- 0:43Speaker 1: Oh, I'm doing all right and I got a dirty
- 0:45Speaker 1: little secret.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I bring it. This is what we're here for. What's
- 0:48Speaker 2: going on?
- 0:48Speaker 1: Well, I've been married to my second husband for a
- 0:51Speaker 1: few years now, and you know, we have a good relationship.
- 0:54Speaker 1: We never really fight, except the only thing we ever
- 0:57Speaker 1: argue about is money, and it's always about.
- 0:59Speaker 2: My Yeah, of course, the issue is.
- 1:02Speaker 1: He's just so cheap. Like we both work, and he
- 1:05Speaker 1: does make more money than me, but we still, you know,
- 1:07Speaker 1: have to pay a lot of the bills for the
- 1:09Speaker 1: most part, and you know, he pays more of those bills.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But you know, overall we're pretty even.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Steven, Okay, So wait, so he's cheap, he makes more money,
- 1:19Speaker 3: He makes more money than you do.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he makes more money than I do.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I'm always fascinated the way people like handle money when
- 1:24Speaker 3: they're married, because to me, it's weird. It's like, he
- 1:26Speaker 3: makes more money than you. I feel like he would
- 1:29Speaker 3: just just pay the bills. I don't know, but but
- 1:31Speaker 3: you split bills for the most part.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yeah, for the most part. Again, he does make more
- 1:36Speaker 1: money than me, but we split the bills.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Wow, Yeah, interesting to me. Yeah, you never know how.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just different from the marriage. Yeah,
- 1:45Speaker 2: some people.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Have different accounts and either way, So so what's going
- 1:48Speaker 3: on with the money.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Well, so we both have kids who are grown, you know,
- 1:52Speaker 1: kids who are older, and you know, they're all out
- 1:54Speaker 1: account aleage now, except I do have a daughter in
- 1:57Speaker 1: college who works, but she still struggles. So my secret
- 2:01Speaker 1: is I actually give her money every month and he
- 2:04Speaker 1: has no idea, like I'm over here sneaking money to her.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And when I say, he'd be pissed, he would be
- 2:10Speaker 1: so livid.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I would why would he be live?
- 2:14Speaker 1: That's a daughter.
- 2:15Speaker 2: That's wild to me.
- 2:16Speaker 3: He would be mad that you're giving your college daughter
- 2:18Speaker 3: money to survive.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I mean, is a lot of money or just like, no,
- 2:24Speaker 4: it's not really a lot of money, Like we've thought
- 2:26Speaker 4: about it before, and you know, he says, like she
- 2:28Speaker 4: has a job, so there should be no reason I
- 2:30Speaker 4: should be sending her money.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And I honestly don't even send it that much. Maybe
- 2:34Speaker 1: like one hundred or one hundred and fifty bucks a month,
- 2:36Speaker 1: sometimes two hundred, but that's really all.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, so what's the big deal? That's why
- 2:44Speaker 2: would he be livid? That's ridiculous to me. I don't know.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So he doesn't know that you're doing this. I am
- 2:49Speaker 3: surprised because I figured you would share an account. If
- 2:51Speaker 3: he's this cheap, he would be watching everything.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Well, basically, what I do is I get cash back
- 2:56Speaker 1: when I go to stores here and there, so if
- 2:58Speaker 1: he doesn't even notice it, and then I just give
- 3:00Speaker 1: that to her. Oh, honestly making me angry, and I'm
- 3:05Speaker 1: holding a lot of anger from him.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I don't blame you. I'm telling you what this is.
- 3:11Speaker 3: This is an epidemic. This is a movement that people
- 3:13Speaker 3: are doing the cash back movement. How many times have
- 3:15Speaker 3: we had somebody call up and go, oh, every time
- 3:18Speaker 3: I'm at the store, I get cash back, So my
- 3:20Speaker 3: partner doesn't know that I'm getting extra money here and there.
- 3:23Speaker 3: One girl called up, but she was getting she was
- 3:25Speaker 3: like a getaway fun. She was calling it for herself.
- 3:28Speaker 3: She was about to get a divorce, and she would
- 3:30Speaker 3: take money for the longest time doing cashbacks. And so
- 3:34Speaker 3: you're upset about it. You're getting angry, and he has
- 3:36Speaker 3: no idea.
- 3:37Speaker 1: It's not really that though. He just doesn't want to
- 3:40Speaker 1: do anything, you know, because he's so cheap, Like he
- 3:43Speaker 1: doesn't even want to go off to eat. We never
- 3:45Speaker 1: have vacations, and we do have the money to do that.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And I just don't know what it's deal is because
- 3:50Speaker 1: when we were dating, he had no issue sending money
- 3:53Speaker 1: on me, like we would go out and now he
- 3:56Speaker 1: is a completely different person. And I honestly have no
- 3:59Speaker 1: idea why he basically controls the bank accounts and it
- 4:03Speaker 1: says I just don't need to worry about it. Like
- 4:06Speaker 1: if I need something, I'll ask him and he usually
- 4:08Speaker 1: will let me do it. But he gets mad if
- 4:10Speaker 1: I don't ask, like, for example, if it's something that's
- 4:13Speaker 1: over one hundred dollars, then it's not groceries. He pretty
- 4:16Speaker 1: much wants me to ask him before I get it.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And as time goes by, it's just getting work.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You have a job though you're making money. See, this
- 4:24Speaker 2: is I don't know.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not saying he's abusive, but there's there
- 4:29Speaker 3: are men who do this for control, right, And I
- 4:32Speaker 3: don't know if this is. I don't want to jump
- 4:33Speaker 3: to conclusions and say that's the situation here, but it
- 4:36Speaker 3: does not sound fair that you have. Does he ask
- 4:39Speaker 3: you if he spends more than a hundred bucks?
- 4:40Speaker 4: Nope?
- 4:41Speaker 3: No, no, nope, So sorry, Okay, then then it's not okay.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Just because you make more money doesn't mean that you
- 4:47Speaker 4: can spend more.
- 4:48Speaker 2: No, it's your money, it's his money is your money,
- 4:51Speaker 2: Your money is his money. It's all in one bank account.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't have to ask you if I want
- 4:55Speaker 3: to spend my money that I'm paying he had.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Oh no, uh uh.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I feel like you have to dressed before it does
- 5:00Speaker 3: get too bad, though, because this is this resembment is
- 5:03Speaker 3: just going to keep building.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's already pretty bad. But you know,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I do, Yeah, I do have to address it with him,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and I think I'm just checking out.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I wonder what changed if he did this when
- 5:14Speaker 3: you guys were dating, What like, what change? Yeah? I mean,
- 5:17Speaker 3: obviously the economy is different and things are different, and
- 5:20Speaker 3: we're preparing for the future differently.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But I mean you would know that if that's.
- 5:24Speaker 3: His issue, or he spent money on you because he
- 5:26Speaker 3: was trying to you know, land you and he did.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Once he did, He's like, well I got it. Now
- 5:31Speaker 2: we're chilling.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Now you want to go to Paris, Texas because it's
- 5:35Speaker 3: right down the street. Well, good luck with everything, honestly,
- 5:40Speaker 3: and I hope you guys work it out and I
- 5:43Speaker 3: would address it soon if I were you.
- 5:44Speaker 2: But good luck.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Oh, thanks, I appreciate it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: You should never have to hide anything in a relationship.
- 5:48Speaker 3: No talk about everything, you know,
