- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with our radio. Hey guys, welcome to the almost Famous podcast.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Ben is on the trip that he has been talking
- 0:12Speaker 1: about for weeks, the golf Trip with Chris Harrison and
- 0:15Speaker 1: Wells and Orlando. So I am joined today by my
- 0:20Speaker 1: wonderful co host Ari Liondyke Bachelor twenty two. Guys, thanks
- 0:28Speaker 1: for having me, Ashley, appreciate it all. We always love
- 0:32Speaker 1: having you. You're always a fun interview. Um. You guys,
- 0:35Speaker 1: you and Lauren just celebrated your fourth anniversary in Hawaii.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You guys have a house on Hawaiian and you spent
- 0:43Speaker 1: like about a month there. Usually guys spend about a
- 0:46Speaker 1: month whenever you go out there, right, Um, yeah, this
- 0:49Speaker 1: time was like I think two or three weeks, and
- 0:51Speaker 1: you have to make it worth it, you know, when
- 0:53Speaker 1: you travel with kids, little kids, it's like you can't
- 0:56Speaker 1: just do a short trips, so we try to plan,
- 0:58Speaker 1: you know, a good amount of time. Yeah, it was awesome.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We actually spent some time at this wellness retreat, which
- 1:04Speaker 1: is hilarious. By the way. The first thing they did
- 1:07Speaker 1: was give us like a body assessment and apparently I'm overweight,
- 1:11Speaker 1: so too you know, cut up a little bit, get
- 1:16Speaker 1: back to the bachelor. Uh you know, wait, which is
- 1:18Speaker 1: about so I got fifteen pounds lose? I guess is
- 1:22Speaker 1: this like then the cool Kim in show nine Stranger.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I love it weight perfect nine Perfect Strangers. It's exactly
- 1:29Speaker 1: like that. Oh it was so funny. I was so hungry.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It was literally just like ground up pineapple, and like
- 1:38Speaker 1: it's exactly like that with the smoothies. Were they spiked?
- 1:44Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know, but it was pretty funny.
- 1:46Speaker 1: We actually went down to a different resort so we
- 1:48Speaker 1: could have French fries one day, but I don't know,
- 1:51Speaker 1: it was fun. Oh my gosh. Okay, so you're not
- 1:53Speaker 1: locked down or anything, but what is your daily routine
- 1:56Speaker 1: out a wellness retreat? It kind of makes me worried
- 1:58Speaker 1: that the people there are going to be like too
- 2:00Speaker 1: hippie dippy, and I'm like, guys, my brain will not
- 2:03Speaker 1: let me get there. I just want to paint a
- 2:05Speaker 1: picture for you. It was, you know, obviously, very beautiful,
- 2:08Speaker 1: very zen, quiet. Everyone is wearing like linen, like earth tones,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and then Lauren is wearing like bright bikini tops and
- 2:19Speaker 1: people were just like they couldn't even it was just hilarious.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It was. It was just a real interesting place. Um,
- 2:26Speaker 1: but I will say I knocked. I knocked it when
- 2:29Speaker 1: we first got there, and then by the end of
- 2:31Speaker 1: the stay we're there for three nights. I actually really
- 2:34Speaker 1: enjoyed it. It was a nice kind of get away
- 2:36Speaker 1: from the kids because we haven't really had that for
- 2:38Speaker 1: ourselves in a long time. Um, and I think I
- 2:41Speaker 1: didn't actually lose some weight. So there you did they
- 2:44Speaker 1: like take your b M I yes, Oh my god,
- 2:50Speaker 1: well are you look fantastic? I can never imagine anybody
- 2:52Speaker 1: saying that to you. But I'm also assuming that like
- 2:56Speaker 1: this is the kind of place there's no TVs in
- 2:57Speaker 1: the hotel rooms. There was actually okay, but you know,
- 3:01Speaker 1: they had like a like activity lists for us every day.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It was hilarious. It was like very scheduled. We had
- 3:08Speaker 1: barely any free time. It was a lot of it was.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It was just hilarious, but it was much needed. And
- 3:14Speaker 1: I still suggest that people go and maybe try it
- 3:17Speaker 1: out because it was still nice. Right. Yeah, yeah, she
- 3:20Speaker 1: liked it, so we're good. So this was the fourth
- 3:23Speaker 1: anniversary retreat for you guys. It was so low time
- 3:28Speaker 1: because you had the three kids staying with your friends
- 3:31Speaker 1: Bella and DLin Lambert. Yes, how DLin are like the
- 3:38Speaker 1: sweetest couple there. You know, they're just I don't know
- 3:42Speaker 1: that they had a blast watching them, honestly. We kept
- 3:45Speaker 1: checking in with them. They did such a good job.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So um, hats off to them because they really kind
- 3:50Speaker 1: of saved the day and watched them for us. That's
- 3:52Speaker 1: so awesome. So that they don't have kids, but they
- 3:56Speaker 1: were all of a sudden gifted three children to watch.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Did it make them Did it feel like birth control
- 4:02Speaker 1: for them? Or are they? Are? They run? No? I
- 4:05Speaker 1: feel like they really want to be parents, so I
- 4:07Speaker 1: think they're you know, they're trying, and I think they are.
- 4:11Speaker 1: We're just like up for the task, you know, honestly,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and they're the sweetest. They're so patient with them and
- 4:17Speaker 1: the kids love them. So I think they actually had
- 4:20Speaker 1: a good time. So I think it was like a
- 4:22Speaker 1: win win for both of us. Uh are the other
- 4:26Speaker 1: big thing that you had at the beginning of the year,
- 4:29Speaker 1: in addition to your fourth anniversary, which can you believe
- 4:32Speaker 1: it's been four years? It's wild it's gone by like that.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But I think that happens when you have kids, and
- 4:38Speaker 1: it's just time is flying by, honestly, and it's just
- 4:42Speaker 1: been like The Bachelor seems almost like a dream now
- 4:45Speaker 1: because it was, you know, over four years ago and obviously, um,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know, season twenty two. Gosh, I don't even know
- 4:52Speaker 1: what season we're on right now, but it's it just
- 4:53Speaker 1: feels like we yeah, we met that way, but it's
- 4:57Speaker 1: almost unbelievable now to see where we're at now. So
- 5:00Speaker 1: it's just kind of it's funny to look back. Well, Okay,
- 5:04Speaker 1: so what I was saying. In addition to your anniversary,
- 5:06Speaker 1: you also have Peacocks the Traders out that debut the
- 5:12Speaker 1: second week of January, and it's it's a contest show
- 5:17Speaker 1: where basically you are put with a whole bunch of
- 5:21Speaker 1: other reality star contestants and some American what they call
- 5:26Speaker 1: the American Um, like they're pro gamers. What does that
- 5:31Speaker 1: mean to be a pro gamer? Yeah? They split it
- 5:34Speaker 1: up into people who are really good at gameplay and
- 5:37Speaker 1: then also, um, people who are really good at reality
- 5:40Speaker 1: TV reality reality TV personalities that might have a little
- 5:46Speaker 1: treacherous history. Okay, and so you put that all together, Um,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you know, you live in a castle in Scotland, for
- 5:55Speaker 1: a month and you have to uncover who the traders are,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and every day someone either gets murdered or banished. Is
- 6:03Speaker 1: the gameplay, um, and you're you're also doing these these
- 6:07Speaker 1: missions to gain money for the collective pot, which at
- 6:10Speaker 1: the end, if there's a faithful left they split it,
- 6:14Speaker 1: or if there's a trader with amongst them, the trader
- 6:16Speaker 1: gets all the money. So that's kind of the premise
- 6:18Speaker 1: of the game, is like to uncover the traders so
- 6:21Speaker 1: they don't get to the end of the game. But
- 6:22Speaker 1: every every day there's somebody murdered. Correct, So every day
- 6:27Speaker 1: you sit at a big roundtable and you guys all
- 6:29Speaker 1: vote on who you think the traders are or a
- 6:33Speaker 1: trader and try to banish them. Um. So the whole group,
- 6:37Speaker 1: you know, you know, comes up with theories and ideas
- 6:41Speaker 1: of who a trader could be, and then they vote
- 6:43Speaker 1: somebody out and that person is banished. And then that evening, Um,
- 6:47Speaker 1: somebody gets murdered. The traders get to select who gets murdered,
- 6:50Speaker 1: so two people go home per day. Essentially, is the
- 6:54Speaker 1: murder just say walking out the door moment or is
- 6:58Speaker 1: there something more dramatic about it? I mean, yeah, you're
- 7:02Speaker 1: you're issued a death warrant that says like, hey, you've
- 7:05Speaker 1: been murdered, and that's basically the end of your game. Um,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but yeah, it was insane because it's crazy when you
- 7:13Speaker 1: put a group of people together and you try to
- 7:16Speaker 1: figure out who the traders are and how quickly people
- 7:19Speaker 1: bandwagon and like tunnel vision and gang up on somebody.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Essentially you have nothing to go off of other than
- 7:27Speaker 1: their personality or maybe like an inkling you have or
- 7:31Speaker 1: so it's a really interesting social experiment and how people
- 7:35Speaker 1: when you put them together, how they kind of pity
- 7:37Speaker 1: themselves against each other, which is I mean, it's kind
- 7:40Speaker 1: of hard to watch back on some of the moments,
- 7:42Speaker 1: to be honest, but yeah, there really is much to
- 7:46Speaker 1: go off of other than like first impressions and little
- 7:48Speaker 1: clues here and there. Did you find yourself being like
- 7:52Speaker 1: that's him, he's a trader, like immediately or did you
- 7:55Speaker 1: try to give it more thought. Well, you know, here's
- 7:58Speaker 1: the thing. It's like, it's really interesting because the loudest
- 8:01Speaker 1: voices in the room typically got murdered. So I was
- 8:07Speaker 1: like really like quiet in the beginning of the game
- 8:09Speaker 1: because I was like, Okay, I don't want to make
- 8:12Speaker 1: big waves because the people who were very opinionated and
- 8:15Speaker 1: we're like, actually, as a trader, I know it. I
- 8:18Speaker 1: saw the way she looked at me, or you know whatever.
- 8:20Speaker 1: You know, people would be like okay, and then if
- 8:23Speaker 1: I was wrong, they'd be like, well, he must be
- 8:25Speaker 1: a trader because he's pointing the finger at actually, so
- 8:27Speaker 1: let's get him out next next round, or you would
- 8:30Speaker 1: get murdered by the traders. So the best gameplay in
- 8:34Speaker 1: the beginning, I feel like, was to kind of lie
- 8:36Speaker 1: loo and kind of observe more or less um and
- 8:40Speaker 1: let people kind of take each other out and eliminate
- 8:42Speaker 1: each other until kind of towards the end. To be honest,
- 8:46Speaker 1: who is the bigger drama queen of the cast? Is
- 8:49Speaker 1: it Brandy Glanville or Ryan Locktey. Well, definitely Brandy. Ryan.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Ryan's the coolest dude. He's like so chill, he's so funny, um,
- 9:01Speaker 1: super down to earth. I really enjoyed spending time with him.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Brandy is very opinionated, hilarious, um, but she is like
- 9:10Speaker 1: all about controversy and stirring the pot. So just complete
- 9:14Speaker 1: opposite ends of the spectrum. Really, I thought that perhaps
- 9:17Speaker 1: Ryan was like a secret drama queen, which is why
- 9:19Speaker 1: I put him in that answer. You know, I wanted
- 9:21Speaker 1: him to like surprise us all, not be like that
- 9:24Speaker 1: laid back dude who like talks like this. Yeah, want that,
- 9:28Speaker 1: That's who he is. Okay, it's a Dutch show. Did
- 9:33Speaker 1: you get any pointers because you were Dutch? Did you
- 9:36Speaker 1: get like a little and easy in there? Honestly, yes,
- 9:40Speaker 1: because I got to I watched the entire Dutch season.
- 9:44Speaker 1: They only had subtitled a few episodes for the cast,
- 9:47Speaker 1: so you know, I got to watch the end, which
- 9:50Speaker 1: was really important to know understand the game UM. So
- 9:54Speaker 1: that I think definitely helped because I watched a Dutch
- 9:57Speaker 1: version of the Belgium version, which I can understand both
- 10:00Speaker 1: Dutch and Belgium. So it was like, you know, for me,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I think I had a little advantage going in UM.
- 10:07Speaker 1: But the disadvantage actually the celebrity cast, the reality stars.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I think we're in a little bit of a disadvantage
- 10:13Speaker 1: because we have this preconceived notion about us UM and
- 10:17Speaker 1: the other half of the cast had not been on
- 10:19Speaker 1: television before, so they kind of went in kind of
- 10:22Speaker 1: having a little bit of like a vibe of like, oh,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you know, Brandy could be a good trader because you
- 10:28Speaker 1: know she can backstab people easily, or you know, like
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know Ari e Oh he was on The Bachelor
- 10:33Speaker 1: and he flipped flopped at the end. He's okay with
- 10:37Speaker 1: holding a secret. Oh my gosh. That thought process. Well,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I mean, you kind of have very little to go
- 10:43Speaker 1: off of, so you kind of go off of anything
- 10:45Speaker 1: you can. So you're offered this role. Take me into
- 10:49Speaker 1: the room that you and Lauren had the discussion in
- 10:53Speaker 1: which you were going to leave for a month and
- 10:55Speaker 1: play a reality game and she was going to stay
- 10:58Speaker 1: home with the three kids. Yes, So I think it
- 11:03Speaker 1: came at a time when the baby started getting a
- 11:05Speaker 1: little easier and Lauren was really keen on going back
- 11:09Speaker 1: to Virginia Beach and spending time with family. So she's like, Okay,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you go film the show because it's like a minimum
- 11:17Speaker 1: of I would say, like five days, but like a
- 11:19Speaker 1: maximum of just over a month. So she's like, why
- 11:23Speaker 1: do you go film the show and I'll hang out
- 11:24Speaker 1: with my family in Virginia Beach. So we all flew
- 11:26Speaker 1: to the East Coast. We agreed that I would get
- 11:29Speaker 1: to do it. Um, and I think it was good too.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think I think that we're at the point where
- 11:35Speaker 1: we I mean, I need a little break. She needed
- 11:38Speaker 1: a little break, so she really leaned on family and
- 11:40Speaker 1: I got to go do the show. So I think
- 11:41Speaker 1: it was really good for both of us. You needed
- 11:43Speaker 1: a little break from what parenting. I was like, I'll
- 11:50Speaker 1: take I'll go and film this show. Yeah, sure, why not?
- 11:53Speaker 1: What age do you find it starts to even out
- 11:56Speaker 1: a little bit? Because when I saw you in Vegas
- 11:59Speaker 1: in November, I think I was maybe just getting out
- 12:03Speaker 1: of like a very torturous phase with Dawson, and now
- 12:08Speaker 1: I'm feeling so much relief. One We've gotten a part
- 12:12Speaker 1: time manny and it's been a godsend. But the other
- 12:16Speaker 1: part is that I just think that he's I don't
- 12:20Speaker 1: I think he's less frustrated within himself because you know,
- 12:23Speaker 1: he's crawling and he's communicating better and all that. So
- 12:26Speaker 1: for me, I would tell moms and I know every
- 12:28Speaker 1: child is different, but like I think when you hit
- 12:31Speaker 1: ten and a half ish months, you're like, Okay, it's
- 12:35Speaker 1: starting to become fun and not as much, of course
- 12:38Speaker 1: a challenge, but just not as like torturous to your soul. Yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I would say for you know, new parents out there, like,
- 12:45Speaker 1: don't be ashamed to get help, like, yeah, you know,
- 12:48Speaker 1: especially if you work from home, like worst, you know,
- 12:51Speaker 1: we work from home, so you need help. I think
- 12:53Speaker 1: whether it's your parents or whether that's a part time
- 12:55Speaker 1: manny or whatever, I don't think, you know, don't be
- 12:58Speaker 1: ashamed to get help. I feel like there's a little
- 13:00Speaker 1: stigma with I think, for sure, when you work from home,
- 13:04Speaker 1: you're like, oh, I should be able to do it
- 13:05Speaker 1: all if I'm here, and you can't. You cannot. You can't,
- 13:09Speaker 1: especially with twins. So and I also say I was
- 13:12Speaker 1: for me at least, I feel like it gets a
- 13:14Speaker 1: lot easier when you can communicate with the babies, Like
- 13:17Speaker 1: we finally got to the point where I can ask
- 13:19Speaker 1: them something and they'll tell me yes or no, And
- 13:22Speaker 1: that is like huge because then you know, they don't
- 13:25Speaker 1: just cry. You can be like are you hungry and
- 13:28Speaker 1: then they'll say yes, and you're like, okay, you're just hungry,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you know, yeah, that sounds nice. That'll be the next step.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And I'm sure that, like you know, people are like
- 13:37Speaker 1: actually thought the hardest part was like between seven and
- 13:40Speaker 1: ten months for Dawson, it was, but I'm sure every
- 13:42Speaker 1: kid is different. Where your kids, did you find that
- 13:45Speaker 1: there was like a similar span of time because you
- 13:48Speaker 1: have three to go off of. Yeah, I say, like
- 13:52Speaker 1: the newborn phase when you're not sleeping, you know so,
- 13:55Speaker 1: and I would say, you know, the big milestones when
- 13:58Speaker 1: they sleep through the night. Obviously that's a big that's
- 14:00Speaker 1: a big sigh relief. Um. And then I would say, yes,
- 14:05Speaker 1: like when they're big enough to walk around and want
- 14:08Speaker 1: stuff but they can't talk yet. I think, so you're
- 14:10Speaker 1: kind of in that phase where you're gonna start seeing
- 14:13Speaker 1: that like he wants to communicate with you, but he can't,
- 14:15Speaker 1: so then he gets frustrated. So then when the communication
- 14:19Speaker 1: picks up, like right, we do sign language at the
- 14:22Speaker 1: dinner table, so they say more, they say all done, um,
- 14:26Speaker 1: and and that kind of helps too because then you're like,
- 14:28Speaker 1: you know, any time you can communicate is like huge
- 14:31Speaker 1: for me. So I would say it's going to get
- 14:34Speaker 1: easier for you the more you transition into that. So
- 14:38Speaker 1: light at the end of the tunnel, Well, thank you
- 14:40Speaker 1: enough about me. Let's go back to the show because
- 14:43Speaker 1: I do find the show quite interesting because I want
- 14:46Speaker 1: to I want to add a little bachelor twist to this.
- 14:50Speaker 1: If there was a bachelor contestant of all of them,
- 14:53Speaker 1: not just from the seasons you were involved in that
- 14:55Speaker 1: you can imagine being a trader in the show or
- 15:00Speaker 1: just in life. Oh day, I thought, how do I
- 15:09Speaker 1: make this podcast juicy? Yeah? From from all seasons? Well,
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's so hard. You're about to make an enemy. Okay, Well,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I would say, who would make a good faithful would
- 15:22Speaker 1: be Jojo? I feel like Jojo would be great on
- 15:24Speaker 1: this show. I don't know why, because I've been asked
- 15:27Speaker 1: this a couple of times. I have not been asked
- 15:29Speaker 1: who would make a good trade? Um, But it have
- 15:33Speaker 1: to be you know, to be a good trader, not
- 15:35Speaker 1: only do you have to be able to lie to
- 15:37Speaker 1: people to their face, you also have to be very convincing.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So it takes somebody. I think that, man, I don't
- 15:46Speaker 1: even know. I'm going to make an it. Ben would
- 15:48Speaker 1: not be a good trader. I'm going to tell you that.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I don't know. Ben could be sneaky, you know he
- 15:53Speaker 1: does like he does this thing on the show where
- 15:56Speaker 1: we like make up stories about the cast of girls
- 15:59Speaker 1: when we just see their pictures, and he can really
- 16:02Speaker 1: embellish and he can just like really make up a
- 16:06Speaker 1: story convincingly. But yeah, I mean, but yes, you know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: on the surface, You're right, Ben is not the person
- 16:13Speaker 1: you think that trader. Okay, when I think is great
- 16:17Speaker 1: about this game, like I think that it's not about
- 16:21Speaker 1: who's good at lying and deceiving. I think it's really
- 16:24Speaker 1: if you if you think of it just as a game,
- 16:27Speaker 1: like if you're playing Mafia with your friends, you'll kind
- 16:30Speaker 1: of understand the gameplay. You know, it's just about having
- 16:33Speaker 1: a good poker face. So I almost feel like and Chris,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and Chris is my friend. I feel like Chris Harrison
- 16:39Speaker 1: would make a good trader because he would just be
- 16:42Speaker 1: calm and he would be the same he could he could,
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know. Basically, it's like essentially acting, and I'm a
- 16:49Speaker 1: terrible actor, so I wouldn't make a good trader, even
- 16:52Speaker 1: though I was a trader at the end of the show. Um, well,
- 16:55Speaker 1: spoiler alert, No, it's okay. I mean, all all episodes
- 16:59Speaker 1: are there, you can binge watch it now. But I
- 17:03Speaker 1: think Chris made a good trader only because I feel
- 17:06Speaker 1: like he could pull it off. I can see him
- 17:09Speaker 1: doing that. He does have a great poker face. He
- 17:11Speaker 1: could be a part of the most ridiculous situation in
- 17:15Speaker 1: the entire world and still pretend like it's serious. Totally
- 17:19Speaker 1: like same face, just like very professional. And I feel
- 17:23Speaker 1: like if he handled he could do that for a
- 17:26Speaker 1: month straight. I feel like he could definitely pull it off.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I feel like you could do it too. You know
- 17:30Speaker 1: who came to my head Chad Johnson from Jojo season. Yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: but here's the thing. He's kind of a dick, and
- 17:41Speaker 1: so people would him, well, yeah, you have to be
- 17:45Speaker 1: likable as well, you know what I mean, because like, yeah,
- 17:51Speaker 1: you would just get banished, you know, like Brandy. That's
- 17:54Speaker 1: the thing that was I think Brandy's downfall. She's so
- 17:59Speaker 1: um intense that people are like, you got to be
- 18:02Speaker 1: a trader or you know, we just you know, even
- 18:06Speaker 1: if you're not a trainer, we kind of don't want
- 18:08Speaker 1: to hang out with you for a month's drain. You
- 18:13Speaker 1: got the boot. I feel like Chad would fall in
- 18:16Speaker 1: that same category. Okay, And now I have a more
- 18:18Speaker 1: Bachelor integrated question. What Bachelor contestant would you at least
- 18:23Speaker 1: want to be part of your team? So like not
- 18:25Speaker 1: a trader, but like you wouldn't want to be working
- 18:28Speaker 1: with in that environment. Um, maybe want Pablo because he's like,
- 18:33Speaker 1: he's like so offensive and I don't think he doesn't
- 18:37Speaker 1: have like a self awareness, no sensitivity, no sensitivity, that's it. Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I don't know if I could like work with someone
- 18:45Speaker 1: like that, because you would have to be constantly being like,
- 18:47Speaker 1: oh my god, what did you just say? Okay, good,
- 18:51Speaker 1: good answer, good answer. Alright, alright, Well we're gonna go
- 18:57Speaker 1: and talk about headlines right after this, but first we
- 19:00Speaker 1: need to take a quick break. Alright, alright, So usually
- 19:13Speaker 1: Ben reads the headline and I give the story, but
- 19:17Speaker 1: today I'll read the headline, give the story, and then
- 19:20Speaker 1: I need a little bit of your feedback. Okay, okay, alright.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So biggest headline of the week is no surprise, Nick
- 19:28Speaker 1: Bill is engaged to Natalie Joy and we obviously couldn't
- 19:33Speaker 1: be more thrilled. I got to be there for it,
- 19:36Speaker 1: which was really really exciting. Nick called us a couple
- 19:40Speaker 1: of weeks ago and he was like, can you guys,
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm proposing to Natalie. I'm gonna have a big party
- 19:46Speaker 1: at the house afterward, and I'd really love for you
- 19:49Speaker 1: to come, and like my mom, Brandon is like a
- 19:53Speaker 1: cross country trip. But man, we I am so so
- 19:59Speaker 1: happy we went. It was such a beautiful moment. It
- 20:03Speaker 1: was like Nick at his very best. When you know
- 20:07Speaker 1: he's not a very mushy guy, but when he is mushy,
- 20:10Speaker 1: he is so mushy and it'll melt your heart. There
- 20:15Speaker 1: was so many tears from him in Natalie and it
- 20:18Speaker 1: was just the best. I mean, if you guys, I know,
- 20:22Speaker 1: they get a lot of flak for their age gap
- 20:24Speaker 1: out there, like the Bachelor fandom, but like, if you
- 20:29Speaker 1: it's like fifteen ish years, okay, why mine's mine's ten
- 20:34Speaker 1: and eleven some some months. Yeah, and do you find
- 20:38Speaker 1: it to be at all a thing for you guys?
- 20:41Speaker 1: And the only time, the only time it becomes a
- 20:43Speaker 1: thing is like if Lauren's like, hey, we should have
- 20:45Speaker 1: more kids, and I'm like, I don't want to be
- 20:48Speaker 1: I'm already kind of an old dad. I don't want
- 20:50Speaker 1: to be a super old dad, you know what I mean,
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm already forty one. So I think that is a thing.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And then also like a little bit like pop culture,
- 20:58Speaker 1: like old movies and stuff. I would say pop culture
- 21:01Speaker 1: is probably the big thing at least if I if
- 21:05Speaker 1: I was in a relationship with somebody like a decade
- 21:07Speaker 1: younger is probably like, oh man, you're still young. You
- 21:09Speaker 1: don't remember this. Like I do that with like our
- 21:12Speaker 1: employees at Audrey's all the time. I'm like, do you
- 21:14Speaker 1: guys remember two thousand two? And they're like I was two,
- 21:17Speaker 1: And I'm like, sucks for you. You didn't get to
- 21:20Speaker 1: live in the pinnacle of pop culture. Was wild to
- 21:25Speaker 1: shut down. She was like, that was nine, okay, So
- 21:31Speaker 1: just like it was just the best night. And I
- 21:33Speaker 1: guess I'll paint a picture of what Nick did real quick.
- 21:38Speaker 1: He rented out a warehouse, but first he went to
- 21:41Speaker 1: dinner with Um, Victoria and Gregg, because Victoria and Natalie
- 21:47Speaker 1: are super close, like best friends. So they fly out
- 21:51Speaker 1: from Nashville to like go to this movie premiere with
- 21:54Speaker 1: them because the thing is they're gonna meet Tom Hanks
- 21:57Speaker 1: at the movie premiere. I think it's funny to be
- 22:00Speaker 1: because like Auto came out a week earlier, so like
- 22:03Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure the premiere would have been like a
- 22:05Speaker 1: week or two earlier. But whatever, Natalie went with it.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So Um, they went to a nice dinner. She had
- 22:12Speaker 1: to like get all dressed up because they were going
- 22:14Speaker 1: to be at a big event. And then they take
- 22:18Speaker 1: car to this warehouse and at the warehouse, Nick has
- 22:24Speaker 1: hired extras to stand outside in line with a velvet
- 22:29Speaker 1: rope and yeah, and a good bodyguard or a bouncer. Bouncer.
- 22:36Speaker 1: So they get there, they gat of the car and
- 22:38Speaker 1: people are getting their names check off the list. They
- 22:40Speaker 1: even have like a purse check because they're like, oh,
- 22:42Speaker 1: we're not allowing, you know, we don't want like phones
- 22:45Speaker 1: or anything in here, because Nick didn't want her to
- 22:47Speaker 1: have her purse on her shoulder during the proposal, which
- 22:50Speaker 1: is such an awesome little detail that he thought of.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Then Natalie is the last in the line, and then
- 22:57Speaker 1: she walks in and the room is totally candle it
- 23:00Speaker 1: she's the only one on the floor. Everybody else has
- 23:02Speaker 1: gone like to like a secret like alleyway. And then
- 23:05Speaker 1: Nick goes upstairs to this balcony so he can basically
- 23:09Speaker 1: watch her watch his proposal on the big scream. So
- 23:13Speaker 1: he basically taped his proposal just like speech because he
- 23:18Speaker 1: knew he'd be too emotional to get through it, and
- 23:20Speaker 1: he wanted to actually say like all the things that
- 23:23Speaker 1: he said in it. And it was beautiful. I did
- 23:27Speaker 1: post my favorite line from it, and I what they
- 23:30Speaker 1: showed at the after party the speech on like they
- 23:34Speaker 1: projected the speech so we got to see the actual
- 23:36Speaker 1: proposal and it was so it was so good. The
- 23:39Speaker 1: line is this, he goes, you know, I can't wait
- 23:42Speaker 1: for to be the um. You know, I can't wait
- 23:43Speaker 1: to start a family with you. He goes, it's mind
- 23:45Speaker 1: blowing that you get to be the mother of my children.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And the way that he just kind of sobs after
- 23:52Speaker 1: saying that was the most touching. It was amazing. Uh yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 1: and then he walks, you know, after the proposal, he
- 24:00Speaker 1: is okay, like I'm gonna walk down the stairs now,
- 24:02Speaker 1: and then he comes down and oh, it's just a
- 24:05Speaker 1: very beautiful moment. And I'm really glad that Jared and
- 24:09Speaker 1: I could be part of that night in the smallest way.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Uh yeah. And the ring. The ring is absolutely insanely stunning.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's an eighteen carrot yellow gold engagement ring from Brilliant Earth. Yeah,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you guys can go and look at the pictures. They're
- 24:26Speaker 1: obviously out there. There's plenty of engagement content out there,
- 24:30Speaker 1: So if you guys want to see what I've described,
- 24:32Speaker 1: it's there. Very good. That's cool, very very good. Car.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I know, okay, Nick, I know all right. The other
- 24:44Speaker 1: engagement party that happened this week, we were very disappointed
- 24:48Speaker 1: that we couldn't stay in California before. It was Dean
- 24:51Speaker 1: and Kalin's definitely had fomo because Tanya and Becco it
- 24:56Speaker 1: was there, and um, we wanted to be part of
- 25:00Speaker 1: know their special day too, but I didn't. We didn't
- 25:02Speaker 1: want to leave Dawson with my parents for a couple
- 25:04Speaker 1: more days. Uh there it was just of course beautiful
- 25:09Speaker 1: for them too, and the food was amazing. They talked
- 25:13Speaker 1: about it in their People magazine. They're going for comfort food,
- 25:16Speaker 1: grilled cheese and stuff. Can you believe that we have
- 25:21Speaker 1: so many, like so many mary married bachelor couples coming up? Yeah? Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I mean I'm I'm catching up just from listening. I
- 25:33Speaker 1: didn't even know that, So that's pretty cool. I'm so
- 25:36Speaker 1: out of touch Nick and Natalie and then like Ben
- 25:39Speaker 1: and Jess. They're not like real bachelor couples, right, but
- 25:42Speaker 1: I still feel like we're getting like a lot of
- 25:44Speaker 1: bachelor couples that are like getting married, like down the row,
- 25:48Speaker 1: are still together, like you know, Dad, and Caitlin. Who
- 25:51Speaker 1: would have thought that they would last four years when
- 25:54Speaker 1: we watched them on Paradise. It's amazing and they're gonna
- 25:57Speaker 1: spend the rest of their lives together at so cool.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I do like them as a couple. I feel like
- 26:03Speaker 1: I feel like they compliment each other. And I feel
- 26:05Speaker 1: like she's kind of down for anything, Like she's like,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I'll live in a van, I'll travel with you all
- 26:09Speaker 1: over the world. Like she's like so easy going, and
- 26:12Speaker 1: she's like a very good partner for Dean, you know.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I just feel like they just are a really good match.
- 26:19Speaker 1: They are. It's so cute. I love them together. Tasha
- 26:22Speaker 1: Adams teases new relationship on TikTok and Bachelor Nation is
- 26:27Speaker 1: seeking out. So about a month or so ago, she
- 26:34Speaker 1: posted a TikTok that basically said that she was single,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and now she's posting a TikTok where it's like when
- 26:43Speaker 1: the new guy that you're seeing asked about your dating
- 26:46Speaker 1: history and then she shows her time on the show,
- 26:51Speaker 1: and now Bachelor Nation in the comments is being like,
- 26:54Speaker 1: oh my god, does this mean that you have a
- 26:56Speaker 1: new man? Spill the tea. Yeah, we love it, so
- 26:59Speaker 1: happy for you, But She hasn't responded to any of
- 27:02Speaker 1: these comments. Do you think this is just a fun
- 27:03Speaker 1: TikTok or do you think that that she's trying to
- 27:05Speaker 1: soft launch here? I feel like it's a soft launch,
- 27:09Speaker 1: but I do also I love Tasha first of all.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Can I just say that cool? The best person? I
- 27:15Speaker 1: love her so much? Um, But yeah, I mean I
- 27:19Speaker 1: think that when you're in the public eye and you're
- 27:22Speaker 1: dating it's you, you want to just kind of take
- 27:25Speaker 1: the whole pressure of announcing unless you're sure that you're
- 27:32Speaker 1: just like head over heels, you know, because you don't
- 27:34Speaker 1: want to have just like expose somebody to that that
- 27:41Speaker 1: you know, I would say lime light, but like it
- 27:44Speaker 1: can affect a relationship, you might as well just like
- 27:45Speaker 1: keep it private until you both know, Like okay, it's
- 27:48Speaker 1: almost like telling your parents, you know. It's like you
- 27:50Speaker 1: kind of date a little bit until you really are
- 27:53Speaker 1: like this girl's like really cool, like and then I'm
- 27:56Speaker 1: going to introduce her to my parents. I feel like
- 27:57Speaker 1: that's kind of like the analogy. Um, if you're in
- 28:01Speaker 1: the public eye, I get that. Okay, Well, I feel
- 28:04Speaker 1: like Tasia, it's just gonna date someone famous. I feel
- 28:08Speaker 1: like she's the next person from Bachelor Nation that one
- 28:12Speaker 1: is going to debut a relationship with the celebrity. Is
- 28:17Speaker 1: that just in my head I can see that, like
- 28:21Speaker 1: only because it's not like people who you know, are
- 28:24Speaker 1: like seeking that. I think maybe that you can just
- 28:26Speaker 1: find a little bit more common ground with someone who
- 28:30Speaker 1: has also a lot of attention on them, so that
- 28:33Speaker 1: it's not like, I don't know, like for for you
- 28:38Speaker 1: know this, I don't know this might sound. I don't
- 28:41Speaker 1: know how this is gonna come across. But like, let's
- 28:43Speaker 1: say you have a lot of attention online and you know,
- 28:45Speaker 1: people stop and say like, hey, it's really I really
- 28:49Speaker 1: loved your season, and then you're dating somebody who has
- 28:51Speaker 1: never been exposed to any of that, it can be
- 28:54Speaker 1: a little awkward. Yeah, So if you if you are
- 28:59Speaker 1: dating somebody that ask a similar level of attention in
- 29:03Speaker 1: the public eye, then it becomes a little easier because
- 29:06Speaker 1: you can sort of chat about it and it just
- 29:09Speaker 1: doesn't feel weird. Did you ever date anyone that was
- 29:12Speaker 1: in the public eye before being the Bachelor in the
- 29:15Speaker 1: public eye? Yeah? Or did you rely on Oh really,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I'm definitely going to keep that one close to my chest. Yes,
- 29:25Speaker 1: I've been on both ends of it, and I feel
- 29:28Speaker 1: like when I was, let's say, coming off of the
- 29:30Speaker 1: Bachelorette and I was trying to date somebody, if it
- 29:34Speaker 1: was very awkward to like stop and take pictures and
- 29:36Speaker 1: then have your dates standing there waiting for you, you
- 29:39Speaker 1: know what I mean. So like I can totally see that.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think I think you're onto something. Maybe tastia is hiding. Yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 1: celebrity Star, can I just dig a little bit deeper.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I'm not going to be disrespectful because I totally get it,
- 29:56Speaker 1: but I just want to know, how did you meet
- 29:58Speaker 1: the celebrity that you went on a couple of day
- 30:00Speaker 1: tw well back in the day. It was a while
- 30:04Speaker 1: back in the day. Yeah, before there was like an
- 30:07Speaker 1: infiltration of d MS. Back in the day I was.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I loved being on Twitter and I was always like
- 30:13Speaker 1: really snarky on Twitter. You know. I think that was
- 30:15Speaker 1: fun for me to just kind of like talk about
- 30:17Speaker 1: shows on Twitter. And this is like before I was
- 30:19Speaker 1: on So it was d M, but it was Twitter
- 30:22Speaker 1: d M S, which I so different. Yeah, it was
- 30:26Speaker 1: it was Twitter d M and that was a little sarcasm.
- 30:30Speaker 1: This person was like, I'm in l A and I
- 30:33Speaker 1: happened to be in l A two and I was like,
- 30:35Speaker 1: it was Valentine's daying I was like, okay, well it's
- 30:37Speaker 1: Valentine's Day. I don't have a date. You don't have
- 30:39Speaker 1: a date. Meet me at the beach. This person met
- 30:42Speaker 1: me at the beach and it was a really short relationship.
- 30:45Speaker 1: It was very awkward. And I still see them every
- 30:49Speaker 1: now and then on you know, social and it's just
- 30:52Speaker 1: like I had dodged a huge bullet. One day, I'll
- 30:58Speaker 1: reveal to you privately who okay, yeah, privately, we'll do it.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I'll reveal one to then. Okay, okay, So let's move
- 31:06Speaker 1: on to our next hot topic, which actually one of
- 31:09Speaker 1: your ex is is involved in this. To Courtney Robertson,
- 31:13Speaker 1: she is going to be making an appearance on Zach's
- 31:16Speaker 1: season of The Bachelor. She in Victoria Fuller and Tajuan
- 31:21Speaker 1: you know, the star of Bachelor in Paradise so I
- 31:24Speaker 1: love so much, are going to be hosting what it
- 31:28Speaker 1: looks like some sort of like modeling group date. What
- 31:32Speaker 1: do you think that the three of them are there
- 31:34Speaker 1: because they have modeling background, and Victoria, I remember correctly,
- 31:39Speaker 1: had some like epic model walk during Peters season. Oh,
- 31:46Speaker 1: this is actually perfect of well. I it's cool that
- 31:50Speaker 1: Courtney is back on because I feel like she is
- 31:52Speaker 1: such a great personality and I feel like she is
- 31:55Speaker 1: good for the show. You never know what's going to
- 31:57Speaker 1: come out of her mouth. She's very witty. Um. Yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 1: it has to be regarding modeling because that's Courtney's background.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And I feel like Courtney and Victoria are, in my
- 32:08Speaker 1: mind a little similar, you know, on how they're portrayed
- 32:10Speaker 1: on the show. One thousand percent. It's like they're both
- 32:14Speaker 1: so hot. They're like unrelatable hot. You're like, I can't
- 32:20Speaker 1: ever be like her. Um, I just want to watch her.
- 32:23Speaker 1: And they have the same sort of sarcastic humor, which
- 32:27Speaker 1: can come across as like villainous but also hilarious at
- 32:31Speaker 1: the same time. Right right, Yeah, that's cool. I'm really happy.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I'm really happy for Corney. That's awesome. Yeah, I like
- 32:38Speaker 1: that too. All right. Our last headline for the day
- 32:51Speaker 1: is Jesse Palmer says this season is less drama and
- 32:55Speaker 1: more emotionally charged. I think this is not a very
- 32:59Speaker 1: good headline for Okay, they're literally not even saying this
- 33:04Speaker 1: is the most dramatic season. Ever, we've already been worried
- 33:08Speaker 1: about Zach being the lead, and now they're like, you
- 33:11Speaker 1: know what, we didn't get a lot of drama, So
- 33:14Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy watching a love story with this
- 33:17Speaker 1: guy that you guys think is poring. I feel bad.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I feel bad saying this, but I'm just saying we're
- 33:26Speaker 1: all thinking, he says. This is what Jesse says. It's
- 33:29Speaker 1: all about the love story in the romance and a
- 33:32Speaker 1: little bit less drama. The women are really into Zach,
- 33:35Speaker 1: which we've heard otherwise, um from Ben's inside sources. And
- 33:40Speaker 1: Zach is so emotionally mature, and he's a guy that's
- 33:43Speaker 1: not afraid to wear his emotion on his sleeve, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: he's very, very intentional. And this is easily the most
- 33:48Speaker 1: emotional show that we've had in the franchise. It's emotionally charged.
- 33:53Speaker 1: He's looking for someone to be his best friend and
- 33:56Speaker 1: spend the rest of his life with. Blah blah blah blah. Um.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'm worried that they don't have a lot of drama
- 34:03Speaker 1: because the girls actually aren't really into him and aren't
- 34:07Speaker 1: fighting over him, and like they don't see like everybody
- 34:09Speaker 1: else as a threat. What do you think? I mean,
- 34:13Speaker 1: I think more about there. I feel like they're maybe
- 34:18Speaker 1: losing a little bit of fan base because they do
- 34:20Speaker 1: need to bring in the love story storry. I get that.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I know. I think they thought this headline would go
- 34:26Speaker 1: over well because people like, oh yeah, I want to
- 34:27Speaker 1: see a love story. I want to see a live story.
- 34:29Speaker 1: But I think people just want to see a love
- 34:30Speaker 1: story with Tyler Cameron, not us so bad. I do
- 34:38Speaker 1: not have something against him. I'm just trying to speak
- 34:41Speaker 1: from my point, like from like the fans point of view.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And I feel really awkward because I'm going to meet
- 34:49Speaker 1: Zach soon and I think that he must be like
- 34:51Speaker 1: the sweetest guy. He truly has not shown anything but
- 34:54Speaker 1: like being a gentleman on the show. I think everybody's
- 34:57Speaker 1: just concerned about him pulling off the lead role. Yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 1: I mean, like you're gonna stick thirty women in a
- 35:07Speaker 1: house with a guy. They're going to be into him
- 35:09Speaker 1: after at least after a few weeks. Let's be honest, like,
- 35:15Speaker 1: you know, uh, you guys. I think you guys said
- 35:17Speaker 1: the same thing about me, So I do think. I
- 35:21Speaker 1: don't think not, I no, not. When you were announced
- 35:24Speaker 1: we were like all thrilled that there was like some guy.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Like it was kind of like fresh nostalgic blood. It
- 35:29Speaker 1: was like a weird combination of like old school back.
- 35:33Speaker 1: We love that you were an old school bachelor. Yeah. Yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 1: And I think maybe that's what their angle is, you know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: is to kind of bring it back, because I was
- 35:42Speaker 1: thinking about that the other day when you know, when
- 35:44Speaker 1: we watched shows that are out right now like F
- 35:47Speaker 1: Boy Island and um Groove Hotel, you know, the ones
- 35:51Speaker 1: I wanted, Like there's like they're really purposeful in like, Okay,
- 35:55Speaker 1: F Boy Island is not going to take each other.
- 35:57Speaker 1: It's not gonna be a serious show. We'reridiculous, you know.
- 36:01Speaker 1: But I feel like The Bachelor, like the best part
- 36:05Speaker 1: of about The Bachelor is I think the romance it is.
- 36:09Speaker 1: It's true. It's true, it's true, you know, and the
- 36:12Speaker 1: drama is fun. But I do I do feel like
- 36:16Speaker 1: to make it more of old school, an old school vibe,
- 36:19Speaker 1: they need to lead with the romance, and obviously drama
- 36:22Speaker 1: will ensue. You know. Maybe that's just they're just coming
- 36:26Speaker 1: out of from a different angle. Yeah, all right, we
- 36:29Speaker 1: will see. Maybe they surprises us all this season could
- 36:33Speaker 1: be the biggest surprise of them all. Now, that would
- 36:35Speaker 1: be a good headline. We should do pr for the Bachelor. Jesse,
- 36:40Speaker 1: You're gonna go out in the press store and you're
- 36:42Speaker 1: gonna say this is the biggest This season is the
- 36:44Speaker 1: most surprising yet because lots of people have their doubts. Anyway,
- 36:52Speaker 1: we love the show, and I'm sure they're going to
- 36:54Speaker 1: figure this out. They chose him for a reason. Yes,
- 37:00Speaker 1: but you don't watch it anymore, do you? No? Do
- 37:07Speaker 1: you keep up enough to like kind of follow conversation.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I mean I have, I've like tuned in here and there.
- 37:16Speaker 1: I watched the end of Clayton's season. Clayton actually lives
- 37:19Speaker 1: in Scustle now. Trying to get him to join my
- 37:22Speaker 1: real estate group because I'm like, you need to be
- 37:23Speaker 1: a realtor. Do you want to have a handsome man
- 37:26Speaker 1: realtor group? I mean that has an angle to it.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's actually a really good idea. You're gonna get a
- 37:34Speaker 1: lot of single ladies looking for houses, just a whole
- 37:38Speaker 1: bunch of ex bachelors on my team. I tried to
- 37:41Speaker 1: get Jason Mesnick, but he's like, I don't know why
- 37:43Speaker 1: he won't leave his company and join mine. Anyways, that
- 37:45Speaker 1: would be such a smart idea. I know, I was
- 37:49Speaker 1: thinking I had this whole idea behind it. Marketing wise,
- 37:52Speaker 1: we'll see. I think Clayton will join our group. But
- 37:58Speaker 1: but I do I do feel like I will start
- 38:02Speaker 1: watching if I see the trailer, Like I haven't seen
- 38:05Speaker 1: the trailer yet. Have you seen it? It has come
- 38:07Speaker 1: out yet. Yeah, people are worried about that too. Oh no, yeah,
- 38:13Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like it was it's gonna
- 38:15Speaker 1: be time when you die back in. I think that
- 38:17Speaker 1: I think I will probably watch this season just because
- 38:21Speaker 1: I like the Bachelor more than The Bachelor because of
- 38:24Speaker 1: you know, the women. Think. Yeah, the women are just
- 38:27Speaker 1: I love how they just can't handle it. The men
- 38:31Speaker 1: seem to be able to keep it and keep their
- 38:33Speaker 1: cool a little bit more. So I probably will watch
- 38:36Speaker 1: this season just because I feel like I do need
- 38:37Speaker 1: to get back into it. Okay, all right, well, Ari,
- 38:40Speaker 1: if you do watch it, let us know so we
- 38:42Speaker 1: can have you on and you can give us all
- 38:45Speaker 1: the thoughts. And I'd love to obviously have you back
- 38:48Speaker 1: as co host. If Ben is ever on another golf trip,
- 38:52Speaker 1: sounds good. But right now we're going to sign off,
- 38:55Speaker 1: and do you remember how to do this? Until next time,
- 38:59Speaker 1: I've been Ashley. I've been a good job. Bye. Followed
