
New Zealand confirms 1st case of highly infectious bird flu in seabird
New Zealand has confirmed its first detection of the highly pathogenic H5 bird flu strain, after a migratory seabird was found on a beach in Wellington. Biosecurity Minister Andrew Hoggard said there is no evidence of transmission between wild birds, or mass mortality in wildlife.
