Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity, no topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:20Friends and family in Christ, thank you so much for tuning into another episode of World
- 0:25View Matters.
- 0:26And I want to let you know, we're excited to say this is episode number 500, if you can
- 0:34believe that.
- 0:35Makes it feel like we've been doing this a lot longer than we have, but we've got a very
- 0:39special guest.
- 0:40Of course, every 100, 200, 300, 400, we like to have a special guest for these programs.
- 0:46And we've got Ken Ham with answers in Genesis, and we're so blessed to have him.
- 0:52Yeah, there's the website.
- 0:53Make sure to go to the website, answers in Genesis dot O R G. Thank you.
- 0:58You can.
- 0:59Good to see you.
- 1:00Thanks for joining us today.
- 1:01Hey, great to be with you.
- 1:02And congratulations on 500 episodes.
- 1:05That's a quite a place to get to.
- 1:07Yes, it is.
- 1:08It is.
- 1:09Didn't think we'd make it, but here we are.
- 1:11God keeps us moving.
- 1:14One thing I wanted to share about 10 years ago, maybe 11, you had a series called foundations,
- 1:22relevance of Genesis, I believe.
- 1:24That's great.
- 1:25I absolutely love it.
- 1:26At the time, I was researching for a book called The Cost of Our Silence.
- 1:30And I came across that and I had to keep watching those sessions, because it was so important.
- 1:36And one of the things that stuck out in my mind, and we're all going to talk about biblical
- 1:39worldview today, is what you mentioned going on over in Europe in the UK with churches
- 1:46shutting down, becoming bars and tattoo parlors and other businesses and the churches were.
- 1:54And you said, this is going to happen to America unless we get the church back to the
- 1:59biblical worldview.
- 2:00Could you please share your thoughts on how important that is, even now 10 years later?
- 2:07We know, when you look at what's happening in the culture, we see, you know, if you go
- 2:12back in history, the whole Western world once was permeated by, I would say, the Judeo-Christian
- 2:18Ethic.
- 2:19Now, America was much more Christianized than the rest of the Western world.
- 2:22But really, that came out of the Bible and a respect for the Bible.
- 2:27And so, even non-Christians, basically, most of them would believe marriage was a man
- 2:31and a woman, abortion was killing a human being, that gay marriage was wrong, transgender
- 2:38was wrong and so on.
- 2:39But that has definitely changed.
- 2:41And we've seen a catastrophic generational loss from the church.
- 2:44I mean, generation Z, even though some people talk about a resurgence of interest in church
- 2:49by generation Z, nonetheless, when you get back to the 1700s, you have about 75 to 80%
- 2:55of the population went to church and right now less than 5% of generation Z would attend
- 3:01Protestant churches.
- 3:02So we've seen a catastrophic generational loss from the church, which has gone hand in hand
- 3:08with the increasing secularization of the culture.
- 3:11And why is that?
- 3:12I would say, you know, 80, 85% of kids from church homes, from the statistics I've seen,
- 3:19go to public schools, which are the anti-god education system.
- 3:23And they are given the foundation of man's word.
- 3:26They're taught atheistic evolution, millions of years.
- 3:28Those who go to church have been told by the majority of their Christian leaders.
- 3:32Don't worry about Genesis.
- 3:33You don't need to believe that.
- 3:34You don't believe in millions of years evolution, just trust in Jesus, Johnny.
- 3:38But you see, here's a problem.
- 3:40Once you say that, you're saying you can't trust this part of the Bible.
- 3:43You've undermined biblical authority.
- 3:46You've added man's ideas into the Bible.
- 3:48And what's happened is those generations realize, you know, if that part of the Bible
- 3:52was not true, why is the rest true?
- 3:54And if they go and they leave the church.
- 3:57And then they build a world view consistent with the foundation they got from the world.
- 4:02And that is the foundation of man's word, which means anything goes.
- 4:05When there's no king to tell them what to do, they all do what is right in their own eyes.
- 4:10And so we see moral relativism permeating the culture.
- 4:13And those two are linked.
- 4:15The catastrophic generational loss from the church very much linked to the increasing
- 4:19secularization of our culture with moral relativism permeating.
- 4:24And it's because the majority of our Christian leaders have not taken a stand on Genesis 1 to 11.
- 4:31They've compromised with evolution millions of years.
- 4:33And there's another aspect to this.
- 4:35And that is because they haven't done that and haven't taught from that, most Christians
- 4:39I find in our churches don't know how to deal with issues of gay marriage or transgender
- 4:45or abortion.
- 4:47Because Genesis 1 to 11 actually is the foundation for everything.
- 4:50And it's the foundation for all of our doctrines.
- 4:52So first of all, to know what we believe, we have to start from Genesis 1 to 11.
- 4:56It's the foundation for marriage, for the family, for life, for why they're sinned, where
- 5:02death came from.
- 5:03I mean, every doctrine is based in Genesis 1 to 11.
- 5:06And people haven't been taught correctly how to think.
- 5:10And that is people don't understand that when you look at the clash between the absolutes
- 5:16of God's word, concerning the worldview that comes out of God's word, like marriage
- 5:21as a man and a woman, only two genders, male and female, and so on.
- 5:27And you see the clash with the secular anti-God-well view of moral relativism.
- 5:32People are fighting it at that level and then they're accused of being intolerant and
- 5:36they're accused of giving hate speech.
- 5:39Where in actual fact, the battle is actually a foundational one.
- 5:43Because ultimately there's two foundations or two religions that build your worldview.
- 5:48God's word, man's word.
- 5:50And so out of that comes two different worldviews, a biblical worldview or a secular worldview.
- 5:57But the worldview clash is actually a spiritual war.
- 6:01It's a battle between God's word and man's word.
- 6:03And sadly, many Christians don't understand that, don't know how to fight the battle because
- 6:08most churches have not taught it.
- 6:10Yes.
- 6:11And believers are not being equipped.
- 6:14Thank you for your constant stand on the authority and the inerrancy of Scripture and
- 6:19Genesis 1-11.
- 6:22I don't want to run out of time.
- 6:23Let's just go right to the end and say, what's the solution, Ken Ham?
- 6:27Because we know there's even a problem with our seminaries in America today.
- 6:31We know that some pastors are not, they're afraid of losing congregants so they're not going
- 6:36to talk about controversial issues.
- 6:38So I know it's multifaceted, but what is one of the solutions to get the body of Christ
- 6:44equipped?
- 6:46First of all, I say from a general overall perspective, when I say to people, what's
- 6:51the solution with all the problems that we have in our culture, what's going on?
- 6:55The moral relativism we've been talking about and so on.
- 6:58What is the solution?
- 6:59Well, I'm going to say something that'll shock you, David.
- 7:03So prepare to be shocked.
- 7:04Are you ready for this?
- 7:05Ready.
- 7:06The government is not the solution.
- 7:08Now, I knew you'd be shocked.
- 7:11Now, I tell people, don't get me wrong.
- 7:15There's no neutral position.
- 7:17There's no such thing as separation of church and state ultimately.
- 7:21The government is imposing a religion on the culture.
- 7:24It's either built on God's word or man's word and it's certainly the religion they're
- 7:28imposing and legislating today is not built on God's word.
- 7:33And so one of the things I say to people is we actually need more Christians in government,
- 7:38school boards, councils, who have a Christian worldview, who vote in accord with that worldview,
- 7:43because if they don't do it, the secularists will and then they'll take over, which is
- 7:47what really has happened.
- 7:49But the solution ultimately, here's what I say.
- 7:54First of all, God gave the solution right after Adam's sinned and it's never changed.
- 7:59Genesis 3.15, the solution is God's word and the same in gospel.
- 8:03That is the solution.
- 8:05But we live at a time when God's word is come under a particular attack and particularly
- 8:10the first 11 chapters, the history that's foundational to everything has come under incredible
- 8:15attack.
- 8:16And so we need to make sure that in our churches we're equipping people with apologetics
- 8:22to be able to defend the Christian faith, who know what the attacks of today are going
- 8:26to be, who raise up their children equipped with those answers and we need to be teaching
- 8:31them to think foundationally and that is to understand you don't add the Bible to
- 8:35you thinking, the Bible is a revelation from God who knows everything.
- 8:40And you know, this book is a revelation from one who is head all the treasures of wisdom
- 8:47and knowledge.
- 8:48He is infinite knowledge and wisdom compared to us.
- 8:50I mean, we know nothing compared to God.
- 8:53And he's revealed to us what we need to know in the first 11 chapters of the history
- 8:56and geology, biology, astronomy, anthropology, that's foundational to the rest of the Bible,
- 9:01we'll add doctrine to a biblical worldview to the gospel to everything.
- 9:05We have to start from here and know why we believe what we do, we build our thinking
- 9:10on the Bible.
- 9:11And to understand sectorists, non-Christian start from man's word, they don't start from
- 9:16out here in the atmosphere, they don't start from the evidence out, they start from man's
- 9:22word, no God, evolution and so on, they have a different worldview.
- 9:26So once we teach them the right way to think, how others think and then equip them with
- 9:31answers, then they will be able to go out there and be a witness to challenge people
- 9:38concerning the truth of God's word and point them to the gospel message.
- 9:43To share with others why we believe what we believe.
- 9:48I want to ask you about a book that you wrote.
- 9:50I believe it came out last year defending God's existence.
- 9:54I think that's your most recent, if I'm not mistaken, an important book, there it is.
- 9:59Yes.
- 10:00It's a book.
- 10:01What is it?
- 10:02What is it?
- 10:03First Peter 315?
- 10:04Always be ready to give an answer to those who may ask for the reason for the hope that
- 10:10you have.
- 10:11Go ahead and share a little bit about that book, Ken.
- 10:13Yeah.
- 10:14This book, the way I describe it to people, I say if you want to be like a Charlie Kirk, but
- 10:19only at a higher level and know how to really defend the faith, how to point out inconsistencies
- 10:25and others, how to point out logical fallacies, how to think foundationally and argue foundationally,
- 10:32how to correctly understand evidence, how to interpret evidence, then that's the book
- 10:38for you.
- 10:39I don't know of any other book like it out there because this book is really teaching
- 10:43you philosophically the right way to think how non-Christian thinks, therefore the right
- 10:49way to argue and to be able to point out those inconsistencies.
- 10:53Even things as simple as when someone says, I don't believe in absolutes, well, are they
- 11:00absolutely sure about that because then that just made an absolute.
- 11:04When someone says, I don't believe in truth, well, then is that a true statement?
- 11:08How could that be a true statement?
- 11:11Even things simple like that, but there's much, much more to it than that.
- 11:14But a non-Christian has to borrow from a Christian worldview daily and you need to learn how
- 11:22to point that out.
- 11:23When somebody says something is good or who defines what is good, is that your opinion?
- 11:29Is that somebody else's opinion?
- 11:31Who is your authority to determine what you believe?
- 11:35Is it yourself?
- 11:36Is that an arbitrary authority?
- 11:39We have an authority, the absolute authority of God's Word.
- 11:42When people accuse you as a Christian, they accuse me of circular reasoning.
- 11:46They say, oh, you start with the Bible and then you go to the evidence and then you say,
- 11:51what we see out there confirms the Bible's history, isn't that circular reasoning?
- 11:55Well, all reasoning is circular, right?
- 11:57And there's really two main circles, if you like.
- 12:00You start from God's Word or man's Word, the point is, is the circle real?
- 12:04Does it exist?
- 12:06And because we start with God's Word, which is an absolute authority, not an arbitrary
- 12:10authority, that's the real circle, so to speak.
- 12:14And that's what we need to understand.
- 12:16So Ken, there's a lot of people going to church now that weren't going before the assassination
- 12:23of Charlie Kirk.
- 12:25There's a lot in Gen Z that are more open to spiritual things.
- 12:28They're more open to maybe God, but what kind of churches are they going to?
- 12:35Are they reading the Bible?
- 12:36There's a lot of questions.
- 12:37I mean, people are being a little bit optimistic in the church about maybe a little
- 12:40many revival because of what happened.
- 12:42But yeah, more people are maybe interested and maybe thinking about their lives, thinking
- 12:47about God, but if they're not going to the foundation of the inherent Word of God and
- 12:51starting there, or going to the right church, and that's now a remnant, a minority of churches
- 12:57in America, they're not going to get what they need.
- 13:00Your thoughts on that?
- 13:01Well, David, I don't know if I'm going to get into trouble for saying this, right?
- 13:06If I say a name or a name of a church, well, let me put it this way.
- 13:13I was watching Fox News and they were going to do this article because I heard them advertise.
- 13:19There was going to be a special item on the biggest church in America and how Gen Z are
- 13:25flocking to the biggest church in America.
- 13:27And I thought, okay, I think I know what this will be.
- 13:30And sure enough, it was the church in Texas and the pastor is Joel Osteen.
- 13:36And they showed all these thousands of people packed in there.
- 13:41And of course, they interviewed various people.
- 13:44And all I ever heard was things about positive thinking and giving you a positive attitude
- 13:50in life.
- 13:51That's life now.
- 13:53I don't hear any teaching on the Bible as history and the foundation for everything and
- 14:02about sin and repentance.
- 14:04And I don't know, maybe there's some teaching on that, but it's interesting when they interviewed
- 14:07these people, to me, it seemed like they're all saying we're enjoying the experience.
- 14:12We enjoy coming together and so on.
- 14:16And I think that that's what's happened in a lot of churches today.
- 14:19A lot of churches have grown, not because they're teaching God's Word, but because what
- 14:25I've seen is more and more in our modern era.
- 14:28A lot of churches try to make the church look more like the world to attract people rather
- 14:33than teach God's Word that can fix and equip them and give them answers and show them
- 14:38we can defend our faith.
- 14:40That's what we need to do.
- 14:41Now, there are some big churches that are standing on God's Word and doing that.
- 14:48I think of even people like Jack Hibb's out in California, and there's many others as
- 14:52well, and that there's some great Christian leaders who are doing that, like Heidi St. John
- 14:57and many others that we're very familiar with, but the majority of churches and Christian
- 15:02leaders are not standing on God's Word as they should, not teaching what they should,
- 15:07and it's a very shallow surface churchyality I would call it.
- 15:12It's interesting at the Arkin County, we have the two leading Christian themed attractions
- 15:16in the world, the Arkin County of the Creation Museum here in Northern Kentucky, and at
- 15:20the Arkin County, we run conferences through the year.
- 15:22We just had our men's conference.
- 15:24It was totally packed.
- 15:25We did a women's conference in April, and again this year, we have to do two of them
- 15:30because so many people coming, and we do a homeschool conference, and so it goes on
- 15:35in a past as conference.
- 15:36But do you know what we hear over and over again?
- 15:38We're tired of the shallow stuff.
- 15:41We're tired of the experiential stuff.
- 15:43We love to come and get them meet, and that's what we make sure.
- 15:47All our speakers are teaching in-depth, but we're teaching apologetics.
- 15:52We're teaching them how to stand in God's Word.
- 15:54We're teaching them to be bold, we're equipping them for the world that they live in, and we
- 15:59will not compromise God's Word right from the very beginning.
- 16:04Praise God.
- 16:05This is Ken Ham, author of Defending God's Existence Answers in Genesis.org.
- 16:10Also, friends, I'm blessed to be right next to him over at harbingers.tv.
- 16:17Harbingers daily, the biblical news site, they put out a great video site as well.
- 16:22So, right over there, harbingers.tv, if you scroll down, left hand calm, there's Barry
- 16:26Stagdor, there's Ken Ham, and who's that fiery azo guy?
- 16:30That's just such a blessing to be among these great men of God.
- 16:34But when we come back, very short break, we're going to talk about the fact that by the
- 16:39year 2030, just four years from now, the number of deaths is expected to exceed the number
- 16:46of births?
- 16:47We're in trouble, we'll talk about that when we come back.
- 16:52Register now for the World View Matters Conference May 1 and 2 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- 16:58Expert speakers include Alex Newman, Brianna Clawson, Olivier Melnick, Tim Chafee, Mark
- 17:06and Amber Archer, Laura Perry Smalls, Jake Jacobs, Jay Seigert, Gary Caw, Scott Shera,
- 17:15and Elijah Abraham, Delta Hotel Green Bay May 1 and 2, go to worldviewmattersconference.com
- 17:24that's worldviewmattersconference.com.
- 17:28So friends, you can find this article over at answers and genesis, be fruitful and multiply,
- 17:33question mark, US deaths, expected to exceed births.
- 17:38You know, some years ago, just hearing the year 2030 that seemed like such a long ways
- 17:43off.
- 17:44And here we are, four years away, this goes back to the Christian responsibility to raise
- 17:51not only a godly family, but to have kids, be blessed, be fruitful and multiply, go ahead
- 17:57and share your thoughts and your concerns on this.
- 17:59Yeah, you know, right back at the beginning when God made the first marriage and that's
- 18:04Adam and Eve, of course, one man for one woman and then told him to be fruitful and multiply.
- 18:09And so the family is the first and most fundamental of all human institutions which God ordained
- 18:14in Scripture.
- 18:15And the family is a unit God uses to transfer their spiritual legacy from one generation
- 18:19to the next and to impact the world around, impact people around for the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 18:26It's interesting.
- 18:27We should have Malachi 2, Malachi 2, 15, you know, where the Israelite men were divorcing
- 18:32their wives, marrying pagans.
- 18:33And so God through the prophet asked the question, why did God make 2, 1?
- 18:38And it's really a reference back to the one flesh that God made Eve from Adam and you
- 18:44become one because you're one flesh, genesis 2, 24.
- 18:47And Jesus quotes that in Matthew 19 and Paul does in Ephesians 5.
- 18:52And so the prophet asked the questions, why did God make 2, why did he make 2, 1?
- 18:57And his answer was because he sought godly offspring, by the way, not just offspring,
- 19:02but godly offspring.
- 19:03In other words, one of the primary importance of marriage of the family is to produce godly
- 19:09offspring generation after generation.
- 19:11And when you look at those sort of statistics, you know, let me say something about the secular
- 19:16world, first of all, the secular world is bemoaning the birth rates that have dropped
- 19:22and what's happening then to our culture and concerned about the future, but wait a minute.
- 19:28How many millions a year are they killing by abortion?
- 19:33I mean, here they are bemoaning the drop in birth rate and yet they're killing baby's
- 19:39children by abortion and think nothing of it.
- 19:44That's first thing we need to think about.
- 19:46And then there seems to be a fear amongst a lot of young people today about having children.
- 19:53And you know, some of that fear is because of what's happening in the culture and they're
- 19:56listening to the secularist anti-god worldview, say concerning climate change.
- 20:02I've had people say to me, I don't want to bring children in the world because we're
- 20:06destroying the world it is is look at the climate change and all the rest of it.
- 20:10But see, the whole climate change religion and it is, it's an anti-god religion and it's
- 20:15based on evolutionary assumptions, it's based on atheistic assumptions.
- 20:20You know, if you look at the Bible and people say to me, do you believe in climate change?
- 20:23I was absolutely, there's been climate change ever since the flood, the flood caused massive
- 20:28climate change and it generated an ice age that caused massive climate change.
- 20:32And if you don't believe the Bible's timeline and don't believe the Bible's events of history,
- 20:37you won't understand climate change does happen that it can happen catastrophically, things
- 20:42can change quickly, they can change back quickly.
- 20:45It's because we live in a fallen world and I've got news for people.
- 20:48There's going to be climate change until Jesus comes again.
- 20:51And then there's the big climate change we all need to worry about when he judges everything
- 20:56with fire and everything will be burned up with fire.
- 21:00So that's the climate change we should be really concerned about.
- 21:03So there's a number of issues.
- 21:05The other one is that, you know, statistics show a large percentage of women in churches
- 21:13and many churches have been somehow or another either supporting or involved in abortion.
- 21:19And this is just shocking and it's very, very sad, but there's not enough teaching
- 21:24from our pulpits concerning taking the right stand on this.
- 21:28I mean, the Bible makes it very clear we're made in the image of God and we know life
- 21:32begins at fertilization.
- 21:34We know Psalm 139 says that when God knitted us together at our mother's womb,
- 21:41before when he looked at our unformed substance,
- 21:45so even when our bodies hadn't formed and the fertilized egg was building our bodies,
- 21:51it's still you or think of what he said about, you know, Jeremiah,
- 21:55before you're formed in your mother's womb, I knew you.
- 21:58Right from fertilization, we are human beings made in the image of God.
- 22:04And therefore abortion is killing a human being right from fertilization.
- 22:10Now, that has to be a foundational principle for our world view.
- 22:13And it needs to be taught in our churches and we need to be teaching our children
- 22:18so they got the right foundation.
- 22:21As I, you know what I say, I say abortion is really child sacrifice to the God of self.
- 22:26I mean, that's really what it is.
- 22:28And so even there are even Christians who are boarding children
- 22:32and they're using excuses like, well, they didn't have enough money or well,
- 22:36I was worried about bringing them into the world.
- 22:38You can't negate God's principles.
- 22:41A foundational principle that life begins at fertilization.
- 22:45Do we have a right to deliberately kill a human being made in the image of God?
- 22:50That's what we should be asking ourselves.
- 22:52But we, you know what, there's also young people today.
- 22:55I find a saying, you know, we don't really even want to get married.
- 23:00We're going to put it off for a long time.
- 23:02I'm going to put my career first before family.
- 23:06Well, I believe that, yeah, I'm not saying a woman should never career or man should never career.
- 23:12But you know what, there's only a certain time in this fallen world
- 23:16that you're able to have children.
- 23:17And to me, that's one of the priorities of marriage.
- 23:20So we should be putting family first.
- 23:22Yep. In this article, Ken, you write,
- 23:24ideology has consequences in the anti-natal views of the current cultural climate
- 23:30that elevates personal autonomy and freedom
- 23:33while devaluing the beauty and gift of family and children certainly have consequences.
- 23:40It also says in a biblical worldview, children are a blessing.
- 23:45But it was right along lines with what's happening.
- 23:48In another article, you have, it's a new report that one in seven Christian universities.
- 23:55Christian, now you might have to put Christian and air quotes here.
- 23:57But one in seven Christian universities support abortion industry.
- 24:02This is not the biblical worldview,
- 24:04and yet these universities that are talked about in that article are calling themselves Christian.
- 24:10There's a little confusion going on there, isn't there Ken?
- 24:13Well, there certainly is, but let me say this.
- 24:16I would be prepared to basically guarantee that those universities
- 24:22that call themselves Christian that support abortion do not take a stand on a literal genesis.
- 24:27Because what I found is once you're prepared to take that stand on a literal genesis,
- 24:32letting God speak to you through His Word,
- 24:35He made everything six literal days, death came after sin,
- 24:38and so on. You believe that history, which is foundational to everything,
- 24:42you're not going to compromise with abortion or with gay marriage or anything else.
- 24:48And it's sad, there are thousands of Christian colleges, universities in America.
- 24:55And each year we run at the Arkin counter, a creation college where we allow high school students
- 25:00to come in, register free, and we bring in those colleges and universities
- 25:04that do take the same stand we do on Genesis 1 to 11.
- 25:08You know how many there are? It's like 35 or 40.
- 25:11It's hardly any.
- 25:12And one of the sad things is the majority of Christian colleges and Bible colleges,
- 25:17not all, but certainly the majority do not stand on Genesis 1 to 11 as a literal history,
- 25:23which is why the majority of the students who go through there end up walking away from the church
- 25:29and why they compromise with these sad issues of the day,
- 25:35these social issues of the day.
- 25:37Yep, so we're seeing the consequences of this rotten fruit
- 25:40of not teaching the whole Council of God starting in Genesis
- 25:44and the authority of Scripture. But one more thing, we've got two minutes left with you,
- 25:47Ken, in the 1950s and 60s, and this is a consequence,
- 25:51it was very important for 70 to 75% of US adults to go to church
- 25:58or to have a religion, basically Christian religion was understood back then.
- 26:02But now it's less than 50% of Americans that consider religion to be very important.
- 26:08So we see that decline going down along with the biblical literacy declining.
- 26:14So these are all things happening at the same time.
- 26:16Your closing thoughts to encourage maybe a young Christian family,
- 26:19young Christian parents, Ken?
- 26:22Well, you know, the admonition from the Lord is that we are to raise godly offspring
- 26:28and I encourage people to make sure that they recognize that there's nothing more important
- 26:33than that your children know Christ. Paul says that very clearly in God's word,
- 26:39that everything he counts as basically useless
- 26:43or everything is done, so to speak, compared to trusting Christ.
- 26:49And the most important thing, the priority for us as parents has to be our children
- 26:55and to do all we can and fathers need to be the head of the house
- 26:59and wives need to be the help me to their husbands to be that spiritual head
- 27:04to lead them, to teach them in the things of God.
- 27:07Yes, amen, brother.
