- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's the almost famous podcast. We are here and we
- 0:08Speaker 2: are back. It's no longer the off season. On the
- 0:09Speaker 2: almost famous podcast, we're breaking down episode one of Grand
- 0:13Speaker 2: Season of The Bachelor.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Ashley, Ben, I like the cast.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of girls. Who's who I remember?
- 0:22Speaker 2: You know, I feel like this is a good cast
- 0:25Speaker 2: of like, uh, some drama, some villainous behavior, some beauty,
- 0:32Speaker 2: some great you know, like you've got it all.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Yeah, he really likes him too. I don't think he's
- 0:37Speaker 4: going to have a probable liking any And well, guess what.
- 0:41Speaker 4: At the end, we see that his ultimate problem, the drama,
- 0:45Speaker 4: his teas, the big Tea's is going to be that
- 0:48Speaker 4: he can't pick in the end.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Shocker, never seen it before.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Well, you know, everybody has a hard time, right, everybody
- 0:55Speaker 4: said that you didn't know, but everybody figures it out
- 0:59Speaker 4: before that hour, the actual end hour.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Okay, So let's start there, Ashley and have this conversation.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Okay before we dive into the breakdown of the episode,
- 1:10Speaker 2: which is episode one. So it's going to take us
- 1:13Speaker 2: just a few minutes to talk about a lot of
- 1:16Speaker 2: people that we don't know their names of.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sorry, guys, I'm going to generalize. It could
- 1:20Speaker 4: be like that girl from there, that girl with that
- 1:22Speaker 4: color hair.
- 1:23Speaker 3: We do it every year. But let's start with the teaser.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It does seem like, unlike any season we've seen before,
- 1:33Speaker 2: that he is confused up until literally the very end.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Does that, Ashley, in your mind, take away from this
- 1:44Speaker 2: experience or does it add an intrigue for you where
- 1:48Speaker 2: you're like, I want to see who he chooses and
- 1:50Speaker 2: I want to see this love story come out.
- 1:52Speaker 4: It definitely adds intrigue, okay, and it definitely makes me
- 1:56Speaker 4: feel like he shouldn't pick anyone, and either that neither
- 2:00Speaker 4: of them are his girl, very much like Bradwallmac because
- 2:03Speaker 4: if you're that torn between two people, maybe it's neither.
- 2:08Speaker 4: So you either go the Bradwallmack way where you don't
- 2:10Speaker 4: pick anyone, or you say, like we have to date
- 2:13Speaker 4: in real life, we can't get engaged, Like that's not
- 2:15Speaker 4: the proper place to get engaged.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So I want to go with this conversation next because
- 2:20Speaker 2: I was watching this teaser and I was like, what
- 2:21Speaker 2: would you do? Like, what is the right thing to do?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Or what is the healthy thing to do. I don't
- 2:27Speaker 2: think it's walking away, because he's not sitting there going
- 2:30Speaker 2: I just don't like anybody he's going. I am so
- 2:34Speaker 2: in love with two people that I can't make this decision.
- 2:39Speaker 2: So do you tell them both, hey, let's start, let's
- 2:42Speaker 2: keep doing this weird love triangle.
- 2:45Speaker 4: You know that that's the ending that has never happened
- 2:47Speaker 4: that I want to happen. And every year I try
- 2:50Speaker 4: to call that that's what's going to happen, and it hasn't.
- 2:53Speaker 5: It should this time.
- 2:54Speaker 3: There's no way that's healthy.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Like, there's no way that both women go, yeah, let's
- 2:59Speaker 2: just keep dating all three of us totally.
- 3:02Speaker 4: But if you were to put it in the real
- 3:03Speaker 4: world perspective, isn't it okay to date to people at
- 3:08Speaker 4: the same time as long as you don't say that
- 3:09Speaker 4: you're committed and you're just dating, Like say, he just
- 3:12Speaker 4: goes on a couple of real world dates with these
- 3:15Speaker 4: two girls. I bet you he figures it out faster
- 3:18Speaker 4: than he would in the bachelor environment.
- 3:20Speaker 2: That's probably true. No, I don't think it's wrong to
- 3:23Speaker 2: date and to be dating. I think at this point, though,
- 3:26Speaker 2: we have to take into the context of the show
- 3:29Speaker 2: that these women are showing up thinking that they potentially
- 3:31Speaker 2: could be proposed to.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Well, this shouldn't be proposed to.
- 3:35Speaker 2: And then he's gonna say, let's actually backtrack this to
- 3:38Speaker 2: all keep dating and figure this out outside of this world.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I don't know if that flies with anybody, and I
- 3:45Speaker 2: don't know what kind of message that sends to the
- 3:47Speaker 2: women who have invested, at this point months of their
- 3:50Speaker 2: life into this man.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Wait, we should have asked Brad this. We should have
- 3:55Speaker 4: been like, was it ever an option for you to
- 3:57Speaker 4: just date in real life? Or did you not like
- 4:01Speaker 4: either of them enough?
- 4:02Speaker 3: Dud?
- 4:03Speaker 2: I think just reading through the messaging when we talked
- 4:06Speaker 2: to Brad, great interview, go back listen to it if
- 4:08Speaker 2: you haven't yet a lot of context to this whole
- 4:11Speaker 2: experience that he gives us. I'm assuming Brad didn't like
- 4:15Speaker 2: them enough to propose to them, and that's why he
- 4:18Speaker 2: left the show the way he did. I don't think
- 4:19Speaker 2: he was in the situation that Grant's in, where producers
- 4:23Speaker 2: are telling him you've got to go, man, and Jesse's like,
- 4:26Speaker 2: I need to know who to send here first. It
- 4:29Speaker 2: seems like Grant is more in the camp of I
- 4:32Speaker 2: can't make this decision, which I have no Let me
- 4:38Speaker 2: be clear, I have no judgment for I get it,
- 4:41Speaker 2: I understand it. I've been in it, and those emotions
- 4:43Speaker 2: at the end are confusing. It's chaotic, and especially if
- 4:46Speaker 2: something hasn't happened that's really made one stand out above
- 4:51Speaker 2: the other. I can see how this would happen. So
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'm feeling for Grant here, and I think as viewers
- 5:00Speaker 2: you need to take a second and not judge him
- 5:02Speaker 2: and say, oh, how terrible of him, I think, and
- 5:05Speaker 2: maybe the better perspective to say, I get how this
- 5:07Speaker 2: could get to this point, and I feel for him,
- 5:14Speaker 2: but outside of all that, he needs to make a decision,
- 5:18Speaker 2: even one that could be tough on him, meaning he
- 5:20Speaker 2: walks away because he's like, I'm conflicted and I'll call
- 5:23Speaker 2: you in three months.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Yeah, if we figure this.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Out, well, can we take a let's take a minute
- 5:29Speaker 4: to talk about Grant. We don't really know him at
- 5:32Speaker 4: all from Gen season. I thought of it going into
- 5:35Speaker 4: this episode as if it was like Matt James and
- 5:37Speaker 4: I didn't know him, like he was plucked out of obscurity,
- 5:41Speaker 4: because do you really remember anything of subsidet very very
- 5:45Speaker 4: similar with Clinton. Yeah, we've done this very often in
- 5:47Speaker 4: the past few years. Yeah, So I went in blind
- 5:52Speaker 4: and I really liked him. What they did in the
- 5:54Speaker 4: first ten minutes, do they really draw you in with
- 5:56Speaker 4: him bringing him to the family home and and him
- 6:00Speaker 4: talking to his dad, who he seems to not see
- 6:04Speaker 4: often because he once he's been in the midst of
- 6:08Speaker 4: substance abuse for thirty years. He's finally seemingly gotten clean.
- 6:12Speaker 4: But he just talks about his childhood as like, even
- 6:15Speaker 4: though his parents were together up until college, he still
- 6:19Speaker 4: was around a lot of fighting, He was around the
- 6:22Speaker 4: you know, the substance abuse. He didn't have like really
- 6:27Speaker 4: romantic idols, and he leaned into basketball and it's it's
- 6:32Speaker 4: just been always a thing that he's been searching for,
- 6:35Speaker 4: is like a safe spot, a comfortable place to come
- 6:37Speaker 4: home to.
- 6:38Speaker 2: One of the things that Grant brought up and when
- 6:41Speaker 2: we talked to him was that he this season represented
- 6:45Speaker 2: a lot of growth for him personally and almost like
- 6:48Speaker 2: a therapy, and a part of that was his dad's story.
- 6:51Speaker 2: So it was reconnecting with his dad for the first
- 6:53Speaker 2: time in a long time. And I think we see
- 6:55Speaker 2: it through the previews of the rest of the season.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I think we see it on this episode. I do
- 7:00Speaker 2: feel like we got to know Grant and I'm rooting
- 7:02Speaker 2: for him. Now. I've never wanted to see a lead fail. However,
- 7:08Speaker 2: I have gone into seasons being very apathetic about their
- 7:11Speaker 2: journey because I'm like, I just still know this person,
- 7:13Speaker 2: and why am I rooting for them? I'm rooting for Grant.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I want to see this work for Grant. The family
- 7:19Speaker 2: dynamic that he has is beautiful. Obviously, we see his
- 7:22Speaker 2: sister come onto this show. She's gorgeous, she's protective, she's funny,
- 7:28Speaker 2: and she's carrying. She's a great big sister to Grant.
- 7:31Speaker 2: We see his grandma and his mom dad. So the
- 7:35Speaker 2: show did what it needed to do. Now, I didn't
- 7:37Speaker 2: give us like a long version of his story, but
- 7:40Speaker 2: we know enough now to say, hey, this isn't just
- 7:43Speaker 2: some handsome dude. This is actually a guy that wants
- 7:47Speaker 2: to meet somebody and has a family back home rooting
- 7:50Speaker 2: for him, and so I want to root for him.
- 7:52Speaker 3: At least that was my experience.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 7:54Speaker 4: And do you know what really got me The line
- 7:56Speaker 4: that he said where they didn't even have dinner together
- 8:01Speaker 4: that maybe be like, Okay, that is really sad, and
- 8:04Speaker 4: that is something that I want to prioritize with our family.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's one of the things I look back on
- 8:09Speaker 2: my childhood and I think for any parents out there,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I think one of the things I look back now
- 8:13Speaker 2: and think that's so special is that I had dinner
- 8:15Speaker 2: with my parents every night, that we could around a
- 8:18Speaker 2: table without our cell phones, without the TV, just to
- 8:22Speaker 2: be with each other for forty minutes. It's all we're
- 8:25Speaker 2: asking and I really appreciate it. I might not loved
- 8:28Speaker 2: it back then, I appreciate it now.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's one of the most important things if you
- 8:32Speaker 4: talk to a psychiatrists about the way that kids end up,
- 8:36Speaker 4: especially in those formative teen years, where yeah, so easy
- 8:40Speaker 4: to go ascray.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, let's dive in then to the breakdown of the
- 8:45Speaker 2: first episode of The Bachelor.
- 8:47Speaker 3: We have the limit entrances. They are cute.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'd say, there without the glitz and the flare of
- 8:55Speaker 2: past seasons, and I like that. It was a lot
- 8:57Speaker 2: of just really nice introductions. We got to see them
- 9:01Speaker 2: meet and that was awesome. Now we did see a
- 9:04Speaker 2: lama that was you know, unique. I would my takeaway
- 9:10Speaker 2: from this, and I mean this in the best way
- 9:15Speaker 2: possible is I don't remember a season since mine where
- 9:24Speaker 2: there was so many just like drop dead beautiful people walking.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Out of a limo.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Yeah, these girls are.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I felt like every single person that stepped out of Lemo,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I was like, goodness, how's he going to do this?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Like, how's it going to do Night one? Now?
- 9:38Speaker 2: The rest of the time, you know, physical attraction is
- 9:40Speaker 2: less of an important decision maker, but on Night one,
- 9:44Speaker 2: that's really what you're going after. Yes, and he has
- 9:48Speaker 2: a beautiful cast of big personalities and I and I'm
- 9:54Speaker 2: really as I said, I love the cast. I'm really
- 9:56Speaker 2: excited to watch them kind of mold into you know,
- 10:00Speaker 2: people were familiar.
- 10:01Speaker 4: With When you think about Night one, who are the
- 10:14Speaker 4: three girls? That's not necessarily like who the three that
- 10:18Speaker 4: you're thinking of, not the ones who had the flashy's
- 10:22Speaker 4: entrances or like him with connections, like who are the
- 10:26Speaker 4: three main characters?
- 10:27Speaker 2: Do when I think at Night one, Ashley, it's a
- 10:30Speaker 2: good question, alex One right, first impression Rows She stood
- 10:34Speaker 2: out to us when we did the breakdown of the
- 10:36Speaker 2: cast without knowing anybody, Alicia, because I love that they
- 10:44Speaker 2: just get done making out on a couch and she goes,
- 10:47Speaker 2: I don't usually kiss on the first date. And jess
- 10:49Speaker 2: Jessica is in the background watching, and she goes, this
- 10:53Speaker 2: is even the first date, girl, Like you just sat
- 10:55Speaker 2: on a couch with this guy for five minutes. Like
- 10:57Speaker 2: the yeah, totally different world here. I also stands out
- 11:03Speaker 2: to me, Ashley. My third is Bailey. Oh and there's
- 11:08Speaker 2: a reason why.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Okay, I'll tell you. Okay, so we match on alex
- 11:12Speaker 4: and Alesia. Those were two of my three, and my
- 11:15Speaker 4: other one is Carolina, the one from Puerto Rico. And
- 11:19Speaker 4: if I were to have a like a standby contestant,
- 11:23Speaker 4: it would be either Juliana, the Italian from Massachusetts or Natalie,
- 11:30Speaker 4: who is the PhD student that he really liked work
- 11:34Speaker 4: with children.
- 11:35Speaker 2: I think Caroline is going to be there a long time,
- 11:37Speaker 2: and we see that kind of in the previews for
- 11:39Speaker 2: the rest of the season. She's obviously a big factor
- 11:44Speaker 2: as the season continues. And so I agree with you
- 11:46Speaker 2: take nothing away from that. Bailey stood out.
- 11:49Speaker 5: To me Bailey Bailey because she was cringe.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yes, I think she's going to be a drama starter,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and I think right now we're watching it, and we're
- 11:59Speaker 2: seeing signs that this is going to be a storyline
- 12:06Speaker 2: for the rest of the season. And I think viewers
- 12:07Speaker 2: who have watched the show for a while could probably
- 12:11Speaker 2: pick up on that. But I think she's going to
- 12:14Speaker 2: get herself into a little trouble. And then the other
- 12:17Speaker 2: person I think is gonna get in a little trouble
- 12:19Speaker 2: is Parsa, And that's why she stood out to me.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So I watched these two.
- 12:22Speaker 4: And I was like another cringe.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, like those two are giving signs and maybe I'll
- 12:28Speaker 2: be wrong, but they're giving signs right now to me
- 12:31Speaker 2: of some maybe more like villainous behavior.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Okay, so to me it wasn't villainous. But those are
- 12:40Speaker 5: the two girls that I thought.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I don't think he really likes them. Yeah, I thought
- 12:45Speaker 4: that he may even not chose either of them.
- 12:48Speaker 5: One or the other.
- 12:49Speaker 4: One I thought could have gone. Bailey was so cringe
- 12:54Speaker 4: with the whole, like Emily and Paris thing like I'm
- 12:57Speaker 4: a social media like this is me as an influencer
- 13:00Speaker 4: being like, girl, come on now, the fact that you're like,
- 13:03Speaker 4: let's take a selfie, Like I love social media and
- 13:05Speaker 4: I love to yeah, and document everything about my life.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Oh my, oh god.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I thought it was such a turn off. And then
- 13:15Speaker 4: Parisa with the PowerPoint presentation that was also super cringe.
- 13:19Speaker 4: This was a theme that I didn't understand from this episode.
- 13:23Speaker 4: I don't know. The producers must have pushed it. They
- 13:26Speaker 4: really made these girls say I'm.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Gonna marry him. That's my husband, that's my husband.
- 13:31Speaker 4: We're gonna get married, Like look at this picture of
- 13:33Speaker 4: mess together and like wedding dresses.
- 13:35Speaker 5: I was like, what are they doing.
- 13:36Speaker 4: They're making them seem so immature doing that, like I'm
- 13:39Speaker 4: gonna marry this man who I really haven't I've spent
- 13:43Speaker 4: maybe five to ten minutes with. It's just like it
- 13:46Speaker 4: was a little bit too much Prince Charming and I'm
- 13:49Speaker 4: trying to woo him.
- 13:50Speaker 5: At the ball.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I agree, And I also think it's probably unattractive for
- 13:55Speaker 2: the viewers because the viewers watch this with wanting a
- 13:59Speaker 2: semi mature as misture as this show can be love story,
- 14:03Speaker 2: and when it starts like this, I would imagine most
- 14:07Speaker 2: viewers are going, how are they already talking like this,
- 14:10Speaker 2: and how in a sense desperate are they to win
- 14:15Speaker 2: at the end, because it does feel immature, and it
- 14:19Speaker 2: does feel like the people that I've always appreciated on
- 14:22Speaker 2: the show come in and be like, I'm excited to
- 14:23Speaker 2: meet this person, but I don't know them yet, but
- 14:26Speaker 2: I'm hoping something can form the Kelsey's of the world, Right,
- 14:30Speaker 2: Kelsey from Joey's season very much like that, and now
- 14:34Speaker 2: look where they're at. It turns into something mature and
- 14:36Speaker 2: loving and real and it's not so like oddly forced.
- 14:41Speaker 2: If I was on Night one and I had somebody
- 14:44Speaker 2: sit by me, or if I overheard somebody saying that's
- 14:47Speaker 2: going to be my husband, I'd be like, we're out,
- 14:51Speaker 2: Like you're gone.
- 14:52Speaker 4: I know. I thought it would be so unattractive for him,
- 14:55Speaker 4: especially since he didn't have a huge role on gen season,
- 14:58Speaker 4: that you're not even going base on a lot of personality,
- 15:01Speaker 4: Like I can see you having like a parasocial relationship
- 15:05Speaker 4: with the person who's the runner up third, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 4: where you feel like you really know them from TV
- 15:11Speaker 4: and you are so excited to get to meet them.
- 15:14Speaker 4: But with this, it's like, you guys are really just
- 15:16Speaker 4: showing that you're going on looks alone.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah, And inside of me, Ashley is excited to see
- 15:23Speaker 2: this because I do feel like this cast is going
- 15:26Speaker 2: to like combust I think it's going to be so
- 15:30Speaker 2: dramatic within the house because of some of this behavior
- 15:33Speaker 2: right now, And we haven't really had a season for
- 15:36Speaker 2: a long time. I mean some of the best seasons
- 15:39Speaker 2: that we remember, right the Nick Files seasons where we
- 15:41Speaker 2: had this like element of combustion within the house and
- 15:45Speaker 2: we all talked about it and we had somebody like
- 15:48Speaker 2: kind of leading the charge.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:49Speaker 2: We think of Carin right there, that name comes to mind.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I think this season has something similar going on, and
- 15:57Speaker 2: I'm excited for that element, but I do know that
- 15:59Speaker 2: a few will kind of stand above. There's also something
- 16:03Speaker 2: that I think could have gone unnoticed. But you know
- 16:06Speaker 2: how we always used to talk about justin Glaze and
- 16:08Speaker 2: his like looks, his facial expressions. Yeah, you know who
- 16:13Speaker 2: has the death stare? Like a stare that would make
- 16:16Speaker 2: me shudder. Dina Rebecca, Especially when the first like the
- 16:23Speaker 2: grand sister walks out, they kind of flashed to her
- 16:26Speaker 2: and she's in the background and she's just like kind
- 16:29Speaker 2: of staring at the new entrance and I'm like, goodness,
- 16:34Speaker 2: I would be frightened.
- 16:35Speaker 5: She really Yeah, Rebecca.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Based on her photo, we thought that she was super intimidating,
- 16:43Speaker 4: but I thought her as a person there didn't come
- 16:46Speaker 4: across as intimated, as much aimated not.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I just think her look is I think the look.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I think she has a look like she has in
- 16:52Speaker 2: that photo. I think she has that look in real
- 16:55Speaker 2: life when she's intrigued or curious.
- 17:00Speaker 3: But that is like the look of power. It is.
- 17:05Speaker 2: It would I'd be nervous if I was Grant and
- 17:08Speaker 2: I walked past that look. The I'm with you on Carolina.
- 17:13Speaker 2: It's interesting to me, Ashley, that we know so many
- 17:15Speaker 2: names from night one. Usually you and I get on
- 17:17Speaker 2: here and it's all kind of a blur. Nobody really
- 17:20Speaker 2: stands out. But we just named five people and.
- 17:24Speaker 5: There's somebody else.
- 17:24Speaker 4: There's two other people that I could name who Lydia, Litti,
- 17:29Speaker 4: Lytia Lytia, and then Zoe who Zoe could be a
- 17:35Speaker 4: drama figure.
- 17:36Speaker 5: She's quite striking that dress.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Loved it. It was emerald, you know, it was really bejeweled.
- 17:44Speaker 4: It was also like supposed to be like quote quote
- 17:46Speaker 4: see through, but it wasn't. It was dude.
- 17:50Speaker 5: I loved it, but it was Laura's scare. I suppose
- 17:52Speaker 5: with the first night.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's fine, it's great, Okay, Ashley.
- 17:58Speaker 2: As we have gone now three of the people that
- 18:00Speaker 2: sit out tow us on night one, I want to
- 18:01Speaker 2: take a second and remind you of who your top
- 18:06Speaker 2: four were when we did the cast and see now
- 18:09Speaker 2: your thoughts on it since it's fresh in our minds.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Your top four were Zoe.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Okay, I don't think she's going to be top four anymore.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I do think that she will play a big role
- 18:19Speaker 4: in the season, but not top four connection wise. Uh huh,
- 18:22Speaker 4: continue Alex, Alex.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Will be top four, Carolina, Carolina will be top four Nisi.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Nie, I don't think so anymore. No, she's a pediatrician
- 18:36Speaker 4: and I didn't feel a big connection with them off
- 18:39Speaker 4: the bat.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And then you thought Rose was going to be the troublemaker.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Okay, I don't think Rose is going to be a troublemaker,
- 18:45Speaker 4: but she will be involved in drama because she has
- 18:48Speaker 4: a big personality and they will have something of a connection.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, my top four I'm still confident in if we
- 19:09Speaker 2: revisited it, and we won't until next week when we
- 19:12Speaker 2: know a little bit more about these women. But my
- 19:15Speaker 2: top four before we started or was Alex, I think
- 19:19Speaker 2: that's a very solid choice.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Feel very good about that.
- 19:21Speaker 5: Choyce, Why does she have the most familiar face ever?
- 19:24Speaker 5: Who does she look like?
- 19:25Speaker 2: I don't know, but she's very I mean she's great.
- 19:28Speaker 2: She like rocked it. She was like cute and funny
- 19:30Speaker 2: and flirty and confident, and I don't know. I think
- 19:34Speaker 2: she's going to be around a while. Alicia was on
- 19:38Speaker 2: my top four. Still feel pretty good about it. Rebecca,
- 19:41Speaker 2: I think I'm sticking with it.
- 19:43Speaker 3: I'm scared. I'm scared to say otherwise.
- 19:46Speaker 5: They did not get her a lot of airtime.
- 19:48Speaker 3: No, because she's going to be a fan favorite.
- 19:51Speaker 5: You're making things up, Okay.
- 19:53Speaker 3: And Zoe. I did have Zoe as well.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It's yet to be seen with Zoe, as you said,
- 19:59Speaker 2: plays a big role in the season.
- 20:02Speaker 3: But I don't know how I feel.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I think Carolina would probably have snuck up there now
- 20:05Speaker 2: if I was to redo this, but we won't again.
- 20:07Speaker 5: What about Juliana.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Juliana definitely, she's my top four now. She's my replacement
- 20:12Speaker 4: for NISI.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Really yeah, Okay, it'll be interesting as the season goes
- 20:17Speaker 2: on to keep track of this, to remind us of
- 20:20Speaker 2: who we had at the beginning. But I feel pretty
- 20:23Speaker 2: good about our choices. I think we were kind of
- 20:25Speaker 2: spot on, and I'm guessing a lot of the viewers
- 20:28Speaker 2: will feel the same way as we progress now through
- 20:33Speaker 2: this season. Actually, I want to stop. Okay, what other
- 20:38Speaker 2: moments from Night one stood out to you actually that
- 20:40Speaker 2: I think are worth talking about?
- 20:42Speaker 4: Well, just two random things with me looking at the
- 20:44Speaker 4: cast right now is I think Ali Joe is so
- 20:47Speaker 4: freaking pretty and I just want to see her.
- 20:49Speaker 5: More on screen.
- 20:51Speaker 4: And then Dina she could be She's not gonna be
- 20:56Speaker 4: a villain, but she's not a warm and fuzzy so
- 20:59Speaker 4: I could see her being a source of some sort attention. Yeah,
- 21:05Speaker 4: what about you?
- 21:06Speaker 2: I think the whole Alex segment to me made it
- 21:11Speaker 2: seem like either she's going to be there to end
- 21:13Speaker 2: or it's going to be a heartbreaking exit way earlier
- 21:16Speaker 2: than we expect, because she was such a star on
- 21:19Speaker 2: Night one and I just watch that and it makes
- 21:21Speaker 2: me work nervous. You don't usually see that out of
- 21:24Speaker 2: the gate, and then that person to be around as
- 21:29Speaker 2: long as we hope and think she will. I also,
- 21:33Speaker 2: as I said, kind of pointed out that there's a
- 21:35Speaker 2: few troublemakers. I think in this group and I always.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Love love because I'm so evil.
- 21:43Speaker 2: When the girls on Night one start talking about how
- 21:48Speaker 2: everybody's on the same page and we're giving each other
- 21:51Speaker 2: at the time yea and this is going to be great,
- 21:53Speaker 2: and I'm like, oh, you have no idea. This is
- 21:58Speaker 2: going to backify. That statement's going to backfire. And so
- 22:01Speaker 2: as a result, I think that's foreshadowing that this season
- 22:03Speaker 2: is going to be messy. And we see it, right,
- 22:09Speaker 2: we see The interesting part of the preview is not
- 22:13Speaker 2: that we see Grant's moments of drama, mostly with his
- 22:18Speaker 2: own tears, but we see a lot of it feels
- 22:22Speaker 2: like inner house arguing. But we do have one moment, actually, there's.
- 22:28Speaker 4: One moment that stands out to me go.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Ahead that we've never seen before. Necessarily okay, a confrontation
- 22:36Speaker 2: to the lead. We see it during the preview. Grant
- 22:40Speaker 2: says the words someone's making that up. I never said that,
- 22:45Speaker 2: which makes me think that somebody is pushing Grant, like
- 22:48Speaker 2: confronting him on something that hurt them. You don't see
- 22:52Speaker 2: that many times with the lead.
- 22:54Speaker 4: You think that person actually made it up though, or
- 22:57Speaker 4: there is somebody in the house that is creating lies.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I think there's somebody creating lies. I think this house
- 23:02Speaker 2: I actually I am under the impression right now.
- 23:07Speaker 4: You really think these girls are drama? Drama, drama. I'm
- 23:09Speaker 4: not so sure.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Do you.
- 23:11Speaker 5: I think that you know things?
- 23:12Speaker 3: I know nothing. Okay, I know nothing about the house.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Okay, he knows something about another element of the season. Okay,
- 23:20Speaker 4: you know nothing about the girls.
- 23:21Speaker 3: And I feel I just have a feeling. I have
- 23:23Speaker 3: a feeling.
- 23:24Speaker 5: Okay.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Well, there's the part of the preview that we didn't
- 23:27Speaker 4: talk about that I thought stood out was Carolina going
- 23:31Speaker 4: up the staircase going I'm evil, evil evil.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it feels a little tongue in cheek to me.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It feels a little bit like, I don't know.
- 23:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and her, well, I think she's just gonna
- 23:46Speaker 4: be very threatening to the women, Suhanna says, I do see.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I think it's a girl thing. I can see her
- 23:51Speaker 4: like maybe being a little bit conceited.
- 23:55Speaker 2: See, I don't see it yet. I love this, Ashulely.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I love that we're both on so different pages. Do
- 24:00Speaker 2: you think the house is going to get along? I
- 24:01Speaker 2: think the house is going to combust. You think Carolina
- 24:05Speaker 2: is actually going to cause trouble. I don't think she
- 24:07Speaker 2: is much at all. I really like this dynamic going
- 24:12Speaker 2: into a season. Usually you and I have these first
- 24:14Speaker 2: episodes and we're both in such agreement that it's a
- 24:16Speaker 2: little boring and there's no conflict between us. But I
- 24:20Speaker 2: think Ashley, as the season goes on, you know, you
- 24:24Speaker 2: and I are going to see the world's very different,
- 24:26Speaker 2: and that makes this so much more fun.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I do love that as well. That is fun. Okay,
- 24:31Speaker 4: was there anything else that we didn't mention?
- 24:34Speaker 3: A lot of kissing?
- 24:35Speaker 5: Oh my god, that was it? Thank you.
- 24:38Speaker 4: At first, I was like, Oh, Alicia's going to get
- 24:40Speaker 4: the first impression Rose because she gets the kiss. Then
- 24:44Speaker 4: I saw that he kissed legit eight. I feel like
- 24:47Speaker 4: we saw like eight should have done a kiss tally.
- 24:51Speaker 4: That was a lot and it made me. I was
- 24:53Speaker 4: like I went in being like, oh, love grit, love
- 24:56Speaker 4: him so much, and then I was like, oh God,
- 24:58Speaker 4: like really, dude, come on now. I didn't leave the
- 25:01Speaker 4: episode like him as much as I went into the episode.
- 25:05Speaker 5: Not that I'm like shaming him for kissing.
- 25:07Speaker 4: There's a lot of bachelers that kiss a lot on
- 25:09Speaker 4: the first night, but I do feel like it was like,
- 25:11Speaker 4: save some goods.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it might be a very like physically romantic season.
- 25:18Speaker 2: It seems like there's gonna be a lot of like
- 25:20Speaker 2: physical chemistry being displayed on our televisions, which is fine.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Like you said, a lot of bachelors do it. I
- 25:30Speaker 2: don't love watching people make out. It's not really something
- 25:33Speaker 2: I enjoy. I like knowing kind of where the relationship
- 25:38Speaker 2: stands as the weeks go on and when they kiss,
- 25:40Speaker 2: and like to kind of see the chemistry a little bit,
- 25:42Speaker 2: but it's not a fun. Part of me watching the
- 25:44Speaker 2: show is me having to view and hear two people's
- 25:48Speaker 2: smack lips.
- 25:49Speaker 4: He looks like a good kisser, though I'm sure he
- 25:52Speaker 4: is nothing against his his kiss I have criticized kissing
- 25:57Speaker 4: styles in the past.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I think Matt Jane was the one that we kept
- 26:00Speaker 2: catching him with his eyes wide open. That was always weird.
- 26:04Speaker 2: But I have nothing against his style his way of
- 26:09Speaker 2: going about it. I just don't love watching it. I
- 26:12Speaker 2: would much rather watch everything other than the two of
- 26:15Speaker 2: them kiss, and I don't like hearing it, And the
- 26:17Speaker 2: show loves to enhance the smacking so that everybody gets
- 26:22Speaker 2: a good sense of what's actually happening. If there's tongue
- 26:25Speaker 2: involved or not. Ashley, I think this is gonna be
- 26:29Speaker 2: a good season.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I don't.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I don't think there's gonna be any part of this
- 26:37Speaker 2: season that feels like past seasons. The reason I say
- 26:42Speaker 2: that is I do think Grant has that element of
- 26:44Speaker 2: mystery and surprise to us. But I also think we're
- 26:47Speaker 2: gonna really like Grant, and I also think we're gonna
- 26:50Speaker 2: really like his cast. So I'm excited for this season.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I'm going into it excited. I'm ready to watch it.
- 26:56Speaker 2: I'm waiting for the next week to come around. I hope,
- 27:01Speaker 2: as a fan and as a viewer, is that the
- 27:06Speaker 2: drama doesn't overtake his ability to connect with these women
- 27:10Speaker 2: like I know he wants to. I think Grant has
- 27:13Speaker 2: a desire to make this real and to make this raw,
- 27:17Speaker 2: to really dig into these relationships, and sometimes the drama
- 27:21Speaker 2: can overtake that, and we watch five weeks of drama
- 27:25Speaker 2: without any progress in relationships, and then we all of
- 27:27Speaker 2: a sudden get spit out at the end. Yeah, I
- 27:29Speaker 2: think that would be the only way this season gets
- 27:31Speaker 2: in a sense ruined to me. Okay, but I still
- 27:35Speaker 2: think Alex is the superstar.
- 27:37Speaker 3: No matter what.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Yeah, totally agree.
- 27:40Speaker 4: I would say my final feedback of this is I'm
- 27:45Speaker 4: a little concerned that he might be like a little
- 27:47Speaker 4: bit puppy dog ish, he might get swallowed up by
- 27:52Speaker 4: the whole thing. Yeah, because he just seems very gentle well,
- 27:56Speaker 4: and his.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Lack of experience on gen season could add into that. Right,
- 28:00Speaker 2: didn't see the end.
- 28:01Speaker 5: That always seems to do.
- 28:03Speaker 4: So if we go back and look at these guys
- 28:07Speaker 4: that we just named earlier in the show, Matt and Clayton,
- 28:13Speaker 4: the less experience you have on the main show except
- 28:16Speaker 4: for Hannah Brown. So maybe it's a bachelor thing. Maybe
- 28:18Speaker 4: it's a bachelor I thing. Maybe it's just a once
- 28:22Speaker 4: at like one instance type thing. Everybody's different. But he
- 28:25Speaker 4: does come across to me as like maybe a little
- 28:29Speaker 4: bit Maybe I'm over exaggerating, but maybe he's a little
- 28:32Speaker 4: bit naive.
- 28:34Speaker 3: I could see it. I think that's a legitimate concern.
- 28:38Speaker 2: But Ashley, for other people listening out there, are you,
- 28:42Speaker 2: and I know you're honest with us about this, are
- 28:45Speaker 2: you excited to watch the rest of the season after
- 28:47Speaker 2: Night one?
- 28:49Speaker 4: I will tell you this, honestly, I've never been so
- 28:53Speaker 4: less excited. I've never been so less excited. Does that
- 28:56Speaker 4: make sense. I've never I think people, I've.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Never looked forward to pressing play.
- 29:03Speaker 4: On an episode less than I did with this.
- 29:07Speaker 5: I will be honest, that's fair.
- 29:10Speaker 4: I don't feel the same way about next week, but
- 29:14Speaker 4: I would rather answer this question after next week's episode.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Okay, I'll ask you again then, Okay, Yeah, Night one's
- 29:20Speaker 3: always weird.
- 29:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not saying I liked it. It was good.
- 29:23Speaker 4: It was good, but I also wasn't like Homely Crop
- 29:27Speaker 4: I cannot wait.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I mean I would disagree in the fact that I'm
- 29:31Speaker 2: excited to watch every episode. I would say that the
- 29:35Speaker 2: preview for the rest of the season didn't make me go, I,
- 29:39Speaker 2: holy crap, kind of like what is going to like
- 29:42Speaker 2: the fence jump stuff. But I do think it's going
- 29:44Speaker 2: to be a good season. I am personally excited to
- 29:47Speaker 2: continue to have these cast members evolve and have Grant
- 29:51Speaker 2: evolve in front of our eyes.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Do you know what? Do you know why it was like,
- 29:56Speaker 4: we're not like that excited about next week. It's because
- 29:58Speaker 4: like we know that the drama that they're really teasing
- 30:02Speaker 4: is the last episode.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Hmmm, we know it's pushed off for so long. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:07Speaker 2: it could be too. Well, we'll be here no matter
- 30:10Speaker 2: what throughout the week doing interviews that we're so excited about, headlines,
- 30:16Speaker 2: catching up with past contestants, but then also every week
- 30:19Speaker 2: breaking down the most recent episode of the Bachelor right
- 30:23Speaker 2: here on the Almost Famous Podcast. Please rate and review us.
- 30:27Speaker 2: We don't ask for that very often, but rate and
- 30:29Speaker 2: review us, especially if it's a five star with like
- 30:32Speaker 2: something nice to say. It's always good, I guess yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Only rate and review us if it's like if it's
- 30:38Speaker 2: like a good review. If it's a bad review, email us.
- 30:40Speaker 2: We won't read it, we'll delete it, but at least
- 30:42Speaker 2: you got your words out. So until next week, I've
- 30:45Speaker 2: been Ben.
- 30:46Speaker 4: I've been Ashley. See yeah.
