- 0:21Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Very good? Mark, very good. It's a fun time, happy
- 0:27Speaker 2: veteran state. Everybody out there.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the shutdown, I think we've been through fourteen of them.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Has anything ever been accomplished ever by any shutdown by
- 0:37Speaker 1: any party?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Oh? It just I think in this case, it just
- 0:44Speaker 2: shows how corrupt the Snap program was. You know, the
- 0:48Speaker 2: fact that you know, one of my listeners said yesterday,
- 0:52Speaker 2: you know, the Democrats don't control the mainstream meeting any
- 0:56Speaker 2: more than one pays any attention to it. So the
- 1:00Speaker 2: problem this time they had was that all they are,
- 1:03Speaker 2: all these Snap recipients with pink hair and purple hair
- 1:06Speaker 2: and weighing three hundred pounds and nose rings and tattoos.
- 1:09Speaker 2: They were all out on social media posting how angry
- 1:12Speaker 2: they were, and it was easy to round up the stuff. So,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I mean, I thought it was pretty devastating for their
- 1:18Speaker 2: for their their position. You know, Oh, I can't afford
- 1:24Speaker 2: how can I afford to feed my my six kids?
- 1:26Speaker 2: I will be able to buy a tattoo. I well,
- 1:29Speaker 2: you know, and these people loading the guy yesterday, I've
- 1:32Speaker 2: been using them a lot on my show and putting
- 1:35Speaker 2: out Instagram some tiktoks on it. They had a guy
- 1:38Speaker 2: yesterday he said I was gonna have to dip into
- 1:40Speaker 2: my Christmas money. Thank goodness that the snap payments resumed.
- 1:44Speaker 2: He was loading like five cases of soda into the
- 1:48Speaker 2: back of his suv and it looked like a nice
- 1:51Speaker 2: suv too. You know, I think it's it's kind of
- 1:53Speaker 2: a reminder to people, you know, the I guess if
- 1:57Speaker 2: you go to the supermarket a lot, you see it,
- 1:59Speaker 2: you know, but some people don't or they or they
- 2:02Speaker 2: just you know, keep the blinders on and don't don't
- 2:04Speaker 2: worry about it. But I don't know, I don't think
- 2:07Speaker 2: this was you know, the more I think about the
- 2:09Speaker 2: elections last Tuesday, you know, the Democrats were going to
- 2:12Speaker 2: probably win Virginia and New Jersey anyway, and New York
- 2:17Speaker 2: was just Democrats against Democrats. So it was it that bad?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I don't I don't think it really was.
- 2:23Speaker 1: No, but the idea snap. You have forty two million
- 2:27Speaker 1: people on that program. That's a ridiculous number.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It's up forty percent since Biden became president. I mean
- 2:35Speaker 2: he you know a lot of it had to do
- 2:38Speaker 2: with COVID. You know they were just getting first, they
- 2:39Speaker 2: were jacked up. They jacked up all the monthly allot
- 2:42Speaker 2: months and then they then they let you claim that
- 2:45Speaker 2: if you that you weren't quote unquote working, so you
- 2:48Speaker 2: got it. So these people go back to work, or
- 2:50Speaker 2: they decide to work under the table, and they keep
- 2:52Speaker 2: getting the money. I saw Brooke Rollins, the Secretary of Agriculture,
- 2:56Speaker 2: said it's gone from I they got twenty billion in
- 3:00Speaker 2: twenty twenty, in twenty two thousand, year two thousand to
- 3:04Speaker 2: now it's one hundred billion. That's a little above the
- 3:07Speaker 2: rate of inflation.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Hey, the Trump arrangement syndrome. You've been following this story
- 3:15Speaker 1: at Jimmy Kimmel's wife, who, yeah, went ballistic screaming at
- 3:20Speaker 1: family members, don't how dare you vote for President Trump?
- 3:22Speaker 1: My husband is fighting him and your voting isn't her
- 3:26Speaker 1: husband supposed to just be doing a comedy show.
- 3:28Speaker 2: How do they get themselves so worked up? It's you know,
- 3:33Speaker 2: it's a cult. You know, the Democrat Party has become
- 3:38Speaker 2: a cult. And you know you're a Trump arrangement syndrome
- 3:41Speaker 2: is some kind of fashion accessory, like the purple hair.
- 3:46Speaker 2: You know. Did you see the guy in Chicago, Raymond Lopez,
- 3:50Speaker 2: the Alderman you know too. He represents a Hispanic district.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I think it's back of the yards and he so
- 3:56Speaker 2: two of his constituents were killed, a jeweler and his son.
- 4:00Speaker 2: They tried to stop a guy from stealing a necklace
- 4:04Speaker 2: and the guy shot shot both these guys, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 2: just kill them for over a gold necklace. And Lopez
- 4:10Speaker 2: put out, he said, hey, you know all your pain,
- 4:12Speaker 2: where are all the pink and purple haired ladies coming
- 4:15Speaker 2: out to demonstrate against this guy? My constituent's getting killed.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I thought it was beautiful, Yeah, but this Trump derangement syndrome,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you know the guy? What is it about this guy
- 4:26Speaker 1: that said them up? Is it that he's everything that
- 4:29Speaker 1: tried to stamp out like the old fashioned nineteen fifties
- 4:32Speaker 1: macho American kind of a.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Five I think I think that has a lot to
- 4:36Speaker 2: do with it, you know. I mean, I think people
- 4:38Speaker 2: from the Northeast especially, you know, kind of kind of
- 4:40Speaker 2: relate to the guy because he's he's like he's like
- 4:43Speaker 2: one of us, you know, and that's that's what that's
- 4:47Speaker 2: his whole strength. And actually in all of Middle America,
- 4:50Speaker 2: not just the Northeast, and these people just think they're
- 4:53Speaker 2: they're beyond all that. We have this judge in Boston,
- 4:58Speaker 2: his name was Mark Wolfe, and he just he was
- 5:01Speaker 2: a retired he's seventy eight. He was a senior status
- 5:04Speaker 2: and he retired in a big huff and had a
- 5:07Speaker 2: big piece in the Atlantic the other day about how
- 5:11Speaker 2: I am I can't take working for trumpety more and
- 5:14Speaker 2: I can't speak out. Yeah, I mean, the guy is insane.
- 5:17Speaker 2: He's just he's got trumped arrangement syndrome. Mark I was
- 5:21Speaker 2: forced to put out something from a from an FBI
- 5:24Speaker 2: file from nineteen eighty three when he was leaking information
- 5:29Speaker 2: to the to the mafia about about the weather Hill Gang,
- 5:33Speaker 2: and he didn't know, he was just trying to brag.
- 5:35Speaker 2: It was what Jerry and Julie used to call an
- 5:37Speaker 2: unconscious stool pigeon. And he would talk to these guys
- 5:40Speaker 2: and they'd run back. And so he's now he's making
- 5:43Speaker 2: himself out like he's this hero prosecutor. And he was,
- 5:45Speaker 2: and he was, as Jerry and Julia used to say,
- 5:48Speaker 2: an unconscious stool pigeon. And I got it all. I tweeted.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I tweeted out the whole thing yesterday, the FBI file
- 5:55Speaker 2: on this guy. And he's just a he's just such
- 5:57Speaker 2: a but he's a All these judges are crazy, you know,
- 6:01Speaker 2: the you know, the the joke about judges. What's the
- 6:03Speaker 2: difference between a federal judge and God? What? God doesn't
- 6:07Speaker 2: think he's a federal judge.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Make sure you follow how we car on Twitter. Great
- 6:13Speaker 1: stuff there. You're in Boston. You got a crazy left
- 6:17Speaker 1: wing kook of a mayor's socialist contrade. So give us
- 6:20Speaker 1: some advice. How are we going to get through this?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Call the moving van, that's what he's in Boston. And
- 6:29Speaker 2: if you've got any real estate, especially commercial real estate,
- 6:32Speaker 2: sell you know, even to take a loss because the
- 6:35Speaker 2: you know, whatever loss you take today is going to
- 6:37Speaker 2: be worse tomorrow. And I think Nanni is worse than
- 6:42Speaker 2: than Michelle Woo. I really do. I mean, this guy,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I there's there's there's not going to be any rains
- 6:50Speaker 2: on him. I don't think, is there.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Well, everybody's appointed this from the Deblasio administration. So we
- 6:56Speaker 1: got through Deblasia. It wasn't good, but we got through
- 6:58Speaker 1: eight years. Aham, we'll get through that. Well, you're laughing
- 7:00Speaker 1: at me. We'll get through this.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Well we no, yeah, but I mean, you know the
- 7:07Speaker 2: Blasio was insane, but you know he was. You know,
- 7:10Speaker 2: there were there were some checks and balances on there
- 7:12Speaker 2: Are there any checks and balances on this guy? Is there?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Is there anybody left on the city council who's going
- 7:17Speaker 2: to stand up to him? No?
- 7:18Speaker 1: Actually, they just voted in a lot more woke idiots
- 7:21Speaker 1: on the city council.
- 7:22Speaker 2: That's right. I mean, yeah, So Burrell he's gone. He
- 7:25Speaker 2: was he was. You know, I don't know how much
- 7:27Speaker 2: you can do, you know, one out of fifty for
- 7:30Speaker 2: fifty five. But I mean at least he was out
- 7:32Speaker 2: there to you know, you know, beat the drums against him.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I mean, who's going to do that? Now? That's the
- 7:37Speaker 2: problem I got in Boston. We're down to like two
- 7:40Speaker 2: people out of thirteen on the city council who you know,
- 7:43Speaker 2: we'll say it will you know, speak speak out.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Okay, But you still live and work in Boston. It's okay, right,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I mean you're still there.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Well, I'm there for five months and twenty nine days.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I'm in Florida for the other six months.
- 8:00Speaker 1: If I went to Boston right now and walking around,
- 8:02Speaker 1: it seems fine, doesn't it.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, it's it's it's just not what
- 8:08Speaker 2: it used to be. I mean, the restaurants there. I mean,
- 8:12Speaker 2: it's it's you know, it's like it's like they said,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I think it was Hemingway said about going bankrupt first gradually,
- 8:18Speaker 2: then suddenly you know you'll notice you'll notice restaurants, you know,
- 8:23Speaker 2: like the marginal restaurants will will go and and you know,
- 8:26Speaker 2: the marginal neighborhoods will start to slip, and you know
- 8:29Speaker 2: it won't be you won't notice it on you know,
- 8:31Speaker 2: Park Avenue or something for I don't think for a while.
- 8:35Speaker 2: But it's I mean, who's who's left in the middle class.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I mean, you know the how many far rockaway neighborhoods
- 8:43Speaker 2: are left in New York City?
- 8:44Speaker 1: Mark, Well, you're right, not a lot. But well, thanks
- 8:48Speaker 1: for cheering us up.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Wait, I go through the same thing in Boston. Now
- 8:53Speaker 2: we have like two hundred and fifty precincts, and like
- 8:56Speaker 2: maybe fifty of them are still you know, majority normal Americans.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Oh all right, this is getting very depressive.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Mark.
- 9:05Speaker 1: All right. Well, Hey, everybody get Howie Carr's latest book,

- 9:29Speaker 2: nineteen eighties.
