- 0:01Speaker 1: It hits in access to Mark by setting a freeset
- 0:04Speaker 1: in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and his podcast.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on WR. I
- 0:13Speaker 2: was thinking about how to introduce Curtis Well, what am
- 0:15Speaker 2: I thinking? You don't have to introduce him. Everybody knows him,
- 0:17Speaker 2: everybody loves Curtis Lee. Well, he's the Republican candidate for mayor.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Make sure you get out there and vote tomorrow. And
- 0:23Speaker 2: he's with us right now. Curtis Lee, Well, how you doing.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm doing great. I'm in Brooklyn, Cris crossing the five boroughs,
- 0:31Speaker 1: heading the Staten Island. And I got to tell you
- 0:34Speaker 1: there's a lot of energy out there, Mark, a lot
- 0:37Speaker 1: of love. And as you said, everybody loves Curtis. Now,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I just got to get them to vote for me.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can vote for him tomorrow. There's no
- 0:45Speaker 2: voting today, but tomorrow. Hey, I got to ask you
- 0:47Speaker 2: this is a very important question. Did you watch Saturday
- 0:49Speaker 2: Night Live? Did you see the sketch they did?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Yes? I did. I did watch it live, obviously, I
- 0:55Speaker 1: watched it in the wee hours in the morning. As
- 0:57Speaker 1: you know, Mark, having been my colleague for a year, is.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I love satire, I love parodies, and that's exactly what
- 1:06Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live is. Take it or leave it. It
- 1:09Speaker 1: has no impact on the campaign.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Uh well, actually brought up the fact that your former
- 1:15Speaker 2: your former life, your bravery, courage standing up to the mob.
- 1:18Speaker 2: No matter what they did to you, you didn't back down.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They portrayed Cuomo as a kind of a sleazy politician,
- 1:25Speaker 2: They did Demandami as a guy who can't deliver anything.
- 1:28Speaker 2: So take it as a compliment. It was pretty good
- 1:30Speaker 2: for you that shoe.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It pretty much came across that if you were a
- 1:34Speaker 1: young woman, if you under thirty, Cuomo would be flirty
- 1:39Speaker 1: with you. So I got a good belly laugh out
- 1:41Speaker 1: of that.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Now let me ask you again. The mob they
- 1:44Speaker 2: tried to kill you numerous times, they shot, they did everything.
- 1:48Speaker 2: You didn't back down. So why would a billionaire think
- 1:50Speaker 2: you're going to back down if he tries to bribe
- 1:52Speaker 2: you out of the race.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well, because Mark, as some have said to me, come on, Curtis,
- 1:58Speaker 1: everybody has a price. The final offer was ten million,
- 2:02Speaker 1: drop out of the race. Ten million. You'll be a hero,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I said, hero, I said, I'm the only Republican candidate
- 2:09Speaker 1: I'm a mainstream kennidate. You want me to throw my
- 2:13Speaker 1: support to a loser, a guy who when he started
- 2:16Speaker 1: a March of twenty twenty five was forty points ahead
- 2:20Speaker 1: of Johan Mandami in the Democratic primary. And you remember, Mark,
- 2:24Speaker 1: nobody knew Johan Mandami, only his neighbors. And that story
- 2:27Speaker 1: A knew it. I said, because of angel Como's failure
- 2:30Speaker 1: to campaign. It elevated this guy, this this socialist, this
- 2:35Speaker 1: guy wants to destroy New York to international status. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: now you're gonna leave it to Angrew CMO again. Well, look,
- 2:44Speaker 1: failure follows failure.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, let me ask you a question. These people
- 2:48Speaker 2: that say get out of the race. You could not
- 2:51Speaker 2: get out of the race if you wanted to, could you?
- 2:52Speaker 2: How would you get out? You can't take your name
- 2:54Speaker 2: off the ballot.
- 2:56Speaker 1: No, And it's interesting, Mark, you still have people say, oh,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you could drop out today? Are you nuts? Are you
- 3:03Speaker 1: people out there who babble this out of fear fright
- 3:07Speaker 1: and his sterea of Jorhamandami? Do you not understand it's
- 3:10Speaker 1: one person, one vote. Billionaires, influencers, insiders. I'm not gonna
- 3:15Speaker 1: pick the next mayor. The people are and You're totally right, Mark,
- 3:19Speaker 1: I am the Republican Kennedy. There are only two major parties.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Johan won his primary fair and square and kicked Andrew Adams.
- 3:28Speaker 1: But there's no doubt about it. Beat them by thirteen
- 3:31Speaker 1: points convincingly. And I nobody challenged me in a Republican primary.
- 3:36Speaker 1: The time to challenge me was then, So guess what
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm in it to win. It got a lot of
- 3:41Speaker 1: support out there, have been rallying people throughout the five
- 3:44Speaker 1: boroughs and you know me, Mark, twenty hours of a
- 3:48Speaker 1: twenty four hour day, I'm campaigning. I just came from
- 3:51Speaker 1: Coney Island Stillwell Avenue where I laid a reef at
- 3:55Speaker 1: the site where remember Dabrina Kuwam was set on fire
- 3:59Speaker 1: like a human to watch December twenty second of twenty
- 4:02Speaker 1: twenty four by that illegal aliad. And what was that
- 4:06Speaker 1: the result of Democrats? What was that to result off
- 4:09Speaker 1: Eric Adams Swagerman with no plan, who should have been
- 4:12Speaker 1: in jail for corruption, and Andrew Cuomo no cash, bail,
- 4:16Speaker 1: Cuomo raised eh Cuomo turned criminals loose from Righteous Island CuMo.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And you think Democrats are going to restore law enforcement
- 4:27Speaker 1: to where it needs to be like in the days
- 4:29Speaker 1: of Rudy Giuliani. No I am Rudy Giuliani two point zero, Marcus.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You know he's endorsed me. George Battaki has endorsed me.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Ninety three, Rudy saved the city the next year, PATTACKI
- 4:40Speaker 1: beat the better Cuomo, Mario Cuomo. We had no corruption,
- 4:44Speaker 1: we had a reduction in crime and no chaos. Then
- 4:48Speaker 1: the Democrats came back with a vengine. We had Deblasio.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Then you had CuMo as governor who fled fearing impeachment,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and Eric Adams, who should be in jail. More chaos,
- 4:59Speaker 1: more corrupt in, more crime. It's obvious we go the
- 5:02Speaker 1: Republican route. Elect me mayor. Next year, we elect congresswoman
- 5:06Speaker 1: at least Stefani to be the governor. We poo down
- 5:10Speaker 1: Kathy Hokl and we get this state and city back
- 5:12Speaker 1: on track.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Now, when he says Rudy Giuliani two point out, let
- 5:16Speaker 2: me point out. Rudy Giuliani said he's Rudy Giuliani two
- 5:19Speaker 2: point out. So Rudy himself said that, you know, Mamdani
- 5:25Speaker 2: only became a citizen like a couple months ago. I
- 5:27Speaker 2: mean he's just recently became a US citizen, moved here.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Cuomo has lived his entire adult life in the suburbs.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You're an expert historian. If we ever had somebody run
- 5:36Speaker 2: from mayor who didn't live in New York City in
- 5:38Speaker 2: their adult life.
- 5:40Speaker 1: No, no, that was almost a prerequisite that you had
- 5:44Speaker 1: that credibility. But again, times have changed, and Mark simone.
- 5:49Speaker 1: One thing I can tell all of your listeners, Boy,
- 5:52Speaker 1: have you been consistent? Mark? You warned everybody in twenty
- 5:56Speaker 1: twenty one that if they elected Eric Adams against me
- 5:59Speaker 1: there would be chaos and corruption. You are spot on.
- 6:03Speaker 1: You've been with me every step of the way. And
- 6:06Speaker 1: I just want to thank you at w or R
- 6:09Speaker 1: because you've been a strong supporter. They've given me equal
- 6:13Speaker 1: opportunity to speak on issues. The place that I left
- 6:17Speaker 1: for ever, Mark, I burned old bridges w abc oo.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Far Well, you're not burning that bridge. We all love
- 6:25Speaker 2: that place. We were all there for years.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That'll work out maybe maybe you Mark, not me. Damage
- 6:32Speaker 1: has been done. That's where this whole movement to drop
- 6:36Speaker 1: out Sleeve was started. It should have never started in
- 6:39Speaker 1: the family, it did. So Now, hey, Mark, I get
- 6:43Speaker 1: to listen to w o R all the time. Isn't
- 6:46Speaker 1: that great?
- 6:47Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, hey, doors always open here. But we
- 6:51Speaker 2: will hope you'll be mayor, but that that would be
- 6:53Speaker 2: even better for New York.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Uh, well, I'll tell you this. How about this as
- 6:58Speaker 1: the mayor Friday's mid warnings, we get an hour occurtevely
- 7:03Speaker 1: at some point in the day, and you get to
- 7:05Speaker 1: be the inquisitor of March Simone because nobody's been on
- 7:08Speaker 1: radio longer, nobody has the credibility of the pedigree you do.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Nobody knows more about radio than March Simone.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well thanks, well, curtisly what would be a great mayor
- 7:18Speaker 2: of New York? Now? What do you do tonight and tomorrow?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Obviously no campaign tomorrow, or do you still do it?
- 7:26Speaker 1: No? No, I go with my wife. She'll be voting
- 7:29Speaker 1: on a independent line she created for me. Protect animals,
- 7:33Speaker 1: no killed shelters, and we put animal abuses in jail.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And then I run around to all the policing sites,
- 7:40Speaker 1: shaking the hands of the Board of Election employees. What
- 7:43Speaker 1: he'd been having to work hard with early voting. And
- 7:46Speaker 1: tomorrow we may have a record setting vote that hasn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: been equal since John Lindsey in nineteen sixty nine, the
- 7:54Speaker 1: miracle met half a million strong up the Woodstock and
- 7:58Speaker 1: the first man walking on the moon. It's all come
- 8:01Speaker 1: full circle. Marks Simone.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the fact that the turnout is like five six
- 8:06Speaker 2: times normal, we'll probably hit over two million votes, which
- 8:08Speaker 2: is unheard of. What does that mean? Who are these
- 8:11Speaker 2: extra people turning out?
- 8:13Speaker 1: Don't know? Mark? I know my people were turning out
- 8:15Speaker 1: because we micro targeted them months in advance. And as
- 8:19Speaker 1: you know, that's what politics is now. That's how Trump
- 8:21Speaker 1: got elected overwhelmingly won the popular vote the seven battleground states.
- 8:26Speaker 1: The RNC was out there months and months ahead of time,
- 8:29Speaker 1: door knocking, lit dropping, emails, snail mails, texting and phone
- 8:35Speaker 1: calls relentlessly. But the most important thing micro targeting, knowing
- 8:39Speaker 1: where your voters are. We've been at this more than
- 8:41Speaker 1: three months. We know that's how Zoron won the primary.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I got to tell you, Mark Simone into Cuomo again,
- 8:49Speaker 1: just like in the primary, dot a get out the
- 8:52Speaker 1: vote effort very late into this campaign. This has to
- 8:55Speaker 1: be done months and months ahead. And look, he's been
- 8:59Speaker 1: a dollar short, although he's had millions and millions and
- 9:03Speaker 1: millions from the billionaires, but a dollar short when it's
- 9:06Speaker 1: time to get that vote out, and he's been a
- 9:09Speaker 1: day late. And today he said he's partly gonna do
- 9:12Speaker 1: retail campaigning. He's gonna come out of those closed meetings
- 9:15Speaker 1: where you get vetted, where you're given a banned on
- 9:20Speaker 1: your wrisk to prove that you're a Cuomo supporter. He's
- 9:23Speaker 1: afraid he has an aversion to deal with people. I
- 9:26Speaker 1: treat the public like amash pit. I'm in the subways
- 9:29Speaker 1: every day with friends and foes and a lot of
- 9:32Speaker 1: people asking questions. That's how you win elections. And I
- 9:35Speaker 1: will be campaigning right through the overnight, going from subways
- 9:40Speaker 1: to streets, the diners and trying to get those last
- 9:44Speaker 1: votes before electioneering stops. And then we just wait for
- 9:48Speaker 1: the tabulation on November fourth tonight.
- 9:51Speaker 2: That's tomorrow night. And so nine o'clock tomorrow night the
- 9:54Speaker 2: polls close. Where will you be tomorrow night.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'll probably still be fielding calls from we have homes
- 10:00Speaker 1: out there, Mark Simon telling me to drop out, suck
- 10:06Speaker 1: go oons. So still not We'll be saying, hey, Sleeward,
- 10:10Speaker 1: did you consider a unity taken? Did you consider dropping out?
- 10:14Speaker 1: I don't know. They've lost their minds mart, so they've
- 10:17Speaker 1: gone crazy.
- 10:19Speaker 2: How much money would you say you've turned down twenty million,
- 10:21Speaker 2: thirty million altogether?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Now now the seventh off fort was ten million dollars.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And then I warned them that from now on I
- 10:30Speaker 1: will be wired up like a Christmas tree, so anything
- 10:33Speaker 1: they offer to me will be heard by investigators. And
- 10:37Speaker 1: all of a sudden the calls stopped. And then what
- 10:39Speaker 1: they threatened my wife Nancy? They threatened me I now
- 10:42Speaker 1: have to travel with armed security. You know, Mark, you
- 10:45Speaker 1: were in the studios at WABC after I got shot.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I never had armed security and the mob was still
- 10:51Speaker 1: after me. But this election cycle, the hate, the rhetoric,
- 10:56Speaker 1: the absolute insanity on the minds of some people have
- 11:01Speaker 1: caused me to have to protect the best thing that
- 11:04Speaker 1: ever happened to me. My wife Nancy, who's been with
- 11:07Speaker 1: me side by side in this campaign, can't say that
- 11:10Speaker 1: about doing Mondmie. We never see his wife, and hey,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know with Andrew, he's a little too handy. I
- 11:16Speaker 1: don't think many women want to be around him.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Well, Curtis, good luck. I'd love to see his mayor.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You'd be a great mayor of New York and we
- 11:25Speaker 2: don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, but good luck
- 11:27Speaker 2: with everything.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And we'll turn out. And you've always been there giving
- 11:31Speaker 1: me that tactical as support. I appreciate that, and I
- 11:33Speaker 1: appreciate all the listeners and those who have contributed to
- 11:38Speaker 1: your success at.
- 11:38Speaker 2: W O watch all right, Curtis, good luck, Thanks for being.
- 11:41Speaker 1: With us anytime.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Mark all right, take care. Yeah, it's too crazy a
- 11:47Speaker 2: race with the poles there. Poles are not that accurate.
- 11:50Speaker 2: We don't know what's going to happen. You can't trust
- 11:52Speaker 2: these poles. Anything could happen tomorrow. Hey, Buck and Clay,
- 11:57Speaker 2: excellent show every day, Buck and Clay noon to three.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'll be the guest today at I'll be one of
- 12:02Speaker 2: the guests today. I'll be on about one thirty on
- 12:05Speaker 2: the Buck and Clay shows. We'll be listening to that
- 12:07Speaker 2: today on seven ten WOIR
