- 0:07SPEAKER_00: Are you a fish again?
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I was just I I just I just had some water.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: I just wanted to like get it around my mouth because I want some water.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: I want some water.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: Literally, I'm literally a bottle of water.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Welcome, welcome, Joey.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: From wherever the launch place on the airport, uh place on the earth you are.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: I don't know because you are traveling a lot, you're traveling, I don't know, more than a plane.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: I think every pilot on this on this planet is jealous of what kind of routes and places you have been only in the last weeks.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And I think I would not stress this, I would not double check this, but I think we are the podcast with like the most travel miles in between the two hosts because this is just incredible.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: I think we're giving Taylor Swift a run for money here.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Like seriously, it's just like, yeah, we're just gonna I might as well just buy a private jet at this point.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're just like so sorry close to get promics a private jet just for us to being like all over the place.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Exactly, but it's crazy the amount of countries I've been in in the past seven days.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: I've been in I've been in Finland, Spain, Peru, uh I've been in the Czech Republic, I'm currently in Poland, I'm gonna be in Spain again.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I was in the UK briefly, I'm gonna be in the Netherlands briefly on Sunday.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: So yeah, you've been at home as well at some point, or no, no, who needs a home?
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: No, who needs a home, you know?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Then then when it launches the home, who needs to be have a physical home.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and shout and shout out to um finair, which I think is quite possible.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Well, listen to this podcast.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, please, yeah.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: If you want to sponsor, I'll I'll happily if you want to sponsor this finair, I'll happily just talk about your day because you've got the literally probably the best airport lounge in the world ever.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: And I had the had the good fortune of being able to experience it.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: It's the non-Schengen Finair Lounge, um, which is kind of uh, and it's probably gonna be the last time that I will get to experience it because I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to hold my status uh with the uh with One World.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: But yeah, certainly it's got a sauna, it's got reindeer burgers, it's got yeah, what do you want?
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: How can you not remain the status?
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: That that is like my only question.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: So leave the sauna by side.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I I I'm like this is already too much to handle to me for me, but how how how can you not remain the status of like all of your travel you're doing?
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Well, International Airlines Group, who's the owner of British Airways, who have status with in their wisdom, they decided to move the entire uh loyalty scheme to a spend-based sort of programme.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: So it used to be that you could kind of hack the system a little bit, uh get status by just flying some silly flights and all that sort of stuff, but now you need to spend probably somewhere in the region of about uh probably I would say maybe£20,000 per year to retain the top status.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Um now I travel a lot, but I'm I'm not uh unfortunately that well uh endowed or unflying enough sort of uh I guess um premium sort of flights to be able to sort of do that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: So um I've got to feel I'm not gonna be able to hold that sort of status.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, my feeling is go out with a bang, go to the Fenet Lounge, expensive one last time, and that's what I did the other day.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: So that was good.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: But speaking of Nordic countries, we need to give the answer to the previous judge travel question.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Um, so last time, so again, the inbox has been completely inundated with responses.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: This is clearly the most popular feature in the world ever.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Um, so but yeah, if you did want to get involved in the future, it's Helo at unresolved dependencies.com.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: So the answer, if you guessed it last time, was actually Oslo.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: I was in Norway again, yes, on a nice little hiking holiday.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So I had a lovely weekend there, as always, in Norway.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Came back with as much Norwegian chocolate as I could carry.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Um, so that was also really good.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, definitely would recommend uh not only going to Norway but doing some hiking in Norway.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Um you have mixed feelings on London, don't you, Sebastian?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I have mixed feelings, yes.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: This is very polite.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, I see if you're planning for it, if you're prepared for it, if you um make the plan, it's it's alright.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: It it can be fine, especially like if you have dogs and you just walk with them or you carry them because they're small and little, um, it's totally fine.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So if this is all planned accordingly, that's okay.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I would not be against or super cheering for it.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: But if you do it in a terrain which is not made for your um expensive sneakers, which are all white on a freshly um rained hill, then I would be totally against it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I mean I mean what kind of friend would do that, knowing that you've got new sneakers, then go and drive you out for a massive hike somewhere in Slovenia.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, what kind of what kind of friend would do sort of do that to you?
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: There's like this is only like a very hypotectical uh and very dreamy scenario.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: So no names that, but maybe but you do realize that I question how German you are now because this is like one of the big stereotypes that every German just likes to hike and walk a lot.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Where's this coming from?
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I don't know.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Don't blame me for the stereotypes.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I I just I just quote them often and find them hilarious.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: So you know, I I don't I don't invent the rules here.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy indeed.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: What's also crazy is my travel schedule, at least the supposed one, because I did not all of the travel, which I can may uh reveal later.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Um, but I was also in the US, for example.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: I um had the chance and the privilege um with Chromix, our uh dear um how to say our dear company, um to travel to US to meet with some people from Microsoft.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: And um as it is in the US, um there is also some steak involved.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: So um maybe for my for my own feature, like whatever I ate lately, um, it has to be one of these steaks.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: I I have plenty of pictures of steaks.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: I I I think I have more pictures of steak than of my girlfriend, put to be fair, on my phone.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: So I I don't know what's wrong with that, but this was maybe something for a later episode.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: But I have I'm gonna restrain myself by not saying anything here because this could just be exploited for so much comedic and yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: We just we just leave it there, but I have it there.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Just leave it.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: You've got lots of pictures of meat on your phone.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Let's leave it there.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: No, this is not what I said.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: I I said I have lots of pictures of delicious steaks on my phone.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, but the clarify we'll clarify it there.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: We clarify, yeah.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: It's important uh in the age of AI and internet and everything is true, which is written somewhere, to clarify that and give more context.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, um, tons of steak.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Um, so that was great.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Uh the self-grilled um, and as well the one in the Ascent, I think was the name of the restaurant in Bellevue.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Super expensive, but uh, I was invited to a birthday party, so all good.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Uh therefore it was a tomic horse talk steak I saw of the stuff.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, you already saw pictures.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I I was like food coma drunk and and send like pictures of of steak to people.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: So yeah, wake up at 3 a.m.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: I just get these like drunk, like meat, meat drunk texts from Sebastian.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm I'm I'm not gonna finish that sentence, I'm gonna restrain myself, but yes, but no, um steak's a good choice.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you in the land of the free, where obviously every well, obviously the steak is not fruit.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: No regulations, no nothing, just like delicious steak.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: That's a very good choice.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: That's a very good choice.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: So we'll try and maybe get a picture of that on the socials for you.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Um, in terms of the next Joe Travel clue, if you're interested in playing, so the clue if you uh if you wanted to play along, let us know on the socials, Instagram, LinkedIn, or just drop us an email, hello at unresolveddependencies.com.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: So I am going next to a city that is famous for an unfinished church, and where I'm during Christmas time, where you go and see the usual nativity scenes, you might just see at the side a little man known as the pooper doing his business.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Which city am I going to next?
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: Let us know.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: That's very interesting.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let us know.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: I have no idea about your um time schedule.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I just know that like next week you will be um on the weekend in Scotland because I will be there as well for Scottish Summit.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: That's what I think.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: Scottish Summit, my fate, one of my favourite events, two-day events.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Uh it's gonna be a workshop day, then all day event on the Saturday.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: It's at the Moyfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, we've got cabaret, there's an awards night, there's there's there's obviously it's in Edinburgh, beautiful city.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: There may be a few wee drams of whiskey involved, uh, maybe some haggis.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Have you ever have you had haggis before, Sebastian?
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I tried it two years ago at Scar Summit because I think Scott Summit always alternates every two years, right?
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: With South Coast Summit, right?
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Um sorry, yeah, I tried it two years ago, but um it's it's it's not my cup of tea, I'm gonna say.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: So um yeah.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: I think you've not had the right haggers.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: I had a very good one in Glasgow uh earlier this year, probably the best one I've ever had.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Um so maybe we just need to find you the best one.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: There was quite a good I sent you something.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Was it like just a massive like spice bag box, munchie box place or something?
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Because Scotland is also as well famous for have you heard about this before, the munchie box.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: The munchie box isn't I thought this would be something delicious, uh Korean or Japanese, but okay, good.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: No, it's basically just okay, take as many different sort of fried types sort of foods, so things like maybe samosas, fries, chicken nuggets, uh onion rings, throw that into a big massive pizza box, and there you go, you've got yourself a nice, tasty munchie box.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Of course it's fried.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Of course, everything every thing in Scotland is fried.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, you put fried as nickers as well.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: Sausages, yeah, exactly.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: So there's a there's a Simpson shark in those rides.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: There is some Simpson sketch, I think.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: There we'll fry everything, a crusty burger for Homer.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: I do have that somewhere in my hat that there is a scene for that where they just fry everything and he finds everything delicious.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: We will get you a munchie box, we'll get you a deep fried Mars bar as well.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, with obviously a bit of whiskey involved as well, and we'll try and find you some really good side.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna eat um the best you've ever eaten in your life in Edinburgh.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure because it's connected to go to the island of um the of like which is not known for its food culture, or like it's known for its food culture, but not in the in the most appreciated way in in my terms.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: So let's see.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Um I'm I'm really looking forward, but I I know what we definitely don't get, um, and just to to announce it here, we were nominated for like an UK Community Award because I'm not definitely not from the UK, but you are, and I I don't know how we get there into this list of nominees.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: It's it's totally crazy.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: We will definitely put the link into description that you can vote for all of the fantastic and um amazing people there because there are truly um some great, great, great people from the community um which have a lot of impact and uh do so much hours of good content, not only for podcasts, but also speaking, blocking, doing videos all of the sides of the different awards categories.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: And we were awarded in terms of like podcasts.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: So I you can skip that vote for Ulrich's and and um Nick's podcast, for example, um the platform boost podcast or anything else, what is there on the list because like it's really don't spend your words on us weird.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: Can you add you can you literally imagine this the this this this is what we're doing right now?
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: It's an award-winning podcast.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: It just sounds like it just sounds so ridiculous.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Me doing eating bananas in suspicious ways, doing stupid shit, um, and games, which clearly nobody cares about because you know they have a response.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: This is this is award-winning content.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: So no, this there should definitely not be.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: No, okay.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: But yeah, certainly my vote will be for the boost podcast because yeah, the the amount of work I know that both week and Nick do in terms of preparing all that content is actually useful sort of content as well.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, I think yeah, they need to win sort of hands down.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: So please do uh vote for them if you do get a chance.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: Uh uh there's also as well the M365's distilled podcast as well.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: They've got quite a good gimmick.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: They they actually they they give some useful content, but they do whiskey, they taste whiskeys on the podcast.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that's that's got quite a nice theme, actually.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: So maybe that maybe they could beat all of us to the posts, maybe there, given that obviously we're in Edinburgh, capital of whiskey, arguably.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: So that would make sense.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: There's definitely a connection, so yeah.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Um, but also there are many more other um awards and categories, such as Community Rising Star Award or Best Blocker Award, Social Impact Award, and for all of the different as well, Biz ups and as well categories there.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: So yeah, um, definitely go there, Volt.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: We will put the um the link in the description.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: So I I yeah, I definitely wanted to mention that because like it's like like what the fuck, what were we doing on this list?
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: So um exactly, and and a shout out as well, because also uh the Manchester Even edition of our Dynamics 365 and Power Platform User Group was also uh nominated quite surprisingly as well, as under the best user group sort of category.
- 14:50SPEAKER_01: So that was indeed quite a nice surprise to sort of see.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: So for those who don't know, I'm involved in uh in kind of uh helping to organise and run that event uh alongside uh Adrian, Damien, uh Tom, and Danielle in Manchester.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: Our next meeting is actually on the 30th next week, uh uh 30th September.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: So do if you are based in Manchester, do come and check out these events over there.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Uh and I say, yeah, if you do feel that yeah, our user group is um is worthy of that title, then yeah, uh your votes will be sort of appreciated.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: I I I'm more comfortable saying, okay, vote for the user group than for this this piece of fucking shit podcast.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Let's let's have it right.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: So thank you for yeah, there you go.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: I went I went straight in, I went straight in.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: And this is more that's more of a reflection on me than you when I say okay, good, okay.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: So because my work is great, so I'm similar as great as the Nordic Summit of us, um, which I attended uh this week, which is for you last week, because this arrives for you on Monday.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: So last week from your perspective, I went to Nordic Summit, which was great.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Um, really nice, nice event.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: It was my first time, and I was really looking forward to.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Um I believe I believe there are some videos I've never seen you happier before.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: It was over dinner, over dinner with Lego.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Honestly, you and Bjorn and Matt.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: I've never seen German people as happy as well.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: We may need to put this as well on the socials, but because we we built what we did, tells us what we did.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we sorry on the speakers then.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: So, first of all, it wasn't legal and which is already a childhood dream for me.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Um, but um going there, but I think to be fair, we never had the money to go there when I was a child.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: So um that's not beautiful.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or or or I was then at some point I was too old, and my my elder my parents were like, he doesn't need that.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Um but I ever wanted to go there, and um actually um we had a dinner there, it was nice, and our our table, there were like four or five tables, and our table was like next, directly in like armed reach uh to a box of Legos, uh like it actually actually was three boxes of Legos, and we looked at each other and said, Okay, this is our duty now, this is our goal of the evening.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: We need to build something cool, and then we started to pull out the Lego and put it on our desk um or on the table next to all of the food and the butter, which may one or twice or maybe five times land it in the Lego, or vice versa, you can decide on the story.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: And we ended up uh not only building a salt and pepper transport machine which is made out of cars and could fly if Daniel Laskowitz would be happy to catch it, but he was not, so we didn't try the flying features.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but then we switched over to build a ginormous roller coaster on the table.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Um, we had some good project managers on the team with with Yannick, for example, but also some less and more experienced builders with Nathan, um Bjorn, and as well Matz.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And uh yeah, it was great fun.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: So really, really nice experience.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: That's like it's like literally like just a reenactment of like the German miracle in the 50s and 60s in terms of just uh industry rising again, German engineering.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: So I love it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Exactly, exactly.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: So but how do you how did your session go, Sebastian?
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just wanted to to over that because for German engineering as well, need to have skills, and skills was also my sessions about um it was a 20-minute session, so I had to pack a lot off into 20 minutes, but surprisingly, to all of the attendees, myself, the organizers, and everyone out there listening to this podcast, I finished in 19 minutes 30 seconds.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: So I put everything picture perfect into this 20 minutes that people can start with their skills, and um, so far I have not seen the feedback so yet, but um the feedback in in person there was great.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: So people liked it.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: I would not say people loved it, I think this is too much, but um it went very well.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: I I heard some good things from our fellow MVP friends, Alan DeRocca and Christine, they were all very complimentary about your session, so yeah.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: That's good, that's good.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: So good job.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Good, yes.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and overall, I think the event was quite good.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: So I was very well intended.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Um, food was great, location was great, um, keynote was nice.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so many experts, so many people talking about the the latest and greatest, um, including, for example, managed apps.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: So this um was the little announcement we teased last time in the last episode, where we were like, we were not so sure what we can tell you because we only have seen some um pre-release information to that, and we only knew that it would be announced.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: But um I as well thought again that like the announcement would be bigger because um managed apps is really to maybe change some things up in terms of like how can you create an application?
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: What is an application, um, where should it point to?
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Do we need to have a user interface and all of that stuff?
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: So explain it to me like a five-year-old, because I I need to get my head around this in terms of something in the power platform.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Do we do I need to write code to build a manage app?
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: And we are finally back to my favorite uh consultancy work.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: Um, it depends, Joseph.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: It depends.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: It depends.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: So um managed apps is basically a new format of um apps which are loosely based on code apps from a technology-wise perspective, and you can generate them at the moment in um cowork, so in cowork, of course, because you do have a new app skill.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: So you with the slash command, you can have access to all of the skills you have installed which are out of the box, and one of the out-of-the-box skills is now the app skill, and this initializes the creation of an app, so it creates all of the code and as well, of course, the UI of the app which you describe.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: So you could just go to cowork slash app, describe what you want, and then you have an app.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Um, from the power platform perspective, it is not directly mandatory to bound it to Dataverse or the PowerPlatform itself.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: It more like lives on its own layer, I would say, but you can definitely hook it up to um dataverse as a knowledge as a data source, but you can as well use SharePoint or any kind of um SQL you do have around to JS3 to shift the data with.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: And you can build applications that just show data, you can build applications that really um change the data as well, and you have an impact on that.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And you can easily share that within your tenant.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Um, so you can share it with people who are just an Basically have an account in the same tenant and then go ahead with that.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: And from an admin perspective, you do have managed apps.cloud.com.com, I think.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: We'll put a link in the description because I'm I'm not sure.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: I'm just rephrasing this from my head.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Um, where you can as well then um navigate and uh manage all of these apps, managed apps, and um see what was built within the organization.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And it's more like not sitting on the environment, it's more like a global approach.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So you build it, you test it, and then you share it directly with people.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: So you mentioned the word cowork there.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: So are we in a consumption-based scenario here?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: We need to so everything that happens on cowork is consumption-based.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I think as well, the the usage of the app is somewhat consumption-based.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I would uh expect because it's still in preview, there is still some um yeah, some a try-out phase.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: Um I have not seen any different, but I think at some point it will be um related to uh consumption-based users as well for the apps as well.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: But essentially, with this, we're kind of completely abstracting away the backend kind of database in terms of okay, where you host the data is kind of up to you.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: So kind of yes, Camera Plus Plus almost.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Yes, so so Microsoft acts more again like the platform host.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: So you I bring the platform and you can build whatever you want on this platform.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: And managed apps, I think, is like the the peak of that at the moment, where you can just bring whatever you like, um, bring data from any connection reference you you would like to, and then visualize the data, bring it together with dataverse tables or with of information from Outlook or whatever, and then um make use of that and um build it in a UI or UX that end users are comfortable to use with.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I've now tried it several times, it's alright, I think it's quite nice.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: So um it is not too does not look 100% AI generated, it is um making good decisions, I think.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Um, also I tried it in connection with other skills that, for example, I want to do something, and I use the app skill to generate me an app like that, and this was also working very well.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: So, chaining of skills um is definitely a thing which um I need to dig a bit deeper into it, that I may just not need to trigger 15 skills but just reference to them.
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: Um, so this works very, very well.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I'm so far.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm really I'm really like it, I would say.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: It's weird that like everything is managed, so you have managed environments, you have managed identities, you have managed apps now.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: So at some point we are just managed humans, maybe, but let's see what's next.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: And I think, yeah, good addition.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Um, really interesting in terms of like the concept of um, as you mentioned, bring in different databases, bring in um different data sources, uh, not relying on bringing everything to Dataverse first and then build something in Canvas app of like what you see is what you get, drag and drop and stuff like that, but really like um enhancing end users to build what they need.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: So, do you think you'll ever build a model-driven or canvas app again?
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes, of course, of course.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: I I do think that for all of these different possibilities of building apps.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: So I I will not build a canvas app because I never build a can, I built like two canvas apps in my life, and I will keep it at this number.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: But uh there is room, I think, for all of the different approaches, all of the different apps, all of the different likeliness of customers and end users, because at the end, you you don't build something that's like at the top notch of technology or of the of the cutting edge, is it right?
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Cutting edge technology edge, yeah.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Um, so you don't build something like that for like every and each customer.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Um, you build something that fits to the customer journey and to their current story.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: And when when I look at AI and where customers are, and so I I mean, we there are still people um want to migrate from on-premise to online.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, they can skip thousands of steps and failures we had in between, so they get there pretty easily, but they're still not there in having a headless dynamics environment or headless power apps environment which just for runs for skills and comments and um natural language inputs and generates mcp apps and whatever.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: This is this is not there.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: There may be a few of them, and they're happy about all of that, but I think model driven apps, canvas apps, code apps, managed apps, there is a room for for every app in every project.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: So it only depends on the customer.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, I need to take a close look at it myself.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: How do you how do you like this this platform approach that you can literally like um yeah, with the power platform, you can just build everything what you want, and you you have more than three approaches for a problem?
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Well, it's it's the sort of um to maybe position it uh in a kind of the way that we want.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: It's kind of it's always been the case that Microsoft gives a smorgasbord of different sort of options, and the idea is that okay, depending on your persona, uh what your comfort level is, you've got different routes in.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: So whether you're just you know kind of a person who can build a slide deck, you should be able to build an app.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Whether you're a you know a pro coder or a bit of a vibe coder, you can build an app.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: So it's just you know, it's really just I guess the intention is to guess to make the barriers of entry as low as possible.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: So regardless of who you are, you can get going, you can get started, and you can maybe hopefully have some fun along the way.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Does this remember you uh some point back when we point back like six years or so, like to some introduction of Canvas apps and model driven apps and power apps on a maker portal?
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: Is that something that rings a bell?
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Does it sound familiar?
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, this the you've basically just described my life form as the past decade, so yeah, this is very familiar to me, yes.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's it's literally the same story again, which is um also a little bit my conclusion that like AI is more like the tool you're using to deduce something, um, and you need to to learn that very similar as any other tool in your job.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: It's just the new thing, it's just like it's spread out to like every business, every end user, everyone.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: But the the the Microsoft platform more or less stays the same.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: So um features all of these important uh new features and as well brings in all of his capabilities uh to enable you, and then what you do with it is slowly up to you.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: So definitely same same but different.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Speaking of new AI sort of stuff, we've got the do you hear about the GPT six Astra?
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: Um that is that will be as well part of my presentation next week because um when you listen to that uh on Monday, I will be in in Stuttgart on Tuesday and Wednesday for an AI it's AI Palozer event where I will talk in German about exactly that.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: There is a new GPT-6 astro and lunar um models, and like so specially is a half an hour before there was OPS 5.5 announced, and the day before there was a new GROK model announced, so all of this new stuff um I will basically talk about there.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Um, what is I think the the the most important thing to know is that like these models have a um similar output rate in terms of quality, like the so-called frontier models, but also very less cost, and and this could be already like the first trend.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Um, we have waited for that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: Um we do have good models with a good quality output, but at lower cost compared to like a high frontier model.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: So you you don't need to have fable 5.1 to summarize your free email chain from last week.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: You don't need to do that.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: It's it's not it's not the scrape of that.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: So go local or go broke, potentially.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: No, I I don't think yeah, I think for for local it's it's still I mean in some cases it's useful.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: I do have a I did I told you I do have a local model running on my iPad.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: So that's a little wild.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I did see.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: It's super slow, but it's nice.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: I just use it on the on the on the plane.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I did see a company at the Air Horizons event that who were selling the the rigs now, so full rig, GPU, server rack, and basically uh on there you can run hugging face, you can run your local models and stuff like that.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Um these things we may have I think we may have touched upon this before, these things are always kind of cyclical, uh, much like history itself.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: We go, you know, we originally started off by having you know in the 70s and 80s, okay, you have your your dummy terminals connected to a server, then everything going back to the computer again, then we all went back to the cloud again.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: So I wonder whether you know at some point with all this AI stuff, okay, back to local, local like large language models on the local machine, small language models, and this is what we're this is how we're basically consuming this stuff.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like my question would be like how how fast is like this whole development to like till you get the the cost investment back.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: So so basically talking full on my my management role.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: So what is the return of investment on that?
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: When when is like the break-even point to like save money on that?
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: And and when I need to kind of upgrade all of my GPUs to like handle the next model in two weeks, which comes out, or um what is about that or this use case?
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: So this is still something where I uh not too sure about if you find the answer to that.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: If you find the answer to that, do please let me know.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: I will I will I will first um run my business, my own business then, and once I earned enough interest and money, I will let you know.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: But speaking of um AI Horizons in Prague, um I think we still can squeeze it in.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: How was it?
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: Because I was not there, surprisingly.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it was an interesting event.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: It's organized by the uh the same people who behind the power conference which in December, uh, which we're gonna be out doing a workshop.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Uh that's a whole lot that's a whole other uh can of worms there, which uh we won't get into now.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Um, but no, it was quite good.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: It was it's there's a leaning towards the Microsoft side of things, but I did get the feeling that it's maybe it was more of a general AI kind of event.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Um I had there were some good sessions there.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: Uh shout out to uh Anna uh Inez um and um uh as well.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: Um it's just terrible.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: I'm forgetting names already.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: Denisa, apologies, Denise.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: I'm still quite tired.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, they did a great session on we can cut this out, maybe.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, thank you to Anna and Denise.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Great session, great demo on uh work IQ, uh particularly as well how you can use work IQ alongside the uh GitHub Copilot HANAS uh experience.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, definitely uh if you're not already familiar with work IQ, you need to sort of get your head around that.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: I know that you Seb have done quite a bit of work.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: Uh not the job, no pun intended, you've done a lot of work with work IQ.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, it's definitely, I think, an important aspect when you're booting in the agent for that additional uh given that additional context and also access some nice lovely MCP kind of tools targeted.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I I've done a lot of work in work IQ to be fair, which I'm not yet uh to talk about, but this is maybe an uh topic for uh um next episode.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: Also, topic for next episode is the special somewhat live episode at the Power Platform Community Conference, which we will tell you more about next week.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: In two weeks.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: Yes, something like that in two weeks.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Every two weeks, Unresolved Dependencies.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: We are here to resolve this thing here, but to be honest.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Today was quite smooth, right?
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: Today we are not really I mean, we didn't you didn't.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I I just I I just basically was swinging water at the start.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: I said the podcast was fucking shit.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Um you know, so I think we've we've done pretty well today, you know.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so as well.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: You did you didn't blame my new ugly haircut, which is still incredible to me how uh professional hairdresser can do this to a man's cut to like screw it up like that.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: But you know, we would we we would talk about this before the podcast came on, and literally what he did was he did not complain to the hairdresser in the moment.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: He was all like, Oh, thank you, thank you for my nice haircut.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: Oh would you like a tip as well, please?
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah, but do you do you compare do you complain to the hairdresser when you're like in this like chair with like all of the thing on?
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: She has like her um machine in her hand which she can just easily cut all of your remaining hairs.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: You don't complain, you're just like, yeah, thanks, that's fine.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: You do you do know that that's legal attacking attacking and kidding someone is illegal, so I'm sure that'll be a strong deterrent for I'm not sure.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, what she did to my hair was already illegal enough, so the your hair looks fine.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: You can't complain compared to me, you can't complain about your hair, okay?
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: So your hair complaints pretty fine.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: Here is is all what I still have left.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: Okay, I think it looks fine.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Personally speaking, I think it looks fine, but okay, if you want to take it with your hairdresser as a separate matter in I I don't know, I have a new hairdresser.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: I like going to like a fully different saloon to a different place, which is already hard enough because there are only two places here, and I already tried both of them, and both are shit.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: So I need to, I know you drive to a different city, I think.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: Next time, please do provide your feedback.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Uh also as well, provide your feedback against this podcast if you uh if you like as well.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm sure it would be great to receive that.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: So again, hello unresolved resolve dependencies.com.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: Do please let us know.
- 37:06SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: Don't vote for us at the UK community awards, please.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: Work for someone more useful and more precious to the com community.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Take care.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: See you next time.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: See you later.
- 37:21SPEAKER_01: Bye bye.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: Bye bye.
