- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:05Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It looks like first quarter I'm going to be doing commercials.
- 0:14Speaker 3: For burner pills.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yes, so I'm on my way burner pillows precise. You know, Cono,
- 0:22Speaker 2: that is a promo if I've ever heard one burner
- 0:25Speaker 2: pill exactly.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Okay, And now Handle on the news, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Here's Bill Handle, and good morning everybody.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Bill Handle here Monday morning, October twenty seven. As we
- 0:45Speaker 2: start the program on a Monday morning, October twenty seven,
- 0:51Speaker 2: We're off to a start, aren't we. Con O, good morning,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Good morning Bill and Neil Morning Neil, exactly, Okay, Amy
- 1:04Speaker 2: and Will both wearing Dodger garb Warnie, good morning.
- 1:10Speaker 3: So there we go. One and one.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Next game is I'm assuming today.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Five o eight, first pitch back at Doger Stadium.
- 1:22Speaker 3: All right, So well it's obviously not going to be
- 1:25Speaker 3: a sweep.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But has it changed in terms of the Dodgers favor
- 1:32Speaker 2: to win or is it about the same odds.
- 1:35Speaker 4: I think the Dodgers are still favored. But hey, those
- 1:40Speaker 4: those Blue Jays, they got a heck of a heck
- 1:43Speaker 4: of a game. Friday was embarrassing.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, it was particularly a good game if I
- 1:50Speaker 2: were to watch it.
- 1:51Speaker 3: But I'm taking your word for it.
- 1:52Speaker 4: But you didn't. Well, we got beat on Friday, but
- 1:54Speaker 4: then we came back and had a spectacular game on Saturday.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Now I knew that beat and then won.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I got that. Yeah, all right, and good.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Morning, good morning, all right, the whole crew is here.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Fair enough. I asked Ann, when is Pastathon this year?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Do we know? December second? Do I have that right?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yes? I think that's correct.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Okay, So as you know.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Or you may not know, one of the things.
- 2:23Speaker 2: That we do for Pastathon is we auction off events
- 2:29Speaker 2: with the hosts. For example, John traditionally auctions off an
- 2:34Speaker 2: hour of his show that you join him or a
- 2:37Speaker 2: listener who in it's the most joins him for an
- 2:40Speaker 2: hour of the co Belt Show on the air. And
- 2:43Speaker 2: then Gary and Shannon I think they do an Angel
- 2:47Speaker 2: Angels game together with the listener, and Conway does a
- 2:51Speaker 2: hockey game.
- 2:52Speaker 3: What I think it's Dodgers.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Dodgers or Angels whatever, don't know, don't watch either one.
- 2:59Speaker 2: To be honest with you, that's baseball, right, yes, okay,
- 3:03Speaker 2: thank you, all right, thank you very much and Tim.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Is hockey, I believe.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Okay, so pardon kings Kings, Yeah, that's that's hockey, right, Yes,
- 3:18Speaker 2: kings excellent. And I don't think I did anything last year.
- 3:23Speaker 2: But Neil and I are putting together the most spectacular
- 3:29Speaker 2: event that he and I have ever ever done.
- 3:33Speaker 3: It's an extravaganza, sir.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It is an extravaganza, and we're starting it to be
- 3:38Speaker 2: put together. Neil and I have talked about doing a
- 3:43Speaker 2: broadcast at my house, a grill of thon, bringing in
- 3:49Speaker 2: guests and food and chefs to cook for us. And
- 3:53Speaker 2: it's not open to the public.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Read you, guys.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It is strictly for a couple of family members. I
- 4:01Speaker 2: mean very very small. There'll be ten twelve people there.
- 4:03Speaker 2: It's a broadcast of which no one is invited. Well
- 4:08Speaker 2: two people. The high bidder is going to be invited
- 4:14Speaker 2: to join us at my house.
- 4:17Speaker 3: You will be strip search.
- 4:18Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, I'm talking to corporate right
- 4:20Speaker 2: now about cavity searches. You will be strip search upon
- 4:25Speaker 2: entering the house.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Not me, right, well, you'll just well yeah, last year,
- 4:33Speaker 5: I know, because it's so entertaining and so in addition
- 4:37Speaker 5: to joining us for that.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Broadcast and of course eating insane amounts of barbecue and
- 4:42Speaker 2: grilling food. My friend at at Platinum Cookwear, you know,
- 4:49Speaker 2: my buddy, my buddy business partner, Yeah, my business part
- 4:54Speaker 2: we're giving away. Part of it is a seventeen set,
- 4:58Speaker 2: a seventeen piece set of Mestersta cookware worth a couple
- 5:03Speaker 2: of thousand dollars. Also, Zelmans is part of it is
- 5:07Speaker 2: a year's supply of Zelmans.
- 5:10Speaker 3: What oh, we're moving. We're moving.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that's just producer and no holds part.
- 5:17Speaker 6: It's going to be great.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah wow yeah. Yeah. So anyway, and we've just and
- 5:24Speaker 2: we've just started and we have just started adding to
- 5:30Speaker 2: the fray you know what the Apasta and not the
- 5:32Speaker 2: pastathon at the gala with.
- 5:36Speaker 3: For Katarina's Club.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I was there what last week and we gave away
- 5:42Speaker 2: the last moment. They added me at dinner at Amazon
- 5:45Speaker 2: at not Amazon, at the Anaheim White House with me
- 5:50Speaker 2: and lives and the bidding started at one thousand dollars.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I told you, I bid one thousand dollars. I bid
- 5:57Speaker 2: on myself because I was not going to be too
- 5:59Speaker 2: embarre to have no one bid. So I started the
- 6:02Speaker 2: bidding one thousand dollars for me to have lunch with me.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And I told you how much it went for it,
- 6:09Speaker 2: didn't You didn't.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I three or four times? Now, sir?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Uh Yeah, all right, I'm gonna do that again because
- 6:14Speaker 2: I'm so damn proud of it, because it's never happened
- 6:16Speaker 2: to me before.
- 6:18Speaker 3: All right, you can guess that's it.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Fifteen Yeah, all right, Yeah, it's okay, Okay, So it's
- 6:25Speaker 2: never happened. Someone was very very someone was very very drunk,
- 6:28Speaker 2: and they thought it was your name, Neil.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Okay. I think they're excited to go to dinner with Lindsay.
- 6:34Speaker 3: They probably are. That's what's changed. It's true happened before.
- 6:38Speaker 2: That's absolutely true. All right, guys, God, a lot going
- 6:42Speaker 2: on today. President is in Malaysia on his way to
- 6:49Speaker 2: whereas in Japan now, and some interesting things going on
- 6:53Speaker 2: over there as well as interesting things going on here.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I'm also going to talk about the East Wing, and boy,
- 7:01Speaker 2: that's got me. I actually got very very upset when
- 7:05Speaker 2: the East Wing was torn down to the White House truly,
- 7:08Speaker 2: And I'm going to share with you a couple of
- 7:10Speaker 2: myths that I want to explode, implode and some reality
- 7:14Speaker 2: and some emails that I received, and I'll.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Explain to see.
- 7:19Speaker 6: I don't know how it can be shocked regardless, even
- 7:23Speaker 6: if you're excited that there's a you know, you're adding history.
- 7:26Speaker 6: That's what happens, I suppose, but well, it's kind of
- 7:29Speaker 6: shocking when you see it.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Right, And then Mike Johnson of course saying as is
- 7:34Speaker 2: being torn down, Mike Johnson speaker goes, it's going to
- 7:37Speaker 2: be glorious.
- 7:38Speaker 3: It's going to be glorious.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You know, if Donald Trump took a dump on the
- 7:41Speaker 2: White House lawn, he would describe it as glorious.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Oh, the most glorious dump ever.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what Mike Jonathan was le Um, that's true. Yes, yes, okay, guys,
- 7:52Speaker 2: let's do it. It's time for handle on the news,
- 7:54Speaker 2: Amy Neil and me le Sorry, let's make a deal.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Looks like the US.
- 8:00Speaker 2: In China may very well have that care of truce.
- 8:06Speaker 2: It's already being announced by the US that there has
- 8:09Speaker 2: been an agreement on the framework. This is just before
- 8:13Speaker 2: President Jijingping and the President of the United States Donald
- 8:18Speaker 2: Trump meet, and right now the threat of one hundred
- 8:23Speaker 2: percent tariffs on Chinese imports starting the first of November
- 8:28Speaker 2: seems to be off the table, and a final deal
- 8:30Speaker 2: in a tale of kickhawk in the US, so we're
- 8:34Speaker 2: moving forward, and a mercurial view of Donald Trump in
- 8:39Speaker 2: terms of tarots up down, sideways forty five degrees. Will
- 8:43Speaker 2: change it today, tomorrow, this afternoon, it changes again, and
- 8:46Speaker 2: then before we go to bed another change. That's the
- 8:50Speaker 2: volatility is really killing the world market. It's just not
- 8:53Speaker 2: the world markets, so say so much. I mean, the
- 8:56Speaker 2: world markets are doing okay, It's just countries are having
- 9:00Speaker 2: a hard time anticipating what President Trump's going to be
- 9:02Speaker 2: doing or does. And those of us are those of
- 9:06Speaker 2: you who bitch about the volatility. The other side says,
- 9:09Speaker 2: that's what makes Trump so valuable and so effective, is
- 9:14Speaker 2: that volatility.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Amy day twenty seven of the shutdown, half a million
- 9:21Speaker 4: federal workers have now missed a first full paycheck. The
- 9:26Speaker 4: Senate is back on Monday, after last week failing to
- 9:31Speaker 4: get that continuing resolution passed to reopen the government until
- 9:35Speaker 4: November twenty first. The House is still out of session.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Both sides are blaming the other and both say they're winning.
- 9:42Speaker 2: And both are not moving at all, even to the
- 9:47Speaker 2: point where at least the Senate is meeting. Mike Johnson,
- 9:51Speaker 2: who has the power, is not even calling the House
- 9:55Speaker 2: into session, so nothing can be done at all.
- 9:58Speaker 3: There can't even be a vote.
- 10:00Speaker 2: So it's getting worse and the lack of pay is
- 10:06Speaker 2: really hurting. People are starting to feel it big time.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Now.
- 10:13Speaker 6: On that note, it's like a ripple bill, like you
- 10:15Speaker 6: were saying, it kind of emanates from the center and
- 10:18Speaker 6: ripples out. And now we're seeing even more staffing issues,
- 10:22Speaker 6: this time at LAX. As Amy said, you're looking at
- 10:26Speaker 6: what twenty six days now that we've been in this
- 10:29Speaker 6: twenty seven days Federal Aviation Administration is warned of these
- 10:34Speaker 6: disruptions at airports due to staff shortages. And now nearly
- 10:38Speaker 6: four weeks into the federal government shutdown, you've got this
- 10:41Speaker 6: staffing shortage at the door of Los Angeles International Airport, so.
- 10:46Speaker 3: LAX is hit.
- 10:47Speaker 6: Now you have temporary ground stop Sunday morning, lots of
- 10:50Speaker 6: flights here in the West Coast were affected, including flights
- 10:56Speaker 6: for departing for Oakland.
- 10:58Speaker 3: And more and more.
- 11:00Speaker 6: But keep in mind the crazy thing here is your
- 11:05Speaker 6: air traffic controllers are mandated to go to work without pay,
- 11:10Speaker 6: and they cannot even get any retroactive pay until this
- 11:13Speaker 6: is all solved.
- 11:15Speaker 2: You know, I find interesting about this is you would
- 11:18Speaker 2: think that air traffic controller controllers would be at that
- 11:22Speaker 2: level where by law they are paid, come hell or
- 11:24Speaker 2: high water, they are so necessary, they're not as far
- 11:29Speaker 2: as the government is concerned.
- 11:31Speaker 6: No saying how do you not? How do you do
- 11:34Speaker 6: that to them? I don't there be some sort of
- 11:36Speaker 6: adoption program.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Well, apparently the cupboards are almost bare. The US Department
- 11:41Speaker 4: of Agricultures posted a notice on its website saying the
- 11:45Speaker 4: federal food Aid will not go out on November first,
- 11:49Speaker 4: as scheduled. The Trump administration says it's not going to
- 11:53Speaker 4: tap into five billion dollars in emergency funds to keep
- 11:57Speaker 4: benefits through SNAP or these supplemental nutrition assistance program flowing
- 12:02Speaker 4: through November.
- 12:05Speaker 3: That's going to piss off a few people.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I wonder how many people, well I don't know how
- 12:09Speaker 2: many people that were on food stamps are on food
- 12:11Speaker 2: stamps voted for the president.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Oh, I was just going to say, it's about forty
- 12:14Speaker 4: million people who are That's.
- 12:16Speaker 2: A lot of people there.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it really is.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You know, for those people that you know are bitching
- 12:21Speaker 2: and moaning and saying, oh, the inhumanity of it. Hey,
- 12:24Speaker 2: it's just a question of philosophy, that's all there is
- 12:27Speaker 2: to it. There are certain administrations and people that believe
- 12:31Speaker 2: that the primary role of government is the enforcement of
- 12:35Speaker 2: the borders, fair enough security, national security or military, and
- 12:41Speaker 2: the others that say, hey, food stamps, housing help and others.
- 12:48Speaker 3: That's the most important.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And that's where it's boiled down to do both have
- 12:52Speaker 2: a position? Yeah, and they both have a position. It's
- 12:56Speaker 2: not that complicated. So unfortunately, who gets hot in the
- 13:00Speaker 2: middle of all this? Well, as Amy, you said, how
- 13:03Speaker 2: many people forty million people rely on sids dams.
- 13:06Speaker 3: That's a lot of people.
- 13:08Speaker 6: Okay, moving on, all right, the love and that big
- 13:15Speaker 6: Hollywood esque jewel heist. The latest is they continue to
- 13:20Speaker 6: collect humans they think were involved in this. So about
- 13:23Speaker 6: a week after thieves stole millions of dollars worth of
- 13:26Speaker 6: historic jewelry, and if you remember Bell, we had heard
- 13:30Speaker 6: some thoughts, some people saying that they were going to
- 13:33Speaker 6: melt them down, take the jewels out, and kind of
- 13:36Speaker 6: part you know, because who you're going to sell it
- 13:38Speaker 6: to as whole. But so one suspect was preparing to
- 13:43Speaker 6: fly out of the country from Charles de gaul Airport
- 13:47Speaker 6: at the time of their arrests. So there is some
- 13:50Speaker 6: concern that they were trying to they the authorities were
- 13:54Speaker 6: trying to keep it on the DL that they had
- 13:57Speaker 6: captured these suspects, but was leaked and they're kind of
- 14:01Speaker 6: frustrated that it might affect the investigation. But at least
- 14:05Speaker 6: it looks like they got them.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, except we still don't have any information on what
- 14:11Speaker 2: happened to the jewels, and the fear that the gold
- 14:13Speaker 2: has already been melted down and the jewel has been
- 14:16Speaker 2: taken and already cut up, recut and they found them
- 14:20Speaker 2: with DNA evidence.
- 14:22Speaker 3: That was left.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I guess one of the guys masturbated in the way.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Of running out. No do I have that? Why? What
- 14:28Speaker 3: do I have that? Wrong? I think they were in
- 14:30Speaker 3: a hurt No, yes, yes, okay, it's one.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Russia's got more dynamite in the house. Apparently get that reference,
- 14:42Speaker 4: did we anyone?
- 14:44Speaker 3: Russia? No dynamite House?
- 14:46Speaker 4: A new movie on Netflix.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Oh.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Russia has successfully tested a nuclear powered Burev missile, a
- 14:55Speaker 4: nuclear capable weapon. The chief of Russia's armed forces told
- 15:02Speaker 4: Putin that the missile went eighty seven hundred miles. It
- 15:05Speaker 4: was in the air for about fifteen hours on October
- 15:09Speaker 4: twenty first. It says that it can pierce any defense
- 15:13Speaker 4: shield and also can't be taken out by interceptors.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Oh that's lovely.
- 15:19Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, So we have an LAFD leader selected
- 15:26Speaker 6: by Mayor Karen Bass just on Friday. She said, after
- 15:31Speaker 6: this extensive nationwide search that it came back here. I
- 15:36Speaker 6: kind of expected that, and I think a lot of
- 15:37Speaker 6: people did. The Los Angeles Fire Department, this new leader
- 15:41Speaker 6: would be coming from its own ranks. So Deputy Chief
- 15:44Speaker 6: Jamie Moore, thirty year LAFD veteran, was selected by the
- 15:49Speaker 6: city's to be the city's new fire chief.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
- 15:54Speaker 2: If possible, all things being equal, you want to get
- 15:56Speaker 2: someone from the inside because the learning curve, as far
- 16:00Speaker 2: as procedures and tactics, et cetera. You don't have to learn,
- 16:04Speaker 2: or they don't have to learn. It's already there. I
- 16:07Speaker 2: mean bringing in a new police chief. Remember when Chief
- 16:09Speaker 2: Bratton was brought in and his wife was peripherally connected
- 16:16Speaker 2: with kf I, she said, and talked about how difficult
- 16:20Speaker 2: it was for the transition to become the police chief.
- 16:26Speaker 3: I mean there was so many. Lady. Yeah, she hosted
- 16:28Speaker 3: a couple of times.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked her a lot.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Bill.
- 16:33Speaker 4: What are you playing with?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Oh? It was you know, sorry about that.
- 16:38Speaker 2: It's it's a ding dong coin that was handed out
- 16:43Speaker 2: at Tim Conway's he had Tim Conway's birthday. He had
- 16:47Speaker 2: it says ding dong on one side and then you look
- 16:50Speaker 2: at it the other side and uh, there's a face
- 16:52Speaker 2: of Donald Trump and it's pretty interesting. I was playing
- 16:59Speaker 2: it's Tim. It's yeah, it's Tim's picture on it, and
- 17:03Speaker 2: it's a coin. But it is so cheesy light you
- 17:07Speaker 2: can actually bend it with your fingers.
- 17:10Speaker 4: It sounds like a bottle cap.
- 17:12Speaker 2: It's no, not as thick as a bottle cap, doesn't
- 17:14Speaker 2: have the same quality as a bottle cap.
- 17:17Speaker 3: But it's fun. Is it for betting or no?
- 17:19Speaker 2: It's just a coin that he hangs out. It just
- 17:21Speaker 2: says ding dong on one side and he hands it out. Also,
- 17:25Speaker 2: he at his party, which I don't know, a one
- 17:28Speaker 2: hundred people or so. We're invited every year, and this
- 17:31Speaker 2: year I went only because the food was pretty good.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Because and what he does is they actually give out
- 17:38Speaker 2: ding dongs also, which is kind of neat.
- 17:41Speaker 3: That's very clever, isn't it. Oh, we should start doing that.
- 17:44Speaker 6: When you do public appearances, will give out douchebags.
- 17:47Speaker 3: That's very strong, you know what they could do? Wow?
- 17:49Speaker 3: Very strong.
- 17:51Speaker 2: They everybody asked me about handles ice cream spelled the
- 17:54Speaker 2: same way as my name goes? Is that yours? Ago? No,
- 17:57Speaker 2: it's not, has nothing to do with me, but ding dongs?
- 18:01Speaker 2: I like it, So I put that away, all right.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Some horrible news that happened over the weekend. The weekend,
- 18:08Speaker 2: Nick Mangold, forty one years old, a former New York jet,
- 18:12Speaker 2: died of kidney failure. He was looking for a kidney transplant,
- 18:17Speaker 2: even had gone public and asked for it. Neil, of course,
- 18:22Speaker 2: knows this story better than most, having received a kidney transplant,
- 18:26Speaker 2: and Neil, you know what's interesting. You know what I
- 18:30Speaker 2: question is why couldn't Nick Mangold have gone on just
- 18:38Speaker 2: gone on dialysis for years awaiting a kidney transplant, Because
- 18:44Speaker 2: the average kidney transplant patient is three to five years,
- 18:48Speaker 2: and they obviously last that long.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Yeah, it's at least five years, probably five to eight
- 18:53Speaker 6: is more common.
- 18:55Speaker 3: But yeah, it's pretty intense. I don't know. I don't
- 18:59Speaker 3: know his case.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Of course I'm not a doctor, but I would say
- 19:03Speaker 6: that that dialysis is always you know, it's always the interim. Now,
- 19:10Speaker 6: I was only on dialysis for eight ten months, rather,
- 19:14Speaker 6: but my sister was on it for like thirteen years
- 19:18Speaker 6: before she got a kidney, right, And you know, my
- 19:21Speaker 6: younger brother was on it for I don't know, six
- 19:24Speaker 6: seven years before he got his kidney. So, you know,
- 19:27Speaker 6: because it's a genetic disease, half my family, over half
- 19:30Speaker 6: my family has it.
- 19:32Speaker 2: We have pictures of Neil standing on in the street
- 19:35Speaker 2: corner with a placard will work for kidney.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:40Speaker 6: Bill had me eating kidney beans for three years, telling
- 19:44Speaker 6: me that was going to solve it.
- 19:45Speaker 3: But no, just guess.
- 19:47Speaker 2: So anyway, it's a horrific story. Forty one years old,
- 19:50Speaker 2: four kids. Yeah, I don't know, Bill, that's a great question.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Why not just go on dialysis and until you find
- 19:57Speaker 2: a donor? Maybe it was a particular case there was issues, No, no, no, no,
- 20:02Speaker 2: But I just thought i'd mentioned that, all right, continuing
- 20:04Speaker 2: on with more handle on the.
- 20:06Speaker 4: News, how about a ten percent tariff A the US
- 20:12Speaker 4: is planning to impose an additional ten percent tariff on Canada.
- 20:16Speaker 4: That's what President Trump said on Saturday. It's in response
- 20:20Speaker 4: to that ad campaign that Trump said, mister presented comments
- 20:24Speaker 4: made by former President Reagan in an ad where Reagan
- 20:29Speaker 4: talked out against tariffs.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah, instead of just saying it's fake news, this is
- 20:34Speaker 2: on Donald Trump's side. It's fake news. Don't listen to it.
- 20:38Speaker 2: He says, Okay, you want to do an attack an
- 20:40Speaker 2: attack AD, and not even an attack ad against him,
- 20:43Speaker 2: particularly it's Ronald Reagan talking about how tariffs hurt America
- 20:48Speaker 2: during the course of this speech. Back then, okay, you
- 20:52Speaker 2: run an ad against us, we'll knock another ten percent
- 20:55Speaker 2: onto your tariffs. Whoa, I mean you talk on just
- 20:59Speaker 2: a you take it? He takes it personally. Oh, yes,
- 21:02Speaker 2: he does. What happens if someone runs an ad saying
- 21:05Speaker 2: he's not good looking, or he's ugly, or his face's orange,
- 21:12Speaker 2: and he takes offence to that.
- 21:15Speaker 3: You're going to put up the money. I'll come up
- 21:18Speaker 3: with a tagline.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, not only do I lose my job, the
- 21:24Speaker 2: FCC pulls a license from my heart all eight hundred
- 21:26Speaker 2: radio face.
- 21:27Speaker 3: You big baby do it.
- 21:29Speaker 6: It's on principle that the tagline will be orange. You
- 21:32Speaker 6: glad I didn't say.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Banana any all.
- 21:37Speaker 6: Right, Hurricane Melissa is threatening landfall. Hurricane Melissa intensified to
- 21:42Speaker 6: a Category five just early this morning as it's nearing Jamaica.
- 21:48Speaker 6: So it's looking to dump like thirty inches of freaking
- 21:51Speaker 6: rain on Jamaica. That will put out a lot of
- 21:55Speaker 6: smoking man, and they're bringing this life threatening storm surge
- 22:00Speaker 6: in there. Yeah, probably tonight is when it's going to
- 22:05Speaker 6: hit Tuesday across a southeastern Cuba, the Bahamas through Wednesday.
- 22:11Speaker 6: But pretty crazy and we'll probably bring some, sadly, in
- 22:17Speaker 6: all seriousness, some devastation.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Yeah, to add injury to injury. This thing is crawling
- 22:24Speaker 2: at three miles per hour, which means the amount of
- 22:27Speaker 2: moisture that's coming down just keeps on going and going
- 22:31Speaker 2: and going. Not only is it the wind and the
- 22:35Speaker 2: level of the hurricane, but also how quickly it is there.
- 22:39Speaker 2: If they zip along at thirteen fourteen miles an hour
- 22:42Speaker 2: a fast moving hurricane, you know obviously, well it does
- 22:47Speaker 2: it lowers the amount of devastation. Not this time around.
- 22:51Speaker 2: It's gonna be the worst hurricane to ever hit Jamaica.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Category five sustain wins, as you said, of one hundred
- 22:58Speaker 2: and sixty miles an hour. I mean, it's a tough one, catastrophic,
- 23:00Speaker 2: life threatening. You put it all together, Guess.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Who wants to live at the White House? And he guesses,
- 23:07Speaker 4: and he guesses, Oh, Governor Newsom what He's finally admitted
- 23:13Speaker 4: that he might be thinking about it. He was asked
- 23:15Speaker 4: about it on CBS News Sunday morning and they asked
- 23:20Speaker 4: him whether he might be eyeing the White House and
- 23:22Speaker 4: he said, yeah, I'd be lying. Otherwise I'd just be
- 23:25Speaker 4: lying and I'm not. I just can't do that.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Sure, he can only to his wife.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Now, Kabla Harris asked the same thing, and she's contemplating
- 23:37Speaker 2: a move, and it's easier for her to say that
- 23:39Speaker 2: because she's not in office. The argument is that Newsom
- 23:43Speaker 2: maybe is a carpetbagger because he's using California simply as
- 23:47Speaker 2: a stepping stone to run for office. However, he's being
- 23:50Speaker 2: termed out and so it's half legitimate for him to
- 23:56Speaker 2: run for president.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Of course he's going to run for president.
- 24:00Speaker 6: Harris, didn't she get some of the biggest numbers ever
- 24:05Speaker 6: when it came to votes. I mean, you're looking at
- 24:09Speaker 6: what what Donald Trump have like seventy seven million, and
- 24:12Speaker 6: she had like seventy four million or something like that.
- 24:15Speaker 6: I mean it's pretty close race, don't they. Don't you
- 24:17Speaker 6: think the Democrats would pick her over Newsom to run again?
- 24:22Speaker 2: No, No, I don't think so. I think Newsom is
- 24:27Speaker 2: a smarter He certainly has better hair than I don't
- 24:32Speaker 2: know about that.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Kamlo has got some good hair, you know.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Well, maybe because I pay attention to Newsom because he's
- 24:38Speaker 2: a guy, and I'm very, very distressed about that. The
- 24:41Speaker 2: only person I really like hair wise on our show
- 24:44Speaker 2: is Neil Oh.
- 24:46Speaker 6: No, will too, Will too. We do what we can. Yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 6: we're to keep it high and tight as they say.
- 24:51Speaker 6: Yes you do, Yes, you do. I'm letting before we
- 24:57Speaker 6: take a break. Okay, there you are.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Here's a great, great story.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Don't take COVID and the mRNA vaccines because they'll kill you,
- 25:08Speaker 6: or maybe they'll fight cancer. So a new study says
- 25:12Speaker 6: that the COVID nineteen vaccine, which has been credited with
- 25:16Speaker 6: saving millions of lives during the pandemic, might offer this
- 25:23Speaker 6: ability to help the human immune system against cancer, nearly
- 25:28Speaker 6: doubling the median survival length of patients. And this is
- 25:32Speaker 6: a new retrospective study researches the University of Texas MD
- 25:38Speaker 6: Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Florida. So it's
- 25:42Speaker 6: coming out of two red states. Ladies and gentlemen. I
- 25:47Speaker 6: don't know, but that's pretty that's pretty fantastic. Could you
- 25:49Speaker 6: imagine if this ends up being true?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Yeah, except that the government spending on research and development
- 25:57Speaker 2: of the RMNA vaccine has been cut. What's it. Kennedy
- 26:04Speaker 2: has just said, we're done. We're not funding at nice things. Yeah,
- 26:08Speaker 2: we're not funding it at all. The scientists, incidentally, overwhelming
- 26:12Speaker 2: scientists have said Kennedy is nuts. He's out of his mind.
- 26:16Speaker 2: This really is. This is real stuff in terms of
- 26:21Speaker 2: the advances of medicine. And you know what the conspiracy
- 26:24Speaker 2: theories Kennedy is a conspiracy theorist. Thailand all kills you,
- 26:28Speaker 2: you know, during pregnancy, it causes autism.
- 26:31Speaker 3: But saturated fats are good for you for you.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just it's insane as what's going on. I mean,
- 26:39Speaker 2: it's just it's crazy. Who would have thunk.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Uh. I'm just sick about this. Four gray wolves have
- 26:48Speaker 4: been killed by the state. Okay, they've been euthanized. Conservationists,
- 26:52Speaker 4: of course, we're thrilled when the gray wolf returned to California.
- 26:56Speaker 4: The pex predators were hunted to near extinction about one
- 27:00Speaker 4: hundred years ago. Well now they're back. There are several packs,
- 27:04Speaker 4: but in response to an unprecedented surge in cattle kills
- 27:08Speaker 4: across the Sierra Valley, officials with the California Department of
- 27:12Speaker 4: Fish and Wildlife recently euthanized four gray wolves from the
- 27:17Speaker 4: baym Sao pack because they were going after the cattle.
- 27:21Speaker 3: But it's weird.
- 27:22Speaker 6: They're not going after their natural prey like deer and
- 27:25Speaker 6: the like.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Well apparently they are, but this particular pack, between March
- 27:30Speaker 4: twenty eighth and September tenth, it's four wolves were responsible
- 27:34Speaker 4: for seventy total livestock losses. They probably are going for
- 27:39Speaker 4: the easy kill. I mean, cattle are in confined spaces, right,
- 27:44Speaker 4: or maybe they are free.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but they don't really run much.
- 27:49Speaker 2: No, there there is a catch sorry about and it's
- 27:53Speaker 2: all made out of you know, steak.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah, some good.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Stuff and it's made out of steak.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I was, yeah, it was a little bit late, how
- 28:01Speaker 2: unusual it was, But I was just talking to Lindsay
- 28:04Speaker 2: were do you remember the photographer at the Gatsbey party
- 28:09Speaker 2: that I had a dawn and he also was a
- 28:12Speaker 2: photographer for Barbara's wedding. Twenty seven years old and last
- 28:18Speaker 2: week I told you he was picked up by a
- 28:22Speaker 2: on a raid immigration raid. Last night he was deported
- 28:27Speaker 2: and his family has no idea where he is.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Twenty seven years ago, old camera man.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Yeah, twenty seven years old.
- 28:34Speaker 3: We didn't know.
- 28:35Speaker 2: He came to the United States when he was thirteen,
- 28:37Speaker 2: and he had his photography business, married a year and
- 28:41Speaker 2: a half ago, and he was just picked up and deported.
- 28:45Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I don't know any of the other facts other than
- 28:48Speaker 2: can you imagine what his family is going through now
- 28:50Speaker 2: they're trying to figure out what country he was deported to.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's just a good kid too, a lot
- 28:58Speaker 2: of faith, a Christian who is you know, he was
- 29:04Speaker 2: part of a church and very You know what kills
- 29:06Speaker 2: me is there's here's a philosophy only the worst of
- 29:11Speaker 2: the worst are being picked up and this this is
- 29:15Speaker 2: really heartbreaking.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Twenty seven year old kid. I said this before.
- 29:19Speaker 6: If if there's bad that we want out, there's good
- 29:23Speaker 6: that we want in and the fact that they aren't
- 29:26Speaker 6: separating or they aren't doing some due diligence is it
- 29:30Speaker 6: seems Unamerican in so many ways, you know, and classless.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Can you imagine what the family family's going through. You know,
- 29:37Speaker 2: he gets picked up and next thing, you know, a
- 29:39Speaker 2: week later, he's out of the country and they're just
- 29:42Speaker 2: trying to figure out where he is. And he'll never
- 29:43Speaker 2: be able to come back to the United States again
- 29:45Speaker 2: because he's been deported. The whole family is blown up.
- 29:48Speaker 2: You know, it's it's heartbreaking, especially when you know somebody
- 29:51Speaker 2: you know. It's anyway, okay, moving on. Oh, here's some
- 29:56Speaker 2: good news. IMPOC the impocs. Everybody's dying now. Yeah, listen impos,
- 30:01Speaker 2: listen up.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Cono.
- 30:03Speaker 6: More than two years after this impox outbreak in the
- 30:06Speaker 6: US was declared over, now you have a new crop
- 30:10Speaker 6: of cases in California. It's this infectious disease continues to
- 30:16Speaker 6: rage on. There's an outbreak spread through men who have
- 30:19Speaker 6: sex with other men. Apparently was declared over at the
- 30:23Speaker 6: start of twenty twenty three. You know, low level transmission
- 30:27Speaker 6: has persisted since then. But now they have this collection
- 30:30Speaker 6: of three unrelated EMPOC case cases recently detected here in
- 30:35Speaker 6: California and concerns are raised again as this seems to
- 30:40Speaker 6: be more infectious, more dangerous, and this strain of the
- 30:44Speaker 6: virus is called clad one empox CLA d one IMPOCX.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we're expecting a press release from on a department
- 30:58Speaker 2: from the FDA or Health Human Services. This is fake news.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Impox doesn't exist. Uh, can't wait for that. Okay, a
- 31:07Speaker 2: political jibe, all right, granted?
- 31:10Speaker 3: Accuse me?
- 31:14Speaker 4: Uh? Okay, So there was a dog sitter. Why Anne,
- 31:19Speaker 4: you gave me all the really crappy stories today.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Help the animal ones.
- 31:23Speaker 4: The stars of HGTVS Divided by Designs say their dog
- 31:27Speaker 4: died and was cremated without their consent by a dog sitter.
- 31:31Speaker 4: So right, Okay. So they had left their dog with
- 31:35Speaker 4: a dog sitter, twelve year old Hitsu who died while
- 31:38Speaker 4: under the care of this pet sitter on August twenty ninth,
- 31:41Speaker 4: and Ray and Ilan or Eileen, Him and Az say
- 31:45Speaker 4: they came back home, the dog sitter comes out crying,
- 31:49Speaker 4: says that their dog Aria passed away peacefully in her sleep,
- 31:52Speaker 4: and then said that they were cremated. But then when
- 31:54Speaker 4: they went and talked to the people who cremated her.
- 31:56Speaker 4: They said, oh no, she was like, uh, attacked and
- 32:01Speaker 4: had been killed by a larger dog and then they
- 32:03Speaker 4: cremated her. But so the couple is super mad that
- 32:09Speaker 4: they relied to about their their little dog.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Holy smoke.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Wow, Now we could have talked about we could have
- 32:17Speaker 6: boxed her having a party in the house.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we could have. We could have talked about World
- 32:20Speaker 2: War three exploding just a few minutes ago.
- 32:22Speaker 3: But no. One last story, all right.
- 32:25Speaker 6: This is that that strange one bill about the Melody Buzzard,
- 32:30Speaker 6: the nine girl that kind of went missing. Well they
- 32:32Speaker 6: didn't kind as she went missing, and our mom's not
- 32:35Speaker 6: helping the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's office find her. Well, uh,
- 32:40Speaker 6: and it's been like a year or two years that
- 32:43Speaker 6: we've even seen a picture. But a security camera camera,
- 32:47Speaker 6: I guess, has the first new pictures of Melody seen
- 32:50Speaker 6: in more than two years. And it looks like she's
- 32:53Speaker 6: wearing a wig. She normally has this brown, curly hair,
- 32:57Speaker 6: and this was kind of straight, dark black, kind of
- 33:01Speaker 6: colored hair, and yeah, this is a hard.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Old Her mother's all over this and refuses to cooperate
- 33:09Speaker 2: with the police. What does that tell you instantly, this
- 33:13Speaker 2: is so hinky. What parent would not cooperate with the
- 33:16Speaker 2: police when a child is missing and her under mom's circumstances.
- 33:21Speaker 6: Her mom, Ashley Buzzard, apparently, is known for regularly wearing wigs.
- 33:25Speaker 6: This was at a rental office for a vehicle and
- 33:29Speaker 6: it was a white Chevrolet Malibu license plate.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Number nine M and G one oh one.
- 33:35Speaker 2: All right, we're done, KF I am sixty. You've been
- 33:40Speaker 2: listening to the Bill Handle Show. Catch My Show Monday
