• 1:41
Speaker 2: No, it was about 25.
• 1:42
  Speaker 2: 25.
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Oh man, what is that, God love?
• 1:46
Speaker 3: you brother, and you didn't bring all of us one of those.
• 1:48
Speaker 3: What do you call that?
• 1:50
  Speaker 2: You know what?
• 1:51
  Speaker 2: So, Scott Gordon.
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Hold that up to that camera right there.
• 1:55
Speaker 3: No, this one, this one here.
• 1:56
  Speaker 3: There you go.
• 1:56
  Speaker 3: Y'all see that.
• 1:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, with Cole's helping hand.
• 1:58
Speaker 2: This is my favorite thing that he does.
• 2:00
Speaker 1: Well, what is this?
• 2:01
Speaker 2: It's mashed potatoes with chipped beef, and I'm telling you what this is like cracking up.
• 2:07
Speaker 1: You know what I thought that was.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: I thought oh my gosh, what a great-looking malter milkshake that is.
• 2:13
  Speaker 2: Chocolate on it.
• 2:14
Speaker 2: We were in a committee meeting last year and I said Don't go away.
• 2:18
Speaker 3: I said man, I don't care what we do?
• 2:20
Speaker 2: I said I just want my mashed potato bowl and I said I want it to where it's in, like a sand bucket pail, like we were kids with a shovel.
• 2:28
  Speaker 3: Yes.
• 2:28
Speaker 2: And that's exactly what he did.
• 2:29
Speaker 1: I mean it was a big old pail and I had to eat it, but it was great.
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: It was great.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: So I have to ask you, pardon me, I have to ask you Are those fresh potatoes?
• 2:38
Speaker 1: They're instant potatoes, made with love.
• 2:42
Speaker 1: Made with love, all right.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: And that's his name Johnny Love.
• 2:45
Speaker 3: All right, we're going to have to get in line.
• 2:47
Speaker 3: I tell you what.
• 2:48
Speaker 2: I sit down and all this stuff just starts appearing.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: This is pretty good, you know why?
• 2:51
Speaker 1: Because you're on the In Wheel Time Car Talk.
• 2:53
  Speaker 3: Show.
• 2:54
  Speaker 3: It's the magic.
• 2:55
Speaker 3: What's the name of your business?
• 2:56
Speaker 3: It's Cole Gordon Helping Hands.
• 2:59
Speaker 3: Tell us, tell us.
• 3:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's Coal Helping Hands.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: They're the food truck right over there and they've been doing this event for the last several years, and actually Scott Gordon is probably the best one I could, you know, have him talk to you guys.
• 3:16
Speaker 1: Well, I think that we need to have a few vendors on this show before the end of the day.
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: Look at that.
• 3:20
Speaker 1: What do we have here?
• 3:21
Speaker 3: Oh my, there you go.
• 3:21
Speaker 3: Oh, what do we have here?
• 3:24
Speaker 3: Oh my, there you go.
• 3:25
Speaker 3: Oh, this is the crust pizza lady.
• 3:26
Speaker 3: The crust pizza lady, yay.
• 3:27
Speaker 1: I mean you know this is kind of like the state fair that you've got going here.
• 3:30
Speaker 3: Is there a filet mignon booth around here maybe?
• 3:33
Speaker 3: Well, you know, what's funny is.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: I told that young lady when she was coming in.
• 3:37
Speaker 2: I said we were on.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: You know, thank God, we were on Fox 26 News yesterday promoting the event guy.
• 3:44
Speaker 2: We were on Fox 26 News, michael, yesterday promoting the event man, and I don't know why, but the first person that, oh wow, yeah the first name that came out of my head was crust pizza.
• 3:51
  Speaker 2: Uh, why?
• 3:52
Speaker 2: I have no idea.
• 3:53
Speaker 2: Are they down here?
• 3:53
Speaker 2: They're in League City and apparently one of our members just won't, wouldn't hush up about it well, there's one in Sugar Land.
• 4:00
Speaker 2: I actually met the owner about two months ago, okay oh really, I've never eaten, eaten there, but apparently I'm about to.
• 4:06
  Speaker 3: Yes, we are.
• 4:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to get loaded up here, I'm going to have to hit that treadmill.
• 4:09
Speaker 1: Well, here You've got plenty to wash it down with.
• 4:12
Speaker 1: It's all good, thank you.
• 4:13
Speaker 3: Thank you, we've all got one, I'm going to have one.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: State Fair is what this is kind of turning into here, with all of the you know fried Twinkies and you know stuff in a bucket and shakes, and I'm in.
• 4:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, good, I'm glad you guys finally made it, you especially, because you know I always felt like Charlie Brown in the pumpkin patch waiting for the great white pumpkin that never came.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: Well, here he is, here you are.
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: You made it.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: I don't know if I'd say great, but I will tell you this I spent two hours cleaning that thing up yesterday, just to come down here.
• 4:48
Speaker 2: Wow, bless your heart, I know.
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: It looks good.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: Thank you, I've got some.
• 4:52
Speaker 2: If you need some more practice, just let me know.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: I'll give you my address.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: I've been offered that a lot.
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: Yeah, 35,000 original miles it wow, it looks great, it's a 2021 and uh, it's a six-speed manual transmission semi-stock.
• 5:06
  Speaker 1: I mean it's.
• 5:07
Speaker 1: It's got some don armstrong modifications to it, but we could put it back in in less than a day to the way it originally was right so it looks.
• 5:15
Speaker 1: I bought some new wheels for it this year.
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: You like them?
• 5:17
Speaker 1: Those are, uh, oh, let's see they look like they're c7.
• 5:22
Speaker 1: I think that those are z06 wheels, yeah they look great, or knockoffs actually.
• 5:26
  Speaker 2: I like those.
• 5:27
Speaker 2: It's got just the right touch to it.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: It has that Corvette look, doesn't it?
• 5:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not too much, it's not enough, it's just kind of like just right.
• 5:33
Speaker 2: Thank you, because you can go overboard.
• 5:34
  Speaker 2: It's a disease.
• 5:39
Speaker 1: Your wallet is depending on how big that shovel is right.
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
• 5:43
Speaker 1: Well, the set of those from New York.
• 5:45
Speaker 1: That's where I bought them from online.
• 5:47
Speaker 1: They were $1,500 for all four.
• 5:50
Speaker 2: That's good it is.
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: That's a good price.
• 5:52
Speaker 2: I felt good about it.
• 5:53
Speaker 1: And they delivered it as promised and I was pleased.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: That's good, what a turnout today.
• 5:59
Speaker 2: Yes, you know, good Lord bless us with this weather, and it's kind of like ants to a picnic when you have weather like this.
• 6:06
Speaker 1: Well, that and the fact that you've got such a diverse amount of cars and diverse style of, I mean everything here, from old hot rods that are completely redone Restomods out the wazoo, beautiful, really nice Corvettes here you got a whole bevy of mustangs right behind the in-wheel time machine.
• 6:27
Speaker 1: I mean, if you're a car guy, this is your place.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: This is bring your family and the way that it's set up underneath the trees, man, I mean it just and uh.
• 6:36
Speaker 1: The city of friendswood, let you do this yes.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: so, uh, 18 years ago the city of Friendswood did the spring car show and then I noticed they never did a fall car show.
• 6:47
Speaker 2: There was a Friendswood Friends Church.
• 6:49
Speaker 2: They had done three car shows and just as it started to gain traction they stopped doing it.
• 6:54
Speaker 2: So I'm thinking, wait a minute why?
• 6:56
Speaker 2: You know the spring show needs to do something like that in the fall.
• 6:59
Speaker 2: So at the time our club's fall car show was kind of like the redheaded stepchild.
• 7:05
Speaker 2: It just didn't really get our Corvettes and Crawfish spring car show.
• 7:08
Speaker 2: That was like the one.
• 7:09
Speaker 2: So I'm like you know what we need to do?
• 7:10
  Speaker 2: An open class.
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: I wasn't invited to that.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: Well, I have to be careful, right?
• 7:14
Speaker 2: Yes, you do now.
• 7:16
Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to come to this one first, now that you've been here first, then you're free to go yeah absolutely.
• 7:23
Speaker 2: But I said, you know we need to do an open-class car show, you know, and get all these cars.
• 7:28
  Speaker 1: Everybody yeah.
• 7:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, and the first year we did it, which was 12 years ago, we had 143 cars raised, almost 18,000 for St Jude's.
• 7:36
Speaker 2: At the time it was benefiting St Jude's, and then after that it was Texas EquiSearch.
• 7:41
Speaker 2: We've always Space City Corvette Club's always raised money for Texas EquiSearch since 2007.
• 7:47
Speaker 2: Spring was always St Jude's and that particular year I didn't know that we were going to be benefiting Texas EquiSearch, so we raised money for St Jude's.
• 7:56
Speaker 2: So it worked out great and I think the last count, I heard over there we had 275 cars and that's for us and for the city of friends with this park is another park record.
• 8:07
Speaker 2: Uh it, we broke it years ago at 203, then 223, then 253 and now we're at 275 so you've got record setting numbers on the vehicles coming in is there uh, is there a number you're trying to achieve for texas equi search?
• 8:20
  Speaker 2: well.
• 8:20
Speaker 2: So um last year we raised 100,000 for texas equi shirts.
• 8:24
Speaker 2: The year before we raised 92,000.
• 8:27
Speaker 2: For Texas Equal Shirts, the year before we raised $92,000.
• 8:31
Speaker 3: We raised $40,000 already this year from our spring car show.
• 8:33
Speaker 3: So, good Lord willing, you know, I think we'll crack the 100 mark.
• 8:35
Speaker 3: How can folks out there that are listening and watching, how can they contribute?
• 8:38
Speaker 2: So our club is matching all cash donations up to $20,000, which is huge.
• 8:42
Speaker 2: And that's the easiest way to do it, and if you go to seccinfo then you can make a cash donation and we'll match it.
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: Perfect.
• 8:52
Speaker 2: And we've also got plenty of silent auction items over there.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: Carrier donated a complete in-home HVAC system.
• 8:59
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 8:59
Speaker 2: Valued at over $10,000.
• 9:01
  Speaker 1: Yeah, whoa.
• 9:01
Speaker 2: I think we've got a little over $25,000 in silent auction items over there.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: So for your viewers and listeners, if they could come over here and open up that wallet.
• 9:11
Speaker 3: We also have 50-50 raffles.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: We are doing a discount tire raffle $1,000 gift card Wow so.
• 9:18
Speaker 1: Well, I want to go back to the car show thing here for a second.
• 9:20
Speaker 1: You know when I started showing cars, it was at the first Corvette show.
• 9:27
Speaker 1: You're going to drink that right in front of me, aren't you?
• 9:31
Speaker 1: It was at the first Corvette show and it was down at the Albert Thomas Convention Center and it was nothing but Corvettes and it was fine and we did.
• 9:41
Speaker 1: I mean it got me going.
• 9:43
Speaker 1: I really enjoyed all of that.
• 9:44
Speaker 1: And as the years have progressed, this was back.
• 9:47
Speaker 1: We did, I mean it got me going.
• 9:48
Speaker 1: I really enjoyed all of that.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: And as the years have progressed this was back in 1980, I think as the years have progressed, car shows have evolved and to go to a model-specific show that would be a gathering of a club on a Saturday night with your friends in the club today.
• 10:07
Speaker 1: Back then we had only one club and that was the San Jacinto Corvette Club.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: Back then I joined the club and they welcomed me in and it got the passion going.
• 10:17
Speaker 1: It was a lot of fun for a lot of people.
• 10:20
Speaker 1: We truly were blessed in the fact that I had lots of friends to help me with the car and I spent a butt full of money on that car.
• 10:32
Speaker 1: When I was done it was.
• 10:34
Speaker 1: I paid sticker for it 1976.
• 10:36
  Speaker 1: It was a 77 model.
• 10:38
Speaker 1: I paid eleven thousand dollars for it when I got rid of it in 1982, I think I had $35,000 into it, including the original price of course.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: But you know, back then there's a ton of money.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: All of my money went into the car and we all know as car guys how easily that can happen.
• 10:56
Speaker 1: And today there's every kind of car.
• 11:00
Speaker 1: There are factory stock cars here Daryl's got a brand-new C8 over here but there are some really factory.
• 11:08
Speaker 1: I saw a 63 split-window coupe that looked all original, sounded original, original tires, hubcaps not fire wheels none of that.
• 11:21
Speaker 1: It's in here somewhere.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: They parked it and ran by us.
• 11:25
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 11:25
Speaker 1: That's one of those.
• 11:25
Speaker 1: So what I'm saying and what I'm getting to is there's every kind of car here and it's such a nice setting with the great big walkways.
• 11:34
Speaker 1: I see lots of kids in strollers here.
• 11:36
Speaker 1: I mean it's a great event and I was so impressed last year.
• 11:40
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, I called Mars and I said press last year.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: Matter of fact, I called mars and I said mars, I think we need to really consider coming down here, yeah, yeah, I mean I'm glad y'all, yeah, and, and I'll say this, and this is not.
• 11:52
Speaker 1: This is not a put down of any of the other car shows.
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: Not at all.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: No, uh, everybody's got woody's got the waterfront car show right that is unique to itself and I don't know of any other one like that, but this one is so unique and so nice under the trees here.
• 12:06
Speaker 1: The only thing that I can kind of relate to is a car show that we go up to in Granbury Granbury, texas, yeah, and that's obviously just south of Fort Worth and it too is in a park and it's similar, but it's not this, right, yeah, but this is a beautiful setting.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: And I told them.
• 12:26
Speaker 1: I said look, I'm leaving the house at 6.
• 12:29
Speaker 1: I know how these things work.
• 12:30
Speaker 1: There's probably going to be a line of cars down the street.
• 12:33
Speaker 1: Uh-uh, the line of cars was only in the driveway to get into here.
• 12:38
Speaker 2: The way that you've got it set up with your volunteers I guess with Space City Corvette Club man got it together David Garza, our vice president, what a rock star.
• 12:49
Speaker 2: I mean the parking crew, and then right now, we've got over 25 judges out here judging all these beautiful cars.
• 12:55
Speaker 1: You going to judge mine?
• 12:57
Speaker 2: I tried not to judge you.
• 13:01
Speaker 3: Good, good, good, we judge them all the time, uh.
• 13:03
Speaker 2: But yeah, we, we couldn't do all this without the volunteers, right and and uh, they get them in this park quick.
• 13:09
Speaker 3: You know, in about 45 minutes the meat of it is yes, like y'all saw, I noticed well, kudos to kudos to the city, because the way the park's laid out it's perfect, because you've got a lot, a wide path or a walkway which the cars are using, and then you've got a jogging trails, you got walking trails, you got things for the kids to do and it goes back there about 10 miles, doesn't it something like that?
• 13:27
Speaker 2: yeah, and I see, I was going to put you guys down there at the pavilion.
• 13:30
Speaker 2: That's why I was going to put you.
• 13:31
Speaker 2: When mike came out here I guess it was a few days ago, right, he was, you know, giving like a law of the land, and he was asking if he could pull cars up.
• 13:38
Speaker 1: I'm like because right, we're not in pavilion spots it's just not gonna work.
• 13:42
Speaker 2: I mean, even right here he was like can we pull a car up?
• 13:45
Speaker 2: I'm like I said, but I'll put you right here, and I said you're gonna see everything go by you.
• 13:49
Speaker 2: It's like the parade going by right, which I think worked out good.
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah right, mike.
• 13:52
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, okay once we, once we get our uh, our new $100,000 camera, like they have at the television stations where we can use the cell phones and we can broadcast that signal back across the world.
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: That's coming.
• 14:09
Speaker 1: Mars is going to flip the bill on that, and then we'll be able to go anywhere in the park.
• 14:13
Speaker 1: We need two cameras, mike, and we'll be able to see the car in the back of the park run it through all of this.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: David's going to get it on the air and we'll be sweet.
• 14:21
Speaker 2: Well, I'm just trying to figure out.
• 14:22
Speaker 2: How do I get on your Christmas list if he's taking care of that bill?
• 14:26
Speaker 1: Listen, he worked for the phone company a long time and we know all too well about the phone company.
• 14:31
Speaker 1: They're ripping all of us off still to this day.
• 14:34
Speaker 3: And it's worse now.
• 14:36
Speaker 2: It's worse now and he gets residuals.
• 14:38
Speaker 2: I said you've got to pay for his retirement?
• 14:39
Speaker 2: I'm sure no, we were still paying for that and always will.
• 14:42
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, to the end of time.
• 14:43
Speaker 1: It's a beautiful show, so anything that you want to tell everybody.
• 14:50
Speaker 2: Thank everybody for coming out first off, and then you know what a great organization to raise money for Texas Equus Search.
• 14:57
Speaker 2: I don't think you can find anything better.
• 14:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, Now they got a booth here, don't they not?
• 15:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, they sure do.
• 15:01
Speaker 2: And as a matter of fact, I think Tammy Phillips is going to come up here and she's going to speak on Mr Miller's behalf.
• 15:06
Speaker 1: Cool, that's his daughter.
• 15:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, she just works for Mr Miller.
• 15:10
Speaker 1: Tammy Miller is her name Tammy.
• 15:13
  Speaker 2: Phillips, she's a sweetheart.
• 15:15
Speaker 2: I love her to death.
• 15:16
Speaker 2: Very good All right?
• 15:17
Speaker 1: Well, we look forward to that and thank you, AJ.
• 15:20
  Speaker 3: Loop.
• 15:20
  Speaker 2: Thank you guys.
• 15:21
  Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
• 15:21
  Speaker 2: It's a real pleasure.
