- 0:20Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:25Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan O'Malley along with
- 0:29Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and Jerry called well, today is
- 0:36Speaker 1: gray Day, May sixteenth, two, Thy twenty five. Congratulations, you've
- 0:41Speaker 1: made it to the end of the week here with
- 0:43Speaker 1: us inside the treehouse. Whether your week has sucked or
- 0:46Speaker 1: it's been great, we'll make it better and we'll do
- 0:50Speaker 1: it together. Trey, how was day two of putting in contacts.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Slightly better than day one?
- 0:59Speaker 1: Baby steps, buddy, baby steps, I'm proud of you. Jerry,
- 1:03Speaker 1: your glasses where I forget? Do you ever do the contacts?
- 1:07Speaker 3: I would like to get some contacts, but I just
- 1:09Speaker 3: recently noticed that I have some fairly decent luggage under
- 1:13Speaker 3: my eyes, so maybe it's a good idea to just
- 1:16Speaker 3: hide that with the frames.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm still waiting for that shoot to drop on my
- 1:23Speaker 1: middle age. I still do not need corrective eyewear at all,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and I'm stunned by that. I really am, dude.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I told you it happened to me in a week
- 1:34Speaker 3: my age on set myopia. I came into work on
- 1:38Speaker 3: a Monday and could see and by Friday, I could not.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Every eye doctor I ever went to said you turn forty,
- 1:46Speaker 2: you're going to be in glasses, and they were wrong.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It was forty two. And even crappier part was it
- 1:51Speaker 2: was three weeks after I quit drinking, and it happened
- 1:58Speaker 2: so fast, like I literally I was like one day,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm like, all of a sudden, I'm just noticed like
- 2:03Speaker 2: I can't read my phone anymore. I'm like, well, this sucks.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I can't drink and I can't see.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I think you guys are suffering from macular degeneration. I
- 2:13Speaker 4: don't know what's going on like mine was. I needed
- 2:15Speaker 4: glasses when I was a kid, and my mom's solution
- 2:18Speaker 4: was just put me closer to the TV. And then
- 2:23Speaker 4: I'm not even making this up, like I decided to,
- 2:25Speaker 4: you know, play football in high school and it was
- 2:27Speaker 4: my freshman year. They had me in a receiver before
- 2:30Speaker 4: they moved me over to the corner. I couldn't catch a
- 2:32Speaker 4: ball to save my life, like I couldn't. And then
- 2:35Speaker 4: at one point the trainer, coach Wolfskille, was behind me
- 2:39Speaker 4: and they had the play card, like the coach was
- 2:41Speaker 4: holding up the index card with the play and I
- 2:44Speaker 4: was squinting, and she literally like waves me over. She's like,
- 2:47Speaker 4: walk with me. We go into the field house and
- 2:50Speaker 4: she shuts the door and there's the eye chart and
- 2:52Speaker 4: she goes read that eye chart and I go, okay.
- 2:54Speaker 1: E and she goes letter on the top right, that's
- 3:01Speaker 1: exactly right. She goes to give me if you couldn't
- 3:04Speaker 1: even get the next.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Line, nope, and she's like, you need glasses. And I
- 3:10Speaker 4: went and got my eye exam and they were like,
- 3:14Speaker 4: we're gonna need you know you play sports, so we're
- 3:16Speaker 4: gonna have to try to get you contacts. Otherwise we're
- 3:18Speaker 4: gonna get those prescription goggles. But they gave me contacts
- 3:22Speaker 4: and I was catching stuff from like behind my back,
- 3:25Speaker 4: and even my coach was like, where did you come from?
- 3:27Speaker 4: I was like, I can see now.
- 3:35Speaker 2: You were the wild thing of Mesquite. I was.
- 3:39Speaker 1: That's pretty awesome.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I was like I couldn't see. I was doing this
- 3:44Speaker 4: the whole time, and like just to watch TV. My
- 3:47Speaker 4: mom's solution was just put him closer. We won't need glasses.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I am surprised I don't need glasses, not just because
- 3:56Speaker 1: of age, but because of how much time I spend
- 3:59Speaker 1: in front of a screen, and I think that's true
- 4:02Speaker 1: for all of us. I'm surprised that we're not now.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I'm surprised kids aren't turning five years old and needing
- 4:09Speaker 1: glasses already. Type of stuff just from like you said,
- 4:12Speaker 1: Raj macular degeneration from too much screen time. But because
- 4:17Speaker 1: of that, because I spend so much time looking at screens,
- 4:20Speaker 1: whether it's computer screen, phone screen, TV screen, I see
- 4:24Speaker 1: lots of news, including exciting things that I can share
- 4:28Speaker 1: with you guys today. For example, Natella, Natella, after sixty
- 4:37Speaker 1: one years, has announced a new flavor in the United States.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Gravy.
- 4:47Speaker 1: No, it's really not. And this is really impressive to me.
- 4:51Speaker 1: In the age of pumpkin spice, spam, mustard flavored ice cream,
- 4:56Speaker 1: Luke Bryan scented candles, Natella has announced a new flavor,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and they've announced it as something pretty straightforward and boring,
- 5:09Speaker 1: coming to store shelves next year. Natella Peanut. So there's
- 5:16Speaker 1: your groundbreaking new flavor from Natella. Chocolate and peanut butter.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Are the makers of nutella amish or they haven't gotten
- 5:27Speaker 4: the news that peanut butter is around.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 5:31Speaker 2: It sounds.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I'm fascinated by this because I always assumed that Natella
- 5:36Speaker 1: was already chocolate and peanut butter until I tried it,
- 5:40Speaker 1: and then I realized, oh, that's not peanut butter at all.
- 5:42Speaker 1: I do not like this. It's whatever, chocolate and hazel nuts.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I do not like hazel nuts. So after sixty years,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they've made the announcement. Now they're going to have Natella peanut,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but not until next year. So in twenty twenty six,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I will finally be happy to eatn A Tella.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I mean, I'll The thought of spreadable peanut butter cups
- 6:07Speaker 3: in and of itself is kind of nice.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Speaking of that, have you had the the Reeses with
- 6:16Speaker 4: the jelly, the strawberry that has strawberry jelly and grape
- 6:19Speaker 4: jelly in the Reese's peanut butter.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I have not had me pre mixed Reese's peanut butter
- 6:24Speaker 1: with the jelly. I have not. I'm old school. I
- 6:27Speaker 1: like to mix them together myself.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Oh no, no, they've taken They've done all the work
- 6:32Speaker 4: for you, Daniel.
- 6:34Speaker 1: That doesn't seem natural to me, because it sounds to
- 6:37Speaker 1: me like there's some serious chemical food engineering going on
- 6:40Speaker 1: to where that that's how does that even work? It's
- 6:44Speaker 1: just really it's just already pre mixed.
- 6:46Speaker 4: It's the peanut butter cup and then you see like
- 6:48Speaker 4: the chocolate and you see the peanut butter, and then
- 6:50Speaker 4: underneath it is a separate section that has the jelly.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Oh it's in the cup.
- 6:55Speaker 5: Mmm.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I thought you were saying it was a jar of
- 6:58Speaker 1: Reese's peanut butter with the jelly in it.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Oh, they do that too, and that's just pretty swirled.
- 7:04Speaker 4: But yeah, you have I know how much you loved
- 7:06Speaker 4: your your recents peanut butter cups as much as I do.
- 7:09Speaker 4: M And I got the I got to I got
- 7:10Speaker 4: the strawberry and the grape last week, and uh, it
- 7:15Speaker 4: was it was a moment. I mean, I started thinking clearer.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I was filled with joy.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Could you see better?
- 7:26Speaker 4: I took my contacts out and my vision was perfect. Uh.
- 7:33Speaker 4: I understood why people smile when a baby laughs. I
- 7:37Speaker 4: just got it all. I understood things. It was that divine.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I mean.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But you also you love uncrustables, right.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Oh, you'd have to be and you'd have to be
- 7:48Speaker 4: a serial killer not to.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I've never I've never I've never had nutella.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Oh my god, it's wonderful. On some toast, It's fantastic.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I have an idea for it treehouse party, but it's
- 8:01Speaker 1: gonna get weird.

- 9:48Speaker 1: is the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Malley, along with Trey Trendholm,
- 9:51Speaker 1: Raj Sharma and Jerry cald Well. All right, everyone, take
- 9:56Speaker 1: a deep breath and bear with me here. All right,
- 9:59Speaker 1: there's a very triggering phrase to all of us inside
- 10:03Speaker 1: the Treehouse Show, gen Z. Just hearing the phrase gen
- 10:09Speaker 1: Z induces an automatic eye roll, So be prepared to
- 10:12Speaker 1: hear all of our eyes roll even harder when I
- 10:15Speaker 1: say gen Z has a new occupational phrase for us
- 10:20Speaker 1: to learn, conscious unbossing, conscious unbossing. Now, this may not
- 10:31Speaker 1: entirely be the fault of gen Z. As the oldest
- 10:35Speaker 1: gen Zers approach their thirties, they're taking a Gwyneth Paltrow
- 10:39Speaker 1: approach to work. Instead of consciously uncoupling from their spouses
- 10:43Speaker 1: like Gwyneth did with Chris Martin. Workplace culture experts say
- 10:48Speaker 1: gen Z is doing conscious unbossing at the office, and
- 10:53Speaker 1: he guesses on what conscious unbossing means.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Quitting Not quite Trey.
- 11:05Speaker 2: They see they don't want to be bosses anymore.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Hang on, that is correct, Good job, Trey. Conscious unbossing
- 11:19Speaker 1: is avoiding management roles to preserve wellness and mental well being.
- 11:26Speaker 1: That's the new occupational phrase gen Z has laid upon us.
- 11:32Speaker 2: What a predicament they're in because they don't want to
- 11:34Speaker 2: be employees and they don't want to be bosses.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Kind of kind of removes all the other options, doesn't it.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I'm going to have an entire economy based on Instagram.
- 11:46Speaker 1: You laugh, But that's kind of what a lot of
- 11:50Speaker 1: them are hoping. I'm not laughing. That's a prediction. Yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of gen Z that thinks their occupation
- 11:56Speaker 1: can just be get ready with me videos.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I think there are more TikTok though.
- 12:03Speaker 1: That would I'd agree with Trey. Yeah, Okay, they're all
- 12:07Speaker 1: laughing at us because they're all on TikTok, not on Instagram.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Uh So, keep that in mind. If you want to
- 12:11Speaker 1: do a really good get ready with me, do it
- 12:13Speaker 1: on TikTok so the kids see it. By the way,
- 12:16Speaker 1: conscious on bossing is not the first occupational phrase we
- 12:20Speaker 1: have heard in recent years. There are many others, and
- 12:23Speaker 1: I decided to look it up to see if there
- 12:26Speaker 1: were any that I was missing, and I found if
- 12:29Speaker 1: you knew occupational phrases that I hadn't heard before. So
- 12:33Speaker 1: let's see if you guys can guess what these occupational
- 12:36Speaker 1: phrases mean. Do you know quiet quitting? Trade? You know
- 12:42Speaker 1: quiet quitting?
- 12:44Speaker 5: No?
- 12:45Speaker 1: Huh, Jerry, you know what it is? Right? Yes? Tell me?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Uh.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Quiet quitting is where you basically just put in exactly
- 12:55Speaker 3: enough effort to get the minimum done so that you
- 12:59Speaker 3: get to the line and that's it.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That is correct. Quiet quitting is the trend where employees
- 13:05Speaker 1: reduce their work effort, limiting themselves to the bare minimum
- 13:08Speaker 1: required by their job description and disengaging from extra tasks
- 13:11Speaker 1: or responsibilities. Have you heard of the phrase bare minimum?
- 13:14Speaker 1: Mondays Raj. Would you like to guess what bare minimum
- 13:18Speaker 1: Monday is?
- 13:20Speaker 4: Do the least amount of work possible on a Monday?
- 13:22Speaker 4: So it goes buying smoothly.
- 13:24Speaker 1: There you go. That one's pretty easy. You got the softball.
- 13:29Speaker 1: This trend describes employees who come to work on Mondays
- 13:31Speaker 1: with the intention of only completing the minimum required tasks. Trey,
- 13:35Speaker 1: are you familiar with rage applying? Not just rage? I
- 13:39Speaker 1: know you're familiar with rage. Are you familiar with rage applying?
- 13:44Speaker 2: Um, that's where they angrily send job applications in.
- 13:50Speaker 1: That is correct. Rage applying describes the emotional process of
- 13:53Speaker 1: applying for multiple jobs simultaneously, often stemming from job dissatisfaction.
- 13:58Speaker 1: And now my personal favorite of the new occupational phrases
- 14:02Speaker 1: from gen Z, grumpy staying. Grumpy staying refers to high
- 14:11Speaker 1: potential employees who remain at jobs despite being dissatisfied, often
- 14:16Speaker 1: hesitant to leave due to various factors.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Mm hmm, Yeah, we just called that a job.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yes, that's why they call it a job. Everybody is
- 14:30Speaker 1: grumpy staying. Yeah, that's why.
- 14:33Speaker 4: That's why there's I mean the casual Friday and happy
- 14:36Speaker 4: hour like, that's that's what you work for.
- 14:39Speaker 1: That's why those exist. There's a reason why everyone gets
- 14:42Speaker 1: so freaking excited about a pizza party.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Yes, so basically we just we've now taken gen Z
- 14:51Speaker 2: and and just created subsections for what really is the
- 14:54Speaker 2: overall parent category, which is disgruntled lazy fucks mm hmm.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you deserve a bell, sir, and gratulations. That's the
- 15:04Speaker 1: phrase that we, as gen X would like gen Z
- 15:07Speaker 1: to learn. Yes, I just learned that one, and that
- 15:11Speaker 1: one's pretty all encompassing. You don't need all the other
- 15:14Speaker 1: sub sets. You just go with that one and you're covered.
- 15:18Speaker 4: And when I when I'm on stage and I go
- 15:20Speaker 4: and I ask a gen z or, like, you know,
- 15:22Speaker 4: what do you do? And the first time I got
- 15:24Speaker 4: it was second I'm in I work for Amazon, So
- 15:26Speaker 4: what do you do at Amazon? So I'm in the
- 15:27Speaker 4: fulfillment department? I said, that sounds wonderful.
- 15:30Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 15:31Speaker 4: He said, when an order comes across my desk, I
- 15:34Speaker 4: fulfill it. And I was like, bitcher and shipping, Uh.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you stuff boxes.
- 15:42Speaker 4: And that's when I looked at him and go, you're
- 15:43Speaker 4: why we lose to China.
- 15:45Speaker 2: That's exactly what I think.
- 15:47Speaker 4: What you said is why we lose to China.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I think that if if someone responds at their job
- 15:53Speaker 1: is fulfillment at Amazon, you need to ask them do
- 15:57Speaker 1: you feel fulfilling. I'm gonna bet his answer is gonna
- 16:01Speaker 1: be no, and he's probably gonna be grumpy about it.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Walk into any Chinese company and go, I'm I'm I'm
- 16:08Speaker 4: grumpy staying and let'd be like no, no, no, You're
- 16:10Speaker 4: about to fly out this window.
- 16:14Speaker 1: That's called flying resignation.
- 16:18Speaker 2: What that's called happy execution.

- 17:04Speaker 1: To advertise right here inside the Treehouse. This is the
- 17:07Speaker 1: Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Maley along with Trey Trenholm, Raj
- 17:10Speaker 1: Sharma and Jerry called. Well, none of us have teenagers,
- 17:18Speaker 1: so this is going to be a very abstract conversation
- 17:22Speaker 1: for us. But if you had a teenager that was
- 17:27Speaker 1: learning to drive, would you give that teenager your old
- 17:31Speaker 1: car and you buy a new one. Or would you
- 17:35Speaker 1: give the teenager a newer car and you keep your
- 17:39Speaker 1: old one?
- 17:40Speaker 2: Tray, Would I give a teenager a newer car and
- 17:49Speaker 2: keep the old one?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Would you rather give a teenager a newer car or
- 17:54Speaker 1: an older car?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Older?
- 17:56Speaker 1: Raj newer or older?
- 17:58Speaker 4: My ex has a dog, so she learned a little
- 18:01Speaker 4: bit like in the parking lot, just a little driving
- 18:04Speaker 4: around the lot. There a little bit in my in
- 18:07Speaker 4: my car, So I would if that was the situation,
- 18:11Speaker 4: I would give her that one and get a new one.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Because it's it's an older car. I would not buy
- 18:15Speaker 4: a new car, all.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Right, So give the team an older car, yes, Jerry,
- 18:19Speaker 1: older or newer.
- 18:20Speaker 3: To the team. That's a hard set of choices. Man,
- 18:24Speaker 3: if it was me, I would just teach them how
- 18:25Speaker 3: to drive in my car and then let them go
- 18:27Speaker 3: get their own.
- 18:29Speaker 1: A dreaded third option, Well, here's a quick heads up.
- 18:34Speaker 1: If you're in the mood or if you're thinking about
- 18:37Speaker 1: giving the old car to your teenager, don't do it.
- 18:42Speaker 1: The reason why is because a new study says not
- 18:45Speaker 1: to pass down that old car to your teenager. Because
- 18:49Speaker 1: teams and cars that are more than five years old
- 18:52Speaker 1: are nineteen percent more likely to die in a fatal crash.
- 18:56Speaker 1: For cars over fifteen years old, it jumps to thirty one.
- 19:01Speaker 1: They say it's because new drivers suck at driving at
- 19:04Speaker 1: the beginning. That part we know, and new cars have
- 19:08Speaker 1: a lot more safety features, things like side air bags,
- 19:11Speaker 1: emergency braking, so the newer cars are safer for them
- 19:15Speaker 1: to learn to drive in. I disagree, and I think
- 19:19Speaker 1: Trey's going to be with me here. I say, give
- 19:21Speaker 1: the kid a really old car so they have to
- 19:24Speaker 1: actually learn how to drive and not to be in
- 19:28Speaker 1: a vehicle that drives for them.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Give them something built in the seventies that is actually
- 19:33Speaker 2: made of steel, you know, and basically indestructible, and they'll
- 19:39Speaker 2: be just fine. Right. It worked well for all of us,
- 19:43Speaker 2: you know.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Well, I mean not so well for the drummer from
- 19:47Speaker 4: def Leopard. He was in an all steel corvette and
- 19:52Speaker 4: he lost his front the eighty seven.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Because I know that that was not even close to
- 19:58Speaker 2: like the seventies.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Oh no, no, I mean that those were boats. My dad
- 20:02Speaker 4: had a bunch of the beauty.
- 20:03Speaker 2: So I said, something in the seventies, not that solid steel,
- 20:08Speaker 2: big like a Blazer or something like that, not a
- 20:11Speaker 2: Corvette and uh, you know, they can hit anything and
- 20:14Speaker 2: they'll be fine. That's right, you know, And unlike the
- 20:16Speaker 2: driver ref Leopard, don't be like five times over the
- 20:19Speaker 2: legal limit and you know you'll probably be okay.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, if you wear five times over the legal
- 20:24Speaker 1: limit and you're driving around like a seventies continental, you're
- 20:27Speaker 1: probably still gonna be fine. Everyone else is gonna have
- 20:29Speaker 1: a hell of a day, but you'll probably be fine
- 20:32Speaker 1: in that vehicle. You'll probably be bruised because there's no
- 20:35Speaker 1: impact or air bag type situation, but you'll be alive.
- 20:39Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm a big fan of give give them
- 20:41Speaker 1: the old car so they actually have to learn how
- 20:44Speaker 1: to drive a car, because new vehicles, it's less about
- 20:47Speaker 1: driving and it's more about controlled entertainment while moving. Because
- 20:52Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I see people driving.
- 20:56Speaker 1: They're in newer vehicles and they're not driving because a
- 20:59Speaker 1: newer vehicle there's too many distractions inside the cars. Every
- 21:03Speaker 1: day I see people driving while looking everywhere except the
- 21:07Speaker 1: road on their phone or looking down at the dash.
- 21:10Speaker 1: They're looking at whatever is on the screen there in
- 21:14Speaker 1: the vehicle and not paying attention in front of them.
- 21:16Speaker 1: If you teach a kid how to actually drive a car,
- 21:21Speaker 1: they will be better for it. A proper foundation. Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm the only one here, but
- 21:28Speaker 1: I would look at it as if I had taught
- 21:30Speaker 1: my child to parallel park, like actually parallel park, not
- 21:34Speaker 1: parallel assisted park. That is an accomplishment. I think as
- 21:37Speaker 1: a parent teaching a child.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I learned I learned parallel park in my first car,
- 21:43Speaker 3: which was a seventy eight Osmobile ninety eight.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh was it blue? I think they were all blue.
- 21:51Speaker 1: It was indeed blue.
- 21:53Speaker 4: The interior of the Lord baysed interior.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Actually it was also blue blue.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Back back when you didn't even necessarily get options on
- 22:03Speaker 1: a car. You went to a car lot and said
- 22:05Speaker 1: I want a car, and I said here, And there
- 22:07Speaker 1: were no trim packages.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It was just car.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Yeah, but I think the blue Valora was like a
- 22:12Speaker 4: limited edition. I was like the Pimp Wagon in seventy eight.
- 22:18Speaker 4: That was the Huggy Bear Deluxe. It came with those.
- 22:27Speaker 1: All right, I take it back. It did have one
- 22:29Speaker 1: trim package.

- 23:19Speaker 1: Long with Trade Trenholm, Bras Sharma and Jerry Caledwell. We
- 23:24Speaker 1: remember it was I think last year Carl Weathers passed away.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Phenomenal actor. He was in The Mandalorian in recent years.
- 23:35Speaker 1: He was a hell of an eighties action star, opposite
- 23:38Speaker 1: of Sylvester Stallone and the First Couple of rock in
- 23:42Speaker 1: the First couple of Rocky Movies. He was opposite of
- 23:45Speaker 1: Arnold Schwarzenegger and the eighties classic Predator. And he was
- 23:50Speaker 1: also Happy Gilmore's golf instructor and Happy Gilmore. So a
- 23:56Speaker 1: beautiful career by Carl Weathers, But sad news to report
- 23:59Speaker 1: to that another death inside the Happy Gilmore family. Morris
- 24:06Speaker 1: the Alligator from Happy Gilmore died. Yes, that means Morris
- 24:11Speaker 1: the Alligator outlived Carl Weathers and also makes news. They
- 24:17Speaker 1: don't actually know how old Morris the Alligator was. They
- 24:23Speaker 1: estimate anywhere from eighty to one hundred. But yeah, one
- 24:29Speaker 1: of the stars of Happy Gilmore passed away, Morris the Gator.
- 24:33Speaker 1: They don't know exactly how old he was, but again
- 24:37Speaker 1: it's somewhere between eighty and one hundred. And he too,
- 24:40Speaker 1: has a very impressive career in Hollywood. From nineteen seventy
- 24:44Speaker 1: five to two thousand and six. He was in films
- 24:47Speaker 1: that included the cult horror classic Alligator in nineteen eighty
- 24:52Speaker 1: so a bit of type casting there, but he broke
- 24:55Speaker 1: out of that easier than Adam West broke out of
- 24:59Speaker 1: being type cast as Batman because Morris the Alligator also
- 25:04Speaker 1: went on to do Interview with a Vampire in nineteen
- 25:08Speaker 1: ninety four, Doctor Dolittle two in two thousand and one,
- 25:12Speaker 1: among some others. Morris spent his twilight years at a
- 25:15Speaker 1: place called the Colorado Gator Farm, and they planned to
- 25:19Speaker 1: have him stuffed so he can quote scare small children
- 25:23Speaker 1: for many years to come, and that's what he would
- 25:25Speaker 1: have wanted.
- 25:28Speaker 2: So did either one of them make an appearance and
- 25:30Speaker 2: Happy go More Too. I don't know.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if Carl Weathers had already
- 25:37Speaker 1: passed before they started shooting Happy Gilmore Too. I'm going
- 25:41Speaker 1: to assume he had, because I think Happy Gilmore Too
- 25:44Speaker 1: probably took a couple of weeks to shoot, because I
- 25:47Speaker 1: can't imagine it was a drawn out process or a
- 25:49Speaker 1: whole lot of thinking about plot and stuff or post production.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Pearl Weathers died on February second, twenty twenty four. Okay,
- 25:58Speaker 3: so just over a year ago, got it all right?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 26:01Speaker 1: I don't know if Morris the Gator was able to
- 26:03Speaker 1: get a cameo in Happy Gilmore Too, since he was
- 26:07Speaker 1: in his retirement years at the Colorado Gator Farm scaring children.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I don't know if they were able to loop him
- 26:12Speaker 1: in on that or not.
- 26:14Speaker 3: And if Morris was at least eighty, that means he
- 26:18Speaker 3: was not only did he outlive Curl Weathers, he was
- 26:20Speaker 3: born before Cral Weathers.
- 26:24Speaker 1: All right, So rip to Morris the Gator from Happy Gilmore.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Speaking of legendary Hollywood actors, I have a Don Swayse
- 26:37Speaker 1: siding to report.
- 26:43Speaker 4: He's now working at Arby's.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Well not exactly, Okay, I don't know what we don't
- 26:54Speaker 1: know for sure, or officially, we don't know exactly what
- 26:58Speaker 1: Don Swaysey's been up to. Right in recent years. We've
- 27:03Speaker 1: had some guesses here on the show, not the least
- 27:08Speaker 1: of which was maybe he was taking a turn in
- 27:11Speaker 1: the fast food industry as a manager at a Texas Roadhouse,
- 27:16Speaker 1: which makes sense because his brother was in Roadhouse, So
- 27:20Speaker 1: why not Texas Roadhouse if you're Don Swazey. I was
- 27:25Speaker 1: watching a trailer earlier, this week's trailer for a new
- 27:29Speaker 1: Cohen Brothers movie called Honey Doun't comes out later this
- 27:33Speaker 1: year at starring Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans, among others.
- 27:38Speaker 1: And as I was watching the trailer, I recognized someone's
- 27:43Speaker 1: voice a little bit and kind of in the background.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I'm like that guy that kind of looks familiar? Is
- 27:50Speaker 1: that Don Swazey?
- 27:52Speaker 2: Here?
- 27:52Speaker 1: Take a look. Ain't seen you in a minute?
- 28:00Speaker 4: It?
- 28:02Speaker 1: Oh, are sleeveless, looking like he was plucked right out
- 28:07Speaker 1: of one of the extras on Roadhouse in this new
- 28:09Speaker 1: Cohen Brothers movie Don Swayze and I verified it on IMDb.
- 28:17Speaker 4: How about Yes, that outfit is from when he was
- 28:19Speaker 4: an extra in Roadhouse. You know, when he got the gig.
- 28:22Speaker 4: They're like, we we we can't get your wardrobe, and
- 28:25Speaker 4: he's like, hold my beer.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Also, take these rolls over to Table four.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Man.
- 28:38Speaker 1: It is pretty impressive to hold down two jobs at once.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I mean manager of a Texas roadhouse and having a
- 28:44Speaker 1: speaking part in a Cohen Brothers movie. Don Swayze's career
- 28:47Speaker 1: is really coming along nicely.
- 28:49Speaker 4: And he was he was in the Rookie last year.
- 28:52Speaker 4: He was in an episode of the Rookie with Nathan Gillian,
- 28:54Speaker 4: So he might be he might be, uh, you know.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Stepping into the shoes there you go. Maybe he's getting
- 28:59Speaker 3: ready to come interest on boss.
- 29:01Speaker 4: No. They're like, hey, man, we can't get we can't
- 29:05Speaker 4: get Patrick, you know who. We can get his bethy
- 29:09Speaker 4: looking brother. Depends on how much paid time off he has,
- 29:13Speaker 4: but we can get done.
- 29:15Speaker 1: The irony is Don Swaysey looks like what Patrick Swayzey
- 29:19Speaker 1: would look like if you dug him up.
- 29:27Speaker 5: You're in the Treehouse.

- 29:35Speaker 1: And Don, if you're hearing this, I mean nothing but
- 29:37Speaker 1: respect for you and your family. I appreciate everything you've
- 29:39Speaker 1: done for Hollywood. Also, the table force still needs those walls.

- 30:28Speaker 1: is the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trade Trendholm,
- 30:32Speaker 1: Ros Sharma and Jerry Caldwell. I have to admit when
- 30:35Speaker 1: I saw that trailer earlier this week for the new
- 30:39Speaker 1: Cohen Brothers movie Honey Don't and I saw Don Swasey
- 30:42Speaker 1: appear in one scene in that trailer, I almost fell
- 30:46Speaker 1: out of my chair. I was so excited. I was like,
- 30:48Speaker 1: Oh my godness, Don Swayzey. We spent all that time,
- 30:51Speaker 1: like a year or two ago, talking about Don Swasey
- 30:54Speaker 1: and what other famous Hollywood siblings do, and so to
- 31:01Speaker 1: see him in a movie trailer, I was like, Man,
- 31:03Speaker 1: I'm really excited for him as well. I'm also just
- 31:07Speaker 1: excited because the movie itself looked really good.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Kara is a lucky gal.
- 31:13Speaker 1: She really is. Let me tell you, she knows it.
- 31:19Speaker 1: She knows how exactly how lucky she is.
- 31:22Speaker 4: I was gonna say, also very patient. She is a
- 31:27Speaker 4: very patient young lady. So she'stient with her patient. I'd
- 31:37Speaker 4: love for that to be the case. Like we find
- 31:39Speaker 4: out years later she's just been your nurse's like he's
- 31:43Speaker 4: suffering from a lot of memory loss, and he just
- 31:46Speaker 4: kept calling me his wife, so we kept playing.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Doctor said it was for the best.
- 31:50Speaker 2: She went to school to be a special needs teacher. Correctly.
- 31:57Speaker 1: That was her career for many, many years, working with
- 32:00Speaker 1: special needs children.
- 32:01Speaker 4: And now she's doing it on an island.
- 32:04Speaker 2: And realize, you, but you were a full time job.
- 32:09Speaker 1: That's why you have to get out of that field
- 32:12Speaker 1: as a career, because the personal special needs individual in
- 32:17Speaker 1: her life was taking it and she didn't have to
- 32:19Speaker 1: go to other special needs individuals as a job.
- 32:24Speaker 4: She's the one that came up with the phrase grumpy staying, hey, we're.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Talking about me.
- 32:37Speaker 1: All right. Today is fred Day, May sixteenth, twenty twenty five.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Let's celebrate today with some birthdays because the doctor says,
- 32:45Speaker 1: it's good for me to find joy in things and
- 32:50Speaker 1: to have a purpose. Former tennis star Andy Murray is
- 32:54Speaker 1: thirty eight years old. He is the first british Man
- 32:57Speaker 1: to win a Grand Slam title of more than forty
- 32:59Speaker 1: years when he won the US Open in twenty twelve.
- 33:02Speaker 1: He also beat Roger Federer for the Olympic gold medal
- 33:05Speaker 1: in London in twoenty twelve. Suffice it to say he
- 33:09Speaker 1: will never have to buy a pint again. Jamie Linn
- 33:14Speaker 1: Sigler turns forty four, best known as Meadow soprano on
- 33:17Speaker 1: The Sopranos. She also played herself on Entourage. David Crumholtz
- 33:21Speaker 1: is forty seven. He's the guy that He's the math
- 33:24Speaker 1: guy on the TV show Numbers. He was Goldstein in
- 33:28Speaker 1: the Harold and Kumar movies. He was Barnard to Elf
- 33:31Speaker 1: and Tim Allen Santa Claus movies. So there you go.
- 33:35Speaker 1: He was also a physicist in the Oppenheimer movie. Last year,
- 33:41Speaker 1: retired Baltimore Ravens linebacker Slash Murder suspect Ray Lewis is
- 33:46Speaker 1: fifty Suspect and Slash Emmitt Smith retired Dallas Cowboys legend
- 33:57Speaker 1: Emmitt Smith turns fifty six. Also, let's not forget He
- 34:01Speaker 1: also won Dancing with the Stars. Third season of Dancing
- 34:06Speaker 1: with the Stars. Emmitt Smith the champion. Some people just
- 34:10Speaker 1: have it and he clearly did. And good on Emmitt.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Staying in the sports world, Dan Patrick, former ESPN great,
- 34:19Speaker 1: is sixty nine, now has his syndicated radio show and
- 34:23Speaker 1: he's he's doing just fine. Still the heyday of ESPN,
- 34:28Speaker 1: the Big show. Back in the day in the mid
- 34:31Speaker 1: to late nineties. Every single night I would watch Sports
- 34:36Speaker 1: Center and get my fix of Keith Olberman and Dan Patrick. God,
- 34:39Speaker 1: those are the good days. Yeah, back when I didn't
- 34:42Speaker 1: have to hear all of Keith Olberman's opinions. Other birthdays today.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Staying in the sports world, still famous Kansas City Royals
- 34:55Speaker 1: great George Brett is seventy two. I still remember that
- 34:59Speaker 1: Pine on the bat incident, and he just went crazy.
- 35:05Speaker 1: The crazy thing about that is I was already familiar
- 35:08Speaker 1: with that face because it was the same one my
- 35:10Speaker 1: mom made when I didn't hand her my Masters of
- 35:12Speaker 1: the Universe tray covered in syrup fast enough.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Just when you think you can't get past big pencil
- 35:24Speaker 4: that goes to the Master of the Universe trade with
- 35:25Speaker 4: syrup all over it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: And if We're being honest. The umpire against George Brett
- 35:30Speaker 1: fared way better than I did against my mom. That's true.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Let's see what else do we have. Chas pulm Andary
- 35:40Speaker 1: is seventy three from The Usual Suspects, and analyze this.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Nicholas Hammond from the Sound of Music, he played Friedrich
- 35:48Speaker 1: vond Trap. He's seventy five. He actually grew up to
- 35:52Speaker 1: play the very first live action spider Man. The Amazing
- 35:55Speaker 1: Spider Man aired on TV in the seventies, and so
- 35:59Speaker 1: he was the ode live action Spider Man. Nicholas Hammond
- 36:03Speaker 1: turned seventy five. I remember that movie. I do too,
- 36:06Speaker 1: the bell bottoms and running up the buildings and stuff.
- 36:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I also kind of remember the seventies Captain America movie.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Oh man, I really appreciate everything that Marvel has done
- 36:19Speaker 1: to update those because those are some really really bad movies.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Captain America and Thor showed up on The Incredible Hulk. Oh.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Speaking of superhero movies, if you have not seen it yet,
- 36:35Speaker 1: the new Superman trailer came out yesterday, so I heard no,
- 36:38Speaker 1: it was Wednesday. On Wednesday, the new Superman trailer came out,
- 36:41Speaker 1: So if you have not seen that. I highly recommend it.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I'm very excited. Please God let it be good.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Yeah, and when does it come out?
- 36:50Speaker 1: July eleventh. Okay, are you guys Superman fans? Because my
- 36:55Speaker 1: wife is not. She was, She's more of a Batman girl.
- 37:00Speaker 1: She never really got into like, well, most of the
- 37:03Speaker 1: superhero stuff.
- 37:04Speaker 5: Uh.
- 37:04Speaker 1: She just kind of pretends to for me the uh.
- 37:07Speaker 1: But like Superman, she knows. She wasn't really big on
- 37:09Speaker 1: him because there's not really a huge challenge with him
- 37:12Speaker 1: because he's just, you know, he's Superman. He's already kind
- 37:14Speaker 1: of all powerful. Wasn't as interesting. So are you guys
- 37:16Speaker 1: fans of Superman?
- 37:18Speaker 4: Yeah? Because Batman is just a crazy rich dude who
- 37:22Speaker 4: can have somebody make him gadgets. There's no he has no,
- 37:25Speaker 4: he's not a superhero. He's just a dude with money.
- 37:29Speaker 2: That's all it is.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Like he is a detective with toys. Yeah, but it's his,
- 37:34Speaker 3: it's it's his. I see, I'm not a fan of
- 37:36Speaker 3: the big Blue boy Scout either. I like, you know,
- 37:40Speaker 3: I like the darkness of Batman, the inner turmoil there,
- 37:44Speaker 3: trying to do something good to erase the bad things
- 37:47Speaker 3: that have happened, you know.
- 37:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean, if you shoot him in the face,
- 37:52Speaker 4: he's dead.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Well, that's the thing. Try it.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Nobody.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Nobody shoots him in the face. Everybody tries to shoot.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Him in the chest, and I'm like, uh, he's got
- 38:04Speaker 4: a vest on.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Let's not shoot the hero on the emblem because I'm
- 38:10Speaker 1: pretty sure of the of their entire body, that's the
- 38:13Speaker 1: one part that's gonna be protected because you don't want
- 38:16Speaker 1: that getting scuffed.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you can buff that out right. Yeah, but Superman's
- 38:22Speaker 4: is still I mean, he's still cool man, Like, he's
- 38:26Speaker 4: he can do all the cool stuff. I'm a Smallville guy,
- 38:28Speaker 4: like I love that show.
- 38:30Speaker 5: That was great.
- 38:30Speaker 2: So I grew up on I mean the original Superman
- 38:33Speaker 2: movies with Christopher Reeve. I mean those were yeah, first
- 38:36Speaker 2: superhero movies. I mean they seemed seemed trite compared to
- 38:40Speaker 2: what they put out today, but they were good. Yeah.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think what's going to happen is I think what
- 38:44Speaker 1: James Gunn wanted to do with the New Superman movie
- 38:46Speaker 1: was to bring back more of sort of that throwback
- 38:50Speaker 1: Christopher Reeve's style Superman, and that's supposed to be what
- 38:53Speaker 1: we're gonna get.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Yeah, compared to the dark, brooding, you know stuff. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 2: that's fine.
- 38:59Speaker 1: So yeahs do you realize that ark brooding and sexy
- 39:01Speaker 1: Henrikavill version, Did.
- 39:04Speaker 2: You realize Tara wasn't a Superman fan when she threw
- 39:07Speaker 2: away your underreus or what happened?
- 39:13Speaker 1: Sometimes it's really difficult to learn the truth, especially in
- 39:16Speaker 1: that manner. Those are my favorites.
- 39:23Speaker 5: You're listening to the tree House.

- 40:27Speaker 1: Malley along with Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and Jerry called. Well, Raj,
- 40:31Speaker 1: what was it you were saying in the break? We
- 40:33Speaker 1: were just talking about Superman and the new Superman movie?
- 40:36Speaker 1: What were you just saying about it?
- 40:37Speaker 4: Now? I was saying, link, was anybody a fan of Aquaman?
- 40:40Speaker 4: Because I didn't never understood the character. Now you can talk,
- 40:43Speaker 4: you can summon fish when you need them.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Yeah, he could? He could. Yes, he could talk to
- 40:49Speaker 1: all the creatures in the ocean. I'm with you. I
- 40:52Speaker 1: never I never loved Aquaman. I don't really think anybody did.
- 40:58Speaker 1: To me. He just he looked like a SeaWorld trainer
- 41:02Speaker 1: that that doesn't seem like a superpower to me. I
- 41:06Speaker 1: remember going to SeaWorld as a kid and seeing a
- 41:09Speaker 1: guy and a girl writing dolphins. I'm like, okay, well
- 41:11Speaker 1: that's what he does in the cartoon. I don't really
- 41:12Speaker 1: see what's so special with him.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Yeah, and they're always like anytime they would have the
- 41:15Speaker 4: meeting at the Hall of Justice, like he was there.
- 41:18Speaker 4: I didn't know he could breathe out of water.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Oh he can, absolutely that he could because he had
- 41:24Speaker 1: Uh I remember this correctly. His mom was Atlantean and
- 41:28Speaker 1: his dad was human. So that's how he could breathe
- 41:31Speaker 1: outside the water.
- 41:32Speaker 4: So his his dad banged a mermaid. Yes, basically, yeah, man,
- 41:38Speaker 4: that's mad gross is Yeah.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Well, actually you bring up a good point, because mermaids
- 41:45Speaker 1: are hot from like the waist up. But if you're
- 41:47Speaker 1: doing mm hmm stuffed, then you ysure got to go
- 41:54Speaker 1: through some scales.
- 41:55Speaker 2: But couldn't they They couldn't they like take on human
- 41:57Speaker 2: form for like an eliminate amount of time for they
- 42:00Speaker 2: had to get back in the water.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, they get like going to dry out.
- 42:04Speaker 4: I think you're confusing that with splash.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Now, hang on, let's go to the comic book expert Jerry.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Did Aquaman's mom grow legs when she got it on
- 42:16Speaker 1: with Aquaman's dad or did Aquaman's dad get it on
- 42:19Speaker 1: with a fish? You look it up.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure they were in Atlantis, But as far
- 42:28Speaker 3: as whether or not she was in land form or
- 42:33Speaker 3: fish form, I do not know.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Okay, when you did get an answer on that, I
- 42:38Speaker 1: wasn't a big DC fan. I was. I was a
- 42:40Speaker 1: big Marvel fan. Gotcha? Well, I can understand why, because
- 42:43Speaker 1: you have characters in DC they're screwing fish.
- 42:47Speaker 5: You know.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Ever since the show The Boys came out, that's all
- 42:51Speaker 3: I can think about is the deep that is Aquaman.
- 42:54Speaker 3: That is exactly how I pictured Aquaman getting handyes from
- 42:58Speaker 3: an octopus for me, guys, Yeah, what does that guy
- 43:01Speaker 3: get up to when nobody's watching?
- 43:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Saying, like the game, you have to have to pull
- 43:06Speaker 4: in it half fish lady like that's uh. I don't
- 43:11Speaker 4: know what I don't know what pickup line you used.
- 43:14Speaker 4: I don't know. I just I assume it has something
- 43:16Speaker 4: to do with harder. I don't I don't know. I'm
- 43:19Speaker 4: trying to.
- 43:23Speaker 2: One with a bob and a mackerel.
- 43:28Speaker 4: What do you serve a dinner like minnows.
- 43:35Speaker 1: With the sight of plankton? That is really gross. There's
- 43:46Speaker 1: just no way row that's is That's just really really nasty.
- 43:53Speaker 1: It really does when you really think through it, when
- 43:55Speaker 1: you really think about the logistical side of getting it
- 43:59Speaker 1: on with a mermaid. Yeah, if if if the mermaid's
- 44:04Speaker 1: not sprouting human bits from the waist down, then that
- 44:07Speaker 1: means you're gonna be doing stuff with a fish And well.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Are you or or does you know? Does she just
- 44:15Speaker 2: squid out eggs?
- 44:16Speaker 4: And you just you know, Unless you're David Attenborough, you
- 44:24Speaker 4: can't bring that up.
- 44:32Speaker 1: He's got the fish card. For all things Treehouse, go
