- 0:07Speaker 1: All right, I did ride this train into luth It's
- 0:09Speaker 1: called the North Pacific Railway. It takes you along the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Northern shore and it was a lot of fun.
- 0:14Speaker 2: It was really cool. It's like a two hour train ride.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Is it like scenic? And yeah, oh yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's in the middle of the Fall Woods or it
- 0:21Speaker 1: was in the middle of the fall Woods along the
- 0:22Speaker 1: north shore there on Lake Superior. But before I hop
- 0:25Speaker 1: on this train, I'm there with my mother, my father,
- 0:29Speaker 1: my younger sister, my older brother, my wife, and we,
- 0:33Speaker 1: you know, go up kind of by the entrance store.
- 0:35Speaker 1: You walk on the train and just get a little
- 0:37Speaker 1: family photo. Right before this photo. And I'm talking, right
- 0:41Speaker 1: before we take this picture, we're all standing there. This
- 0:44Speaker 1: woman and I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but she
- 0:47Speaker 1: looks a little disheveled.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Okay, she walks up to me.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I have on this green North Pacific Railway sweatshirt that
- 0:55Speaker 1: I just bought from the gift shop.
- 0:56Speaker 2: All right, I have on these tan jogger pants.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Right, so I guess I can understand why I might
- 1:03Speaker 1: look like I work there. You know, I almost looked
- 1:05Speaker 1: like employee or something. Yeah, But this poor woman who
- 1:09Speaker 1: looks a bit disheveled, walks up to me and she says, they,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I just wanted to let you know that there is
- 1:16Speaker 1: a needle on the ground over there and where she points.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I have no clue. Okay, this poor lady. And I
- 1:24Speaker 1: was just and you know, she wasn't looking great. Okay,
- 1:26Speaker 1: there's tiny chance it could have been hers.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but I couldn't quite hear.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And I'm like, wait what And she was like, there's
- 1:34Speaker 1: a needle on the ground over there. And I was like, oh, well, hey,
- 1:39Speaker 1: thanks for telling me. I really appreciate that. And then
- 1:43Speaker 1: I was like, oh, she thinks I work here? Yeah,
- 1:46Speaker 1: And then I was like, oh, I don't actually work here.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I just bought the sweatshirt inside. And this lady says
- 1:52Speaker 1: to me, she goes, well, you know, you just have
- 1:55Speaker 1: this aura about you that I felt like I had
- 1:57Speaker 1: to tell you stop. And it's like, wow, we hey,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I appreciate that. You know what, in there is someone
- 2:03Speaker 1: who can probably take care of that. Long story short,
- 2:06Speaker 1: my wife and my mom and brother and dad, they're
- 2:09Speaker 1: all looking at like, why is it always you well.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Why are you always trying to dress like the employees
- 2:15Speaker 3: of the place of you us.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It's just there is something about me, and I am
- 2:20Speaker 1: so proud of it that things like this happen to
- 2:24Speaker 1: me frequently. Okay, Me and some strange individuals just always
- 2:29Speaker 1: seem to attract towards each other.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I feel it is what it is.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It keeps life interesting at the very least. But I'm
- 2:35Speaker 3: sure that you're someone who throws on a red polo
- 2:38Speaker 3: before going to target and then seems surprised.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Well, someone asks you, well, I'm gonna start. I've never
- 2:44Speaker 1: done that. But my point is, if you're a little
- 2:46Speaker 1: bit off kilter, if you're a bit weird, you and
- 2:48Speaker 1: I would probably be best friends. Okay, seven oh one
- 2:52Speaker 1: two eight zero one nine eight seven. Everybody has that friend,
- 2:55Speaker 1: has that buddy, that bestie, that family member. That weirdos
- 2:59Speaker 1: just seems to be attracted to them. I am that
- 3:02Speaker 1: friend for you here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But let me know any weird stories like that for you.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Maybe you're that weirdo like me. I want to hear
- 3:10Speaker 1: about it so I know I'm not the only one.
- 3:12Speaker 1: But it was quite the wild experience. I mean, she
- 3:16Speaker 1: like parted my family like the Red Sea to get
- 3:19Speaker 1: to me to tell me about this needle. It was
- 3:21Speaker 1: pretty wild, all right. So my little victory is my
- 3:31Speaker 1: wife and I went grocery shopping yesterday and I got
- 3:33Speaker 1: a really nice bowl.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Of soup at nine thirty to eat for lunch. What's
- 3:38Speaker 2: here to sprint through? I'm all invested in what kind
- 3:43Speaker 2: of soup I got.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Technically, I don't even think it's a soup. I think
- 3:47Speaker 1: it's more of a stew. But didnte more beef stew?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Enough of that?
- 3:51Speaker 2: What are you doing today? Okay?
- 3:53Speaker 3: So my little victory is that I have come up
- 3:56Speaker 3: with yet another costume for Hallow Week. I struggled to
- 3:59Speaker 3: come up with by the way, and I appreciate that.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You think I'm so creative and so good at this,
- 4:04Speaker 3: but I'd be laying up at night thinking what am
- 4:06Speaker 3: I gonna do this time? So today, let me adjust
- 4:10Speaker 3: my voice a bit. I'm Angelo, the short King, So
- 4:15Speaker 3: I got my crown on, I got a fur coat,
- 4:18Speaker 3: and my name's Angelo.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And you're also I'm also what short? Yeah, I'm a
- 4:25Speaker 2: short king.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you got the burger king crown, which I think
- 4:29Speaker 1: fits in very well.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I really appreciate that today.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Thank you. I really I'm excited to just walk around
- 4:35Speaker 3: the office as the Short King because I want to
- 4:40Speaker 3: hit on Megan.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Because she's tall. Yeah she is all right. Well, be
- 4:46Speaker 2: on the lookout for that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I'm sure there will be a photo as well on
- 4:49Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point seven's Facebook page. Angie is just
- 4:52Speaker 1: crushing it the first two days here of hall a
- 4:54Speaker 1: week and this one is.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be tough to top this. To me,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I know, I have no you know what I'm gonna do.
- 5:01Speaker 1: You walked in this big maclamore looking fur coat, beard,
- 5:06Speaker 1: a crown on, and the first thing you said to
- 5:09Speaker 1: me even were in character.
- 5:10Speaker 2: You didn't even hit me with like good morning. You
- 5:12Speaker 2: hit me with like a.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Gabe would Gabe, I'm a short King.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, it was pretty good.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Filling in for Angie. Today's Angelo the Short King.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost important.
- 5:22Speaker 1: How am I supposed to read the trenders while I
- 5:25Speaker 1: look at you with this beard?
- 5:26Speaker 2: I don't know, man.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Have you ever interacted with a celebrity on social media?
- 5:36Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Have you ever had a celebrity encounter on social media?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Angie?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Because we always see these things with Drake. You know,
- 5:47Speaker 1: we see things like this kind of happen a lot.
- 5:49Speaker 1: It's just never happened to me.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it happened to you. Well I have, but
- 5:54Speaker 2: not like Drake, right, because there.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Was a kid who literally slid into Drake's DMS just
- 5:59Speaker 3: to ask him, hey, can you help me come up
- 6:00Speaker 3: with a senior quote? Yeah, first, and then Drake did it,
- 6:04Speaker 3: which is amazing. Yea, never something that like cool, but
- 6:09Speaker 3: I did so a long time ago. You ever watched
- 6:12Speaker 3: John Oliver last week Tonight with John Oliver?
- 6:15Speaker 2: I do know the show. Yes.
- 6:16Speaker 3: So there was a song about taxes on their One
- 6:20Speaker 3: Year that was sung by Michael Bolton. You remember Michael Bolton.
- 6:26Speaker 2: He sung that song on there.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It was like huge in the eighties for sure, and
- 6:31Speaker 3: he had long, ridiculous hair. Obviously he's, you know, in
- 6:34Speaker 3: my wheelhouse.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Because he's older man, and you know.
- 6:37Speaker 3: That's what I love. So Michael Bolton sings this song
- 6:40Speaker 3: about taxes on this show, and so I tweeted Michael
- 6:46Speaker 3: Bolton and I said, now I heart taxes, like because
- 6:50Speaker 3: you know, praising the song, and he tweeted me back
- 6:53Speaker 3: and he said, I heart you Angie.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh that's wonderful. Yes, I could have done.
- 6:59Speaker 3: I was ready at the that point. I was like,
- 7:01Speaker 3: still married, but I was ready to throw it all away.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I was like, if I can turn this into something,
- 7:07Speaker 3: and I didn't.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I didn't turn it into anything.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I just was so excited that I got a tweetback.
- 7:12Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I've had what I would consider, you know, like famous
- 7:15Speaker 1: radio people. Yeah, me and stuff like that, but never
- 7:19Speaker 1: not anyone on that level. If you know who Asher
- 7:22Speaker 1: Roth is, He's he's a rapper out of Philadelphia.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Oh, I know who that is? The I Love College song. Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Him and I DMed a little bit on Twitter once.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Oh that's cool.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, he was coming to Minneapolis and I basically just
- 7:35Speaker 1: shot my shot. I was like, hey, can I get
- 7:37Speaker 1: take us to the show I'm trying to go. I
- 7:39Speaker 1: was like twenty and bro, you know money, and he
- 7:42Speaker 1: was like, yeah, sure, man, I'll put you on the list.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah. It was pretty cool. It's cool, pretty sweet.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So I did ask this on Facebook, and I wanted
- 7:51Speaker 1: to know, Hey, any celebrity encounters on social media, and
- 7:56Speaker 1: we have Marcy she said, Lance Bass liked my dad
- 8:01Speaker 1: joke on TikTok and another one of my comments on
- 8:04Speaker 1: another video of his.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I think that's pretty cool.
- 8:07Speaker 3: That's major. What do you mean I was an in
- 8:10Speaker 3: sync girl all the way. I'm so jealous. That's really cool.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And you know what, She's not the only one who
- 8:14Speaker 1: can claim Lance Bass. Katrina also said Lance Bass on
- 8:19Speaker 1: TikTok will once in a while I interact or talk
- 8:22Speaker 1: to her. We do have Tory who said I've had
- 8:24Speaker 1: a couple interactions with Dan and Shay on Facebook and
- 8:27Speaker 1: Twitter over several years, which is pretty awesome, Starla, said
- 8:32Speaker 1: Sophia Bush. And then my final one for you, this
- 8:35Speaker 1: is great. Jessica says Iced Tea blocked my husband on Twitter.
- 8:41Speaker 1: A Kax, what was your husband saying to iced Tea
- 8:47Speaker 1: that caused him to get blocked? This is either very
- 8:49Speaker 1: funny yeah, or very very rude coffee?
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I choose to believe funny. Yeah. Wait, sorry I
- 8:58Speaker 2: stepped on you hit me with that again?
- 9:01Speaker 3: No, I said, maybe it was a dad joke that
- 9:03Speaker 3: guy that maybe he said he preferred coffee. I'm a
- 9:06Speaker 3: shade in a world of rules. In great areas, one
- 9:14Speaker 3: morning show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Is it legal to.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Drive five miles over the speed limit in North Dakota.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So fun fact, apparently in North Dakota, going five miles
- 9:30Speaker 1: over the speed limit is still completely illegal. Okay, I
- 9:36Speaker 1: know the whole five is fine when you're kind of
- 9:40Speaker 1: going over the speed limit, but it is totally made up.
- 9:42Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, it's not the law anywhere,
- 9:46Speaker 1: so much less North Dakota. That's not cool, or I guess,
- 9:49Speaker 1: not legal anywhere. I guess we've all just kind of
- 9:52Speaker 1: collectively have agreed and it's socially acceptable to.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Sort of just break the law a little bit while
- 9:58Speaker 2: we all drive.
- 10:00Speaker 1: So when you're cruising down ninety four and you're going
- 10:02Speaker 1: seventy five instead of seventy, you're not keeping up with traffic. Okay,
- 10:06Speaker 1: you're basically telling a police officer.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a rebel. You're just being polite about it.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I like that.
- 10:14Speaker 2: That's the kind of rebel I aspire to be.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Technically, a police officer can pull you over for going
- 10:21Speaker 1: one mile hour over the speed limit. Now they usually don't,
- 10:24Speaker 1: but that's up to them. This is basically North Dakota's
- 10:30Speaker 1: version of Russian Roulette, just with speed limit as opposed
- 10:34Speaker 1: to you know, the real Russian Roulette.
- 10:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 10:36Speaker 1: The next time you're going five over and feeling confident,
- 10:39Speaker 1: just remember you're not a good driver.
- 10:41Speaker 2: You're not a criminal mastermind.
- 10:44Speaker 1: I might just be burning a couple extra things of
- 10:46Speaker 1: gas mileage.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So there been fine.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I guess technically I've been breaking the law every single day.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It is hall a week, Angie.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You are rocking a short king costume, which I love.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Is right?
- 11:03Speaker 1: You have crushed it so far this week. And you
- 11:05Speaker 1: know what also a lot of people have been crushing
- 11:08Speaker 1: this week?
- 11:08Speaker 2: What scary movies?
- 11:10Speaker 1: It's all yeah, that'll show up on Netflix, Hulu, HBO,
- 11:14Speaker 1: Paramount or whichever one you enjoyed the most, maybe yes, Seacock, whatever,
- 11:17Speaker 1: whichever streaming service you're using a bunch of Do you
- 11:22Speaker 1: have a favorite like I don't know, just like classic movie.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I don't know if you want to call them like
- 11:29Speaker 2: a monster or villain.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Because there's one I loved as a kid, not for
- 11:35Speaker 1: any other reason other than we had a matching sweater.
- 11:40Speaker 2: What so you know, Freddy Freddy versus Jason.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Nightmare on ELM Street.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I had like a red striped sweater when I was
- 11:49Speaker 1: younger because I wanted to look like Kurt Cobain from Nirvana.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Oh okay, lo and behold look a lot more Freddy
- 11:56Speaker 2: the Kurt Cobain.
- 11:57Speaker 1: And so I went as Freddy for Halloween once and
- 12:00Speaker 1: I just happened to have the sweater I needed. I like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: Riddy is sort of my favorite and as horrible as
- 12:07Speaker 1: Freddie wasn't He's got a little bit of comedy to him.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I can see that. I don't. I feel like he
- 12:13Speaker 3: had cystic acne growing up. No, it was a.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Burn, right yeah?
- 12:17Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one, nine, eight seven.
- 12:20Speaker 1: If there's a movie monster that you know, I mean,
- 12:24Speaker 1: it scared you, you loved him, you love to hate him,
- 12:27Speaker 1: however you want to put it, Did you have one angie?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Anything like that?
- 12:30Speaker 3: I feel like this, Oh man, this is gonna age me.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But I feel like at this point, ghost Face from
- 12:37Speaker 3: Scream is considered.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Like a classic. Oh well, for surey monster.
- 12:43Speaker 3: What I loved about ghost Faces because you know the
- 12:47Speaker 3: series of the Scream movies, ghost Face ends up being
- 12:49Speaker 3: you know, various different killers throughout the series. But that voice,
- 12:54Speaker 3: that's a there's a separate guy who specifically does the
- 12:58Speaker 3: voice of ghost Face whenever he's on the phone, saying
- 13:00Speaker 3: like you wanna what's your favorite scary movie?
- 13:04Speaker 2: That whole thing? Yeah, can you give us your best
- 13:06Speaker 2: ghost Face?
- 13:06Speaker 3: No? I cannot. I don't do it justice. But I
- 13:09Speaker 3: think that guy sounds hot. You're so good at that. Like,
- 13:12Speaker 3: that's why I like ghost Face because I think he
- 13:15Speaker 3: sounds really sexy, Like I would have tried to seduce
- 13:18Speaker 3: ghost Face.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I think.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Okay, so it wasn't it's it's not ghost Face because
- 13:23Speaker 1: of the sheer terror or.
- 13:24Speaker 3: No, it's because I think he sounds like really cute.
- 13:28Speaker 3: If he was on Love is Blind, I would fall
- 13:31Speaker 3: in love with him in the Pods based on his
- 13:34Speaker 3: voice alone.
- 13:34Speaker 1: You know, when you're with your bestie and she's on
- 13:38Speaker 1: the phone talking to a boy she likes, you know,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and they hang up and you ask like, oh, does
- 13:42Speaker 1: he sound hot? Yeah, that's ghost Face, Yes he does. Okay,
- 13:47Speaker 1: all right, what about you, Brent? What's your favorite movie?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Monster?
- 13:51Speaker 3: I gotta I know he's deadly and dangerous, but he's
- 13:57Speaker 3: also super misunderstood.
- 13:59Speaker 2: That's right, not like that, That's right.
- 14:02Speaker 1: That's what a lot of us dudes say every single
- 14:04Speaker 1: day when we wake up and schlep ourselves off to work.
- 14:07Speaker 2: You know, it's not my fault. I'm like this. I
- 14:11Speaker 2: was just made like this.
- 14:12Speaker 3: You know Frankenstein is about to join the Hotness Club
- 14:16Speaker 3: because Jacob Alordi is playing Franken.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Oh all right, Jennifer, what about you? The creature from Cheepers.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Creepers genuinely freak me out.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I've never seen another scary movie like that, and just
- 14:29Speaker 3: the whole storyline is bizarre, the way he slides around
- 14:33Speaker 3: in each people yit. That movie gave me nightmare. I
- 14:37Speaker 3: never finished Jeeper's Creepers because it was so creepy.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all right. See, you picked a character because
- 14:45Speaker 1: they sound hot. I picked Freddy because we had matching sweatshirts.
- 14:49Speaker 1: If I had to go with a movie monster that
- 14:52Speaker 1: genuinely actually terrified me, yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 2: You know who it is, Angie. I gotta go with
- 14:58Speaker 2: the trunch bull from Tell Them.
- 15:00Speaker 1: That Lady to this day scares me. A teenage cancer
- 15:10Speaker 1: survivor here in the Midwest. He's not from North Dakota,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but he is a Midwest kid is using his homemade
- 15:16Speaker 1: haunted house to raise money for children with cancer this
- 15:20Speaker 1: spooky season. This thirteen year old named Jackson is bringing
- 15:25Speaker 1: back his haunted house, which started back in twenty nineteen
- 15:28Speaker 1: with some help from his dad Tom. The display, set
- 15:31Speaker 1: in the front yard, takes about a month to build,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and it has become both a local attraction and a
- 15:36Speaker 1: charity event. Jackson is a leukemia survivor who was treated
- 15:42Speaker 1: and has been cancer free since twenty twenty two. For
- 15:45Speaker 1: the last three years, he's used his popular Haunted House
- 15:48Speaker 1: to raise thousands of dollars to purchase special chemo shirts
- 15:52Speaker 1: for kids receiving care at hospitals where he lives. The
- 15:55Speaker 1: shirts unzip for easy access to medical ports, allowing young
- 16:00Speaker 1: patients to stay more comfortable during chemotherapy, and Jackson says
- 16:04Speaker 1: the shirts are more comfortable than having to.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Fully remove clothing during treatment.
- 16:10Speaker 1: This year's Haunted House is larger it includes new features
- 16:14Speaker 1: like a custom creature courtesy from Make a Wish. He
- 16:17Speaker 1: continues to get help from them as they support the
- 16:20Speaker 1: same mission. In the past years, visitors they've traveled from
- 16:24Speaker 1: all across the Midwest, all across the region to enjoy
- 16:27Speaker 1: the haunt and donate to a good cause. The attraction
- 16:30Speaker 1: is open through Halloween, with proceeds going to fund more
- 16:33Speaker 1: chemo shirts for kids.
- 16:35Speaker 2: This thirteen year All Incrediblelood I have wonderful story.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, wonderful story from Jackson and a very fitting for
- 16:41Speaker 1: spooky season. And don't forget there is a haunted farm
- 16:45Speaker 1: somewhat like this in our area from a gentleman we
- 16:48Speaker 1: personally know, and that money also is donating goes to proceeds.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Yeah, the crypt at Jacob's Manner also a charitable haunt,
- 16:57Speaker 3: So go and check that out out in Leonard.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Old is full of nice people. If you can't find one,
- 17:02Speaker 1: you gotta be one.
