- riverside amanda kitzi sfc podcast #35 cloversy: Hey there, it's Mel C, and this is the Six Figure Chicks Podcast. Quick, powerful conversations with women making six figures and beyond. It's a real talk, big wins, and no fluff. Just 15 minutes to get inspired and get you on the go. Together we rise, together we change lives. Hey there, welcome back to another fantastic episode of Six Figure Chicks. I am delighted to be joined by fellow Six Figure Chick author from Tucson. Amanda, welcome. Hi, hi Mel. Hi, everyone. Yeah. So why don't you share a little bit about you, your awesomeness, what you do? So my name is Amanda. I am here in Tucson. I am a real estate agent, a mom, a dog mom, or a Fur mom, I should say. And I also work full time as a staff accountant here at one of our local dealerships. You do a lot. I mean, just being a mom. Plus, mom work too. Yeah. Yes, yes. Mom and wife. I probably should add in I'm a wife as well. Yeah, life is chaos, but I thrive in it. That's amazing. And that's what we do, right? Is we just take whatever life throws at us and or what we have going on in life and we make it work. Absolutely. We learn to navigate not just as a mom or a wife, but also in a new industry. I was in or I'm in the the dealership industry right now. I've been doing that for almost a decade. and so it's I've been now in real estate for just under a year. So trying to navigate, hopefully eventually leaving the the industry and moving full time into real estate. But it's a lot, you know, to to kind of juggle two jobs on top of a life of being a mom and a wife and and all the things. Yes, yes. And now soon to be a best selling published author. Yes. I you know, that's something I never I never thought I would see for myself is, you know, being a an author in a book, especially something as big as Six Figure Chicks. So, you know, it was a little dream of mine that I had with my friend Andrea. And now it's coming to life as, you know, a real thing. And I'm I'm so stoked to kind of see what that looks like going forward. Yes, me too. All right. So we'll touch base on that in just a little bit, but let's share something that not a lot of people know about you. It's so funny because obviously I've listened to your podcast, Mel, and I've been thinking about what is a fun fact about me. And so it came down to after actually asking one of my sisters, I was like, couldn't figure out what I thought was a fun fact. And I was like, it's I'm weird about my office supplies. I only like little textured paper clips, right? Only like black ink. But I'm like, that's not fun. So my sister had to tell me. She was like, Amanda, you're double jointed in your thumb. And I'm like, that's such a gross fact. She goes, but it's fun because not a lot of people know it and not a lot of people do it. So she's like, use it as your as your talent. And I'm like, it's like a party trick that nobody wants to see. So if you want to see it, Mel, I'll show it to Yes, I do. Like, let's show. It's literally only in my thumb. And I haven't done it in so long that sometimes it hurts to do. Can you see that? Okay, yeah. I don't want you to hurt so no, it's fine. It's just I'm out of practice. That's all. As a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing. And then you get older and you're like, ooh, nobody wants to see that. What are some challenges that you face, like in your current business and then while trying to build your other business? Probably the biggest challenge right now is time. Because with real estate, you know, it takes a lot of time, effort. You know, you've gotta have a lot of availability, especially as you're building clients. With me being a new agent, I don't have a lot of clientele right now. I have one main little couple and, you know, they keep me, they keep me busy. but it it's time, you know, trying to juggle obviously my nine to five and then real estate on top of it, on top of being a, you know, a parent, I'm not I'm not home a lot, you know, because I'm trying to build this empire in real estate while still having to do a normal mundane nine to five that pays the bills until real estate really starts kicking in. So it's really, I think time is my big t challenge. And then being new in the industry, not a lot of people know you or really know that they want to trust a new agent to put, that big purchase in their hand. So it's having to build that trust with people and and show the confidence that I have and, that I'm as I'm learning and growing and and working with the best, I have a mentor who, helps me through all of this and she is and I'm growing every day. And she's a lot. Yeah. What has helped push you through that? And you answered it with the mentorship. Like it's so important from you know your young adult life to even now when you're going down a new pathway. Tell us about that. Like how pivotal that has been with your success. You know, I came from the working class family. both parents worked, it was paycheck to paycheck, Sometimes it was just my dad working and my mom home raising us. So, you know, it was a lot of financial strain on them. So we struggled growing up, you know, and and as a kid, you know, you have all these big dreams and you have all these things and you know, you just never know. My I mean I'd have super s I have a huge support system now and even back then, you know, my parents were super supportive in everything that we kind of wanted to do. But it was kind of, you know the moments in time where you're like, you didn't come from a family with money. So you didn't come from these different things. So it's like it's a you have to work a lot harder. So I think coming from kind of nothing has given me that drive and that motivation and that grind to really push to succeed in in in all the things that I want in life. And so I think that's what I kind of had to do is put my fear and the doubt and the unsureness behind me and just honestly jump headfirst into it and and just go with it. Yeah. So I would say, what would be one tip that you would tell somebody else facing these similar roadblocks? Just do it. Sky's the limit and fear is gonna hold you back. And but fear, you know, it's just a thought in our mind. It's not something we can't surpass. So I think just like doing it and what's the worst that can happen? I mean, yeah, you might fail sometimes, but sometimes we have to fail to succeed. So I think just pushing through and just Taking the risk, it's gonna pay off in the end. Yeah. Is that something you would told your younger self, or is there something different that you would tell Minnie Me? As a kid, I used to want to be a celebrity. I wanted to be a real reality star. I wanted to be, you know, famous, all the things when you're younger, you know. And I think my s insecurities as a kid, I grew up as like kind of like a an overweight kid, you know, where I went from really small and kind of gained weight. It was weight issues held me back a lot. And but I think also just my fear in the unknown and always scared of what people thought or failing, I think put a pivot like a roadblock in that way. So I think if I was to look at my younger self, I would tell her to just do it. What's the worst that can happen? Don't worry about what anybody else thinks. Love yourself, know your worth, and just push through and and make it happen. If you want it to happen, do it. Yeah, most definitely. And it kind of reminds me of the time that you and I started talking, you know, from Andrea Merrill, thanks for another six figure chicks author connection. But I kind of get the feeling like when we first started talking, you didn't have as much confidence as you do right now when I'm talking to you now. Of like you were kind of like, Mel, me? I don't know. Exactly. So what was it? Mel, that conversation with you was the turning point, honestly. I think, Andrea is she is one of my biggest supporters, and she's so busy, so I don't hear from her a lot these days, but she had to she gives me the hard talks sometimes that I need, because as a kid I struggled with confidence. My mom was an amazing person, but my mom struggled with confidence. she tried to build the most confidence she could in her children and her especially her daughters, but she didn't have that same confidence. So growing up with somebody who wasn't confident. And then trying to push you to be confident was it was confusing. But I think lately I have been really working on myself. And I think I've been, I was always so down on myself because it just was who I was. But then having that conversation with you, Mel, was such a change. You gave me something, like a spark that I didn't have before. And I think, also I I love your podcast. I love everything that like Six Figure Chicks is. I'm a fangirl right now. I'm fangirling at the moment. But I think it was a boost of confidence that I honestly needed. I needed to know that it doesn't matter what my bank account looks like or what my income looks like right now. I'm building this empire. we don't all just start with six figures in our bank account. We have to start low and then work our way up. And as our success grows, all that stuff grows. And I think I've always been so worried about the outside or, know, the the messy middle or the things that is embarrassing to me that I've always wore that. And I think lately I've just been trying to see myself in a in a better light. Trying to see myself for for what I deserve and what I want. And built trying to slowly build that confidence. But I will definitely say that that call with you that day was definitely a turning point in it. And I feel like I just that support that I have from just everybody, you, Andrea, just a everybody in in my circle and and even friends just I think it's something I've always needed that I never really felt that I had. And so I think now I wake up every day with I can do this. I've been looking so forward to this podcast and it and it's helped me. I've been literally it's been such a thought in my mind because it's so important to me that I've had to push through the insecurities and I'm still working every day. But I think knowing that you saw something in me, because you didn't know me. You reached out to me one morning, a DM on Facebook and I thought it was fake. And I was so skeptical at first until I, got on that call with you and I realized that this is all real life. And you saw something in me that I didn't see in me or never saw for myself. So I think that that was a huge, a huge pivotal moment in my life that helped spark that light bulb and hey, you can do this. You can be an author. You never saw yourself as it, but here you are. You're gonna do these things. You're gonna it, you're gonna grow, you're gonna, surpass the future you saw for yourself. And I think that that was just a huge I would definitely say that was a huge turning point for me. I love that. Like you're filling my heart and it's amazing because this is the exact visibility legacy that, you know, our authors get to use from being in the book and you haven't even written your story yet. And this is going to be a huge turning point for you and your visibility going into the future and going into this new profession. I do ask our guests to give us something to stand out from the crowd, but you just gave it. this is like your key to having those great conversations that you probably would not have had in the past because you didn't believe you could. Yeah. I think it was definitely a self-worth issue that I struggled my whole life. And not because I didn't have people in my corner giving me that, but I just didn't see it for myself. I think I I wore just such a a cloak of like disappointment in myself, or like because my upbring bringing was rough, or you know, we didn't come from much. We lived in trailers a lot, you know, as kids. And, you know, I think I wore that as like a a shield of like, you know, what's the word? I'm so sorry, what's the word I'm looking for? But just like I look down on myself even though I didn't need to. I could walk around looking cl dressed to the nines, but I still saw myself in Walmart clothes or the goodwill, you know, and it's so even now like there's times that I struggle. And so I'm but I'm learning every day and I'm seeing everything come to light. I'm seeing, you know, my career sl it's slow, you know, real estate is slow, especially when you're new. You know, so but I'm seeing everything come to light, you know, I have so much support. Not just for my brokerage, but friends in the brokerage, new a other agents that I'm meeting, family, friends, coworkers, even at my job, not everybody, but you know, I have so much support and I'm meeting so many new people. And, you know, finding more people on social media and and you meeting you was like a huge thing for me. You know, and it's so funny because you know, I met Mar my friend Marty. I met her just as a client at her med spa. I just went in one day for a a dis like a little free or not free, but like a little sale she was having on her body contouring. That's how I met her. Meeting her got me in the door of e-women's. Getting me, e-women's brought me to Andrea. Andrea brought me to you and six figure chicks. So I feel like God has put this in my place and maybe this is where I'm supposed to be. So as I'm building this real estate empire and trying to move out of this nine to five, I'm also building a new empire of becoming an author, a podcast, guest. Just building this other life, not like it's a I feel like I live a double life as it is, but it's like it's a new, it's a new spark. It's a new adventure, it's a new journey. And it's everything that like I never saw for myself that's now coming to light that is becoming so much more exciting and giving me a new life. It's giving me a new breath of fresh air. It's things that I've never seen for myself that's helping to build my confidence every day. And I just I'm love, I love every minute of it. Yay. I love this for you because this is the life you deserve and you're finally owning it. Yeah. You're drinking the juice. I I am. And it's it's so surreal still, you know. Like even meeting you that first day over Zoom was like so surreal because I remember telling you I was right gonna cancel it because I was so scared of disappointing you. And having I remember having a conversation with Andrea like the day before, I think it was a day or so before. And I was like, I'm canceling this this interview. I can't, I don't think I can do this. Mel's gonna laugh at me. I'm gonna waste her time. And she had to put me in place and be like, where do you get to make that decision for her? Why do you think that you don't deserve this? sh and of course she's spent time with you, she knows you, and she's like, You need to give Mel that chance, and I love her for that because I needed that, that, that hard moment. I needed that. You don't get to make this decision. You don't get to see yourself in this light. You don't get to see say that you're not worthy of this because of your bank account or your status in real estate right now or what your bills look like. She's like, you get to give Mel that chance. She reached out to you for a reason. She didn't know you. She saw something in you just based off of your little social media and picked you. So give her that chance. So of course, I, you know, put all my feelings aside and I was like, you're absolutely right. And it was probably the best decision that I made. As much as my anxiety was trying to talk me out of it, my, doubt of like the younger, not confident insecure me was like, No, you can't do this, I did it. And I am so thankful and grateful and so glad that I I did. And I'm so glad that I had her I have her in my corner to sometimes give me the push that I needed to do it because here we are today. And I am so grateful. Me too. I'm so grateful you chose you. And you know, sometimes we just need that little nudge. And I'm so glad you didn't cancel too. No. I mean, if you did, we wouldn't be here. Exactly. And you know, I'm starting to kind of choose me more because I've always felt, especially as a mom, as a wife, I'm already gone a lot, you know, and and sometimes I feel selfish for choosing me. But then I've gotten to a kind of a point where part of this this is to show my kids because I have a son with autism and he's, you know, we're struggling through some stuff. And I actually also have a two and a half year old with a rare genetic seizure disorder that not a lot of people actually know about. I don't talk about it a lot in pretty private, but I want to show them that sky's the limit. You know, we can do hard things. We can do whatever we put our minds to. And sometimes we have to choose ourselves. So I'm starting to choose me now, you know, in some aspects. And I think it's, you know, sometimes I feel like I'm not being fair. Sometimes I feel like I'm being selfish. But I also feel like I deserve this too. You know, I've worked my whole life. And since I was literally sixteen years old. And so I think finally now at the ripe age of thirty-five, you know, that it's time to choose me and it's time to also put myself first at times to to give not just me but my family everything I didn't have growing up. Mm. I know. I love that. And that's definitely close to how you were raised. We grew up in a lifestyle that we do not want to go back to. And so choosing you And all of that goodness, what is that one song that gets you pumped up? when you're alone in the car and there's no family. So this car this song, it's actually an AI artist that I found on Instagram. it's her name is S Samira Samira Nava Navi. Sorry, I'm messing that up. but it's called Pretty with a Purpose. And it is my new, it's my go-to hype song. It's the one I listen to in the gym when I get there. I listen to it in the car. I'm just gonna read a little snippet of it if it's okay. In the first verse it says, Pretty with a plan, I move in just to show every step got attention, every seed about to grow, got a gloss on my lips and a grind in my chest. I'm a whole elevation with glow and finesse. So, you know, then the the chorus is pretty with a purpose, divine in my stride. how watch how I move, I'm not missing a step, head up, chin high, I walk with a threat. And so I think that is just it gets me pumped. I might have messed up the lyrics a little bit, but it gets me pumped. It gets me hyped. And it literally gives me more confidence, even when I'm just driving in the car. And I just that song, it has like it just popped up one day when I was putting a story up. And it's been like my go-to hype song. I want everybody to listen to it. It is great. Maybe an AI artist, but they're coming out with a lot of really fun stuff. And it and it's super like pumpy beats. And and I just I love it. I live by it. I am pretty with a purpose. Yes. And you are pretty with a purpose. How is how are people gonna find you online? What's the best way to find you? I am super active on social media. So Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn a little bit, but I would say Facebook and Instagram. My personal one is just underscore Mrs. Kitsy, and then I also have a business Instagram, which is Amanda Kitsy Sells A Z. And then Facebook, you can search. Amanda Kitsy and I'll come up. I even have a little business page. Amanda Kitsy sells A Z. So those two are probably the biggest places to find me. I don't really use TikTok or anything like that, but I'm a little bit on LinkedIn and then those two main sites. Wonderful. Yay. All right. We will definitely share everything in the show notes. until next time, because I think probably next time we'll be hearing from you will be the start of Six Figure Chicks Tucson. Yeah, wait. We are reaching out to all the women. All the successful women in Tucson. Let's come together. Let's be in the book with Amanda, myself. We have some other amazing women. Gabby will be in Tucson Book. Let's join forces and share our stories, our messy middles, like Amanda said. Let's do it. Yes, our messy middles. Tucson ladies, this is a great opportunity. Let's let's all jump in there and and and make it happen. Yes, I know. Let's show everyone around the world how Badass Tucson is. Thank you so much for having me, Mel. It was such a pleasure and such an honor. Yes. Together we rise, together we change lives. Until next time.
