Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on Relatables.
- 0:01Speaker 2: That was the quickest sex she's ever had. You know
- 0:10Speaker 2: what I said? I said, damn right.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. You want to have the title for everything.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Okay, Jake, I am going to expose myself to start.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Finally. Finally? What do you mean? I don't know. Found
- 0:36Speaker 1: to happen.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Found to happen.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Show your true colours.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Well, as some of the baddies know, we have just
- 0:42Speaker 2: came back from a holiday.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:44Speaker 2: My part being in Europe. And I don't want to
- 0:48Speaker 2: tell this, but our name is Relatables for a reason.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 2: When I was away, everyone talks about it in Europe, like, oh,
- 0:56Speaker 2: jet lag, how expensive euros are compared to AUD, like
- 1:00Speaker 2: the food, blah, blah, blah, blah. I haven't heard one
- 1:03Speaker 2: person talk about this, Jake.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Not one. Right, right. Wait, what? So, Europe....
- 1:12Speaker 3: Are you ready? Yeah.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Europe made me a one-pump chump.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Hectic, bro. Was that your fault? What? Was that your fault?
- 1:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Let me preface to start.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Hey, wait a second. Wait a second. Everybody has those times, bro.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I've been known to stop and start frequently.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So, when we're in Australia, my home, I am proud
- 1:51Speaker 2: to say I'm... 15, 20 minutes. Like, I'm proud of
- 1:54Speaker 2: my efforts.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I put in some good sessions.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: And, like, I feel like I've got control too. Like,
- 2:00Speaker 2: I'm not just fucking coming everywhere without, like, a bit
- 2:03Speaker 2: of control.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Get to Europe and, like, it's a Euro something. I'm
- 2:09Speaker 2: feeling sexy.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Every single time I had sex, under 30 seconds, I came.
- 2:16Speaker 1: For real?
- 2:17Speaker 2: One time even, Cassie said that was the quickest sex
- 2:20Speaker 2: she's ever had. You know what I said? I said,
- 2:29Speaker 2: damn right.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. You want to have the title for everything.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I'm not even kidding.
- 2:37Speaker 2: There was one time I came really quickly and I said, fuck,
- 2:40Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with me. Let's go again.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I came again in like a minute.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Wow.
- 2:50Speaker 1: What the fuck, bro? The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Jake Craig, a.k.a.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Daddy.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And my partner in crime, Mr. Orr. Hey, hey, hey.
- 3:01Speaker 1: My partner in one pump chump, Mr. Audie Clark, a.k.a. Mummy.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I gave myself that name. You've got to come up
- 3:09Speaker 2: with something more creative. So you came up with one
- 3:12Speaker 2: pump chump.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Chump.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you have to come up with
- 3:15Speaker 2: something that is on your own, then it can stink.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Okay, okay. End of the episode.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, end of the episode. I'll have a new nickname
- 3:21Speaker 2: for you. It'll probably come up naturally. It'll come up
- 3:23Speaker 2: again in conversation.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Anyway. Uh, so yeah, as you guys, um, probably know,
- 3:31Speaker 1: we've just come back from our separate holidays.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, we have. So we've had a big break. So
- 3:35Speaker 2: if we're a bit rusty, you know why, but I'll
- 3:38Speaker 2: tell you what, Jake, I'm.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Excited to be back.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Although having a holiday is fun. Like I missed in quotes,
- 3:44Speaker 2: our job. Yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Same. I, I had plenty of moments where I was
- 3:47Speaker 1: kind of like, God, I would like to get back. Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So something about, I really miss the routine.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Humans for some reason need routine.
- 3:56Speaker 2: We really do. And like, did you have a bit
- 3:59Speaker 2: more routine being in Canada?
- 4:01Speaker 1: I would say yes, probably more than you. Cause I was,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I was with my mom for two weeks and then
- 4:05Speaker 1: I was driving around like on a road trip for
- 4:08Speaker 1: two weeks. And so the road trip obviously lacked routine,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but it was pretty sick and we were doing awesome stuff.
- 4:16Speaker 1: But when I was at my mom's, the routine I
- 4:19Speaker 1: had was pretty much the same thing every day. I
- 4:22Speaker 1: had a great sleep schedule going nine until like 6 a.m.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It was great. And then I'd wake up and I'd
- 4:30Speaker 1: just like chill. And everything was very slow. And it
- 4:33Speaker 1: did just kind of get to the point where I
- 4:34Speaker 1: was like, oh, I want to get up and do something.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Oh, it gets like that, hey? I'll tell you what
- 4:41Speaker 2: was funny though too was, so Jake was in Canada,
- 4:43Speaker 2: different time zone. I was in Europe, different time zone.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And then our management was in Australia. And having comms,
- 4:50Speaker 2: it was ridiculous because Jake was up in the morning.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I was sleeping.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And then Jake would go to sleep and then it
- 4:57Speaker 2: would be the end of our manager's day. And then
- 4:59Speaker 2: I would wake up and talk to him and then
- 5:01Speaker 2: I would have my whole day and Jake would wake up.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It was like three completely different timelines, like three hour
- 5:06Speaker 2: gaps between conversations all day, every day. It was so funny.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not even good at comms
- 5:13Speaker 1: when we're all in the same time zone.
- 5:14Speaker 2: No. Well, I kind of liked it because I woke
- 5:16Speaker 2: up and a little bit had happened because it'd been
- 5:18Speaker 2: both of your almost whole days.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And then in the morning, I'd do something and then
- 5:24Speaker 2: I would relax because everyone's asleep.
- 5:26Speaker 1: You moved around a lot, eh?
- 5:28Speaker 2: Moved around heaps, eh?
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You guys. I saw, okay, when you guys were at
- 5:36Speaker 1: Sydney Airport when you were leaving, I saw the backpacks
- 5:39Speaker 1: you had, right? The massive backpacks. Was that the only
- 5:42Speaker 1: bags you had?
- 5:44Speaker 2: We did proper backpacking vibe. Big, massive backpack. I had
- 5:48Speaker 2: a 70 litre on the back. Cassie had a 60.
- 5:50Speaker 2: And then just a carry-on, normal-sized backpack you wear to
- 5:53Speaker 2: school on our front.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So you didn't have any wheelie suitcase? Nah, not at all.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Because we were travelling so much. We were moving around
- 5:59Speaker 2: so much. And then a lot of European airlines, they're
- 6:02Speaker 2: stingy as fuck. And some of them go down to
- 6:06Speaker 2: 20 kilos, not 30. Shit, bro. So if you have
- 6:09Speaker 2: like a wheelie one, like a big wheelie one will
- 6:11Speaker 2: get you 30 kilos. But so yeah, I fly it
- 6:13Speaker 2: over there was check baggage was 30, but then a
- 6:15Speaker 2: couple internal ones that went down to 20 kilos and
- 6:18Speaker 2: I had 18 and Cassie had 18 as well or 17.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Oh, so you were chilling. That's fucking, that's those backpacks.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I was like, holy, I didn't know you've got one
- 6:28Speaker 1: full backpack vibes.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I wouldn't recommend it.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Really?
- 6:31Speaker 2: I would recommend it if you wanted to do a
- 6:33Speaker 2: trip like ours. Yeah. But fuck, it's annoying living out
- 6:36Speaker 2: of a backpack like that and then chucking it on
- 6:38Speaker 2: your shoulder. I was going to sell it, but I
- 6:40Speaker 2: think I might just throw the fucker away.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You don't think you'd do another backpacking trip, bro?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Fuck no. It was a necessity to do the backpack
- 6:52Speaker 2: for our trip. However, the backpack fucking sucks ass. I
- 6:57Speaker 2: want to be rich enough to not have to do
- 6:59Speaker 2: that and just taxi everywhere. Because we call it Fair
- 7:02Speaker 2: Food Trains. But the start of today's episode is just
- 7:05Speaker 2: basically Jake and I catching up. We haven't really caught
- 7:08Speaker 2: up about our trips because we were like, save it,
- 7:09Speaker 2: save it, save it. Yeah, we haven't done any sort
- 7:12Speaker 2: of big catch-ups about them.
- 7:13Speaker 1: But yeah, no. I didn't even like living out of
- 7:18Speaker 1: a suitcase.
- 7:19Speaker 2: It gets to you though, hey.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Like five weeks, hey. I don't know. It just.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Let's flip it, actually. What was good about your trip
- 7:26Speaker 2: to start?
- 7:26Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, true. We're just, like, mad focusing on the
- 7:28Speaker 1: stuff we needed.
- 7:30Speaker 2: No, but I feel like it's easier to moan at
- 7:31Speaker 2: the start.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Oh, it's so easy to moan. I love telling people,
- 7:35Speaker 1: everyone goes, how's your trip? And I go, great, but
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm glad to be home.
- 7:37Speaker 2: That's what I say.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So privileged.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So privileged.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Anyway, no, the trip was actually fucking sick. Flight there,
- 7:50Speaker 1: so flight from Sydney to Vancouver is... I don't know,
- 7:54Speaker 1: 14 hours or whatever. And then you get a short,
- 7:57Speaker 1: like 30 minute flight from Vancouver to Kamloops, which is
- 8:00Speaker 1: where my mom is. And I've done it fair few
- 8:04Speaker 1: times now. And every single time you get off the
- 8:06Speaker 1: plane at Vancouver, you've got 40 minutes to your next flight.
- 8:10Speaker 1: So it's actually good. You just kind of like get off.
- 8:12Speaker 1: You don't even have to get your bags. They go
- 8:13Speaker 1: straight to Kamloops. You just like run to the next
- 8:15Speaker 1: flight and then you're there. For some reason, this time
- 8:18Speaker 1: me and Beth get there and we had this, we
- 8:22Speaker 1: had an eight hour layover. Eight hours. We had an
- 8:25Speaker 1: eight-hour layover, bro.
- 8:26Speaker 2: That is so annoying for such a short flight after.
- 8:30Speaker 1: It was such a long layover that my mum could
- 8:35Speaker 1: have driven to Vancouver, picked us up, and driven back,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and we probably would have got home just before we
- 8:41Speaker 1: actually got there.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Did you not know prior or did something happen?
- 8:45Speaker 1: I have no idea. We were getting emails saying that
- 8:48Speaker 1: our flight had moved. and then it just kept getting
- 8:51Speaker 1: moved back and back. They must have been overbooking flights
- 8:53Speaker 1: and then bumping us for some reason because we're Aussies.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:58Speaker 1: So we did that, and I didn't sleep on the
- 9:01Speaker 1: flight there.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Was it a red-eye?
- 9:04Speaker 1: No. So you leave at like 9 a.m. Australia time.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So you're not tired. You're just not tired at all.
- 9:09Speaker 1: And so you leave at 9 a.m., and then we
- 9:13Speaker 1: landed at 6 a.m. in Canada, and it was the
- 9:17Speaker 1: same day we left somehow, date-wise anyway. And so we
- 9:21Speaker 1: went and I was like, we're going to a lounge.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck. We're paying to get into
- 9:24Speaker 1: a lounge. So we paid like 120 bucks to get
- 9:27Speaker 1: into this lounge. Amex got us a discount, by the way.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I saw the payment. I think Jake must have been
- 9:33Speaker 2: starting his holiday.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I was like, let's go. Amex got us a fucking discount.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And so we sat there and just fuck. We sat
- 9:43Speaker 1: there for so long. Anyway, spent five days hanging out
- 9:48Speaker 1: with family. In little town Chase. Yep. And then we
- 9:51Speaker 1: went on our road trip and we did an episode
- 9:53Speaker 1: talking about what our um trips were going to be
- 9:56Speaker 1: i seem to remember but bro canada is like it's
- 10:01Speaker 1: a very nice country.
- 10:02Speaker 2: It looks beautiful where you went like the road trip.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Very nice country highly recommend it we um we my
- 10:10Speaker 1: big my favorite thing was just like the mountains because
- 10:12Speaker 1: we don't have them here Yeah. Something cool about a
- 10:15Speaker 1: hike opposed to a bushwalk, eh? Yeah, it was really
- 10:18Speaker 1: cool driving through them. And then also when you get
- 10:20Speaker 1: to a place and you're like, oh, you go on
- 10:22Speaker 1: all trails and there's these hikes around where it's like,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I don't know, 10K hike with 800 meters of elevation.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You're like, fuck.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Honestly, I'll give you props. I didn't think you'd have
- 10:34Speaker 2: that dog in you to do the hikes you were doing.
- 10:36Speaker 1: We ended up just doing a bunch of them, eh?
- 10:38Speaker 2: They were actually sick. You were doing like 15, 20K
- 10:40Speaker 2: hikes and me and Cassie were like, oh shit, they
- 10:42Speaker 2: still go on fucking ham.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It was so gnarly. I went full performative as well.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Like I got there, right? Before we go on our
- 10:49Speaker 1: road trip, I went and bought some trail shoes that
- 10:52Speaker 1: I probably never would have bought if I wasn't going
- 10:54Speaker 1: to do that.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And then I bought- You actually need them though on
- 10:56Speaker 2: a hike, I found out.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Hell yeah. It's slippery.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 1: So trail shoes- And then I bought a little cross
- 11:04Speaker 1: body bag because I didn't have a proper backpack, little
- 11:07Speaker 1: cross body bag. And then I bought the pants that
- 11:10Speaker 1: you can zip the halfway off and have shorts if
- 11:12Speaker 1: you want them. So I like full performative tourist hiker.
- 11:18Speaker 1: And I don't even give a shit. I was like,
- 11:20Speaker 1: this looks hectic for photos, bro.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Was it busy there hiking or not really?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Not really. Only like, only one of the hikes we
- 11:28Speaker 1: did was super busy. The first one we did, was
- 11:32Speaker 1: in this place called Squamish and it was called the
- 11:34Speaker 1: Sea to Sky. And so you can gondola up if
- 11:36Speaker 1: you want. And we were going, you know what? Fuck it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: We'll walk up. And so we go to pay. You
- 11:43Speaker 1: got to pay. Sorry, no, you got to pay to
- 11:46Speaker 1: use the gondola. So we're going to walk up and
- 11:47Speaker 1: gondola down. And we get there and we go to
- 11:50Speaker 1: pay for the gondola down. And she goes, oh, you
- 11:52Speaker 1: can pay when you're up there and it's better to
- 11:54Speaker 1: do that just in case you don't make it. And
- 11:56Speaker 1: so we walked out and we thought, who does she think...
- 12:01Speaker 1: We're both young. We at least, we might not be fit,
- 12:05Speaker 1: but we at least look fit. And I was like,
- 12:08Speaker 1: fuck you. So we went and did it. Hardest thing ever.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So hard, bro.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Is that the fuck you recorded and put on your Insta?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 12:17Speaker 1: That was so, that was the first one we did.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And it was so difficult. And there was, we, we
- 12:21Speaker 1: saw two people on that, both the dogs, which was hectic. Um,
- 12:25Speaker 1: shout out Canada national parks, allowing dogs.
- 12:28Speaker 2: That's what all of Europe do.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Australia sucks, bro.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I think it's for wildlife here.
- 12:33Speaker 1: But they got fucking wildlife there, but they just let
- 12:35Speaker 1: you have dogs doing whatever they want. It's hectic.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they do.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I was like, this is so cool. Whatever. Cool hike.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Great hike. Ruined me. I was tired. And then ever
- 12:47Speaker 1: since then, we just got this random little itch to
- 12:50Speaker 1: just do this big hike. So we ended up just
- 12:51Speaker 1: doing bigger and bigger ones. Hell yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Are you going to do some big ones now you're back?
- 12:56Speaker 1: Probably not. Probably not, bro. I'm not going to lie
- 13:02Speaker 1: to you. I've told you. I went full performative. I'm
- 13:04Speaker 1: not going to sit here and act like I'm lying. Well,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you've got all the gear still.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Why did you leave it there?
- 13:07Speaker 1: No, no, no. I've got it. Wait. Bear spray.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. I was going to ask. What about the
- 13:14Speaker 2: bears in Canada, Bart?
- 13:15Speaker 1: I didn't see any. Didn't you see one? No, no.
- 13:17Speaker 1: The one we saw was a bear that was in captivity.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And he was found when he was only a couple
- 13:27Speaker 1: months old because- So he's 24 years old. So in 2022, sorry,
- 13:31Speaker 1: in 2002.
- 13:31Speaker 2: He's the same age as us.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Bro, this guy's old. His name's Boo. He's a mad dog.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So in 2002, this bear has three cubs, which means
- 13:42Speaker 1: apparently like a very healthy mama bear because it had
- 13:45Speaker 1: three cubs. They usually have two. And so it's walking
- 13:47Speaker 1: along the highway and this guy gets out of his car,
- 13:51Speaker 1: shoots the mom.
- 13:52Speaker 3: What?
- 13:53Speaker 1: Shoots the mom. Fuck. The cubs, two of the cubs
- 13:56Speaker 1: run up a tree. One of them blitzes off into
- 13:59Speaker 1: the forest, never to be seen again, obviously died. And
- 14:03Speaker 1: the rangers ended up finding the two cubs in the
- 14:06Speaker 1: tree and took them to this place in Golden at
- 14:08Speaker 1: Kicking Horse Mountain. And they built them a 20-acre thing
- 14:14Speaker 1: on the mountain. It's hectic. And they were put in
- 14:18Speaker 1: there together. And then in the first hibernation, unfortunately, one
- 14:21Speaker 1: of the cubs passed away. But the other cub, And
- 14:24Speaker 1: his name's Boo.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Fuck, is this Lonely Butt?
- 14:26Speaker 3: No.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Apparently, it's like... They're just solitary animals anyway. So, it's just...
- 14:30Speaker 1: This guy's been living the sickest life, right? 20 acres
- 14:34Speaker 1: of land. He gets food thrown in there for him.
- 14:36Speaker 1: He has to hunt for it and shit. They hide it.
- 14:39Speaker 1: And he... Wait. Mad Rooter.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Is he?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Wait, this guy, bro? Okay, so.
- 14:44Speaker 2: It's fucking Izzy. So, electric fence around the outside, right? Well,
- 14:48Speaker 2: have they got, like, fucking bear prostitutes coming in? So,
- 14:51Speaker 2: they've got.
- 14:52Speaker 1: They've got electric fence around the outside, but he obviously
- 14:57Speaker 1: attracts other bears. And so, you know, there's food in
- 15:00Speaker 1: there and he's in there. And during mating season, which
- 15:03Speaker 1: happens one month every year, twice in his 24 years
- 15:06Speaker 1: of life, so not often, but twice, he has had
- 15:09Speaker 1: this blonde grizzly bear come up to the outside of
- 15:12Speaker 1: his enclosure and he's just been chilling with her. He
- 15:16Speaker 1: waits for all the rangers to go to sleep and
- 15:18Speaker 1: he digs underneath the fence and he went missing for
- 15:22Speaker 1: a month.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Really?
- 15:24Speaker 1: And they were like, we need to go find him
- 15:26Speaker 1: because we don't know if he actually can handle himself
- 15:28Speaker 1: in the wild. And then one day he's just back
- 15:31Speaker 1: in his enclosure and they closed him in.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Fuck, so he just fucked for a month.
- 15:34Speaker 1: This guy goes out and just is hanging out. And
- 15:37Speaker 1: so they had helicopters out and they were watching him
- 15:39Speaker 1: and he hung out with this blonde grizzly for ages, right?
- 15:42Speaker 1: And then a couple of years after that, He got
- 15:45Speaker 1: out again. And to prevent him getting out the second time,
- 15:49Speaker 1: even though he got out, what they had to do
- 15:51Speaker 1: was bury underneath the fence, like pieces of steel plates.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Plates you can't dig. Yeah.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:58Speaker 1: And they weld them together. This guy fucking ripped it open. Really?
- 16:05Speaker 1: And he got out again. What an Adam away. Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 1: And yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 2: When you want to have sex, you got to have sex.
- 16:12Speaker 1: This guy, he was like, I need to get my
- 16:14Speaker 1: seat out there. You guys don't get it.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I wonder how long he was lasting. Is that curiosity?
- 16:21Speaker 1: You could be boo the van, bro. Wow. That sounds good, man. Yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: he's a fucking mad dog. But if you're in Canada,
- 16:30Speaker 1: in the Banff region, I recommend the Galatea Lakes, Galatea
- 16:37Speaker 1: Alpine Lakes hike.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh, very nice. Good recommendation.
- 16:41Speaker 1: That was the freaking sickest thing I ever did.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Hell yeah. Hell yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 2: What about you, bro?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So, I've got a list for mine, actually.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Oh, hell yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Because there were so many places.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. True.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Let me just get it up.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Let me.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Me and Cassie went through them. So, every place we
- 16:57Speaker 2: went to, I've given a rating. And I want to preface,
- 17:00Speaker 2: this is from our experience. And as a tourist, one
- 17:04Speaker 2: thing I hate is people say like, oh, you went
- 17:06Speaker 2: to the wrong place or whatever. Um, yeah, the main
- 17:09Speaker 2: city is not good. You got to go somewhere else, mate.
- 17:10Speaker 2: If it's your major city and it's shit, I don't care.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You got to go through, you got to go through
- 17:15Speaker 2: there to get somewhere. That means it's not good.
- 17:17Speaker 1: If you have to live there to know that it's good,
- 17:19Speaker 1: it's not that good.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Like if you, if you have to spend a bunch
- 17:23Speaker 1: of time in a place to find the good spots,
- 17:25Speaker 1: it's not that good. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Um, to start, I got you a present.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Oh shit.
- 17:31Speaker 2: You gave me one?
- 17:32Speaker 1: No. You're fucked. What was I going to do? Bring
- 17:35Speaker 1: you back some fucking maple syrup. You don't even need it.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I would have fucking enjoyed the gesture. Yeah.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I'm not like... I hate souvenirs, eh?
- 17:44Speaker 2: You ready, mate?
- 17:45Speaker 1: Oh, that's hectic. That's a sick souvenir.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll actually... There you go, mate. For the audio listeners,
- 17:53Speaker 2: it is Darcy or a sausage dog on a tote bag.
- 17:58Speaker 1: That's actually sick. Thank you.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That is from Hungary, my friend.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Hell yeah. My tote bag from Hungary.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:06Speaker 1: So here's the thing, right? I'm happy to admit I'm
- 18:09Speaker 1: a shit friend for not getting you a souvenir.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Last time you went, you got me like some predator
- 18:15Speaker 2: fucking magnet.
- 18:17Speaker 1: There you go. I've already got you something from Canada.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That was last time. That was two years ago.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I dislike souvenirs when people get you something. It's like,
- 18:29Speaker 1: don't get me something that I need to then look
- 18:31Speaker 1: at and I want to throw out, but I feel
- 18:32Speaker 1: bad throwing it out.
- 18:34Speaker 2: All right, you ungrateful piece of shit. You can't have it.
- 18:39Speaker 1: No, I like that. I told you I like that.
- 18:41Speaker 1: That's a good gift. You're probably just saying that to
- 18:43Speaker 1: my face. That's not just like a shirt that says
- 18:45Speaker 1: hungry on it and that looks like shit. Or it's
- 18:48Speaker 1: not like, that's not like a little toy stuffed animal
- 18:52Speaker 1: of like a fucking bear that has a shirt that
- 18:54Speaker 1: says hungry on it. That's like, here you go, Jake.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I got this. You've got this for you from Hungary.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You actually put thought into that. That's a good gift.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Thank you. I wasn't actually going to get you anything.
- 19:01Speaker 2: And then I saw it and I was like, oh.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I was like, oh, fuck, that's actually pretty good. All right,
- 19:07Speaker 2: so my holiday. We flew into Amsterdam from Sydney. It
- 19:11Speaker 2: was a red eye. Long flight, Emirates.
- 19:15Speaker 3: For real?
- 19:16Speaker 2: Way better. We flew Turkish Airlines on the way home.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Not as good.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Flew into Amsterdam. Didn't know what to expect with Amsterdam,
- 19:23Speaker 2: but gave it an overall rating of 7 out of 10.
- 19:26Speaker 2: i'd recommend going if you haven't been it's such unique
- 19:29Speaker 2: architecture and landscape with the canals and like the history
- 19:33Speaker 2: and just bikes man bikes in europe dude inside.
- 19:37Speaker 1: My grandparents in canada so we hung out with them
- 19:40Speaker 1: a fair bit fuck you know what i got stories
- 19:42Speaker 1: about my grandma hey she's a wild human anyway is she.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Like cool grandma one of those ones who are like
- 19:47Speaker 2: say rogue shit.
- 19:49Speaker 1: She'll say rogue shit, but she's also a mad dog
- 19:52Speaker 1: and just tries to kiss you on the lips. It's
- 19:54Speaker 1: actually insane, bro. It's actually insane. It's crazy, bro. Anyway,
- 20:02Speaker 1: she was obsessed with Beth. Anyway, they went to Amsterdam
- 20:05Speaker 1: and they said that the bike lanes were.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Oh, it's insane. Cars there don't make sense. Having a
- 20:14Speaker 2: bike there makes sense. If you live there, you just
- 20:17Speaker 2: have to have a bike.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's cool.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And then the public transport, the tram's insane there.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Really, really good.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I feel like Australia needs to step up its game. No,
- 20:26Speaker 2: that was really, really nice.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Question about Amsterdam. Is it a smaller city?
- 20:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Is it close together? Is that why the tram system's good?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Because you know how Sydney is spread out?
- 20:37Speaker 2: Oh, I guess you are right. So we stayed on
- 20:39Speaker 2: the outskirts of Amsterdam, which I really like because it's really,
- 20:42Speaker 2: really busy. Yeah. And then it was like 20 minutes,
- 20:45Speaker 2: 18 minutes on a tram to get to the middle
- 20:48Speaker 2: and then like another 20 to get to the other side.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So I guess you could say it's 40 minutes to
- 20:51Speaker 2: get from one side to the other.
- 20:52Speaker 1: True. That's not huge then, is it?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah. And we went on like one of those canal
- 20:56Speaker 2: rides and it was about an hour and I think
- 20:57Speaker 2: he took us to like most places.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Which is cool. It's a bit grubby, but you could
- 21:03Speaker 2: appreciate what it was.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Which was good. So overall rating, 7 out of 10.
- 21:08Speaker 2: We got there, but what?
- 21:09Speaker 1: Did you do mushies?
- 21:11Speaker 2: Nah, I didn't. Because it was early in the trip
- 21:13Speaker 2: and we were fighting jet lag. I didn't want to.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I was. Because you need to be in the right
- 21:17Speaker 2: headspace to do mushies.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And then if it was later in the trip when
- 21:21Speaker 2: we were doing hiking, I would have loved to do it.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, fuck. I looked up what
- 21:24Speaker 2: are the other regulations in other countries and you couldn't
- 21:26Speaker 2: bring them there. But I'm like, I don't want to
- 21:27Speaker 2: be in a city and just fucking cooking on mushies
- 21:30Speaker 2: where I can't sleep and shit. Nah, that's valid. But
- 21:33Speaker 2: we get there and then our room's like super duper
- 21:36Speaker 2: hot because it was hot in Europe because it was summer.
- 21:39Speaker 2: And we go downstairs and she goes, oh, I control
- 21:40Speaker 2: it from down here. And we're like, oh, yeah, sweet.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Can you just turn the air con like down a
- 21:44Speaker 2: fair bit? Like it's really hot in our room. And
- 21:45Speaker 2: then we go out, we come back. Our room's boiling.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And then we go like, our air con's not like working. Hey,
- 21:50Speaker 2: can we like maybe change rooms? And she goes, oh, yeah,
- 21:53Speaker 2: the whole building's air con actually isn't working. You can
- 21:56Speaker 2: just open a window. And we're like, do you realize
- 21:59Speaker 2: our window, we were on the top floor. Our window
- 22:01Speaker 2: opened five centimeters.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Wow.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And we were just like, you do realize our window, like,
- 22:06Speaker 2: doesn't open because, like, to prevent people jumping out. And
- 22:09Speaker 2: she's like, just open it up. And I was like,
- 22:11Speaker 2: zero airflow in there.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 2: So, I was like, the first night we were there,
- 22:15Speaker 2: we were just sweating. And we were like, what the fuck?
- 22:17Speaker 2: And they, like, lied to us and shit. And didn't
- 22:19Speaker 2: say I didn't want to work at the start, which
- 22:20Speaker 2: is really, really weird. But other than that, it was
- 22:22Speaker 2: really nice. I'd recommend.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Next, we went to Switzerland.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 2: My favorite.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Looks hectic.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Really well-run country. Sucks for Australians because the Swiss franc.
- 22:34Speaker 2: is really strong compared to even the Euro and Australian dollar.
- 22:38Speaker 2: So it's really expensive for us. But I'm going to
- 22:41Speaker 2: give that a rating of 9 out of 10. Super clean.
- 22:43Speaker 2: The landscape, 10 out of 10. The hike we did, sorry,
- 22:47Speaker 2: it was called the Oceane hike or something. Fucking best
- 22:52Speaker 2: hike I've ever done in my life. Busy?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Yeah, really busy.
- 22:54Speaker 2: We got there like 10 minutes. You have to get
- 22:57Speaker 2: cable cars up and down.
- 22:58Speaker 1: You can't.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Like if you walked it, that's a whole hike in itself.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:02Speaker 2: And we got there like 10 minutes after it opened.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So there's no one there. Like if you get there
- 23:05Speaker 2: at the front, but when we're walking back packed and
- 23:07Speaker 2: there's a lake at the top, you could swim. So
- 23:09Speaker 2: like people would just go up there and don't hike
- 23:10Speaker 2: as well.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 2: So it was really, really busy, but I would highly
- 23:14Speaker 2: recommend Switzerland. Hell yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I do want to go there one day. It looked,
- 23:17Speaker 1: the videos you guys have taken to, I really like,
- 23:22Speaker 1: so I like, um, so where I was was, I
- 23:27Speaker 1: obviously thought it was awesome. Right. And it's just like,
- 23:29Speaker 1: you don't, it just doesn't feel real.
- 23:31Speaker 2: When you look at it all.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But what I really liked was that like, so there
- 23:35Speaker 1: was some videos of yours where you looked like it
- 23:38Speaker 1: was just rock mountains. Right. But then where you guys were,
- 23:42Speaker 1: where it was like just green and with not really
- 23:46Speaker 1: many trees, like just green grass. And then there's a town.
- 23:51Speaker 1: And I just think if, if you lived there, you
- 23:53Speaker 1: just couldn't be depressed.
- 23:55Speaker 2: No, it's in the middle of nowhere. And they use
- 23:58Speaker 2: cows or goats to keep the grass down because you
- 24:00Speaker 2: obviously can't mow it. And I was like, this is
- 24:02Speaker 2: so cool. And the cows have bells on them, so
- 24:05Speaker 2: the bells vibrate throughout the mountain. So it's just like...
- 24:07Speaker 2: And it's really relaxing. It was so cool and so
- 24:12Speaker 2: foreign to us. We don't have any sort of... I
- 24:15Speaker 2: think they're formed from old volcanoes. Like that, anywhere in Australia.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Highly recommend. If I was to recommend a trip, I
- 24:22Speaker 2: reckon I would say... obviously because we live so far away,
- 24:25Speaker 2: you want to do Europe and do as much as
- 24:27Speaker 2: possible because it's so hard to get there.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But I feel like you and I probably would enjoy
- 24:31Speaker 2: like Switzerland for two weeks and then pick one other place.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Maybe go to a beach place for two weeks. Done.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah. That's my, Oh yeah. I like that.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I feel like, I feel like that would be good.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But next we went to Austria.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Surprise.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Really, really good.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I, those videos are sick. Good hiking.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Like the Austria was a bit of all rounding. Um,
- 24:50Speaker 2: More affordable. We went to Innsbruck and Vienna. Good hiking.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Nice people. And there's like more gyms and more stuff
- 24:56Speaker 2: to do. Old town in Vienna or Innsbruck. I remember
- 24:59Speaker 2: it's a big blur. It was really, really good. I'd recommend.
- 25:02Speaker 2: And then next we went to Hungary, which we weren't
- 25:08Speaker 2: happy with.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Didn't like Hungary?
- 25:10Speaker 2: Fucking hated it.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but where'd you go, bro? But where'd you go?
- 25:18Speaker 2: I'm sorry to all the Hungarian baddies out there.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Went to Budapest. Sorry to interrupt. I swear I've watched
- 25:29Speaker 1: a Spanian video on Budapest and he goes, this place
- 25:31Speaker 1: is trash.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Maybe because we were online and they had raving reviews
- 25:37Speaker 2: about everything and we were like, is anyone else experiencing
- 25:40Speaker 2: what we experienced? Firstly, we got an Airbnb, which was
- 25:43Speaker 2: like a 4.97 rating and we're like, oh yeah, let's
- 25:46Speaker 2: get there, go there. We're staying in the sussest location.
- 25:50Speaker 2: It was like in town, but like, I don't know,
- 25:53Speaker 2: 50 meters off the beaten path.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Get in there.
- 25:55Speaker 2: There's just bins filled with rubber. Smells like absolute shit.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And then we walk through there. There's paint peeling on
- 26:01Speaker 2: all the buildings. Apparently, this is normal in Europe and Hungary.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And you have to go through like an old elevator
- 26:06Speaker 2: invented in like the 80s. Feels like it's going to break.
- 26:08Speaker 2: And it's like stinks everywhere, paint peeling everywhere. It feels
- 26:10Speaker 2: like to picture it baddies. You know when you watch
- 26:15Speaker 2: a movie or a documentary and some guy's turned his
- 26:17Speaker 2: life around? He used to be in jail and he goes,
- 26:19Speaker 2: this is where I grew up. And he goes to
- 26:20Speaker 2: his mom's house and it's like, fucked. And at the
- 26:23Speaker 2: bottom there's kids playing with dogs and feral cats and shit.
- 26:26Speaker 2: That's what it was. We walk up to our room
- 26:30Speaker 2: and it's boiling hot too, by the way. It's like
- 26:32Speaker 2: 38 degrees, so we're overstimulated. And there's an old grandma
- 26:34Speaker 2: in her whole underwear just getting oxygen in. And she
- 26:39Speaker 2: was just wrinkly and shit. We're like, what the fuck
- 26:41Speaker 2: is this?
- 26:43Speaker 1: This old lady's catching strays. Like, what's this wrinkly old
- 26:46Speaker 1: lady doing? No, but, like, she was in her undies,
- 26:49Speaker 1: and she was, like, 80.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I was like, I don't want to see this shit.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and she lives there, obviously.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. She eats to her own. She can do
- 26:55Speaker 2: what she wants. Be like, fucking close your blind. I
- 26:57Speaker 2: don't want to fucking see you naked. And then we
- 27:03Speaker 2: get to our room, and to be fair, it wasn't terrible,
- 27:06Speaker 2: but it also did not feel safe one bit. To compare,
- 27:10Speaker 2: when we went to Bali, what's the... All for the
- 27:14Speaker 2: six weeks we were in Bali, every single one of
- 27:16Speaker 2: those accommodations was hand hands down better than that one
- 27:19Speaker 2: in Hungary. Wow. And like, but it was like a
- 27:21Speaker 2: Bali vibe. It had like a hot water heater on
- 27:23Speaker 2: top of the shower. And like, it was just janky
- 27:26Speaker 2: and kind of felt like I didn't feel clean in there.
- 27:28Speaker 2: So we booked a nicer hotel around the corner, which
- 27:31Speaker 2: was actually like nice, kind of expensive. And then I
- 27:34Speaker 2: think maybe that left a bad taste in our mouth.
- 27:36Speaker 2: We went to do all the touristy things, went to
- 27:39Speaker 2: these cool parliament houses there, and then I can't remember
- 27:41Speaker 2: what the massive building that was there that we went to,
- 27:45Speaker 2: but it was just a massive homelessness problem. Yes. We
- 27:52Speaker 2: saw one guy just had his ass completely out. He
- 27:55Speaker 2: was just walking around.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Are they all looking like they're under the influence too?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so Cassie saw some guy smoking crack. That was
- 28:03Speaker 2: a good thing to see.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Shit, bro. The homelessness in Canada was the same. Everyone's, like,
- 28:08Speaker 1: vent folded over.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and it was kind of, like, overwhelming and depressing
- 28:11Speaker 2: in a sense. Like, obviously, like, you feel really bad
- 28:14Speaker 2: for them. But then also, like, that was the only
- 28:16Speaker 2: place that I said to Cassie. It's like, I don't feel...
- 28:18Speaker 2: Because Cassie runs most mornings. I said, I don't feel
- 28:20Speaker 2: safe of you running here. If I've got to come
- 28:21Speaker 2: with you or... I don't think you should run by yourself.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Just because it was like that. And then there's... So, obviously...
- 28:28Speaker 2: that Europe's implemented the cans thing where you return a
- 28:32Speaker 2: can and get five or 10 cents or whatever. And
- 28:34Speaker 2: that's the only way homeless can make money. But there's
- 28:37Speaker 2: just fucking homelessness ravaging through all the, all the rubbish
- 28:41Speaker 2: bins and throwing rubbish everywhere. And we're just like, this
- 28:44Speaker 2: is like, this is like low key disgusting.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Dang.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So it's just like, and it's, I looked it up
- 28:50Speaker 2: and apparently like, I don't know, I could be completely wrong.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Their government's not very good and it's quite corrupt and
- 28:54Speaker 2: they don't care.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Um, and a lot of people say when it's an
- 28:57Speaker 2: old country shit like this happens, but it made me
- 29:00Speaker 2: reflect and like appreciate Australia. But then also like, it
- 29:04Speaker 2: was overwhelming because like it made me think like, how
- 29:07Speaker 2: has humanity let it get to this? And all these people,
- 29:11Speaker 2: there's so many people in the same situation and I
- 29:13Speaker 2: felt really bad. And I was just like, this is
- 29:14Speaker 2: where the problem.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Um, but food was good. That got hungry rating up.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Was it expensive? Was hungry expensive? No, it was one
- 29:24Speaker 2: of the cheaper countries, which was good. There you go.
- 29:26Speaker 2: But other than that, every time we left... You know
- 29:28Speaker 2: when you leave your house in Bali and you get
- 29:31Speaker 2: overstimulated really quickly? It was like that, but then the
- 29:35Speaker 2: people in Indonesia are really nice. Added a level of
- 29:37Speaker 2: danger to it.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Okay. Weird. Yeah. Okay. Interesting. So I'll probably look after
- 29:42Speaker 1: hearing that. I probably won't go to Hungary.
- 29:44Speaker 2: No, I avoided all costs. I've got a story. So
- 29:47Speaker 2: what we're going to do, this is just like my
- 29:49Speaker 2: overall ratings. I've got a couple like big hitting stories.
- 29:52Speaker 2: I'll bring the next couple of weeks.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Hell yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Once to do with Hungary. I won't tell it now.
- 29:55Speaker 2: It'll take too long.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Next, we went to Slovenia. Really, really good, which was
- 30:02Speaker 2: great because Slovenia is the cleanest country in Europe. Go Slovenia.
- 30:09Speaker 2: We went from disgusting to really, really nice. We did
- 30:12Speaker 2: a road trip there. We hired a golf. It was
- 30:14Speaker 2: wigging me out driving on the wrong side.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Of the road. I had to do that the whole
- 30:18Speaker 1: time in Canada. It was so weird.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Does it feel like your spatial awareness of the passenger
- 30:23Speaker 2: side is way off compared to how we drive? Yeah, yeah.
- 30:26Speaker 1: So I kept on driving. Beth kept on saying, like,
- 30:29Speaker 1: you're off the road.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what Cassie kept doing.
- 30:32Speaker 1: She kept saying, you're off the road. And I'd be like, oh, shit, sorry.
- 30:35Speaker 1: And then I found out my mum, because we used
- 30:37Speaker 1: my mum's car, it has this little lane assist. I
- 30:40Speaker 1: turned that on and it helped me out.
- 30:43Speaker 2: But Slovenia was really, really nice. The hikes and, like,
- 30:47Speaker 2: the natural water springs or whatever, the rivers, they were
- 30:50Speaker 2: freezing cold, which I love. It was like an ice
- 30:52Speaker 2: bath after an ice hike.
- 30:53Speaker 1: They come from glaciers or something? I actually don't know.
- 30:56Speaker 2: It would make sense maybe because it was freezing. But
- 30:59Speaker 2: that was lovely. And it's just free-flowing water too. So
- 31:00Speaker 2: it's like so fresh and so clear. It was wigging
- 31:02Speaker 2: me out because like, you know, when we dive in
- 31:04Speaker 2: the ocean and salt water goes in your mouth, like
- 31:06Speaker 2: you dive and then it's clear and.
- 31:07Speaker 1: You're like, what the hell? What's going on? That's a
- 31:10Speaker 1: weird feeling.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And then we went to Croatia, Dubrovnik. This is where
- 31:15Speaker 2: we went to the beaches. Really, really nice. Rate that 7.8.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Slovenia was an 8.5.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Corfu.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Only downside is we got a little bit of food
- 31:24Speaker 2: poisoning from a guros. We had a dodgy guros. Really
- 31:28Speaker 2: nice Corfu was though. The airport was like kind of
- 31:31Speaker 2: really stressful, but I'll give that a 7 out of 10.
- 31:33Speaker 2: And then we finished in Turkey. Turkey was like really surprising. Really,
- 31:37Speaker 2: really liked it. We went to Cappadocia for my birthday.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Did the hot air balloons. I highly recommend Cappadocia. 10
- 31:42Speaker 2: out of 10. Istanbul's really good. Istanbul airport, bro. Best
- 31:47Speaker 2: airport I've ever been to in the world. fucking huge
- 31:51Speaker 2: and then it's just so well run like so smooth
- 31:54Speaker 2: wow we had a stopover in athens and like it
- 31:57Speaker 2: was like chalk and cheese athens just felt like i
- 32:00Speaker 2: was living in the 1800s and i went to istanbul
- 32:02Speaker 2: and i was like this is what it should be
- 32:04Speaker 2: like i what's.
- 32:05Speaker 1: With um i find europe to be very very um
- 32:10Speaker 1: it's just so obviously the word is probably foreign and
- 32:13Speaker 1: it is foreign but it's so weird to me how
- 32:15Speaker 1: you can have a country like hungary And then Slovenia,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I assume sharing a border.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:22Speaker 1: And night and day difference.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that wigged me out a fair bit, hey.
- 32:25Speaker 2: And it's just like, it's so different. And night and
- 32:28Speaker 2: day difference.
- 32:29Speaker 1: It's so weird that it can be like that.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I would say like my trip to categorize it was
- 32:37Speaker 2: seeing the world. I wasn't on a holiday.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, bro, I was holidaying. Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Um, like I, I can't say like, I was like,
- 32:47Speaker 2: traveling is actually like hard work at the end of
- 32:49Speaker 2: the day.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah. You were traveling.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Yeah. It's a lot of moving. And like, I think
- 32:53Speaker 2: it was good to put like my takeaways were like
- 32:58Speaker 2: how much I appreciate Australia.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 2: I think, I think you're always going to be biased
- 33:01Speaker 2: where you grew up, obviously, but also like some of
- 33:04Speaker 2: like the things, the implementations, like how you said, like
- 33:07Speaker 2: the dogs aren't allowed in national parks. That's valid. But like,
- 33:10Speaker 2: we went to some beautiful beaches and like some beautiful
- 33:13Speaker 2: hikes and And then there's, like, they obviously don't have any, like,
- 33:16Speaker 2: sort of council or rangers or anything. There's just rubbish everywhere. And, like,
- 33:20Speaker 2: they don't look after it. Like, we went to this
- 33:21Speaker 2: beautiful beach in Corfu and they put day beds down there,
- 33:24Speaker 2: which I guess is, like, fair enough. But then all
- 33:26Speaker 2: the day beds that have broken, they've just, like, thrown
- 33:29Speaker 2: in the bush. And there's, like, a stack of, like,
- 33:31Speaker 2: 20 to 30 of them. And you're in, like, this
- 33:33Speaker 2: 10 out of 10 beautiful beach. And I was just, like,
- 33:35Speaker 2: come on. Like, how can you not, like, take your
- 33:37Speaker 2: rubbish away? Whereas you don't really get that in Australia. Like,
- 33:40Speaker 2: we really do try to take care of everything we've got.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: No, that's fair. And you just, you can't beat, I
- 33:51Speaker 1: don't think you can beat an Australian beach. You just
- 33:52Speaker 1: can't do it.
- 33:53Speaker 2: No, and obviously, like I said, we're biased, but man,
- 33:56Speaker 2: it is good. And like, because prior, I think we
- 33:59Speaker 2: were saying a lot that like Australia is overwhelming with
- 34:01Speaker 2: everything that's going on with the cost of living crisis
- 34:04Speaker 2: and like being a young Aussie, like it's a lot.
- 34:07Speaker 2: But then coming back, it kind of put my life
- 34:09Speaker 2: in perspective of like what we do have is really
- 34:12Speaker 2: special in a sense.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Although every country has got its own issues, for example,
- 34:16Speaker 2: like Hungary, blah, blah, blah, and we have all that.
- 34:17Speaker 2: And it made me think like maybe ours aren't that bad.
- 34:20Speaker 1: True, true. Oh, yeah, like the issues that I would
- 34:23Speaker 1: say are affecting us from the ones that we see
- 34:27Speaker 1: in the news all the time, the ones that we,
- 34:29Speaker 1: you know, and then you go and experience something in
- 34:31Speaker 1: a different country and you're just like, oh, it's not
- 34:33Speaker 1: that bad.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Problems that are bigger than us.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It made me think about humanity as a whole and
- 34:39Speaker 2: these beautiful cities at one point. had almost gone to
- 34:43Speaker 2: ruins and like there's graffiti everywhere. People were pissing everywhere
- 34:47Speaker 2: and it stinks. And it's just like, I was like, fucking,
- 34:50Speaker 2: what are we, I was like, what are we doing
- 34:52Speaker 2: as like a, as a race to do all this?
- 34:53Speaker 1: Like how did we, how did we fail these people?
- 34:56Speaker 1: Because you can't just say that all these people did
- 35:00Speaker 1: this to themselves. You can't.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. There's just too many in it.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:04Speaker 2: And then I was very overwhelmed. And then also like
- 35:06Speaker 2: it's outside fucking a realm of anything we do, but
- 35:09Speaker 2: it's like, what can you, anyone do to fix this
- 35:12Speaker 2: and i guess that's what their governing bodies are thinking
- 35:15Speaker 2: like fuck it's too far gone let's just give.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Up i'd say it gets that point doesn't it before
- 35:19Speaker 1: we move on i want to say canada um i
- 35:23Speaker 1: would i'm gonna say give a hot take about canada
- 35:27Speaker 1: two two hot takes if you're going to canada this
- 35:31Speaker 1: isn't the hot take you of i you have to
- 35:33Speaker 1: go to the rocky mountains all right yeah i've heard
- 35:35Speaker 1: that you have to go but hot take number one
- 35:39Speaker 1: Stay in Canmore, not Banff. Canmore is way better than Banff.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Shit.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Canmore, ride or die over here. By the way, that's
- 35:47Speaker 1: all I'm saying.
- 35:48Speaker 2: All right, all right.
- 35:50Speaker 1: The second hot take is you don't need to go
- 35:53Speaker 1: to Lake Louise, which is like... Remember the photos I
- 35:57Speaker 1: sent you of the smoky place I went and I
- 35:58Speaker 1: was like, this is what it's supposed to look like
- 36:00Speaker 1: and this is what we got. Now, even if it
- 36:02Speaker 1: was a beautiful view, it would have been a bit better,
- 36:05Speaker 1: but we got it super smoky and the view was
- 36:07Speaker 1: like not good. Um, it just has been so, so
- 36:12Speaker 1: Beth and I did this like, um, hike where it
- 36:15Speaker 1: was like 10 Ks around trip. So five up, five back. Right.
- 36:18Speaker 1: And you go up and you get to have like
- 36:19Speaker 1: this really cool view over Lake Louise. And then it was,
- 36:23Speaker 1: it just is, it's just the tourist central of the
- 36:27Speaker 1: whole area. Right. And so I don't know if it's
- 36:31Speaker 1: like a pretentious part of me that's like, I don't
- 36:33Speaker 1: want to be where people are.
- 36:35Speaker 2: You know, I don't want to be, I'm a better tourist.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I don't, yeah. I don't know if it's like that.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Like I had this, I saw a funny video and Beth,
- 36:41Speaker 1: we were going to recreate it. I don't know if
- 36:43Speaker 1: we did, but I saw this funny video of someone
- 36:45Speaker 1: in Europe. And it was like, my, my most toxic
- 36:48Speaker 1: trait is that I think I'm a better tourist than
- 36:51Speaker 1: everyone else. And like, they had, they had this gross
- 36:54Speaker 1: look on their face of how busy this place was.
- 36:55Speaker 1: And they were like, I deserve to be here. You
- 36:57Speaker 1: can all fuck off. And I was thinking, you know what?
- 37:01Speaker 1: I need to reel myself in because I genuinely started
- 37:04Speaker 1: feeling that in busy places. I was like, how fucking
- 37:07Speaker 1: dare you all be here?
- 37:08Speaker 2: No, I own that shit. You're part Canadian. I own that.
- 37:12Speaker 2: You got a leg to stand on there.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Nah, true, true, true.
- 37:15Speaker 2: If you were in other places of Europe, I'd be like, yeah, mate,
- 37:17Speaker 2: come on.
- 37:20Speaker 1: We went to this place and it was... We went
- 37:23Speaker 1: up to this place called Jasper and then... There was
- 37:28Speaker 1: this little thing on all trails and it was a
- 37:30Speaker 1: beaver trail. You go for this walk and you might
- 37:32Speaker 1: be able to see some beavers. And we went in
- 37:35Speaker 1: the middle of the day, which is the worst time
- 37:36Speaker 1: to see animals. They always come out morning or night. Anyway,
- 37:39Speaker 1: we're there and there's this couple with their phones out
- 37:42Speaker 1: a little bit away from us filming something. So we think, oh,
- 37:44Speaker 1: they're obviously seeing a beaver. That would be so sick
- 37:46Speaker 1: to go see. So we go over and we can
- 37:48Speaker 1: see its little head, maybe 20 meters away. It's like
- 37:52Speaker 1: munching on some grass or something. And then this couple,
- 37:55Speaker 1: they go away with a video of what they think
- 37:58Speaker 1: is a beaver, right? And then Beth and I go
- 38:00Speaker 1: to a different spot where we see it better. It
- 38:02Speaker 1: was a fucking rat. Really? Yeah. And so we were
- 38:07Speaker 1: all interested in this thing we thought was a beaver.
- 38:10Speaker 1: And then we go over, we're getting a video, and
- 38:12Speaker 1: then an old couple comes over, right? And they go, oh, look, cool, cool.
- 38:15Speaker 1: And then the woman in the couple goes, is that
- 38:18Speaker 1: a muskrat? And we looked it up, and it was
- 38:20Speaker 1: just a fucking water rat, bro. Yo.
- 38:24Speaker 2: That couple has probably got a story, like, oh, yeah,
- 38:26Speaker 2: we went there and saw a beaver. It was sick.
- 38:29Speaker 1: And you know what I thought? I thought, I wish
- 38:31Speaker 1: we left at the same time as them, so we
- 38:33Speaker 1: thought we saw a beaver. It would have been way better.
- 38:36Speaker 1: They're out there thinking they've seen a beaver. They were European.
- 38:38Speaker 1: They've gone back to Europe thinking they've seen a beaver.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Oh, well.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Baddies. Time for dilemmas. We've got a big backlog of dilemmas.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Keep sending them in, but.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Link in the description. I feel like I forgot what
- 38:58Speaker 1: to say here. Link in the description of this video.
- 38:59Speaker 1: We'll have it a little longer. Okay. I'm going to
- 39:04Speaker 1: go first. My boyfriend, now ex, lied about seeing his
- 39:09Speaker 1: best friend three days after we agreed on boundaries. I
- 39:13Speaker 1: was in a relationship with Chad and I had concerns
- 39:16Speaker 1: about his relationship.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait. Say his name one more time.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Chad. No. First of all, first of all, who's naming
- 39:29Speaker 1: their kid Chad?
- 39:30Speaker 2: Hopefully she's using like a discretionary name.
- 39:34Speaker 1: The only? Oh, surely she's using a discretionary name.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Chad's my fucking alter ego when I like put a
- 39:39Speaker 2: backwards cap on and I go to Cassie like, hey babe,
- 39:42Speaker 2: what you doing?
- 39:42Speaker 1: Chad's your alter ego when you're one dumb chump or
- 39:44Speaker 1: whatever you called it earlier, mate. I... Who's having a
- 39:50Speaker 1: baby boy and then being like, Chad? Like, his name's Chad.
- 39:55Speaker 2: I don't think there's one Australian named Chad, eh?
- 39:58Speaker 1: God, I hope not. Anyway, the only person naming their
- 40:01Speaker 1: son Chad is someone named Chad. Like, Jesus.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Chad bloody 2.0, Chad Jr.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Anyway, so my boyfriend now acts a lot about... Okay,
- 40:09Speaker 1: so I was in a relationship with Chad and I
- 40:11Speaker 1: had concerns about his relationship with his female best friend, Stephanie.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Three days before this happened, Chad and I had a
- 40:18Speaker 1: serious conversation and agreed on boundaries around their relationship. Then,
- 40:21Speaker 1: on the following Sunday, Chad told me he was having
- 40:24Speaker 1: dinner with his mum at Mingara. Oh, coastie!
- 40:27Speaker 3: Oh, fuck!
- 40:28Speaker 1: Let's go, Mingers! Maybe there is someone named Chad in Mingers. Anyway,
- 40:32Speaker 1: he was actually having dinner with Stephanie.
- 40:36Speaker 2: At Mingers?
- 40:36Speaker 1: That's not that romantic, Bart. True. After dinner, Stephanie went
- 40:40Speaker 1: back to Chad's place and they hung out there without
- 40:42Speaker 1: telling me. Oh, sus. Chad continued to lie about what
- 40:46Speaker 1: happened until I found their message and confronted him. Eventually,
- 40:49Speaker 1: he admitted it. What hurt the most was that this
- 40:52Speaker 1: happened only three days after we had explicitly agreed on boundaries.
- 40:55Speaker 1: And even after admitting that he had lied, Chad's response
- 40:58Speaker 1: was basically that he should still be allowed to see
- 41:01Speaker 1: his best friend rather than taking accountability and apologizing. The
- 41:05Speaker 1: relationship is over now, but I'm left wondering, How do
- 41:12Speaker 1: you get closure when the person who betrayed your trust
- 41:14Speaker 1: doesn't seem to think they did anything wrong? Oh, shit.
- 41:21Speaker 1: And then she says, and I'm not anonymous, Chad and Stephanie,
- 41:25Speaker 1: you know who you are. Oh, shit.
- 41:29Speaker 2: We roasted Chad too.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Oh, shit. Oh, he's probably not listening to this. Maybe
- 41:37Speaker 1: Stephanie could be.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I've got a poetic way to put this, I think.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 2: The closure is within the beholder because literally you go
- 41:49Speaker 2: back and read what you sent in and him not
- 41:52Speaker 2: being able to see that what he did was wrong.
- 41:55Speaker 2: And the problem isn't that he went and hang out
- 41:57Speaker 2: with his best friend. It's that he lied to you.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 2: And like, if he can't see that's an issue, there's
- 42:02Speaker 2: your closure because you realize this man's a piece of
- 42:04Speaker 2: fucking shit and you can't get closer from a piece
- 42:06Speaker 2: of fucking shit.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good point. So like you're never going
- 42:09Speaker 1: to get closure from him. Like he's never going to
- 42:11Speaker 1: admit that he was wrong. And I would say that
- 42:15Speaker 1: is also literally your closure. Yeah, simple as that.
- 42:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 2: So did they break up after this and they had
- 42:23Speaker 2: a conversation saying you lied to me and she broke
- 42:25Speaker 2: up with him?
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think that that's probably what has happened. She's broken
- 42:28Speaker 1: up with him for it.
- 42:29Speaker 2: I don't understand men, though.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Well, you know what? Fucking props to you, baddie. That's
- 42:34Speaker 1: a hectic reason to break up. Most people... We've had
- 42:37Speaker 1: so many dilemmas where I don't want to throw shade
- 42:40Speaker 1: at any of the baddies, but a lot of them
- 42:41Speaker 1: would have said.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to comprehend the male brain, though, because
- 42:47Speaker 2: you're allowed to have a friend of any sex, obviously,
- 42:50Speaker 2: but you're not allowed to have a conversation with someone
- 42:52Speaker 2: and set a boundary and then go against what the
- 42:54Speaker 2: boundary was set as. How is that a good idea
- 42:57Speaker 2: in any world? Why don't you just say... When you're
- 42:59Speaker 2: talking about it, no, I actually really like Stephanie and
- 43:02Speaker 2: she's my best friend and you've got to trust me.
- 43:04Speaker 2: And then there's no issue there.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:06Speaker 2: And then there's a conversation around it. But obviously something's
- 43:09Speaker 2: going on if he's lied.
- 43:10Speaker 1: And if you, yeah, yeah, no, there's something sus going
- 43:14Speaker 1: on here and you've dodged a massive bullet.
- 43:16Speaker 2: No, even bigger bullet though. Like this is only going
- 43:19Speaker 2: to make sense to the baddie. He took her to Mingus.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Like you're not missing out on shit. That's not very romantic.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, bro. Maybe they are just friends and they're Steph.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Hopefully Stephanie doesn't think they're more than friends.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Basically an RSL club with like pokies and then like
- 43:31Speaker 2: a gym and shit.
- 43:32Speaker 1: It's basically a casino, bro. It's like, imagine a guy
- 43:36Speaker 1: takes you to a casino on a date. There's no
- 43:37Speaker 1: way you go to Mingara and don't go to the pokies.
- 43:40Speaker 2: How do I word this? I feel bad for what
- 43:44Speaker 2: some people might think that is good. We were on
- 43:46Speaker 2: a flight once and this guy was playing his music
- 43:50Speaker 2: out loud on an hour and a half flight watching videos.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And a guy two seats behind him said, hey, mate,
- 43:57Speaker 2: excuse me, can you turn your phone down or not
- 43:58Speaker 2: listen to the videos or put some headphones on? He
- 44:00Speaker 2: like turned around, took his seatbelt off, arced up to
- 44:03Speaker 2: him and he's like, catch me outside, mate. Don't tell
- 44:05Speaker 2: me what to fucking do. And we were just like, what?
- 44:10Speaker 2: And then he was like fucking, the two flight attendants,
- 44:14Speaker 2: they were actually males, which was like lucky because they're
- 44:16Speaker 2: like two kind of big dudes. And he's like, mate,
- 44:18Speaker 2: like calm down, calm down. And the guy's like the
- 44:20Speaker 2: most chill. He like said it politely. He's like, turn
- 44:22Speaker 2: your music down. You're in the wrong. And then this
- 44:24Speaker 2: girl's there, like, he's sitting next to his wife or partner.
- 44:27Speaker 2: She thinks he's probably normal. And, like, that's her level of, like,
- 44:30Speaker 2: what she expects in a relationship. And me and Cassidy
- 44:33Speaker 2: felt bad for her. Like, this is her husband or whatever.
- 44:35Speaker 2: And he's, like, fucking hucking up. He looked like a
- 44:37Speaker 2: bit of a pit bull. And I was like, you're
- 44:39Speaker 2: clearly in the wrong. And it's like with that dude.
- 44:41Speaker 2: He can't admit that he's doing something wrong.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Who the hell listens to a video on their phone
- 44:49Speaker 1: full volume on a plane?
- 44:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:51Speaker 2: It was because I thought literally someone did something wrong
- 44:55Speaker 2: and someone was about to punch. I was like, because
- 44:56Speaker 2: I had my noise-canceling headphones on and I just hear
- 44:58Speaker 2: these two yelling. I was like, oh, my God. I
- 45:00Speaker 2: was one seat behind the guy who said something.
- 45:02Speaker 1: You would have had to get up and help him, mate.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was so nonchalant. He was sick. He
- 45:07Speaker 2: didn't even like, he like doubled down. He goes, mate,
- 45:10Speaker 2: just turn your phone down.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Was he off?
- 45:11Speaker 3: He was like.
- 45:12Speaker 2: No, he wasn't Aussie. He was of Asian descent, some
- 45:15Speaker 2: type of Asian descent. I was like, what a legend.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Wait, oh my God. I'm literally that guy. Coming home
- 45:21Speaker 1: from Korea, I was FaceTiming my sister and I didn't
- 45:25Speaker 1: have my headphones in yet because we had just got
- 45:26Speaker 1: on the plane. And so I was sitting down and
- 45:28Speaker 1: I was FaceTiming her and I didn't have a full volume,
- 45:31Speaker 1: but I was like, I was just like, yeah, yeah, yeah, talking.
- 45:33Speaker 1: And some guy comes up and he's like, turn your
- 45:35Speaker 1: phone off. And I was like, Yeah, good point. And
- 45:39Speaker 1: I said, I got to go.
- 45:40Speaker 2: At least he said that. We were full flying. It
- 45:42Speaker 2: was like drinks time. Like they were going around the
- 45:44Speaker 2: drinks cart. Yeah. And the guys had like moved the
- 45:46Speaker 2: drinks and they'd run over and be like, shh, shh, shh, shh.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I thought someone like had brought something on the plane
- 45:50Speaker 2: that was wrong because that's how much he amped up. Really?
- 45:54Speaker 2: Did you see that video actually? Did you see it? Yeah.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Did you see that video of, it was in America.
- 46:00Speaker 2: This girl pretended to bring a baby on a flight.
- 46:02Speaker 2: And you know, when they're under two years, you can.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Have them on your lap.
- 46:06Speaker 2: This girl actually had a lynx, like an exotic cat,
- 46:10Speaker 2: wrapped up like a baby. And the guy sitting next
- 46:12Speaker 2: to her said something to the flight attendant like, I
- 46:15Speaker 2: think she's got a fucking cat. And then the flight
- 46:18Speaker 2: attendant goes, oh, do you mind if I have a
- 46:20Speaker 2: look at your baby? She goes, why?
- 46:21Speaker 1: Why?
- 46:22Speaker 2: I just want to like have a look at your baby.
- 46:23Speaker 2: And then she like peels it open. This is this
- 46:25Speaker 2: fucking exotic cat. And the guy sitting next to her goes.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I fucking knew it. It's a cat. Get me the
- 46:31Speaker 1: fuck out of here.
- 46:32Speaker 2: And I was like, and it ended up being a stuffed,
- 46:35Speaker 2: like a taxidermied lynx of her old pet.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Like disgusting.
- 46:40Speaker 2: So you can get, I guess you can get worse
- 46:42Speaker 2: than like loud music. People are weird.
- 46:46Speaker 1: No, that's actually insane.
- 46:48Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Flying to Canada, we had an older couple behind us.
- 46:56Speaker 1: And the wife, halfway through the flight, she just starts
- 47:05Speaker 1: bawling her eyes out, crying, right? And I have no
- 47:11Speaker 1: idea why she was crying. I don't know if a
- 47:14Speaker 1: movie made her cry or she was on her way
- 47:16Speaker 1: to a funeral or something. I don't know. It was like,
- 47:19Speaker 1: I was like, I was like looking around like, you're
- 47:23Speaker 1: a gay. The husband didn't talk to her.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Really?
- 47:27Speaker 1: I was like, what's going on here? She's bawling her
- 47:29Speaker 1: eyes out. Anyway.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Oh, shit. That's sad. Well, overall takeaway is good work, baddie.
- 47:35Speaker 2: And all the baddies listening too, like, no, if you're
- 47:38Speaker 2: mad as a piece of shit, like tell him.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I think like kind of, yeah, it's the world
- 47:45Speaker 1: we live in is so difficult. But if someone's been
- 47:47Speaker 1: a piece of shit, especially if it's a boyfriend, call
- 47:49Speaker 1: him out. And if he just doesn't take it well,
- 47:52Speaker 1: break up with them. Do what this baddie did and
- 47:54Speaker 1: break up with him. I'm so proud of this baddie.
- 47:56Speaker 1: I break up with people for doing bad shit. Yeah, exactly. Great.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Okay, next one. My dilemma.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Hi, guys.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I need some advice because I'm feeling really confused. I'm
- 48:07Speaker 2: in a good relationship with someone who treats me well
- 48:09Speaker 2: and there's nothing– majorly wrong between us. But I've noticed
- 48:13Speaker 2: this is a pattern in every relationship I've ever had.
- 48:17Speaker 2: At some point, I start missing being single. I miss
- 48:21Speaker 2: the freedom, independence, and just being on my own. I
- 48:25Speaker 2: also find myself thinking about exes sometimes, not because I
- 48:28Speaker 2: necessarily want them back, but it makes me question why
- 48:33Speaker 2: my mind goes there. Whenever my partner and I have
- 48:36Speaker 2: an argument, my first reaction is to say, in quotes,
- 48:39Speaker 2: just call it then. even though I don't actually know
- 48:42Speaker 2: if I want to end the relationship. The weird part
- 48:45Speaker 2: is that when I am single, I eventually crave a
- 48:47Speaker 2: relationship and companionship. Then once I'm in a relationship, I
- 48:51Speaker 2: start missing being single again. I feel like I'm constantly
- 48:54Speaker 2: torn between wanting love and wanting complete independence. Has anyone
- 48:59Speaker 2: else experienced this? Is this a normal feeling? Or does
- 49:02Speaker 2: it mean I'm just not someone who's meant to be
- 49:04Speaker 2: in a relationship? I'd really love to hear from anyone
- 49:06Speaker 2: who's been through something similar and figured out why they
- 49:09Speaker 2: feel this way.
- 49:11Speaker 1: Oh, dang.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, comment.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Someone comment if you've got the same feelings.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I feel like I can't relate to that. but I
- 49:20Speaker 2: feel like it is a different way of feeling the
- 49:24Speaker 2: grass is always greener.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:25Speaker 2: From whatever you've got. And like, it's normal in a
- 49:28Speaker 2: relationship to think like, what if? But then if it's
- 49:32Speaker 2: a consistent thing, I think that's when it becomes an issue.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 2: And you can't appreciate. if you can't appreciate the beauty
- 49:39Speaker 2: that you have in a relationship, then it's probably fair
- 49:42Speaker 2: to end it with said person because you've got some
- 49:44Speaker 2: type of soul searching to do if you're still thinking
- 49:46Speaker 2: this every day or every time you have a fight.
- 49:49Speaker 2: There's some type of trauma response there that you're like,
- 49:51Speaker 2: I need more than this.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Would be my opinion. But I also want to show
- 49:58Speaker 2: like a little bit of empathy that it is normal
- 50:01Speaker 2: to feel here and there, I think.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I think so too. I don't know. I think like,
- 50:07Speaker 1: you know, with you thinking about your exes right as
- 50:10Speaker 1: long as you're not thinking about them in the way
- 50:12Speaker 1: of like oh i miss them so much and i
- 50:14Speaker 1: just want to fuck them exactly you know if you
- 50:16Speaker 1: think about an ex and you're just thinking about your
- 50:19Speaker 1: relationship or something that's a normal thing because you're just
- 50:23Speaker 1: having a memory yeah you're not yearning but if you're
- 50:26Speaker 1: yearning you know maybe i do want to be with
- 50:28Speaker 1: that person still then that's different i'd say but yeah
- 50:32Speaker 1: I don't know if I have any real good advice
- 50:33Speaker 1: for this situation because I would say I personally haven't
- 50:36Speaker 1: felt it. I think when you're single, wanting to feel,
- 50:40Speaker 1: wanting to be in a relationship is a very normal feeling.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like that one's completely normal. I feel
- 50:45Speaker 2: like being in a relationship and craving being single is weird.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Sorry, weird is not the right word, but.
- 50:50Speaker 1: That's just how it came out. True, yeah, not weird,
- 50:52Speaker 1: but that's probably the thing to look at.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Because I can't say I've... I don't crave being single.
- 51:00Speaker 1: And again, I don't know what the right or wrong
- 51:02Speaker 1: thing is, but I'd love to get some comments from
- 51:05Speaker 1: baddies that maybe felt this and maybe they've gone and
- 51:08Speaker 1: spoken to someone about it or maybe you need to
- 51:11Speaker 1: have these sort of boundaries with your boyfriend where you... Like,
- 51:16Speaker 1: do you want to be single because you want the
- 51:21Speaker 1: life of being single sexually or do you want to
- 51:23Speaker 1: be single purely for the independence of being single where
- 51:26Speaker 1: it's like you just... wake up, do what you want.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Don't have to worry about someone else's feelings. Like sometimes
- 51:32Speaker 1: being selfish like that is, is fun and nice, you know? Yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 2: A hundred percent.
- 51:38Speaker 1: So do you want to be single for that reason?
- 51:40Speaker 1: I think wanting to be single for the second reason
- 51:42Speaker 1: is probably normal hours.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I think completely normal. And that might be,
- 51:46Speaker 2: like Jake said, boundary settings in your relationship is maybe
- 51:49Speaker 2: you are doing too much together, which is a completely
- 51:51Speaker 2: fine issue to have. But if it's the sexual side
- 51:53Speaker 2: and exploring yourself side of things, I think that's when
- 51:56Speaker 2: he has a right to know that and probably break up.
- 51:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's just more like you need to come
- 52:01Speaker 1: to terms with the fact that you could be potentially
- 52:04Speaker 1: not wasting just his time, but your own time.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Yeah, write in more depth of the actual emotion that
- 52:08Speaker 2: you're missing from being single. If it's just independence, I
- 52:12Speaker 2: think you're so fine. But And that's a conversation you
- 52:15Speaker 2: can have, like we said. But yeah, we don't know
- 52:17Speaker 2: because he didn't give us enough. We don't know if
- 52:18Speaker 2: it's sexual or independent or it's a bit of both
- 52:21Speaker 2: or he's on your nerve and you just want to
- 52:22Speaker 2: be alone.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good point. Like, I don't think there's
- 52:25Speaker 1: anything wrong with... If Beth said to me, you know, I...
- 52:31Speaker 1: She's like, I really want to have times where I
- 52:38Speaker 1: am alone. I would just be thinking, valid, bro. I
- 52:44Speaker 1: wouldn't call it bro, but I'd be thinking valid, you know,
- 52:47Speaker 1: you don't, we, we sleep together every night. We, we
- 52:51Speaker 1: wake up together every morning. You know, if you want to,
- 52:54Speaker 1: it's kind of nice that I go to the central
- 52:56Speaker 1: coast once a month for two nights or something. Cause it's,
- 53:00Speaker 1: it's almost like a little reset and you get to
- 53:03Speaker 1: miss the person because you don't miss someone that you
- 53:07Speaker 1: see every single day. No, I agree.
- 53:08Speaker 2: And then it's when you're together, you kind of, because
- 53:12Speaker 2: it becomes so normal, you don't appreciate it as much.
- 53:15Speaker 2: It comes back to like, we get dilemmas about how
- 53:17Speaker 2: often you should be having sex. And when you don't
- 53:19Speaker 2: live together, you have more sex because you yearn for
- 53:21Speaker 2: that person and you think about it more because they're
- 53:23Speaker 2: not in front of you all the time. But when,
- 53:24Speaker 2: like Jake said, you wake up, you eat lunch together,
- 53:26Speaker 2: you eat dinner together, you hang out all day. It's
- 53:29Speaker 2: still amazing, but then human nature is just to accept
- 53:32Speaker 2: that that's your normal. And you kind of don't see
- 53:35Speaker 2: the beauty in it anymore. So those little resets, like
- 53:37Speaker 2: Jake coming here, that's a great reset for him. Maybe
- 53:40Speaker 2: you need a reset to appreciate what you've actually got.
- 53:43Speaker 2: And then there's that end of the spectrum. All your
- 53:45Speaker 2: boyfriends are just actually not that good and he isn't
- 53:47Speaker 2: giving you what you want.
- 53:48Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 53:49Speaker 2: And you prefer to be alone than be with him.
- 53:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:51Speaker 2: That's the other end of it.
- 53:53Speaker 1: There's every chance in the world the feelings you feel
- 53:54Speaker 1: are just that you don't like the boyfriends you're with.
- 53:57Speaker 1: You never know. Dating is fine. I don't even... I
- 54:00Speaker 1: want to say.
- 54:06Speaker 1: If you're feeling like you want to be single for
- 54:08Speaker 1: a long time, yeah, you probably should be single. Yeah. Yeah.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Cause I mean, the healthy thing is just thinking like
- 54:15Speaker 2: here or there, like, I don't know your friends to
- 54:17Speaker 2: say something like, Oh yeah, that'd be fun. And then
- 54:18Speaker 2: that's it. Yeah.
- 54:20Speaker 1: I think that the best thing, here's my advice to
- 54:24Speaker 1: finish it is whatever decisions you end up making, just
- 54:30Speaker 1: trust the decision.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:32Speaker 1: So don't, Don't break up with your boyfriend, right? And
- 54:36Speaker 1: then a couple months later, have that feeling of wanting
- 54:40Speaker 1: to be in a relationship again and then message him
- 54:42Speaker 1: and be like, do you want to get back together?
- 54:44Speaker 1: I think that you need to trust whatever decisions you make.
- 54:49Speaker 1: And sometimes decisions can be wrong. But again, you have
- 54:53Speaker 1: to trust him. I think trusting decisions is a big one.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I think that's the best way to get through life
- 54:57Speaker 2: because you actually get the result of the decision you've made.
- 55:02Speaker 2: If you half-ass it, you don't move forward in life
- 55:05Speaker 2: in any way.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:06Speaker 2: There's no wrong decision as long as you trust it. Yeah, valid. Baddies,
- 55:16Speaker 2: it's time for comments. If you want to get your
- 55:18Speaker 2: comment read, you know what to do. Simply comment on
- 55:20Speaker 2: the episode you are listening to. I've got Sally from
- 55:22Speaker 2: a Patreon special, which I want to say over on Patreon,
- 55:25Speaker 2: the community we are growing and the episodes are insane.
- 55:29Speaker 2: So head over there for $ 8. 99 a month. She said,
- 55:31Speaker 2: no guys, I would say the opposite when it comes
- 55:33Speaker 2: to hot and attractive. Maybe it's because I'm Danish, but
- 55:37Speaker 2: I would say hot means someone I find sexy looking
- 55:41Speaker 2: while I can be attracted to you because of so
- 55:42Speaker 2: many other things other than your look.
- 55:45Speaker 1: I.e.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Your voice, style, humor, manners, the way you do certain things.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Maybe it's just me. By the way, I couldn't find
- 55:52Speaker 2: this episode on Patreon.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Did we say the opposite?
- 55:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we said, yeah, the opposite.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I see your logic, and I guess there's no right
- 56:03Speaker 1: or wrong in that sense. It's just the way you
- 56:04Speaker 1: see it.
- 56:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Both are compliments. All right, Jake, it is
- 56:08Speaker 2: time for one of the baddies to sign off an episode.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Who are we going to call?
- 56:12Speaker 1: Tim.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Hello.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Hello, is that Tim?
- 56:17Speaker 3: Yes, everything okay?
- 56:19Speaker 2: Yeah, everything's fine, mate. It's Audie and Jake from the
- 56:21Speaker 2: Relatables podcast. How's it going?
- 56:25Speaker 3: What the fuck? I'm on the way to class at
- 56:29Speaker 3: the moment.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Jesus, okay.
- 56:30Speaker 2: You're on the way to class. Have you got a
- 56:31Speaker 2: second to sign off an episode?
- 56:35Speaker 3: Yeah, sure. I did not expect this. My God.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Have you got something? Sorry, are you driving?
- 56:45Speaker 1: Oh, um.
- 56:47Speaker 3: I'm driving, but I guess I can give it some advice,
- 56:51Speaker 3: I guess. I can't really pull out my notes while
- 56:54Speaker 3: I'm driving on the M4.
- 56:55Speaker 2: Or have you got some notes too? Because if you
- 56:58Speaker 2: can just sign off today, we'll call you again in
- 57:01Speaker 2: a couple of weeks and you can do it properly
- 57:02Speaker 2: as well.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Easy.
- 57:06Speaker 3: I'll give a bit of advice, I guess, about moving
- 57:09Speaker 3: on relationships, I guess.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 57:11Speaker 3: That'd be relevant to some comments.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Yep.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Oh, really? Damn. Okay. I guess in terms of moving on, like,
- 57:21Speaker 3: maybe it is them, like, in the future, but it
- 57:24Speaker 3: definitely isn't them right now. And, like, you know, maybe
- 57:28Speaker 3: this is someone that you're meant to cross paths with
- 57:29Speaker 3: again someday, but today is not that day because if
- 57:32Speaker 3: it was, you wouldn't have to force it.
- 57:35Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Ooh, if it was, you wouldn't have to force it.
- 57:37Speaker 2: I really like that. No, that rings home because, like,
- 57:40Speaker 2: sometimes you feel like the person in front of you
- 57:43Speaker 2: has to be the one, but to get over him,
- 57:45Speaker 2: you can't force it, can you?
- 57:46Speaker 3: No you can't and if it and if they were
- 57:49Speaker 3: i feel like they would appreciate it more come that
- 57:52Speaker 3: time when you do cross paths again they would appreciate
- 57:54Speaker 3: it if you did move on with your life and
- 57:57Speaker 3: get to a point where it would work and you
- 58:00Speaker 3: know it's something that's really beautiful that you guys can
- 58:02Speaker 3: have together.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Especially yeah especially if they can see the growth that
- 58:05Speaker 2: you've gone through to become that better version of yourself
- 58:08Speaker 2: then maybe yeah but you just can't look for it
- 58:11Speaker 2: at the time well that was great tim what are
- 58:13Speaker 2: you studying at uni i assume you're going to.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I study a Bachelor of Social Work. I transferred
- 58:20Speaker 3: from business analytics the year before, so it's a bit
- 58:23Speaker 3: of a switch.
