Speaker 3: Coming up. It is a busy, busy weekend here in
1:43
Speaker 3: the Canal Valley. Lots of activities going on. We got
1:46
Speaker 3: boom days and Nitro, I mean, so many things going on,
1:49
Speaker 3: big happenings in Clindennon Tomorrow. The Mayor of Clindennon, Case Summers,
1:53
Speaker 3: is going to join me to talk about what they
1:54
Speaker 3: guy going on tomorrow. Plus for've been nearing one hundred
1:58
Speaker 3: years on this thing, the Putnam County home Coming we'll
2:01
Speaker 3: be taking place in Winfield. I'm going to talk to
2:02
Speaker 3: some folks from there, and also, did you happen to
2:07
Speaker 3: see the video of what happened last night at Shepherd University?
2:11
Speaker 3: What was supposed to be a civil conversation between Senators
2:14
Speaker 3: Capito and Mansion narrated by or moderated I should save
2:18
Speaker 3: our own hoppy KURCHI well got interrupted by some climate
2:21
Speaker 3: change idiots, and I'm going to give a little davitorial
2:25
Speaker 3: on that coming up a little bit later on, plus
2:27
Speaker 3: your calls and Texter, welcome to no hend of Gardner
2:30
Speaker 3: this week from the Canal Charles Newmain Association. And I'll
2:33
Speaker 3: tell you why a little bit later on, but we
2:35
Speaker 3: do have our document please pet of the weekend. I
2:37
Speaker 3: will talk about that coming up momentarily as well. So
2:40
Speaker 3: as you can imagine, we had a lot to get to.
2:41
Speaker 3: I want to start with high school football though tonight,
2:44
Speaker 3: two games on two different stations. Chris Lawrence and Aaron
2:47
Speaker 3: Parker will have coverage of the Hurricane game against Spring
2:51
Speaker 3: Valley and Hurricane on WCCHS, while Tom Bragg will have
2:54
Speaker 3: coverage of Hoover and Winfield from Hoover. Chris is with us. Chris,
2:58
Speaker 3: good morning, Hey, what's up many you, buddy.
3:00
Speaker 5: I'm doing well, looking forward to tonight. Did you know,
3:02
Speaker 5: as you mentioned that one hundredth anniversary in Winfield, it's
3:05
Speaker 5: this year is one hundred years of Hurricane football.
3:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that. Actually, I was looking at their
3:10
Speaker 3: social media earlier. They're playing that up. That's pretty big.
3:13
Speaker 5: Yeah, they are. They got a logo and everything, and
3:15
Speaker 5: it's sort of the theme this year. One hundred years
3:17
Speaker 5: of Redskins football. There, and they got Spring Valley coming
3:20
Speaker 5: in tonight, which is not necessarily an age old rivalry
3:24
Speaker 5: because Spring Valley has not been around all that long. However,
3:27
Speaker 5: these two teams have definitely had some spirited contests through
3:32
Speaker 5: the years, and it's two incredibly different styles of football.
3:36
Speaker 5: Spring Valley always is known to have the big, beefy
3:39
Speaker 5: guys up front and just will force their will on you,
3:42
Speaker 5: trying to just use brute force and strength, where Hurricane
3:45
Speaker 5: is more sleek and skilled. It's sort of like an
3:47
Speaker 5: F one fifty versus a Ferrari's kind of how the
3:50
Speaker 5: thing generally generally winds up. But this year Spring Valley
3:54
Speaker 5: does not have as many big bruising backs as they
3:56
Speaker 5: normally do. They've got some skill guys, so it'll be
3:59
Speaker 5: interesting to see how that dynamic plays out. I think
4:02
Speaker 5: they run out of the shotgun formation, although they still
4:04
Speaker 5: run a lot of stuff. It's more like an old
4:06
Speaker 5: school veer, Whereas Hurricane has a fantastic quarterback in Novella Tomby,
4:11
Speaker 5: and he is a threat to either run it or
4:13
Speaker 5: through it because they've got a catria of great receivers
4:15
Speaker 5: and a couple of really good running backs. And the
4:17
Speaker 5: fun thing about watching Hurricane football is it's tempo. Man,
4:20
Speaker 5: it's tempo. I mean, once the play is over, sometimes
4:23
Speaker 5: they're going faster than the referees can keep up. Donny
4:27
Speaker 5: May says he needs to put the referees on a
4:29
Speaker 5: conditioning program to do their games because it's just it's
4:33
Speaker 5: moving so fast, and when they get that rhythm going,
4:35
Speaker 5: they're really tough to deal with.
4:36
Speaker 3: That game against Huntington last week, and you had to
4:38
Speaker 3: call on that game. It was a shame that either
4:40
Speaker 3: team had to lose that game.
4:41
Speaker 2: Yeah it was.
4:41
Speaker 5: And you know, Hurricane really showed some guts there. They
4:45
Speaker 5: got down by two touchdowns, came right back and it
4:48
Speaker 5: came down to that one field goal at the end,
4:50
Speaker 5: and they just had a you know, a breakdown on
4:53
Speaker 5: protection and the kid from Huntington made a fantastic athletic
4:58
Speaker 5: play blocked the CA with four seconds to go, and
5:01
Speaker 5: that way Huntington prevails. But I think you come out
5:05
Speaker 5: of that game, if you're a Hurricane fan, you look
5:06
Speaker 5: at that and you know we're gonna be fine. That
5:08
Speaker 5: that team is really good and they're gonna win a
5:10
Speaker 5: lot of ball games this year, and I think down
5:12
Speaker 5: the stretch in the playoffs, they're gonna be one of
5:14
Speaker 5: those teams that is in contention to play for that
5:17
Speaker 5: first quad.
5:17
Speaker 3: A state title. Airtime tonight is what we on there.
5:20
Speaker 5: At seven o'clock from Hurricane and the kickoff is at
5:23
Speaker 5: seven thirty.
5:24
Speaker 3: Give me a quick preview of Western and outdoors. What
5:26
Speaker 3: do you got?
5:26
Speaker 5: Oh what are we talking about tomorrow? You caught me
5:29
Speaker 5: off guard, drawn a blank. Oh, we're gonna talk about
5:31
Speaker 5: jin saying we'll be sanging signing tomorrow. Have a guy
5:36
Speaker 5: on from the Divisional Forest. You're gonna help us talk
5:38
Speaker 5: a little bit about that. Also, we're going to talk
5:41
Speaker 5: about the Feds have handed out a lot of grants
5:46
Speaker 5: to help restore waters of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, and
5:50
Speaker 5: that includes a lot of projects in our West Virginia
5:52
Speaker 5: Mountain trout streams. So some representatives of Trout Unlimited are
5:57
Speaker 5: going to join me for that. Now, we got some
5:58
Speaker 5: other stuff to talk about tomorrow as well. Be on
6:00
Speaker 5: there at seven oh six in the morning.
6:01
Speaker 3: With that, all right, Chris, have a good broadcast tonight,
6:03
Speaker 3: you and Aaron Man. Thanks everybody, all right. Also that
6:06
Speaker 3: that game is on the WCHS networking stations. Also we're
6:09
Speaker 3: going to check in with Tom Bragg. Tom will have
6:11
Speaker 3: coverage from the Land of the Husky tonight is Hoover
6:14
Speaker 3: takes on the Generals of Winfield. Tom Good morning, Hi Dave,
6:17
Speaker 3: good morning. Great game last week for Hoover. Just like
6:20
Speaker 3: the Chris and I were just talking about the Huntington
6:22
Speaker 3: and Hurricane game. It's a shame that either team had
6:24
Speaker 3: to lose that game because you had a good one
6:26
Speaker 3: last week.
6:27
Speaker 6: Oh yeah, fantastic game to open the season last Thursday night.
6:30
Speaker 6: And elk you Between Herbert Hoover and Visiting Independence a
6:33
Speaker 6: rematch of the double A state title game from a
6:36
Speaker 6: couple of years ago, the Patriots one up in Wheeling.
6:39
Speaker 6: Hussy's got a little bit of revenge for that one.
6:41
Speaker 6: This time around, and they didn't make it easy. They
6:43
Speaker 6: were down sixteen points at halftime, had to stage a
6:46
Speaker 6: big comeback in the second half, and a big part
6:48
Speaker 6: of that was all that production they get out of
6:50
Speaker 6: the backfield. If you follow high school football in West Virginia,
6:53
Speaker 6: you've heard the name d Dane Hatfield. He's been one
6:55
Speaker 6: of the best quarterbacks certainly in the Canal Valley, if
6:57
Speaker 6: not the whole state, the last few years. He's back
7:00
Speaker 6: for his senior year kind of leading things for the Huskies.
7:03
Speaker 6: He had three total touchdowns, two of those coming in
7:05
Speaker 6: that second half, and the third of those was the
7:07
Speaker 6: one that capped it off and put him in the
7:09
Speaker 6: lead for good. But they've also got a couple other
7:11
Speaker 6: guys that can really play back there. Dave Blake Fisher,
7:14
Speaker 6: a junior. Joey Fields likes to move him around. Speaking
7:17
Speaker 6: with Joey this week, he'd really like to play him
7:19
Speaker 6: more at receiver just because of how good he is
7:22
Speaker 6: when he gets the ball in space. But he came
7:24
Speaker 6: up with two big runs for touchdowns in the second
7:26
Speaker 6: half against Independence last week. And don't sleep They've got
7:29
Speaker 6: a new player to hoover this year. Devin Silvis he's
7:32
Speaker 6: a transfer from Saint Albans. He came over after football
7:34
Speaker 6: last year so that he could wrestle at Herbert Hoover
7:37
Speaker 6: last school year. But Joey Fields really likes him. He
7:40
Speaker 6: thinks he's one of the more complete backs that he's
7:42
Speaker 6: had at Herbert Hoover the last few years, and that's
7:44
Speaker 6: saying something. So they've had some pretty capable guys. The
7:47
Speaker 6: other side of this game, Dave Winfield. You know Winfield
7:50
Speaker 6: and Herbert Hoover, they've been a long time Cardinal Conference
7:53
Speaker 6: rivals in the Double A classification. There are two of
7:55
Speaker 6: the teams in this new look Triple A this year.
7:57
Speaker 6: But you know, the goals are still the same. They
7:59
Speaker 6: want to win comp titles, they want to go far
8:01
Speaker 6: in the playoffs, and it seems like they've always got
8:03
Speaker 6: to go through each other to do it. They've split
8:05
Speaker 6: the last four. One of those was a playoff win
8:07
Speaker 6: for Herbert Hoover on that run to the Double A
8:09
Speaker 6: title game a couple of years ago. And the generals
8:12
Speaker 6: come in, want to know after off a big win
8:14
Speaker 6: at Lincoln County last week, forty eight to zero down
8:17
Speaker 6: in Hamlin, Aidan Hernandez really the guy that made a
8:20
Speaker 6: lot of that happen for him, one hundred and forty
8:22
Speaker 6: yards on just four carries. I don't have the average
8:24
Speaker 6: done out because I'm not a math major, Dave, but
8:25
Speaker 6: that's pretty good.
8:27
Speaker 3: He did well. That's all you need to know is
8:28
Speaker 3: he did well. He did well. There seems to be
8:31
Speaker 3: I mean, you know, the last couple of years, of course,
8:33
Speaker 3: with the new school and everything with Herbert Hoover Tom,
8:35
Speaker 3: there just seems to be like an air about Herbert
8:38
Speaker 3: Hoover football and that Herbert Herbert Hoover in general right now.
8:43
Speaker 6: Yeah, there's really in general, I think that's really fair
8:46
Speaker 6: across the board, not just with the new building, but
8:49
Speaker 6: you look at all of their sports. There's just there's
8:51
Speaker 6: some juice down there in LF right now, and I
8:53
Speaker 6: think the football team's kind of leading the way with that.
8:56
Speaker 6: Joey Fields has been there. I believe this is the
8:57
Speaker 6: fifth season with the Huskies now. And he wasn't just
9:01
Speaker 6: some guy that came in, you know. He came up
9:03
Speaker 6: down in the coalfield, studying under Yogi Kinder at Mingo
9:06
Speaker 6: Central and at MAT One. He went off to the
9:08
Speaker 6: Eastern Panhandle and was an assistant coach for Dave Walker
9:11
Speaker 6: at Martinsburg, So he was around big time programs that
9:15
Speaker 6: won a lot of games and produced a lot of
9:17
Speaker 6: really good players. So I'm not too surprised to see
9:20
Speaker 6: him kind of have that going in lfieve now that
9:22
Speaker 6: he's been there a few years.
9:23
Speaker 3: All right, what time's coverage start tonight, Tom.
9:25
Speaker 6: So kick off at seven o'clock. We usually go about
9:27
Speaker 6: five ten minutes before that to look first round six
9:29
Speaker 6: fifty on ninety six to one KWS.
9:31
Speaker 3: All right, Tom, I appreciate it, and this is going
9:32
Speaker 3: to be a weekly gig for you, man, So we'll
9:34
Speaker 3: talk to you again next week. Thanks a lot.
9:36
Speaker 6: Absolutely, we'll talk to you then.
9:37
Speaker 3: Dave tom Bragg again, he's got the call of Hoover tonight.
9:41
Speaker 3: It's going to be a great game. And again the
9:42
Speaker 3: Hoover games can be heard on ninety six to one KWS.
9:45
Speaker 3: And then Chris has got the Hurricane Spring Valley game.
9:47
Speaker 3: Chris and Aaron Parker will had that game, and we'll
9:50
Speaker 3: have coverage on WCHS for those games. That's the way
9:53
Speaker 3: we're doing it this year. We got Hurricane on WCCHS,
9:55
Speaker 3: and we got Hoover's games on ninety six to one
9:57
Speaker 3: kws SO Dave Allen Show in five Live Bright to
10:00
Speaker 3: You part by Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
10:03
Speaker 3: So apparently a funny thing happened with the staff of
10:07
Speaker 3: the Canal Charlety Main Association. And I say that, you know,
10:11
Speaker 3: not to be mean, but but they all got sick.
10:13
Speaker 3: I mean like all of them, like I don't know Jeff,
10:15
Speaker 3: like kennel cough or something. Anyway, we don't have Hannah
10:18
Speaker 3: Gardener or Angie Gillenwater this morning, so you're stuck with
10:20
Speaker 3: me telling you about our adopt me police pet of
10:23
Speaker 3: the week. His name is Homer now as always our dog,
10:27
Speaker 3: our cat whatever. We're featuring the pictures posted on Dave
10:29
Speaker 3: Island Radio on Facebook. We're at Dave A seventy on
10:33
Speaker 3: x Homer is our pet of the week. Interesting story.
10:37
Speaker 3: Homer had a variety of families that have taken him
10:41
Speaker 3: out for foster care and it all went well. But
10:43
Speaker 3: foster care, you know, with animals, is just like a
10:46
Speaker 3: short term thing until they bring him back. And apparently,
10:49
Speaker 3: according and talking to Handle last night, apparently what happens
10:52
Speaker 3: is is that he just suffers from a lot of anxiety.
10:55
Speaker 3: Once they bring him back, and I mean, think about it,
11:00
Speaker 3: who could blame him? I mean, you get busted out
11:04
Speaker 3: of the joint, only to be brought back again. They
11:07
Speaker 3: tell me, though, that this dog would make a perfect
11:09
Speaker 3: pet for a family. He's super friendly, around ten months old,
11:12
Speaker 3: not fixed yet but he will be. Loves kids, other
11:15
Speaker 3: playful dogs, loves car rides, and loves to watch TV.
11:19
Speaker 3: I thought I have a cat that loves to watch TV.
11:21
Speaker 3: I thought I didn't think a lot of animals did that,
11:23
Speaker 3: But apparently Homer enjoys it as well. He seems to
11:26
Speaker 3: be okay with cats. He is microchipped and vaccinated. He
11:29
Speaker 3: is around forty seven pounds, so he may get a
11:32
Speaker 3: tad bigger. Does not do well with chicken or livestock.
11:36
Speaker 3: I understand cats. Other dogs okay, no chickens, no livestock.
11:42
Speaker 3: We've got a Homer's picture. Posted it to Dave Alan
11:44
Speaker 3: Radio and Facebook and at Dave a seventy on x
11:46
Speaker 3: the artist formally known as Twitter. A couple of other
11:50
Speaker 3: notes from the Shelter One week and a day away
11:52
Speaker 3: from their Kegs for Canines event. This is their annual
11:55
Speaker 3: fundraiser that they do with the Red Carpet Lounge and
11:57
Speaker 3: Elizabeth Street. Well, they actually have information a lot posted
12:00
Speaker 3: on their social media pages, and yesterday apparently they just
12:04
Speaker 3: received a lot of puppies that were draft dropped off
12:08
Speaker 3: there yesterday. I mean a lot a lot of them.
12:11
Speaker 3: So go check out the pictures and go adopt some
12:14
Speaker 3: pets and hopefully we'll have had our Angie back on
12:17
Speaker 3: with us next week. But again, Homer is our pet
12:20
Speaker 3: of the week. I've got Homer's picture posted on Dave
12:23
Speaker 3: Island Radio on Facebook again. He is around forty seven pounds,
12:26
Speaker 3: about ten months old, not fixed yet but will be,
12:30
Speaker 3: is already vaccinated, he is microchipped, does well with other dogs,
12:36
Speaker 3: does well with kids, seems to do well with cats.
12:38
Speaker 3: Just don't take him down on the farm because he
12:40
Speaker 3: is not a farm dog. He likes cats, no chickens,
12:45
Speaker 3: no chickens. So Homers are pet. Please go adopt and
12:48

13:33

16:49
Speaker 3: seen the video. We had it posted and it's actually
16:51
Speaker 3: posted now wv Metronews dot com and I've got it
16:53
Speaker 3: posted on Dave Allan Radio on Facebook. Last night there
16:57
Speaker 3: was a what was supposedly a just a civil little
17:00
Speaker 3: discussion that was supposed to happen on the campus of
17:03
Speaker 3: Sheppard University, sponsored by the Stubblefield Institute. It featured Senator
17:07
Speaker 3: Joe Manchin and Senator Shelley Moore Capito, moderated by Hobby
17:10
Speaker 3: kerchival Well. Some climates folks decided to disrupt the entire thing,
17:16
Speaker 3: and I'm going to talk about that little davittorial coming
17:19
Speaker 3: up for you a little bit later on. So that's
17:22
Speaker 3: coming up. It is an event that has been going
17:25
Speaker 3: on since nineteen twenty nine and it's back this weekend
17:28
Speaker 3: in Winfield, the annual Putnam County Homecoming. Charles Mays is
17:31
Speaker 3: one of the organizers and he joins us now, good morning, sir,
17:34
Speaker 3: welcome to the.
17:34
Speaker 11: Show, Good morning day, Thank you for having me.
17:38
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. Now, before we get to
17:40
Speaker 3: the Homecoming. You've never been on the show. I've had
17:42
Speaker 3: various people over the years to talk about the homecoming.
17:44
Speaker 3: Tell us a little bit more about you, because you're
17:47
Speaker 3: kind of a busy guy. Is that right. You're not
17:49
Speaker 3: just organizing festivals, you're doing other stuff too, right.
17:52
Speaker 11: Yes, I'm also the pastor at Winfield United Methodist Church.
17:56
Speaker 11: I'm involved in a lot of other activities in the
18:00
Speaker 11: People will.
18:00
Speaker 3: Say, well, I wanted to give you an opportunity because
18:03
Speaker 3: you and I talked in the phone the other day
18:05
Speaker 3: and you told me you were a church pastor, so
18:06
Speaker 3: I thought i'd give you And we're not going to
18:08
Speaker 3: send you a bill or anything, Charles, I promise. I
18:10
Speaker 3: thought I thought you might want to give a little
18:11
Speaker 3: plug for your church. Go ahead.
18:14
Speaker 11: Well, we are one of many churches in the Winfield area,
18:17
Speaker 11: and we are happily joining with other churches for Sunday
18:22
Speaker 11: morning community worship service. There'll be five churches in all.
18:26
Speaker 11: We will have a guest speaker we're bringing in from
18:29
Speaker 11: North Carolina, and it promises to be a wonderful morning
18:35
Speaker 11: of worship and fellowship and we're looking forward to that.
18:39
Speaker 11: It's just a great time to go out We're not
18:42
Speaker 11: concerned with what name is over your church door or
18:45
Speaker 11: on your sign it. It's just we all serve the
18:47
Speaker 11: same Lord and we are going to get together and
18:51
Speaker 11: rejoice in that.
18:52
Speaker 3: And that's on Sunday. But take it from the top
18:55
Speaker 3: about what goes on at the Putnam County home Coming.
18:58
Speaker 3: I've lived there for ten years and I've been there
19:00
Speaker 3: several times, and it will probably be there this weekend too,
19:03
Speaker 3: So for people that don't know what all goes on
19:06
Speaker 3: with this homecoming festival, just take it from the top.
19:08
Speaker 11: We'll start on Saturday. We will have as we get
19:12
Speaker 11: all the vendors in and have been set up, about
19:16
Speaker 11: one o'clock, we will have a history presentation with Joyce
19:20
Speaker 11: Hannah and that will be at the Cross Point Family
19:23
Speaker 11: Church that will be adjacent to the main stage there
19:27
Speaker 11: on Main Street. And then we have music and Magic
19:32
Speaker 11: Town up all day long. About every hour on the hour,
19:34
Speaker 11: we will have something new. We will close out with
19:37
Speaker 11: Appalachian Rain. There will be a car show going on
19:41
Speaker 11: as well at the courthouse. So there's a lot of
19:44
Speaker 11: things going on on Saturday. There's plenty of activities. There's
19:47
Speaker 11: petting zoo, there are inflatables, c AMC will have a
19:51
Speaker 11: health fare. I'll probably go early before I stop at
19:54
Speaker 11: all the food vendors we'll have, well, I'm going to
19:58
Speaker 11: just confess early.
19:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead.
20:00
Speaker 11: Well, we will have putt putt and a lot of
20:03
Speaker 11: things there. The main thing too, it's just a come early,
20:06
Speaker 11: stay late. It's a great time for your family to
20:09
Speaker 11: catch up with friends you haven't seen for a while.
20:13
Speaker 11: It's just there will be food venders, but if you
20:17
Speaker 11: want to come and bring your own meal, if you
20:20
Speaker 11: want to bring a picnic lunch, there are tables and
20:22
Speaker 11: chairs available to just set and again catch up and
20:26
Speaker 11: have a good time with your friends. And Sunday, like
20:29
Speaker 11: you mentioned, it will start at ten o'clock with the
20:31
Speaker 11: Winfield High School Band playing our national anthem there at
20:35
Speaker 11: the courthouse, and then at ten forty five our community
20:38
Speaker 11: worship service will start. We will have a gospel group
20:41
Speaker 11: and then the moment we've been waiting for, we will
20:44
Speaker 11: have our intros and then we will have one point
20:46
Speaker 11: thirty have a parade. It is promising to be a
20:51
Speaker 11: very good parade as it was last year. Two thirty.
20:54
Speaker 11: The Appalachian Lassies, the dance team will be there. They're
20:57
Speaker 11: very cute. They'll be right there on the street and
21:01
Speaker 11: at four o'clock we will have the crowning of miss
21:04
Speaker 11: Putnam County. So there's something going on all day long
21:08
Speaker 11: and something.
21:09
Speaker 3: For everyone, and a lot of great music is always
21:11
Speaker 3: and you kind of touched on. This is one of
21:13
Speaker 3: the things I've learned in attending this thing over the year, Charles,
21:16
Speaker 3: is the music. There's a little bit of something for
21:18
Speaker 3: everybody as far as the music goes.
21:20
Speaker 11: Oh, most definitely we have Joonah Cloude, Joey's staff, Lost Calls.
21:24
Speaker 11: We had some great bands lined up and I'm looking
21:28
Speaker 11: forward to hearing of hearing them all. Like we talked about,
21:32
Speaker 11: it's something for everyone, every listener, and give yourself a
21:36
Speaker 11: chance and said, and listen, you might find a style
21:40
Speaker 11: of music you that not listened to before and find
21:42
Speaker 11: yourself like it. But we're supporting local groups and local bands,
21:47
Speaker 11: local vendors and artisans and that's what makes it special
21:51
Speaker 11: as well.
21:51
Speaker 3: Now this has been going on, I said this in
21:53
Speaker 3: the intro, Charles, this has been going on for since
21:56
Speaker 3: nineteen twenty nine. Is there any truth to the rumor
21:58
Speaker 3: that Winfield Mayor Randy Barrett has been at all of them.
22:03
Speaker 11: Okay, I can neither confirm nor than not. I just
22:09
Speaker 11: I have to drive through Windfield, so I'm gonna be
22:11
Speaker 11: I'm gonna play at.
22:12
Speaker 3: Safe Okay, Well he's wanted to actually, you know, I
22:15
Speaker 3: kind of liak to you an eye up. So Randy
22:17
Speaker 3: is a good dude. I love I love having him
22:18
Speaker 3: on the show and this thing. Like I said, you know,
22:20
Speaker 3: festivals come and go in different events, and so there's
22:23
Speaker 3: so many to go on that I can't cover them all.
22:24
Speaker 3: But when you've been doing something as this Winfield community
22:28
Speaker 3: and all I mean really all of Putnham County and
22:30
Speaker 3: the surrounding areas come out for this thing. You've been
22:32
Speaker 3: doing it since nineteen twenty nine, you got a legacy, man,
22:35
Speaker 3: and there's and there's obviously you must be doing something right.
22:39
Speaker 11: Isn't that incredible? Ninety five years of doing this. It's
22:42
Speaker 11: just absolutely incredible, and it's for me, it's an honor
22:46
Speaker 11: to be a part of this this past year and
22:49
Speaker 11: in the years to come. I'm looking forward to this,
22:51
Speaker 11: but it grows each year. They still want to stay
22:55
Speaker 11: family focused and focused upon the area, the Puttnam County area,
23:00
Speaker 11: but it is incredible and I hope to see this
23:03
Speaker 11: going on ninety five more years and Randy can again
23:06
Speaker 11: be leading the terrade.
23:08
Speaker 3: I'm sure he will be. Just don't go, you know,
23:11
Speaker 3: thirty six in the town, right, you know, if it's
23:13
Speaker 3: thirty five, he can just don't do thirty six, all right.
23:16
Speaker 3: I know that the City of Winfield's Facebook page has
23:18
Speaker 3: a lot of information. Out of Charles is that is
23:20
Speaker 3: that really the best place to get the information right now?
23:23
Speaker 11: That is the best place to get your information. We
23:25
Speaker 11: also have the Putnam County Homecoming Festival Facebook page where
23:29
Speaker 11: you can go out and find a lot of information.
23:31
Speaker 11: There's also our website where you could go out and
23:35
Speaker 11: see all the updated information. Hopefully we will be able
23:38
Speaker 11: to live stream some of this. I don't know yet.
23:40
Speaker 11: It's dependent upon technology.
23:44
Speaker 3: I got you, I got you, all right, So things
23:46
Speaker 3: get underway tomorrow morning. What's the what's the start time? Tomorrow?
23:50
Speaker 11: One o'clock. I would just I can't come early. Don't
23:54
Speaker 11: wait till starting time. Come early, get a good parking spot.
23:56
Speaker 11: There's parking all over the place. But around noon will
24:00
Speaker 11: be setting up and then again at one o'clock there
24:02
Speaker 11: will be a history presentation of the Pundam County and
24:07
Speaker 11: all of the areas. The more I drive around, the
24:10
Speaker 11: more I have learned. And I was not a good
24:12
Speaker 11: history student in school, but I have found it to
24:15
Speaker 11: be so fascinating and I'm just taking advantage of eating
24:19
Speaker 11: this up now. All right, I'm looking forward to Joyce's presentation.
24:24
Speaker 3: It's going to be a great, great weekend. Hopefully the
24:27
Speaker 3: weather will cooperate. Looks like it's going to do so
24:30
Speaker 3: of the weather folks are saying we're going to have
24:32
Speaker 3: rain like late to night and overnight, but should clear
24:34
Speaker 3: out for the weekend and be real nice, especially on Sunday.
24:36
Speaker 3: So Charles, I appreciate you joining us on the show.
24:39
Speaker 3: We'll see you this weekend. Man, thanks a lot.
24:41
Speaker 11: All right, Jay, thank you very much.

Speaker 3: Public Safety radio feed? Have they changed their delivery method? Well,
30:20
Speaker 3: I saw the text came in about ten minutes ago.
30:22
Speaker 3: So during the break I texted my good friend Johnny
30:25
Speaker 3: Rutherford Metro nine to one one and he said, this, Dave,
30:29

31:05
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here. And also we're here to
31:08
Speaker 3: talk about several things with Clint Dennon, but primarily the
31:11
Speaker 3: big event to mar it's called Chilling on the Elk
31:14
Speaker 3: Chili cook off with craft beer, music, arts, crafts, kid Zone.
31:18
Speaker 3: Mayor Summers here to talk about. Also, Kerrie Meyer is here. Carrie,
31:20
Speaker 3: good morning, Good morning, welcome to the show.
31:22
Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
31:23
Speaker 3: And you want to give a shout out to your husband. Yeah,
31:25
Speaker 3: because there's the reason I say this is because we
31:27
Speaker 3: were walking in he said, my husband is a big
31:29
Speaker 3: is a big fan of yours.
31:30
Speaker 4: I did and he actually just text and told me
31:33
Speaker 4: he's listening.
31:34
Speaker 14: Okay, I need to say hi to him too because
31:37
Speaker 14: he's my friend. Okay, by coach, my.
31:40
Speaker 3: Coach, Myers.
31:41
Speaker 4: He's more popular for his shop program at Hoover. The
31:46
Speaker 4: teacher of this shop program. They just finished a huge
31:50
Speaker 4: project at the Canalla County Board of Education.
31:52
Speaker 3: Now what is your Are you the director of this
31:54
Speaker 3: big event that's going on tomorrow? You a person comity chair?
31:58
Speaker 4: It's my baby. It's a great event. We have a
32:03
Speaker 4: variety of things to offer for everyone. General admissions free.
32:08
Speaker 4: You only have to pay if you want a sample beer,
32:11
Speaker 4: wine or chili.
32:12
Speaker 3: What time did everything get underway?
32:13
Speaker 4: Eleven o'clock in the morning.
32:15
Speaker 3: And everything just primarily right there in the heartown.
32:17
Speaker 4: On Main Street and Elk Avenue, right in front of
32:20
Speaker 4: the dock Harper Stage.
32:22
Speaker 3: Now where did the whole idea for this thing come from?
32:25
Speaker 4: Well, I was floating down the river one day with
32:28
Speaker 4: a group of people had never been on the Elk River,
32:31
Speaker 4: and I said, you know, I'd like to do something
32:32
Speaker 4: from my hometown. I'd like to do something to bring
32:35
Speaker 4: people in and see what I experienced as a child
32:39
Speaker 4: growing up in Clinton, and and that was we had
32:43
Speaker 4: wonderful festivals and fairs, and people got together on the
32:46
Speaker 4: streets and kids rammed around parents. I mean you just
32:51
Speaker 4: everybody knew everyone and it was a comfortable environment, and
32:54
Speaker 4: it was fun. It was very enjoyable as a child
32:59
Speaker 4: to that, and I thought, I want to do something
33:04
Speaker 4: for my hometown. And Mayor Summers has done so much
33:07
Speaker 4: for the town of Clintennon to bring back that that experience,
33:13
Speaker 4: and I just wanted to help.
33:16
Speaker 14: I guess she has. She's done a fantastic job. And
33:19
Speaker 14: it's a lot of hard work. Today this is over,
33:21
Speaker 14: She'll start planning for next year.
33:23
Speaker 3: That's the way you have to do it. Yes, And
33:27
Speaker 3: there's nothing. And I come from a small town. I
33:29
Speaker 3: talked about on the show before. There's nothing like a
33:31
Speaker 3: small town gathering, like a festival. And I just had
33:34
Speaker 3: on the folks from Putnam County. They have their Putnam
33:36
Speaker 3: County homecoming this week. And you get these I mean,
33:38
Speaker 3: with all due respect to their God, and which are
33:40
Speaker 3: wonderful events. Ribfest is happening here in Charleston next week.
33:43
Speaker 3: I'm gonna be a big part of that. But there's
33:44
Speaker 3: something about these small towns, the Clintdennons, the Winfields or whatever,
33:49
Speaker 3: when everybody just kind of comes, it's like a basic
33:51
Speaker 3: family reunion. People that have moved out of state, many
33:53
Speaker 3: of them come back for these reunions. There's nothing like it, Carrie, No,
33:57
Speaker 3: there's not.
33:57
Speaker 4: And it's it's a high school reunion, and it's a
34:01
Speaker 4: reunion for many classes of those that graduated from our schools.
34:07
Speaker 4: And we see people from infants to seventy eighty years old,
34:14
Speaker 4: and there's something for everyone. And that's what I wanted
34:17
Speaker 4: to do. You know, you don't want to have beer
34:19
Speaker 4: and wine, don't have some chili, or visit the craft vendors,
34:24
Speaker 4: or listen to the free music or play in the
34:26
Speaker 4: free kids area.
34:28
Speaker 3: I mean you could the fat family could come out
34:30
Speaker 3: and ideally we'd like them to spend a little money,
34:32
Speaker 3: but if they don't, they could ideally have a great
34:34
Speaker 3: day at zero cost if they wanted to do that.
34:36
Speaker 4: And they can go into the local restaurants and have lunch,
34:39
Speaker 4: you know, grab a coffee at Fox Coffee, ice cream
34:43
Speaker 4: at the bakery, or a pizza, or you can go
34:46
Speaker 4: into the brewery or paddlers. There's just a lot to
34:49
Speaker 4: offer now and it's so nice to see that. Coming
34:53
Speaker 4: back to Clinton.
34:55
Speaker 3: Mayor, I want to talk about the resurgence of the town.
34:58
Speaker 3: We'll turn back the clock to this time in September
35:00
Speaker 3: twenty sixteen. The devastating floods that happened a couple months
35:04
Speaker 3: before that. And I know you're a fighter, as are
35:06
Speaker 3: the people mayor of Clinton, but back then, I mean
35:10
Speaker 3: an event like this, you know, you always knew Clinton
35:13
Speaker 3: would would bounce back and be bigger, better than ever.
35:15
Speaker 3: But it's probably hard in your mind at that time
35:17
Speaker 3: to think are we ever going to recover from this?
35:18
Speaker 14: By God, you did, You're right, because we didn't think
35:21
Speaker 14: we could. I mean, it was so far, to be truthful,
35:24
Speaker 14: even a couple of years before the flood things that
35:26
Speaker 14: started going down, and so it was really tough. And
35:29
Speaker 14: when Carrie came and approached me with the idea, I said, oh, Kerrie,
35:33
Speaker 14: I love it. Let's do it. Go ahead, And man,
35:35
Speaker 14: she took the bull by the horns. And we're trying
35:38
Speaker 14: to have more things on the street and more festivals,
35:41
Speaker 14: more gatherings, kids night, we have a movie night or
35:45
Speaker 14: game nights, and so we're doing different things, like a
35:48
Speaker 14: local bakery is going to do a karaoke Disney karaoke
35:51
Speaker 14: for the kids, and just so everybody's with Carrie doing this.
35:56
Speaker 14: It was sort of like a start for us. It
35:58
Speaker 14: was sort of like a booze and all the businesses
36:01
Speaker 14: are trying to do things to bring people in town.
36:03
Speaker 3: I want to talk about the businesses. Carrie mentioned the restaurants.
36:06
Speaker 3: I know there have been a few that have popped up.
36:08
Speaker 3: Talk about the business climate right now on Clintall, I
36:10
Speaker 3: wanted to talk about that.
36:11
Speaker 14: I'm very proud of it. We're doing well. We have,
36:14
Speaker 14: like she said, we have a it's called Lisa's Boutique,
36:19
Speaker 14: but it has a coffee bar and drinks and all that,
36:22
Speaker 14: and it's really doing well. People are coming all the
36:25
Speaker 14: way up from Elfew Charleston to have the different coffees
36:28
Speaker 14: and so it's been a real success. That's something I
36:31
Speaker 14: wanted to do a long time ago, and I said, hey,
36:33
Speaker 14: it's working. So Lisa has a boutique in the coffee
36:36
Speaker 14: shop and the same thing. Then we have the bakery
36:39
Speaker 14: and now she's opened up. She serves food to us well.
36:42
Speaker 14: And now we have an ice cream shop so people
36:45
Speaker 14: come and get ice cream, cones, floats and all that
36:48
Speaker 14: with that, and then we have it's called Pizza on
36:52
Speaker 14: Maine because it's on Main Street and it's like the
36:54
Speaker 14: New York style pizza. But we also have Giovanni still
36:57
Speaker 14: and they've been very loyal to us before. And then
37:01
Speaker 14: the brewery has food as well. And then we have
37:06
Speaker 14: a frost Bite, so we have food. Anybody wants food,
37:09
Speaker 14: we have it. And that's one of the things Carrie
37:11
Speaker 14: is included in her advertisement that the people are will
37:14
Speaker 14: be open to have all the foods available to I.
37:18
Speaker 4: Will I will say this, and I've heard it, and
37:21
Speaker 4: it's just because my husband loves that. The brewery is
37:24
Speaker 4: now making a Cubana and it's supposed to be very very.
37:30
Speaker 14: I've had everyone of them Cubans hard to find.
37:33
Speaker 3: The Cuban sandwich, yes, much of that's my wife's favorite sandwich.
37:36
Speaker 3: We may be we may be going to you need
37:39
Speaker 3: to see.
37:39
Speaker 14: We love to have and they remodeled. It's just nice.
37:43
Speaker 14: The brewery. The Bruits is like Cheers. Everybody knows everybody,
37:48
Speaker 14: and you don't have to drink alcoholic beverages. They have
37:51
Speaker 14: other beverages with food and they want the other restaurants
37:55
Speaker 14: to bring If you want to go someplace else and
37:57
Speaker 14: bring in a pizza and bring it in and eat it,
37:59
Speaker 14: that's fine.
38:00
Speaker 3: That's a novel con yes, and they're all doing that.
38:03
Speaker 14: And you can take your what your sandwich into someplace
38:06
Speaker 14: else and eat there. So they're all working together. It's
38:10
Speaker 14: just it's a great atmosphere and we're just so proud
38:12
Speaker 14: of what everybody's doing together.
38:14
Speaker 3: So but a violand showing five any line bright to

38:33
Speaker 3: I know that, you know. I have mayors on the
38:35
Speaker 3: on the show all the time, from everywhere from Saint
38:37
Speaker 3: Albans to Winfield to Hurricane to Charleston, you know, and
38:40
Speaker 3: all points in between. Every everybody.
38:44
Speaker 10: You know.
38:44
Speaker 3: Obviously, if you unless you had a deep love for
38:46
Speaker 3: your town, you wouldn't run for mayor or city council
38:49
Speaker 3: or serve liking committees like carry does or whatever. But
38:52
Speaker 3: you're you're You're a special kind of cheerleader Clint for Clinton.
38:56
Speaker 3: You you you walk the walk and talk to talk Honey,
38:59
Speaker 3: you really love this town.
39:00
Speaker 2: I do.
39:01
Speaker 14: I love it and I really I don't like hearing no.
39:04
Speaker 14: If the word is no, I try to work around that.
39:07
Speaker 14: Carries a lot like me in that, but you know,
39:10
Speaker 14: you do have to love your town and you have
39:12
Speaker 14: to be able to take calls at three o'clock in
39:15
Speaker 14: the morning or at three o'clock in the afternoon. And
39:17
Speaker 14: it's more than an eight hour job for me. I mean,
39:20
Speaker 14: it's like a twenty four to seven.
39:21
Speaker 4: And it's a nice it is.
39:24
Speaker 14: It is what we do. But we have I've seen
39:27
Speaker 14: so much improvement is coming back, and I'm just very
39:30
Speaker 14: very proud. We're getting a new boat ramp. So I
39:34
Speaker 14: just want you to come up and bring your wife
39:36
Speaker 14: and see all the things we've done in the trail.
39:37
Speaker 14: We're paving more of the trail and so that's another
39:41
Speaker 14: thing too, And everybody's bringing their bikes and strollers and
39:44
Speaker 14: horses and it's just a great opportunity. You talk about
39:48
Speaker 14: healthy health right there. You get out and you walk it,
39:51
Speaker 14: and then we're getting a bike bike park is going
39:54
Speaker 14: to start. We've been approved for all that. So it's
39:57
Speaker 14: all happening.
39:58
Speaker 3: A lot of good stuff going on, I'll tell you,
40:01
Speaker 3: there seems to be. And I talked about this with
40:03
Speaker 3: Tom Bragg, who's doing our play by play for Herbert Hoover. Yes, Love,
40:06
Speaker 3: we're doing this year. Uh, there just seems to be
40:08
Speaker 3: a little bit of swagger coming out of that area
40:11
Speaker 3: with you know. Uh, and there always has been been
40:14
Speaker 3: the Elk River area, but especially with Hoover and the
40:16
Speaker 3: school and everything there. So there's a lot of good
40:19
Speaker 3: things going on up there, not just athletically, that's right
40:22
Speaker 3: in all in all.
40:23
Speaker 14: Sport in all. But you know, we had the we
40:27
Speaker 14: opened the elementary school after eighty years this year for
40:31
Speaker 14: the first day of school. And uh, we're so proud
40:34
Speaker 14: that I'm proud to had a school bike in the
40:36
Speaker 14: town of Clinton. And then Hoover is fantastic And like
40:39
Speaker 14: you say, you're doing all the games, the crowds come
40:41
Speaker 14: out Elk River community. Uh supports their community. So when
40:46
Speaker 14: I say Clinton and I say Elkriver and love of
40:48
Speaker 14: Elk River, people will come up for this. But we're
40:50
Speaker 14: very for We're just a different breed of people.
40:53
Speaker 3: Nothing wrong with that. Well, let's let's go back to
40:56
Speaker 3: the events that are going on to mar Caerry. I'll
40:58
Speaker 3: let you wrap us up by by taking it the top.

41:24
Speaker 4: Chili sampling wristbands are for beer in mine, I'm sorry three.
41:28
Speaker 14: Other words like you said, everything else is frue.
41:31

41:35
Speaker 4: you can get thirty tickets for twenty dollars. We have
41:37

42:00
Speaker 4: starting at twelve thirty tomorrow afternoon. It's Main Street and
42:06
Speaker 4: Elk Avenue in Clinton, in the little town of Clinton
42:09
Speaker 4: there's parking everywhere and free parking. Free parking, that's right,
42:15
Speaker 4: and sometimes you can catch a ride on an ATV
42:17
Speaker 4: if you have to park across through it whatever, just
42:20
Speaker 4: get there.
42:20
Speaker 3: Well, as I mentioned earlier about the other but some
42:23
Speaker 3: of the other events, the weather folks say that there's
42:25
Speaker 3: gonna be like some rain like late tonight, but should
42:27
Speaker 3: be cleared out by tomorrow.
42:28
Speaker 4: Yes, it's supposed to be moved out by nine am.
42:31
Speaker 4: We also one thing I forgot to tell you. We
42:33
Speaker 4: have a five k walk run at nine am in
42:35
Speaker 4: the morning and that benefits the Hoover boosters.
42:38

45:41
Speaker 3: the Canawa County Public Safety radio feed, and yeah, I've
45:45
Speaker 3: been texting back and forth with Johnny Rutherford here trying
45:48
Speaker 3: to get this person to text it in all taking
45:50
Speaker 3: care of here. They had texted earlier and said that
45:52
Speaker 3: they were not able to access the Canawa County Public
45:54
Speaker 3: Safety radio feed wanted to know if they had changed
45:57
Speaker 3: their delivery method. I during the break and while I
46:00
Speaker 3: was on the air multitasking a little bit, texting with
46:02
Speaker 3: Johnny Rutherford and asking about that. And Johnny, the friend
46:06
Speaker 3: of the show and the director of Metro nine one one,
46:09
Speaker 3: says that today haven't changed anything, but Johnny is going
46:12
Speaker 3: to texture. Johnny has your number and he is going
46:16
Speaker 3: to reach out. He or someone will be reaching out
46:18

46:24
Speaker 3: on Fired Up Friday. The school has a mascot head
46:26
Speaker 3: of a Native American? Is it just wilful ignorance? Well,
46:29
Speaker 3: I mean their nickname is the Indians. Right now, I
46:31
Speaker 3: think if I'm correct, I think they're playing Alma Monitor.
46:34
Speaker 3: It's night but Logan Wilkins and this what the texture
46:37
Speaker 3: is referring to is the Fired Up Friday. That's a
46:38
Speaker 3: segment that Joseph Payton does on WSAZ television each Friday
46:43
Speaker 3: morning when he goes into schools and gets him up
46:46
Speaker 3: early about six am, you know, tries to get them
46:48
Speaker 3: all fired up and everything. I didn't see the segment
46:50
Speaker 3: this morning, but the texture apparently taking issue with the
46:53
Speaker 3: fact that Systonville High School has the head of a
46:55
Speaker 3: Native American wanting to know if it's just willful ignorance. Well,
46:58
Speaker 3: this is a this is a battle, but it's been
47:00
Speaker 3: going on for some time over the usage of Native
47:04
Speaker 3: American names. You know, the Washington Redskins, the nemesis of
47:08
Speaker 3: my Dallas Cowboys. They're no longer that, you know. The
47:10
Speaker 3: Cleveland Indians are no longer the Indians that are now
47:13
Speaker 3: the Guardians. Hurricane High School is maintaining the Redskin thing,
47:18
Speaker 3: and as are other teams like Florida State Seminoles and
47:22
Speaker 3: Atlanta Braves and so on, so and just so many
47:24
Speaker 3: different nuances. I'll leave that up to the sports guys.

47:46
Speaker 3: All right, so I kind of touched on this a
47:48
Speaker 3: little bit throughout the show. Last night on the campus
47:53
Speaker 3: of Shepherd University, there was a forum held. It was
47:56
Speaker 3: designed to be a civil discussion between Senators Joe Manchin,
48:02
Speaker 3: Independent West Virginia and Cheldymore Capitol, Republican West Virginia, moderated
48:06
Speaker 3: by our own Hoppy Kerchival and put on by the
48:09
Speaker 3: Stubblefield Institute. A nice civil discussion between the three of them.
48:14
Speaker 3: We actually aired it live I think on Metro News Television.
48:18
Speaker 3: I know we also aired it on this station. And
48:21
Speaker 3: you know, Mansion and Capitol are good friends. They're at
48:24
Speaker 3: events together. They issued joint press releases, you well, Independent
48:29
Speaker 3: Now and Republican. But the discussions were interrupted and I
48:36
Speaker 3: and look the opinions, like we said top of the show,
48:38
Speaker 3: the opinions given here are the opinions of me, not
48:40
Speaker 3: the company, anybody else, just just me, just Dave. These
48:44
Speaker 3: morons with the group Climate Defense, the client Climate Defense
48:49
Speaker 3: Defiance Group, I think is what they're called, just rush
48:52
Speaker 3: the stage. And you may remember then this is the
48:56
Speaker 3: same group that crashed a meeting that Senator Manchon was
48:59
Speaker 3: having a few months ago and quickly got tossed out
49:02
Speaker 3: on their collective butts by a mansion staffer. And I'm
49:07
Speaker 3: just wondering where that guy was last night, because they
49:11
Speaker 3: definitely could have used him. And make no mistake about it,
49:16
Speaker 3: these are environmental whack jobs. As Manchin has said, he
49:21
Speaker 3: said on this very show when I had him on
49:23
Speaker 3: to talk about a couple of months ago, these people
49:26
Speaker 3: are not interested in discussion. They only want to disrupt
49:32
Speaker 3: and to be seen. And as Senator Manchin said, he
49:37
Speaker 3: is offered to sit down at the table with them,
49:39
Speaker 3: but they seemingly have no interest in that. And look,
49:44
Speaker 3: I am the ultimate free speech guy. You guys know
49:47
Speaker 3: that you've listened to me on the show. I am.
49:49
Speaker 3: I am the most free speech guy you can ever believe.
49:52
Speaker 3: You can protest to your little pink o heart's desire outside.
49:59
Speaker 3: But if the very people that you are protesting against
50:06
Speaker 3: offered to sit down with you in a room to
50:09
Speaker 3: discuss it like civil adults, and you turned them down,
50:13
Speaker 3: then what the hell is the point? It is worth noting,
50:20
Speaker 3: as we pointed out in our news stories, these protesters
50:22
Speaker 3: were not Shepherd University students, more more than likely paid agitators,
50:31
Speaker 3: and we've seen them all over the state and all
50:35
Speaker 3: over the nation. We dealt with similar type people in
50:39
Speaker 3: the nineteen nineties protesting surface mining in southern West Virginia.
50:46
Speaker 3: Senator Capitot talked about she had seen them when it
50:50
Speaker 3: comes to the Mountain Valley Pipeline. The difference though, when
50:54
Speaker 3: they came to Logan and Boone and Mingo Counties twenty
50:57
Speaker 3: years ago. Them are similar groups. They didn't get up
51:01
Speaker 3: in the faces of the people because if they were
51:03
Speaker 3: to do that, some good old boy coal miners would
51:06
Speaker 3: have probably pushed back a little bit more and they
51:09
Speaker 3: would have had a bad, bad day. People like this,
51:12
Speaker 3: Davidtorial just me. People like this are the result of
51:16
Speaker 3: what happens when everyone gets a participation trophy. You will
51:20
Speaker 3: listen to me, we will be heard. What they want
51:24
Speaker 3: is an end to all fossil fuels, And I would
51:27
Speaker 3: ask them, hey, folks, how did you get to this
51:30
Speaker 3: event tonight? Unless you walked? I really don't want to
51:34
Speaker 3: hear your crap. And anyway, as he has done in
51:37
Speaker 3: the past, I thought Senator Manson handled it well, as
51:41
Speaker 3: did Senator Capito. These people have nothing better to do
51:44
Speaker 3: than to harass people who are just trying to make
51:46
Speaker 3: a living. They obviously don't spend a lot of time
51:48
Speaker 3: on hygiene hobby will talk about it coming up in
51:53
Speaker 3: his show because it was kind of his thing. He
51:55
Speaker 3: was moderating, so he's probably not as upset about a design.
