- 2:24You're listening to the Be Forever Cool podcast.
- 2:26My name is Rex 45. Man, I want to say I'm on the
- 2:29mic every Monday from this time or this time, like I was back in
- 2:33Boston, long way from Boston. But we're going to have some fun
- 2:37tonight. We got a full house tonight.
- 2:40Moto GP just happened this pack week, the past weekend in Jerez.
- 2:45To me, it's one of the better races that I've seen on Saturday
- 2:51and Sunday because it was as full of drama as they like to
- 2:54say. Before we introduce the guys
- 2:57tonight, I want to thank all the folks that are commenting,
- 3:00liking, subscribing, keeping us engaged and all that fun stuff.
- 3:04I really appreciate it. I want to shout out the
- 3:06sponsors, Pirelli Taya. Definitely check out the website
- 3:11so you can get connected with Mark Pirelli, Taya Guy, also
- 3:15Woodcraft as well. We got to connect there.
- 3:17So if you mentioned Rexy, you can help the show, grow the show
- 3:21by mention our name while you spend some cash getting some
- 3:25track parts. Because if you know Woodcraft,
- 3:27you know that make some really good stuff that make stuff
- 3:30that's easy to replace if you go down and stuff like that and
- 3:34there's you know, someone in the track always got woodcraft gear.
- 3:37So if you go down and you don't have stuff, you can, you know,
- 3:41ask around for sure. So with no further ado, let's
- 3:44get this thing going. I'm gonna try to have some type
- 3:47of order with this. We'll see how it goes.
- 3:50How are you, man? Welcome to the show.
- 3:52How you doing tonight man? Doing great, man.
- 3:55I'm ready, ready to get to it, man.
- 3:57I've been looking forward to this conversation the whole
- 3:59weekend, man. I've been every conversation
- 4:02that been going in my head of what we go talk about.
- 4:05I'm ready for tonight, yeah. I got to hear your thoughts on
- 4:10that, but how was your week before we jump into that?
- 4:12Because it's like I said, like I said, it was one of the most
- 4:15exciting ones. But how was your week, man?
- 4:17You good. I've been my weekend and thus
- 4:20far, man, since we so today, man, everything's been going
- 4:23smooth. I've been doing my normal thing,
- 4:25being a retired veteran man, just taking it easy, working out
- 4:28and, you know, eating the right food and drinking enough water.
- 4:33Nice. Yeah, man, it's very important
- 4:35to drink water. Some days I slack on it and I
- 4:37notice the difference for sure. For sure.
- 4:40All right, man, I'm going to keep it moving and get all the
- 4:42guys in Jordan, man. Welcome to the show.
- 4:45How you doing tonight man? Not too bad.
- 4:48I'll bring you something, Frankie.
- 4:50Man, I can't complain, man. You know, I'm, I'm, I, I need
- 4:53more sleep. But I think that's the story of
- 4:55my life for a long time. So if I if I can wake up every
- 4:58morning, even if I get an hour's sleep and be well rested, I
- 5:01think I might sign up for that package.
- 5:04Amen. Amen.
- 5:05Sleep is key. Oh yeah, And to touch on the
- 5:07gentleman from before, hydration is key.
- 5:10Hydration is key. Yeah, no doubt.
- 5:12Listen man, no doubt. We know that from track life.
- 5:14So because you mess around and you ain't hydrated at the track,
- 5:18you your body going to tell you something for sure, man.
- 5:21Bad day. Yeah, for sure, man.
- 5:23You enjoy the race weekend, man. Oh man, it was.
- 5:27It was a crazy, crazy, eventful weekend, so there's a lot to
- 5:30talk about. I can't wait.
- 5:33I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm at the edge of my seat, man, because I,
- 5:36I have to watch it like a couple of times just to make sure
- 5:40everything is fresh in my brain for tonight.
- 5:42So definitely excited, man. Hang on a second.
- 5:48Hi ref Trev man, welcome to the show man.
- 5:50How you doing man? I'm doing great.
- 5:53Thanks for thanks for having me back.
- 5:56Hydration is key. You know, I always got my water
- 5:58bottle with me, Red Rock'n'roll just just sipping away so.
- 6:02There you go. There you go.
- 6:04I'm working. I'm working on it.
- 6:05I'm working on it. It makes it easier when you have
- 6:09this big old long straw and this.
- 6:10I have a couple of these for the grid, you know, and it's just
- 6:12see, I can get my helmet underneath it and stuff and.
- 6:15It's. Easier to drink I'm.
- 6:17Still doing this at the the track, pulling my helmet up
- 6:20trying to get it in. It's time to step my water game
- 6:24up at the track for sure. All right man, you had a good
- 6:27week. Yeah, it's good.
- 6:30Racing's fantastic. And then personal side, man,
- 6:34lots of work, a lot of a lot of events coming up for us on the
- 6:36Honda side and a lot of school sports going on.
- 6:39So between soccer and track dead, life is definitely super
- 6:43busy right now. Yeah, I know, I know that man.
- 6:46It's you got to juggle it, but it is fun.
- 6:48I mean, you know, and it goes by quick.
- 6:51It does it does and it was good to see you out of Rd.
- 6:53Atlanta and and meet for the first time.
- 6:55I thought for sure you're going to be taller.
- 6:57You look taller on the pod but. What are you?
- 7:00512. Yeah, you know, you know, you
- 7:02know, I'm almost wind. Besides, I just kind of not
- 7:09stand out. Yeah, I can see that.
- 7:12I can see that. I get that from some people.
- 7:14But no, no, I'm the right size to race a motorcycle.
- 7:18That's true. I am not.
- 7:19But yeah, that's that's good. No doubt.
- 7:22Let's get Tyson in. Tyson, man, welcome to the show.
- 7:25How you doing tonight, man? You must be excited because I
- 7:28know you're going out loud in this weekend, man.
- 7:31Oh for sure, definitely going to go there for the first round.
- 7:33I'm probably not going to race this weekend.
- 7:35It is cold and yeah, that's just treacherous.
- 7:39I got a few rides in earlier this week, but other than that
- 7:43it has been frigid up here. Come on man.
- 7:45This is what this is what you know, Bill's character.
- 7:48I remember going up there 40°, keeping my gloves on a tie,
- 7:52warmers just warm enough to go out there and freeze.
- 7:56I mean, if I was a younger man, for sure I absolutely would.
- 7:59But but these days I I like feeling my fingers and kind of
- 8:03tough to do at, you know, 100 miles an hour.
- 8:06No, I listen, I, I, I did that at Roblin in, in 2021.
- 8:12It was 40 something degrees, rainy and cold and I, I was just
- 8:15using pressure just to keep the throttle open.
- 8:18Yeah, it was so cold. So I.
- 8:22Just having those like cold, numb fingers just kind of sketch
- 8:24me out, especially when you're like grabbing brakes, going into
- 8:27corners hard. Like I just don't have enough
- 8:29feel. And so I'm like, yeah, it's just
- 8:30not worth it, You know? I'm just a part time rider here.
- 8:33Yeah, well, you know, there's a there's an endurance guy,
- 8:37endurance rider. I know he he does like the
- 8:40endurance as a race is by himself on a on a big bike.
- 8:43And and I'm like, So what happens when you get tired?
- 8:45He's like, I just don't hit the brakes anymore.
- 8:50The secrets are racing everywhere.
- 8:51Don't hit the brakes. The.
- 8:53Breaks behind and just go so you know I I think we all got our
- 8:58stories from the track man. I mean it's it's it's funny what
- 9:03Bill's character right because and and shows us what we can
- 9:06endure. Well guys speaking the character
- 9:09a lot's happened over the weekend.
- 9:11We'll go around the horn. We're kind of stay in that
- 9:14alphabetical order of, of how I introduce you guys and, and just
- 9:18kind of, you know, give your summary of the race weekend,
- 9:23what you thought overall. And then we'll start diving into
- 9:26some qualifying and we'll dive into the Sprint and then the GP
- 9:30race and a little bit of contract talk at the end.
- 9:33Because I, I think some guys, I mean, I I'll be curious to see
- 9:37your take on, on why some of the riders who are leaving some good
- 9:40bikes to, to go to some all the seeds that are not so good.
- 9:46All right, One person says, show me the money, Harry.
- 9:49Oh, man. What do you thought of the race
- 9:51weekend in Jerez? I thought it was pretty good.
- 9:56You know, I'm glad the weather played a big issue in the race
- 10:00because you can actually see who can ride in the different
- 10:04conditions. So I was impressed, especially
- 10:08for the Moto GB guys, but you know, you know, the Moto 2 was
- 10:14pretty intense too. And I love like was watching the
- 10:18guys, just the younger guys that's still fighting want to be
- 10:21there with the in the premier class.
- 10:23And, you know, just seeing the progression and seeing the
- 10:26different styles of the young guys that want to make it to the
- 10:29premier class. And it's just just watching the
- 10:31guys mature and, you know, it's just a good weekend.
- 10:35And I'm glad I, I, I was pretty, pretty impressed by what
- 10:41happened on Saturday, man. That's probably one of the more
- 10:43intense races I've probably seen in a long time due to the
- 10:47weather And you. I hope everybody enjoyed.
- 10:51It in a sense, it reminds me of a Mike Tyson fight, but you get
- 10:56the 12, you get the 12 laps. But if you if you left the room
- 11:00for a second, you missed something because there was so
- 11:02much you did. You know what I'm saying?
- 11:05You think 4 laps to go, the race is over and and and and crazy,
- 11:08but we go, we go, we going, we going to get into it for sure,
- 11:10for sure. Jordan man, you know, what are
- 11:13your thoughts of the of the of the of the whole weekend?
- 11:18Definitely an eventful weekend, the weather definitely played a
- 11:21factor and it does show that Ducati having a good amount of
- 11:30data for these tracks and having six bikes on the grid also bodes
- 11:36well for them. A lot of people are counting
- 11:38them out saying Aprilia has the best bike, the best bike.
- 11:42At the same time they do only have 4 bikes on the grid.
- 11:45And at the same time it does show the weakness of the
- 11:47Aprilia. Maybe they maybe not have as
- 11:50much data as they need. So in variable conditions they
- 11:54are playing catch up or they're seeing tracks for the first time
- 11:57with this iteration of motorcycle.
- 12:00So a lot of times, if it's not drive the whole weekend, you
- 12:04will see Aprilia not struggle, but they'll take a little bit to
- 12:10get to the forefront and get their data in, and then they're
- 12:13a little bit of a slow burner. Other than that, the Ducatis, it
- 12:18was good to see them finally at the sharp end of the stick.
- 12:20Alex, definitely, he was on another level all weekend.
- 12:24Mark definitely showed, obviously what he showed before.
- 12:28He's good in mixed conditions also, he shows that he can tread
- 12:32the line a little bit when it comes to the the the rules and
- 12:35all that good stuff. But they had to start to finish
- 12:38it. It was just a very eventful
- 12:40weekend. Harass is always a very good
- 12:43track to go to. OK, all right, all right.
- 12:47High ref Trev, man, what are what are your thoughts man,
- 12:50Crowd is pretty huge. Oh, I think it was over 220,000
- 12:54people that was there. That atmosphere makes for great
- 12:57right racing. Yeah, it's crazy how they show
- 13:01up so early in the morning and just start partying on that hill
- 13:05and just and just enjoying it. Man, I wish we had something,
- 13:08anything remotely similar that's here to the States, but
- 13:11obviously we don't with that sort of atmosphere.
- 13:14There's a couple rowdy spots around Row Atlanta and Road
- 13:17America and Mid Ohio for sure, but nothing like Caress.
- 13:21But yeah, I mean, the boys are dead on.
- 13:23The weather plays a big factor. I'm going to go a little bit
- 13:25against the grain on Jordan and say I don't think Aprilia is on
- 13:29the they were just on the back foot a little bit just to
- 13:32protect their point sleeve. Ducati has a lot to lose right
- 13:36now. They have to gain right?
- 13:37And Aprilia had everything to lose so they can kind of chill
- 13:40out a little bit on it. But yeah, the weather was good.
- 13:43Mark's still an animal. The whole the the rules about
- 13:47picking up your bike and stuff like that is it's scary because
- 13:51I think you're going to see a lot of guys try to hold on to
- 13:54the clutch to make sure it doesn't stall so they don't get
- 13:57eliminated out of the race basically.
- 13:59And some dudes are going to lose some pinkies for sure.
- 14:01So but now the the racing and GP, the Sprint was fantastic,
- 14:05really exciting like you guys said, 12 laps man and the
- 14:08weather was nuts and Alex put it to a man in in the other in the
- 14:12in the main on Sunday. So.
- 14:14Yeah, yeah. No, we, we're going, we're going
- 14:16to, we're going to dissect with some more Tyson, man.
- 14:18I mean, you know, you know about crazy weather as we were just
- 14:22talking about Loudon's weather. What are your, what are your
- 14:26thoughts of the weekend, man? And you know, you, you which,
- 14:30which, which side of the camp you on with Aprilia and Ducati,
- 14:33as it seems like you know, you know, some people are saying
- 14:37Ducati shouldn't worry. Definitely think Ducati should
- 14:41be worried, but they're getting into some of these European
- 14:44tracks so they should be doing better coming up here.
- 14:46But the weekend was certainly fun that that interchangeable
- 14:50race there on the in the Sprint was a blast to watch.
- 14:53I mean, those guys were going hard and the weather came in and
- 14:56seeing everybody, you know, making choices who's going to
- 14:58stay out, who's going to go in? Obviously Mark dropping the
- 15:01bike. But that was certainly a fun
- 15:05race to watch. And this, the main race was a
- 15:08blast too. It was good to see Mark and and
- 15:11Alex back at the top of the of the grid, and fighting for Alex
- 15:16was lights out. As everyone else has said
- 15:17already, it was tough to see Mark crash for sure.
- 15:20I wanted to see him win that race, hopefully overtake Alex
- 15:23again. But here we are.
- 15:27But yeah, there's a point there. I was like, all right, here we
- 15:29are, Ducati's back at the back at the top.
- 15:31It's over. And then they just started
- 15:33falling apart from the weather, falling out, crashing.
- 15:38Yeah, yeah, I, I, I agree, man, which is crazy.
- 15:41So let's talk about qualifying for a little bit.
- 15:43Obviously we know who what the results are, but it's pretty
- 15:47impressive Harrio for what Zarko did on the Honda in these
- 15:52condition because I was kind of surprised and the usual suspect
- 15:57who are as, as you know, Tyson talked about riders in different
- 16:01mixed condition. The usual suspects weren't
- 16:04there. Miller wasn't there.
- 16:06You know, some of these other writers wasn't there, man.
- 16:08And so you know, you, you, you know, you're sitting there.
- 16:10You know, you saw Zarko put in that hot lap.
- 16:13Did you? Did you think that was it?
- 16:17From Zarko. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:19Yeah, I, I what? Soon as he did it, I I mean it's
- 16:22kind of similar to what he did last year when he won, when he
- 16:25won his race. That was like similar to the
- 16:27weather that he he had last year.
- 16:29So like when I saw him do the lap, I was like, Hey, he need
- 16:33that's the person that's supposed to be here.
- 16:35I wasn't surprised at all because that's what he on on on
- 16:37those kind of conditions. He thrives in every time.
- 16:40If you just remember from 2025, I know it was in his home home
- 16:46track, but hey, those conditions is where he thrived at.
- 16:49So I wasn't surprised at all. OK, OK, All right, I'll, I'll,
- 16:54I'll take that. I'll take that.
- 16:57Jordan, what are your what are your thoughts on Zarko and
- 17:00Marquez was able to do Diggia and even Bez because I mean, you
- 17:04know, it, it, it it wasn't cut and clear that Proyo was going
- 17:06to be upfront in the beginning. No, I think Zarko, like Hario
- 17:12said, he's definitely in his home when it comes to the wet.
- 17:16He just has something else, whether it comes to feel or
- 17:20something or something else. Whenever it comes to those type
- 17:24of conditions, full wet, he seems to shine.
- 17:28So it was good to see him, you know, like he did last year at
- 17:31another track come out. I thought he was going to be on
- 17:34pole position. Yeah, he did come come out with
- 17:37a nice fast lap. Other than that the probably is
- 17:41like you said, it was a little bit of a slow burner.
- 17:44But in the main race, Bez, like Bez, maximizes points.
- 17:49It seems on a Sunday, that's what he's doing.
- 17:52Bez shows up and he he if he's not winning, he's maximizing the
- 17:56points total that he can take. He didn't have enough to come
- 18:00after Alex, but to come home second with Mark crashing out
- 18:05definitely bodes well for his championship.
- 18:08Other than that, did you yet? Did well in the other Ducatis
- 18:16were, you know, struggling Morbidelli.
- 18:19It was good to see, you know, the some of you know, the VR46
- 18:23member team get a win other than or not a win, but a podium other
- 18:30than Didgia. So that was good.
- 18:31You know, even though he's been struggling, you know, it's, it's
- 18:35good to feel good one time or another.
- 18:39Other than that, yeah, the, yeah, just the Ducati shows that
- 18:44they, they still have some fighting them, but the Aprilia
- 18:48is like they, you know, everyone knows they're still the top bike
- 18:52to be on at the moment. Right, right now.
- 18:54I feel you there man. You know Zarko got second in in
- 18:59the grid Sprint start. Did you think he he had a
- 19:03chance? And what did you think of his
- 19:05fight for the first few laps to keep them boys at Bay for a
- 19:10little bit before they were able to get around them?
- 19:13Yeah, like everybody said, he's a mixed weather specialist,
- 19:15that's for sure. And you hope he capitalizes on
- 19:18that and how he has such a good feel in the mixed conditions and
- 19:22then kind of tapers off on dry as a little bit of a head
- 19:25scratch. Because you got to have
- 19:26confidence in the bike to to be able to put it down like that.
- 19:30Of course, there's some horsepower differences or
- 19:32whatever, but ultimately the the bike has to feel good to have
- 19:35that sort of confidence. So it's good to see him
- 19:38fighting. We just got to get the end
- 19:39result, you know, And but yeah, those those conditions were
- 19:42gnarly, man. What do you think?
- 19:44Even the highlights of seeing top rack, you know, lose that
- 19:48front end and hold on to that thing like all the way around
- 19:50the corner. Dude, that's scary, man.
- 19:52That gives me Marco flashbacks. You know, it's like, dude, just
- 19:55let the fight go, man. Just let it go.
- 19:58Yeah. But it's definitely good to see
- 20:00Zarko up there. We all for me being a Honda guy,
- 20:03I want to see the Hondas up front for sure.
- 20:04And I wish that the factory boys would get up there too.
- 20:07But there was big difference in lap times in quali.
- 20:10You know, Mark, Mark threw down a 48 flat and Zarko is right
- 20:14there about a tenth behind. And then everybody else was in
- 20:16the 40 nines. So no one was even close in
- 20:19quali. Right, right.
- 20:20What do you think about Zarko's defense for those first few
- 20:23laps, man? I mean, you're on, you know,
- 20:24you're racing over America. And I mean, there's times that
- 20:27you got to fight for a position like, is it is, is it on the
- 20:30forefront of your mind or you're just thinking like, these are
- 20:32the best lines I can take to kind of keep the person behind
- 20:36me at Bay? Yeah, I can tell you writing
- 20:39defensively sucks. It is so much more stressful and
- 20:43taxing and you tend to start getting arm pumping because
- 20:47you're, when you're riding defensively, you're not racing
- 20:49forward, you know, so you're kind of worrying what's going to
- 20:52happen and you have to, and you're losing time.
- 20:54You know, when they keep dive bombing each other and stuff
- 20:56like that, then the guys in front start pulling away.
- 20:58So you have to settle at one point and figure out, hey, do I
- 21:01just want to settle in and try to mount up another attack later
- 21:04on down the race? Or do I just want to keep
- 21:06fighting for my life right now and and ultimately lose the race
- 21:09because we're losing time? Yeah, no, Zako, top Honda, man.
- 21:13I mean, overall, I know the Sprint didn't go accordingly.
- 21:15I got to look and see where he finished on the Sprint.
- 21:18But you know, he finished 7th and he held for 22 laps.
- 21:21I mean, he was in 5th place for 22 laps in the main race, which
- 21:25was, you know, impressive for Honda.
- 21:26So they got to kind of feel good in the Sprint.
- 21:28He finished eighth. So, you know, so pretty crazy,
- 21:33Tyson, man. I mean, you know, you, you heard
- 21:36Trev talk about, you know, the passing back and forth.
- 21:39There was some pretty good passing from Acosta, from
- 21:41Didier, from some of these guys in the, in the Sprint, man.
- 21:44What do you think of the, of the, you know, the 1st 4 laps?
- 21:46Because you know, it's like the first full laps was crazy.
- 21:49The next full laps was another thing.
- 21:50And then, you know, and then the craziness at the end when the
- 21:55rain started really coming down. What's your thoughts, Tyson?
- 21:59I think it was great to see. I mean, I everyone loves
- 22:01passing, everyone loves some racing.
- 22:03So I was really excited to watch that Sprint race.
- 22:05I'm like, this was amazing. You know, Zarko putting up a
- 22:08hell of a fight. You know, he's shown in, was it
- 22:11France last year when he did well in the mixed conditions
- 22:14there? And I was hoping he was going to
- 22:16have a similar result. I really was rooting for him.
- 22:18I was hoping that the the rain was going to come, he was going
- 22:21to be able to throw on some wets and he was going to be able to
- 22:23either beat Mark or potentially get one of those podium slots.
- 22:26But I don't think it quite worked out for him in the
- 22:28Sprint. But yeah, it was great racing to
- 22:31watch. That's my biggest take away from
- 22:34the weekend. It was just, it was good fun
- 22:36racing. Yeah, I agree.
- 22:40Mario, man, you know, let's talk about Raul Fernandez because
- 22:44he's riding different this year. Last year we saw a little bit
- 22:47towards the end of the season, but in the Sprint, even in the
- 22:50beginning of the race, he was there.
- 22:53We see Jordan talking about Aprilia, but the damn tear off
- 22:57with Bizecki, you know what I'm saying is like, come on, man.
- 23:02The man dropped down to 17th place because of a tear off bro.
- 23:05Yeah, that, that, that was an unfortunate thing.
- 23:09You know, all I watch, I watch all the riders do that, right?
- 23:14Like before they come like, but they usually do it in the pit.
- 23:16But as soon as I saw that, I was like, come all back.
- 23:20Because, you know, I think Benz really was shooting for I, I
- 23:23know if that didn't happen, I think it would have been a
- 23:27different spread because Benz had the pace.
- 23:29Because like, if you look at what happened on Sunday versus
- 23:32what happened on Saturday, soon, as soon as he took off on
- 23:35Sunday, boom, he passed him. And I think the same thing would
- 23:38have happened on Saturday. It was just, ah, the prisoner
- 23:41had like, that was just a crazy situation that happened a super
- 23:45duper unfortunate because look, look what happened to Jorge
- 23:48Martin. Like the first turn, his brakes
- 23:50were looking like the rings of Saturn.
- 23:54What he Yeah, like super hot red, but to to to what happened?
- 23:59That was like a fixer up bike because Jorge Martini dropped
- 24:03his bike with 3-4 times during qual.
- 24:06Right, right. So like that bike was pretty
- 24:08much put together. Even the bike that he raced in
- 24:10the Sprint he dropped also. So it was kind of unfortunate
- 24:15situation again what happened to the Prius, But they recouped
- 24:19recovered on Sunday, so I'm happy.
- 24:22Yeah, yeah, they they figured out that's some serious.
- 24:24I don't even know what that is. Can you explain, Trev?
- 24:28I mean is it just the the the brake just calipers just squeeze
- 24:33in the pad on a rotor or just. It's, it's got to be some sort
- 24:38of debris or something like that that's, that's got in there and
- 24:41kind of locked that thing up because those things, their
- 24:44calipers are beyond free floating.
- 24:46I mean, so something in there has jammed it up it it had to be
- 24:52some sort of failure in my opinion.
- 24:53But I think wasn't Dagnaya's rotors glowing too at one point?
- 24:59I don't know about this race but I know he pitted.
- 25:02I know he pitted for mechanical too in in the second race.
- 25:07Jordan May. What are your thoughts on the
- 25:08KTMS before 1? Second one, second, one second.
- 25:12You think that he pitted? I don't.
- 25:14I don't think that was wrong with that motorcycle.
- 25:16I think they just told him because mark the start, the star
- 25:19would crashed out. They probably sent them a
- 25:21message. Come on, bring it in.
- 25:22We're done for the weekend. If that's the case, come on,
- 25:35man. Anything.
- 25:38Is possible. I mean you know, we saw you know
- 25:40they were anything is possible. What do you think?
- 25:45KG, KTM, They seem all Bender, Vastionini and Acosta.
- 25:51They were all fighting around the top eight position.
- 25:53They were looking good for grip, kind of tripping over amongst
- 25:56each other. Were you kind of surprised at
- 25:59what KTM was doing? Because, I mean, I figured
- 26:00Acosta was up there, but these other two guys, they were riding
- 26:03really well before the rain started.
- 26:05Well, yeah, they weren't doing too bad.
- 26:07They were definitely doing better than they have in races
- 26:10past. But by no means while I say is
- 26:13are KTM still in the mix? I believe the mixed conditions,
- 26:17but brought him a little bit up towards the you know, the the
- 26:20mid pack a little bit better. Usually Acosta has been the
- 26:23leading light over there, but he seemed all weekend to be having
- 26:28issues with the bike who really doesn't gel with this track too
- 26:31much. So Bastionini, seeing him being
- 26:35able to mix it up and Bender with Pedro Acosta, I mean it's
- 26:40good to see because you know they haven't been able to do so
- 26:43this year too much sadly. Another weekend without Maverick
- 26:48Vinyalis because Vinyalis was looking beautiful on that KTM
- 26:51probably top KTM before he had his injury and now to see it
- 26:55linger on and then have that screw that was walking out and
- 26:58give him such an issue. I mean that that just sucks,
- 27:02especially since it's silly season and right now how the
- 27:06contracts talks are absolutely everywhere.
- 27:09So to be out for this extended period, you know, even though
- 27:12he's one on multiple manufacturers and he's very good
- 27:15rider, being off the bike is being off the bike and we're
- 27:18just going to switch, you know, to the new regulations and
- 27:21everything. So you kind of want to be there
- 27:25as soon as possible. But you know, KTM, you know that
- 27:29they seem to be a little bit in a dire spot because rumors are
- 27:34that even though KTM or Tech 3 or whoever has that satellite
- 27:41team, rumors have it that they're shopping around as well
- 27:45or going to sign or, or whoever is is shopping for manufacturers
- 27:50at the moment. So yeah, who knows that they may
- 27:52be down to two bikes in the in the future, which would not be
- 27:57too good for them. As you can see in Moto GP, you
- 28:01need data. The more bikes you have,
- 28:04especially with new the regulations, you need as many
- 28:07bikes possible on the grid. So we'll just see going forward.
- 28:11Yeah, I agree. Because I mean, I liked it.
- 28:13I liked it when Ducati had eight grids, I mean 8 bikes on the
- 28:15grid. But some people didn't.
- 28:17But I hate you there, Trev, man. What do you think of, you know,
- 28:21Alex running out in the Sprint, you know, passing Zarko was able
- 28:24to run Mark down, you know, pass Mark on the outside.
- 28:28I mean, I'm, I've always said the younger brother should
- 28:30always out or the younger siblings should always outshine
- 28:32the oldest sibling. And Mark has been outshining in
- 28:34the younger brother for so long. Is is it the changing of the
- 28:38guards or it's just harasses should be Alex's track.
- 28:42What do you what do you think of Alex's riding?
- 28:45I think it's, I think it's Alex's track, man.
- 28:47He, he rides so well there and he has the confidence man.
- 28:50Confidence weighs so much. And if you have that confidence
- 28:54going into the track that no one, everybody has like their
- 28:56home field advantage or their home quarter advantage or
- 28:59whatever. So having that extra confidence
- 29:02carries a lot of weight. And I think Alex knows that he,
- 29:05he digs the fans. They love going up on that hill
- 29:07and partying and everything after the races and stuff.
- 29:09I mean, and they let's be honest, I mean, that's their
- 29:11that's the home track for those guys other than Aragon.
- 29:15They may have a billion laps around that place.
- 29:18So they're riding, they're riding or Alex rides really
- 29:21awesome there for sure. He chased them down.
- 29:23He put it to it and and he made, you know, Mark have a have a
- 29:27mistake. So get on him.
- 29:30And and to touch on the KTM stuff, man, those things are
- 29:33going to be branded as CF motos. You mock my words right now.
- 29:36Those will be those will be branded CF Moto KTM's next year.
- 29:42OK, now Baja. They're going to be, they're
- 29:45going to be Chinese branded KTMS. Oh man, oh man OK, OK,
- 29:55Tyson, man, look, we're getting up to it.
- 29:58That mark crashed out. So you know, starts raining,
- 30:00which is crazy, right, Because they I remember the commentators
- 30:04mentioned it possibly could be a flag to flag in the Sprint and
- 30:07and the main race. I thought it was going to hold
- 30:09off. It started raining probably
- 30:12what, 6 laps? And so it had a few laps while
- 30:14it was still coming down and, and then it really came down.
- 30:18And you know, you, you heard Trevor talk about Mark made the
- 30:22mistake. And the mistake I think Mark
- 30:24made was that he didn't pit sooner because he said he
- 30:27decided to follow Alex. I mean, and, and then he went
- 30:30down, you know, what are you, what are your thoughts on on, on
- 30:33that? I mean, he certainly made a
- 30:37mistake. He should have gone in, but I
- 30:41think once he once he went down, he just realized, I mean, might
- 30:44as well just go into the pits and throw wets on him right
- 30:46here. I don't know the rule book, so I
- 30:49don't know if that's technically legal.
- 30:50Other people can argue about that.
- 30:52I'm sure they've got lawyers and stuff to figure it out.
- 30:54But I see why he did it. And I pretty much I think it won
- 30:59in the Sprint because all those other guys went around and it
- 31:01was just too wet and they were just, they were hemorrhaging too
- 31:04much time. Who was Alex crashed?
- 31:08Yes. And then who they were hunting
- 31:10some somebody stayed out there pretty late.
- 31:12Was it for me? And they like.
- 31:15Stayed out late? Yep.
- 31:16And they just haunted him down and just like, took him over,
- 31:19took over. Like he was just standing still.
- 31:21So I mean, he clearly, sorry, go ahead.
- 31:25No, it's OK. Go ahead.
- 31:26No, as I said and it could have been an opportunity for Bender
- 31:28because he was 5 seconds ahead of Mark and and Becco crashed
- 31:34out. This was.
- 31:35Like Bender doing it again. So that would be a pretty wild
- 31:41finish. Yeah, yeah.
- 31:42So it it's pretty crazy, but let's put it to the guy the the
- 31:45whole panel guys. I mean, I mean, let's let's I'll
- 31:48let you continue Tyson on your thought about what Mark did
- 31:51because it it, you know, he didn't break any rule, but like
- 31:57as riders, or at least the places I've been, I always teach
- 32:00you if you pass pit entry, just go around and and that kind of
- 32:04thing. And he and he and he already
- 32:05made a decision that he was going around and and crash.
- 32:08So, you know, you saw Tyson and you know, you kind of expand on
- 32:13that little bit. I mean, yeah, I agree, but it's
- 32:17also the the top tier of racing. These guys are so competitive.
- 32:20Like if there's no wall there, he's just going to walk the bike
- 32:23over if he could. So like, I just, I just, I
- 32:27guess, yeah, technically it's wrong.
- 32:28If I did it, I would be in the wrong and I'm sure someone would
- 32:31yell at me and I'd be like, you're right, I messed up.
- 32:34But he's Marc Marquez and this is Moto GP and he wants to win
- 32:39and he's going to do whatever it takes.
- 32:42I think that personally, like if it was safe, like if you started
- 32:45doing that as like guys are whipping past him and he's just
- 32:48a roadblock, like that's certainly dangerous and that is
- 32:50a an actual problem to deal with.
- 32:52But I didn't. It looked like he waited for
- 32:54people to go by, saw chance and then took it.
- 32:57So. Yeah, I mean, he must have
- 32:58talked to his lawyers after when he was in park for me.
- 33:03I know what to say. Mark Marquez was doing a lot of
- 33:07slick stuff that weekend, right? If you remember what he did to
- 33:11Digi. If you remember what he did to
- 33:14Digi was it during the qual when he both of them pitted and soon
- 33:20as he saw Dizzy go in to pit, What did Mark do?
- 33:23Continue going. I'm like man, what what are you
- 33:25doing man? Like you come down pit lane with
- 33:29the with the person that was sitting on pole.
- 33:31You see the person that that's faster, that has a faster Ducati
- 33:35than you, the whole weekend you saw them pull over thinking you
- 33:38finna get get like some extra time, I guess to get a better
- 33:42time. And then he pulls off Soon as
- 33:43Digi pulled in, I'm like, come on, Mark, come on.
- 33:47You know, people follow you that way, the same way they did when
- 33:50he was in Coda last year when Mark ran to the paddock to go to
- 33:54the go to rain the wet tires, everybody ran and did it.
- 33:57And he tried to do the same thing because Digi did the same
- 34:00thing this past weekend. He saw Mark going to the going
- 34:03to the pits. He was like, oh, Mark's going to
- 34:05the pit and all of a sudden what Mark do?
- 34:07Soon as he soon as he Mark turned his head, saw Digi kept
- 34:10on going bad. I'm a big believer in karma.
- 34:13What happened to Mark on Sunday was inevitable, you know what I
- 34:17mean? It was inevitable.
- 34:18Inevitable. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:21OK. So what you're saying is he, he,
- 34:23he, he should have run that round of extra lap?
- 34:27Yeah, he did. He should have.
- 34:29He should have. Like, even though you know the
- 34:30rules, like who has done that, who has done who?
- 34:34Nobody has never seen that happen until Mark did it.
- 34:37And when he did, I was like, come on, man.
- 34:40I was waiting for the students to give him a penalty.
- 34:42I was waiting. And then all of a sudden, halt.
- 34:44Mark. Mark been steady and he knows
- 34:46the rules. So he he applied what he knows.
- 34:48Like Nah, man, come on now. Come on.
- 34:52Hey. The monastery riding that people
- 34:54are getting grid position and landlocked penalties for and and
- 34:59this is this is this is huge because it's going to not it.
- 35:02I think Aprilia's already put the protest to to make us some
- 35:07clarification. What are your thoughts, Jordan,
- 35:11on this? There should 100% be a
- 35:14clarifications. If we look at other series such
- 35:18as like F1, there's strictly a rule.
- 35:20There's a pit entry and there's a pit exit.
- 35:22If you go over the white line, it's a penalty on the exit.
- 35:25If you go over the white line or if you pass pit entry, you
- 35:30cannot cross over and go, you have to go another lap because
- 35:34you failed to go into pit entry. So in my in my point of view,
- 35:38it's absolutely no no brainer. Just because it's not written in
- 35:41the rules doesn't technically mean, you know, it shouldn't be
- 35:46penalized. You know, then we're starting to
- 35:49try to start in line. Then what if you have somebody,
- 35:51you know, that goes around, see somebody duck in there on the
- 35:55main straight, they slow down. What if they cut into pit wall,
- 35:59have somebody open a little bit of access as long as they're
- 36:02below the pit lane speed, will they get a penalty if they go
- 36:06right next to their pit box? I mean, just because it's not in
- 36:09the, you know, written and fine print doesn't always just mean
- 36:12it shouldn't, you know, be penalized because now we're just
- 36:15splitting hairs. Hairs now.
- 36:17He was on a live track. He did cut across the grass, cut
- 36:20across the line, got into pit lane.
- 36:23Yeah. It was, you know, during, you
- 36:26know, crazy circumstances and a flag to flag at the same time.
- 36:31I mean, I, I, I think it's a little little ridiculous and a
- 36:34little a little crazy. It's pretty straightforward.
- 36:38If you're going to jumping across grass in lines, something
- 36:42has to be done. A little 5 second penalty or or
- 36:45or something or other. That's just my opinion.
- 36:49Right, right, right. But.
- 36:50Then again, it's, but then again, it's Mark Marquez and his
- 36:52Dorn. And that's their, you know,
- 36:53that's their Golden Boy. You don't want, you don't want
- 36:55to touch him. But I mean, let, let, let's be
- 36:58real, that there there's a real change in the guard that's
- 37:00happening and Dorna can't hide behind Mark Marquez anymore.
- 37:04It's going to be up at some point.
- 37:06The writing's on the wall. OK, all right, man.
- 37:09Listen, Kobe have to have to retire at some point.
- 37:11Trev, man, what are your thoughts, man?
- 37:14I'm pretty sure you know the rule books in Motor America.
- 37:17Is it is it? Is it natural for riders to
- 37:20exploit the Gray areas? Yes, if you're not cheating, you
- 37:24ain't trying I. Was waiting for that, yeah.
- 37:29I mean, I don't think he'd cheat.
- 37:31I think he got very lucky. I don't even think he probably
- 37:34knew that rule. He probably thought the bike was
- 37:36more damaged than it was. And then just the way the
- 37:38weather worked out in the circumstances, he was able to
- 37:41capitalize on it. Any other race he would have
- 37:43been so far back and out of the points and not have an
- 37:46opportunity because it'd have been a dry setup or whatever,
- 37:48right? So he'd have brought that bike
- 37:50probably back into the pits. Either way, how it worked out
- 37:53was just super, super lucky and and super Marc Marquez.
- 37:57You know, that's, that's good on him.
- 37:59But I guarantee you the next rounds or so, they're going to
- 38:01implement some sort of a pit entry commitment.
- 38:05There'll be a rule, there'll be a Marc Marquez rule that will
- 38:08say, hey, you have to commit to pit lane at this point, you
- 38:12know, and you can't, you can't cut across the grass to get in
- 38:14the pit lane from here on out. But from what I understand, the
- 38:17rules now are just that you can't cut across the inside.
- 38:20So you can't basically apex and gain advantage in the pit lane.
- 38:25And that's the only rule written right now.
- 38:27But now I think they'll have some sort of endendment to it to
- 38:30where it says, dude, you have to commit, otherwise go around.
- 38:34But there's going to be a Gray area there because say, what if
- 38:37his bike was leaking fluid or something like that and he took
- 38:41that thing all the way around the track.
- 38:44You know, you got to you got to take the the lesser of two evils
- 38:47type deal. He cut across the track in a
- 38:49safe manner, motocross, that thing cut some grass and the way
- 38:53the the weather and circumstances worked out, he
- 38:55benefited from it. But in any other circumstance,
- 38:58man, I don't, I don't think he benefits from it.
- 39:00No, I, I agree there. He he definitely did benefit
- 39:03from it and it and it just happened the right way.
- 39:07As I'm as I'm turning on other mics, the end of the race guys,
- 39:12Ducati 1 and 2 factory 123. I'll go around the horn again
- 39:19and and just kind of ask, you know, factory team winning in
- 39:25these conditions is not good for the factory team.
- 39:28What are your thoughts on that? Because you know right now it's
- 39:32the satellite teams that are in front of them.
- 39:34They got this champ. They they got these wins in the
- 39:36Sprint. But does it feel good when you
- 39:38have to win under these circumstances?
- 39:39Like no disrespect to Zarko when he wins in the wet and stuff
- 39:43like that. Some of these other guys.
- 39:44But when you're on that factory seat, these are not the you
- 39:47expected to win in these conditions, but other conditions
- 39:50as well. What are you thought, Harry?
- 39:51Oh. Yeah, it was, I don't know.
- 39:54I I think because of the concessions, it's the reason,
- 40:00it's the reason why I like the COT is not successful as they
- 40:03should be, but has been the most dominant factory team for the
- 40:09what, the past four or five years.
- 40:11And just to see Dizzy get on pole and seeing Alex Marquez win
- 40:20and to see what happened to Petco and to see what happened
- 40:24to Mark on Sunday, that was. It, it, it doesn't look right.
- 40:29It's, it's similar to like how Jorge Martin won the
- 40:32championship in 24. It was a satellite team and I,
- 40:36I, I don't know, they've been having issues with the GP26 this
- 40:41year and Petco had an issue with the GP25 and last year they.
- 40:45Didn't give the 25 to to Mobideli or Furman because they
- 40:52didn't even want that bike so they also still on 20 fours
- 40:54which I think is also hurting them too.
- 40:57Yeah, I don't know. I just I don't think they're, I
- 41:03don't think, I don't think Ducati is going to be too good
- 41:05this year. I think like they're somewhat
- 41:08bidding, they've been updating what they need to or a certain
- 41:12things, but I don't think they've been like because
- 41:15they've been winning, but you know, like when you win, you
- 41:17just try to keep on with the same thing.
- 41:19But Apria has been paying attention.
- 41:22They know like hey, of our top competitor that we want to be
- 41:25that's from Italy. We need to do the the normal to
- 41:28either changes to the arrow to to the engine, everything we
- 41:31need to do to beat these guys. And they have taken the baton
- 41:34and ran and I don't think Ducati can do anything to catch him.
- 41:39Right, right. Yeah, No, I think that, you
- 41:42know, Ducati with the 8 bikes on the grid, they had a really
- 41:45tight crew. They only have one, one guy from
- 41:49that original crew. Everyone else has gone on to
- 41:51other teams and brought some of that chemistry with them.
- 41:55And we've seen it a little bit with KTM, with Jack going over
- 41:58and stuff like that. We see it a little bit with
- 42:00Aprilia and some of these other guys that that that was signed
- 42:05to to Ducati. So I agree there.
- 42:07Jordan, what are your thoughts, man, on on what the Factory team
- 42:10did on Saturday, 1:00 and 2:00. So a win is a win, but that's
- 42:14not how you want to win. And I'd say a little bit of like
- 42:19to what you kind of the tail end of what you just said it, it's a
- 42:21little bit, it seems it may be a little bit of the Mark Marquez
- 42:25effect. Now let's go back a little bit
- 42:29when Ducati had eight bikes yet. That's so much data going
- 42:33forward. Gigi Delini and everyone's,
- 42:36everyone's cooking you, you can share everything.
- 42:39Everything's good. They had Martine went on a
- 42:42satellite bike, they told him goodbye and then they signed
- 42:47Marc Marquez. Bad taste.
- 42:49You lost a whole manufacturer that didn't like that, so now
- 42:52you lost two Ducatis, Now you're down to 6th.
- 42:55Then you create the new GP. It was the GP25 at the time
- 43:00where, you know, you geared it a little bit more aggressive or a
- 43:03little bit certain way. The front end was never the same
- 43:07for Pekko. Pekko raised the alarm bells
- 43:10very, very early and said I have no failing of the front end.
- 43:13Something's going on. And the factory Ducati team
- 43:17looked at him and said you're crazy.
- 43:19We got our boy Mark on here. He's riding the thing just fine.
- 43:23All the top guys were on Mark's side of the garage.
- 43:25And that's what happens when you inject someone like Mark
- 43:28Marquez, like Honda, in my in my opinion, he he goes on ready
- 43:33made bikes that are beautiful. He can ride anything.
- 43:36He ride a tractor. But then development wise, it's
- 43:39horrible for other people because everything is geared
- 43:43towards him. And then a lot of things get
- 43:45masked. So that's what I think is
- 43:47showing right now. You have a Ducati that now
- 43:50they're so they're a little bit far behind.
- 43:53They didn't listen listen to Pekko when he was raising all
- 43:55the alarm bells. Now they have this bike, which
- 43:58is a Frankenstein bike of 2425 at 26, all mixed together.
- 44:04Now they're chasing Aprilia because Aprilia's just had their
- 44:07head straight down and they they've gone real aggressive on
- 44:11the on the arrow, especially bringing in people from F1 and
- 44:15other areas and really putting everything into the package.
- 44:19And now is the year that they're putting all of their baskets are
- 44:23all their, you know, everything into this year's basket.
- 44:27But seeing the, you know, the factory guys struggle a little
- 44:30bit. Yeah, it's, it's just showing
- 44:32Ducati the lack of a little bit of data.
- 44:35And they didn't listen to a lot of the alarm bells.
- 44:38And now they're starting to play catch up a little bit and and
- 44:42right now they're also with the freezing of the engines, that
- 44:45was something. And also with the changing of
- 44:48the regulations, they were rarely sitting back saying,
- 44:51listen, we have a bike that's semi perfect.
- 44:54We're just going to, you know, tweak this, tweak this and then
- 44:57we'll be all set rather than going all out.
- 45:00And we're just seeing it doing that at the highest level and
- 45:04you're going to get surpassed at some point.
- 45:06And Aprilia has definitely, you know, stepped up and then
- 45:10grabbed the, you know, bull by the horns and said, I'm going to
- 45:13throw everything I have at this season, you know, and won't
- 45:16worry about, you know, next year's bike when we get there.
- 45:20It is starting to show on track. I, I, I, I agree there, you
- 45:25know, Trevor should Honda listen to Danny Pedrosa when he was.
- 45:34Man, everybody knows they an OEM will cater to the A rider
- 45:40because that's the guy getting results, right?
- 45:42And you have your test riders and it stems from a test rider
- 45:44and stuff too. But from what I see from Ducati
- 45:46riding, even with Alex winning the race, the bike is not
- 45:49rotating. It's going like this, it's
- 45:51pushing, it's doing this. The bike is not rotating
- 45:54whatsoever. And so he's not, you know, it's,
- 45:57it's, it's just losing the front everywhere.
- 46:00And you can even see even though Alex won, his riding style is
- 46:04very stiff. He's it's very just rigid.
- 46:09Petco keeps losing the front all over the place and the way Mark
- 46:11lost that you saw that the bike didn't even try to turn it just,
- 46:15you know, and and just went off. So I think they're having some
- 46:20chassis issues or maybe they're trying to get ready for
- 46:23Pirelli's next year already. And and that could be some of it
- 46:26where they're they're already doing some in season testing.
- 46:29They're ready to kick everybody's butt next year and
- 46:31they're just kind of biting the bullet.
- 46:33But from what I see and observe, the bike just doesn't rotate
- 46:36right now. There's no front end, it's just
- 46:38a piece of 2 by 4 out there that isn't doing anything.
- 46:43Yeah, man, no, it, it's pretty wild to see.
- 46:46And I'm, I'm, I'm glad that Pekko's getting a little bit of
- 46:49indication as far as because he took a lot of, a lot of negative
- 46:53press last year. Everybody was just dumping on
- 46:55him last year, just dumping on him, just saying, you know, he,
- 46:58he, he's no good and then any of that stuff.
- 47:00And, you know, and, and, and I don't think Ducati did a pretty
- 47:03good job at, you know, standing next to him either and standing
- 47:06up for him and Tyson with your thoughts on the on Ducati on, on
- 47:10the Sprint and, and wanted to his factory, but struggling.
- 47:17Yeah, I think it was definitely was a good sign to at least get
- 47:21some points and some results out of this weekend.
- 47:25But as other guys said it, it is still quite concerning.
- 47:30I hope I hope they start doing well in these European tracks.
- 47:32Don't have to have some more data going into them.
- 47:35Maybe this could be a stumbling step for Aprilia, but I don't
- 47:39see a whole lot of hope when it comes to the bike.
- 47:44You know, Mark is one of the best riders on the entire grid
- 47:47and he's struggling with this thing.
- 47:48He's trying to push it. He's trying to get to the to the
- 47:51top of the grid and he's losing the front almost all of the
- 47:54races. He's retired for two races this
- 47:56this year so far. So they're certainly struggling
- 48:00this year. And I don't know what they're
- 48:02going to be able to do to figure it out.
- 48:04And I don't know how much they're really going to want to
- 48:05invest in figuring it out before next year's change.
- 48:10Like this is basically the end, the end of a life cycle.
- 48:13Do you really want to like throw money in the in the drain
- 48:16basically for their long term prospects?
- 48:18Right, isn't isn't it weird though to to win the
- 48:21championships? You know, since 21 or
- 48:24202222232425, right? Yeah, 25 S isn't it weird to
- 48:31win, you know, four in a row and you're going to throw away this
- 48:33season and get a fifth one? I mean, you know, they could get
- 48:37five in a row If, if and I mean, who knows with Didgia because I
- 48:40mean, maybe Didgia could pull it off maybe, but he's going to
- 48:43have to fight against Martine and and and Bizeki, you know.
- 48:49What are your thoughts on that Guys, You know, shouldn't
- 48:51shouldn't they really try to win one for this, for this season?
- 48:53What? The season's over.
- 48:56I don't, I don't think their stock changes if they win or
- 48:59lose this championship. You know, they're, they're doing
- 49:02so well in other categories and they've already have their their
- 49:04legacy in there, you know, and I think ultimately it's good for
- 49:08the sport if Aprella wins the championship or another OEM wins
- 49:12the championship other than Ducati.
- 49:13So yeah, I don't, I don't think it hurts them or benefits them
- 49:18either direction. And kind of going back to the
- 49:20point just a little bit, they might already be testing.
- 49:22They might see some things on the 800 with Pirelli's that are
- 49:26really, really positive and they try to input that into the other
- 49:29bike and it's not driving with the Michelins.
- 49:32So there might be some of that happening, OK.
- 49:35All right, Will, it will, Will, let's let's talk about the main
- 49:38race. And I just say that we'll go
- 49:39around. But that's like you don't want
- 49:41to beat that one too much, Alex. I mean, you know, he got out in
- 49:45the front. It was hard for anyone to catch
- 49:47him. We saw what well, Mark tried to
- 49:51catch him and, and, and crashed out in lap 2, which which we, we
- 49:56talked a little bit about the Ducati.
- 49:57But what are your thoughts on, you know, Aprilia and, and, and
- 50:01the satellite Ducati guys? You know, I mean the, the top, I
- 50:05mean the top six in the main race.
- 50:08Zarko 2 laps to go. I gave up a couple of places.
- 50:14Are these six riders kind of until Mark, until Pekko shows
- 50:20something else. Are these the six guys that may
- 50:22have a chance to fight for the title?
- 50:24We start with Harry O. Absolutely.
- 50:28You know, before, before 2025, I thought Alex Marquez was, you
- 50:35know, able to get to where he had because of nepotism, because
- 50:39who his brother was. But after last year and this
- 50:43year this guy hit, he can really run and he's really pushed it to
- 50:48the limit And he he's fast. And I think because of Mark
- 50:52injuries, he's, he's the better market.
- 50:56He's a, he's a better Marquez brother.
- 50:58And I think like he's, he's the only one, him and Digi are the
- 51:01only ones that's going to be able to to, you know, deal with
- 51:05the onslaught of the the four Prius.
- 51:08It's like. Hey, I want, hey, I'm going to,
- 51:11I'm going to, you know what? I like the pasta bikes, the
- 51:14Italian bikes, I like them, you know, I like Apriya and Ducati.
- 51:17So it's a, it's I want Apriya to win this year.
- 51:20But sometimes, you know, depending on how I feel, it's a,
- 51:23it's a, it's a heads of tale if it's Ducati, Apriya.
- 51:26But I, I like when the different manufacturers, I like when, you
- 51:30know, Apriya has been in the shadows and I, and I like the
- 51:34way that they're approaching it this year.
- 51:36And, and I really want best to win because, you know, I, I
- 51:39want, I want him to be one of the Champions, You know, that
- 51:42from the VR46 Academy, like Petco to win.
- 51:46And, and it seems like it's, it's heading that way.
- 51:48And, and it, and it also is good to see what Jorge Martin has
- 51:53done from last year, you know, because I almost wrote them off
- 51:57myself. And but to see him, you know, go
- 52:01through the progressions and see what he's done this year, to be
- 52:04#2 after a failed year last year due to his injuries, it's, it's
- 52:10commendable. And, and I foresee DJ and Alex
- 52:14being the top Ducati riders for the rest of the season because
- 52:17they've been fast, they've been fast.
- 52:19Alex has been having, you know, some issues, but DJ has been
- 52:22there. He's just been there every race.
- 52:25Yeah, and I agree with you about Aprilia, man.
- 52:27I mean, they, they're one of the few manufacturers that riders
- 52:31didn't want to go to for Moto 2. You know, even in the past when
- 52:35the Kawasaki was bad and some of these Hondas were bad back in
- 52:40the day, guys were still signing and, and, and, and and taking a
- 52:44seat. You had a couple of riders in,
- 52:46in Moto 2. They they didn't, you know, and
- 52:48I think they're being punished now for it.
- 52:49But they didn't take the ride when they put your offer to
- 52:51them. So they really had a bad rap.
- 52:53So to see them have their moment now, it is pretty cool to see.
- 52:59I don't, you know, they, they, you know, you know, Benz need to
- 53:03buy them or, or BMW needs to buy them because they they're going
- 53:06to need that long money like the like Volkswagen did for Ducati.
- 53:11At the end of the day, I know it's Audi, but then there's
- 53:13Volkswagen and and you know the you know, the the four pro years
- 53:21and the and the two satellite by Digia and Alex to be the top six
- 53:26guys until Mark shows shows us that he can he can defend his
- 53:30title with your thoughts, Jordan.
- 53:32I will say it was good to see Alex be a little bit more
- 53:36aggressive towards mark. The one thing I I you know, said
- 53:41about Alex a lot is in races, when you watch him, it seems he
- 53:46races a lot of the other races different than he, you know,
- 53:51differently than he does his brother.
- 53:52He comes up to mark and then he tippy toes, you know, and then
- 53:56he never shows him a wheel, you know, says, Oh no, he's just
- 53:59falling a little bit. He's on the same bike.
- 54:01But no, this one, you could see he had the intention to pass
- 54:05right from the word go. He knew it was his weekend and
- 54:08he didn't tiptoe around it. He he took it how he kind of
- 54:13wanted to wanted to. So that was good to see him be a
- 54:17little bit more aggressive towards his brother then the
- 54:21satellite of Prilias. I tell you, Iagura, he's he is
- 54:26on some crazy form and I know I'm jumping the gun a little
- 54:30bit, but to hear him potentially, you know, or most
- 54:34likely jumping off the Aprilia, yeah, to go to a factory team,
- 54:39but it's going to be a factory Yamaha and the Yamaha is just a
- 54:44just a dog shit bike at the moment, if we're if we're being
- 54:47honest. But the Ralph Fernandez, seeing
- 54:51him, you know, back showing his potential, being at the sharp
- 54:55end is good. Being beaten by Iagura is, you
- 54:58know, probably not putting the best, you know, taste in his
- 55:02mouth. That's probably giving him some
- 55:04hunger and definitely going to keep him going.
- 55:06But yeah, those seems like the guys that are going to be at the
- 55:09sharp, sharp end, especially Digi as well, seeing him, the
- 55:13other strong Ducati, him and Alex, I'd say are the two
- 55:17strongest Ducatis on the grid easily at this point.
- 55:21Yeah, Trev, man, what are you thinking?
- 55:24I know, I know I'm showing Agoura and Fernandez in there
- 55:27and might be a little bit premature, but at least Martine
- 55:31Digia and Bez and Mark and Alex Marquez, you know it, it could
- 55:35get serious down, down and you know by but you know, six round
- 55:3916. Yeah, I mean, you could say Joe
- 55:42Roberts is the one that didn't take that you know out about it
- 55:45too and go to a brilliant man We.
- 55:48Love, Joe, I said. I, I don't, you know, podcast
- 55:50man. You could say Joe Roberts, He
- 55:52he's. Getting a mad rap.
- 55:55But but you know, man, I don't know, everybody's tripping on
- 56:00the Ducatis, but the, the Aprillias are just riding well.
- 56:02And our girl, I hope he, they, they, they say he's going to
- 56:06Yamaha. But we'll see.
- 56:08Maybe it might be factory Aprillia, I mean, who knows, But
- 56:12the points are the points are. Mark has a big gap right now,
- 56:16man. It's 44 point difference where
- 56:18he's sitting at right now. So he has a lot of he has to
- 56:21take more risk than anybody. Like we talked about earlier in
- 56:24the race, the parades don't have to take the risk right now.
- 56:27They could just keep collecting the points, collecting the
- 56:29points. Mark has to make that gap.
- 56:31So Mark's going to be making more mistakes and they'll just
- 56:33collect the points, so. Good point, good point.
- 56:37You do have to, they could manage it now and, and, and, and
- 56:41see what happens. Man, it's pretty tricky.
- 56:44Tyson, man. What are your thoughts, man on,
- 56:46on these guys, man, You know, it's, it's a little early to
- 56:49say, but it's looking good and I don't see KTM anywhere.
- 56:53So it really is going to be between Ducati.
- 56:56And Aprilia, yeah, I don't see KTM anywhere either.
- 57:02But if Trevor wasn't going to say it about Joe Roberts, I
- 57:04certainly was. That was definitely a whiff of a
- 57:07career choice. Like, damn, I do feel bad for
- 57:11him. I agree.
- 57:12Like, I do feel bad for him. But yeah, it was certainly a
- 57:15choice. But yeah, it's certainly going
- 57:19to be down to Aprilia, Ducati. And as Trevor said, like I think
- 57:24they could manage from here, like if they just start
- 57:26collecting points, like, just wait to see if Marquez is
- 57:29actually going to do something. And if he doesn't, well, just
- 57:32keep collecting points, keep collecting wins here and there,
- 57:35and the championship's theirs. Yeah, and they come.
- 57:38Down to just. Marquez has the fight against 4,
- 57:41not just two. Yeah, yeah, they're looking
- 57:45good. All.
- 57:46Was it all four Prius in the top 6?
- 57:49565 Top 6. I mean, even like their factory
- 57:53team or not start the fact the customer teams like out riding a
- 57:56bunch of their Ducatis, it's it's going to be a tough year
- 58:00for them to try to claw, claw this back.
- 58:04It's great to see Diggio doing well like he's been.
- 58:07I feel like he's been pretty inconsistent the last couple of
- 58:09years and it's good to see him consistently at the sharp end of
- 58:13the grid. I like Digia.
- 58:15I've, I've always wanted to have more reasons to enjoy him and
- 58:19he's giving us those reasons now, so that's good to see.
- 58:23I'd like to see him, you know, keep his pace.
- 58:25I hope so too, man, because I mean, I, I love when he saved
- 58:28his seat. He saved his career at the stay
- 58:30in GP with Grassini when he started winning, you know, to,
- 58:35to be the top VR46 guy where he's getting the newer bikes.
- 58:38He, you know, and Bezos no slouch and and Mobideli's no
- 58:42slouch and so forth. So I'm, I'm excited to see that.
- 58:47Let's talk about the, the craziness.
- 58:49We kind of danced around a little bit.
- 58:53You know, Ayagura, I mean, you know, I, you know, early when I
- 58:56said it, you know, Trev, you rolled up, you put up your hand,
- 58:59say show me the money. I mean, look, you're on a bike
- 59:02that's doing so I, I, I, I think about this with Martine as well.
- 59:05I know it's a different situation because he pissed off
- 59:08of Aprilia. So they just sitting here saying
- 59:11no, but I wish he would have. I wish he could have stayed with
- 59:13Aprilia for next season. What makes a guy, you know, say
- 59:17I'm a go to a factory team, even though I'm on a bike?
- 59:20That's I mean, I know next year is going to be a clean slate.
- 59:24So we don't know for sure, but you kind of have a feeling based
- 59:28on how things are going this year.
- 59:29It's not like it's it's it's it's going to be completely
- 59:32different. What are your thoughts?
- 59:34Harry O on on on. Aya Guru going to Yamaha
- 59:38factory. I think I think it's more of
- 59:42country thing like his pride for his country.
- 59:45I think it's more of that prime example.
- 59:47So like if if they had a Jamaican motorcycle, would you
- 59:50ride it? They gave you a contract.
- 59:53See, and I think that's why I guru took it.
- 59:55You know, he knows already what's going on with Honda.
- 59:57Hey, Japanese. He's, he's a, he's from Japan
- 1:00:02and. He could have signed with Honda
- 1:00:04and he didn't and took a priest. Hunter's been struggling.
- 1:00:09They both both Honda and Yamaha have been struggling.
- 1:00:11I, I, I don't know how that happened.
- 1:00:13I don't know how that happened. I think, I think it was, yeah.
- 1:00:17I'm kind of surprised that he, he, he, he jumped onto Yamaha.
- 1:00:21But I can understand why he I can understand why he left a
- 1:00:25prayer to go to Yamaha just because he's he, he's where he's
- 1:00:30from. He's from Japan.
- 1:00:31Like I heard the rumors about the whole Honda thing, but I
- 1:00:34think that Honda seat is David Alonzo's to lose.
- 1:00:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, go ahead.
- 1:00:42Yeah, Yeah. Go ahead.
- 1:00:43No, I, I, I mean, I I, I kind of feel you on on that, but it's
- 1:00:47strange that he didn't sign to in the mid sheet.
- 1:00:51Whatever, I'm going to Jack up the name the the LCR team.
- 1:00:54I I was kind of surprised by that and and they kind of I
- 1:00:58think was shocked by because then they got some cat Contra
- 1:01:01and they had a not a good year with him.
- 1:01:02And then then so now you lost that sponsor in Moto GP now,
- 1:01:05right. And maybe maybe he knew it was
- 1:01:08coming, but I don't, I don't think that don't that kind.
- 1:01:11Of think it's some kind of family ties.
- 1:01:13Yeah. It's got to be some kind of
- 1:01:14family. You know, that or Yamaha reached
- 1:01:19out sooner and say, look, we want you down the road or
- 1:01:22something like that. Because it is it is kind of
- 1:01:24weird. Jordan, man, you know, you, you
- 1:01:27talked about a little bit. You know, what do you, what do
- 1:01:31you think? Why, why he would sign to Yamaha
- 1:01:33on the factory. Obviously it's the factory seat.
- 1:01:35But like, man, you know I want to win.
- 1:01:39Oh, no, I'll I'll agree with Harry O dude, it seems Yamaha,
- 1:01:43well, Yamaha has been busy. I mean, they're they haven't
- 1:01:46been shy with the the checkbook. I mean, look how much money they
- 1:01:50threw to Fabio Cuatraro to get him to stay.
- 1:01:53And then, you know, that relationship is, you know, just
- 1:01:56turned crazy sour as we as we see it in lifetime.
- 1:02:00But yeah, I think it's a, it tends to look like it has to be
- 1:02:05something with either family ties, because it's either that
- 1:02:10or Yamaha is going around and they have some sort of secret or
- 1:02:13something that their next year bike is so far in development
- 1:02:18that, you know, they know something that, you know, we the
- 1:02:21public don't. That's the only thing that I can
- 1:02:24think of. Other than that, who the hell
- 1:02:25wants to leave someone that's, you know, an established
- 1:02:31manufacturer like Prillia, especially where you know, you
- 1:02:34see the atmosphere there seems like one of the best teams to
- 1:02:38be, seems that they don't pressure their riders.
- 1:02:41Seems like they value and respect their opinions out of
- 1:02:44the gate. So, you know, being in that
- 1:02:47atmosphere, why the hell would you want to leave?
- 1:02:49So there could be no, you know, some back end things, some
- 1:02:53family ties, but fam. But Yamaha's has been just
- 1:02:58throwing money left and right at riders and getting them to sign.
- 1:03:02So it must be something that the, you know, the public
- 1:03:05doesn't know that they have cooking potentially.
- 1:03:07And you know, the other rumor is that alongside of them is going
- 1:03:12to be Jorge Martine. That would be two, two people
- 1:03:15from apparel you're going to be snatching and a world champion
- 1:03:19potentially. So if they're able to do so,
- 1:03:23there has to be something other than money because no one just
- 1:03:26wants to sign for money and and be slow.
- 1:03:29You know, as a racer, you know, there's not too many people that
- 1:03:34want to do that. So who knows, next year during
- 1:03:39the roll out of the new regulations, who knows, Yamaha
- 1:03:41could have the baddest bike bike we've ever seen.
- 1:03:45And who knows, in the back alley, maybe they have a
- 1:03:48cooking. That's the only thing I can
- 1:03:49think of. Right, Trev, I mean, tell us
- 1:03:51what you know, man. I mean, did did something happen
- 1:03:53a Honda between Agura? You know how how did Honda how
- 1:03:58did Yamaha get this this rider if if it's the rumors are true
- 1:04:02for 27. I think you're pretty close
- 1:04:04there with the it's a Mitsu, the oil.
- 1:04:07Yeah. So he used to ride for them,
- 1:04:09which is it's a Honda oil, it's a Mitsu is a Honda oil.
- 1:04:14So is Castrol, but it's but when he won the championship, he
- 1:04:19wasn't on that bike, he was on the Mt helmets bike.
- 1:04:22So there's some politics there that happened.
- 1:04:25So it's Mitsu was obviously the title sponsor of LCR back then.
- 1:04:30Now it's not, it's Mitsu. It's actually pro Honda
- 1:04:33chemicals on on the other bike, which is it's a Mitsu just
- 1:04:38branded as pro Honda chemical. So I think it was just politics
- 1:04:43on the sponsorship side, you know, in the Yamaha, if you go
- 1:04:46to Yamaha, it's trying to see who is his personal sponsor?
- 1:04:49Was he sponsored by Monster or something like that?
- 1:04:52And he wasn't. So it's it's not going to be a
- 1:04:54tie into an energy drink or something like that, you know,
- 1:04:58so just Japanese politics because it's a Mitsu is a
- 1:05:02Japanese oil. It's a super oil, kind of like a
- 1:05:04MO tool. So yeah, man, when they when he
- 1:05:09didn't win the championship on that bike and went on the Mt
- 1:05:11Helmets bike, then there you have it.
- 1:05:14There you go big people motorcycle community hole
- 1:05:17grudges yeah oh man Tyson, man, what are your thoughts on what
- 1:05:25you've heard and and you know I agree with man going over to
- 1:05:29Yamaha. I mean, it's, you know, people
- 1:05:33have have left banks for less. I think another angle maybe is
- 1:05:38that he's just a young guy and wants a fat paycheck.
- 1:05:43I mean, some of these older guys, like they go into places
- 1:05:45like you've been in this industry for quite some time.
- 1:05:48You've probably racked in quite a few millions of dollars at
- 1:05:51this point. Like they're probably not
- 1:05:52hurting for a paycheck where he's a young kid.
- 1:05:55Was he 2021? Second year Moto GP, Yeah.
- 1:06:00I'd have to look up his, He's 20, he's 25, but but he may just
- 1:06:05want a cool $10 million, which that sounds nice.
- 1:06:08I'd take that. But yeah, I really don't see why
- 1:06:12he would he would move to Yamaha other than money, politics or
- 1:06:17some sort of, you know, Skunk Works level bike that they're
- 1:06:21cooking up for 27 because that Aprilia, it's looking good.
- 1:06:28I could also see potentially that the Italian teams may want
- 1:06:31to, I'll just say hire Italians. And I could see that potentially
- 1:06:38being a problem, him realizing like I'm never going to be on
- 1:06:40the factory Aprilia, so I might as well just move to another
- 1:06:44factory seat somewhere else. Yeah, I mean that could that,
- 1:06:48could that do. You know, it's, it's funny how
- 1:06:52you know, we all love the sport, but you know, we root for our
- 1:06:56country first. Yeah, yeah, you have a.
- 1:07:01Lot of national pride though. Sorry.
- 1:07:03Go ahead. No, no, go ahead.
- 1:07:04Go. Yeah.
- 1:07:06I'll just say a lot of, I mean, a lot of these teams are small
- 1:07:08and they have a lot of national pride.
- 1:07:10Like, I mean, it's known that the, you know, the Japanese
- 1:07:12teams would love to have Japanese riders on their bikes.
- 1:07:14So I don't see why the Italian teams wouldn't want to do the
- 1:07:17same. I mean, American teams and
- 1:07:19whatever other sort of racing, they want Americans in their
- 1:07:22bars or whatever. So I just don't see why that
- 1:07:25might, that might not, or might be a factor.
- 1:07:30Yeah, 100%, man. It's it's, it's really
- 1:07:33interesting how the politics just come into play with, with
- 1:07:36all this stuff for sure. You know, even the factory is
- 1:07:41where the money's at. You hit the nail dead on the
- 1:07:43head. It, it's the factory is where
- 1:07:45the money's at. The satellite team is never
- 1:07:47going to have the type of funding or the type of
- 1:07:48sponsorship as the factory team. So even though he can win a
- 1:07:52championship on a satellite team, look what, what Martine
- 1:07:55did. Won a championship on a
- 1:07:58satellite team, bounces out to a factory team.
- 1:08:02You're a way bigger paycheck and you're going to see that happen.
- 1:08:04And you know, it's curious to see what's going to happen to
- 1:08:07Dujia because he's on that satellite team and those Ducati
- 1:08:11politics are going to come into play and he's not going to be
- 1:08:13getting the Gucci stuff you watch.
- 1:08:16They're not going to support Dujia beating Marquez.
- 1:08:20It's not going to happen, man. So does that mean that Digi is
- 1:08:25out of Ducati next year and. No, no, no, no, he just won't
- 1:08:31get the support if he continues where he's at in the points.
- 1:08:35And Mark is struggling. Digi is not gonna be getting the
- 1:08:38Gucci parts anymore. Mark is going to keep, whether
- 1:08:42it's tires or whatever, man, there's so many different ways
- 1:08:44to play that politics to where it's kind of underneath the
- 1:08:48radar and you'll start seeing the results start to suffer.
- 1:08:51Digit is going to start suffering here.
- 1:08:53I'd say within 5 races it's going to start coming backwards.
- 1:08:57But it's another thing the other way.
- 1:08:58You can look at that too. And and five races Mark might
- 1:09:02might decide he he will never be able to win again.
- 1:09:06That's true. And he could, I mean, if he
- 1:09:08continue on doing what he's doing now.
- 1:09:11And the way he, I mean, if any of us had an injury, you know,
- 1:09:14like once they open you up, your body is never the same again.
- 1:09:18And Mark is seeming is going through that whole process.
- 1:09:21If he doesn't be successful, if he, if he's not in, you know,
- 1:09:26he's a he's a company guy, right?
- 1:09:27So like, if he if he's not in the top three going to next
- 1:09:31year, he's probably this is probably going to be his last
- 1:09:33year because he knows he's not he's going to start all right
- 1:09:36back from zero next year. There's no way those guys going
- 1:09:39to be he he's he's going to be his riding skill is not going to
- 1:09:42conform to to the A50 CCI just don't foresee that.
- 1:09:46And if he doesn't be, if he's not successful this year, if he
- 1:09:49if he's not in top three, that that could be Digi C right next
- 1:09:53to Acosta. You know, you make a good point.
- 1:09:58It's possible because of his body.
- 1:10:00And and he's already said, he's already on the record of saying
- 1:10:03he'll sign on a dotted line if he doesn't get any more
- 1:10:05injuries. So clearly it's on the forefront
- 1:10:06of his brain. But I when you said that saying
- 1:10:09he's not going to want to, you know, finish outside of top
- 1:10:12three. I mean, Jonathan Ray in a recent
- 1:10:14interview said the same thing. He's like, I retired because I
- 1:10:16didn't want to finish top 10. 16.
- 1:10:22On the podium, you know, I'm fighting for the podium out.
- 1:10:25There's no fun in racing. So there there's something there
- 1:10:27for these guys that has won, you know, 6 plus world titles,
- 1:10:31right? They, they, it's, it's a
- 1:10:33different level at, at at when you got that many world titles.
- 1:10:37Could you see, Mark, What was that?
- 1:10:39What was that? What satellite team that Rossi
- 1:10:43was on before he retired? Could you see Mark doing that?
- 1:10:52Did you see Mark going out like that with just a just a season
- 1:10:58that you know, to say goodbye? His good welfare?
- 1:11:01What is it? Goodbye, goodbye season to
- 1:11:03everybody. Moto GP on a.
- 1:11:05Farewell. A farewell tour on in 17th
- 1:11:08place? Nah.
- 1:11:11The monies, right? That's true.
- 1:11:14That's true. Only the goat can do that.
- 1:11:19Only the goat, only the. Goat There's only one farewell
- 1:11:23tour. No doubt, no doubt, guys.
- 1:11:28Well, I'll go around the hall real quick to see if I missed
- 1:11:30anything that you guys want to talk about before we get out of
- 1:11:32here. We start with you.
- 1:11:34How are you? I want to know what do you think
- 1:11:38about who's who's from Moto 2? Do you think possibly could be
- 1:11:42coming up to Moto GP next year just from watching?
- 1:11:47I don't know if anybody watch, but it's it's two guys that got
- 1:11:50Moto GP styles that race this past weekend.
- 1:11:53That's the kid, David Alonzo and the the kid Senna Agus from the
- 1:12:00kid from Columbia and Senna Agus Agus from Australia.
- 1:12:05Those guys right there have the style for Moto GP.
- 1:12:08I watch them this week and it's big talks with those two guys to
- 1:12:11move up and just watching this weekend.
- 1:12:15They pretty much could have rolled in Moto GP this weekend
- 1:12:18just because the way they ride, you know, like you, you can see
- 1:12:22like you get, you know, sometimes a Moto 2, they have
- 1:12:24that like textbook skill riding, but sometimes styles, styles win
- 1:12:30and David Alonzo and Cassinna Agrus has the styles for Moto
- 1:12:35GPI foresee them stepping up next year.
- 1:12:37I don't know who else is going to come up out of Moto 2, but
- 1:12:40this is going to be a lot of open seats next year and I think
- 1:12:43those there's. Only a couple of open seats,
- 1:12:45man. I'm a.
- 1:12:47Fan of Alonso? Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:12:49That's a good number. 80 and that's my super bike number,
- 1:12:51Moto America. So that's a good number, but it
- 1:12:55ties back in to CF, Moto and KTM.
- 1:13:00That's true. Yeah, that's going to come full
- 1:13:03circle that I think you're at the nail on the head, man with
- 1:13:05Alonzo. Senator, he won.
- 1:13:08He he Moto two guy. He won at CODA for Moto 2 and he
- 1:13:12won this past weekend at the rest.
- 1:13:14Yeah, yeah, I can see that. I'm, I'm rooting for Gonzales
- 1:13:17too. I think Gonzales, you know, I
- 1:13:21think Minos, you know, Ethan Guevara, I think, I think any
- 1:13:24rider, not any rider, well, any of these young riders because
- 1:13:28it's, I don't think like, you know, a kinet anymore.
- 1:13:31Robertson is, I think these guys that's been in it for like 866
- 1:13:37to 8 years now. I don't think they're going to
- 1:13:38see Moto, Moto GP, which which is unfortunate.
- 1:13:42You look at, you know, Dennis Anchu, he struggled.
- 1:13:45And I mean, these guys were ridiculous when they were in
- 1:13:48Moto 3IN in Moto 3 at the Rookies Cup.
- 1:13:52But yeah, I, I, I there's only going to be AI mean rinse is
- 1:13:55out. Miller might be out.
- 1:13:58Yeah. Who else is There's only, I
- 1:14:00mean, unless there's more. I mean, I see things like
- 1:14:02Kawasaki's coming on, coming on. Yeah, don't go to be.
- 1:14:04Out in there. Seats available.
- 1:14:12Ender's not coming back. Oh yeah.
- 1:14:14Benda might not. What about mirror?
- 1:14:17Mirror. Mirror's out there riding like
- 1:14:19Super Dave Osborne every weekend.
- 1:14:23Mirror will be back maybe, maybe Benda, Miller and and Rinz.
- 1:14:30You So you're saying you think Mirror's going to come back next
- 1:14:32year? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:34He's a world champion. He's going to get a seat.
- 1:14:36I know he's a worse he. Ain't coming back.
- 1:14:38Mirror's like Mirror's probably here.
- 1:14:43He should come back as a test rider.
- 1:14:45He should come back as a test rider.
- 1:14:48Man, he's crashed out for the like the past two years.
- 1:14:51He hadn't finished the race, almost.
- 1:14:54And he's crashed more than he's finished.
- 1:14:55His crash rate is like 60%. I'm sorry.
- 1:15:01And then when he did win the championship was off of winning
- 1:15:04like one race. Which is I mean.
- 1:15:07That watched that season then now talk about a given season.
- 1:15:11That was a Kobe year, remember? Yeah, nothing.
- 1:15:14I don't count that championship as we.
- 1:15:16Don't count the Kobe year but no sports.
- 1:15:20Lucky, lucky thing that you guys didn't have to cash a check.
- 1:15:32You know, when we go into that shoulda coulda, we could say
- 1:15:35that about a lot of championships and, and it's, you
- 1:15:38know, Mia did his job. No one gave it to him when he
- 1:15:42won it. And you know, whether they
- 1:15:44should have, they should have cancelled the season or not, we
- 1:15:46had it. He he got it and it is what it
- 1:15:49is. It was on a Suzuki too.
- 1:15:53And where they at? I know.
- 1:15:55Yeah, I know, right? I know, but.
- 1:15:57To tie it back, man, who's coming up that's that's a really
- 1:16:00good you gossip. You have to always go back and
- 1:16:03see where the relationship is for Moto 2 to Moto GP with those
- 1:16:07sponsors and the team principles, the as bars, you
- 1:16:11know, the Blue Cruise, you know, like Gonzalez, he's on the the
- 1:16:16Dinovol Liquid Molly. Where's that?
- 1:16:18Like the Moto GP, there's not a pathway, right?
- 1:16:21You know what? I mean, I challenge.
- 1:16:22I challenge. Stepping stones.
- 1:16:25I challenge you all to watch the Coda Coda Moto 2 race and this
- 1:16:30past Heraz Code Moto 2 race and watch how Senator Agnes rise.
- 1:16:36Man, it is impressive. I watched it, I know, but mostly
- 1:16:41I mean it's it's it's there's a there's a lot of fast guys in
- 1:16:45Moto 2. There's there's, there's there's
- 1:16:47a good. I mean, you know, I mean, I, I,
- 1:16:49I think Gonzalez, he may be coming apart because I mean,
- 1:16:52he's rare because he came over from world super bike too,
- 1:16:55right, the Super sport and came in and.
- 1:16:58And Betty, Right? Betty.
- 1:16:59Betty, Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:17:01And I think last year was his best year to win it and he lost
- 1:17:04it against our boy there that came up in in GP.
- 1:17:09So it it'll be interesting to see anything else before we get
- 1:17:13out of here. Quick question since we
- 1:17:15mentioned we mentioned him earlier, Joe Roberts that I got
- 1:17:19his got his autograph there from when I was in CODA.
- 1:17:22That was a good thing, man. Ever since he ever since he
- 1:17:26turned down the Aprilia seat in Moto GP, not a damn thing is
- 1:17:30seemed to go go good for him. And that's just a shame because
- 1:17:35he's he's our he's our last hope after after SIBO or I ran away
- 1:17:40from Moto 2. Now we have 1.
- 1:17:43And lately he hasn't done a damn thing and someone needs to get
- 1:17:48going. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:17:51If he's our last hope for America, someone needs to put a
- 1:17:54fire under his under his ass. No, you know, we've talked about
- 1:18:00it a few times on the show and getting Americans over in into
- 1:18:04the into the world premiere class.
- 1:18:06And I mean, I know we're working on it for sure, but it is when
- 1:18:11you're the only one in there. And, and, and now he, I mean,
- 1:18:14it's kind of tough, right? When you know, you're not going
- 1:18:16to get that seat. It's kind of, I don't say you
- 1:18:19lose motivation, but like, what's the motivating factor
- 1:18:23other than to go to Royal Super bike?
- 1:18:24Because eventually, you know, I mean, he may last one more year
- 1:18:27in Moto 2, maybe two more years in Moto 2, you know, and, and
- 1:18:31that's if the American racing team survives and stays in
- 1:18:34there, because I don't know if he'll go to another, another.
- 1:18:37He can't be American racing for too long with no Americans.
- 1:18:40Yeah. It's a it's going to be a tough
- 1:18:44look. Don't be like Haas.
- 1:18:48Yeah, hey, KDKDJR did have a good weekend though in the in
- 1:18:54the Red Bull Cup, so he's on his way.
- 1:18:58Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:18:59I think that people coming, I don't, I, I do have faith that
- 1:19:02that it will happen. It's it's it's weird because,
- 1:19:05you know, I mean, I've given Cam Oba crap for not staying in, in
- 1:19:09in Moto 2 as well. And and it's easy for me to sit
- 1:19:12here at home at my couch all the time.
- 1:19:16You know, somebody they should live out of their suitcase.
- 1:19:20You know, it would be nice as it it we, you know, we, we, as you,
- 1:19:24as all of us have said, we want we want to see more Americans in
- 1:19:26in the top level racing and stuff like that.
- 1:19:28So we that I mean, I say it in the best intention as far as
- 1:19:31that, because it's like we just want to see more Americans at
- 1:19:33the top level like it was, you know, Once Upon a time, as they
- 1:19:37say. Absolutely.
- 1:19:41All right, guys, Well, I want to thank everyone for coming now.
- 1:19:44My name is Rex 45. It's the be forever cool
- 1:19:46podcast. I want to thank.
- 1:19:49Dang, there's a lot of people to thank tonight.
- 1:19:50I want to thank Cario from 2 wheels 1 chain, Jordan, Trevor
- 1:19:55Watson from a high Rev Trevor, you know Tyson, thank you guys
- 1:20:00for coming on man Peace. Yeah.
- 1:20:03Have a good one, gentlemen. Yep, take care.
