- 0:00Speaker 1: All right. Welcome back to ACC football addiction, canes and Seminoles.
- 0:05Speaker 1: I've got Alex Dono locked on canes with us today.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We are presented by prize picks. All new users play $ 5,
- 0:10Speaker 1: get $ 150 in lineups instantly. If you win using code
- 0:13Speaker 1: HMA Dono, it's rivalry week and it doesn't really feel
- 0:17Speaker 1: like it. I know that if I had to pick,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'd rather be on the Miami side than the FSU
- 0:24Speaker 1: side of the rivalry. But I have asked everybody we've
- 0:26Speaker 1: talked with like, I mean, do you get that same sense? Like, obviously, again,
- 0:29Speaker 1: you'd rather be on the expected winning side, but it
- 0:32Speaker 1: doesn't feel like a typical Miami FSU rivalry hate week.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It sure doesn't. I mean, normally on one of these
- 0:38Speaker 2: hate weeks, you would have people arguing over who's going
- 0:42Speaker 2: to kick the other's butt and what the score is
- 0:44Speaker 2: going to be. There's not a whole lot of that.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And I stumbled upon this really weird thread on Twitter yesterday, TJ,
- 0:52Speaker 2: where Miami fans were arguing with Florida State fans over accounting.
- 0:57Speaker 2: With that Sports Business Journal article that came out about
- 1:00Speaker 2: Florida State, there's people arguing debts versus assets. And listen,
- 1:05Speaker 2: accounting is the farthest thing from my area of expertise,
- 1:08Speaker 2: being a communications guy. So I didn't understand half of
- 1:12Speaker 2: what was being thrown out there. But they're arguing over
- 1:15Speaker 2: debt more than they're arguing over what's actually going to
- 1:17Speaker 2: happen in the game. And I don't like that. I
- 1:19Speaker 2: want to get back to where we truly get the
- 1:21Speaker 2: football rivalry.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny because I get the sentiment from Miami fans,
- 1:26Speaker 1: not all of them, but most of them are very
- 1:30Speaker 1: okay saying, listen, we like when you're down.
- 1:33Speaker 3: We like watching you lose.
- 1:35Speaker 1: We like watching you blow big games or kick wide
- 1:37Speaker 1: rights or whatever.
- 1:39Speaker 3: We don't want you to be so.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Bad that you are actively rooting for the same team
- 1:44Speaker 1: as us this weekend. We want it to at least
- 1:46Speaker 1: be a fun experience. anticipatory buildup. Like I think even
- 1:52Speaker 1: last year we convinced ourselves that it was going to
- 1:55Speaker 1: be a competitive game. And I guess final score was competitive.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't know how much the actual game was outside
- 2:00Speaker 1: of the fourth quarter, but you know, in 2022, I
- 2:03Speaker 1: think Miami fans, you know, as lopsided as that guy
- 2:07Speaker 1: kind of convinced themselves that like, Hey, if some things break, right.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You know, like maybe we can be in this thing,
- 2:12Speaker 1: 2020 Florida state got blown out. I don't think we
- 2:15Speaker 1: expect that was game three of the season. So a
- 2:17Speaker 1: little bit different, but Florida state kind of thought like,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we could maybe do some things well here,
- 2:21Speaker 1: even though it's year one under Norville. So yeah, this
- 2:24Speaker 1: week just sucks from, from that perspective where there's no,
- 2:28Speaker 1: like no one is lying to themselves and thinking that
- 2:30Speaker 1: this could be a game, but I do want to
- 2:33Speaker 1: spend a couple of minutes this morning talking about the
- 2:36Speaker 1: recruiting aspect of this, because you know, I've had people
- 2:39Speaker 1: question and I've even kind of thought it like, is
- 2:42Speaker 1: there any chance that Mario would, lay off the gas,
- 2:46Speaker 1: let this be a little closer to ensure that Mike
- 2:49Speaker 1: Norvell was back for another season. Could, could that be
- 2:52Speaker 1: like the ultimate troll move by him? When you look
- 2:55Speaker 1: at the recruits, that'll be there. I don't worry about
- 2:58Speaker 1: that quite as much because it is one of the
- 3:00Speaker 1: most loaded lists you've ever seen. I think there's a
- 3:04Speaker 1: lot of factors for that. Obviously, the rivalry game plays in.
- 3:07Speaker 1: You think about Miami's home schedule. There's the Virginia Tech
- 3:09Speaker 1: game later. We'll see what that's like, but there's just
- 3:12Speaker 1: not a lot of great games on this schedule. Not
- 3:14Speaker 1: that this is expected to be a great game, but
- 3:16Speaker 1: it is a Saturday night at home with a rival
- 3:19Speaker 1: coming in and a rival that I don't know, in
- 3:22Speaker 1: the very near future, you might have to compete against
- 3:24Speaker 1: for recruits. I don't know that they really are right now,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but you might have to compete against for recruits again
- 3:29Speaker 1: one day if they find somebody they can recruit. So
- 3:31Speaker 1: just one of the most loaded lists that I can
- 3:33Speaker 1: remember of any school, anywhere, anytime will take place in
- 3:37Speaker 1: Hard Rock on Saturday night.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's insane.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I was talking earlier this week, or I guess it
- 3:41Speaker 2: was late last week, with EJ Holland from Rivals on 3,
- 3:44Speaker 2: and he said, like, not only is it the most
- 3:47Speaker 2: loaded recruiting list, obviously that Miami is going to have
- 3:50Speaker 2: at a game this year, but in all of college football,
- 3:52Speaker 2: like there's not another game anywhere where you expect to
- 3:56Speaker 2: have this high of a concentration of blue chip recruits where,
- 4:00Speaker 2: you know, if you go by, um, you know, the
- 4:02Speaker 2: rivals on three, uh, they have, I think five of
- 4:06Speaker 2: the top 10 players in the class of 2028 are
- 4:09Speaker 2: going to be there in 13 of the top 50,
- 4:11Speaker 2: you know, including standouts like five-star receiver, Bryson, right. Who's
- 4:15Speaker 2: the top player in the class period, uh, five-star edge
- 4:18Speaker 2: rusher Asher Guioto, five-star offensive lineman Maui Tonada, five-star safety
- 4:23Speaker 2: Casey Barner are the ones that are highest on that list.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I mean, these are players Miami's competing with top programs
- 4:28Speaker 2: in the country for. But to your point, TJ, I mean,
- 4:32Speaker 2: Mario Cristobal and his staff really made an effort knowing
- 4:36Speaker 2: the home schedule for Miami this year, there's not a
- 4:39Speaker 2: lot of juice. I mean, obviously, the Florida State-Miami rivalry,
- 4:43Speaker 2: no matter how down or up one team is, This
- 4:46Speaker 2: is always going to be a game that has a
- 4:49Speaker 2: good atmosphere, and it should be a good time at
- 4:51Speaker 2: Hard Rock Stadium. Of course, the other really big game
- 4:54Speaker 2: on Miami's schedule this year is Notre Dame, but that's
- 4:57Speaker 2: on the road. So they made the conscious decision to
- 5:00Speaker 2: try to kind of funnel their biggest recruiting targets that
- 5:04Speaker 2: this is the game you want to come to. Let's
- 5:06Speaker 2: load this one up with the top players in the country.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And so, yeah, listen, sometimes rivalry games play out in
- 5:13Speaker 2: ways you don't expect. But I know that I would
- 5:17Speaker 2: imagine if Mario Cristobal did have the opportunity to keep
- 5:21Speaker 2: his foot on the gas late in the game, if
- 5:23Speaker 2: it isn't close, I think he would do everything he
- 5:27Speaker 2: can to try to make it look lopsided. But there's
- 5:31Speaker 2: a couple of wrinkles there, though, TJ, that could kind
- 5:33Speaker 2: of change that conversation. I've been looking at the weather
- 5:36Speaker 2: report for the last day or so, and it's looking
- 5:39Speaker 2: like I wish they could move this game to noon,
- 5:43Speaker 2: but I don't think ABC ESPN would sign off on that.
- 5:46Speaker 2: So I, it sounds like there's going to be a
- 5:47Speaker 2: lot of rain there, which, um, and I, and I'm like,
- 5:50Speaker 2: I'm not making any excuses for, this will make Miami
- 5:53Speaker 2: worse or anything, but it could definitely make you want
- 5:56Speaker 2: to focus more on running the football. If it's raining
- 5:58Speaker 2: heavily throughout the game. Uh, so maybe you don't quite
- 6:02Speaker 2: get the air show you would normally get from, uh,
- 6:05Speaker 2: from Darian Mensah and from Malachi Tony. And then also, uh,
- 6:09Speaker 2: If Mario does have a comfortable lead late in the game,
- 6:13Speaker 2: that's when he tends to go to those drives of,
- 6:15Speaker 2: let's just run Mark Fletcher nine straight times. I don't
- 6:19Speaker 2: necessarily expect Mensah to be thrown to the corner of
- 6:22Speaker 2: the end zone in the fourth quarter. That's why I'm
- 6:25Speaker 2: picking a score that is not in the 50s or
- 6:29Speaker 2: 60s or anything that some people are picking. I do
- 6:32Speaker 2: think there's going to be an element of run the
- 6:34Speaker 2: clock out a bit at a certain point.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well, if you notice what Isaac Brown in Louisville
- 6:40Speaker 1: just did, and I know Fletcher's a very different back,
- 6:43Speaker 1: if they're going to run the hell out of the ball,
- 6:44Speaker 1: that could be a 400-yard day for Miami on the
- 6:47Speaker 1: ground if that's the path that Mario chooses to go
- 6:52Speaker 1: if Florida State can't stop it.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I'm interested to see how they do play it.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Because it is pick-your-poison with Miami's offense, and if the
- 7:01Speaker 1: weather is there, that probably makes.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Your decision a little bit easier. But yeah, I... I
- 7:06Speaker 3: wonder how effective they can be at limiting the run.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Cause I don't know that they quite have the athletes,
- 7:11Speaker 1: but I certainly don't know that you want to, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: give Mensa and Tony more space to operate on the,
- 7:17Speaker 1: on the backend. But again, if the weather is your friend,
- 7:19Speaker 1: maybe that helps you keep it somewhat more respectable. It
- 7:24Speaker 1: is much as it may limit Miami's offense. It probably
- 7:27Speaker 1: limits Florida States too, because nobody can run on this Miami,
- 7:31Speaker 1: Miami defense and Florida State certainly wants to. You talk
- 7:33Speaker 1: about some of those kids that are, that are on campus.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I've seen some recent crystal balls. Do you feel like
- 7:38Speaker 1: something could happen? Maybe not on Saturday, but do you
- 7:41Speaker 1: think like there's some imminent commitments that may be pending
- 7:45Speaker 1: for Miami right now? Is there anybody you'd kind of
- 7:47Speaker 1: have on Dono commit watch right now?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, that's a tough one. I'm a little
- 7:51Speaker 2: hesitant to say, and I know when Miami fans start
- 7:54Speaker 2: to see, Oh, Bryson, right. Just got a crystal ball
- 7:57Speaker 2: to Miami and Maui Tonada. Like maybe somebody like Tonada.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Cause the, Offensive linemen sometimes make the decisions a little
- 8:05Speaker 2: bit earlier. But I just feel like, you know, for
- 8:09Speaker 2: Bryson Wright, who's the number one player in the country,
- 8:11Speaker 2: like I'm really glad to hear that Miami seems to
- 8:14Speaker 2: be trending in front for him. But like if I
- 8:16Speaker 2: put myself in his shoes, why would you commit anywhere
- 8:20Speaker 2: this early? Like when you haven't even gotten to official
- 8:23Speaker 2: visit season yet. So I don't know. And obviously there
- 8:27Speaker 2: are some 20, 27 components there. Like there is a
- 8:32Speaker 2: Texas A & M committed linebacker, Ashton Whiteside, who's visiting
- 8:37Speaker 2: that Miami would really like to flip him. So like
- 8:40Speaker 2: maybe somebody like that, because a 2027 is much later
- 8:43Speaker 2: in the process, of course. So I guess if Miami
- 8:46Speaker 2: was going to try to flip somebody in the current cycle,
- 8:49Speaker 2: then maybe that could happen sooner than later. But with
- 8:51Speaker 2: some of these top 28 guys like Bryson Wright and
- 8:56Speaker 2: Casey Barner, the five-star safety, not necessarily saying Miami's trending
- 9:01Speaker 2: for him, but the greater point is I do think
- 9:04Speaker 2: it's going to be a slower burn for some of
- 9:06Speaker 2: these guys because when you're talking class of 2028, they
- 9:09Speaker 2: have a really long time and like something that it
- 9:13Speaker 2: really depends on the player, but Miami doesn't usually try
- 9:18Speaker 2: to rush somebody into making a decision right now if
- 9:21Speaker 2: they feel like that player could potentially reopen their recruitment
- 9:25Speaker 2: and flip later. So I don't know how much urgency
- 9:28Speaker 2: there's going to be to like push any of these
- 9:30Speaker 2: kids to commit right away. So I think for a
- 9:32Speaker 2: lot of these bigger names, TJ, you'll see if Miami
- 9:35Speaker 2: continues to trend for them, but I think it could
- 9:37Speaker 2: be a slower burn in terms of when they actually commit.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Hey guys, do me a favor.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'll get right back to chatting with Jake, but go
- 9:43Speaker 1: on over to CFA top 25.com. You can vote in
- 9:47Speaker 1: our new poll. We've got a media section for this.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Jake has voted in it for this week. We've got
- 9:53Speaker 1: a fan section for this, so literally anybody can go
- 9:55Speaker 1: in and submit a poll. We also have a media
- 9:58Speaker 1: versus fans thing. So you can see how the media
- 10:01Speaker 1: did versus how the fans did rate react. You can
- 10:04Speaker 1: go to people's Twitters and give them heck for everything
- 10:07Speaker 1: they're saying about your team or their team and where
- 10:09Speaker 1: they're ranking them, but go check out CFA top 25.com.
- 10:11Speaker 1: What are your, um, You mentioned just a score, so
- 10:17Speaker 1: to flip back to the game for just a moment,
- 10:19Speaker 1: how do you, with the weather kind of included, with
- 10:22Speaker 1: the talent gap that's in this game, how are you
- 10:25Speaker 1: thinking this game plays out?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I mean, just based on watching Florida State
- 10:30Speaker 2: this year, it would not surprise me if they have
- 10:33Speaker 2: some success offensively early because I've seen it happen, right?
- 10:37Speaker 2: I saw the way they jumped on Bama. I saw
- 10:39Speaker 2: the way they jumped on Louisville, and I know Miami's
- 10:42Speaker 2: very aware of that because their coaches have talked about
- 10:44Speaker 2: that all week. So I could see a touchdown or
- 10:48Speaker 2: two for Florida State early in the game while Miami
- 10:51Speaker 2: kind of weathers a storm. They might be weathering a
- 10:55Speaker 2: literal storm and a figurative storm both at the same time.
- 10:59Speaker 2: But then I've also, watching Florida State, I've seen the drop-offs, right?
- 11:03Speaker 2: I've seen how that team is capable of looking like
- 11:07Speaker 2: they can compete with anybody for certain spurts early in games,
- 11:11Speaker 2: and then the wheels just tend to come off So
- 11:14Speaker 2: I do wonder if maybe some of that changes in
- 11:16Speaker 2: the rivalry game, if the intensity stays higher for Florida State.
- 11:20Speaker 2: But I've also seen a Miami team throughout the year
- 11:23Speaker 2: that when they do give up points early, defensive coordinator
- 11:26Speaker 2: Corey Heatherman always does a tremendous job adjusting. And then
- 11:30Speaker 2: as you take away the run, which is something Miami's
- 11:33Speaker 2: done all year, it kind of wears on you when
- 11:36Speaker 2: the opposing quarterback is forced to drop back 35, 45
- 11:38Speaker 2: times probably more than Ashton Daniels would want to do
- 11:43Speaker 2: in this game. So if it plays out that way,
- 11:46Speaker 2: I see maybe like a 7-7, 10-7 in either direction
- 11:51Speaker 2: type of game, maybe through the first quarter. And then
- 11:53Speaker 2: I just think Miami is probably able to impose their
- 11:56Speaker 2: will later on. And I can almost maybe go with
- 12:00Speaker 2: two different possible scores depending on how much it rains.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Because when I made my quote-unquote official prediction yesterday, earlier
- 12:08Speaker 2: this week before knowing what the weather was going to
- 12:10Speaker 2: look like. I said 45, 17 Miami, but if it's
- 12:14Speaker 2: like a downpour, then maybe I'd lean more to like,
- 12:18Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe like a 35 to 10, something
- 12:22Speaker 2: like that. So it kind of, it just kind of
- 12:24Speaker 2: depends on how hard it rains. The other thing about
- 12:26Speaker 2: South Florida, what the forecast says on a Thursday may
- 12:30Speaker 2: not be what the forecast says on a Saturday. So
- 12:33Speaker 2: we'll be in wait and see mode.
- 12:34Speaker 3: We may get the most clear. I'm in Tampa. So
- 12:36Speaker 3: I'm not that far. Yeah. We make it the most clear,
- 12:39Speaker 3: beautiful skies, not a cloud, you know, or again.
- 12:42Speaker 1: They could be right. And, and torrential downpour for three
- 12:45Speaker 1: and a half hours with hopefully the one thing I
- 12:48Speaker 1: want out of this game. Well, besides the new coach
- 12:50Speaker 1: is no delays.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I can't take any more delays, man.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I was in Tuscaloosa while I was in, I was in,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I was in Tallahassee for the SMU game with, you know,
- 12:58Speaker 1: the kid hits the transformer and the lights go out. So, Now,
- 13:02Speaker 1: fortunately not to, not to flex too hard. I was
- 13:04Speaker 1: in a, I was in a box for that. So
- 13:06Speaker 1: that one didn't mind me too much. We, we just
- 13:08Speaker 1: put on TV and watch TV and ate food and drink.
- 13:10Speaker 3: It was great.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Uh, in Tuscaloosa, I was walking into the stadium and
- 13:14Speaker 1: get the text of like delayed two hours. And I
- 13:17Speaker 1: was like, all right, for anybody that's been to Tuscaloosa,
- 13:19Speaker 1: there's a Moe's right across the street. I went to
- 13:21Speaker 1: Moe's watch football and a burritos, which wasn't terrible, but
- 13:25Speaker 1: also like, that's not why I went to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Um,
- 13:28Speaker 1: And then you're in the game and there's another delay.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And so, yeah, the only thing I want out of
- 13:31Speaker 1: this game is no delays. I don't care if it
- 13:34Speaker 1: rains the whole time. I'm good with that. But do
- 13:36Speaker 1: not make us wait until 1 a.m. to get this
- 13:39Speaker 1: thing over with.
- 13:40Speaker 3: That's what I hate.
- 13:42Speaker 2: And I work on the radio broadcast. And when they
- 13:45Speaker 2: get a delay, you've got to fill however long, which
- 13:48Speaker 2: can be hours. And they can't go to commercials because
- 13:51Speaker 2: you can't add new commercial breaks. So it's like, I
- 13:54Speaker 2: don't want that. And I'm also TJ the older I get.
- 13:57Speaker 2: the more i hate staying up past midnight so yeah
- 14:00Speaker 2: that's the last thing i want.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I i am not you know because everybody assumes or
- 14:06Speaker 1: figures how this thing is going to go anyway so
- 14:09Speaker 1: there's really no reason to delay the inevitable um you
- 14:13Speaker 1: know when that delay happened florida state was up two
- 14:15Speaker 1: scores on bama i'm not saying i still think bama
- 14:18Speaker 1: would have won like i i think that Keelan Russell
- 14:20Speaker 1: is just Keelan Russell. You know, Florida State's defense is
- 14:22Speaker 1: just Florida State's defense. But, like, you thought you had
- 14:24Speaker 1: a chance, and then the delay happens, and you just
- 14:27Speaker 1: kind of wonder if that did kind of ruin some
- 14:29Speaker 1: of the momentum or energy or whatever you call it
- 14:32Speaker 1: in that moment.
- 14:32Speaker 3: So no delays, please, Lord. We're begging.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And then, again, for the Florida State fans cheering for
- 14:38Speaker 1: the same outcome as many of the Miami fans, don't
- 14:40Speaker 1: give any hope to this, you know, helpless staff. So, no,
- 14:45Speaker 1: I'm kind of in the same line as you. I
- 14:47Speaker 1: wrote down 48-13 early in the week. and have tried
- 14:50Speaker 1: to just stick with that. I could see whether impacting
- 14:52Speaker 1: it some, but ultimately I don't think it's a game
- 14:54Speaker 1: Florida State's going to have a lot of success in.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I do think it's a game that Miami will find
- 14:58Speaker 1: plenty of success. I would like to get back to
- 15:01Speaker 1: a point where this rivalry is kind of fun, right?
- 15:03Speaker 1: And I was talking to somebody last night about it.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Like Florida State doesn't have to be a playoff caliber
- 15:08Speaker 1: team to for this rivalry to be fun. I mean,
- 15:11Speaker 1: you saw an SMU and a Louisville team last year
- 15:14Speaker 1: who both finished with nine wins, which is respectable.
- 15:16Speaker 3: But if Florida State was just 8-4, like an 8-4 type.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Team, you know, 8-4, 9-3 in the ACC, just somewhat competitive,
- 15:25Speaker 1: you know, to give you a track to thinking you
- 15:29Speaker 1: could win. There were very few, but Louisville had some advantages.
- 15:33Speaker 1: SMU had some advantages. Beck, you know, obviously didn't have
- 15:36Speaker 1: a good game in that one. I don't know of
- 15:38Speaker 1: one matchup. When you look at wide receivers and wide
- 15:42Speaker 1: receivers and secondary might be the closest, but you look
- 15:45Speaker 1: at the trenches, you look at quarterback play, you look
- 15:47Speaker 1: at running game versus defensive front.
- 15:49Speaker 3: You look at just everything.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Miami's receivers against Florida state secondary Miami's running backs against
- 15:55Speaker 1: Florida state's linebackers, and then flip all of that around.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I don't know that there's one place where I'd say
- 16:00Speaker 1: Florida state has a significant advantage. Maybe their, their best
- 16:04Speaker 1: would be, They've got good skill position talents out wide.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Miami's secondary's been banged up even with getting Lucas back.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Maybe that'd be the one.
- 16:12Speaker 1: That matchup in and of itself is so dependent on
- 16:15Speaker 1: what happens up front. If the offensive line can't block,
- 16:18Speaker 1: Florida State's maybe one potential area of strength is.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Kind of negated, right?
- 16:23Speaker 1: And if your quarterback can't hit guys, which Daniels has
- 16:25Speaker 1: been kind of fine for who he is this year.
- 16:27Speaker 3: But yeah, that one possible advantage.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So when you look at every single position matchup and, and,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you know, grouping matchup, it's, it all leans Miami's way.
- 16:38Speaker 3: And then you look on the sidelines and.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Certainly that leans Miami's way with the way that the
- 16:42Speaker 1: coaches and coordinators and even position coaches are all kind
- 16:45Speaker 1: of graded out. So yeah, I long for the day
- 16:47Speaker 1: that this is at least competitive and hopefully next year
- 16:50Speaker 1: we're not as, you know, resigned to the fact that
- 16:52Speaker 1: we're going to watch a blowout together.
- 16:55Speaker 2: On the whole competitive thing, because I think we're about
- 16:58Speaker 2: in the same age group. And man, when, when I
- 17:00Speaker 2: was growing up this rivalry, like it was one of
- 17:03Speaker 2: the things that defined me as a sports fan, because
- 17:06Speaker 2: for so many years, when these teams were both great,
- 17:09Speaker 2: the eighties and nineties and early two thousands, like Miami
- 17:13Speaker 2: versus Florida state in the regular season would so often
- 17:16Speaker 2: decide who plays for a national championship. So it was like, man,
- 17:20Speaker 2: the stakes were so, high. And obviously it's hard to
- 17:24Speaker 2: get back to that. Like totally where both teams are
- 17:27Speaker 2: like top two at the same time, you know, that
- 17:29Speaker 2: doesn't happen that often. There's so much more parody these
- 17:32Speaker 2: days and whatever, but at least to get to the
- 17:34Speaker 2: point again, we're like both teams are, are really good.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Cause it's, it's been the flip when Florida state's been up,
- 17:40Speaker 2: Miami's been down, Miami's up, Florida state is down. So yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 2: I long for those days.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Donald, I appreciate you, man. What do you have coming
- 17:48Speaker 1: this week? Where can people follow you?
- 17:50Speaker 3: All those things. Well, thanks.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Well, for those who are finding me on Locked on Canes,
- 17:54Speaker 2: you're also going to see TJ making a cameo on
- 17:58Speaker 2: that show, which I really appreciate. Anytime we can cook
- 18:01Speaker 2: this up on a rivalry week. But, yeah, you can
- 18:03Speaker 2: find my shows at Locked on Canes. I'll also do
- 18:07Speaker 2: a new short-form channel we launched a couple months ago

- 18:13Speaker 2: it's the cafecito version. You get your Canes news. Instead
- 18:17Speaker 2: of at about 30 minutes, you get it in five
- 18:19Speaker 2: minutes or less. on the Canes hit channel. And we've
- 18:21Speaker 2: been talking a lot of Miami versus Florida state this week.
- 18:24Speaker 2: So you can find us there.
- 18:26Speaker 1: When you said, you know, cook this up and, and
- 18:29Speaker 1: get this going. All it makes me think of is
- 18:31Speaker 1: how touchdown Timothy is going to Photoshop me into, into
- 18:34Speaker 1: a bunch of orange, uh, after, after this comes out.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So we, I appreciate the Canes fans for at least
- 18:41Speaker 1: giving me something to laugh about this week, but, uh, Yeah,
