02Speaker 2: a completely different way. It's just like describing eggs with
- 23:07Speaker 2: blue cars. They don't go together. Okay, sorry, speaking of
- 23:11Speaker 2: blue cars, did you see the whole stopping I've got.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I got a tight T.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Shirt on today. It's uncomfortable. Eggs and blue cars they
- 23:20Speaker 3: don't go together. Okay, I'm trying to think of something
- 23:23Speaker 3: completely opposite green eggs and ham No eggs and blue cars. No,
- 23:28Speaker 3: I'm not going Doctor Seuss eggs and blue cars. Uh.
- 23:32Speaker 2: By the way, I did think it was funny. So
- 23:34Speaker 2: Tom Leach was interviewing will Stein yesterday at the at
- 23:38Speaker 2: the luncheon that they had the kickoff luncheon, and he
- 23:41Speaker 2: was saying, yeah, he will Stein recently went to key West,
- 23:45Speaker 2: and the guy that was checking him in at the
- 23:46Speaker 2: rental car place said, guess where I went to school?
- 23:50Speaker 2: And will Stein's looking okay, where he goes? I went
- 23:53Speaker 2: to Kentucky and give pro sees to give him a
- 23:56Speaker 2: the bluest, he said, the bluest of mini bands in.
- 23:59Speaker 3: The world world. Huh.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I thought that was pretty cool. He's in key West,
- 24:03Speaker 2: Kentucky and there's a Kentucky grad giving him a car. FLI,
- 24:08Speaker 2: I said, key West, Kentucky, West Kentucky. Yeah, that means
- 24:12Speaker 2: we would be down south. But anyway, going back to
- 24:16Speaker 2: Jeff Borzello in his prediction of the blue Blood, Ah,
- 24:21Speaker 2: I any way John Shire would be out of a
- 24:25Speaker 2: job next year.
- 24:26Speaker 3: I can't see it. No, not, I can't either. Not
- 24:29Speaker 3: with the way he's recruiting. Now. He hasn't punched through
- 24:31Speaker 3: and gotten that title yet, and I'm sure Duke fans
- 24:33Speaker 3: are probably getting tired of that. But with the way
- 24:36Speaker 3: he recruits and bringing in he's bringing in the players.
- 24:39Speaker 3: He brings in a bunch of players every year, and
- 24:42Speaker 3: that's that's got to be a pretty fun way to lose.
- 24:44Speaker 2: But that's but when you bring in those players and
- 24:47Speaker 2: you don't win, I mean, does that warrant you to
- 24:52Speaker 2: be dismissed and lose your job at certain places?
- 24:55Speaker 3: Yes, and Duke probably is one of those spots. But
- 24:58Speaker 3: I just for me, But.
- 25:00Speaker 2: If he gets to the Sweet sixteen Elite eight, does
- 25:05Speaker 2: that still warrant him to be fired? I mean, what
- 25:08Speaker 2: does he need to do the next couple of years
- 25:10Speaker 2: bringing in these players that he's bringing in in order
- 25:14Speaker 2: to keep his job? Because that's kind of crazy knowing
- 25:16Speaker 2: that he's getting to an Elite eight every now and
- 25:19Speaker 2: then in the final four, but not getting anywhere else.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I feel like Duke in Kentuck here in the exact
- 25:24Speaker 3: same boat. Like moving forward, it has to be final
- 25:28Speaker 3: fours because that's the standard of both of those schools.
- 25:32Speaker 3: So hard you've reached Final four. Yeah, it's hard, it's
- 25:35Speaker 3: not it's not supposed to be easy, but that's what
- 25:39Speaker 3: you have to do. Yeah, I mean, I don't know that.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I think if Mark Pope, I don't think he has
- 25:45Speaker 3: to get to a final four necessarily this year. Maybe
- 25:48Speaker 3: maybe Elite eight, but I don't know. Shire definitely has
- 25:52Speaker 3: to get to the Final four. Yeah, because he you know,
- 25:54Speaker 3: he keeps not even getting to the Final four eight.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Didn't he two years ago? I want to say he
- 25:58Speaker 3: did two years ago.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I don't remember. I just listen. I just hope they
- 26:03Speaker 2: lose every game. As long as they lose the last
- 26:05Speaker 2: game of the season, I'm happy. That's all I want.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I want them losing the last game of the season.
- 26:12Speaker 2: And Michael Bennett is just the happiest guy in the world.
- 26:15Speaker 2: And that's so mean, but sorry, I just I just
- 26:18Speaker 2: don't like Duke. I mean, but any team out there,
- 26:21Speaker 2: I want Duke to lose every game.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Um, yeah, they get they did get to the Final
- 26:25Speaker 3: four two years ago, it was okay, good memory. So
- 26:28Speaker 3: he's been Oh that's right, that was with who is
- 26:32Speaker 3: the kid that made all that ten million dollars?
- 26:35Speaker 4: Cooper?
- 26:35Speaker 3: Yeah, Cooper Flagg. So they've been the last three years
- 26:38Speaker 3: they were Elite eight, Final four, E leadt. Yeah.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Everybody wanted to get all over Mark Pope's case because
- 26:44Speaker 2: how much he spent twenty one twenty two million on
- 26:47Speaker 2: his roster. Yet Duke paid ten million dollars for one play?
- 26:52Speaker 2: Was it ten or No? It was more than that,
- 26:53Speaker 2: wasn't it.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I don't think he cost that much. Okay whatever. By
- 26:57Speaker 3: the way, John Shires won twenty four twenty five. He's
- 27:04Speaker 3: not a guy go He's not going anywhere.
- 27:07Speaker 2: So I'm surprised. Is it that Jeff Borzello really doesn't
- 27:11Speaker 2: believe in Mark Pope and he's already gonna say that
- 27:14Speaker 2: Mark Pope's gonna lose his job because I don't see
- 27:17Speaker 2: John Shire losing his job. I was kind of surprised
- 27:20Speaker 2: he even mentioned the name John Shire. Well, he didn't
- 27:22Speaker 2: mention John, he mentioned Duke.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Well, if you throw Duke in, that gives you a
- 27:26Speaker 3: little bit of cover, so you're not just calling out Bill, Yeah,
- 27:30Speaker 3: I'm calling him out.
- 27:32Speaker 2: That's a ridiculous statement to say, well, one of the
- 27:35Speaker 2: blue bloods, either Kansas, Duke or Kentucky. Clearly it's Kentucky
- 27:39Speaker 2: he's talking about, and Kansas. Well, I know, we give
- 27:43Speaker 2: it Kansas. You're right, but he's but between Duke and Kentucky,
- 27:48Speaker 2: he's clearly talking about Kentucky. Why is he calling out
- 27:51Speaker 2: Mark Pope? He really doesn't. To me, it indicates he
- 27:55Speaker 2: doesn't believe Mark Pope will have a good season this
- 27:57Speaker 2: coming year.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Maybe that's exactly what.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Well Jay Back get rid of him in his first year.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I kind of say he has to.
- 28:04Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Really, if he does not do well, it would have
- 28:08Speaker 3: to be a colossal misstep this season. I mean you'd
- 28:14Speaker 3: have to be what do you play thirty one games?
- 28:17Speaker 3: You'd have to be like sixteen and fifteen. Oh really,
- 28:21Speaker 3: I don't, I don't. I don't see a world w
- 28:24Speaker 3: jpak gets rid of him. Okay, unless the noise from
- 28:27Speaker 3: the fan base just gets that loud on the outside.
- 28:30Speaker 3: It got that loud last year. Yeah, you're right, I'm
- 28:34Speaker 3: right about that. It's it's weird how I don't feel
- 28:36Speaker 3: like it did. But then you think back to last
- 28:39Speaker 3: season and it's.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Like I was.
- 28:40Speaker 3: That's that's how it was. Yeah, the off season it's
- 28:42Speaker 3: been cool.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Though it has been, it wasn't back in April and
- 28:48Speaker 2: May when we kept singing, well, we kept hearing everybody
- 28:52Speaker 2: go swinging, miss swing miss. So all right, let's get
- 28:56Speaker 2: to the text line five O two four one four
- 28:58Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. John here, Michael. I am super excited this morning. Okay, congratulations.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I just did a seven minute and thirty three second
- 29:07Speaker 2: one mile jog.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Wow, that's pretty quick, John. Okay, there you go. John.
- 29:11Speaker 2: I was trying to get to an eight minute mile,
- 29:14Speaker 2: but I got under it. I was listening to Justin
- 29:16Speaker 2: this morning as I was jogging, so I have to
- 29:18Speaker 2: say Justin was a big help that. Thanks Justin, you
- 29:21Speaker 2: kept my mind off the jog. You remind me, at
- 29:24Speaker 2: my age of forty, Lebron is not the only individual
- 29:31Speaker 2: that can talk about longevity when it comes to athletic ability.
- 29:36Speaker 3: That's right, John. Wow, Wow, man, seven minute thirty three seconds.
- 29:41Speaker 4: That's quick.
- 29:42Speaker 2: That is considering it takes me a lot longer to
- 29:45Speaker 2: walk that. But Josh said Michael, the shirt looks good.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Brother.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I was four hundred pounds once I'm under two hundred now,
- 29:54Speaker 2: is he telling the truth? I've seen pictures and I
- 29:59Speaker 2: still like I'm an inflatable wrapped inside of a shirt. Congratulations, Josh. Yeah,
- 30:07Speaker 2: I don't know. I just I guess tight stuff reminds
- 30:11Speaker 2: me of my weight when I was a lot heavier,
- 30:14Speaker 2: and so it just, yeah, it is. It probably is
- 30:17Speaker 2: a negative memory for me, and that's what. It just
- 30:20Speaker 2: triggered it, That's all it did. But congratulations, Josh. That's fantastic.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I'd like to know how you did it, so please
- 30:28Speaker 2: let me know. One person said, I really like this team.
- 30:33Speaker 2: You have guard play, shooters, first Round, post player, and
- 30:37Speaker 2: the unknowns of and Die and Hawthorne Pope's best team. Mmm, yeah,
- 30:46Speaker 2: kind of how I feel too. I still feel like.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It could be. Yeah, I'm not convinced it is right now.
- 30:53Speaker 2: I'm not either if if you want, because you know,
- 30:56Speaker 2: the one thing I always preach be realistic and my
- 30:59Speaker 2: realistics to Michael Bennet's coming out and said, I'm not
- 31:02Speaker 2: convinced of that right now.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I hope it is.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I still feel like last year was a potentially really
- 31:08Speaker 2: good team if you hadn't had all the injuries and
- 31:11Speaker 2: you hadn't had the locker room problem. I think what
- 31:14Speaker 2: was the bigger problem issue last year? Was it the
- 31:17Speaker 2: injury or the locker room injuries? I'm not convinced to
- 31:22Speaker 2: that either. I almost feel like the locker room was
- 31:25Speaker 2: more of the issue than the injuries. Now time you
- 31:29Speaker 2: had good backups.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean if you just imagine if you
- 31:33Speaker 3: get JQ back and what he looked like in that
- 31:36Speaker 3: Saint John's game, if he doesn't have any knee swelling,
- 31:39Speaker 3: what that does for the team the rest of the year.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Imagine if Jalen Low doesn't go out on several different occasions,
- 31:45Speaker 3: what that does for the team? Like it just if
- 31:49Speaker 3: it was anybody else on last year's team, I would
- 31:51Speaker 3: probably agree with you locker room. But the fact that
- 31:54Speaker 3: it was your point guard and who was supposed to
- 31:56Speaker 3: be your best big that speaks volumes. It was definitely injured.
- 32:01Speaker 3: What do you think of the announcement?
- 32:02Speaker 2: What was that last week that Jaden Quaint's had a
- 32:04Speaker 2: cleanup procedure done on his knee?
- 32:07Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 32:07Speaker 3: Does that make.
- 32:08Speaker 2: You feel like, Okay, we were all wrong, he really
- 32:11Speaker 2: was injured or does it make you feel no.
- 32:14Speaker 3: I thought he was injured the whole time. Oh you did. Yeah,
- 32:17Speaker 3: I questioned it.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But then because I see a lot of players out
- 32:22Speaker 2: there quitting, I think Michel Brown quit on U L
- 32:26Speaker 2: if you want to be completely honest, and I don't care.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Daron Peterson, you can make the same absolutely.
- 32:31Speaker 2: I've always been one of the guys that said Jared
- 32:35Speaker 2: Vanderbilt was one of those guys when he was at UK.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I just when I saw that, it's like, Okay, he
- 32:43Speaker 2: really was injured, and I kind.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Of felt bad.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I mean, I just it would have been fun, because
- 32:48Speaker 2: you're right, we got a little taste of what that team.
- 32:53Speaker 2: And Mark Pope evens has mentioned that. But Mark Pope
- 32:56Speaker 2: shouldn't be mentioning it anymore. He needs to move on
- 32:58Speaker 2: from that team. And I know for a fact that
- 33:01Speaker 2: it bothers him from last year still bothers him that
- 33:05Speaker 2: that team was as good as he thought it was sure,
- 33:08Speaker 2: and the fact that they went up to Saint John's
- 33:10Speaker 2: beat Saint John's and Rick Patino and nobody believed that
- 33:13Speaker 2: was gonna happen, but they were that good. So it's
- 33:18Speaker 2: just a shame. But all right, we gotta take another break.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Five two four one four fourteen fifty text me on
- 33:22Speaker 2: the Whiskey Thief five two three four fourteen fifty. Stay
- 33:26Speaker 2: right there more, Jessicat's coming right out.
- 33:29Speaker 3: You want change, well, shut him out, stop this minute.
- 33:33Speaker 3: And the guitar player staying out in Hollywood and saying
- 33:37Speaker 3: he's just trying to get some sleeps. But everyone to
- 33:41Speaker 3: play truly deeply, sin it, comec.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Rum, don't wear hot, no relief on the rise?
- 34:11Speaker 3: Who is it? I can't hear you? Leftover Salmon? Leftover
- 34:19Speaker 3: Salmon is the name?
- 34:22Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, that's another thing I will never eat leftover.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah fish. Yeah, that's that's a weird name for
- 34:33Speaker 2: a band. Okay, just letting you know I'm.
- 34:34Speaker 3: On a big weird band name kick this week. Good.
- 34:37Speaker 3: I like that.
- 34:38Speaker 2: By the way, you know you were asking me about
- 34:40Speaker 2: the hair on the La Familia team. It's Khalil Whitney
- 34:44Speaker 2: that has the biggest head of hair on that team.
- 34:47Speaker 4: My oh gosh.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Well when he lets it down, it's just like
- 34:51Speaker 2: all hair. I just that isn't this is one thing
- 34:55Speaker 2: I've always wanted to ask. My wife has a long hair.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I mean, isn't it heavy?
- 35:00Speaker 4: Oh?
- 35:00Speaker 3: It's gotta be.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's got all these braids, it's got to
- 35:04Speaker 2: be even heavier.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I mean just I've never understood the football players that
- 35:09Speaker 2: have the long hair, especially running backs and wide receivers.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Why do you have that? You're making it easy for
- 35:16Speaker 2: people to tackle you, and it's gonna be real painful
- 35:19Speaker 2: when it happens.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's a bunch of dudes. We're not out
- 35:22Speaker 3: pulling people's hair. Yeah we are. If we're going to
- 35:25Speaker 3: tackle somebody, that's the only thing I'm reaching for. A
- 35:27Speaker 3: woman's tackle football league, I guarantee that happens.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Well, I'm reaching for it. I want to hurt the dude.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I'm going to pull his hair. I don't care people
- 35:37Speaker 2: make fun of me. I got the tackle.
- 35:38Speaker 3: By the way, speaking of TVT you see your opponent
- 35:41Speaker 3: for tomorrow.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Night, I did Kansas. This thing is so scripted. Oh
- 35:46Speaker 2: is it really okay? Well, I'm starting to buy into that.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Let's let's save that for a second hour. I don't
- 35:51Speaker 2: want to get into that yet. I do want to
- 35:53Speaker 2: talk about this. Will Stein yesterday at his football luncheon,
- 35:59Speaker 2: named the staring offensive lineman ahead of fall camp.
- 36:04Speaker 3: I was kind of surprised by that.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Uh So you got ut transfer, Lanceherd, Ohio State transfer,
- 36:12Speaker 2: Tegra Shabola, I'm gonna butcher it, Okay Baylor transfer, Colton Price,
- 36:19Speaker 2: Alabama transfer Olass Uhlanin and the loan returning lineman Malachi
- 36:27Speaker 2: would Here's the thing that stood out to me.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Hang on what you have one guy returning and the
- 36:35Speaker 3: other four came from Texas, Alabama, Ohio State.
- 36:40Speaker 2: I never I never said Texas, I said ut which
- 36:44Speaker 2: is Tennessee.
- 36:45Speaker 3: But still, I mean my point stands, Yes, what about it?
- 36:48Speaker 3: That's it's like four really good football programs.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Absolutely Tennessee, Ohio State, Baylor, and Alabama.
- 36:58Speaker 3: That's huge.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Not only that, here's the other thing that stands out
- 37:02Speaker 2: Herds three hundred and five. Shabola is three hundred and
- 37:05Speaker 2: forty four. Price is two eighty uh aileen In is
- 37:10Speaker 2: three oh one in what is two eighty nine? You
- 37:13Speaker 2: have an average of three hundred and three pounds on
- 37:16Speaker 2: the starting line. How do you like that prices related
- 37:20Speaker 2: to Corey Ooh, well, ask him in a little bit.
- 37:23Speaker 3: I doubt it.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I think I think he would have been tweeting this
- 37:27Speaker 2: out constantly, probably four or five pounds no exactly. Uh,
- 37:32Speaker 2: but I looked at this and I'm like, okay, now
- 37:35Speaker 2: I have to look up what is the average weight
- 37:37Speaker 2: of a line of lineman in the SEC, and we're
- 37:41Speaker 2: still undervalued? Really, yeah, what is the average three hundred
- 37:46Speaker 2: and eleven pounds? Oh you're right there, Yeah you are.
- 37:50Speaker 2: But it does feel good knowing you've got a player
- 37:53Speaker 2: from Tennessee, Ohio State, Alabama, and Baylor. That does feel
- 37:59Speaker 2: good that he's these caliber of players to come to Kentucky.
- 38:04Speaker 2: But why do you think he went ahead and just
- 38:07Speaker 2: announced to the starting lineup's going to be.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I was kind.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Surprised by that.
- 38:11Speaker 2: It doesn't surprise really now they guess got a lot
- 38:13Speaker 2: of pressure to stay healthy. That was one of those
- 38:15Speaker 2: things you could always count on with Mark Stoops, and
- 38:18Speaker 2: it wasn't his fault. It seemed like every year for
- 38:23Speaker 2: the last what five six seven years, there would be
- 38:26Speaker 2: one key player that would go down and be out
- 38:29Speaker 2: for either a while or the season. And now that
- 38:32Speaker 2: we know who these players are, as I please don't
- 38:34Speaker 2: get injured. I just want to bubble wrap the entire
- 38:37Speaker 2: team and see what it turns out to be.
- 38:40Speaker 3: By the way, the average O lineman in the big
- 38:42Speaker 3: tens three to fourteen, it's even more yep, wow, I
- 38:48Speaker 3: mean those are some big boy is a yeah. I
- 38:52Speaker 3: actually when I was in college I was friends with
- 38:56Speaker 3: there was separate two, three, four of them. They were
- 38:59Speaker 3: all offensive line. These guys were so massive, were they
- 39:02Speaker 3: really they like you want to feel really really small
- 39:06Speaker 3: hang out with some d one offensive linemen. And that
- 39:08Speaker 3: was back when Indiana football saw like, I can't imagine
- 39:11Speaker 3: how big the dudes are now.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, but and it's and the other crazy part
- 39:17Speaker 2: is this that they're so big, but they're still so fast.
- 39:21Speaker 2: The fact that they can run up and down the
- 39:23Speaker 2: field with faster than I ever could forget about when
- 39:28Speaker 2: I was younger, or the or me today, but there
- 39:31Speaker 2: was no way I could keep up with him. It's
- 39:33Speaker 2: amazing how fast they are.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Especially the ones that get out in front of the play, right,
- 39:37Speaker 3: the ones that like are pulling around the line and
- 39:40Speaker 3: getting up the field and block it like it's nuts
- 39:43Speaker 3: how they can do.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the one thing because back in the day,
- 39:46Speaker 2: when I was younger, UK's line was not all that big,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and it's just progressively gotten big. And this has got
- 39:52Speaker 2: to be one of the biggest they've had, and I
- 39:56Speaker 2: have to say, yeah, I'm letting my heart rule my okay,
- 40:01Speaker 2: and I'm starting to buy in that maybe year one.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I know, I know what you're thinking, this is a
- 40:09Speaker 2: very difficult schedule, but I find myself I'm looking forward
- 40:14Speaker 2: to football. I want to see what will Stein can
- 40:17Speaker 2: do because I know that recruiting has taken a big
- 40:24Speaker 2: jump from the last few years, and it might be
- 40:27Speaker 2: even a bigger jump than what Mark Soopers was experiencing.
- 40:30Speaker 2: It's fun to see who he's bringing in here, who
- 40:34Speaker 2: he is talking to, who the recruits are that are
- 40:36Speaker 2: being offered.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Now. It's a big jump in a positive way. I mean,
- 40:42Speaker 3: you should be getting excited like I love that. That's
- 40:45Speaker 3: one of my favorite things about getting this new coach
- 40:47Speaker 3: is the fact that there is excitement again within conduct exactly.
- 40:52Speaker 2: UK Football did add an additional quarterback to the team yesterday.
- 40:56Speaker 2: His name is will Drakeford Junior, who's taken on a
- 41:00Speaker 2: preferred walk on and he chose UK over. I know,
- 41:04Speaker 2: I know what you're gonna think, but he chose most
- 41:06Speaker 2: Tony Book, Towson and Merrimack. He's six foot two, one
- 41:11Speaker 2: hundred and ninety five pounds out of Maryland, and he
- 41:15Speaker 2: led his high school last year to the four A
- 41:17Speaker 2: state championship and he was first team All state selection
- 41:21Speaker 2: in Maryland.
- 41:21Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Eighteen hundred yards in passing, twenty seven tds through the
- 41:26Speaker 2: air and only two interceptions.
- 41:29Speaker 3: How do you like that? He's a winner?
- 41:30Speaker 2: Now, It's just like the running back room. This is
- 41:33Speaker 2: the seventh quarterback that will Stein has brought on the
- 41:37Speaker 2: UK roster. They have seven quarterbacks? How do you keep
- 41:41Speaker 2: this many quarterbacks at happy?
- 41:44Speaker 4: God?
- 41:44Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think it's about keeping them all happy.
- 41:47Speaker 3: It's about trying to evaluate and figure out who's maybe
- 41:51Speaker 3: the best three to four of those that you want
- 41:54Speaker 3: to have in the program and for as long as possible,
- 41:57Speaker 3: And who are the two or three if they wanted
- 41:59Speaker 3: to go elsewhere than okay fine.
- 42:02Speaker 2: As soon as I saw it he was from Maryland.
- 42:04Speaker 2: You know, the first thing that ran through my mind?
- 42:07Speaker 3: What's up?
- 42:08Speaker 2: Crabcakes in football? That's what Maryland does. That's all I
- 42:11Speaker 2: ever think of when somebody talks about Maryland football. I
- 42:14Speaker 2: refer back to that one line from Wedding Crashers. That's
- 42:18Speaker 2: all I think. And it's the dumbest line in the world.
- 42:21Speaker 2: It's like, I have never thought Maryland as a football state,
- 42:25Speaker 2: have you not?
- 42:26Speaker 4: Really?
- 42:27Speaker 3: No, not for high.
- 42:28Speaker 2: School or college now Ravens. Yeah, but that's a professional team,
- 42:34Speaker 2: all right. First things you think about when it comes
- 42:36Speaker 2: to Maryland. I do think about crabcakes, crap. The other
- 42:39Speaker 2: thing is crab exactly? Basketball?
- 42:42Speaker 3: Heartbreak? Wait wait wait wait, Maryland basketball is what you
- 42:47Speaker 3: think about? Yeah, because they beat my Hoosiers in two
- 42:49Speaker 3: thousand and two.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Oh, okay, whatever. Man, I never forgive Lefty Driselle. I
- 42:55Speaker 2: think about him. He was the basketball what was he
- 42:58Speaker 2: the basketball coach back in I don't think.
- 43:00Speaker 3: So when they played in that game, No, they were,
- 43:04Speaker 3: I was. I believe it was maybe Mark Turgen. It
- 43:06Speaker 3: was Okay. Anything else you think about Maryland. And by
- 43:10Speaker 3: the way, crab cakes suck. Uh. If you're saying that
- 43:14Speaker 3: that means you're getting bad crab cakes. No, I just
- 43:17Speaker 3: they're not good.
- 43:19Speaker 2: The best crab cakes are the ones that have more
- 43:22Speaker 2: of the crab in it than they do the actual cake.
- 43:27Speaker 2: And I guarantee you're having ones that have more cake
- 43:30Speaker 2: than they do crab.
- 43:31Speaker 3: The best crab cakes are the ones that I'm not
- 43:34Speaker 3: eating and that somebod You're wrong.
- 43:36Speaker 2: I'm just telling you you need to have some actually
- 43:39Speaker 2: from Maryland, and then you will change your mind.
- 43:42Speaker 3: By the way, it was Gary Williams. It was oh
- 43:44Speaker 3: Gary Williams. Okay, how can I forget about Gary Williams.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, know easy, but uh uh yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 2: you need to change your whole thought press on that
- 43:54Speaker 2: process on that.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Yes, I just need some good ones.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Yeah you do. You need some good ones, and you
- 43:58Speaker 2: haven't had any good ones. And I's my favorite food.
- 44:01Speaker 2: So it's it's kind of astonishing that I don't like.
- 44:03Speaker 2: I could eat crabs the rest of my life and
- 44:05Speaker 2: be happy, and that would be the only thing I'd have.
- 44:07Speaker 3: So uh.
- 44:09Speaker 2: One person texted in and said, come on with the ifs.
- 44:12Speaker 2: If I went medical school, I would be a doctor.
- 44:17Speaker 2: This team is Pope's best. We will revisit in January text.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying I don't
- 44:25Speaker 2: know at this junction. What about all the fights breaking
- 44:29Speaker 2: out at the Kansas Versus Chakras game.
- 44:32Speaker 3: I didn't see that. I didn't either.
- 44:34Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I gotta go look that up. Okay, Nope,
- 44:36Speaker 2: I didn't see that. There's a lot of dislike between
- 44:39Speaker 2: those two teams right there, because.
- 44:41Speaker 3: You know, I don't know which one I wanted more?
- 44:43Speaker 3: Is it? Is it we have liked the Kansas team
- 44:46Speaker 3: to come in here, or would we rather have the
- 44:48Speaker 3: Wichita State? Now? I mean, what's more satisfying than beating
- 44:52Speaker 3: your rival in a three game series and then beating
- 44:55Speaker 3: another one of your rivals? Yeah, and in the alumni championship?
- 44:59Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Josh nexon in Shire could theoretically get an
- 45:04Speaker 2: NBA job. That's a good point, Josh, uh, not likely,
- 45:08Speaker 2: but still also, corn fritters. I ate a bunch on vacation.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I love corn fritters, corn fritters, and I'm trying to
- 45:18Speaker 2: think what else is Well, we'll talk about that when
- 45:20Speaker 2: we come back. But we got our two coming right up.
- 45:23Speaker 2: More Just the Cats, stay right there.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Okay.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Yeah, So we took the break and that was between
- 45:55Speaker 2: Kansas alumni and the Wichita State alumni.
- 45:58Speaker 3: That that was.
- 45:59Speaker 2: That was a slammed down and then they I didn't
- 46:02Speaker 2: see the handshake. You were telling me there was a
- 46:04Speaker 2: handshake fight as well. Justin Corey was saying that, Okay,
- 46:07Speaker 2: did you watch the handshake fight?
- 46:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it was not a very long video though it
- 46:11Speaker 3: wasn't couldn't see much about it, but it did look
- 46:13Speaker 3: like it pretty good practice. Yeah.
- 46:15Speaker 2: I mean, those are two teams that don't like each other.
- 46:19Speaker 2: There's there's a little bit of jealousy between Wichita and
- 46:23Speaker 2: I don't think Kansas is jealous.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Of which Wichita won this tournament last year, so it
- 46:28Speaker 3: probably is. Oh, is that what it is?
- 46:30Speaker 2: So it's just the but but if you're talking about
- 46:32Speaker 2: Kansas University and Wichita State, Kansas University is not really
- 46:38Speaker 2: jealous of which.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Yaw.
- 46:40Speaker 2: Now I can see Wichita State being jealous of Kansas
- 46:43Speaker 2: University though, because that's for bigger school predominantly known as
- 46:47Speaker 2: historically known as the school in the state of Kansas
- 46:51Speaker 2: when it comes to basketball. So I just like make
- 46:55Speaker 2: a little more what what kind of chair are you
- 46:58Speaker 2: sitting in? By the way, My goodness, but uh, thing's loud.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Adjusting yourself sounds like he's relieving. Nobody knows what you're
- 47:05Speaker 2: talking about. I haven't introduced I know, all right, well
- 47:07Speaker 2: it's Tuesday, so go ahead and introduce him.
- 47:15Speaker 3: I mean, all right, this Tuesday.
- 47:28Speaker 2: You know if that means the one and only Corey
- 47:30Speaker 2: Price is with us today. Corey, good morning, my good friend.
- 47:33Speaker 3: How are you.
- 47:35Speaker 6: I'm doing good and I am the best seat Price
- 47:39Speaker 6: involved with you? You you care right now? Coldon Price
- 47:42Speaker 6: is ranked number two. It's not your cousin, uh second cousin? Actually,
- 47:47Speaker 6: oh he is.
- 47:49Speaker 3: No. See I knew it. You just you had me
- 47:53Speaker 3: all excited for a second. Why would you buy it?
- 47:56Speaker 3: Why would you buy that? Yeah, because Corey's not a
- 47:59Speaker 3: good salesman and you just said I'll buy it anyways.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Yeah I did. But you know what, Corey doesn't lie.
- 48:04Speaker 2: He doesn't appear to be the kind of person that
- 48:06Speaker 2: would ever turn around and just not tell the truth.
- 48:10Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Unless it's about his girlfriend down to Etown that he
- 48:14Speaker 2: doesn't like talk about.
- 48:15Speaker 3: That's true. He's right there lying in front of my face. Hey,
- 48:19Speaker 3: week's rich exactly? Why are your cheeks so rid? Because
- 48:22Speaker 3: I'm howks I'm wearing this set? Well take it off?
- 48:25Speaker 3: Why are you wearing a hoodie? It was eighty two
- 48:26Speaker 3: degrees and I walked out of my house. It's chili
- 48:29Speaker 3: in my office at work. Okay.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So it is interesting because when I go to restaurants.
- 48:36Speaker 2: My wife will now tell me because you know, I'm
- 48:39Speaker 2: always cold because of my hypothyroid, which creates weight and
- 48:44Speaker 2: makes me always cold. So she's always like, Michael, take
- 48:49Speaker 2: a jacket. You know it's going to be cold in
- 48:51Speaker 2: that restaurant. And I'm like, but it's like ninety freaking
- 48:55Speaker 2: degrees outside. And we went to this restaurant and it
- 48:57Speaker 2: was cold in there, so I was I was thankful
- 49:00Speaker 2: you go.
- 49:00Speaker 3: See. I told you though, So I'm right there with you.
- 49:02Speaker 6: I've always heard warm heart, cold cold hands. So maybe
- 49:06Speaker 6: maybe you have a warm heart.
- 49:08Speaker 2: I hope, so I doubt it. Also, you know, big
- 49:12Speaker 2: feet means big shoes, so big socks, big socks. Yes,
- 49:18Speaker 2: that's exactly what it means. Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I like a big stomach, tight shirt. I like your
- 49:23Speaker 3: shirt's buttoned up to the top. You forgot the top it.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I got to pull the Corey Price I did. There,
- 49:31Speaker 2: we go respect that. That's that's staff right there.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Yeah, before we start, did you see the last two
- 49:37Speaker 3: shows of the of the World War two thing with some.
- 49:41Speaker 2: I have not watched it yet. Yeah, he turned it on.
- 49:43Speaker 2: It's like, Nope, I don't want to get into this.
- 49:44Speaker 6: I don't want to spoil it, Michael, but a certain
- 49:47Speaker 6: country one and I'll let you watch it and see.
- 49:51Speaker 2: Have you ever seen that bit that they show of
- 49:53Speaker 2: Norm McDonald talking about uh, there was one country that
- 49:58Speaker 2: makes him the most nervous, and it's Germany because they
- 50:02Speaker 2: wanted to go against the world. I mean, it's one
- 50:06Speaker 2: of the funniest comedy stand ups. I've ever seen him
- 50:09Speaker 2: talk about it. Yeah, I've seen that. Yeah, you gotta
- 50:11Speaker 2: go back and see Norm McDonald Germany versus the world.
- 50:15Speaker 2: It is so funny to watch him talk about it.
- 50:18Speaker 2: I'm a big Norm McDonald fan exactly.
- 50:22Speaker 6: This week is July twenty sixth through August. First start
- 50:26Speaker 6: off July twenty sixth, two thousand and two, the spy
- 50:29Speaker 6: comedy film Austin Powers and gold Member is released in theaters.
- 50:33Speaker 6: I know you're not a big Mike Myris fan.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I'm a big Mike Myers fan.
- 50:38Speaker 4: Oh.
- 50:38Speaker 3: I love Mike Myers.
- 50:39Speaker 2: But the crazy part that that movie series, I just
- 50:44Speaker 2: I was completely uninterested, and I know a lot of
- 50:47Speaker 2: people loved it. It was too silly for me, That's
- 50:51Speaker 2: the point. And now they got new commercials with all
- 50:53Speaker 2: the cast members in it.
- 50:55Speaker 3: Verizon right. Is that what it is? A cell phone?
- 50:58Speaker 3: I think you're right.
- 50:59Speaker 2: And it was kind of weird scene the one actor
- 51:01Speaker 2: try and play Robert Wagner.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Roblo, Rob Low. Yeah.
- 51:07Speaker 2: He tried to impersonate and it just he did. Okay,
- 51:10Speaker 2: I like Rob Loo Yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 6: Directed by Jay Roach, it stars Michael Caine, Seth Green,
- 51:17Speaker 6: Beyonce Knowles Carter, Mike Myers, Fred Savage, Mindy Sterling, Verne Troyer,

- 51:39Speaker 6: for Best Comedic Performance for Mike Myers.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Who Scoots loves by the Way? Who? What? Who Scoots
- 51:46Speaker 3: loves by the way? I don't know what that is?
- 51:48Speaker 3: At a reference Scoots loves MI Mike Myers, Oh it's
- 51:51Speaker 3: ditch you joke? Okay, I got it.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 3: July twenty seventh, two thousand and seven, the animated comedy
- 51:58Speaker 3: film The Simpsons Movie is to release the theaters Big
- 52:01Speaker 3: Simpson's Guy.
- 52:02Speaker 2: I was on the TV series but not the movie.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Are they making a second one of those? Corey, I
- 52:08Speaker 3: heard they were. I think it's coming out next year.
- 52:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Cool.
- 52:12Speaker 6: Directed by David Silverman, it features the voices of Hank Azaria,
- 52:16Speaker 6: Dan Castell, Lenetta, Nancy Cartwright, Pamela Hayden, Julie Kavner, Tres McNeil,
- 52:25Speaker 6: Harry Sheer, and.

- 52:29Speaker 6: Film grosser approximy one hundred and eighty three point one
- 52:32Speaker 6: million dollars domestically, making the tenth highest ruction film of
- 52:36Speaker 6: two thousand and seven, and the film was not made
- 52:38Speaker 6: for four Annie Awards, winning none.
- 52:43Speaker 3: Hank Azaria is probably one of the most underrated comedic
- 52:47Speaker 3: actors out there. Well, I guess he's just known for
- 52:50Speaker 3: for his voice. What's an Annie Award? I think it's
- 52:54Speaker 3: like films for awards for and themated films. I'm pretty sure.
- 52:59Speaker 2: Okay, all right, yeah, because you know what other movies
- 53:02Speaker 2: Hanka's area has been in. Isn't he isn't he brockmar Yes, Yes,
- 53:09Speaker 2: he's that. He was in a movie called Uh Along
- 53:14Speaker 2: Came poly hilarious role. He was also in the Robin
- 53:19Speaker 2: Williams movie based in Miami.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Bird Cage.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Oh okay, and he was unbelievably funny in that movie. Oh,
- 53:30Speaker 2: I love that guy anytime I'm watching between him and
- 53:35Speaker 2: who's the guy you were talking about yesterday Bucherry? But yes,
- 53:40Speaker 2: he's another guy I think is unbelievably funny.
- 53:44Speaker 6: Steve Shimi has a face for radio.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Yes he does. But you know what, don't come on,
- 53:52Speaker 2: you're not thinking, hey, but but he's hilarious. I mean
- 53:56Speaker 2: he was in the movie The Dude. Oh, come on,
- 54:00Speaker 2: Jeff Bridges, The Big Lebowski, and he was unbelievably funny
- 54:04Speaker 2: in that. So all right, sorry, I got totally trade films.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 6: July eighteenth, nineteen fifty four, Michael Win saw this when
- 54:12Speaker 6: he went when he's in high school. The crime drama
- 54:16Speaker 6: film On the Waterfront is releasing figures. Did you ever
- 54:19Speaker 6: see that?
- 54:19Speaker 3: Never even heard of it? Oh?
- 54:22Speaker 6: Directed by Eliyah Kazan, stars Marlon Brando, Lee J Cobb,
- 54:29Speaker 6: Pat Henning, Carl Maldon, uh Eva, Marie Saint and Rod Steiger.
- 54:36Speaker 3: So you're telling me you saw this movie?
- 54:38Speaker 6: I did because at UK I think my sophomore junior
- 54:41Speaker 6: year I took a film history class.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Did you really I did?
- 54:45Speaker 4: Wow?
- 54:46Speaker 3: Well it did?
- 54:47Speaker 5: You?
- 54:48Speaker 3: All right? For what I have to know.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Why did you think of thinking this is gonna be
- 54:53Speaker 2: a good class because it clearly wasn't for accounting, which
- 54:56Speaker 2: you got your degree in.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Ok, well it's math, be close enough. Uh math? Okay?
- 55:01Speaker 6: I love movies, and I mean, obviously I don't take
- 55:03Speaker 6: I mean almost customer math obviously.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Well what did you learn.
- 55:07Speaker 2: From this class? I learned that I love movies more,
- 55:11Speaker 2: I know. I mean that's pretty.
- 55:14Speaker 6: You don't have to take something from every college I
- 55:17Speaker 6: understand you ever took. Yeah, well, unfortunately I did.
- 55:20Speaker 2: I didn't take any fun classes justin What made you
- 55:23Speaker 2: think to take a class like this that I use?
- 55:25Speaker 3: So I was going for a telecom minor, and it
- 55:28Speaker 3: was one of the classes that I could have taken.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Thought telecom communications. I didn't know there was such a
- 55:35Speaker 2: degree as telecommunications. You learned how to use a telephone?
- 55:38Speaker 2: Is that what you were doing?
- 55:39Speaker 3: I don't really know what telecommunications is.
- 55:41Speaker 2: If we're being on it, I feel you are a
- 55:43Speaker 2: minor in telecom and you don't know why.
- 55:46Speaker 3: I feel like I probably use it every day in
- 55:48Speaker 3: some capacity. Well, you use your cell phone exactly.
- 55:52Speaker 6: Uh So in my class, we had to present a
- 55:55Speaker 6: movie to the class. And I can't remember if we
- 55:57Speaker 6: picked or if you picked it Forest, but this is
- 55:59Speaker 6: the movie I had to present two of the class.
- 56:02Speaker 2: And so you presented this movie right here yep to
- 56:05Speaker 2: the class. Interesting And once you watched the movie, did
- 56:09Speaker 2: you enjoy it? I mean, or did you dislike it
- 56:14Speaker 2: even more because you had to present?
- 56:15Speaker 3: No.
- 56:15Speaker 6: I mean, it's got branded with it, so I mean,
- 56:17Speaker 6: obviously it's pretty awesome. It's it's not my type of
- 56:20Speaker 6: genre per se, So I mean I wasn't like in
- 56:23Speaker 6: love with it, but I mean it's still a good film.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, Corey Michelle says, speak up a little. Okay,
- 56:32Speaker 3: there you go. The film gross approximately my.
- 56:35Speaker 6: Gosh, nine point six million dollars domestically, make it the
- 56:43Speaker 6: ninth highest grousing film with nineteen fifty four, the year
- 56:46Speaker 6: My Mom was born.

- 56:49Speaker 6: In two thousand and five, the American Film Institute ranked
- 56:52Speaker 6: the line you don't understand. I could have had a class.

- 56:57Speaker 6: been somebody instead of a bum, which is what I am.
- 57:00Speaker 6: Number three once list of the top one hundred quotes
- 57:02Speaker 6: in American cinema history.
- 57:04Speaker 3: I have never heard that quote before. I could have been,

- 57:09Speaker 3: I that famous. Yeah, let's see if you recall this one.

- 57:23Speaker 2: I could not care less about anything that comes with
- 57:28Speaker 2: that family over there. I'm sorry she's no longer alive
- 57:31Speaker 2: and how she passed away, but I don't care. No
- 57:35Speaker 2: one should have kings and queens anymore in a country,
- 57:38Speaker 2: a country I would lose my mind if I had
- 57:41Speaker 2: part of my money was going to a family, well
- 57:44Speaker 2: part of my money times.
- 57:45Speaker 3: I do live that way now. But you do have
- 57:48Speaker 3: a wife and kids. Yeah? Yeah.
- 57:50Speaker 4: Uh.
- 57:50Speaker 6: The wedding took place at Saint Paul's Cathedral, London. There
- 57:55Speaker 6: were three thousand, five hundred guests in attendance and estimated
- 57:59Speaker 6: seven hundred and fifty million people watch the wedding live
- 58:02Speaker 6: on TV.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Wasted down the world. Yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 6: The cost of the wedding was estimated to be forty
- 58:09Speaker 6: eight million dollars, which today would be approximately one hundred
- 58:11Speaker 6: and seventy six point.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Three million dollars yees.
- 58:15Speaker 6: And Diana's wedding dress cost nine thousand British pounds, which
- 58:20Speaker 6: today would be approximately sixty six thousand US dollars.
- 58:23Speaker 3: For a freaking dress you get into the royal family corps.
- 58:27Speaker 6: I do not, but I just know that this was
- 58:29Speaker 6: a pretty big deal, obviously, since it was it was
- 58:32Speaker 6: a quarter a court of a billion people or three
- 58:34Speaker 6: courts of a billion people.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Washing I didn't care, still don't care. I'm sorry.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Yeah, And that idiot king over there divorced her and married.
- 58:44Speaker 3: Oh.
- 58:44Speaker 2: I shouldn't say, but I always thought Diana was one
- 58:48Speaker 2: of the prettiest women in the world, and the fact
- 58:50Speaker 2: that he did was stay married to her, would an idiot.
- 58:55Speaker 6: Don't hold back, Michael, and tell me how you really feel. Okay,
- 58:58Speaker 6: she's beautiful.
- 59:00Speaker 3: I should say.
- 59:01Speaker 2: She was absolutely beautiful. And the if now was just
- 59:06Speaker 2: like man, I'd kiss a mule before I let's move on.

- 59:48Speaker 2: of his first films. Uh kids, Brent Jesse Eisenberg.
- 59:54Speaker 3: He's such a loser. Wow, Why is he a loser?
- 59:58Speaker 3: He just looks like such a dowey. I just I've

- 1:03:50Speaker 6: nominated for eighteen Choice Awards, winning two Choice Movie Villain
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: and Choice Movie. Your parents didn't want you to see.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: I don't don't know how you cannot like that. You
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: liked that film series, didn't you? And that's one of
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: those situations where you know there are times where sequels
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: are not good. I thought those just kept getting better.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I really I loved the reunion. I loved all of them.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: I thought all of them and probably the last one
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: was my favorite. I mean, it's pretty hard to top
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: the first one, for it it is, but it came out.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I mean, the whole apple pie scene is unbelievable.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: It came out of a time where you know, I
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: was at the age where that it meant a lot,
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: those those movies so kind of you know, that's why
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: it stops for me. Yeah, the first I understand it.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: It came out.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: I think it was on social media yesterday, well yesterday
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: or day before was the forty second anniversary of Caddy Shack,
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: and I thought that was amazing.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: Might I think it came up before eighty four, didn't.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: It eighty one?
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: And so yeah, it'd be okay, be forty forty five
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: year anniversary of Caddy Shack and I just like And
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: it was on TV last night. Of course I had
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: to watch it. I mean, what you buy this hat
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: and you get a free bowl of soup. I mean
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: you go through every line. I'm saying, every single line
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: would have been forty six Okay, thank you. Yeah, I'm
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: talking to the numbers guy that didn't get the name.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Well one did it come out in eighty.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Yeah, wow, nineteen eighty.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: The line where the guy asked, how do you measure
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: yourself against.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Chevy Chase? Yeah? Height by height? I love that.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Did you hear one about the.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: The Catholic, the Jew and the black boy? Black boy?
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Why you son of a? I mean, I just it's
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: it's just awesome. I love that humor.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: It's good.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: I mean it is. I mean, you got Brian Dole Murray.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Who's Bill Murray's brother. Bill Murray's in it. Harold Ramis
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: is who Uh, if you don't know who Harold Ramis,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: go look him up. He is who directed it, right,
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: he was. He was also in as an actor Ghostbusters,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: and he was in the other one they had down here,
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: the Army movie, Uh Stripes, that was filmed down in
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Fort Knox and Louisville. I mean, Harold Ramus was hilarious.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: And the whole scene where Bill Murray is hitting the
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: flowers acting like he's about to become the Masters Champion.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: I mean, and you know that was all ad libbed.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: That was not rehearsed. That was not a part of
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: the script or any of it, and it's just like
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: unbelievably funny.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: I mean it had two of the best actors at
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: that time, Chase and Murray, so.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Jevy Chase, Bill Murray, Rodney, Dangerfield of course Ted Knight,
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: who was unbelievably funny. He was judged mails yep, And
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: I was just like, I could talk about that movie.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: That probably is my all time favorite movie.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: It's Caddy Shack. It's up there for me. I know
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: it's number one. It's it's up there. What is your
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: number one comedic movie? Said before, and I'll keep saying
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: it dumb And that's right.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: You have said that before, Yeah, which makes me look
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: at you and think, yeah, you're dumb, and you're getting dumber.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: So anyway, probably anyway, justin your all time favorite comedic
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: movie is, oh you know this?
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, Ed, Okay, absolutely yeah. I've seen it seventy
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: five times, Corey and I laugh. Have you really laughed
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: just as hard as my goodness? I freaking love that? Okay?
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: All right, then, well I'm happy for you, but I
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: mean it's good. Yeah, it's not the best. One person
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: texted in and said Steve Buscemi was a New York Firefighter
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: before he became an actor, and then he went back
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: and helped out during nine to eleven. Did y'all know that?
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: I did know that. That's pretty impressive.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: That is pretty Rob Low is playing the younger number
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: two while Robert Wagner is the actual age number two character.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, that was pretty good. I mean I
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: enjoyed it thoroughly, but.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: I knew that I had heard my son was telling
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: me about that. I think they talk about Steve Ashimi
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: at the nine to eleven memorial up in New York City,
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: and it's just like, can you imagine just you know,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: like I'm going to quit acting right now and go help.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: I mean, that's how much you love New York. Pretty cool, exactly.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: It really is kind of like the who was the
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: football player played in the NFL for the Cardinals?
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Pat Tillman? Pat?
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Pat Tillman doing what he did? That that you
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: talk about American, that's your American.
- 1:08:32Speaker 6: And lots of great baseball players left in the forties
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: stop playing and.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Go to World War Two. Lots of actors that Jimmy
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Stewart did it and famously.
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: It just it's just there is actually a movie coming
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: out about Jimmy Stewart. I think I love the date,
- 1:08:50Speaker 6: but I saw a trailer for it and I think
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: it kind of details him Leaven acting to go go
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: to the War.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Really.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you talk about old movies that I love to watch,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: they were always Jimmy Stewart.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Ones It's a Wonderful Life. Definitely.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my youngest son's favorite movie Christmas movie.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: It's It's probably number two for me.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: And you know it did. It did not do well
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: at the box office when it came out. So anyway, Corey,
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: always fun having you. You're going to the game tomorrow night,
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: I assume I am. I'm not really sure.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: I haven't watched a whole lot of film on the
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: Kansas alumni team or punks. I can tell from last
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: night it might get at a little antsy out. There
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: be a rematch of the twenty twelve finals, so hopefully
- 1:09:39Speaker 6: it's the same result, and that I think if we win,
- 1:09:45Speaker 6: do we host Sunday?
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: You know, I don't know where the I don't know
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: where the final is either. Hopefully it is that memorial,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: but it would be awesome. So it would be awesome
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: if it was there. But I think for some reason.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I do believe we hosted on Sunday in Lexington. If
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: we win, that should be a crazy crowd.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: I hope.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: So.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: I mean it was you and I were talking about
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: how many people were really there for the game on
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Sunday and you said it was fairly full in the
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: lower level, but the upper level is completely zero. I'm
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: really disappointed about that.
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: I mean it's I don't excuse but it's a pretty
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: quick turn turnaround from from from came the game, so
- 1:10:28Speaker 6: they don't have a huge time frame to sell tickets
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: once get well.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: What's gonna happen? You you think if UK wins. I'll
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: ask both of you this. If you think UK wins
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: it all in the TBT, do you think people will
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: care about it as much next year or or you
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: think it'll be not as interesting anymore.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: I think people care more. Do you really you got
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: a championship to defense? Yeah, you're right, Oh that you
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: got to defend.
- 1:10:52Speaker 6: It will also depend on who comes back from the
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: team this year. Like I believe it's gotta be a
- 1:10:57Speaker 6: full reboot. Well, I think Stein said that this last
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: year playing he has said that. I guess mine, Stein,
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: I guess you know if it win at all, I'm sure.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: All of them to come back. You know, can we
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: trade Willie Colly for will Will just swap out Stein's
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: Oh will Stein the coach, I bet he could ball.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: Come on, he's.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Kind of he's kind of shorts. I don't know, but yeah,
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: but I'm with Justin. I bet that that is the
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: guy I would never want to get in a fight with.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: I bet will Stein would would be anybody else. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: I bet he's sneaky crazy as far as a fight,
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: he's kind of small in stature. But yeah, I hope
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: will Stein. Mark Stoops, I'm taking will Stein.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: You're crazy? Am I really? Neither of those guys are fighting?
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Mark Stoops? Oh yeah he would, oh Mark Stoops? Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: I grew up in northeast Ohio. I'm sure.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Mark Stoops against John Caliperry, I'm taking Stoops
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: over over cal any and all day. No, not at all, exactly.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: We saw that when he was going against Cheney.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: Yep, yep. Well you know I'm right. I am so
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: right about that. Cheney was wanting to do some yes
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: he was. He wanted damage.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but anyway, all right, Well, good luck tomorrow night.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Hopefully you have a good time to be safe driving
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: over and come back. We'll see you next Tuesday.
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: Okay, hopefully we have we hopefully the team has two
- 1:12:36Speaker 6: million dollars.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: Next time I see you, you should get a little
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: bit of that.
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: I'll ask for like seven bucks or some Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: just pay for my ticket you, I mean your approved
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: media wise right all the way through, and they give
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: us a voucher for eleven dollars at the yeah.
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: Eleven bucks. So what does that get you?
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: A saltine h tender basket is only nine ninety nine now.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: So and you can't even get a drink? Uh well,
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: drinks are free oh for for for press so oh yeah,
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: press over here. Yeah, got the press here, all right,
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: quote unquote press. Well, good for you to have fun
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: and we'll see you next tuesday, all right, and.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: All I do hold on Michael one day you may
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: be able to be Scoots Thunder buddy life and is
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: always sucking Scoots. And please check the back seat. There
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: you go, there's yeah, check the backseat, all right, take
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: a break right now, Thank you, Corey Price. Always fun
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: having you here. We'll take a break right now when
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: we come back got. I got a few more things
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: talk about, including a wedding from the Minnesota Twins.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Wait till you hear this one. That's risk the Baby.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: Star Clean.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: Cab Star Bill, your hand touching man, Jilly.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I like this another song.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: It's interesting.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: So yesterday, I don't know if you saw this or not,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: UK basketball assistant coach Mo Williams and his wife gave
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: birth to their eighth child eight you heard me.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: We're still doing that in twenty twenty six. Yeah, I
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: mean I kind of made me wonder is he Mormon
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: or Catholic or Catholic? Exactly? Is that? Is that? Well?
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: My grandparents are you ready for this? My dad was
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: one of twelve. Yeah, and they were Methodists. They weren't.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: My dad says, hey, we were Methodists. We weren't Catholic,
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: but we were sexy Methodists. And I never understood the joke,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: and everybody would always laugh.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: I still to this day, don't understand that joke exactly.
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: Yet my dad would get everybody laughing. And but can
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: you imagine, because I have cousins that were that are
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: older than aunts and uncles that I have, that's just crazy.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: So for them to have. They've got one child playing
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: at UK and one child in diapers being born at UK.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: How crazy is that?
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: I mean i'd be I'd be probably older than some
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: of my aunts or uncles if really so. My grandma,
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: my grandparents had eight kids and then the ninth one
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: they lost, so they took that as ah, they took
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: that as a sign to stop having kids. But who
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: knows where they would have actually stopped, and I would
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: have maybe been older that did that. Yeah, Wow, that's
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: that is crazy. I just can't. Yeah.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: I guess I didn't realize it until I got older
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: in life that my cousin's older than my uncle. I mean,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: that's just I just I can't imagine having a child
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: and your parents are having a kid at the same time.
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: It's like, this is just weird. I can't Congratulations Moe Williams.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: I mean I can't either. I mean not peace and quiet,
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: yeah exactly. I mean, you're trying out there to recruit
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: for everybody, and uh, you got a crying baby at
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: the house.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: I mean, just wow, that's uh. But I'm got to
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: deal with crying agents all day and then that's got
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: to be the worst part, isn't it. It's got to
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: be working with agents, not working with trying to recruit kids.
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: I'm sure for you, yeah, for sure, and not probably
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: used to be the parents, but guarantee.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: Now it's agents. Oh I didn't think about that. Now
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: you've got to deal with parents, agents, and the recruit themselves.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: Yep. Oh boy.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: And then you're eighteen kids. Yeah, that would be tough.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw this or not yesterday,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: but it was hilarious. It was the entertainment I needed.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: The Orioles played the Tigers and the game was delayed
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: due to a squirrel that thank you.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: We'll just go ahead and play. I'm sorry, no, no, no,
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: it's all right. I did not mean to hit that.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: No, I promise you. It's okay. But the day and
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: I want you to play. This is the Orioles. Jason
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: Bennetti announcer, and I thought played by playing announced. I
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: thought he did an incredible job as they were trying
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: to get the squirrel off the field.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: Go ahead, The chase for the squirrel is on, and
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: the squirrel is in the corner, and the squirrel is
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: dill eluding an entire horde of screwmembers had the squirrels
- 1:18:01Speaker 3: three once again. Hemn No, I won't be hemden, I
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: have freedom on my mind, trying to go between the legs,
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: and eventually he gets away again and hops through the
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: towel and ops through another towel.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: The force field is activated.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Towels can't stop him. Maybe they can the crown. I
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: love that the crowd is booing that they caught the squirrel.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: That's brilliant.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Jason Bennetti did a phenomenal job with this, and the
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: force be with the towel. I mean, it's just it
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: was awesome.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: And then the fact that the crowd literally booed the
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: ground screw for catching the squirrel, I thought was just
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: did you see the one Tigers player It wasn't Tigers,
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: or it might have been Orioles player just tried to
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: scoop it up with his club and throw it to
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: the stands.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: It's like, and that's a lawsuit that's getting ready to
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: happen right there. The squirrel lands on my wife for me,
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: and I'm all scratched up, and he just trying to
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: scoop it up and.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: Throat to the fans. I thought that was awesome.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: If you haven't seen the video, It's everywhere on social
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: media and you can find it out there and just
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: watch him chasing the squirrel. Is nothing but pure entertainment
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: right there. And it looks like the ground screws having
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: fun too. It's pretty good. Yeah, yeah. And the one
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: poor guy's getting ready to fall as he's trying to
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: get the dow on the squirrel. It's it's just awesome.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: The other thing I want to talk about as far
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: as Major League Baseball, if you haven't seen it or not, but.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: The Minnesota Twins have literally four players getting married on
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: the same day. Really, yes, November fourteenth is a popular
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: date for all four of these players. You would have
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: thought the wives or the girlfriends would have talked and said,
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: we're gonna have our because now these players are going
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: to find out who their closest friends are on the team.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: True, because you know they're all going to get invited
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: to these weddings. And I think it's funny that the
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: manager for the Minnesota Twins, Derek Shelton, has already said
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: I can't make it to any of them because I'll
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: be celebrating my own wedding anniversary.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: So he's out to all of them. That's probably it
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: is as Yeah, he can't go to any of them.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: I mean, now you're telling players you can't go to
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: the wedding at all, which I'm relieved. But the question
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: I had for you is because they had to do
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: it for the fall because of the season. You know,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: you can't do a spring wedding. But is it fall
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: the worst time of year to get married? Wouldn't that
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: technically be winter? Middle of November?
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: Is it?
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: I don't think it's. I think it's I think it's
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: still fall. I consider November wind. Do you really I've
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: is considered a fall, but you got football going on?
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: To me, fall is the worst time of year to
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: have a wedding, bar nun bar.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: You're not if you want your guest paying attention. Yeah,
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: I agree.
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, because one person texted out while that no one
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: mentioned that that's uh the day that LSU and Texas
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: are playing, which I thought was hilarious.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Tweet that game is gonna be horrible. Yeah, but it
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: was just a joke. Okay, it was a joke. Justin
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: my gosh, man, that game's gonna be horrible.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: It was a joke. I thought the joke was funny.
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: But uh, anyway, I just I've never liked going to
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: a fall wedding because first thing I look at I
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: By the way, guess what I'm being forced to go
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: to a fall wedding this year? Yes, it happens to
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: be the same weekend as Breeders Cup.
- 1:21:53Speaker 3: Oh no, oh, yeah, I better get that phone charged up.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Yep, I'm going to Breeders Cup at Keenland on Friday.
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: I can't go Saturday. I've already been instructed, Michael. It
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: doesn't matter. We're not going. We're going to be in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: I'm like, freaking freak freak free freak freak freak. Okay,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: might have said something else, but I gotta be in Nashville, Tennessee,
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: the city I'd loathe the much of any city in
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: this country for a wedding. But I'm going because I
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: love the young lady that's getting married so and her
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: mom and dad. So I'm going, but I'm not happy. Okay,
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: I get to miss Breeder's Cup at Keeenlin, Ah. People
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: from outside Kentucky don't know what horse racing means to
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: people inside Kentucky. Am I the only one that feels
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: this way? Breeders' Cup? Is the biggest day in horse racing. Sorry,
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: Kentucky Derby, Breeders Cup's bigger anyway. I don't have an opinion.
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: You're I was gonna say you're off.
- 1:22:55Speaker 3: They quiet. I don't know horse racing well enough to
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: have an opinion. Really well, here's the reason why I
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: think Brita's Cup. I personally don't know why Breeders Cup
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: gets the love that it does because every race is huge.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: That's why I know that Kentucky Derby, you got Kentucky Derby,
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Kentucky Oaks Day, You've got Kentucky Oaks. There are other
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: big races, but these are big races on the Breeders Cup.
- 1:23:18Speaker 3: I love Breeders Cup, so one of last year going
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: to Delmar big bucket list for me. I loved it.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: Anyway, Hey, we gotta take our last break Fibo two
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty. I promise I'll get to
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: your text as soon as we get back.
- 1:23:31Speaker 4: Stay right there.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: You know little music news where you disappointed because he
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: was coming here. He was gonna play at the Iroquois Amphitheater.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: The news from last week that David Lee Roth has
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: canceled the rest of his tour due to lack of
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: ticket sales, and I thought it was kind of cool.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: Not cool, but it was really nice of Sammy Hagar
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: immediately putting out a video and saying how sorry he
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: is to hear that. In any time he wants to
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: come join he and the former bass player from Van
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Halen to join his band and do a couple of songs,
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: he'd be more than welcome to have him come do that.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. I thought that was really nice. But
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: a lot of people been all over the David Lee
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Roth situation where he's not the David Lee Roth of old,
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: and it's kind of sad to see some of these
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: guys out there.
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: We talked about John bon Jovi on this show and
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: he abruptly ended a concert last week because he evidently
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: had a sinus infection. He said, everybody save you to
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: it and he had been playing like two and a
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: half hours, and he's like, yeah, I'll play more for you.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: It's like, oh my gosh. I respect that, But the
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: old David Lee Roth thing, I just I feel like
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: it's kind of sad. I think, if I remember correctly,
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: his dad used to be a professor at IU. I
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: think he was born in Bloomington. By the way, I
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: know there.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Was a Roth that played for our basketball team. Oh really,
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Matt Roth in twenty ten. Really interesting. Okay, a couple
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: of things I want to get to. Number one is,
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: of course I just lost it. But let me look
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: this up because it has been of breaking news right now.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: Ohio State is entering a new corporate partnership. This is
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: Ohio State University with JP Morgan Chase that includes jersey
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: patches for all thirty six.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: Ohio State teams. Per industry sources, this is expected to
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: yield Ohio State nearly seventeen million dollars a year, an
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: eye popping number that expected to be an industry leader.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: This is just the beginning of college sports becoming NASCAR. Absolutely,
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: So they're gonna be wearing patches on their jersey for
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: all that money.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: Yeah, but they won't. The whole jersey won't be covered
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: like you do. No, but they might. I'm telling you
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: it might come to that one day you'll get maybe
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: a chess patch, maybe one on each sleeve and really
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: maybe one on the back.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: That'll be all right, all right, Then they won't. They won't.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Was trying to figure out what's all about this TBT
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: Retirement Center tour was watching the Wichita, Kansas State teams.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: The ballplay was mediocre and the extracurricular handslapping and shoving
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: from extra season grown adults was laughable. Still don't know
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: why so many love this tournament. Guess you have to
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: be a big college basketball fan to get into it.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that is it right there. And you can't go
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: in with expectations that you're gonna see great basketball because
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: it's not great.
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: Basketball, No it's not. But it's seeing players you haven't
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: seen in a while out there playing and that's the
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: fun part. So especially when your team is out there
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: winning and getting to the semifinals, you get a little
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: excited about it. Plus there's nothing really else to talk about.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: So funniest ever Monty Python, Holy Grail overrated. I was
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: not much of a money Python fan.
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, people love it, but I couldn't really get into it.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: I couldn't either. One forty eight handle says squirrel got
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: some broken field skill penalty on the ground, screwed too
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: many men on the field.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: Well done. One person said.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: The Breeders' Cup has a lot of big races, but
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: it doesn't have the biggest race or pageantry. So therefore
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: it can't be bigger than the Derby. Horses only get
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: one shot at being a Derby winner, and the Triple
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: Crown horses can run in the Classic multiple times.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: You're right about that.
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: But again, it's fun to see those horses come back
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: and compete again. It's just race after race after race. Well,
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: I mean, you've got a couple of races. They can't
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: come back the Juvenile. They can't come back and race
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: again and again and again. So like super Corridoro won
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: the Phillies version of the Juvenile last year, she can't
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: go back and win again or compete in that.
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: Look at his text above.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: Oh really, hold on, I'll get to it. Uh, Scoots,
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: obviously there are oh yeah, okay, oh my gosh, Okay,
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: this has.
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: To be read. Scoots.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Obviously there are still going. They are still going strong.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: Referring to Mo Williams. Uh like the Energy Bunny, Mo Williams,
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: MO babies and MO problems. Great text. That is a
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: great text. Thank you there, Jamie. I appreciate that. But uh, anyway,
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: I just I want to make sure I talked about
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: those couple of things before, uh, and before we go today.
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: This is one thing I definitely want to talk about.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Did you see where.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Stanford football players announced yesterday the formation of a chapter
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: of a college football Players Association, which is pushing to
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: eventually unionize college athletes. I saw this story, but I
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: didn't really read into it like I probably should have.
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: So I don't really have a bunch of details. Well,
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I mean, you don't need.
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: A bunch of details. Let's talk about this for a second.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: First of all, don't they realize they're getting pretty much
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: everything they want right now?
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: So what else do they need? Justin that, I have
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: no idea. There you go, Maybe I don't well with baseball.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: Baseball wants the salary cap, right, the players don't. So
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: I was thinking khlbe. I was thinking maybe a salary cap,
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: but that wouldn't behoove the college that hurts exactly.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: They're already getting scholarships, They're already getting all the money
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: they want. And here's the other part that they tend
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: to forget. They're not taxed as if they're employees. Yeah,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: so what I again, I go back to the question,
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: what does unionizing in college athletes gain?
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: There's gotta be something. It's only going to hurt them.
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: It's not like wichital is doing this like it's coming
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: from Stanford. They're pretty smart out there, so there's there's
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: got to be some sort of advantage or benefit that
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: they're being that they think they could get for the players.
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: I have no idea that I truly did not understand this,
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: and it almost makes me think, Okay, Stanford must not
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: be that really good school for smart kids like I
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: thought it was, because this is dumb.
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: I'm not dumb. No, it is dumb. And for them
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: to unionize because you're not getting enough. You're getting everything
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: you want right now and getting away with not being
- 1:31:29Speaker 2: taxed as an employee, I think is the biggest And
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: now you're gonna be taxed, you're gonna be everything's gonna
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: be filtered from there. It's gonna make it worse for
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: college athletes. Now, unions. I'm not saying unions are all bad.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: There is a need for unions in situations. This is
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: not the situation. I just I couldn't believe it, and
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: I was just dumb. I think the best way to
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: described it. I was dumb. Found I really was. It's like,
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: what are you getting? It's not getting it doesn't seem
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: to make a whole lot of sense. It doesn't, so anyway,
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: all right, tomorrow, Uh, we'll be talking about of course,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: I'm sorry to mister Illinois, you're not gonna enjoy because
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: we're going to talk about the familia. I've enjoyed it,
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: so I want to talk about it some more tomorrow.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: And then police are searching for a couple of people
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: that happened last weekend, which I thought was awesome. We
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: didn't have time to talk about it. And we'll talk
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: about some baseball news for UK because I think they
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: got announced a really nice thing over the past few days,
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: so we'll talk about that too.
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: But everybody, have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: on just a.
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: Catty jealousy jealousy.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: Jealousy you had loved to sleep around.
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: If you don't expect too much from me, you might.
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: Not really a town.
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: We slready wants to be with you, and that can't matter.
- 1:33:14Speaker 5: To banle the roping here
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Like
