- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. So everybody and their mother has an opinion
- 0:08Speaker 1: on Jeffrey Epstein, including Elon Musk. However, Elon Musk has
- 0:14Speaker 1: his own questions he needs to answer. Starting with why
- 0:17Speaker 1: he was at a dinner in 2011 with Jeffrey Epstein
- 0:21Speaker 1: after he was already a known sexual offender. Because I
- 0:24Speaker 1: would think that for all the tough talk that Elon
- 0:27Speaker 1: Musk is doing lately... that if he was sitting down
- 0:29Speaker 1: at a dinner for Jeffrey Epstein, Epstein wouldn't be getting
- 0:33Speaker 1: served food, instead he'd be getting served a knuckle sandwich.
- 0:36Speaker 1: But I guess not. I guess Elon, like the rest
- 0:39Speaker 1: of these dudes, is nothing more than talk. So let's
- 0:42Speaker 1: hop into our time machine, and let's go back to 2019.
- 0:47Speaker 1: This article was published by BuzzFeed. Headline, In 2011, Jeffrey
- 0:53Speaker 1: Epstein was a known sex offender. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and Sergey Brin Dine with them anyway. This article was
- 1:01Speaker 1: authored by Peter Aldhaus and Ryan Mack. In March 2011,
- 1:07Speaker 1: a group of technology executives gathered in a private dining
- 1:11Speaker 1: room at an upscale Italian restaurant in downtown Long Beach,
- 1:14Speaker 1: California for a meal and some conversation. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos,
- 1:20Speaker 1: Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and others
- 1:25Speaker 1: were all in town for TED. the annual conference with
- 1:28Speaker 1: the slogan, Ideas Worth Spreading. They were among friends at
- 1:33Speaker 1: an annual event called the Billionaire's Dinner without a retinue
- 1:37Speaker 1: of handlers and hangers-on. So, invite only. You know when
- 1:41Speaker 1: they say you're not invited to the club? This is
- 1:44Speaker 1: the club they're talking about. But the truth is, everybody
- 1:47Speaker 1: knew what Jeffrey Epstein was at this point. They didn't care.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Now they'll make pretend they do. We see it all
- 1:54Speaker 1: the time. And we certainly see it with Elon Musk.
- 1:58Speaker 1: out here talking all this nonsense, acting like he cares
- 2:00Speaker 1: about Epstein survivors, acting like he cares about what happened,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but does he really? Does he really want us to
- 2:07Speaker 1: pull this band-aid off and ask these questions? Because now
- 2:10Speaker 1: that he opened the door, well, here we are. And
- 2:13Speaker 1: the question is, why were you breaking bread with Jeffrey Epstein?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yet when the event was later immortalized online, at least
- 2:21Speaker 1: one infamous individual was missing from the names of the
- 2:24Speaker 1: masters of the universe who had gathered for the evening.
- 2:28Speaker 1: the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Oh, I'm sure that
- 2:32Speaker 1: was an accident, right? I'm sure that wasn't by design.
- 2:35Speaker 1: God forbid they let anybody know that they're palling around
- 2:39Speaker 1: with Mr. Diddler himself. And really, for me, it's the hypocrisy.
- 2:43Speaker 1: You have somebody like Elon Musk talking all this nonsense,
- 2:47Speaker 1: yet he's never answered for his own ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
- 2:51Speaker 1: It's always been some kind of BS, you know, shrug
- 2:53Speaker 1: it off. Oh, I didn't really know him. The whole thing.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But we know that's not true. Just like when he
- 2:59Speaker 1: said that Ghislaine Maxwell photobombed him in that picture with
- 3:03Speaker 1: him and Ghislaine Maxwell at Jeff Bezos' getaway. I guess
- 3:06Speaker 1: this is all just a coincidence, huh? The fact that
- 3:09Speaker 1: you're palling around with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell after
- 3:13Speaker 1: Epstein's already been convicted. I guess that's just a mistaken judgment, right?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Or maybe you just didn't care because you never thought
- 3:20Speaker 1: that this was going to get the doors blown off
- 3:22Speaker 1: of it because you knew better. And maybe I'm just cynical,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but I think that's way more likely. than trying to
- 3:28Speaker 1: bullshit me and say that one of the richest, most
- 3:30Speaker 1: powerful men in the world had no idea who Jeffrey
- 3:33Speaker 1: Epstein was or what he was convicted of. I just
- 3:37Speaker 1: don't buy that. This elite dinner and another similarly select
- 3:42Speaker 1: gathering that Epstein attended later that year were both organized
- 3:45Speaker 1: by the New York literary agent John Brockman, whose exclusive
- 3:49Speaker 1: intellectual club called Edge seems to have played a role
- 3:52Speaker 1: in Epstein's effort to regain credibility and influence in circles
- 3:56Speaker 1: of the rich and powerful. At the time, he was
- 3:59Speaker 1: less than two years removed from finishing a 13-month prison
- 4:02Speaker 1: term in a Florida state jail for soliciting prostitution from
- 4:06Speaker 1: an underage girl. Is that the kind of guy you're
- 4:09Speaker 1: going to sit down and break bread with or what?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I know I'm not. In fact, if you try and
- 4:13Speaker 1: put that dude anywhere near me, chances are I'm going
- 4:16Speaker 1: to slap the dog shit out of him. Bro's going
- 4:19Speaker 1: to be in for a very, very long night. He
- 4:23Speaker 1: thought he was getting filet mignon. Instead, he's eating his
- 4:25Speaker 1: own teeth. Sounds like a fantastic evening to me. A
- 4:30Speaker 1: leaked email obtained by BuzzFeed News also suggests that Epstein
- 4:34Speaker 1: separately pursued ties with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. And remember,
- 4:39Speaker 1: this is an article from 2019. So yeah, the Bill
- 4:44Speaker 1: Gates talk, that's been going on for a very long
- 4:46Speaker 1: time when it comes to Epstein. The months following Epstein's
- 4:50Speaker 1: release from prison would be crucial for the disgraced financier,
- 4:54Speaker 1: You mean pedophile. As he began his re-acclimation to the
- 4:58Speaker 1: upper crust social circles he had occupied before his arrest.
- 5:02Speaker 1: In late 2010, Epstein reportedly hosted a dinner for celebrities
- 5:06Speaker 1: and Prince Andrew at his Upper East Side mansion. And
- 5:10Speaker 1: by the next year, he was once again mingling with Brockman,
- 5:14Speaker 1: an Uber networker among the elite of tech, science, and
- 5:17Speaker 1: Wall Street. With a goal to seek out the most
- 5:19Speaker 1: complex and sophisticated minds, put them in a room together,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and have them ask each other questions they're asking themselves.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Brockman's Edge Foundation had previously welcomed Epstein as a patron
- 5:32Speaker 1: to the sciences. In other words, a pay pig. Nobody
- 5:36Speaker 1: respected Jeffrey Epstein's opinion when it comes to science. Bro
- 5:40Speaker 1: wasn't out here as some kind of genius. Just a
- 5:43Speaker 1: guy with some money, and a guy that knew how
- 5:45Speaker 1: to make levers move. That's it. That's all. Before his
- 5:49Speaker 1: 2006 arrest, Epstein attended... at least three Edge billionaire dinners,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and was mentioned in a write-up on the Edge website
- 5:57Speaker 1: of the 2004 event. Yeah, because they all love this dude.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Until it wasn't convenient anymore. And then they all had amnesia.
- 6:05Speaker 1: We never saw anything. We didn't know anything. We have
- 6:08Speaker 1: no idea what happened. What are you even talking about
- 6:10Speaker 1: right now? Jeffrey Epstein existed? That's where the conversation's headed.
- 6:17Speaker 1: In the early 2000s, the Edge Dinners were a place
- 6:20Speaker 1: to be seen by members of the Digerati and attended
- 6:23Speaker 1: by reporters from several media outlets. In 2011, after Epstein
- 6:28Speaker 1: had been released from a Florida jail, it was an
- 6:31Speaker 1: exclusive gathering, dominated by tech industry leadership, a gallery of
- 6:36Speaker 1: the photos taken, At the event by Nathan Myhrvold, formerly
- 6:40Speaker 1: Microsoft's chief technology officer, named 20 guests, including just one
- 6:45Speaker 1: media representative, New York Times columnist David Brooks. Epstein wasn't
- 6:51Speaker 1: named in the photos posted on the Edge website, but
- 6:54Speaker 1: he appears in the background of a snap of Zach Bogue,
- 6:57Speaker 1: a venture capitalist and husband of Marissa Mayer, then a
- 7:01Speaker 1: vice president at Google. The New York Times mentioned this
- 7:04Speaker 1: photo in passing in its July story, about Epstein's re-entry
- 7:08Speaker 1: into powerful society circles after his release from jail. So
- 7:12Speaker 1: all these enablers that helped him out, and that includes you,
- 7:16Speaker 1: Elon Musk, they should all have to answer for that.
- 7:20Speaker 1: They're the reason that Epstein was able to re-insert himself
- 7:23Speaker 1: into society and why he was able to continue doing
- 7:25Speaker 1: what he was doing. Because we all know that he
- 7:28Speaker 1: was molesting people and abusing people all the way up
- 7:31Speaker 1: to his second arrest. So all the people that were
- 7:35Speaker 1: out here helping him out pushing him forward, rebuilding his image.
- 7:39Speaker 1: We see you. We know who you are. And we
- 7:42Speaker 1: have questions. This was the first time that some of
- 7:46Speaker 1: these tech titans had rubbed shoulders with Epstein at Brockman's
- 7:50Speaker 1: billionaire dinner. Bezos and Brin, along with fellow Google co-founder
- 7:54Speaker 1: Larry Page, are listed on the Edge website as attending
- 7:58Speaker 1: in 2004, and the Amazon CEO was at the 1999 event,
- 8:03Speaker 1: both of which Epstein also attended. Look, we know that
- 8:06Speaker 1: he had ties to Bezos. We know that he had
- 8:08Speaker 1: ties to Larry Page. And we certainly know that he
- 8:11Speaker 1: had ties to Sergey Brin. He tried to make Sergey
- 8:14Speaker 1: Brin the third executor of his estate. But of course,
- 8:18Speaker 1: nobody dug deeper. Sergey Brin couldn't be involved here. Let's
- 8:22Speaker 1: just keep it moving. It's all just a big conspiracy theory, right?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Despite Epstein's notoriety following the conviction... Multiple attendees present at
- 8:32Speaker 1: the small gathering in 2011 stated they did not know
- 8:35Speaker 1: him then or do not remember his presence now. Of
- 8:39Speaker 1: course not. I like to call that the Epstein amnesia
- 8:42Speaker 1: and there's a lot of people that are afflicted with it.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I didn't know Jeffrey Epstein was there, said Bogue, who
- 8:49Speaker 1: was photographed sitting three places away from the ex-convict financier
- 8:53Speaker 1: pedophile at the 2011 event. I don't think I spoke
- 8:57Speaker 1: to him at the dinner. I don't believe I have
- 8:59Speaker 1: ever met him. either at the dinner or any time else. No,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm sure. I'm sure you guys never broke bread. You're
- 9:05Speaker 1: sitting three spots away from him. Never had a conversation, huh? Okay,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I guess. Through a spokesperson, Bogue's spouse, Mayer, said she
- 9:13Speaker 1: did not recall seeing Epstein at the dinner. That sentiment
- 9:16Speaker 1: was echoed by Craig Mundy, another dinner attendee who served
- 9:20Speaker 1: as Microsoft's chief strategy and research officer until 2014. Mundy
- 9:26Speaker 1: said in an email that he had been invited by
- 9:29Speaker 1: Brockman and had no recollection of meeting Epstein at the event. Again,
- 9:33Speaker 1: stop it. You met him. What, this guy was sitting
- 9:36Speaker 1: by himself? Nobody introduced him to you? Nobody introduced him
- 9:39Speaker 1: to anybody? He just sat there like a dork? I
- 9:42Speaker 1: highly doubt it. You all wanted his money. Who you kidding? Myhrvold,
- 9:47Speaker 1: another former Microsoft executive, sent a statement to BuzzFeed News
- 9:51Speaker 1: denying knowledge or any involvement in the various crimes that Mr.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Epstein is accused of committing or financial connections to his
- 9:58Speaker 1: money management business. Back in the day, Epstein was a
- 10:02Speaker 1: regular at TED conferences. He was a large donor to
- 10:05Speaker 1: basic scientific research. So while Nathan knew him and has
- 10:09Speaker 1: socialized with him, that's exactly where their association ends, his
- 10:12Speaker 1: spokesperson said. Oh yeah, so you didn't see anything weird
- 10:16Speaker 1: with Epstein, huh? The guy that was always with young girls?
- 10:19Speaker 1: a guy that talked crude and disgusting to everybody he
- 10:21Speaker 1: ran into contact with? Sure, you saw nothing. Got it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Another one who saw nothing, knows nothing, and heard nothing.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Brooke Hammerling, a communications and public relations specialist who deals
- 10:34Speaker 1: with high-profile tech executives, did not attend the dinner, but
- 10:38Speaker 1: said she had been long aware of Brockman's events around Ted.
- 10:42Speaker 1: She said it was hard to believe that executives of
- 10:44Speaker 1: high-profile companies would go in blind to an intimate dinner,
- 10:48Speaker 1: particularly When many have staff who prepare them ahead of
- 10:51Speaker 1: time with briefing books on who will be attending events. Bingo.
- 10:56Speaker 1: This isn't a dinner like me and you go to.
- 10:58Speaker 1: The homie Joe invites you to Carrabba's. Everybody knows everybody.
- 11:04Speaker 1: This social circle is not that big. And when you
- 11:07Speaker 1: have this kind of dough, everybody knows you. So anybody
- 11:10Speaker 1: who says they had no idea what Epstein was or
- 11:12Speaker 1: who he was, they're lying. And I'm pretty confident when
- 11:16Speaker 1: I say that. If you're the CEO of a publicly
- 11:18Speaker 1: traded company, your responsibility is to be prepared and not
- 11:22Speaker 1: to have any surprises, she said. Brooks, the New York
- 11:25Speaker 1: Times columnist, is the only journalist photographed at the event,
- 11:29Speaker 1: said he had not heard of Epstein in 2011 and
- 11:32Speaker 1: had only learned of the financier and past following the
- 11:36Speaker 1: Miami Herald's investigation last year. How's that even possible? I
- 11:40Speaker 1: didn't even follow the news back then and I had
- 11:42Speaker 1: heard of Epstein and what he was up to. But
- 11:44Speaker 1: the richest people in the world had no idea, huh?
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm not buying it. I'm sorry. I'm just not buying it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: A Tesla spokesperson declined to answer queries about the event
- 11:54Speaker 1: and instead questioned BuzzFeed News' journalistic integrity. Of course they did.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Elon Musk is a punk bitch. I'll be the first
- 12:01Speaker 1: to say it. All these people out here that cheer
- 12:03Speaker 1: him on. Dude's been a lame from the very start.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And he's showing his true colors now. bitching and moaning, crying,
- 12:11Speaker 1: acting the fool, when he has his own questions to
- 12:13Speaker 1: answer about Epstein. But yet he won't even do it.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yet he demands everybody else answer questions and be on
- 12:19Speaker 1: the up and up. Why don't you lead the way, Mr. Musk?
- 12:23Speaker 1: Why don't you show everybody else how to do it?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Brendan Bezos did not respond to BuzzFeed News inquiries. Cabangar
- 12:30Speaker 1: also did not reply to emails requesting comment. All right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up episode one right here. And
- 12:36Speaker 1: in the next episode, we're going to pick up where
- 12:37Speaker 1: we left off. All of the information that goes with
- 12:40Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box. What's
- 12:44Speaker 1: up everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles.
- 12:49Speaker 1: In this episode we're going to pick up right where
- 12:51Speaker 1: we left off with a BuzzFeed article that was authored
- 12:55Speaker 1: by Peter Aldhouse and Ryan Mack. Brennan Bezos did not
- 13:00Speaker 1: respond to BuzzFeed News inquiries. Caminger also did not reply
- 13:04Speaker 1: to emails requesting comment. Epstein attended a second exclusive Edge
- 13:10Speaker 1: event in July of 2011, held over a weekend at
- 13:13Speaker 1: a winery in St. Helena, California. There he mingled with
- 13:17Speaker 1: a handful of leading scientists and several science journalists, plus
- 13:20Speaker 1: wealthy power brokers, including Sean Parker, former president of Facebook,
- 13:25Speaker 1: and Nicholas Pritzker, a venture capitalist and former CEO of
- 13:29Speaker 1: the Hyatt Development Corporation. And let's not forget... that one
- 13:34Speaker 1: of the Pritzkers was credibly accused by Virginia Roberts of
- 13:37Speaker 1: abusing her. So keep that in mind. And that also
- 13:41Speaker 1: plays directly into the people that continue to call for
- 13:43Speaker 1: the list, but had nothing to say when people were
- 13:47Speaker 1: already outed. I would think that before anyone's worried about
- 13:50Speaker 1: some so-called list, they'd be worried about the people who
- 13:53Speaker 1: have already been credibly accused. But nothing came of it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Unless you mean the tough talk that we heard from
- 13:59Speaker 1: the DOJ. But as far as action, they couldn't be
- 14:02Speaker 1: bothered to deal with this. What do you think, they
- 14:05Speaker 1: care about human trafficking operations? They care about people like Epstein?
- 14:09Speaker 1: Obviously not. There he mingled with a handful of leading
- 14:13Speaker 1: scientists and several science journalists, plus wealthy power brokers, including
- 14:17Speaker 1: Sean Parker, former president of Facebook, and Nicholas Pritzker, a
- 14:21Speaker 1: venture capitalist and former CEO of the Hyatt Development Corporation.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Pritzker's venture firm was invested in Uber, Tesla, and SpaceX
- 14:31Speaker 1: and is now on the board of vaping startup Juul Labs.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Isn't Juul defunct now? Or didn't they get sued into
- 14:38Speaker 1: oblivion for their vapes? I think they did. The meeting
- 14:43Speaker 1: was billed as a master class on the science of
- 14:45Speaker 1: human nature. Participants got a preview of Harvard psychologist Steven
- 14:50Speaker 1: Pinker's book The Better Angels of Our Nature on the
- 14:54Speaker 1: decline of violence in human societies released a few months later.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And you know what's funny about Mr. Pinker? He blocked
- 15:01Speaker 1: me on Twitter. I've never even said a word to
- 15:04Speaker 1: this dude and he has me blocked on Twitter. What
- 15:07Speaker 1: does that tell you about him and the charming ass
- 15:10Speaker 1: heart that he has? You coward ass chump. Just another
- 15:14Speaker 1: one of these pea-brained academics who never got picked to
- 15:18Speaker 1: play any kind of sport when they were younger. Probably
- 15:21Speaker 1: got swirlies and stuffed into lockers and the rest of it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Certainly never got any women. And that's why dorky ass
- 15:28Speaker 1: academics like Steven Pinker Were the perfect target for a
- 15:31Speaker 1: dude like Jeffrey Epstein. And if you think Epstein wasn't
- 15:35Speaker 1: targeting scientists. You have not been paying attention. That was
- 15:39Speaker 1: one of his favorite targets. And in fact I'm convinced.
- 15:42Speaker 1: That's why he built Zorro Ranch. He wanted to be
- 15:46Speaker 1: close to the Santa Fe Institute. You know the transhumanism
- 15:49Speaker 1: bullshit he was into. Well. That was the home of it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Epstein was captured on video sitting next to Pritzker. And
- 15:59Speaker 1: laughing as Martin Nowak. who received $ 6. 5 million from Epstein
- 16:03Speaker 1: in 2003 to launch his program for evolutionary dynamics at Harvard,
- 16:08Speaker 1: explained how sexual reproduction generates noise in models of the
- 16:12Speaker 1: evolution of cooperative behavior. And according to just about everybody
- 16:17Speaker 1: who would speak about Epstein, everybody says the same thing.
- 16:21Speaker 1: He was infantile, he was nowhere near as smart as
- 16:23Speaker 1: he thought he was, and he certainly wasn't some kind
- 16:25Speaker 1: of scientist. The whole reason that he was paying these
- 16:28Speaker 1: scientists and giving them grants... and giving them access to
- 16:31Speaker 1: these funds, is so that Epstein would have access to
- 16:34Speaker 1: their work. If you're running a compromise operation, don't you
- 16:38Speaker 1: think having some information on scientists who are working on
- 16:41Speaker 1: crazy-ass projects is a good idea? And what better way
- 16:45Speaker 1: to get close to them than to gain their trust
- 16:47Speaker 1: by giving them these big grants? Seems like a pretty
- 16:51Speaker 1: good plot to me, and it obviously worked, because Epstein
- 16:54Speaker 1: had all these people under his thumb by the end
- 16:56Speaker 1: of this. Bro had his own office at Harvard. I
- 16:59Speaker 1: know it sounds unbelievable, but it's true. Imagine giving a
- 17:03Speaker 1: guy like Jeffrey Epstein an office at Harvard. And then
- 17:07Speaker 1: imagine if you're a parent who's paying for their child
- 17:10Speaker 1: to go to Harvard. Oh yeah, Mr. Jeffrey Epstein's just
- 17:14Speaker 1: hanging around campus. Makes me feel great as a dad.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Sean does not have a specific recollection of the event.
- 17:20Speaker 1: A spokesperson for Parker told BuzzFeed News he did not
- 17:24Speaker 1: meet Jeffrey Epstein at that time. but he also would
- 17:27Speaker 1: not have been aware of who he was in 2011. Oh,
- 17:31Speaker 1: nobody had any idea. This is what I mean. All
- 17:34Speaker 1: the smartest people in the room had no idea what
- 17:36Speaker 1: Epstein was, what he was up to, or what he
- 17:38Speaker 1: was capable of. But these very same people want to
- 17:42Speaker 1: dictate our lives. These very same people want to seed
- 17:45Speaker 1: the air with who the fuck knows what. And you
- 17:48Speaker 1: don't have to be some conspiracy theorist to know that
- 17:51Speaker 1: guys like Bill Gates... Shouldn't be making decisions for the
- 17:54Speaker 1: rest of us. Why? Because you have a couple hundred
- 17:56Speaker 1: billion dollars? Sorry, buddy. Stick to computers. In fact, why
- 18:01Speaker 1: don't you guys make Microsoft work correctly before you start
- 18:03Speaker 1: worrying about all this other shit? They don't look at
- 18:06Speaker 1: the world like that, though. They think because they have
- 18:08Speaker 1: all this money, that they've had some success, that they
- 18:11Speaker 1: can control all of us and how we live. Meanwhile,
- 18:14Speaker 1: they don't even know that they're hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein,
- 18:17Speaker 1: a convicted sex offender? Sure, we believe that. A spokesperson
- 18:23Speaker 1: for Pritzker told BuzzFeed News by email he has no
- 18:26Speaker 1: memory of having any knowledge prior to the event of
- 18:30Speaker 1: the identity of any attendee, including Mr. Epstein, and if Mr.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Pritzker was seated next to Mr. Epstein at the small gathering,
- 18:37Speaker 1: it would have been purely coincidental. There were discussions among
- 18:41Speaker 1: the attendees as a group on the subjects presented, but Mr.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Pritzker does not recall any specific conversation with Mr. Epstein. Oh,
- 18:49Speaker 1: I'm sure. Are you guys catching on yet? You see
- 18:52Speaker 1: what I'm talking about? All of these people are lying
- 18:54Speaker 1: to you. Sure, we can't prove that they're lying. But
- 18:58Speaker 1: does it sound logical? Not to me, it doesn't. So
- 19:01Speaker 1: I guess Epstein was at this dinner. He sat there alone,
- 19:03Speaker 1: did nothing, and just watched. He observed. Nobody talked to him.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Nobody tried to get money from him or get him
- 19:10Speaker 1: to play ball. How can they even say this shit
- 19:13Speaker 1: with a straight face? And then imagine believing what these
- 19:16Speaker 1: people have to say. In 2009, Brockman said, had also
- 19:19Speaker 1: suggested that science philanthropist Epstein should be invited to another
- 19:23Speaker 1: exclusive event, the Science Food Camp, organized by tech book
- 19:27Speaker 1: publisher Tim O'Reilly and held annually at Google's headquarters in
- 19:32Speaker 1: Mountain View, California. Nobody has any idea who Epstein is, huh?
- 19:37Speaker 1: But you're inviting him to all these events? You don't
- 19:39Speaker 1: do any kind of research on people that are coming?
- 19:42Speaker 1: People that are so worried about their persona. People that
- 19:45Speaker 1: are so worried about how they appear. But they're not
- 19:48Speaker 1: doing any kind of. op research when it comes to
- 19:51Speaker 1: people coming to their dinners who believes that who the
- 19:55Speaker 1: fuck believes that not me not you not anyone O'Reilly
- 20:01Speaker 1: does its own due diligence on anyone recommended, Marcy Hennin,
- 20:04Speaker 1: program manager for O'Reilly Media, told BuzzFeed News by email.
- 20:08Speaker 1: As a result, Epstein was never invited to an O'Reilly
- 20:11Speaker 1: Foo Camp. Since Epstein's arrest in July, this year on
- 20:15Speaker 1: charges of sex trafficking, Brockman has declined to answer questions
- 20:19Speaker 1: about Epstein and his own role in assisting the sex
- 20:22Speaker 1: offenders return to elite society. He did not respond to
- 20:26Speaker 1: queries from BuzzFeed News about the two 2011 events, the
- 20:31Speaker 1: financier's profile was this year quietly removed from the Edge
- 20:35Speaker 1: website together with the pages from 1999 and 2000 billionaire
- 20:40Speaker 1: dinner listed on Epstein's profile. So let's just erase the past.
- 20:45Speaker 1: That's what they're trying to do. They want nobody to
- 20:48Speaker 1: know what was going on here so they can plead innocence.
- 20:51Speaker 1: They can plead stupid. We had no idea what you're
- 20:54Speaker 1: talking about. Epstein was never You know, somebody that was
- 20:57Speaker 1: on the radar for being a degenerate. Meanwhile, everybody knew
- 21:00Speaker 1: what was up. Everybody but the smartest men in the room, huh?
- 21:04Speaker 1: While Brockman was an important networker for Epstein, the disgraced
- 21:08Speaker 1: financier apparently had his own contacts with another huge player
- 21:12Speaker 1: in the tech industry, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Last Friday,
- 21:17Speaker 1: a searing report on Epstein's links with the MIT Media Lab,
- 21:21Speaker 1: a hub for innovation in digital media, The New Yorker
- 21:24Speaker 1: revealed an email indicating that Epstein, in 2014, had directed
- 21:30Speaker 1: a donation of $ 2 million from Gates to the lab.
- 21:34Speaker 1: But Gates will tell you they didn't really have any
- 21:36Speaker 1: kind of contact. It was a big mistake for Bill
- 21:38Speaker 1: Gates to ever go to Epstein's house. But they were
- 21:41Speaker 1: partnered up. They were doing business together. They were hanging out.
- 21:47Speaker 1: But sure, Bill Gates had nothing to do with Epstein,
- 21:50Speaker 1: just like the rest of these people. A May 2013
- 21:54Speaker 1: email from physicist Lawrence Krauss, former head of the Origins
- 21:57Speaker 1: Project at Arizona State University, also suggests ties between Epstein
- 22:02Speaker 1: and Gates. Epstein helped fund Krauss' project at Arizona State,
- 22:06Speaker 1: which brought together well-known scientists, intellectuals, and celebrities for public
- 22:11Speaker 1: debates and other events. All on the dime of Jeffrey Epstein.
- 22:15Speaker 1: All on the dime of a man who abused literally
- 22:18Speaker 1: a thousand people. But nobody has any idea who he is.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Nobody was the wiser. Just a regular old guy. A
- 22:26Speaker 1: bit eccentric. You know, just a weird guy. But he
- 22:29Speaker 1: has a lot of money, so, you know, he's allowed
- 22:31Speaker 1: to come hang out. That's what they'll tell you. The
- 22:34Speaker 1: truth is, they knew. They knew exactly what he was.
- 22:38Speaker 1: They knew exactly what he was capable of. And they
- 22:41Speaker 1: didn't care. In the email obtained by BuzzFeed News, Krause
- 22:45Speaker 1: invited hedge fund billionaire James Simmons to attend a workshop.
- 22:49Speaker 1: on the origins of money being organized by Epstein at
- 22:52Speaker 1: Arizona State. Krause claimed that Gates, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and Lawrence Summers, formerly president of Harvard and treasury secretary
- 23:02Speaker 1: under Bill Clinton, had already been brought on board by Epstein.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Simons declined the invitation and the workshop ultimately didn't take place.
- 23:11Speaker 1: All those people had deep ties to Epstein, Lawrence Summers,
- 23:14Speaker 1: No doubt about it. Richard Branson? Certainly friendly with him.
- 23:18Speaker 1: But if you ask Richard Branson now, he'll tell you
- 23:20Speaker 1: something completely different. I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I don't remember Epstein. We only hung out one time.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Bill never committed to attend the event, a source close
- 23:31Speaker 1: to Gates told BuzzFeed News. This is another example of
- 23:35Speaker 1: how Epstein tried to associate himself with Bill. Oh yeah, sure. Look,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I wholly admit that Jeffrey Epstein was a blowhard. 1000%.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Talked a lot of bullshit. But his relationship with Bill
- 23:46Speaker 1: Gates is anything but. I mean, when your wife comes
- 23:49Speaker 1: out and says that one of the reasons she divorced
- 23:51Speaker 1: you is because of Jeffrey Epstein, probably time to reevaluate
- 23:56Speaker 1: the bullshit you're trying to pitch to the rest of us. Gates,
- 23:59Speaker 1: who was chairman of Microsoft until 2014, faced questions about
- 24:03Speaker 1: his ties to Epstein last month. after his former advisor
- 24:07Speaker 1: Boris Nikolic was named by Epstein as a backup executor
- 24:10Speaker 1: for his will, signed two days before he killed himself, allegedly,
- 24:14Speaker 1: in a federal detention center in Manhattan. Also last month,
- 24:17Speaker 1: CNBC reported that Gates held a meeting in 2013 with
- 24:21Speaker 1: Epstein to discuss ways to increase philanthropic giving. Epstein was
- 24:27Speaker 1: introduced to Bill Gates as someone who was interested in
- 24:30Speaker 1: helping grow philanthropy. A spokesperson for Gates told BuzzFeed News
- 24:34Speaker 1: by email, Although Epstein pursued Bill Gates aggressively, any account
- 24:38Speaker 1: of a business partnership or a personal relationship between the
- 24:41Speaker 1: two is simply not true. And any claim that Epstein
- 24:45Speaker 1: directed any programmatic or personal grant-making for Bill Gates is
- 24:50Speaker 1: completely false. Well, we know that statement's bullshit now. We
- 24:53Speaker 1: know that Bill Gates has already come out and apologized
- 24:56Speaker 1: for his relationship with Epstein. First it was the denial,
- 24:59Speaker 1: then when that didn't work, well I better apologize. But
- 25:03Speaker 1: do you really think he's sorry? I don't. I think
- 25:05Speaker 1: he's sorry he got caught. Besides that? You think Bill
- 25:09Speaker 1: Gates cares about the survivors? Why didn't he set a
- 25:12Speaker 1: grant up for them? Or hell, how about offering to
- 25:15Speaker 1: pay for therapy at least? Didn't do that either, did he?
- 25:18Speaker 1: But he cares so much about humanity. Richard did not
- 25:22Speaker 1: agree to an event at the university for this date,
- 25:26Speaker 1: nor was he on board for this, a spokesperson for
- 25:28Speaker 1: Branson told BuzzFeed News by email. While Epstein may have
- 25:32Speaker 1: sought access to elite circles to rehabilitate his image, it's
- 25:36Speaker 1: less clear that the rich and famous wanted to be
- 25:39Speaker 1: publicly associated with him. A manager at the Italian restaurant
- 25:43Speaker 1: that hosted the 2011 billionaire's dinner in Long Beach said
- 25:47Speaker 1: she dealt directly with Brockman, and was the only one
- 25:50Speaker 1: allowed to check people in for the Hush Hush event.
- 25:53Speaker 1: She wasn't even allowed to save the list of attendees.
- 25:56Speaker 1: After the event, they took the guest list and shredded it,
- 25:59Speaker 1: she said. Yeah, of course they did, because they knew
- 26:02Speaker 1: who was there, they knew what was up, and they
- 26:04Speaker 1: knew people would have questions. So the next time you
- 26:07Speaker 1: see Elon Musk bloviating and talking about Jeffrey Epstein, you
- 26:11Speaker 1: should be asking yourself, and him, why he had dinner
- 26:15Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein after Jeffrey Epstein was already convicted. Somehow, though,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I doubt you'll get an answer. All of the information
- 26:24Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 26:27Speaker 1: description box. Welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. In this
- 26:33Speaker 1: look back episode, we're going to go back to 2019
- 26:36Speaker 1: once again, and we're going to talk about Jeffrey Epstein
- 26:41Speaker 1: and his attendance at the billionaire's dinner. This article was
- 26:46Speaker 1: authored by Julia LaRoche, and it was published by Yahoo Finance.
- 26:55Speaker 1: The arrest of New York financier, pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has
- 26:59Speaker 1: resulted in many people trying to distance themselves from the
- 27:03Speaker 1: registered sex offender, including scrubbing records of him attending high-profile events.
- 27:09Speaker 1: And how pathetic is that? Now, they tried to do
- 27:12Speaker 1: the scrub job, but it didn't work out so well.
- 27:15Speaker 1: And you have yourselves here, the edge group, John Brockman's group,
- 27:20Speaker 1: and they host this thing called the billionaires dinner where
- 27:23Speaker 1: all of the so-called elite get together, rub elbows and,
- 27:27Speaker 1: you know, set the future of the whole entire earth
- 27:32Speaker 1: in motion. Epstein, 66, was arrested earlier this month at
- 27:39Speaker 1: Teterboro Airport on charges that between 2002 and 2005, Epstein
- 27:45Speaker 1: exploited and abused dozens of underage girls, some as young
- 27:50Speaker 1: as 14. And that didn't matter to any of these guys.
- 27:53Speaker 1: They didn't care. Epstein, a welcome sight, as long as
- 27:57Speaker 1: he's coming with his purse open, as long as he's
- 28:00Speaker 1: coming with a few coins jingling in his pocket. In
- 28:04Speaker 1: the early 2000s, and as recently as 2011, Epstein, whose
- 28:09Speaker 1: billionaire status is now under question, would hobnob with a
- 28:13Speaker 1: who's who of academia, literature, and Silicon Valley at literary
- 28:18Speaker 1: agent John Brockman's gathering, dubbed the Billionaire's Dinner, an annual
- 28:23Speaker 1: event held during the TED conference in Monterey, California. You know,
- 28:28Speaker 1: a meeting of all of the supposed smartest people in
- 28:30Speaker 1: the world. They're gonna, we're talking at the TED talk.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Give me a break, man. I don't want to be
- 28:35Speaker 1: invited to any of that shit. So I don't even care.
- 28:38Speaker 1: All of these people that pal around with each other,
- 28:41Speaker 1: all of these journalists out here that think like the
- 28:45Speaker 1: pinnacle of life is being invited to these parties. You
- 28:50Speaker 1: just don't get it, do you? Your job as a
- 28:53Speaker 1: journalist is to hold people in power to account and
- 28:57Speaker 1: to keep the populace informed. Nothing more, nothing less. We
- 29:01Speaker 1: don't care about who you're working for politically. Quit carrying water.
- 29:05Speaker 1: That shit is old. It's tired. And frankly, people are
- 29:09Speaker 1: sick of it. In a now-deleted post on Brockman's non-profit,
- 29:17Speaker 1: The Edge Group's website, The Billionaire's Dinner, it is described
- 29:23Speaker 1: as one of Epstein's favorite events. He added that Epstein
- 29:26Speaker 1: enjoys hanging with and stimulating provocative thoughtful minds who have
- 29:32Speaker 1: achieved a high degree of success in finance, company, high-tech,
- 29:36Speaker 1: and scientific research. So basically, you have... a sexual predator
- 29:41Speaker 1: who's invited to all of these dinners with all of
- 29:43Speaker 1: these so-called elite, the richest amongst us, the smartest amongst us, allegedly.
- 29:49Speaker 1: You know, the who's who of Silicon Valley and the
- 29:53Speaker 1: upper crust of New York. Those are the kind of
- 29:57Speaker 1: parties Epstein was hanging out at. And all of those
- 29:59Speaker 1: people will have you think and believe that they know
- 30:03Speaker 1: nothing of the behavior Epstein was engaging in. The occasion
- 30:09Speaker 1: is a night where the large names in finance, business, philanthropy,
- 30:13Speaker 1: and science gather together. For one night, the richest people
- 30:16Speaker 1: in the world come face to face with the most
- 30:19Speaker 1: intelligent individuals in history. That's a pretty big leap, huh?
- 30:24Speaker 1: So these people are smarter than Einstein or, you know,
- 30:29Speaker 1: Fermi or any of the other great scientists we've had, huh?
- 30:32Speaker 1: All these pedophiles and molesters? All of Jeffrey Epstein's menagerie
- 30:37Speaker 1: of scientists are the brightest minds we have, huh? Well,
- 30:41Speaker 1: for the brightest minds in the world, these fucking people
- 30:44Speaker 1: are stupid, aren't they? The New York Times... reported in
- 30:50Speaker 1: 2002 that epstein flew a bunch of tedsters oh the
- 30:54Speaker 1: tedsters to monterey in his boeing 727 outfitted with mink
- 30:59Speaker 1: and sable throws and a high altitude lunch catered by
- 31:04Speaker 1: la cirque 2000 so my question is this how many
- 31:08Speaker 1: trafficked girls were on the plane at this time acting
- 31:11Speaker 1: as you know flight attendants and otherwise. We know Shantae
- 31:15Speaker 1: Davies has talked about this before. So all of these
- 31:18Speaker 1: fucking rich people are hanging out with Epstein, flying around
- 31:21Speaker 1: on his plane like they don't have their own. And
- 31:23Speaker 1: for what reason? Why? Just because they enjoyed his company, huh? Yeah, right.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I'm guessing, and I can't prove this, obviously, but I'm
- 31:31Speaker 1: guessing that they were all having a bite of the
- 31:34Speaker 1: forbidden fruit. Photographed on board the plane were Brockman, Steven Pinker,
- 31:40Speaker 1: Daniel C. Dennett, Katinka Mattson and Richard Dawkins. Richard Dawkins
- 31:46Speaker 1: is the guy that talks about evolution and how, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 1: there's no God and shit like that, right? Now, as
- 31:54Speaker 1: you all know by now, I'm agnostic when it comes
- 31:56Speaker 1: to religion. I don't have arrogance enough to act like
- 32:01Speaker 1: I know what's what one way or the other. But
- 32:03Speaker 1: these people that were on this plane with Epstein and
- 32:07Speaker 1: being toted around by Epstein when they all have access
- 32:10Speaker 1: to their own shit, they have some explaining to do.
- 32:13Speaker 1: But again, none of these people have been forced to
- 32:16Speaker 1: explain anything. They give us these garbage-ass, canned, generic excuses
- 32:22Speaker 1: for why they were with Epstein, and then we all
- 32:24Speaker 1: just move on to the next topic. The original caption
- 32:32Speaker 1: shown above from a Yahoo Finance screen grab says, has
- 32:36Speaker 1: been altered to exclude the association with Epstein. So, when
- 32:41Speaker 1: you look at the article, you click on the link,
- 32:44Speaker 1: that'll be in the description box, you'll be able to
- 32:46Speaker 1: see all of this. You know, how it was washed,
- 32:50Speaker 1: how it was cut down, and how it was altered. Pinker,
- 32:54Speaker 1: a Harvard professor of psychology and author, was on board
- 32:57Speaker 1: that flight. He told Yahoo Finance that he has found
- 33:01Speaker 1: himself at some of the same events as Epstein, but
- 33:04Speaker 1: has no personal or professional relationship with him and has
- 33:07Speaker 1: only spoken to him three times that he can recall.
- 33:10Speaker 1: So why were you on his plane, bro? If you
- 33:13Speaker 1: don't know the guy, you're just going to hop on
- 33:16Speaker 1: his plane and then, you know, act like you aren't
- 33:19Speaker 1: friends after that? It doesn't make any sense to me.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Maybe it's different in the world of these so-called elite,
- 33:26Speaker 1: but in the real world, you're not hopping on anyone's
- 33:29Speaker 1: jet if you guys aren't homies. I first met Epstein
- 33:33Speaker 1: a couple of years before that plane trip, when I
- 33:36Speaker 1: was invited to chat with him over coffee with a
- 33:39Speaker 1: few mutual friends, who said he was really smart, intellectual,
- 33:43Speaker 1: and scientifically curious, Pinker told Yahoo Finance. My own impressions
- 33:48Speaker 1: were different. Oh yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure that you
- 33:51Speaker 1: were just so anti-Epstein that you got on his plane
- 33:54Speaker 1: and went on this trip a few years later. Please
- 33:57Speaker 1: shut up, okay? All of these people with their dumbass excuses?
- 34:01Speaker 1: I don't want to hear them anymore. Pinker went on
- 34:05Speaker 1: to describe Epstein... Funny though, that him and all of
- 34:08Speaker 1: his people were willing to take money from Epstein, even
- 34:10Speaker 1: though he was a kibitzer though, right? Another passenger on
- 34:33Speaker 1: that trip, the philosopher and author Daniel C. Dennett, described
- 34:37Speaker 1: the flight as uneventful and that Epstein pretty much stayed
- 34:41Speaker 1: to himself. Two photos completely removed. Look, Epstein didn't stay
- 34:45Speaker 1: to himself. Stop it. He was all over that plane
- 34:47Speaker 1: talking to people, you know, doing his thing. We all
- 34:50Speaker 1: know how Epstein conducted himself, what he was up to,
- 34:53Speaker 1: and how he conducted himself amongst people like these scientists.
- 34:58Speaker 1: While the Epstein mention in the plane photo caption was altered...
- 35:01Speaker 1: Two photos from the event are no longer featured on
- 35:04Speaker 1: the Edge's website. At the 2002 dinner were guests like
- 35:08Speaker 1: Dean Kamen, Linda Stone, Richard Saul Worman, Steve Petranek, Jeff Bezos,
- 35:15Speaker 1: John Markoff, Kara Swisher, Nathan Mierwald, Christopher J. Anderson, George Dyson,
- 35:22Speaker 1: George Dyson, W. Daniel Hillis, Stuart Brand, Katinka Mattson, Peter Schwartz,
- 35:28Speaker 1: Ryan Phelan, Richard Dawkin, Louis Rossetto, Daniel C. Dennett, David Bunnell,
- 35:34Speaker 1: Stephen Levy, Charles Simone, Sergi Brin, and Marnie Morris, according
- 35:39Speaker 1: to the page. And Sergi Brin's pretty funny considering, right?
- 35:44Speaker 1: At least one guest in particular stood out as not
- 35:47Speaker 1: having a major business or literary accomplishments. That person is
- 35:51Speaker 1: Sarah Kellen, who appears in now-deleted photographs. Of course she
- 35:55Speaker 1: was there. She was, look, she was Epstein's number one
- 35:59Speaker 1: when it came to this sort of thing. She had
- 36:02Speaker 1: to be with him everywhere he went. And that's Southwest Gas. Kellen,
- 36:06Speaker 1: who is now married to NASCAR driver Brian Vickers, has
- 36:09Speaker 1: been accused of recruiting young girls, maintaining Epstein's schedule and
- 36:13Speaker 1: handling travel arrangements for the young girls being exploited, and
- 36:17Speaker 1: she has been fingered as someone who took part in
- 36:19Speaker 1: some of the abuse as well. Let's not forget that out.
- 36:23Speaker 1: She specifically identified in the controversy lenient non-prosecution agreement as
- 36:30Speaker 1: a potential co-conspirator. For nearly 15 years, Epstein's foundations have
- 36:36Speaker 1: been major financial supporters of Brockman's nonprofit, the Edge Foundation,
- 36:41Speaker 1: contributing more than half a million dollars in that time frame,
- 36:45Speaker 1: according to Yahoo Finance's calculations. In 990 filings, Epstein's, the
- 36:50Speaker 1: COUQ Foundation, donated $ 25, 000 in 2001. 50,000 in 2003, 55,000
- 36:57Speaker 1: in 2004, and 200,000 in 2005 to the Edge Foundation Incorporated. Oh,
- 37:06Speaker 1: you know, he had no part of that, though. He's
- 37:07Speaker 1: not a big part of this. He was just a
- 37:09Speaker 1: guy hanging out. No big deal. Epstein had nothing to
- 37:12Speaker 1: do with the Edge Foundations. The investigation into Epstein began
- 37:17Speaker 1: in 2005 by the Palm Beach Police Department. As the U.S.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Attorney for the Southern District of Florida began preparing federal
- 37:25Speaker 1: criminal charges, Epstein's attorneys began plea bargain discussions. On September 24, 2007,
- 37:32Speaker 1: Epstein signed the Controversial Non-Prosecution Agreement with the U.S. Attorney's Office.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Imagine that. I know we talk about it all the time,
- 37:41Speaker 1: but imagine that. In that agreement, he pled guilty to
- 37:46Speaker 1: one count of solicitation of prostitution and agreed that he
- 37:50Speaker 1: would register as a sex offender. He also agreed to
- 37:53Speaker 1: a 30-month sentence, including 18 months of jail time and
- 37:57Speaker 1: 12 months of community control. In exchange, the U.S. Attorney's
- 38:01Speaker 1: Office agreed to not pursue federal charges. Epstein was released
- 38:09Speaker 1: in 2009 from the Palm Beach County Stockade after only
- 38:12Speaker 1: 13 months spent in the private wing with six days
- 38:15Speaker 1: of work release per week. In 2011, Epstein appeared again
- 38:21Speaker 1: at Brockman's Billionaires Dinner, according to the New York Times.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Guests at the event included Bezos, Brin, Myhrvold, Elon Musk,
- 38:31Speaker 1: Marissa Mayer, Zach Bogue, Ann Wojcicki, and David Brooks, a
- 38:36Speaker 1: page for the dinner shows. And again, it just shows
- 38:39Speaker 1: you folks all of the people Epstein was associating with.
- 38:42Speaker 1: How many of these people have come out and said, well,
- 38:44Speaker 1: we know this about Epstein. He was with us here.
- 38:46Speaker 1: This is what happened. Blah, blah, blah. None of them, right? Exactly.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Epstein attended the billionaire's dinner in 1999 and in 2000.
- 38:58Speaker 1: But those pages appeared to have also been removed. He
- 39:02Speaker 1: also attended in 2004 at a downsized or more exclusive dinner.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And remember, he was invited to this after he was
