Panthers Trade for Schmid After Cup Loss | Florida Panthers News
The Florida Panthers just pulled off a bold move, trading for goalie Akira Schmid from Vegas—right after losing the Stanley Cup to them. In exchange, they shipped a third-round draft pick. With a contract standoff brewing over star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and a rough playoff-less season behind them, the Panthers are clearly reloading. Schmid, 26, brings solid stats: a 2.45 GAA and .898 save percentage, plus two shutouts last season. This trade could be the spark they need to bounce back.
