- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Turn Glory podcast. It's Halloween Eve and Oscars host
- 0:26Speaker 1: U C. L A on Saturday back. You have a
- 0:30Speaker 1: nice Halloween costume?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Ready? No?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Do you have one?
- 0:35Speaker 1: Not?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you aren't even worried anything? What do you think you?
- 0:42Speaker 2: I thought, I'm nice? Long? Yeah?
- 0:47Speaker 4: What what are you wearing for Halloween tomorrow?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Do you only say what I said last night?
- 0:53Speaker 1: You say what you want? I'll be a lion, gonna
- 1:00Speaker 1: be a lion?
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yep, I won't. I won't say that I said last
- 1:06Speaker 2: The whole world doesn't need to hear I said.
- 1:07Speaker 4: So the first thing that popped in your head was
- 1:09Speaker 4: you're gonna be a lion?
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So I've been listening to Matt Rule talk.
- 1:14Speaker 1: You know, be a lion, part of a lion? Are
- 1:18Speaker 1: you guys? Big candy giver outers on Halloween?
- 1:23Speaker 4: Now that we're.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Adults, I try to be the last two years, but
- 1:29Speaker 3: candy zero trigger treaders. So moved new house, new location.
- 1:36Speaker 3: I hear the neighborhoods popping. So I bought one hundred
- 1:40Speaker 3: and sixty fruit snacks. So we only get one kid
- 1:43Speaker 3: that shows up. They're going to have a real good night.
- 1:47Speaker 2: That's a dang good candy hanging their hand out.
- 1:50Speaker 4: I think, so, how you getting out?
- 1:52Speaker 2: I hope I have trick or treats in my place.
- 1:55Speaker 2: It's my first year by myself. We'll see what happens.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I'm hoping you're in apartment complex.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, well, and you're probably gonna give out one of
- 2:06Speaker 1: your like fifteen bags of stale chips that you have.
- 2:09Speaker 4: In your covers.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I do need to go get candy. We'll see
- 2:15Speaker 2: if there's an't left tomorrow back to work. If not,
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'm going to find something to hand out.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Just take it out of your big white van park
- 2:21Speaker 4: in front of your place.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I actually will hand out single chips if I have to.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Well, this is what we talk about when Nebraska has
- 2:33Speaker 1: a chance to go bowling on Saturday to get their
- 2:38Speaker 1: sixth to win of the year. I don't think anybody
- 2:40Speaker 1: thought it was coming last week, and we got very
- 2:43Speaker 1: very close to beating Ohio State, but we didn't. And
- 2:48Speaker 1: so now I would say our best chance, based off
- 2:51Speaker 1: of metrics and win probabilities, is this upcoming week. But
- 2:56Speaker 1: that's not to say we can't win the last three.
- 2:59Speaker 1: But our best chance definitely is this week at home
- 3:01Speaker 1: against the Bruins, new to the Big Ten, new head coach.
- 3:05Speaker 1: They are slowly playing better throughout the year. I would
- 3:10Speaker 1: say that's the general consensus, but they are still two
- 3:12Speaker 1: and five on the year and it's supposed to be
- 3:18Speaker 1: a little bit rainy on Saturday with Austin. Who does
- 3:23Speaker 1: that benefit do you think? I actually don't have an
- 3:26Speaker 1: opinion on it.
- 3:27Speaker 3: If it does, I would probably say it benefits us
- 3:29Speaker 3: because it forces them to run and we stop the run.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I mean, their head coach used to be the offensive
- 3:36Speaker 3: or it used to be the running backs coach when
- 3:39Speaker 3: Chip Kelly was there. So in theory, you'd think they
- 3:41Speaker 3: have a decent running game. But I mean that's what
- 3:44Speaker 3: we stopped, Ohio stage run game. I mean, that's kind
- 3:48Speaker 3: of what we've been doing all year except against Indiana.
- 3:51Speaker 3: So you kind of want to put them a situation
- 3:53Speaker 3: where they have to run and we can lean into
- 3:56Speaker 3: our strength.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I think I think it probably benefits them a little
- 4:07Speaker 2: more because they have to run the ball. Their quarterbacks
- 4:09Speaker 2: offul We'll get in them later, but I think benefits
- 4:14Speaker 2: them more because they have to run the ball. And yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 2: well I don't know, I don't I don't know, but
- 4:23Speaker 2: I really don't. It's supposedly wendy too, right.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I don't know if it's supposed to be windy like
- 4:30Speaker 1: it was yesterday here and then today we got all
- 4:33Speaker 1: the rain that we haven't gotten in like the last
- 4:37Speaker 1: two months here in Nebraska. But the conditions are gonna
- 4:42Speaker 1: have an effect on the football games somehow, So I
- 4:48Speaker 1: just not have that be the reason that we are
- 4:52Speaker 1: not going bowling. Here's the thing, this game needs to
- 4:58Speaker 1: be our national championship, because once you get this stupid.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Bowl eligibility off our shoulders.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Of the room, I think we take a big, deep,
- 5:13Speaker 1: fresh breadth of air and we can move on with
- 5:18Speaker 1: our lives for the rest of the fall. And then
- 5:21Speaker 1: next year you don't win this game. And we talked
- 5:25Speaker 1: about it a little bit before Indiana, you just start
- 5:28Speaker 1: getting tighter and tighter and tighter, and you never know
- 5:31Speaker 1: what's going to happen, and we've seen it happen before.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So this game, let's put all the eggs. And you
- 5:38Speaker 1: should be putting all your eggs into every game, but
- 5:42Speaker 1: this is the huge one, and let's not build up
- 5:45Speaker 1: pressure because of it. Let's win the week, take it
- 5:50Speaker 1: day by day, play by play on Saturday. Win the
- 5:54Speaker 1: game fourteen to seven, ten to seven. I don't care
- 5:57Speaker 1: what we have to do. It does not have to
- 5:59Speaker 1: be pretty. Find a way to win the game, and
- 6:01Speaker 1: then we can all breathe and talk about.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's twenty fifteen. What like it's twenty fifteen. After the game,
- 6:11Speaker 2: then I'd be.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Like, it's twenty fifteen, even twenty one.
- 6:17Speaker 3: I did just see Apparently UCLA everages like sixty four
- 6:22Speaker 3: point six rushing yards per game, which is the lowest
- 6:24Speaker 3: nationally by twelve yards. So a game where they have
- 6:29Speaker 3: to run the ball might be might be good for us.
- 6:34Speaker 2: See, I was looking at the running back stats and
- 6:36Speaker 2: they were not high at all. Their offense. I don't
- 6:41Speaker 2: know what happen against Wreckers, but their offense is pretty bad.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I many wrecords? Is that bad? But they blew up
- 6:49Speaker 2: in that game. I don't know what what happened that one.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Hopefully they didn't find anything.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Well, let's do UCLA. I guess first, mix it up
- 6:58Speaker 1: a little bit this week. Normally we go through some
- 7:00Speaker 1: of the key storylines around US. Here, let's start with UCLA.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Sim for rolling, Dak mentioned how much he just loves
- 7:09Speaker 1: their quarterback Ethan Garber's he's completing sixty.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Five percent of his passes on the year.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Again, they're two and five, So if we go back
- 7:19Speaker 1: and look at their schedule here and look who they played.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Actually had a pretty tough schedule early on. Yeah, this Oregon,
- 7:26Speaker 3: Penn State, that's pretty rough for four of their five games.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So they started against Hawaii on the road, squeaked out
- 7:36Speaker 1: a win there, and then yeah, Indiana when nobody really
- 7:39Speaker 1: knew what Indiana was, kind of got.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Destroyed by them.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Played at LSU, got beat, played Oregon, got beat, played
- 7:47Speaker 1: at Penn State, got beat all by two to three scores,
- 7:51Speaker 1: lost a close went against Minnesota, and then squeaked out
- 7:54Speaker 1: a win against Rutgers. So you're right, the schedules has
- 7:57Speaker 1: not been favorable. They are two and five, get their
- 8:02Speaker 1: first conference win against Ruggers, which.
- 8:05Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm I'm thinking that maybe Rutgers has gotten worse since
- 8:12Speaker 1: we've played them, but maybe they just weren't that good
- 8:14Speaker 1: to begin with.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But yeah, they played some tough teams.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I think I saw something or heard something that UCLA
- 8:22Speaker 1: Nebraska have to like the toughest schedules in the Big
- 8:25Speaker 1: Ten from a metrics standpoint, So take that for when
- 8:30Speaker 1: it's worth. But it's a game that we're favored by
- 8:34Speaker 1: six and a half right now. I think the line
- 8:36Speaker 1: opened more than a touchdown. It squeezed down now to
- 8:39Speaker 1: right below a touchdown at six and a half.
- 8:42Speaker 4: It's this a game that has.
- 8:43Speaker 1: A win or a game total of forty one forty
- 8:47Speaker 1: one and a half, which is pretty low given our
- 8:51Speaker 1: past few games. I think that's basically where it's going
- 8:58Speaker 1: to be. In my mind, it might even be lower
- 8:59Speaker 1: than that. So okay, let's get back to Ethan Garber's DAK.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Tell me everything you love about him.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Well, here's here's the first at I saw. He has
- 9:12Speaker 2: thrown a pick six and every game besides the game
- 9:14Speaker 2: against Wreckers, which that's just terrible.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I don't that's incredible, Like it's that's I don't think
- 9:19Speaker 3: the throw an interception every game, but they have it.
- 9:21Speaker 3: You returned to the house like what bad luck?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta think something. I haven't. I've not gone
- 9:30Speaker 2: back and watched all of these garbs picks. I'll be honest,
- 9:32Speaker 2: but you got you got thinks some of them were
- 9:34Speaker 2: just unlucky for pictics. You get bad bounce and goause
- 9:37Speaker 2: the other way.
- 9:38Speaker 3: You don't have a pick six in every game with
- 9:40Speaker 3: with it just being poor play. I get the has
- 9:43Speaker 3: to bounce the wrong way.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but then so his stats are eight touchdowns and
- 9:47Speaker 2: I picked on the ear that's with him going last
- 9:49Speaker 2: game again, I don't know what the heck happen against Wreckers.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys watched it, but he
- 9:54Speaker 2: went thirty two thirty eight, three hundred something yards and
- 9:57Speaker 2: three touchdowns, no picks. So his stat's and the other
- 10:00Speaker 2: games have been just terrible.
- 10:01Speaker 3: But the other games he was playing pretty good opponents.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they have see that. That was the one thing
- 10:11Speaker 2: about UCLA two I was gonna say, I think they
- 10:14Speaker 2: are way better than what people think just from the
- 10:17Speaker 2: opponents they played. I mean, they've they've hung around with
- 10:21Speaker 2: these teams. I can't was it organ that got demolished by.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And Indiana?
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but that if I remember, they hung around the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Indiana game for for a while and then like going
- 10:35Speaker 2: for it.
- 10:36Speaker 4: It wasn't fifty six to seven.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, true, I played that game.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So UCLA's offensive yards per play right now, And okay,
- 10:47Speaker 1: from a stat perspective, you hear a lot of people
- 10:51Speaker 1: talk about this team ranks seventy fourth nationally, Like, what
- 10:54Speaker 1: does that mean? I do like that we're as a
- 10:57Speaker 1: society in college football transferring a little bit more to
- 11:02Speaker 1: yards per play because I think points and scoring all
- 11:07Speaker 1: is very possession based, which given your tempo and what
- 11:11Speaker 1: you run, it's hard to measure that across board. So
- 11:16Speaker 1: yards per play I think it's a really good set
- 11:18Speaker 1: to look at when you're talking about stats for offenses
- 11:21Speaker 1: and defenses. So they have five point two offensive yards
- 11:24Speaker 1: per play, which is one hundred and eleventh nationally, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: they're allowing five point six, which is seventy fourth nationally.
- 11:29Speaker 1: So again, stat wise, their numbers aren't great. They're turnover
- 11:32Speaker 1: margin minus seven, which is one hundred and eighteenth. We've
- 11:36Speaker 1: seen that before. And their penalty yards is seventy one
- 11:39Speaker 1: point three, which is one hundred and twentieth in a nation.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So it's not good so far from a stats perspective.
- 11:49Speaker 4: But again remember the schedule.
- 11:51Speaker 1: They're head coaches newly, not newly, he is in first
- 11:58Speaker 1: year Harde coach of Sean Foster, Chip Kelly. I just
- 12:03Speaker 1: said Ohio State and Deshaun Foster had one of the
- 12:06Speaker 1: more memorable UH big ten media day press conferences when
- 12:13Speaker 1: he introduced himselves and basically had thought that nobody knew
- 12:16Speaker 1: where U c l A was. And he's like, we're
- 12:19Speaker 1: u c l A. We're from Los Angeles. Uh, it's
- 12:25Speaker 1: kind of funny. So that's their head coach, and I
- 12:31Speaker 1: guess they're moving in the right direction.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Their offensive coordinator, Austin. I think we'll know what dak.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Do you know who it is?
- 12:39Speaker 2: No, But I do want to say before the podcast,
- 12:42Speaker 2: I was asked by the coach. I was serious about
- 12:44Speaker 2: Jim Moore. I was off by a couple of coaches
- 12:47Speaker 2: for years.
- 12:49Speaker 3: You know their offensive coordinator?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Do what? Yeh? Don't give me about ten seconds here
- 12:57Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 12:57Speaker 1: That's true, and he was very good in the NFL,
- 13:02Speaker 1: allegedly not too long ago.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Give me the team who was your guests?
- 13:08Speaker 4: Give me the team they won super bowls recently in
- 13:11Speaker 4: the NFL.
- 13:11Speaker 2: You last coached for the Commander or he didn't play
- 13:13Speaker 2: the Vikings? Oh boy, the last coach.
- 13:19Speaker 4: For the class.
- 13:20Speaker 3: He last coached on the Commanders. He wasn't the head
- 13:23Speaker 3: of a r G three.
- 13:26Speaker 2: No, I don't. I don't know really, ye huh?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Proving people wrong? You know, trying to prove that Patrick
- 13:37Speaker 3: Mahomes wasn't the reason for his success of Kansas City,
- 13:40Speaker 3: so he flamed out and Washington and then moves to
- 13:42Speaker 3: be the O C for a team that Chip Kelly
- 13:45Speaker 3: abandoned to be an offensive coordinator.
- 13:48Speaker 2: And the offense has been awful.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Until last week.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe he found something out. I did not know
- 13:58Speaker 2: if that was there Sea Hunt.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Now, if you ask me who their defensive coordinator is,
- 14:05Speaker 3: no way am I getting that one here.
- 14:06Speaker 4: It is Malow.
- 14:10Speaker 2: He was.
- 14:12Speaker 1: The first year coordinator last year and they were fifteenth
- 14:16Speaker 1: nationally in scoring and defense.
- 14:18Speaker 4: And now he's back in a second year.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So we're not going to see a whole lot of
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'll call them playmakers. I guess they have a couple
- 14:34Speaker 1: of running backs that do some things for him, but
- 14:37Speaker 1: they're not a team that wants to run the ball
- 14:40Speaker 1: very much. They do want to throw it more than anything.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I mean, their leading rushers TJ. Harden, but he's averaged
- 14:45Speaker 1: under three yard to carry their rushing offense. Like you said,
- 14:48Speaker 1: Austin is one of the worst in the country.
- 14:52Speaker 3: So until last week, until last week.
- 14:55Speaker 1: So it does bode well for how our defense has
- 14:59Speaker 1: played for the most part this year up front. I
- 15:04Speaker 1: do think the team that is able to successfully use
- 15:09Speaker 1: the play action in their tight ends Fidoni hopefully, is
- 15:14Speaker 1: going to get an edge this game. I think that's
- 15:16Speaker 1: a key because of the way the weather is gonna
- 15:19Speaker 1: be working out, and both teams are gonna be king
- 15:21Speaker 1: on the run more so than anything. Nebraska got their
- 15:25Speaker 1: run game going a little bit against Ohio State, and
- 15:29Speaker 1: UCLA strength of their defense is also stopping the run.
- 15:33Speaker 1: So it makes it for an interesting matchup because of
- 15:36Speaker 1: the weather, what both teams want to do, and what
- 15:40Speaker 1: both teams are good at on the defense defensive side
- 15:42Speaker 1: of the ball.
- 15:44Speaker 4: So that's my take.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I guess how offensively, I mean, maybe we can go
- 15:48Speaker 1: air it out and grow it forty times, but I
- 15:50Speaker 1: just don't think that's what we're gonna do, and I
- 15:51Speaker 1: don't think we should be doing that and brainy conditions.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So I think we're gonna try to establish the run.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I think UCLA is gonna established the run. I think
- 16:02Speaker 1: both teams are gonna.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Use play action.
- 16:04Speaker 1: We might we'll see, well, let's let's ask this. Will
- 16:08Speaker 1: we see the screen pass and if so, how often?
- 16:14Speaker 3: Mm hmm you think? I think you're still gonna see it.
- 16:18Speaker 3: You're probably not gonna see eleven of them or I
- 16:22Speaker 3: don't know. I don't think that the media's attention to
- 16:29Speaker 3: the screen pass is gonna make them not throw it,
- 16:32Speaker 3: especially if it's rainy out. You're not gonna be looking
- 16:35Speaker 3: to throw a deep dumbfield.
- 16:38Speaker 2: We're talking about a guy that has rocks for brains.
- 16:40Speaker 2: He's gonna he's gonna run fifteen screen pat like he's
- 16:43Speaker 2: he's I don't think he changes that thing.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Okay, so you say that Dak. Did anybody listen to
- 16:50Speaker 1: Dylan Royola.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Dylan was. He's like, hey man, we're not executing.
- 16:55Speaker 3: It's not Sad's fault basically. So yeah, but.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Dylan came out and defend Sadderfield and basically tells everybody
- 17:02Speaker 1: they need to children, like.
- 17:06Speaker 4: In a roundabout way.
- 17:07Speaker 1: That's what he said, and I get it, Like everyone
- 17:13Speaker 1: can talk about that differently, but he didn't have to
- 17:15Speaker 1: say anything about it. He came out and really did
- 17:17Speaker 1: backup Sadderfield. I liked that mindset. I think Dylan wants
- 17:21Speaker 1: to be on a mission. I'll go back to it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: He missed a couple of big throws in that game
- 17:26Speaker 1: against Ohio State that you make those that gives you
- 17:29Speaker 1: a lot better chance of winning that game. So I
- 17:32Speaker 1: think his mindset's still in the right place, and it'll
- 17:35Speaker 1: just be interesting to track that here from now until
- 17:38Speaker 1: the end of the year. And I guess throughout his
- 17:39Speaker 1: time in Nebraska because he does. He has a very winner,
- 17:43Speaker 1: championship like mentality, the way he talks, and yeah, he's
- 17:49Speaker 1: defending Sadderfield to people like are all over the board
- 17:53Speaker 1: on him, Dax.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Ready to fire.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Him last year. I will say with play calling, this
- 18:02Speaker 1: is tough. Play calling is one thing that just get
- 18:06Speaker 1: slammed over and over and everybody in the entire country,
- 18:16Speaker 1: every Husker fan thinks that they can call the plays
- 18:20Speaker 1: better than the offensive coordinator. If Benson's I can remember.
- 18:23Speaker 1: So what's fun is what would you run like if
- 18:28Speaker 1: they if you want to bash it, then you tell
- 18:30Speaker 1: me what would you Because here's the thing. Calling plays,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you have, you have a game plan, you have a
- 18:36Speaker 1: you're kind of playing chess a little bit. Sometimes you're
- 18:38Speaker 1: setting things up to get other things to work. Yeah,
- 18:41Speaker 1: and sometimes that does look miserably bad. And Saderfield does
- 18:45Speaker 1: not have a good reputation. But what in your guys' minds,
- 18:50Speaker 1: like what would you do as the offensive coordinator, like
- 18:52Speaker 1: with the players that we have, with the system that
- 18:54Speaker 1: you have, with your identity, like what are you doing?
- 18:58Speaker 1: That's that's the question to ask what would you change?
- 19:01Speaker 1: And don't just tell me stop theiring screen passes? Like
- 19:03Speaker 1: what else are you running?
- 19:07Speaker 3: I said, I don't have an issue as screen passes,
- 19:09Speaker 3: but when it's third and eight and it's your tenth
- 19:12Speaker 3: point of the game and you've gone a total of
- 19:14Speaker 3: twenty yards running, no, it's not working that game. That
- 19:18Speaker 3: was my frustration. I don't I like screen passes bena
- 19:22Speaker 3: high efficiency, but when the whole game it's proven that
- 19:24Speaker 3: you can't have any success with it, you gotta try
- 19:28Speaker 3: something else.
- 19:31Speaker 1: And what you don't know is maybe this is what
- 19:33Speaker 1: I said, or what actually Jackson who's been on the podcast,
- 19:36Speaker 1: what he said. You never know if these screen passes
- 19:39Speaker 1: are always to set up for some of these deeper
- 19:44Speaker 1: balls that we just missed, Like, you don't know if
- 19:47Speaker 1: that's all part of the scheme.
- 19:48Speaker 2: You don't.
- 19:49Speaker 4: You wouldn't think eleven times it is.
- 19:51Speaker 1: But I'm a big I'm a big number screen pass
- 19:55Speaker 1: type of guy. Obviously to make it work, though, you
- 19:57Speaker 1: have to be efficient to effect in your perimeter blocking,
- 20:01Speaker 1: which we have not been and we've shown not to be.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And some of the players have been worse than others
- 20:07Speaker 1: out there, but then you throw in some of the
- 20:09Speaker 1: better players, then you're pretty predictable. So there's just so
- 20:12Speaker 1: much going on when it comes to play calling, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: everybody thinks they have the solution until you ask them
- 20:17Speaker 1: what the solution is, and then you start talking in
- 20:23Speaker 1: circles because it's it's tough, it's it is difficult. So
- 20:26Speaker 1: I will always defend play callers to a certain extent.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Now when it comes to maybe a specific like third
- 20:34Speaker 1: and short from the you know, third and one and
- 20:36Speaker 1: you're in the shotgun, like, I have an issue with that.
- 20:41Speaker 1: But when it comes to just generally calling a game
- 20:46Speaker 1: from start to finish and what you think will work
- 20:48Speaker 1: and doesn't work, I tend to side with the coordinators
- 20:51Speaker 1: more so than anything. And I'm waiting for you to
- 20:59Speaker 1: like jump in and try to like argue with me
- 21:01Speaker 1: on this, but I think I'll just shut you up
- 21:03Speaker 1: because you have nothing.
- 21:07Speaker 2: There's one play and I'll give you, guys a guess
- 21:09Speaker 2: at that. I wanted to run, Yes, the love of God,
- 21:17Speaker 2: run that and all shut up about that for the
- 21:20Speaker 2: rest of the year if they finally runs it.
- 21:22Speaker 5: But you don't have a counter argument, I don't. I don't,
- 21:31Speaker 5: and so Dak.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'll speak the counter argument for you because I've heard
- 21:35Speaker 1: the other side to the counter argument is that Sadderfield
- 21:40Speaker 1: has never proven himself to be a good play caller
- 21:42Speaker 1: anywhere he's been, and that South Carolina didn't want him
- 21:48Speaker 1: and we had to hire we were paying them way
- 21:53Speaker 1: more than we should be to call plays. Like that's
- 21:56Speaker 1: the counter argument is is he's never proven himself, And
- 21:59Speaker 1: that might be fair point because he hasn't. But I
- 22:05Speaker 1: also don't think it's just fair enough to give him
- 22:07Speaker 1: a chance. But but I will say, if things don't
- 22:09Speaker 1: get better, yeah, you're you're probably looking at a different
- 22:11Speaker 1: option because a coordinator position is easier to replace in
- 22:16Speaker 1: the head coach position from a continuity standpoint, And then
- 22:19Speaker 1: if you even want to go further down and look
- 22:21Speaker 1: at position coaches. I'm not saying it pointing anybody out
- 22:25Speaker 1: in particular, but like, I think there's things that can
- 22:28Speaker 1: get moved around if we don't see progress now a
- 22:31Speaker 1: lot of state can we agree we saw progress.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Now it was some like, yeah, it was.
- 22:38Speaker 1: It didn't take much to see progress from what our
- 22:40Speaker 1: offense was the first six games, but we did see some.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd agree. I'd say definitely say we saw some progress.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I mean you look at the I said, we're not
- 22:53Speaker 3: firing anyone yet. I know Dak wants to clean house
- 22:56Speaker 3: the offensive side. Who would you even keep on the
- 22:59Speaker 3: offensive side? Oh, I Ron Brown can't.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I don't know any other offensive coaches, but I would
- 23:08Speaker 2: keep your O line coach.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Garrett is not Garrett McGuire. What's McGuire? It is Garret McGuire.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Isn't it wide receivers like the twenty five year old?
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I would keep it. I would I keep everybody
- 23:21Speaker 2: besides Sadderfield. I think maybe your tight end coach Ifield.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure isn't centerfield the tight end coach right now?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Well, there you go, see you So we had that
- 23:37Speaker 2: one on the head. I know, but yeah, I don't.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I think you're a line I'm sure keep your on
- 23:45Speaker 2: line coach. I think they've improved a lot of two years.
- 23:48Speaker 3: You know Rayola's uncle.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yep, I'll keep paying me and wire severer coach. I
- 23:53Speaker 2: don't think why seever? Is that good? Mike skill wise?
- 23:56Speaker 3: Interesting?
- 23:58Speaker 1: So why I guess on offense? Wrap offense up here?
- 24:02Speaker 1: What what are our keys here for this week?
- 24:07Speaker 3: Bet the under and I think limit turnovers and controlled
- 24:15Speaker 3: time and possession. I think it's gonna be a low
- 24:18Speaker 3: scoring game, and the more possessions you have, better off
- 24:23Speaker 3: you're gonna be.
- 24:27Speaker 2: You're gonna you're gonna to establish a run for sure.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Again, do we establish a run and air it out?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yes? You so what you do is established the run
- 24:43Speaker 2: the let reil aired out? No? No, I I just
- 24:50Speaker 2: said out Saderfield's game plans for the same I would do.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I would do the same game think you did as
- 24:55Speaker 2: a hot state, not on the dot, not on the dot,
- 25:00Speaker 2: not lemon screens. But I think that was the best
- 25:06Speaker 2: the bests can look.
- 25:09Speaker 3: The best os looks in tweak one.
- 25:10Speaker 1: But I need I need a mute button for Dak
- 25:13Speaker 1: like around the horn, like when he just starts like
- 25:15Speaker 1: talking out of both sides of his mouth, like stop, I.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Didn't get a hundred points there.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Oh my god, here's people from around the horn, mister opportunity.
- 25:33Speaker 4: I need, I need the need the woody page. Yeah,
- 25:37Speaker 4: the kboard quote in the background.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Uh, I want Dylan Ryola to show that he can
- 25:45Speaker 1: run the ball two weeks in a row. I don't
- 25:48Speaker 1: want that to be a fluke thing. The comments about
- 25:50Speaker 1: it by Sadderfield were weird. The comments about it by
- 25:53Speaker 1: Dylan were weird. I made it sound like that it
- 25:56Speaker 1: wasn't even talked about like before the game, which is
- 25:59Speaker 1: just odd to me.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Like Dylan just said, I'm gonna do this.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Because I think I can do it, Like I don't
- 26:05Speaker 1: even want to think about that because it makes me
- 26:07Speaker 1: uncomfortable with how like why why was that a thing
- 26:10Speaker 1: the first half of the season, But I want to
- 26:15Speaker 1: see him do it again, like it was effective and
- 26:17Speaker 1: if you do it again, teams really have to start
- 26:19Speaker 1: preparing for it.
- 26:20Speaker 4: You can.
- 26:21Speaker 1: You know UCLA is thinking about it right there. So
- 26:25Speaker 1: all right, Dylan showed he can run a little bit.
- 26:27Speaker 1: How you know if he starts doing this, how are
- 26:30Speaker 1: we countering that. That's what I want to see out
- 26:33Speaker 1: of our offense specifically, is not saying designed runs, but
- 26:37Speaker 1: just at elusiveness again from Ryola two weeks in a row.
- 26:40Speaker 1: That adds another element to our offense, and I do
- 26:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it. I want to see screen passes work,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and I think that's a good game to do it
- 26:50Speaker 1: on and scheme with the right guys to get them
- 26:57Speaker 1: to be effective. I think that's a very effective play
- 27:01Speaker 1: in my mind. Just again, when I would run for
- 27:03Speaker 1: an offense, it would involve a lot of you know,
- 27:06Speaker 1: count the numbers screenplays and may not man find the
- 27:08Speaker 1: blocks and make the play.
- 27:10Speaker 4: But you have to execute it for it to be effective.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So that's my big thing offensively, got to do it again,
- 27:17Speaker 1: have to be consistent and do it again.
- 27:20Speaker 4: What we saw the step forward.
- 27:24Speaker 3: I can already we would just be sick to our stomach.
- 27:26Speaker 3: We hopped on this pot on Sunday after losing to UCLA.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. I know it's totally possible.
- 27:36Speaker 4: We've done it before, but you just hate.
- 27:39Speaker 3: To be like, oh man, Indiana was a fluke and
- 27:41Speaker 3: then come out play really well against number four Ohio
- 27:44Speaker 3: State and then just drop the ball against u claugh.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Would you guys, would you guys be more I think
- 27:52Speaker 2: you guys are for sure. Hunter was sad after Indiana.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Would you guys be more sad after the If you
- 27:58Speaker 2: lost the UCLA let's stay by ten then after the
- 28:01Speaker 2: Indiana game, Pod.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I'd probably be more sad less disgusted. I was disgusted
- 28:06Speaker 3: after the Indiana game.
- 28:07Speaker 4: I didn't feel anything.
- 28:10Speaker 2: It's probably because you were sitting out in the forty
- 28:11Speaker 2: degree weather. What you're sitting outdoors in the rain the pod.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, oh on the Monday, Yeah, I was gonna Like
- 28:22Speaker 1: after the game, the Indiana game, I did not feel
- 28:25Speaker 1: emotion for like twenty four hours.
- 28:27Speaker 4: I think that's how I felt.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I will say losing by now, if we get beat
- 28:32Speaker 1: at home by UCLA forty two.
- 28:34Speaker 3: To ten, everything's on the table.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I really don't know, but I will say, like this game,
- 28:47Speaker 1: we've seen it all right, as Oscar fans, at least
- 28:49Speaker 1: we think we have, so let's fine when not in
- 28:54Speaker 1: convincing fashion. So that's why I think the goal is here. Okay,
- 28:59Speaker 1: defenses the ball.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Again?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Can we do it again? That's like my line of
- 29:05Speaker 1: the week. Can our defensive line once again play well
- 29:12Speaker 1: like we have for a majority of the year, but
- 29:15Speaker 1: be consistent upfront? And we saw that again against Ohio
- 29:20Speaker 1: State did a really good job of getting pressure and
- 29:23Speaker 1: we were not giving.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Will Howard anytime to hit his playmaker wide receivers.
- 29:34Speaker 1: UCLA has given up I had it pulled up twenty
- 29:39Speaker 1: some sacks on the year, twenty three I think sacks
- 29:41Speaker 1: in the year. We need to take advantage of that
- 29:45Speaker 1: and force turnovers. Like Austin said early on, Obviously, offense,
- 29:49Speaker 1: let's not turn it over, but defensively, let's force turnovers.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Let's win the turnover margin.
- 29:54Speaker 1: We're doing a good job of that this year as
- 29:56Speaker 1: a team, Like we're not talking about it in a
- 29:58Speaker 1: negative way. Huge this game that might be a deciding
- 30:03Speaker 1: factor on the outcome given the condition. So like defensive
- 30:09Speaker 1: lineups do it again, that's gonna be huge. To stop
- 30:13Speaker 1: the run early, get the crowd behind us to show nope,
- 30:17Speaker 1: this is the defense that we want to rally behind.
- 30:20Speaker 1: That's the biggest thing for me, especially early.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, and I don't you know, I admittedly
- 30:27Speaker 3: have not watched a single U c l A game either.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Forget they're in the Big ten half the time. What
- 30:36Speaker 3: game this is off subject? Usc Who did they play
- 30:39Speaker 3: last week where the game got over at like one am?
- 30:44Speaker 2: Mhm, Hell have I know? I wasn't.
- 30:47Speaker 3: All I know is that ridiculous?
- 30:51Speaker 2: Oh? They played? They played Rutgers, didn't they Yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 3: L yes, yeah, so like it was lital been like
- 30:59Speaker 3: three am them like Rutgers time yep or whatever. Yeah,
- 31:05Speaker 3: way too late. Yes, I don't know if that. You know,
- 31:10Speaker 3: you look at the sacks and the rushing numbers, if
- 31:12Speaker 3: that's just a product with them having a bad offensive line. Again,
- 31:15Speaker 3: have not watched a single UCLA snap. I suspect you know,
- 31:20Speaker 3: if you've given up twenty sacks and you're only averaging
- 31:22Speaker 3: two and a half yards to carry your O lines
- 31:24Speaker 3: not great, which I hope plays in really well to
- 31:27Speaker 3: our D line being arguably the strength of our whole team. Yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 3: I agree, Just stuff the run. Make you think. Garber
- 31:35Speaker 3: beat you with his arm. He cooked Rutgers last week
- 31:38Speaker 3: with it. But he also had a little bit of
- 31:41Speaker 3: a comment run game with one hundred yard rusher. So yeah,
- 31:48Speaker 3: you want to turnover, You want to increase, you want
- 31:51Speaker 3: to increase your possessions and control the ball. So keep
- 31:53Speaker 3: them out on short three and outs and get turnovers
- 31:57Speaker 3: and I think we win. I really you.
- 32:03Speaker 2: You want to well their offense, the run game in
- 32:08Speaker 2: passing so bad. On which one you want to do?
- 32:10Speaker 2: You probably you want them to throw the ball, because
- 32:13Speaker 2: if they run the ball, yeah, if it's raining, if
- 32:17Speaker 2: they run the ball, they can control the clock and
- 32:19Speaker 2: throw the game better. You want to if for turn
- 32:24Speaker 2: mu to stack the box, make them throw the ball
- 32:25Speaker 2: at Garber and hope the other pick six on them.
- 32:29Speaker 2: You're shooting for and give up less than seventeen points
- 32:33Speaker 2: of this team, I think, I think that's and that's
- 32:37Speaker 2: pretty good goal. I think I think I would be
- 32:40Speaker 2: shocked if they score more in seventeen this game.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I said, Really, the only you're worried about Kegan Jones
- 32:46Speaker 3: probably and that's about it. Their tight ends, maybe Maliki
- 32:51Speaker 3: of Ao. I mean, those are really their two offensive weapons.
- 32:56Speaker 3: And even then you're not you're not scared of them.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I mean, Rico Flores is a Logan Loya, a couple
- 33:03Speaker 1: of their wide receivers that have shown to have some explosiveness.
- 33:07Speaker 1: But I mean, I agree, it's not like we're playing
- 33:10Speaker 1: Ohio State with all this talent. So that the biggest thing,
- 33:14Speaker 1: and this is the whole talk, and I think it's
- 33:17Speaker 1: something that doesn't get talked about enough, but it's a reality.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Is the mindset of the players going into.
- 33:24Speaker 1: A game and getting them I say, going into the
- 33:28Speaker 1: game from a whole week standpoint, your preparation, how you practice,
- 33:33Speaker 1: and then when it actually gets time to the game,
- 33:35Speaker 1: like where's their head at? That's coaching one oh one
- 33:39Speaker 1: to begin with, and I feel like that's something that
- 33:42Speaker 1: really good coaches know how to control. This team is
- 33:45Speaker 1: not the same talented level of team we played as
- 33:49Speaker 1: Ohio State. We played Ohio State with nothing to lose.
- 33:51Speaker 1: We played free, we played loose, We played schematically like
- 33:55Speaker 1: all right, well we're gonna try this doesn't work.
- 33:57Speaker 4: It's because they have better talented players.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Well guess what when you kind of go out and
- 34:02Speaker 1: play loose and you're not overthinking everything from a play
- 34:05Speaker 1: calling standpoint, but also then from an execution standpoint, things
- 34:09Speaker 1: start to work and click.
- 34:10Speaker 4: So I think that's the the.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Mindset that we have to get instilled in a game
- 34:16Speaker 1: like this, like not know, we're better than this team,
- 34:19Speaker 1: so we're going to go out and if we just
- 34:21Speaker 1: play well, we're going to win. And that's not the
- 34:22Speaker 1: right mindset to have. That's what we try to do
- 34:24Speaker 1: against Indiana, and look what happened. I think we have
- 34:27Speaker 1: to go into the game thinking, no, this is like
- 34:30Speaker 1: Ohio State, this is our super Bowl.
- 34:32Speaker 4: This is our national championship.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Let's do everything we can to treat these guys like
- 34:38Speaker 1: they are the best team ever, and let's go out
- 34:40Speaker 1: and kick their butt.
- 34:42Speaker 3: I agree, destroy them. That'd be great, a blowout for
- 34:48Speaker 3: bowl eligibility.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Now on the flip side, how about it. You gonna be
- 34:53Speaker 2: sweating after if they lose the UCLA making a bowl game.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Uh, you're sweating.
- 34:57Speaker 4: The pressure is We'll talk about that Sunday.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Yeah, pressure does. It starts to build up a little
- 35:03Speaker 3: bit and the opponents get a little bit better.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Ah, we'll wait.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Last thing I want to see, can we do it again?
- 35:13Speaker 1: It was weird last week. We all said it just
- 35:16Speaker 1: out of the blue, out of nowhere. John Hole comes
- 35:20Speaker 1: in and drills three field goals. Not sure how that happened,
- 35:25Speaker 1: but it did. Now the conditions are going to be different.
- 35:30Speaker 1: It's not just been him missing kicks. It's been our hole,
- 35:32Speaker 1: it's been our snap, It's been a lot of things.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Let's not make the weather an excuse. If we're given
- 35:38Speaker 1: the opportunity to kick, let's take advantage of it and
- 35:43Speaker 1: make the kick.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Let's do it again.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Let's be consistent week after a week. Let's not have
- 35:48Speaker 1: these roller coasters like we've had the past few weeks
- 35:51Speaker 1: and leave us all confused. Maybe that we should get
- 35:53Speaker 1: used to it. But the more consistent we can be,
- 35:56Speaker 1: the better. That's the last thing that like I'm watching
- 36:02Speaker 1: is you know, if it is we're down and we
- 36:04Speaker 1: have a thirty seven yard field goal, and let's say
- 36:06Speaker 1: the ball is a little slick, Like, what are we doing?
- 36:08Speaker 1: Are we now just all confident that role can make these?
- 36:12Speaker 1: Like because he drilled three of them? I don't know,
- 36:14Speaker 1: Like I you said that a week ago, you just
- 36:17Speaker 1: said we're not even gonna attempt to kick this game
- 36:19Speaker 1: at all because we haven't shown we can make one
- 36:23Speaker 1: in dry conditions, let alone this, And.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Now we've made three. Are we gonna go out and
- 36:28Speaker 4: try to attempt a forty eight yarder?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Now?
- 36:30Speaker 4: I like that's fascinating to me.
- 36:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I wouldn't, but maybe we want. I don't know, Like
- 36:35Speaker 1: that's that's a big question mark here.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Is in a game like this, I think we'll still
- 36:41Speaker 3: I think we're gonna I think Rule is gonna ride
- 36:44Speaker 3: that the confidence of last week, and I think he's
- 36:46Speaker 3: gonna put them out there for anything within like fifty I.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Really need conditions like that's what's hard.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't think that you Yeah,
- 37:00Speaker 2: and you aren't confident in him making making any kick
- 37:04Speaker 2: yet still undercent nervous about it now. I've seen it
- 37:08Speaker 2: back back weeks and even though, Okay, this guy's actually
- 37:11Speaker 2: figured it out, but I don't know. I feel like
- 37:15Speaker 2: he's kicking. That game could have been a fluke, like
- 37:17Speaker 2: UCLA's game against Rutgers was a fluke.
- 37:20Speaker 3: True. Uh, before we do score predictions, I have an issue.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Why haven't we gotten our chasing?
- 37:29Speaker 2: It?
- 37:29Speaker 3: Pisces me off that we don't do chasing three episodes
- 37:32Speaker 3: after a loss, Like what a cowardly freaking move. You
- 37:38Speaker 3: gotta show the upside the downs man.
- 37:40Speaker 4: So we haven't done one haavily since Ruggers.
- 37:43Speaker 3: We have not, not since we lost Indiana and when
- 37:47Speaker 3: we lost to Illinois they lumped it in with the
- 37:49Speaker 3: Rutgers one. Mmm, I'm not. I'm not impressed, so I don't.
- 37:58Speaker 1: I'll be honest, I don't watch those very I will
- 38:01Speaker 1: see like highlights and clips of it on Twitter, but
- 38:05Speaker 1: I'm not like watching the episode.
- 38:07Speaker 4: I'm start to finish.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, I'm not upset that they haven't put any episodes.
- 38:10Speaker 3: I'm upset that they don't do it after a loss.
- 38:13Speaker 1: How I've always wondered this, How integrated is the decision
- 38:20Speaker 1: making and the videography and all of that with the
- 38:25Speaker 1: coaching staff, Like it's hard to know.
- 38:29Speaker 3: I mean, they blur stuff out, so I'm assuming the
- 38:31Speaker 3: coaching staff watches the whole thing and approves it.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And approves it right, But is a coaching staff, Like
- 38:38Speaker 1: I'm sure they're not saying, hey, we should be posting
- 38:40Speaker 1: stuff after wins or after losses. It's probably whoever the
- 38:43Speaker 1: team is that's doing it, like deciding that. But I agree,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I mean, like that sucks, I guess.
- 38:50Speaker 4: I mean it does.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Like what you want to build a winning culture and
- 38:53Speaker 1: a mindset, and that's the impression you're given off that
- 38:56Speaker 1: you know you.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Lose and up let's hide that.
- 38:59Speaker 1: That's not sure that versus the lessons learned from it.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I agree that that is a little bit.
- 39:04Speaker 3: You know, they keep talking about oh man, like last week,
- 39:07Speaker 3: Oh it was the hardest week. They were all geared
- 39:09Speaker 3: up all week. I don't fucking know. You show me
- 39:11Speaker 3: a single clip, you know.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Social media, social media and some things like that are
- 39:17Speaker 1: a problem just in general.
- 39:19Speaker 4: I've always said that it's nice.
- 39:22Speaker 2: To have, but I have zero clu what chasing three is, Like,
- 39:28Speaker 2: absolutely no clue.
- 39:29Speaker 3: It's like the YouTube videos that they've been putting out.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Hey, you guys want a genius is a little bit
- 39:38Speaker 1: off topic, but a genius with technology and social media
- 39:41Speaker 1: and all that, a genius.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Uh? Call it?
- 39:45Speaker 1: Like a day at Memorial Stadium or Pinnacle Bank are
- 39:48Speaker 1: now or at a Celtics game is a no phone day,
- 39:53Speaker 1: Like I think that. I think that would get a
- 39:55Speaker 1: lot of traction. Like this game you cannot use your
- 39:59Speaker 1: phones at all, and all you're focused on is cheering
- 40:01Speaker 1: as loud as you can for the whole game awesome,
- 40:05Speaker 1: and interacting with everybody around you, like enjoying that moment
- 40:09Speaker 1: to the point where like if someone has their phone
- 40:10Speaker 1: now you're just like shaming them, like put it away,
- 40:12Speaker 1: like now there's emergencies.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Yeah, so I think they're I think it would work
- 40:18Speaker 3: better at basketball volleyball just because it's a quicker paced
- 40:20Speaker 3: game football there's so much downtime. Yeah, I think that's
- 40:24Speaker 3: an excuse. I think it's an excuse.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I would if you I think it'd be very effective
- 40:30Speaker 1: in a football game, just to show that you know,
- 40:32Speaker 1: people like we can enjoy the game.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Now talking to Hunter, I don't. I don't even have
- 40:40Speaker 3: a smurphone have been this is what.
- 40:42Speaker 2: I do say that sometimes I'm jealousy Austin Priming flip
- 40:46Speaker 2: phone like IM, it's gotta be awesome. So like most
- 40:51Speaker 2: of the time, I don't Twitter if I can live without,
- 40:54Speaker 2: but everything else I could.
- 40:55Speaker 3: It is pretty nice until you get lost or you need,
- 40:58Speaker 3: you know, like anymore. Now you have to use your
- 41:00Speaker 3: QR codes. You have to use a map if I
- 41:04Speaker 3: get lost either usually like I have an ant lias
- 41:06Speaker 3: or I have to phone a friend and be like, hey,
- 41:08Speaker 3: I'm at well marker four thirty one on Highway seventy four.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I think I missed my turn.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm joking. I can live out of iPhone out.
- 41:20Speaker 4: That you wouldn't make it a day.
- 41:23Speaker 2: I could make it a day without my phone.
- 41:25Speaker 4: I don't believe it, just like you could make it
- 41:27Speaker 4: a half marathon on Sunday.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, Dak you said you had a question for
- 41:35Speaker 1: us at the beginning of the podcast.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Yeah, is this a must win or can't lose game?
- 41:43Speaker 4: For the US and the same thing.
- 41:46Speaker 3: No, I think they're different.
- 41:50Speaker 2: What is it?
- 41:53Speaker 4: I think of the same thing.
- 41:57Speaker 1: You've asked me this before, and they're the exact same thing.
- 41:59Speaker 1: They mean the exact same thing.
- 42:00Speaker 2: In my mind.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I feel like can't lose implies that your favorite to
- 42:08Speaker 3: win and you lost the game, like you you should
- 42:13Speaker 3: have won this game. Must win is yeah, you might
- 42:15Speaker 3: not win this game, but you need to win this game.
- 42:19Speaker 2: I feel like the Yankees Dodgers game, that was a
- 42:22Speaker 2: must win for the Yankees.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Well, because if you can't lose and they're done, like.
- 42:28Speaker 3: That's the whole That one's a little different.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Well, your logic sometimes you can't lose.
- 42:46Speaker 2: It's definitely can't lose.
- 42:48Speaker 4: Okay. Score predictions.
- 42:53Speaker 3: We know it's going to rain, and we know we're
- 42:59Speaker 3: gonna want on the ball. I'm gonna go twenty to
- 43:06Speaker 3: ten Nebraska.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Give me fourteen to seven, Nebraska. Just muck it up, Yeah,
- 43:19Speaker 1: muck it up, fourteen seven.
- 43:21Speaker 6: Win the game, gonna be ugly. I'll go here comes
- 43:28Speaker 6: a high score. I'll go twenty one ten Nebraska. I
- 43:35Speaker 6: said thirty one ten. What do you think thirty minutes ago?
- 43:38Speaker 6: Now it's twenty one ten, Nebraska SMA.
- 43:41Speaker 4: It'll be eleven.
- 43:42Speaker 2: After talking through it a little bit more, I'm down
- 43:45Speaker 2: twenty one ten. I think, you see, LA is better
- 43:48Speaker 2: than what people think.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I agree.
- 43:53Speaker 2: And with that line dropping from nine, I don't know
- 43:57Speaker 2: if it was ever nine a half. I heard it
- 43:58Speaker 2: was nine and half on Sunday to say and half.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Now I think it opened at nine and a half.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Yeah, now it's dropped three points. So that's a lot
- 44:06Speaker 2: of there's a lot of mighty going on Ucla and
- 44:09Speaker 2: a half.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Insane for an offense that doesn't score twenty points a game.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but well that is their offense can be able
- 44:16Speaker 2: to score ten.
- 44:19Speaker 3: They looked real good against Ruggers and we did not.
- 44:23Speaker 2: Who's whose offense would just I mean, I guess they
- 44:25Speaker 2: just played. It's better Rugers or UCLA's. Let's se proy UCLA's.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I'd say, you cels.
- 44:34Speaker 1: That's what's hard about thirty five to Ruggers, Right, that's
- 44:39Speaker 1: also true. That's it's just so hard like this year especially,
- 44:43Speaker 1: it's so hard to compare team to team on scores
- 44:47Speaker 1: and what they did is no none of that has
- 44:50Speaker 1: proven to be right, or very little of it has.
- 44:53Speaker 1: So that's why it's so important just to take it
- 44:55Speaker 1: week by week and and just say, okay, this is
- 44:57Speaker 1: this is the super Bowl. Said that like four times now.
- 45:01Speaker 1: But that's what this group needs to think of it
- 45:04Speaker 1: as this week to get a win. So okay, Oh,
- 45:10Speaker 1: by the way, the game is not on.
- 45:12Speaker 4: ESPN Plus on my background?
- 45:16Speaker 2: What is on Fox?
- 45:19Speaker 4: Actually?
- 45:21Speaker 1: This was an old graphic somewhere on YouTube that I
- 45:23Speaker 1: found or Google. So that way people aren't looking on
- 45:30Speaker 1: ESPN Plus to find the game.
- 45:34Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you what it's on. I probably won't
- 45:36Speaker 2: even watch it. I have a catholic winning during the game.
- 45:39Speaker 4: So who yep, you'll have your phone now you're a
- 45:44Speaker 4: true fan.
- 45:45Speaker 2: I won't. I okay, probably will they take.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Probably have your phone out as much as you had
- 45:50Speaker 1: your phone out for the Ou game last week.
- 45:54Speaker 6: None.
- 45:55Speaker 4: You didn't even care because you're not them.
- 45:58Speaker 3: No.
- 45:58Speaker 2: I told you. I didn't want to look.
- 46:00Speaker 4: No, you're not a fan.
- 46:03Speaker 2: We'll see next week.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll see. All right, We're back Sunday, hopefully good
- 46:07Speaker 4: news going to a Bowl game.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Fingers crossed. Oh wait, oh geez, I got some picks?
- 46:13Speaker 4: Oh yeah, what you do?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Go ahead, all right, I'll fire these off here we'll
- 46:21Speaker 2: go Indiana minus state over Michigan State, Washington plus two
- 46:25Speaker 2: and alpgains USC tex A and m two minus two
- 46:28Speaker 2: and alfgans South Carolina, Arizona State minus three against Oklahoma State,
- 46:34Speaker 2: Penn State plus three against Ohio State, Duke plus twenty
- 46:37Speaker 2: against Miami Ole miss miss Nato, Arkansas Army minus twenty
- 46:42Speaker 2: two its air force Florida plus sixteen and a half agains.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I put it. I put against Florida. Okay, Georgia Nebraska
- 46:54Speaker 2: my six nap against UCLA. My lock of the week is, well,
- 46:57Speaker 2: I didn't pick one here. Let's go, oh boy, let's
- 47:02Speaker 2: go ar Re minds twenty two gets the air force.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I like it.
- 47:09Speaker 4: I like a lot of those, Dak, I really do.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Listening to him.
- 47:14Speaker 2: That the Nebraska was almost a lock. I I think
- 47:18Speaker 2: it went by seven or more.
- 47:20Speaker 4: New graphic on Twitter, by the way, this week coming
- 47:22Speaker 4: out for your picks, So.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I don't want to see that. I don't want to
- 47:26Speaker 2: check it out. Was it taking this weekend?
- 47:30Speaker 4: No?
- 47:31Speaker 2: Okay?
- 47:32Speaker 3: Good?
- 47:32Speaker 2: All right?
- 47:36Speaker 3: God gbr no, you're not a fan.
- 47:39Speaker 4: Quick saying that
- 47:41Speaker 2: We're going the game next week, that
