Transcript
- 0:14SPEAKER_05: What's going on everybody?
- 0:15SPEAKER_05: It's Aiden Novack back with episode two of the Shield Sports Podcast, and we got a lot more football to talk about this week.
- 0:22SPEAKER_05: We had a phenomenal slate of games in the college and NFL side of things.
- 0:26SPEAKER_05: Last week, week four for college football, week three for the NFL.
- 0:30SPEAKER_05: And of course, it only keeps getting better with how chaotic college football is.
- 0:33SPEAKER_05: It's just the nature of the sport and the NFL.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: There's some chaos going on in there too.
- 0:38SPEAKER_05: And we've got the same three guests joining me that we had last week.
- 0:40SPEAKER_05: We've got Peyton Rich, Jake Numinal, and Landon Fehey.
- 0:43SPEAKER_05: Gentlemen, how are we doing today?
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Doing good, Nove.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 0:46SPEAKER_05: Doing phenomenal.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Awesome, dude.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Ready?
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Excited.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, excited to plea my case to the world.
- 0:53SPEAKER_05: Alright, let's jump right into it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_05: Got a lot of good games.
- 0:55SPEAKER_05: We're gonna jump into week four from college football last week.
- 1:00SPEAKER_05: We had a lot of good ones, man.
- 1:02SPEAKER_05: A lot of ranked matchups.
- 1:03SPEAKER_05: We'll start with Friday night.
- 1:04SPEAKER_05: We had the number five Indiana Hoogers taking on the Northwestern Wildcats.
- 1:08SPEAKER_05: That was a little bit of a shocker.
- 1:09SPEAKER_05: Northwestern gave Indiana a big run for their money.
- 1:12SPEAKER_05: Indiana only won 29-23.
- 1:15SPEAKER_05: Came down to pretty much the final drive.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: I think Signetti said like some quote about it, but I mean, I feel like in the Big Ten, all Big Ten football is pretty decent.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: But definitely not the score we thought going into that game for sure.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Um, it's a little bit unexpected um based on how in how dominant Indiana has been the last couple years against these worst programs.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: But I mean it is Big Ten football.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: People can run the ball, people play good defense, it doesn't matter who you play.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: Um as long as they escape with a victory, that's all that really mattered at the end of the day.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, honestly, Aiden Childs looked pretty good.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: I'm being honest.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: I will watch that game for a bit.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: He looked pretty solid.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: The game was way too close for Indiana to say.
- 1:56SPEAKER_05: Absolutely it was, but Fehey, you're absolutely right.
- 1:58SPEAKER_05: Aiden Childs looked phenomenal on Friday night, and he had almost 300 passing yards.
- 2:04SPEAKER_05: He was the passing leader overall throughout the entire game, had 293 yards.
- 2:08SPEAKER_05: And Northwestern's offense looked really efficient, especially in that second half, giving Indiana that run for their money.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: I think Indiana was only up 12 to nothing or something like that at halftime.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: And Northwestern really came alive in that second half and made it a super close game.
- 2:24SPEAKER_05: But Indiana did come away with the win.
- 2:25SPEAKER_05: And now we jump into Saturday.
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: We had a big one at noon, a ranked matchup in the SEC.
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: The number one Texas Longhorns went on the road to Knoxville to take on the 14th ranked Tennessee Volunteers.
- 2:35SPEAKER_05: Texas was dominating that game for most of it.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Hook him.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Hook em.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean, freshman quarterback for Tennessee, that's kind of what you expect, though, out of that offense.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Pressure the entire game.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: That was the name of the game.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: That 18-year-old kid was under fire by one of, if not the best, defensive line in the country at times.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So that seemed to be the biggest difference maker that I saw overall with that game.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: The thing is, though, Tennessee, even though they were getting kind of blown off the ball by that Texas defensive line for most of the game, in that fourth quarter, Tennessee led a fiery comeback.
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: They only lost by three.
- 3:10SPEAKER_05: 20-17 was the final score in favor of Texas.
- 3:13SPEAKER_05: It came down to a Hail Mary, it came down to the final play.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: Tennessee had a shot to win the game.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: Hail Mary just fell short in the end zone.
- 3:21SPEAKER_05: But Tennessee definitely showed a lot of fight in that fourth quarter.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Just shows the talent in the SEC, man.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, players play.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing about Texas.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Every single year it's the same story.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: They if they find a way to squeak by.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: And right now, Durant is the first team in the country, and they don't strike me as the most dominant team in the country.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: They have a good win against Ohio State.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: They came back in the second half to get that done.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: But every single year is the same with Texas.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: They they play good teams, not great teams, and they find a way to squeak on a victory, and when it comes to a big a big game, they always lose.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: So I'm interested to see if Arch Manning can step up and actually progress this year and read defense defenses and they can get it done.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, the Texas offense honestly did not look that good.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, averaged 1.7 yards of carry and zero passing touchdowns for Arch Manning, a guy that's supposed to be this huge NFL prospect.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: It just didn't look that good.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: But they still like they still sweeped out with the win.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: So I mean, you should take that as a W.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: You didn't look good, but you still got the W against the Raid's opponent on the road.
- 4:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you got on the road.
- 4:26SPEAKER_05: That's the biggest key right there, Faye.
- 4:28SPEAKER_05: That's what I was just going to touch on is Knoxville, Nealand Stadium.
- 4:33SPEAKER_05: That's a really top really, really tough place to play, to say the least.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: And when you can go in there and get a win no matter who you are, that's a big deal, especially with Tennessee being ranked inside the top 15.
- 4:44SPEAKER_05: Couple more games I want to talk about from week four.
- 4:47SPEAKER_05: Let's dive into Ole Miss in Florida.
- 4:49SPEAKER_05: The John Sumra era is here in Gainesville, gentlemen.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: 52 points on the number four ranked team in the country.
- 4:57SPEAKER_05: Are you kidding me?
- 4:59SPEAKER_05: Jaden Baugh, probably one of the best running backs in the country at this point.
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: Aaron Philo, the Florida quarterback, was wheeling and dealing the entire game.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: And I mean, where has this Florida team been?
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: They looked really good.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: They looked really good.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And again, we talked about it in the last episode with the spread and coming into Gainesville.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: We thought it was gonna be a lot closer of a game, and I personally had Ole Miss winning that game, but did not expect for the score to end up the way it did.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: I think that just shows like how far Florida's coming as a program where we kind of see it being one of those top programs of the country once again, and excited to see the Gators the rest of the season for sure.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Um I think it speaks volumes of Florida's run game.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: They just controlled every aspect of the game.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: I think it's fair to say that they're a top five run running team in the in the country.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Maybe even I mean with the what they did this week, probably the best.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Um I think also some I think I know we talked about it last week, a little bit of emotional um what's the one looking for?
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: It like emotional debrief, I guess, for Ole Miss after a big win against LSU.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: And I I think it kind of showed didn't come out as fiery as it did in the LSU game, and I think that kind of cost them.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Ole Miss definitely came out flat and it got absolutely dominated in the trenches.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, Florida had 300 rushing yards.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: And from a team that's not like they're not primarily known to have a great run offense, I guess.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, now they are.
- 6:23SPEAKER_05: Yeah, not recently.
- 6:24SPEAKER_05: They haven't had the best rushing game in recent years, but that was with Billy Napier as head coach, and they had some rough seasons with Billy Napier.
- 6:31SPEAKER_05: But now with John Sumral, they've got that offense working.
- 6:34SPEAKER_05: Like I mentioned, Jaden Baugh, an extremely talented running back, and you mentioned 300 rushing yards as a team.
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: Jaden Baugh accounted for about half of those at 142, but that just shows how much talent they've got in the backfield with the running back depth, and Aaron Philo was able to run it a little bit as well.
- 6:49SPEAKER_05: So let's jump into two more games here.
- 6:53SPEAKER_05: I've got two more that I want to look at.
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: Actually, three more games I want to look at.
- 6:56SPEAKER_05: Let's go Oregon USC first.
- 6:59SPEAKER_05: 41-27 win for the Ducks on the road.
- 7:02SPEAKER_05: Huge bounce back after their rough start to the season, even though they started two and one with that loss to Oklahoma State.
- 7:07SPEAKER_05: That was a huge ranked win on the road against a quality USC opponent without Dante Moore for most of it.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, big injury there.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Praise up to that guy and his family with that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's just a disgusting hit.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: And we kind of talked about it, you know, beforehand.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I think the reaction after the hit was kind of showed the intent behind it, not necessarily the hit himself, because again, it's high-level football.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's hard to slow down those plays, but that was an unfortunate scene.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: But happy to see the Ducks win that one after that, especially.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: But big big bounce back week for them.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And I think this this speaks to why you go out and get a a backup that has experience playing football.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, Dylan Royale is a five-star, and he stepped stepped in that offense and it didn't miss a beat.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, it might even look better than what it did before.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, I mean, uh Dante Moore went out.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Was it first drive?
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: I didn't watch uh the injury.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I think it might have been like second, second quarter, maybe before halftime.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, either way, I mean that offense did not miss a beat, and um but I think the big story here is obviously the hit.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: The player has been suspended this week.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Um it was just kind of it was it was a bad look with the aftermath of the reaction, the USC sideline.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: So I think a suspension was definitely warranted there.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's so that's what I was saying with it.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: I think that like you take a look at the hit itself and you don't see that kind of reaction in that celebration.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I don't think you suspend the player there because that's just a bang bang play.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Any D1 college football player, I mean, I was talking at physical therapy the other day.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: They they can pull up on that.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: Like there was malicious attempt behind it just by the celebration and things like that, and I think that was just a a disgusting act, and I think the USC uh coaching staff will have that handled pretty soon because they're a pretty reparable program.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I honestly feel like this Oregon team's really good at facing adversity just in previous years too.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: And Dan Landing's a really good coach, especially I remember that Colorado game, he gave that huge speech, and then he went out and blown them out of the water.
- 9:01SPEAKER_05: They were up 35-0 or something like that at halftime.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: And yeah, and then you'd go on the road against a good USC team and just smack them right in the face, especially after Dante Moore uh went out with that injury.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: And yeah, I just really like this team a lot, and just you want to see what happens going forward.
- 9:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, just really quick, huge props to Dylan Royola.
- 9:20SPEAKER_05: You you boys mentioned it a couple times.
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: Coming in cold, had about two and a half quarters of football to play, threw for almost 300 yards, led Oregon to 41 points offensively.
- 9:32SPEAKER_05: That's an impressive performance.
- 9:34SPEAKER_05: And Peyton, you mentioned it, experience.
- 9:36SPEAKER_05: He has two years starting experience at Nebraska.
- 9:38SPEAKER_05: Oregon gets out, goes out and gets him as their backup.
- 9:41SPEAKER_05: That's why they brought him in for situations like that.
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: If Dante Moore goes down, they have a guy that's reliable that can step up and they can trust in those big situations, and he got a big W in conference on the road.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that was a pretty questionable decision, even though when he did transfer, you're saying that you were coming from a starting job at Nebraska and going to a program like Oregon to go be the second string quarterback.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: But I think that maybe kind of speaks on like we see that development in quarterbacks in the NFL as well.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Hopefully we continue to see that development with with Royola and college quarterbacks in general with that.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I think it kind of speaks on Dan Lanning's development um for these quarterbacks.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Dante Moore could have been gone last year.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: He could have, I mean, he would have been probably the second overall pick, and he chose to come back because he thought that he could actually develop at this school.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: So I think it speaks to what Oregon is doing over there.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and he did a he did a great job at Alabama during his time there at Alabama as well, with just being, I'm not sure if it was offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach or anything like that, but he worked under Nick Saban during that era, got that Oregon coaching job.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: I think that just speaks to him as a coach, just big player coach guy as well.
- 10:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Oregon's always going to be a threat in the Big Ten.
- 10:48SPEAKER_05: So let's stay within the Big Ten.
- 10:51SPEAKER_05: Michigan and Iowa.
- 10:52SPEAKER_05: What a game, fellas.
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: Even as a Michigan fan myself, Peyton, I know you were not too happy with the result either.
- 11:00SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was still a phenomenal game, and Iowa comes out on top on the final play.
- 11:05SPEAKER_05: About an 18-yard touchdown pass from their quarterback to, I think it was Reese Vanderzee in the end zone in the corner.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: Iowa wins 20 to 19 as time expires.
- 11:17SPEAKER_05: What a ballgame.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I said it with my prediction, but undisciplined football.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: Undisciplined football.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: You called it.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: That was the name of the game there.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And honestly, Bryce Underwood did show out.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Let's say, let's get that out the way right now.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: He did show out.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: That was not Bryce Underwood's fault at all.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, he had his probably best game of his career that game.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: It was.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: It was his best passing game of his career.
- 11:37SPEAKER_05: 276 yards, a couple touchdowns.
- 11:38SPEAKER_05: He did throw a pick, but other than that, he took care of the ball really well.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: He did it, he did a good job, so you can't put that loss on him.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: But I put again, put that loss completely on undisciplined football with that.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: And that's just what you get when you have a new coaching staff coming into a culture like Michigan, right?
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: You know, you think about the Wolverines, they've been around for a while, they're used to winning.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Hail to the victors, right?
- 11:56SPEAKER_05: Yes, sir.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: But that's just what happens.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: And they just got to continue to go and develop that culture again under a new head coach and you know, kind of get this coaching carousel out of it with uh with the Howard incident and whatnot with that.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: I don't have any words to describe how I felt.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: I didn't unfortunately I didn't get to watch the first let's still say half plus of the game live.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: I went back and watched it.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: The amount of times on defense we get stops and we do something stupid, something that's not necessary.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think it was was it Zeke Berry at the end that had the necessary?
- 12:32SPEAKER_05: It was either Zeke Barry or Jair Hill.
- 12:34SPEAKER_05: It was one of the veterans, which really irks me.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: If you're a if you have multiple years playing for the University of Michigan, you know why we are a good team.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: We typically run the ball, we typically play clean, and every aspect of that game was dominated by Michigan.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: There wasn't there isn't one stat category that you could bring up that we lost and accept penalties.
- 12:55SPEAKER_05: Michigan had over, I think, over 200 total yards more than Iowa's offense, and they still lost the game.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: I want to say they control the ball for 15 more minutes in Iowa.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: The only reason the Iowa's offense was doing nothing that whole entire game.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: They scored on somebody not staying in the lane on a kick return, and they scored on a fourth and thirteen.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: It's fourth and fourteen, and you're gonna go hit somebody for no reason and give them a first down to give them a chance to go in the game.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: The only thing you cannot do against Iowa is let them hang in there and give them a chance.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: For years, they they survive on teams not not being themselves and teams letting them stay in the game.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: And we had a chance to close it out and just I mean, just stupid.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: It's just stupid.
- 13:38SPEAKER_05: I mean, people say justice for Western Michigan and whatnot, but whether or not it was justice for Western Michigan, Michigan needed to lose.
- 13:48SPEAKER_05: They needed to lose at some point, and if they have any aspirations of making the playoffs, because I know that was their big goal this year, was make the college football playoff in that 12-team format.
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: That was their big goal.
- 13:59SPEAKER_05: Go at least 10-2, get yourself a playoff spot.
- 14:02SPEAKER_05: Obviously beat Ohio State, but if they they needed to lose and they got it out of the way early in their conference opener, now they've got some real adjustments needed to make.
- 14:11SPEAKER_05: Now they've got a loss in the loss column.
- 14:13SPEAKER_05: They've really got to lock it in next week against Minnesota.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, when you say that, I think about Ohio State and their national championship run as well, right?
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: You lose to a subpar Michigan team at that point, they're in Ohio State's national championship run, and that kind of flipped the switch for them.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: So hopefully we see that with the Wolverines as well coming into you know the thick of conference play.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Playing Indiana soon, playing Ohio State soon, playing Oregon.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Those games are tough games to go in, and hopefully they pull it out.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, I thought they wouldn't have flipped that switch after week one after that embarrassing game.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: You'd think so, but not quite.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it just the penalties keep happening, just it just just didn't look they don't look good.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: They simply do not look good right now, honestly.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, they gotta turn some things up here, obviously.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: I I disagree with that.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: I think that they looked fine offensively, and I think they look good defensively.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Like they're all right.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: They always look good.
- 15:01SPEAKER_05: They've looked good, like one of the best units in the country, no doubt.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: 100% discipline, one of the best recruiting classes at I mean, that's just what Michigan is.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: It's just teaching discipline.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: And again, it comes, it comes from the top and trickles down to the players.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's what it's about.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: So hopefully that coaching staff can make an adjustment there.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Bryce underwood through for 300 yards against one of the best defenses in the country.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, we lose the game by not trusting him.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, we had to get one first down.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, third third and five, and they don't put the ball in his hands.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: That play call definitely baffled me as well.
- 15:33SPEAKER_05: Third and five on Michigan's final offensive drive of the game.
- 15:36SPEAKER_05: They get the first down.
- 15:37SPEAKER_05: The game is probably gonna be over.
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 15:40SPEAKER_05: And then they run the ball up the middle on a third and five against a tough Iowa front seven when you haven't ran the ball well all game.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: That made no sense to me.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Scared to lose, not looking to win sometimes.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: That's how it seems like those play calls have been.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Again, we talked about the transition in Michigan's offense, right?
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Had they haven't been running it, right?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: They've been kind of relying on the RPO, a little bit more spread.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: If that's what your game plan is going into it, stick to it and don't, you know, deviate from it.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: So that was upside to see, but I think the Wolverines hopefully pull one out.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll talk about that in a bit.
- 16:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we'll touch on that in a little bit.
- 16:12SPEAKER_05: Last game I want to touch on just super quickly, stay within the state.
- 16:16SPEAKER_05: Michigan State got rolled by Nebraska at Spartan Stadium, and their conference opener, 31 to 13 was the final.
- 16:23SPEAKER_05: And oh man, the injury bug is biting the Spartans real bad.
- 16:27SPEAKER_05: Best linebacker, best defensive player overall.
- 16:29SPEAKER_05: Jordan Hall got bit by the bug again.
- 16:31SPEAKER_05: He's getting real banged up.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: He was out for most of that game, and then the big one.
- 16:35SPEAKER_05: Cam Edwards is out for the rest of the year, fellas.
- 16:38SPEAKER_05: The running back for the Spartans and probably the heart of that offense, done for the year.
- 16:44SPEAKER_05: Big loss.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: This is kind of disappointing.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was obvious state was making some big strides, and it was I mean, the only word I have on it is disappointing.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: I we expect we expect it to be a lot closer game.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: You know, Nebraska has been good this year.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Um they are undefeated.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: They are undefeated, and it's just disappointing that they I mean kind of lost competitiveness in that game.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, MSU's had a rough go at it since uh the the passage of the Dantoni era.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Obviously we had that one good year with Mel Tucker, but it didn't really last.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: But uh Yeah, it's disappointing to see as as my dad's MSU alone, so I root for Sparty when I can, but um very difficult.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Tough pill to swallow, and hopefully that uh, you know, they can streak some good games together the rest of the year and you know have a proud season to accomplish.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: But at this point in time, losing two-star players, it it's hard to be excited about the team.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean they honestly just got bullied at home.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's not much to say about it.
- 17:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Nebraska dominated that game pretty much from start to finish.
- 17:50SPEAKER_05: And with that, let's move on to the NFL super quick, just go over a couple of games.
- 17:54SPEAKER_05: This has been a weird NFL season, but let's weird first three weeks.
- 17:59SPEAKER_05: Let's start with the Lions, though.
- 18:01SPEAKER_05: Their secondary is still atrocious, but they did come out with a win against a Jets team that's proven to be really pesky so far this year.
- 18:09SPEAKER_05: They'd come out with a W 31-24, squeak it out.
- 18:12SPEAKER_05: That offense looking as efficient as ever.
- 18:14SPEAKER_05: Jared Goff getting it done.
- 18:16SPEAKER_05: Jameer Gibbs is Jameer Gibbs.
- 18:18SPEAKER_05: Just the defense is such a concern.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and especially after uh, I believe it might have been this morning early that Porter got traded to the Cowboys.
- 18:30SPEAKER_05: Got traded to Dallas.
- 18:30SPEAKER_05: Detroit lost out on that market, so that's a big one.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: That's a big, big loss.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Where I know we were targeting him, but again, secondary's just gonna have to play again.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: That's just what it comes down to in games.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: We know the offense is high powered.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Um the Jets, though.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, are we starting to see a turnaround in New York with the Jets or in under Aaron Glenn, or is this just kind of a fluke going on because they've looked pretty solid?
- 18:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, even with the one and two record, they lost to the Packers in overtime, which that was a really close game.
- 19:00SPEAKER_05: They took the Lions to the wire.
- 19:03SPEAKER_05: It came down to a strip sack forced by Chuck Clark on the Jets final drive for the Lions to win that game.
- 19:10SPEAKER_05: I mean, who would have thought the secondary made the game-winning play?
- 19:12SPEAKER_05: I thought that initially that was my thought when that happened.
- 19:15SPEAKER_05: But um, yeah, the Jets have been really pesky.
- 19:17SPEAKER_05: Geno Smith threw for over 300 yards.
- 19:19SPEAKER_05: Garrett Wilson has proven to be a weapon.
- 19:21SPEAKER_05: They've got Kenyon Sadiq.
- 19:23SPEAKER_05: What the heck?
- 19:24SPEAKER_05: He came from nowhere.
- 19:25SPEAKER_05: He's a rookie this year, and he's been a phenomenal weapon in the passing game for the Jets at the tight end spot.
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: And Brees Hall, obviously, even though he went out early with an injury, has been effective in the run game as well.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Here's what I'll say about the Lions defense.
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: This is what they have three games in.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I don't know if they've contained a tight end yet in the receiving.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: I don't think they have either.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, it doesn't matter who like if you have a if you're playing if your tight end is playing the Lions advanced, you better start them.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: That's all I'm gonna say.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Because they can they can I mean I don't know if it's a linebackers covering, I don't know if it's a scheme, but something has to something has to turn over there because there's no production of our defense covering tight ends.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: I think that sometimes you run zones in the wrong wrong time, and then we run man at the wrong time.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: And I've just not been impressed with our defensive coordinator the last couple of years, and I think that's showing, but hopefully they uh figure it out defensively and we can have a good year and look forward to watching some games here.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Faye, you got anything to add?
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Just truly missing Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph.
- 20:28SPEAKER_05: No question about it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, Brian Branch will make his return eventually, hopefully through about the midpoint of the season, I think is the target for Brian Branch, but Kirby Joseph, nobody knows if he's ever gonna play football again.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the degenerative changes within his knee is what they're saying.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: It sounds like it's like a like a traumatic like osteoarthritis case.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: And I mean, from obviously having that background, I don't think he's gonna go play again.
- 20:52SPEAKER_05: Which really hurts because his last full season in Detroit, he led the NFL in interceptions with nine, and then Brian Branch was right behind him with eight.
- 20:59SPEAKER_05: So that was when the Lions had a lethal safety safety tandem in the secondary.
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: Now they've got nothing.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, we have to it has to be addressed.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: I I was so confident we were going to get Joey Porter Jr.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: We have to get somebody.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Like just somebody to help out.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Every it seems like every game another guy goes out in the secondary.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Um I also wanted to point out on the offensive side of the ball, some new faces kind of taken charge.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Isaac Tesla was the leading receiver in that game for Detroit.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Um and J-Mo kind of got going.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: It it's good to see Um our offense still producing even the Iman Ross St.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: Brown kind of quiet game, four catches for 19 yards and a touchdown.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: But it's good to see some production from the other guys at the top.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so that's what you kind of see with the Chicago Bears, too.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: And uh we'll touch on it, but the Bears offense, you've got they game plan and target for one guy at a time, right?
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: They game plan for one, and you see a couple other guys pop off that game.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: If you continue to see that for Detroit, it's gonna be a really hard offense to stop, and that's how we're gonna win games, unfortunately.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, at this point in time, I don't think we can win a ballgame if we put up 17 points.
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: It's going to have to be shootout, shootout, shootout, and it's going to be points, points, points for the Lions if they're going to win.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: So let's stick within the NFC North.
- 22:12SPEAKER_05: Thursday night football.
- 22:14SPEAKER_05: Good lord, guys.
- 22:15SPEAKER_05: Case Keenum.
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: The Packers got destroyed.
- 22:19SPEAKER_05: We'll touch on Case Keenum in a little bit with the Bears.
- 22:21SPEAKER_05: But man, the Packers got rolled by the Falcons at Lambeau.
- 22:26SPEAKER_05: Michael Penix makes his first start of the year, and 35-14, the Falcons get their first W of the season.
- 22:32SPEAKER_05: B.
- 22:32SPEAKER_05: John Robinson went off.
- 22:34SPEAKER_05: Drake London went off.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: Falcons were clicking on Thursday night.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, testament also to Michael Pennyx coming back and making an instant, an instant, uh, getting instant feedback there.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: I think it was the quarterback situation in Atlanta how it looked so bad.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: I kind of thought they would come compete in that conference in that division.
- 22:51SPEAKER_03: It's the worst division in football.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're if they play their offenses like that, they'll compete in that division.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: But I talked about it last week a little bit.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: The Green Bay Packers, man, they're not doing anything right.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Like no part of their game has looked typical to Green Bay fashion.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I completely agree.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: And I mean, Penix isn't starting next week.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, Tua is coming back in.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: He's he's taking over the role coming up soon.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Is it next week or maybe a couple weeks?
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: I thought Penix was a starter full time.
- 23:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't think if they put Tua under center for after what Penix just did with Bijan and Drake London giving them each 200 yards respectively in their categories.
- 23:27SPEAKER_05: If they put Penix on the bench after that kind of a performance, I don't know what the Falcons are doing.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I said, I mean it might have been like a a meme page that I I misread, but but I mean, yeah, Falcons look good.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Flat out, they look good.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Drake London looked great.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: It's good to have him in fantasy that week.
- 23:47SPEAKER_05: Oh, I bet.
- 23:48SPEAKER_05: But um Bijan lovers challenge.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Yep, Bijan looked amazing too.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: So hopefully they can continue to continue to do what they're doing.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: I think it also helped out their defense immensely.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Not, I mean, just going three and out, three and out.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: They looked a lot more refreshed and able to actually create stops against Green Bay.
- 24:03SPEAKER_05: That's complimentary football at its finest, right?
- 24:05SPEAKER_05: They're great offense and then great defense.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: That's why the scoreboard looked like the way it did.
- 24:09SPEAKER_05: Fehi, anything to add?
- 24:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean the Patriots truly looked awful.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, honestly.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: I never thought I would say that, but they the O-line is atrocious right now.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the O-line cannot pass protect for Jordan Love.
- 24:20SPEAKER_05: And even with no pass protection, Jordan Love putting the colours.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: It's hard when you don't have the run game anymore either.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, you lose Josh Jacobs from uh he's out for a while.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, commissioner's exempless.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: So you lose a run game where you have a good athlete like like Josh Jacobs running the ball.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: You you don't really have to game plan for both anymore.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: So I mean, I'm not putting a loop I'm not putting a game in Jordan Love's hands ever.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: But that's what we're seeing right now.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: Jane Reed's also um done for the rest of the season, too.
- 24:51SPEAKER_05: Yep, just announced that.
- 24:52SPEAKER_05: Jaden Reed's done for the year.
- 24:54SPEAKER_05: And let's stick within the NFC North.
- 24:56SPEAKER_05: We'll highlight a couple primetime games from last week and then two upsets that I really want to talk about.
- 25:01SPEAKER_05: Let's start with the primetime games.
- 25:03SPEAKER_05: Monday night football.
- 25:04SPEAKER_05: We'll talk about Case Keenum now.
- 25:05SPEAKER_06: Case Keenum.
- 25:06SPEAKER_05: The Bears, 27-7 over the Eagles, handing the Eagles their first loss of the year.
- 25:11SPEAKER_05: Man, Case Keenum, what was it?
- 25:13SPEAKER_05: Something over a thousand days since his last NFL start.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, good for him.
- 25:17SPEAKER_05: He dominated 247 passing yards.
- 25:20SPEAKER_05: He had himself a rushing touchdown.
- 25:22SPEAKER_05: What a football game the Bears played.
- 25:24SPEAKER_05: And just real quick, how about that defense that the Bears had?
- 25:28SPEAKER_05: Holding the Eagles to seven points?
- 25:30SPEAKER_05: What?
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, it sucked that that Jalen Hurts went out for one play, and Andy Dalton came in and threw an interception.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Doesn't help.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: But no, I mean, I think the Eagles offense just like was not efficient in scoring.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Like they put up decent yards overall, but just not couldn't finish drive.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: That one score of that, you know, touch-push, goal line, goal line score for Hertz.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: But how they do it.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: But I mean, other than that, it was a um kind of a snooze fest offensively for the Eagles.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And again, we think Eagles having a better defense.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: I think that just shows once again we talked about it a little bit, but game planning for multiple weapons on offense is difficult, especially when Ben Johnson's your head coach.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And I think that showed showed pretty well.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Just better coaching, better team overall from the Bears there.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: I kinda have two talking points in this game, one for each team.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Um, I'll start with the Eagles.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: This is year two now, the Eagles cannot establish a run game.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: Um they have Saquon Barkley in the backfield, so what's going on?
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: And Saquon Barkley in the first half, he had a great first half.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: He had 75 yards rushing in the first half.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: And for a split second, I was like, okay, like they're they're getting something going.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: The O line's finally firing, and then the key comes out and gets three yards rushing in the second half.
- 26:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that killed that kills me because I have him in fantasy.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: And I mean their offense cannot just generate first downs.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: They just can't.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: It seems like they're they're going for they're they're trying to hit shot plays or they're not getting first downs.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: They cannot find a way to keep drives going consistently.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Um other side with the Bears, I mean, Case Keenum, he just controlled the game so well.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: He got the ball out quick, and when you have somebody who hasn't played in a thousand days or whatever it was, that's what you have to do against a good defense.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: You have to give them quick, easy throws, and he hit those throws more times than he didn't, and that's all they needed to do.
- 27:19SPEAKER_05: Did his job.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: You want to know the last time Case Keenum started a game before that?
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, when was it exactly?
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Christmas Eve of 2023.
- 27:26SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh, it's been almost three years.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: He threw two pits and zero touchdowns.
- 27:31SPEAKER_05: Well, how about a bounce back game then?
- 27:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: First game in almost three years.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, the Eagles look terrible on both sides of the ball, but Case Tenum actually looks really good.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: And I don't know how.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Give him his props, I guess, but legacy game right there.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: That was his Super Bowl.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: And Ben Johnson has experience with not mobile quarterbacks.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Very true.
- 27:49SPEAKER_05: Hey, no hate on Jared Goff.
- 27:51SPEAKER_05: He's still yet to throw an interception, and he's been really good so far for the first three games.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think Ben Johnson sent him a text message about no shade, so that's how you know it was low-key directed at shot at him in a press conference.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: This could be really sweet when we beat the Bears here coming down.
- 28:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Johnson has still yet to beat the Lions knock on wood.
- 28:10SPEAKER_05: So we'll see what happens when we get there.
- 28:12SPEAKER_05: Thank you, Faye.
- 28:14SPEAKER_05: Alright, other primetime game, Sunday Night Football.
- 28:16SPEAKER_05: The Rams and the Broncos.
- 28:18SPEAKER_05: This one was a shootout.
- 28:19SPEAKER_05: This is a great football game.
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: Matthew Stafford threw for almost 400 yards, but it was a loss.
- 28:24SPEAKER_05: The Denver Broncos came out on top 30 to 26 with a failed Hail Mary by the Rams on the final play of the game.
- 28:31SPEAKER_05: Denver, huge bounce back W after a huge bounce back, two wins actually.
- 28:35SPEAKER_05: They beat the Jaguars last week, and they beat the Rams this week after getting dominated by the Chiefs on opening night.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: If the Broncos showed up to play first half football in their games, they would be, I mean, just dominant every single week.
- 28:49SPEAKER_05: Gotta play four good quarters, not just two.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know how they keep getting away with it.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Every single game, they don't show up to the second half, and they they squeak out a win every single week.
- 28:59SPEAKER_05: So they scored all 30 of their points in the second half, right?
- 29:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I mean it's not like the Rams to give up that kind of lead.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: You'd think that their offense could put uh drives together to to I mean finish that one out, but they they haven't really been firing all cylinders this year like how we thought they were.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: They were Super Bowl favorites coming in, and now they're sitting at one and two in a good division.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: So they have they have some work to do.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I had the Broncos winning last week, and uh they win.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: So I do like Sean Payton a lot.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: I think that just speaks to him as a coach too, like making that halftime adjustment with that as well.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I mean I like to see Blake Coram kind of get more touches there.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, Kyron Williams had a great game, but I mean six carries for 15 yards.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: We th we came in there thinking that he would have kind of a bigger impact than he did overall.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: But again, we talk about the Rams defense of it being one of the best defensive, you know, units in the NFL and giving up 30 points to the Broncos is not ideal for them.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: So they gotta figure it out if they're gonna make a splash in the playoffs like we thought they were going to preseason.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean honestly, I mean the Broncos all last year came back in the fourth quarter.
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: That was their ML was comeback.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't think they had a single true blowout win last year.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: Like they even like I think it was in London.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: They played the they beat the Jets by like three points, and it was a terrible game to watch.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: And honestly, I feel like that's just their motto is just like win by any means necessary, and they keep doing it.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: And honestly, I mean they almost won last year.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: I think they have a good chance.
- 30:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we talk about we talked about it a couple times already.
- 30:37SPEAKER_05: A win is a win in the NFL, doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you get it done.
- 30:41SPEAKER_05: And the Broncos got it done last week.
- 30:43SPEAKER_05: So after we look at the primetime games, let's look at now a couple big upsets that I want to highlight.
- 30:48SPEAKER_05: This one wasn't huge, but it was still an upset nonetheless.
- 30:52SPEAKER_05: The Browns.
- 30:52SPEAKER_05: They're two-and-one guys.
- 30:54SPEAKER_05: They beat the Panthers 21 to 18 last week.
- 30:57SPEAKER_05: And Deshaun Watson was making plays in that game.
- 31:00SPEAKER_05: That's the first time I think we've seen good Deshaun Watson football in Cleveland.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for my sake, I hope he uh continues to play some good football tonight.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: But uh I mean, I mean, the Browns are looking good.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: It'd be cool to see them upset the Steelers tonight.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: I I despise the Steelers for just some odd reason.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: I don't like the Pittsburgh Steelers at all, and I like the Cleveland Browns more.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: But I mean, at the beginning of the season, we thought this was gonna be by far the worst team in the NFL.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, I mean them or Miami.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: Yep, them or Miami, or you can throw Tennessee in there too.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: But surprising.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: Surprising nonetheless.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, we thought the Panthers were actually kind of making that stride too.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: It is only what week three, week four of the NFL.
- 31:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was week three.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: Week three of the NFL, so there's a lot of a lot of football left to be played here, but surprising nonetheless.
- 31:52SPEAKER_05: No question about it.
- 31:52SPEAKER_05: But Todd Munkin, new head coach in Cleveland, he's doing something right.
- 31:56SPEAKER_05: They won back-to-back games over the Panthers last week.
- 32:01SPEAKER_05: They're doing something right over there in Cleveland.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Here's what I'll say about the Browns.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: The Browns sit at two and one.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously, this is the best Browns team we've seen in a couple years.
- 32:11SPEAKER_01: So I think I think, you know, I'm I'm not a huge believer in the playoff of the Cleveland Browns per se.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Playoffs?
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I no no nobody's really thinking it, but like I just want to throw it out there.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: They've played two teams in the in the NFC South.
- 32:25SPEAKER_01: They they beat the Buccaneers and Baker has been playing really bad football in the in the Carolina Panthers.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: We know those teams don't finish over 500 very often.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: So um I'm curious to see how they played tonight against uh proven uh Pittsburgh Steelers team.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: They played some pretty good games, I feel like, this uh start of the year.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: So we'll see what happens.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: It's just a perfect chance to start over 500 and become two and one for the Panthers, and they just kind of just blew it, honestly.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: Like straight up.
- 32:55SPEAKER_02: So then you're just gonna live in poverty that the NFC South is win at 8-9 in the division and lose the your first home game against the Rams again or something.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: It just didn't look I don't even know.
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: Disappointing.
- 33:09SPEAKER_05: Well, like you mentioned, NFC South, not great.
- 33:13SPEAKER_05: Even though the Panthers have a horrible start to the season so far.
- 33:16SPEAKER_05: They'll probably find a way to at least make a make a run for the lead in the division.
- 33:21SPEAKER_05: I mean, 0-3 Buccaneers could win the division for all we know.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: I'll give it to the Saints.
- 33:26SPEAKER_05: I mean, I think the Saints are gonna win it too, but that's another conversation for another day.
- 33:30SPEAKER_05: Last game from week three of the NFL, then we'll get into pick'ums for the next week of football.
- 33:36SPEAKER_05: The Commanders upset the reigning Super Bowl champion, Seattle Seahawks, 33-31 without Jaden Daniels.
- 33:44SPEAKER_05: Marcus Mariota was handling that offense extremely well for Washington, and they end up upsetting the Seahawks with only 36 rushing yards being the leading rusher for that entire game.
- 33:56SPEAKER_05: Jacori Krosky Merritt led the game with rushing yards at 36.
- 34:01SPEAKER_05: That was just air it out football.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: That dude sucks at football, bro.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: Honestly.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: Air it out.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: I picked him up last year.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: He did absolutely nothing.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: This Washington running game is non-existent.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: And the fact that Marcus Mariota carried his team to a win against the Seahawks.
- 34:18SPEAKER_05: Says something, though.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, keep doing your thing, man.
- 34:20SPEAKER_05: Hey, any given Sunday, man.
- 34:22SPEAKER_05: Any given Sunday.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, the Seahawks had to lose eventually, right?
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, they've been hot since on like midseason last year.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: They had a really good run.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: Um, but Marcus Mariota, again, is a proven quarterback, proven backup quarterback, I should say.
- 34:36SPEAKER_05: He's got some starting experience too.
- 34:37SPEAKER_05: He started his career in Tennessee as a starter.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's an Isen winner.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: Like I thought like he the talent's there.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Um and even last year, I think the commanders offense looked better with Mariota than they did with Jaden Daniels.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: So that's a whole discussion for a different day.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: But I mean, Marcus Mariota is gonna make this commander's team stay in a lot of ball games.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I think Mariota just like under center has been really proven backup for you know Washington.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: They played good with him under center, and again, like I do think Jaden Daniels is a good quarterback in the NFL.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: I think he's had kind of an unlucky streak as of recently.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, we think about that rookie year, but I I did not expect the commanders to pull this one out, and I think that's just props to, you know, the entire unit there offensively.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Just a good game offensively overall for both teams, and probably a little poor game defensively.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there was no defense in that game whatsoever, it felt like.
- 35:31SPEAKER_05: I mean, sixty-four combined points in an NFL game is a lot, so that's pretty much no defense in that game.
- 35:37SPEAKER_05: But yeah, great performance from Marcus Mariota from the Commanders as a whole.
- 35:42SPEAKER_05: Both passing games really just lit up the field in that one, and Commanders come out with a huge upset.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: I also want to point out real quick that Emerald City Route Artist is just on a tear.
- 35:52SPEAKER_05: Oh, geez.
- 35:52SPEAKER_05: JSN is on a tear.
- 35:54SPEAKER_05: I mean 128 receiving yards in that game.
- 35:57SPEAKER_05: I wonder about Drew Locke's game plan.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Remember a couple years ago, it's throwing up to Jamar's up there somewhere, man.
- 36:04SPEAKER_05: It's getting well, JSN's down there somewhere, guys.
- 36:07SPEAKER_05: Throw it to him.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: Glad he's from MSU, man.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: Glad to see him succeed in the NFL.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: He's an absolute dog.
- 36:13SPEAKER_05: You know Jackson Smith and Jigma's from Ohio State, right?
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: No.
- 36:18SPEAKER_05: Oh, Faye.
- 36:20SPEAKER_05: No, Faye.
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: Man, I man, I ruined the fun.
- 36:27SPEAKER_02: Not for yeah, I mean, that's a wide receiver.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: You read the.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: Wide receiver you.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, man.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: As an experienced fan myself, I am super sorry for that mid-sump.
- 36:40SPEAKER_05: It's all good, man.
- 36:42SPEAKER_05: Alright, on that note, let's go into college football.
- 36:46SPEAKER_05: We brought up Ohio State, so let's go into next week with college football.
- 36:49SPEAKER_05: It's week five.
- 36:50SPEAKER_05: Man, it's already flying by, man.
- 36:52SPEAKER_05: It's already almost a halfway point of the college football season.
- 36:54SPEAKER_05: Feels like we just started yesterday.
- 36:56SPEAKER_05: We're already in week five.
- 36:58SPEAKER_05: So let's jump right into it.
- 36:59SPEAKER_05: First ranked game of the week.
- 37:02SPEAKER_05: This one could be interesting.
- 37:04SPEAKER_05: Number three Notre Dame fighting Irish going on the road to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels.
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: That's at noon in Chapel Hill.
- 37:11SPEAKER_05: Who do we got in this one?
- 37:12SPEAKER_05: Notre Dame savored by 21.
- 37:14SPEAKER_05: Should be an easy win for the Irish, but you never know.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, I just hate Notre Dame, so I wanna pick UNC.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: Join a conference.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna keep saying that every week, but yeah, I mean, Notre Dame's gonna go win this one.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: CJ Carr is playing out of his mind still.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: I mean Yeah, CJ Carr is pretty much too good.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:35SPEAKER_01: We've seen, I mean, we've seen Notre Dame play some bad halves of football.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, usually like against Michigan State, they didn't play great half football the first half, and uh North Carolina can run the ball a little bit, but I just think CJ Carr is too much for the North Carolina defense.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm taking Notre Dame.
- 37:50SPEAKER_05: I'm taking Nord Dame.
- 37:52SPEAKER_05: Alright, sweep across the board, no surprise there.
- 37:54SPEAKER_05: This is a team we forgot to highlight in the recap from week four of college football, but Mississippi State and Camario Taylor.
- 38:03SPEAKER_05: That dude might make a Heisman run this year, gentlemen.
- 38:06SPEAKER_05: He's playing Heisman caliber football, but this is his biggest test of the season to date.
- 38:10SPEAKER_05: They host the number seven Alabama Crimson tide on Saturday at noon.
- 38:15SPEAKER_05: That's gonna be a big test.
- 38:17SPEAKER_05: I think that's gonna be an absolute shootout of a football game with two very high-powered offenses.
- 38:22SPEAKER_05: But Alabama being Alabama, I think they're gonna go on the road and get this one done.
- 38:27SPEAKER_05: Keelan Russell, I think, will probably take this game over.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna make a Charles Barkley reference real quick.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: I have two words.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: Camario Taylor must see TV.
- 38:38SPEAKER_01: They're gonna win at home, dude.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: I like I can't pick against this guy.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: This guy's awesome.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: He's amazing.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: I can't pick against him.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: I'm going Mississippi State.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: I'm going Mississippi State as well.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: I just I think they're gonna pull out an upset.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can't tell you the last time Mississippi State's been good at football.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: I'm in Dak Prescott era.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: It's been a very long time since they were good at football.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: And I think that when you have that in college football, you kind of have that like spark of a good team, it's gonna get rowdy.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to Mississippi State, and he's just, again, we talked about Taylor playing all their minds.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: And Nick Saban's scared of this guy.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I heard him last Sunday talk or Saturday.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, talking about, I mean, dude, get that guy on the portal because he wants him at Bama, and there's a reason why you should be scared of him leading this offense.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: Alabama Jones over there.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, Mississippi State's offense is really electric, but Alabama loves playing the villain, honestly.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: They've been the villain of college.
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: Of course.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: They're all the villain of college football for however long now.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: And I think Bama's gonna play spoiler again, give me Bama.
- 39:43SPEAKER_05: Hang on a minute.
- 39:44SPEAKER_05: Can I change my pick real quick?
- 39:47SPEAKER_05: I got I got a pres I got a prescription.
- 39:50SPEAKER_05: More Cowbell.
- 39:52SPEAKER_05: Mississippi State, dude, the energy in that place is gonna be ridiculous.
- 39:57SPEAKER_05: Like you mentioned, not the spark of a good team just brings a stadium to life.
- 40:02SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be rowdy.
- 40:04SPEAKER_05: And yeah, I I initially did pick against Kamario Taylor because it is Alabama, and Keelan Russell's still a really good quarterback in that Crimson Tide offense.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: But I can't pick against him.
- 40:14SPEAKER_05: Mississippi's gonna come away with that upset.
- 40:16SPEAKER_05: I think that'll be a huge one.
- 40:17SPEAKER_02: Did you serve so you changed your pick because I picked Bama?
- 40:21SPEAKER_05: No, I changed my pick because Miss I just, it's so hard for me to pick against Kamario Taylor.
- 40:26SPEAKER_05: I initially did, I just can't, though.
- 40:27SPEAKER_05: Alright, man.
- 40:29SPEAKER_05: You're the lone wolf here, Faye.
- 40:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:32SPEAKER_05: I'll play the villain as well.
- 40:33SPEAKER_05: If you're right, then next week you can flame us all.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: No, I mean it's gonna be a dead game either way, so.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: I don't know, man.
- 40:39SPEAKER_06: Seeing the JS win went to get setting is pretty brutal.
- 40:44SPEAKER_02: I was just trolling.
- 40:47SPEAKER_05: Alright, next game, next couple.
- 40:49SPEAKER_05: We probably shouldn't have too much to talk about here.
- 40:51SPEAKER_05: We got Houston hosting the UCF Knights.
- 40:53SPEAKER_05: I think Houston will probably run away with this one.
- 40:55SPEAKER_05: They're 11 and a half point favorites.
- 40:56SPEAKER_05: I think Houston's gonna win.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: It's not the same US or UCF team we saw from a couple years ago.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: I'm taking Houston.
- 41:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Houston.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Houston.
- 41:05SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 41:05SPEAKER_05: Pretty self-explanatory there.
- 41:07SPEAKER_05: Same thing here.
- 41:07SPEAKER_05: Boston College at number 21 SMU.
- 41:10SPEAKER_05: Boston College is the worst team in the ACC.
- 41:11SPEAKER_05: Kevin Jennings is gonna dominate this game.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: SMU.
- 41:15SPEAKER_02: SMU.
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: SMU.
- 41:17SPEAKER_05: Sweep.
- 41:18SPEAKER_05: Alright, not a ranked game, but more of a local game.
- 41:21SPEAKER_05: Wolverines talked about him earlier.
- 41:23SPEAKER_05: Going on the road to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
- 41:27SPEAKER_05: Michigan opens only as a five and a half point favor.
- 41:29SPEAKER_05: This is a pesky Minnesota team coming off a big W last week, by the way, against Washington on the road.
- 41:35SPEAKER_05: Michigan's gotta have a huge bounce back win here, but it's not gonna be easy.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: PJ Flack always gets his team motivated to go and play those big games.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: Row the boat.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: But I just want to say, man, it's been a while since I've enjoyed watching a Michigan football game.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Please, man.
- 41:50SPEAKER_01: Fair enough.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Bryce Underwood, just keep progressing.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: Just keep playing good defense and not do stupid stuff.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Just let me watch the game in peace.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: That's all I want.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: That's all I want this week.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, I feel like Minnesota always gives Michigan a difficult time.
- 42:07SPEAKER_05: Other than 2023, it has been that way.
- 42:10SPEAKER_05: Because 2024 Michigan won by three.
- 42:13SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: That was like, uh, that was I remember that being a pretty low-powered game.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: It was sloppy.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: If you're playing for a trophy, man, it's always gonna be close.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: And I think that uh I do think Michigan's gonna pull it out, but I mean five and a half point favorites.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, Vegas always knows something.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: So I think it's gonna be close.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, close game.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: I kind of want to take the golden Govers just for the storyline.
- 42:36SPEAKER_02: But I will take Michigan here.
- 42:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you're sheep.
- 42:39SPEAKER_05: I mean, I can't pick against my Wolverines.
- 42:41SPEAKER_05: I'm scared for this game, though.
- 42:42SPEAKER_05: It's on big noon Saturday, but I again I'm scared for my Wolverines.
- 42:47SPEAKER_05: It's their first road game of the season.
- 42:48SPEAKER_05: They haven't looked great, they're coming off a loss.
- 42:50SPEAKER_05: I'll pick 'em, but I don't know.
- 42:53SPEAKER_06: Coin flip.
- 42:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, pretty much it is.
- 42:55SPEAKER_05: It's a coin toss.
- 42:56SPEAKER_05: Next up, Georgia hosting Vanderbilt.
- 42:59SPEAKER_05: Self-explanatory.
- 43:00SPEAKER_05: Bulldogs at home.
- 43:02SPEAKER_05: Win.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:06SPEAKER_05: Nothing else.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm picking Georgia, unfortunately.
- 43:09SPEAKER_05: No Diego Pavia anymore for Vanderbilt.
- 43:11SPEAKER_00: Go dogs.
- 43:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 43:13SPEAKER_05: Georgia.
- 43:14SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 43:15SPEAKER_05: Here's college game day.
- 43:17SPEAKER_05: This is the biggest game of the week right here.
- 43:19SPEAKER_05: Number five Ohio State on the road at number 14 Iowa.
- 43:22SPEAKER_05: Kinnex Stadium is a place where top five teams go to die, gentlemen.
- 43:28SPEAKER_05: I mean, and Iowa's good this year, man.
- 43:30SPEAKER_05: We just saw them get that huge W on the road at Michigan, final play of the game.
- 43:34SPEAKER_05: Talked about that a lot earlier.
- 43:35SPEAKER_05: They're ranked 14th in the country now.
- 43:38SPEAKER_05: They've got something special in Iowa City.
- 43:41SPEAKER_05: But does Ohio State get the W on the road?
- 43:43SPEAKER_05: They already lost a tough road game at Texas.
- 43:45SPEAKER_05: Iowa's still a tough place to play.
- 43:47SPEAKER_05: What do we got?
- 43:48SPEAKER_01: Ohio State's win this game by twenty points.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: I got three words for you.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah Smith must see TV.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: He's gonna hit more Charles Barkley.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: He's gonna dominate.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, if if Michigan's gonna control the game like they did against Iowa, Ohio State's just gonna double that.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: I mean, let's let's be honest.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: Michigan should have won that game by 10 plus points.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Ohio State's with a way more dominant team, they're gonna win by, I think, at least two touchdowns.
- 44:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, they got their loss out of the way.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: I don't think they're gonna lose for a while to meet Ohio State.
- 44:22SPEAKER_05: I want to remind you guys really quick of what happened last time Ohio State went to Kinnex Stadium.
- 44:26SPEAKER_05: This was a while ago.
- 44:27SPEAKER_05: I believe it's 2015 was the last time they went there.
- 44:30SPEAKER_05: Unranked, 5-3 Iowa was hosting 7-1, 6th in the country, Ohio State.
- 44:36SPEAKER_05: Iowa hung 55 on him and beat him by 38 points.
- 44:39SPEAKER_05: They beat him 55 to 17 last time Ohio State was at Kinnix Stadium.
- 44:43SPEAKER_05: I don't think that will happen again this year, but I think this game's gonna be a lot closer than you guys think.
- 44:49SPEAKER_05: Ohio State will probably come out firing.
- 44:51SPEAKER_05: I think they'll have a lead for most of the game.
- 44:54SPEAKER_05: But Iowa is a really, really tough team to beat in Kennick Stadium.
- 44:59SPEAKER_05: And for that reason, I'm picking the Hawkeyes.
- 45:01SPEAKER_05: I think Iowa's gonna come out with the upset over the Bucks this one.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: I have a question for you.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: Shoot.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Do you think Iowa secondary can cover Jeremiah Smith?
- 45:10SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 45:11SPEAKER_05: Because he is their only target.
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: They don't have a wide receiver two.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: They've got four different guys that have filled in that wide receiver two role, and none of them have done it very well.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: Jeremiah Smith is the only reliable weapon they have in that passing game, and Bo Jackson has been average in the Ohio State running game.
- 45:27SPEAKER_05: Julian Saiyan hasn't been phenomenal like we saw last year because he had two guys to throw to last year, Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate.
- 45:34SPEAKER_05: He's only got Jeremiah Smith this year for the most part.
- 45:36SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be a lot closer than you guys think, and I think the Hawkeyes are gonna shock the world again and beat the Buckeyes this week.
- 45:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for one of my buddies' sake, I hope that doesn't happen.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he might, yeah, he might lose his mind.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: But I uh I I would not be surprised if Iowa does pull it out, but I still got OSU.
- 45:56SPEAKER_05: Alright, we got three Buckeyes on the Lone Wolf with riding with Iowa here.
- 45:59SPEAKER_05: Alright, going to the SEC, another game that's going on at the same time at 330.
- 46:03SPEAKER_05: The Florida Gators, who ascended the polls from number 21 to number eight, go on the road to take on number 25 Missouri, coming off a loss on the road to Mississippi State.
- 46:12SPEAKER_05: Florida's offense is high powered.
- 46:14SPEAKER_05: We know how that offense operates.
- 46:16SPEAKER_05: I think Florida's gonna win this game probably by about two possessions at least.
- 46:22SPEAKER_01: I think it's kind of the same situation Ole Miss was in.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: Um you know, you did you'd come off of just a huge, a program changing win.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, that Ole Miss win for Florida was program changing.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Um now the difference is is the run game with Florida.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: Florida has the the back to be able to control the pace of the game.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: Ole Miss was missing their best back against Florida.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: I think the run game's gonna be able to withstand all of the all of the trap, the the trappiness of this game, and I think Florida's gonna win.
- 46:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I completely agree with you, Pan, because I think you think about that, but I think you also gotta think about the quality of opponent versus Ole Miss uh Florida game versus Florida and now Missouri.
- 47:06SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, Missouri's top 25 team.
- 47:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_05: Are they?
- 47:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're 25th.
- 47:13SPEAKER_05: They're 25th, so they're borderline.
- 47:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, exactly.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: So they're they are a ranked opponent, right?
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: But again, not a quality ranked opponent like like Florida was in that scenario.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: And especially playing in the swamp.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: And you know, Missouri Stadium is not the same as playing in the swamp down in Gainesville.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: So I think that Florida's gonna pull it out.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: I do think it's gonna be somewhat close.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 47:34SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's gonna be a three-touch down game or whatnot, but I think that Florida is gonna pull out the dub here.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna bet against him again.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: I made a huge mistake uh last week.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: That was like the main issue.
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: I think that was my only, like one of my only Ron pits, too.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: So yeah, Jimmy Florida.
- 47:50SPEAKER_05: All right, we all pick Florida on that.
- 47:52SPEAKER_05: We all got the Gators.
- 47:54SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 47:54SPEAKER_05: All right, staying in the SEC, Auburn going on the road to Knoxville to play number 17, Tennessee.
- 47:59SPEAKER_05: I think Tennessee gets a big bounce back win.
- 48:01SPEAKER_05: They're staying at home, taking the number one team to the wire last week.
- 48:05SPEAKER_05: They're gonna come out ready to fire against Auburn.
- 48:07SPEAKER_05: I think they're gonna dominate this game from start to finish, even though they're only seven-point favorites.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm really excited to see the Tennessee offense, you know, play again and proved that they have the capability to play against um really play really good football.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: And I think that again, Auburn, we think of, you know, kind of an SEC program that's had their trials and tribulations over the last couple years or so, whatnot.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: But um, I think that you know, Tennessee does pull this one out.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: Rocky Top.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: I'm taking Auburn.
- 48:38SPEAKER_00: Rocky Top.
- 48:39SPEAKER_00: You're taking Auburn.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm taking Auburn.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: They played Florida close, man.
- 48:43SPEAKER_01: Auburn, Auburn played Florida.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's a five-point game.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: That was at Auburn, though.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: It was at Auburn, but also that game took a lot out of Tennessee.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, they I mean they gave it all they had against those guys.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: And I I'm taking Auburn.
- 48:59SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 49:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you're crazy boy.
- 49:01SPEAKER_05: That's an upset pick for this week for sure.
- 49:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I like it.
- 49:04SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna overthink this.
- 49:06SPEAKER_02: Tennessee almost beat the number one team in the country, and now they're playing Auburn at home.
- 49:11SPEAKER_02: Jimmy Tennessee.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all right.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: It's hard to go into that stadium and pull out a win.
- 49:16SPEAKER_00: I think that's just yeah.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: If they were playing away, I think it'd I'd probably lean Auburn, but they're playing at home again.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: I think that's a big, big factor in my decision.
- 49:25SPEAKER_05: All right, so Peyton, you're the you're the lone wolf on this one here.
- 49:28SPEAKER_05: I think all of us have had our lone wolf pick for this week, except you.
- 49:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we'll get there.
- 49:33SPEAKER_05: You're the only one.
- 49:34SPEAKER_05: We'll get there.
- 49:35SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 49:36SPEAKER_05: Number 24, Kentucky, squeaking their way into the rankings for the first time this year, traveling on the road to play the Lenora Sellers in the South Carolina Gamecock.
- 49:43SPEAKER_05: South Carolina actually opens as a three-point favorite in this game at home.
- 49:47SPEAKER_05: This one's a coin toss.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: I think South Carolina is playing without their best defensive player.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: Yes, Dylan Stewart is out for this game.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: I think that's gonna really be a testament to this.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: I just don't think that South Carolina can beat Kentucky without their best player.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: Um and the South Carolina's coach on the hot seat, so this is a really important game for him to win.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: Because if you can go get a range win the SEC, you know, maybe you can change that, but I'm taking Kentucky.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: So I think that South Carolina playing Alabama.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, they lost by quite a few.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna take South Carolina here.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: I just think that that can the Kentucky team again, ranked now.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: They have that big upside against Texas AM, right?
- 50:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, on the road.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: On the road against Texas AM.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: I don't think that they have the capability to pull out those wins.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: Consistently.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly exactly.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: But consistently, yeah, they're now I don't I don't think that they're gonna pull this one out this week.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go with uh South Carolina here.
- 50:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm gonna go with Kentucky, just straight up.
- 50:49SPEAKER_02: Like the Wildcats?
- 50:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:51SPEAKER_02: The Wildcats, man.
- 50:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:52SPEAKER_00: Kentucky's a basketball school.
- 50:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but yeah, yeah, they're ranked for a reason.
- 50:57SPEAKER_02: They actually looked solid.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: And yeah, South Carolina is out, Dalen Stewart, and he's an absolute ads fad to run that South Carolina defense.
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: So give me.
- 51:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he's about all the life that the Gamecocks have on that side of the football.
- 51:08SPEAKER_05: I mean, Lenore Sellers, obviously a quarterback for the Gamecocks, is a playmaker.
- 51:12SPEAKER_05: Playing at Williams Bryce Stadium in South Carolina, not easy.
- 51:16SPEAKER_05: I mean, that place gets rowdy for sure.
- 51:19SPEAKER_05: But I'm gonna go with Kentucky here, too.
- 51:22SPEAKER_05: I think the Wildcats are gonna pull this one out.
- 51:24SPEAKER_05: Even though Nutt, you brought up that you don't think that they could pull off those upset wins on the road consistently.
- 51:30SPEAKER_05: I think they can get this one done against South Carolina.
- 51:32SPEAKER_05: After showing what they did to Texas AM and just ripping them apart, Texas AM is a talented team, and they just ripped them to shreds at Kyle Field.
- 51:40SPEAKER_05: I think they can win this one against South Carolina.
- 51:43SPEAKER_05: And Nutt, you have your lone wolf pick of the day.
- 51:45SPEAKER_05: Everyone's got their lone wolf pick, so you called it.
- 51:48SPEAKER_05: It was coming, and we got it.
- 51:49SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 51:50SPEAKER_05: Big 12 now.
- 51:51SPEAKER_05: 10th rank BYU at TCU.
- 51:54SPEAKER_05: BYU opens at six and a half point favorites.
- 51:56SPEAKER_05: TCU's not an easy place to play, fellas.
- 51:59SPEAKER_05: But I'm gonna go with BYU.
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with BYU.
- 52:03SPEAKER_01: I'm still mad at TCU for beat mission in the playoffs.
- 52:06SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna say it.
- 52:07SPEAKER_01: I'll never I'll I'll never forget that from that program.
- 52:09SPEAKER_05: Never forgive the Horn Frogs for four years ago.
- 52:12SPEAKER_05: The horny toads.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: I'm digging BYU.
- 52:14SPEAKER_01: I think I think Bear Bach Meyer's a really good quarterback, and I'm not picking against him.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean BYU.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not BYU fan either, but I think that I'm less of a TCU fan.
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: And I just really haven't heard much from the program.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't think I've watched a TCU game the entire year.
- 52:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is her first ranked opponent on the schedule.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: And it shouldn't go well for them.
- 52:37SPEAKER_02: Give me BYU.
- 52:38SPEAKER_05: Alright, BYU across the board here.
- 52:40SPEAKER_05: Pretty self-explanatory.
- 52:42SPEAKER_05: This is an ACC matchup that I really wish would have more juice.
- 52:45SPEAKER_05: Number four, Miami traveling on the road to Death Valley to play Clemson.
- 52:49SPEAKER_05: You'd think this game would be an absolute banger, and it would be just like an elite top five, top ten, top fifteen matchup.
- 52:56SPEAKER_05: Clemson's not the same.
- 52:58SPEAKER_05: Dabo Swinney's Air Ryan Clemson, I think, is coming to an end.
- 53:00SPEAKER_05: I think Miami's gonna dominate this one with Darien Manson, Alcai Tony.
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: I think this game right here represents the two polar opposites of college football.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: You have one team that has all the NAL, goes and attacks the portal, and you have one team that believes you know they're homegrown, they're gonna bring guys in and develop them.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: And so far, uh it's just I mean, it's not close what has a better result.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, Miami, Miami's stance of going and attacking the portals just obviously resulted in better um I mean results on the field.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: And it's not changing here.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: I'm taking Miami.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm taking Miami as well.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: And I like that you mentioned that because I think that's a a talking point that is gonna get addressed soon within college football is the entire NIL situation.
- 53:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, it it it comes to the point that you have to recruit new players coming in, but also gotta keep your own players now.
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: And I mean that's a big issue.
- 53:52SPEAKER_00: I think that they're uh kind of modifying that transfer rule a little bit coming coming up soon, maybe, but uh I'm not really sure on that, but hopefully they they figure out a solution with that because that just shows like you think about Clemson just being a dominant team every year, and this year they're not.
- 54:08SPEAKER_05: So they haven't been since the mid to late 2010s.
- 54:11SPEAKER_05: That was the last time they won their national championship, I believe was the 2018 season was the last time they won their last national championship.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: They've always been competitive though overall.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: But this year, this year it's just something different.
- 54:24SPEAKER_05: Clemson's just not the same Clemson.
- 54:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that uh Hunter Renfro game winning touchdown against Bama in that championship game.
- 54:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was years ago.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: Great times, man, but yeah, those times are over.
- 54:34SPEAKER_02: Give me Miami.
- 54:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they've been over.
- 54:36SPEAKER_05: I think Miami's gonna dominate this game here.
- 54:39SPEAKER_05: Alright, Big 12 again.
- 54:41SPEAKER_05: Number 12 Texas Tech going on the road to Colorado.
- 54:44SPEAKER_05: I mean, Colorado a couple weeks ago just got blown out by Northwestern on the road, and Northwestern's the bottom of the barrel Big Ten team.
- 54:51SPEAKER_05: Texas Tech is the best team in the Big 12, Texas Tech's seeming to dominate.
- 54:55SPEAKER_01: I don't completely agree with that statement.
- 54:57SPEAKER_01: I think DIU is the best team in the Big 12, personally.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I mean the Deion Sanders era in Colorado might be coming to an end.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: It's just not working so far.
- 55:06SPEAKER_05: Not at all.
- 55:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 55:07SPEAKER_00: And I like getting Coach Prime, really good coach, but you don't have the weapons anymore.
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: You don't have, you know, the Heisman winner on your team at Colorado.
- 55:16SPEAKER_05: You don't have Shadur Sanders, who as much as we like to blame him a little bit.
- 55:22SPEAKER_05: As much as we like to clown on him a little bit for that, he was a very talented quarterback at Colorado, did a lot of great things there.
- 55:28SPEAKER_05: But yeah, you're right.
- 55:29SPEAKER_05: They don't have the playmakers.
- 55:30SPEAKER_05: Colorado's not the same.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I mean, if that like fitness trainer gave us another bad speech, bro, it's perhaps honestly.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: Like, the only thing I've heard from that Colorado team is just so speeches and how bad they've been playing.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: So I cannot pit them the win here.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: Give me Tits instead.
- 55:50SPEAKER_05: Alright, Texas second across the board here.
- 55:52SPEAKER_05: We're going out to the West Coast Big Ten now.
- 55:54SPEAKER_05: Number 18 USC hosting Washington.
- 55:56SPEAKER_05: I actually think this one could be an interesting game.
- 55:59SPEAKER_05: USC has no defense coming off the loss against Oregon.
- 56:02SPEAKER_05: Washington's also coming off of the loss against Minnesota.
- 56:05SPEAKER_05: Both of them were home losses.
- 56:06SPEAKER_05: But Washington's got a very talented offense, Damon Williams at quarterback.
- 56:10SPEAKER_05: I think Washington's gonna give USC a run here, but I'll take USC for the W.
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: I'm taking Washington.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: I'm taking Washington for one specific reason, and that's the entirety of the Nation of America wants USC to lose this game after the clown show that pulled off against Oregon.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: And I think that that the entire program's catching a little heat.
- 56:33SPEAKER_00: And when you have outside distractions from football like that, it's gonna be hard to focus on that game.
- 56:38SPEAKER_00: Give me Washington for that game right there.
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: Like that pick.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: I'm taking Washington for Washington for a complete different reason.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: I just think USC, quite frankly, hasn't played well the last couple weeks.
- 56:48SPEAKER_05: They didn't like like I mentioned, they don't have a defense.
- 56:50SPEAKER_01: And uh Washington's coming off a big loss, and I think that they're gonna be very motivated to come in and play this game, and I'm taking Washington.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, despite all the controversy, I just USC is just a better team.
- 57:03SPEAKER_02: Give me USC.
- 57:04SPEAKER_05: They are the better team.
- 57:05SPEAKER_05: That's why I picked them.
- 57:06SPEAKER_05: They have a very talented offense, even though, like I said, they don't really have a defense.
- 57:09SPEAKER_05: Jaden Mayava on that offense is still extremely talented.
- 57:12SPEAKER_05: They know how to move the football, they know what they're doing on the offensive side of the ball.
- 57:16SPEAKER_05: It's it's gonna be a shootout, but I think USD's gonna come out on top of that game.
- 57:21SPEAKER_05: Alright, couple more for college football, and then we'll move on to a quick NFL pick 'em.
- 57:25SPEAKER_05: Number twenty two, Boise State, hosts Utah State.
- 57:28SPEAKER_05: That's self-explanatory.
- 57:29SPEAKER_05: I think the Broncos are gonna run away with that one.
- 57:31SPEAKER_01: I think Boise State's gotta get into a better conference because they're a good team, and I mean the schedule does not do them justice.
- 57:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, first in the Mountain West, and now they're in the Pac-12.
- 57:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I completely agree.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: Boise State's always been a pretty good college football program.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, you think year after year, I mean, they're they're always pretty decent, and I think Boise State's gonna pull this one out pretty easily.
- 57:53SPEAKER_02: Boise State.
- 57:54SPEAKER_05: Alright, self-explanatory.
- 57:57SPEAKER_05: Okay, no, no need to talk about this one.
- 57:58SPEAKER_05: Number 11, L S U hosting McNey State.
- 58:00SPEAKER_05: LSU.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: Lane Kiffin.
- 58:03SPEAKER_05: Linkin.
- 58:05SPEAKER_05: Go Tigers.
- 58:06SPEAKER_02: Hey.
- 58:07SPEAKER_02: L S U.
- 58:09SPEAKER_05: Easy enough.
- 58:10SPEAKER_05: Last one for college football.
- 58:12SPEAKER_05: Number six, Indiana on the road at Rutgers.
- 58:17SPEAKER_05: Oh my.
- 58:18SPEAKER_02: Indiana.
- 58:19SPEAKER_01: Indiana.
- 58:19SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: Don't sleep on the scroll at nights, man.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: I just think it's gonna be interesting to see how Indiana responds to a bad week of football.
- 58:26SPEAKER_01: I think um I think they're gonna smoke the I think they will too, but who but who knows?
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: They haven't really faced adversity in I mean, since two years ago.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: They haven't faced adversity since the national championship.
- 58:37SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 58:37SPEAKER_03: Okay, they played.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: But like still, like they haven't really faced adversity in two years, and I think they're gonna blow out records, don't get me wrong, but I'm really kind of intrigued to see how they handle it.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: I think they're gonna handle it great.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I think Kurt Signati is probably the best coach in college football.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: I don't care what anyone says.
- 58:55SPEAKER_05: I will I mean when you rebuild Indiana from a three-and-nine team to a national champion in two years, you're doing something right.
- 59:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll die on that hill that Signati's the best coach in college football right now, and I think he's just one of those guys that we talk about the demeanor with Lane Kiffin, right?
- 59:09SPEAKER_00: The the calm the poise, right?
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: That's the word that we like to use.
- 59:13SPEAKER_00: I think Kurt Signati's got the best demeanor in college football with that.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, coming out, you know, your guys are getting flamed for a three-win, you know, or a three-point win against Northwestern or whatever it was.
- 59:24SPEAKER_00: And he goes out, well, a win's a win, and we're gonna continue to win football games, you know.
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: Google me, right?
- 59:29SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: Yep, he's gonna go pull that one out.
- 59:32SPEAKER_05: All right, we all picked the end of that one.
- 59:34SPEAKER_05: We almost forgot.
- 59:35SPEAKER_05: Let's we're gonna stay in college football for one more game.
- 59:37SPEAKER_05: Almost forgot our local Spartans.
- 59:38SPEAKER_05: Almost forgot.
- 59:39SPEAKER_05: They're on the road at Camp Randall playing the Wisconsin Badgers.
- 59:43SPEAKER_05: Wisconsin coming off a big upset win in Happy Valley over the 14th ranked Penn State Nintendo Lions.
- 59:50SPEAKER_05: Sparty, like we mentioned earlier, bit by the injury bug.
- 59:54SPEAKER_05: Their team is seems like it's falling apart just because of the injuries.
- 59:58SPEAKER_05: And Camp Randall's a tough place to play, gentlemen.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_05: I think Wisconsin's gonna come out on top with the W and Michigan State's gonna lose their third in a row.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_01: If you asked me this uh this question last week, my answer would be a lot different.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: I I mean this team is gonna it's gonna be completely different.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: Like they're gonna have to game plan a completely different game.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_05: Without Cam Edwards.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_01: And I mean Wisconsin is a tough place to play.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: They've and I mean they've established that the Big Ten for a couple years now.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_01: I think Wisconsin's gonna get the win.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_00: As much as I hate to say it, I think the Badgers pull this one out.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: Um again, disappointing so far for MSU, and it looks like it's gonna continue that trend.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's a reason why you forgot about this game, though.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_02: And it's just very forgettable.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: I just I mean, like two mid bid TED teams don't add it, and I think the less bid, you know, less med is gonna win here.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_02: Give me Wisconsin.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_05: Alright, Wisconsin across the board.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_05: Unfortunate first party, though.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_05: Just having to deal with all those injuries.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_05: Alright, done with college football.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_05: Let's move on to some NFL pick-ums.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_05: Nut, you alluded to it earlier.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_05: We were talking about the Browns.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_05: You're hoping they're getting the upset tonight.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_00: I hope they do.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_05: Thursday night football, Browns and Steelers in Cleveland.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know if I can pick the Browns just because I still don't trust them yet.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_05: But I hope the upset happens too.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_05: I really hope the upset happens.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_05: Just because of that, I will pick the Browns.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_05: It's hard for me to do it, but I'm going Cleveland here.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be close.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: It will be.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_01: You got Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's been in the game for a while.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_01: He knows how pick apart defenses.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_01: I I I'm picking the Steelers.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_01: I just I just don't think that they're gonna lose this game, unfortunately.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_00: So I'm picking the Browns.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_00: I think that the honesty at this point of the season Browns offense is better than the Steelers' offense overall.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_00: I we talk about like, oh, Steelers defense, Steelers defense, Steelers defense, okay?
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you've heard me talk about that practice.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_00: I don't think the Steelers defense is that good.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_00: I I I'll flat out and say it.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_00: I'll flat out and say it that they they gave up 20 points to you know subpar Drake May.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_05: I I don't only scored six against that same team.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_00: I think that the Steelers are not gonna win this game.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_00: I think Deshaun Watson's gonna have a good game.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna have two plus passion touchdowns and hopefully he rushes for one too here.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_02: So two Browns, one Steelers.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_02: Fehi, what do you got?
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Um the Steelers just scored 30 points at home against the Bengals.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_02: And the Bengals defense actually has not looked that bad.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_05: They have improved significantly this year for sure.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_02: And honestly, I'm gonna take the Steelers here.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_02: It is gonna be a close game, but I mean the Browns being 3-1 is just unimaginable at this stage.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_05: I think it'll be a slug fest.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be your typical AFC North matchup where there's not that many points being scored.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be a slug fest, but I think the Browns are gonna come out on top.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_05: We're even on this one.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_05: All right, moving on to Sunday slate.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_05: We got a London game, our first London game of the year at 9.30 in the morning.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_05: Washington takes on Indianapolis.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna go with the Colts here.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, they just got their first win.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: Sauce Gardner got his win in America last week.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_00: And uh hopefully he can get his international wins because he he's really known for that at this point.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_00: So give me the Colts.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: This is his time to shine.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: I think he's gonna stay in America with it.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: I think the commanders are gonna win.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_01: I mean I mean, with how Marcus Mariota last I mean played last week, are you kidding me?
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, that guy looked like he didn't miss a like a beat since college.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: I like the commanders.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_02: I'll be sleeping.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_02: I won't watch again.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_02: But still, I mean, I watched the games last week, and by that, I'll get I'll take Marcus Mariota and the Commanders.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_05: Seems like we got a little bit of an alliance going on.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_05: Me and Nut against Peyton and Faye right now.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_05: Alright, one o'clock's late.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_05: Got an AFC East matchup.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_05: Patriots and the Bills.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_05: I really hope we're all on the same page with this one.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_05: I'm taking Buffalo by a mile.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, I hope the Bills win.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_05: If they don't win this game, there's problems in Buffalo.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_01: I think Drake may gets rolling a little bit because the Bills' defense has been, I mean, not great.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_01: We all can uh can agree with that.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_01: So I just hope for the Patriots' sake that, you know, Drake May can get his feet under him and and progress a little bit this season and look a little bit like he did last year.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: But I mean, Josh Allen's just unstoppable this year.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_00: It's difficult when you're playing good teams in the NFL now.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: And then do and I mean the Bills played a terrible half of football last week in the first half.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_01: They turned the ball over at either three or four times.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_05: I think it was three, yeah.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_05: Josh Allen threw four passes and two of them were picks to start the game.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_01: And he's still and they still won.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you beat a team when they turn the ball over three times in a half and they still win?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_01: It's it's gonna be the Bills.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, this is a hopefully this is an upset watch because Drake may can literally not play any worse at this stage.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_02: So, but I also gotta take the Bills here.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, Josh Allen's just unstoppable.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_05: Okay, thank goodness we're all on the same page for that one.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_05: Alright, Bears and Jets.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna go last on this one.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_05: I want to hear your guys' thoughts for this game.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_05: Bears and Jets.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: Gino played well against the Lions.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_01: He did.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_01: Now, is that because Gino is playing well or is that because he's playing the Lions?
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_01: That's a whole I mean, we talked about that already.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: I'm interested to see who's gonna be at quarterback in this game.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_01: Do you stay with um Do you stay with Case Keenum?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_01: Case Keenum or do you go to Tyson Bajent?
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't see a reason why the Bears would go to Tyson Bajent after how Case Keenum played last week.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_01: I I agree, but um Ben Johnson also spoke about how I mean Tyson Bajant won the role for a reason in the training camp.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: So I think I think if Case Keenum plays in this game, I think the Bears win.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_01: I think if Tyson Bajent plays in the in this game, I think the Jets are gonna find a way to win.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_01: That's my take.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_02: You guys are giving Geno Smith too much credit, I feel like.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_02: Honestly.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_01: The Jets have played well.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_01: They have played pretty good.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_02: Have you seen the Lions defense?
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_02: We just talk crapped about them for like five minutes, and you're like, Yeah, I mean, Chicago has so many weapons on that.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: offense and the fact that Casey don't look that good after three years, I do not doubt him now.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_02: Give me the Bears.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_00: Not I think the Bears are gonna go and you know kind of drop the ball here in this game.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_00: I think that they've played a couple really good opponents, a couple really good teams.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_00: And the Bears never strike me as a str like a streaky team with that.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_00: Like you've seen you've won four games here, win five games here, whatever, whatever, whatever.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_00: As a Lions fan and as a chronic Bills hate or uh Bears hater, I'm gonna take the Jets here.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_05: I agree.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_05: I'm going to go with the Jets as well.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_05: I mean all of you guys mentioned it.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_05: Geno Smith has played well through the first three weeks.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_05: He took the Packers to overtime didn't come out on top but took the Packers to overtime nonetheless.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_05: Took the Lions down to the wire got a win in in the first week of the season granted that was against the Titans but in the NFL a wins a win.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_05: And he's got weapons to work with Brees Hall I'm pretty sure is questionable for this game.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_05: He's not he's out.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_05: He's going he's not playing yeah he's not playing that's gonna be a big loss but they've still got Braylon Allen in the backfield who's a solid RB2 for the Jets.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_05: Kenyon Sadiq phenomenal playmaker at tight end Garrett Wilson great playmaker at wide receiver and the Jets offensive line is not awful.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_05: They've got some decent guys on that offensive line I think the Jets are going to win this game.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah and I think it comes down to like is the Bears defense good or is the teams that they've been playing that they've beaten have they just had a poor offensive performative like performance and I think that we can argue that with the Eagles especially that was just bad offense.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_00: I do think the Bears defense is probably marginally better than the Jets but I I do think that the Jets are going to pull this one out.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_05: One last point I want to make on this game is depending on who the starting quarterback is I think it'll be Case Keenum I don't see why it wouldn't be Case Keenum after the performance he had last week against the Eagles I think it was a one-hit wonder performance.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_05: I think it's gonna be his best and only good performance of the season until Caleb Williams comes back and I think he's gonna have a huge letdown this week against the Jets defense that's still not a bad unit and the Bears are gonna lose I think the Jets come out with a win on the road and get to two and two.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_05: Alright Jaguars and Bengals now for this next game the Jaguars have looked good this season they just dominated the Patriots from start to finish last week the Bengals have looked pretty solid with that new and improved defense that we've been talking about.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_05: It's in Sincy and they open as a two and a half point favorite the Bengals do.
- 1:08:37SPEAKER_05: But with how good the Jaguars have looked I'm gonna go with Jacksonville here.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_01: This is a hard game for me because I really I'm I like both teams on paper.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_01: I think they both have really good rosters.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_01: I think Joe Burrow is finally gonna take the step this year that he hasn't took in this year yet and he's gonna lead a team to a win and I'm taking the Bengals so I think that Trevor Lawrence is starting to blossom into a really good quarterback in the NFL I'm just gonna say that right off the bat.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_00: However the Bengals defense has made big strides over the last couple you know over the this year specifically I'm taking the Bengals in this game because one they're at home but I would not be surprised if if Jacksonville does pull this one out I think I think it's one of those those games or it's kind of a coin flip.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_00: They're both AFC opponents I mean it's just hard to bet against the Joe Burrow Jamar Chase connection though.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_01: And I just want to point out real quick I'm I mean the biggest Jags believer I think ever like probably in this room I just think that the Jags playing so well last week that I just don't think they're gonna play as well as they did last week this week.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_02: Well I don't think it was just them playing good.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_02: I think the Pat Patriots just played awful they've just been playing awful honestly and I mean I am a Jazz believer as well I see you disp you always disapproving on my Tates.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_02: But I will take Jadsonville here.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_02: They have so many good weapons Parker Washington's looked like an absolute stud as people predicted he has been coming into his own this year.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_05: Basel Tudin's an absolute dog love that guy he's yeah he's been a pleasant surprise in the backfield for sure so yeah I'll take Jadsonville honestly all right Arizona and the Giants in the middle of this one o'clock slate.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_01: Cardinals have pretty high powered offense here Peyton wants to say something really quick go ahead I can I just love JJ McCarthy dude I mean I just love that guy nine is in New York if and he's 18 now I'm glad he chose 18 over what he was thinking about too that's all I'm gonna say um I want I mean I don't know is JJ gonna play this week do we know like is I think Jameis Winston is gonna be the starter still this week I just want JJ to play so bad.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_01: This guy needs a second chance man and I think with the talent that the Giants have it's I mean it you couldn't make a better situation for JJ McCarthy to come into first of all um with I mean a good what what do you mean?
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_01: I think of uh Justin Jefferson's a pretty good situation to have Justin Jefferson Jordan Addison okay but I listen I 100% agree with you guys but after last season he was never gonna be the starter of Minnesota again.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah I mean yeah of course so like of the other teams he's played awful of the other I I agree but I mean do you see Geno Smith?
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_01: I mean he turned it around right I mean I just think I mean a Harbaugh brother the the story aligns man he's gonna take this team to the playoffs I'm taking the Giants I don't even know who the I forgot who the game is it's the Cardinals I don't know I don't know who's starting at quarterback I don't care the Giants are winning this game okay what a start to this game nut let's hear your thoughts I mean I had an argument with Louie probably for 30 minutes on the phone that JJ McCarthy's one of the most overrated quarterbacks to ever go in the first round I mean I I'm a I'm not a fan Trey Lance okay okay okay okay okay I said one of for a reason okay I do not think JJ McCarthy is a good quarterback even in like yes he led Michigan to a national championship okay he led them to a national championship I don't think he's a good NFL quarterback I don't and uh I mean Jameis Winston I love Jameis Winston but he's just not gonna get the job done he's not gonna get the job done overall so give me the Cardinals here yeah nine is not playing and that's why I'm picking the Cardinals I'm gonna be honest here I mean the Giants just looked like they had Zero Spark on offense they don't Stataboo honestly like just kind of get the run game going it's easy to key in on Cam Scataboo when Jameis Winston is struggling to find Malik neighbors and Isaiah likely in the passing game Malik neighbors with one good late so it's not like Peyton go ahead real quick before I make my pick.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_01: I just have one quote a Jameis Winston quote I mean the horses are ready for battle but the ability to win comes from the Lord.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_05: Give me the Giants that's a great quote but can you explain that to please no we don't have time um I I just I can't go with the Giants as Peyton I'm sorry I love JJ McCarthy just as much as you do being a Michigan fan but I mean he he's just not been the same quarterback as I hate that dude as he was at Michigan.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_05: So I'm going with the rest of the crowd I'm going with nothing Fahy I'm going with the Cardinals they have a high powered offense Trey McBride is a playmaker at tight end Jeremiah loves solid running back I think the Cardinals are going to get it done in New York.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_05: So let's move on to Rams and Eagles Eagles coming off of a brutal loss in Chicago Rams coming off of a shootout loss and a blown lead against the Denver Broncos.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_05: This one's in Philly I think the Rams are gonna win this game though the Rams are the better team on paper.
- 1:13:59SPEAKER_05: The Eagles have had some struggles on offense so far.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_01: I think the Rams are going to win this game I mean really these are two teams that are not where they expected to be um preseason.
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_01: You have a team that the Eagles expect I mean the Eagles offense was supposed to be really good this year again.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah they got rid of the cancer that was AJ Brown.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_01: And they've just been stifling.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_01: I mean Devontae Smith has had one good game he hasn't really produced like how they thought they were going to the other two Saquon Barkley I think they're gonna try to get Saquon Barkley going this week.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_01: I don't know if they're gonna be successful.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_01: The Rams secondary is pretty proven they have some guys from Kansas City that came over I just don't think that they're gonna do it.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_02: Sean McVeigh has not slept since that loss against the the Denver Broncos and he's gonna get the win I agree Eagle had um yeah this is possibly like a prerequisite to like any possible playoff game in the future because they have played in the past too I mean they've multiple times.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah if they've all been like close games and who won that last matchup it was the Eagles I believe it was the Eagles because that was their Super Bowl run.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah and I feel like the Rams will get their revenge game here.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_02: I mean they need to win the game here I mean they're always the best team on paper no matter who up they match up against honestly especially this year.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah and I mean is Puka still out Puka they've got positive news it sounds like he's he's questionable right now but it sounds like he's gonna be good to go for Sunday.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_02: If he's f if he's good to go I'm honestly just taking the Rams straight up he's gonna have a good game.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing also the Rams need this game.
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_01: If they drop if they drop to one and three in that division they're not uh they're not guaranteed a playoff spot.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_01: I mean with who they have to play the rest of the year.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_01: I mean the Eagles have a little bit easier division.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_01: I won't say easy they still have some um good competitive teams in there but the Rams need this one.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_00: The Niners are looking good too I think the Eagles have a hundred percent easier division.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah oh NFC West is the toughest division in football and it's not close.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah exactly um so I do think the Rams are gonna win um I think Jalen Hurts looked I mean he looked like he got rocked that game and he played like it um they get Saquon going though I mean I wouldn't be surprised again I want to see Blake Quorum get more touches.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm just gonna say that Blake Quorum needs more touches he needs more touches with the football.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_00: He's been looking good I mean he had six carries Kyron Williams had 15.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_00: It is clear that they're giving Kyron still more touches he had a good game like 88 yards or something like that.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_00: But um I do think that the especially with Puka and Devontae Adams two high powered weapons like that I mean that's that's difficult to game plan against so give me the Rams there.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_05: Alright Packers and Buccaneers this is two teams that are on the struggle bus right now going up against each other in Tampa Bay and the Packers are three and a half point favorites to open it up this is a must win for both teams go Bucks.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_05: I I cannot stand the Packers for the life of me I know the rest of you guys feel the same as Lions fans but I'm gonna have to go with Green Bay.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_05: Tampa Bay is without Baker Mayfield Jalen Daniels is going to be the starting quarterback for the Buccaneers Jalen Daniels not Jaden Daniels he's from Kansas uh but I think the Packers are gonna win I think they're just gonna completely rock Jalen Daniels in his first career start and they're finally gonna get something sort of going on offense.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_05: If they get the ball to Christian Watson consistently I think they'll be fine.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_01: I think the Packers win this one I don't know but like these two teams have been the most disappointing so far I feel like in the NFL I don't maybe the Rams you can throw up there too.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_01: But I mean with Bakers extension coming to the year you did not think that you're gonna be 0-3 coming into this game.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_01: And I mean as much as much as I don't think the Packers are a good football team I mean it's this is a tough matchup for Jalen Daniels to come into this game and I think the Packers are going to win.
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_00: Um I think that the Bucks are gonna pull it out I'm gonna go with the Bucks here.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_05: With a first career start quarterback Jalen Daniels really I I mean it's gotta happen at some point.
- 1:18:06SPEAKER_00: Everybody's gonna be a start at some point yeah exactly makes his first start and I mean I don't know much about the guy but I like his name so hopefully he pulls one out I mean I just can't I cannot I can never ever ever ever ever pick the Packers after last week yeah I just like I refuse to pick them until they prove and like yeah Tampa Bay's looked probably worse okay you just got put up 35 with the Falcons I mean that is what they they have to get Micah Parsons back.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_00: They need him on defense they need him need him need Josh Jacobs Jaden Reed's out for the year so that's a big loss that's what I'm saying then you're you're losing receiver you have one receiver with Christian Watson I mean I just think they got Matthew Golden though they got him going a little bit last week.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_05: I will say Matthew Golden has been coming into it a little bit Matthew Golden is Matthew Golden Nutt does not approve all right so Nutt's got the Buccaneers Peyton and I have the Packers Peggy who do you got I mean the Buccaneers have showed zero life in these three games just COTness like their coaches like what part of this team is good that can win a football game right now I truthfully don't know.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_05: Currently not really any part of it is good enough.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah I mean like I mean honestly I want something to happen but you should just change for Jeremiah Smith get a good reliable receiver that is not named Mike Evans.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah now that they don't have Mike Evans that's their offense is almost gone yeah I mean Rashad White's gone not who's a Buck Irving's played well Buck Irving has been decent like the only life Buccaneers have on offense see I honestly I assisted I'm gonna be honest that guy I kind of blurred that guy out of my mind after he's from he's from Michigan State not really yeah not not not really don't fool me this time but yeah give me the Patchers okay unfortunately this one should be pretty self-explanatory the Ravens hosting the Titans uh the Ravens they're 11 and a half point favorites coming in the Ravens should dominate this one I got Baltimore Cam Ward is awful the Titans are awful yeah but everyone says the Titans are awful they are but Cam Ward has Carnell Tate Carnell Tate's a rookie think about this in a bad situation the O line is awful okay look at this I I I I read a stat the um literally early this morning Carnell Tate leads the league in yards of separation per route and it's like four it's four yards that is a lot of yards in an FL it is but it's gonna be hard to find that receiver with that much separation when Cam Ward has less than two seconds in the pocket with their offensive line.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah I think you're giving Cam Ward too much credit here and honestly the Titans are not a good football team.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_02: They're obviously you're not but Cam Ward is help not helping their case here in this situation and I'm tired of giving I guarantee you put Cam Ward on pretty much any of the other 31 NFL teams he plays a whole heck of a lot better.
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_02: I guarantee a whole lot better he plays marginally better.
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_00: That's gotta be I mean you said that JSN went to Michigan State and I thought that was a really weird thing to say that Cam Ward is just completely awful is really bad.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_05: He hasn't proven anything because he's played on the Titans what do you expect he's in the worst situation in the NFL I expect him to show at least some flashes they have no offensive line his best playmaker in the passing game is a rookie their running backs are mid in Tony Pollard and TJ Spears so we can't really rely on them and their defense isn't that good either's actually watch watch a Tennessee Titans game watch some of the tech Cam Ward has to do in the pocket.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_01: Like that man's fighting for his life day in and day out he did the same thing at Miami when he played in college he was running for really well at May that's the issue gimme Baltimore yeah I mean Jesse Mentor is going to make Cam Ward's life terrible for 60 minutes as give me the Ravens.
- 1:21:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah as much as we are defending Cam Ward the Ravens are going to win this game just because the Titans themselves are a horrible football team I didn't mean to get that mean to get that argument that heated I was just mainly saying like he just hasn't looked good in this offense and no one's looked good in this offense.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_02: So like I I have to take I'm not picking the Titans over anyone right now.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_02: Give me the Ravens.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_00: It's not Cam Ward's fault.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah at least we can all agree that the Ravens he's part of this game he's not fully part of it but well at least we can all agree the Ravens are gonna win.
- 1:22:23SPEAKER_05: Alright a battle of Texas here Cowboys and the Houston Texans.
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_05: Who do we got in this one?
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_05: Texans are off to a rough start they're 0-3.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_01: They gotta get it going both these teams are off to I mean subpar starts the Cowboys the way the Cowboys lost last week everybody has said all the whole season the Cowboys are different.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_01: I think you talked about this last week a little bit that you haven't seen it yet.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_01: No I mean we haven't seen it yet we haven't say this defense is new and improved it hasn't been they gave up 30 what 34 points was it to the Ravens last week and they gave up a game winning field goal when they had seven seconds left.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_01: I mean dude but CJ Stroud and that Houston's Texans offense has just not done it for me either the defense the defense has regressed it looks like I think they go to 0 and 4.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_01: I think the Dallas wins this game.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah I agree.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah I'm with you too I'm with both you on that one and you know you we just talked about Porter getting added to the secondary as well that just shows like the the team's there to win right yep I mean you're making plays you're making moves so I mean it speaks in the confidence that the organization has within this team and I think they're gonna be hopefully pretty solid here coming up.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah I've honestly I've hated how this Cowboys defense has looked just absolutely awful and I know I've said that about a lot of teams right no but there's a lot of awful right now you're not wrong.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_02: I mean bro that front seven's the worst of the NFL and I truly don't think it's that close.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_01: Nico Collins is back by the way so that's that's a big help for you maybe maybe he can breathe some life into the offense and help the defense stay off the field a little bit I think that's their biggest issue is the fact that I mean if they're going three now they're on the field the whole game.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_01: Like of course you're gonna get tired when you're on the field the whole game.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah and I just don't I mean they that game was completely mishandled by Brian Schadenhammer in the like the late game situation.
- 1:24:11SPEAKER_02: They should have won that game no question.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_05: At the very least if they lost they would have lost it in overtime there's no reason the Cowboys should have lost that in regulation.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_02: No reason for that I feel like it's just like there's too many weapons on that team that get mishandled and I mean I feel like they're gonna get mishandled again.
- 1:24:27SPEAKER_05: Give me the tattoo the only Houston pick I believe Lone Wolf.
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_05: Alright we shouldn't spend too much time on this game.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_05: The Dolphins at the Vikings the Vikings have the Vikings have arguably the best defense I don't like the Vikings their division rival the Lions but skull they always find a way to just win games the Dolphins the Dolphins might not score a touchdown in this game let's be honest.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_05: Devon A Chan out Devon A Chan Oli Gordon and Jalen Wright in the backfield gonna have to run the show.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_01: But no shout out Ali Gordon's Nike won your fantasy league this good this week folks.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah everyone who's high on Ali Gordon no don't be they're playing the Vikings this week he might not score halfway first don't underestimate Malik Willis oh boy here you are with Malik Willis I've just said a Cam Warden track completely ripping apart Cam Warden here's a Malik Willis we got a move trade man okay we need new guests next week man this has been a nightmare touch it for you page that was a complete sarcasm comment by the way I hope so yeah give me the pikens it's not gonna be I dropped Malik Willis in fantasy skull all across the board okay here's an interesting one 425 AFC West matchup undefeated Kansas City Chiefs at the Las Vegas Raiders where did the Raiders come from this year gentlemen 3-0 start what's going on in Vegas I mean they have a great connection Faye pointed out last week am I allowed to say it nope nope not this Bowers and Kirk cousins man I mean they looked phenomenal in their first game together it's just the dark magic man like I don't know something about it Raider Nation man.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_00: Well I'm picking Raiders I'm picking the Raiders too I mean I think the Raiders have been looking amazing and like yeah like Genty Bowers um yeah I mean Kirk Cousins has been dealing defense I mean you still have Max Crosby hey that hey that's somebody man it's somebody to give Patrick Mahomes fits in the pocket.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_02: Exactly I feel like the only reason the Chiefs have lost in the previous years is because they haven't got their run game going like at all.
- 1:26:32SPEAKER_02: But they have Kenneth Walker this year.
- 1:26:34SPEAKER_02: Right and now you can't it is way harder to contain Patrick Mahomes now in that offense because they're not one dimensional they have multiple things they can do on offense.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_05: So give me that Chiefs I love that team a lot right now Raider Nation I'm going with the Raiders the Chiefs do look really good this year.
- 1:26:53SPEAKER_05: I agree you make a great point they finally have a running game because they actually have a dynamic running back in the backfield not Isaiah Pacheco it's Kenneth Walker.
- 1:27:01SPEAKER_05: But I mean I'm riding the Raiders hype train they're 3-0 I gotta ride the Raiders hype train so Faye you're a lone wolf on this one even though I do like your argument a lot it's crazy that he's the lone wolf on this button it is I would have thought that I mean I thought I was gonna be the one person with the Raiders.
- 1:27:15SPEAKER_05: No I'm picking the Raiders I'm picking the Raiders partially out of spite but also because I like the hype train that uh the Raiders have got going right now the Chiefs honestly don't need dark magic to win this game.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_02: They're just looking good.
- 1:27:27SPEAKER_02: No they are a uh talented team for sure Travis Chelsea is looking better than ever honestly unfortunately which is surprising considering how he's how old now?
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_05: He's in his mid to late 30s at this point in his career, right?
- 1:27:39SPEAKER_05: And he's still playing really high level football.
- 1:27:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:27:42SPEAKER_05: All right four more games this week another 425 game Broncos and 49ers.
- 1:27:47SPEAKER_05: This one's gonna be a really good one too I think the Broncos are actually going to come out on top of this one on the road just because the 49ers keep getting bit by the injury bug man.
- 1:27:56SPEAKER_05: I think the Broncos are going to come out on top after a huge win over the Rams They're gonna keep rolling through the NFC West and beat the Niners.
- 1:28:03SPEAKER_01: I pick against the Broncos every week and it just always bites me.
- 1:28:07SPEAKER_01: It doesn't work.
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_01: So I'm thinking if I pick the Broncos the week, but if I if I if I pick the Broncos this week, they're gonna lose.
- 1:28:15SPEAKER_01: So I'm picking the Broncos, but I want the 49ers to win.
- 1:28:17SPEAKER_01: I just want to make that point clear.
- 1:28:19SPEAKER_05: He wants the 49ers, so he's reverse psychology picking Denver.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:28:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:28:24SPEAKER_00: They get a new wide receiver or something on Instagram or something like that.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_00: That's what I've been seeing somewhere.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_00: No, I think that the Broncos are gonna actually win this one out.
- 1:28:34SPEAKER_00: Just because again, I mean I said it.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_00: They just find a way to win football games.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're the 49ers could be up by, you know, 17 points at halftime.
- 1:28:43SPEAKER_00: And the bro I wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos squeak one out there.
- 1:28:46SPEAKER_00: So I like Sean Payton, I like Bo Knicks.
- 1:28:48SPEAKER_00: Um I like the Broncos uh team overall defense of Sologan Broncos.
- 1:28:54SPEAKER_02: I'm still not a bow believer as much as you don't bull leave?
- 1:28:58SPEAKER_02: I not fully, man.
- 1:29:00SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 1:29:00SPEAKER_01: I believe in that defense, though.
- 1:29:02SPEAKER_01: I believe in the Broncos.
- 1:29:04SPEAKER_02: Like I just I mean, but I also Jalen Waddle's obviously a stud.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_02: We've seen a bunch from him.
- 1:29:12SPEAKER_02: Jalen, I mean, relax.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_02: Right now?
- 1:29:16SPEAKER_02: He's not a top 10 quarterback.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_02: Right now, he's not?
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_02: No, absolutely not.
- 1:29:20SPEAKER_02: That's a whole nother debate that we just don't have time for.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we don't have time for all that, guys.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, maybe we can talk about it later on Discord or some shit.
- 1:29:32SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 1:29:33SPEAKER_02: But like, for real though, give me the Broncos.
- 1:29:38SPEAKER_02: The Niners are just riddled with injuries.
- 1:29:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, injury bug, I mentioned it already.
- 1:29:43SPEAKER_05: Biting the 49ers like crazy.
- 1:29:45SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 1:29:46SPEAKER_05: Staying on the West Coast, Chargers at Seahawks.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_05: I think the Seahawks are gonna get a big bounce-back win.
- 1:29:52SPEAKER_05: The Chargers have looked horrible through their first three games.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_05: I mean, man, 0-3 start.
- 1:29:57SPEAKER_05: Nobody expected that for the Chargers to start the year, and the Seahawks reigning Super Bowl champs just came off of a big upset loss.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_05: I think they're gonna come out ready to play this week.
- 1:30:07SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 1:30:07SPEAKER_00: I mean Madison Beer Fact.
- 1:30:09SPEAKER_00: Um Chargers are losing the song.
- 1:30:11SPEAKER_00: Give me the Seahawks.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
- 1:30:15SPEAKER_05: I feel like there's not much to say here.
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_05: I feel like it's the Seahawks pretty easily.
- 1:30:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but the thing is, Chargers have always had a rough schedule in past years and they always they have the toughest schedule in the league this year, I think.
- 1:30:25SPEAKER_02: Well, they've always found out a way to win games.
- 1:30:27SPEAKER_02: They just don't win.
- 1:30:28SPEAKER_02: They just shouldn't win.
- 1:30:30SPEAKER_02: They just haven't found those ways this year.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, it is true.
- 1:30:34SPEAKER_02: Justin Herbert has looked worse than ever.
- 1:30:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just like they haven't fits that O-line situation really that well.
- 1:30:39SPEAKER_02: So they need to see odds.
- 1:30:43SPEAKER_05: Whoa, you're riding with the Chargers here?
- 1:30:45SPEAKER_02: It's not that bad of a take.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_02: I was thinking about it.
- 1:30:48SPEAKER_01: Like, it has to come together for in one game.
- 1:30:51SPEAKER_01: They can't start 0-8, and there is an easy game they're scheduled the first eight games.
- 1:30:55SPEAKER_01: I think that this is the one that they're gonna do it.
- 1:30:57SPEAKER_05: But I think this is probably the one of, if not the hardest game they have in that eight-game stretch because it's kind of super ball chance.
- 1:31:03SPEAKER_02: Which makes me think they can win pretty easily.
- 1:31:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, they have a I just believe Justin Herbert is gonna put it together this game.
- 1:31:11SPEAKER_01: Led McConkey is coming back.
- 1:31:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he was healthy last week.
- 1:31:14SPEAKER_01: Was McConkey healthy last week?
- 1:31:16SPEAKER_01: I don't believe so.
- 1:31:17SPEAKER_01: But I it's a big piece if they get him back.
- 1:31:19SPEAKER_01: I think O'Marion Hampton's gonna get it going.
- 1:31:21SPEAKER_01: I think the Chargers are gonna win.
- 1:31:24SPEAKER_05: Alright.
- 1:31:25SPEAKER_05: Now we got prime time.
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_05: Sunday night football.
- 1:31:27SPEAKER_05: We finally get to our Lions.
- 1:31:29SPEAKER_05: They're playing in Carolina facing the Panthers.
- 1:31:32SPEAKER_05: Carolina just came off an upset win, an upset loss, sorry, against the Browns, and the Lions had their win over the Jets.
- 1:31:39SPEAKER_05: I think it's gonna be a shootout.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_05: The Panthers defense is eh.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_05: It's okay.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_05: Lions defense already talked about, not good, except for their pass rush.
- 1:31:48SPEAKER_05: And I think it's gonna be a shootout.
- 1:31:50SPEAKER_05: Lions are gonna come out on top, though.
- 1:31:52SPEAKER_05: I think Jameer Gibbs is gonna get going.
- 1:31:53SPEAKER_05: He's gonna make plays like he always does.
- 1:31:55SPEAKER_05: Garrett Goff is gonna keep finding his targets, he'll spread the ball around, he'll find Laporta a few times, he'll find St.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_05: Brown, he'll find Tesla, he'll find James Williams.
- 1:32:03SPEAKER_05: He's gonna spread the ball around really well and be efficient.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_05: Lions are gonna score at least 31 points in this game because what they've done three weeks in a row, and the Lions are gonna win this game.
- 1:32:12SPEAKER_00: It's a sign Krabi Joseph is coming back.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I sure hope so.
- 1:32:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, Bryce Young might throw for 400 yards this week.
- 1:32:19SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:32:20SPEAKER_01: Um I'm picking the Lions too.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_01: This is a big game for the Lions because you have to win these games against the worst opponents when you're in the NFC North.
- 1:32:28SPEAKER_05: When you play the NFC South, you have to win every game you play.
- 1:32:31SPEAKER_01: And they're the Vikings are probably gonna be 4-0 after this week.
- 1:32:34SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm picking the Lions.
- 1:32:36SPEAKER_00: Yep, Lions.
- 1:32:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, JC Horns out.
- 1:32:41SPEAKER_02: Mike Jadson's out.
- 1:32:42SPEAKER_02: You have no starting corners for the Panthers.
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_02: St.
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_02: Brown should absolutely tear up that secondary.
- 1:32:47SPEAKER_05: Not just him and the rest of the receiver corners.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, mainly St.
- 1:32:49SPEAKER_02: Brown.
- 1:32:50SPEAKER_02: He's the best receiver in all.
- 1:32:51SPEAKER_02: J Mo over the top.
- 1:32:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they need to get J Mo on the show.
- 1:32:54SPEAKER_02: Panthers actually have some solid safeties.
- 1:32:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, either way, give me the Lions.
- 1:32:58SPEAKER_05: They they do, I do agree with that, though, Peyton.
- 1:33:00SPEAKER_05: They need to get J-Mo over the top on some big plays, need to get him exploding a little bit more.
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_05: Alright, final game of the day, and then we'll close this thing out.
- 1:33:06SPEAKER_05: Monday night football.
- 1:33:07SPEAKER_05: Falcons at Saints, NFC South matchup.
- 1:33:10SPEAKER_05: I think the Falcons are gonna have a big letdown after dominating the Packers at Lambeau.
- 1:33:15SPEAKER_05: The Saints are a really good team.
- 1:33:16SPEAKER_05: They've just had some unfortunate bounces not go their way, lost by one against the Lions and overtime on a failed two-point.
- 1:33:21SPEAKER_05: They lost to the Raiders by one possession.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_05: I think the Saints are gonna win this game pretty handily on Monday night.
- 1:33:27SPEAKER_01: Dude, who knows with these teams?
- 1:33:29SPEAKER_01: Because I mean I've seen the Falcons get boat raced.
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_01: I've seen the Falcons beat up on the Packers.
- 1:33:34SPEAKER_01: Like they lack consistency.
- 1:33:37SPEAKER_01: So that's why it's hard to pick in the in games like these.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_01: The Saints have at least put out a good you know brand of football for three straight weeks.
- 1:33:46SPEAKER_01: I'm picking the I'm picking the Saints.
- 1:33:48SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_00: I'm with the Saints here just for that reason.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_00: Like I I don't wanna I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta wins, but um you gotta go with the team that's been more consistent overall.
- 1:33:59SPEAKER_00: They play good football.
- 1:34:01SPEAKER_05: Alright, three Saints picks, Faye.
- 1:34:02SPEAKER_05: You gonna sweep the board?
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_05: I'm not gonna sweep the board.
- 1:34:05SPEAKER_02: Whoa.
- 1:34:06SPEAKER_02: You're picking the Falcons?
- 1:34:07SPEAKER_02: I am.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_02: Tell me why.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_02: I will tell you why.
- 1:34:10SPEAKER_02: The Saints have not won a single close game yet.
- 1:34:13SPEAKER_02: Honestly.
- 1:34:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, Drake London's fully healthy.
- 1:34:16SPEAKER_02: He's bad.
- 1:34:17SPEAKER_02: I like him a lot.
- 1:34:18SPEAKER_02: B-John, in my opinion, is the honest the best running back in the NFL.
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_02: Yes, he's better than Jameer Gibbs.
- 1:34:24SPEAKER_02: He's I feel like he's more like a complete bad to him.
- 1:34:27SPEAKER_02: I just mean pennants look good.
- 1:34:30SPEAKER_02: Honestly, they just look good last week.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_02: I am not a pitch against them.
- 1:34:33SPEAKER_02: Give me the Falcons.
- 1:34:36SPEAKER_02: Lone Wolf again for Landon Fahy.
- 1:34:38SPEAKER_01: And Lone Wolf that um Gibbs is worse than B John.
- 1:34:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, B John's better than Gibbs.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_02: I'll die in the hill.
- 1:34:45SPEAKER_05: First Lions fan that I've ever heard say Jameer Gibbs is not the best running back in the NFL.
- 1:34:49SPEAKER_00: You're also talking to Landon Fahey.
- 1:34:52SPEAKER_05: Fair enough.
- 1:34:53SPEAKER_05: Well, that's all the games for this week.
- 1:34:55SPEAKER_05: Got a lot of good ones.
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_05: We're gonna pay attention to that football slate all weekend long, as we always do.
- 1:35:00SPEAKER_05: Gentlemen, thank you all for joining me.
- 1:35:02SPEAKER_05: Again, Peyton Rich, Jake Nudall, Landon Fahey.
- 1:35:04SPEAKER_05: We appreciate you being on here.
- 1:35:07SPEAKER_01: Thank you for having us, man.
- 1:35:09SPEAKER_01: It's always a blast.
- 1:35:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
- 1:35:11SPEAKER_02: Have lots of fun on here debating too.
- 1:35:13SPEAKER_02: It's actually really fun.
- 1:35:15SPEAKER_05: As always, we'll probably have you guys on here again next week.
- 1:35:18SPEAKER_05: It'll probably be the same crew.
- 1:35:19SPEAKER_05: So everyone, be sure to tune in to episode three next week.
- 1:35:23SPEAKER_05: We're gonna be recapping the games we just picked and also picking the following slate of games in college football and the NFL.
- 1:35:30SPEAKER_05: As always, it's gonna be the same deal.
- 1:35:31SPEAKER_05: So stick around if you love your football.
- 1:35:34SPEAKER_05: Thank you all again for listening.
- 1:35:35SPEAKER_05: I made a note back.
