- 0:01Sincerity is not as simple as believing in and meaning what we
- 0:06say to others, this is what we ordinarily.
- 0:10Consider to be sincerity, SRI aurobindo and the mother have a
- 0:14much more far-reaching idea of sincerity relating to the
- 0:18practice of yoga in the furtherance of spiritual growth.
- 0:23Sincerity represents the coherence of the entire being
- 0:27around. The central focus of the
- 0:29spiritual practice, such that our thoughts, emotions vital,
- 0:35impulses and physical responses, all adhere to, and support this
- 0:40Focus. This becomes complicated because
- 0:44the human being is made up of different parts, which each have
- 0:48their own function, their own habits, and their own
- 0:52long-standing genetic and race memory to contend with thus,
- 0:57physical wants and needs vital desires, the hearts emotional
- 1:03responses, the mines processes all try to achieve their own
- 1:08ends, and they do not always agree with one another.
- 1:13The mind and the Heart may agree on a spiritual sadhna, but this
- 1:17does not mean that the vital desires will suddenly agree to
- 1:20give way and support the process.
- 1:24Further. Even if the Mind generally
- 1:26agrees or the heart, generally supports, the spiritual sadhna,
- 1:31this does not mean that it always and in all situations
- 1:35responds the same way. What further complicates this is
- 1:40the role of the vital and it's desires.
- 1:44The vital is able to manipulate the Mind into supporting just
- 1:48about anything and coming up with plausible rationales for
- 1:53why one does. What one does even if it at
- 1:56bottom contradicts the true spiritual aspiration, SRI
- 2:02aurobindo observes quote, men are always mixed and there are
- 2:07qualities and defects mingled together almost any strict
- 2:10kablooey in their nature. What a man wants to be, or wants
- 2:14others to see in him or what he is.
- 2:17Sometimes, on one side of his nature, or in some relations can
- 2:22be very different from what he is, in the actual fact, or in
- 2:26other relations, or on another side of his nature.
- 2:31To be absolutely sincere straightforward open is not an
- 2:37easy achievement for human nature.
- 2:40It is only by spiritual Endeavor that one can realize it and to
- 2:45do it needs a severity of introspective self vision and
- 2:50unsparing scrutiny of self-observation of which many
- 2:53sadhaks and yogis even are not capable.
