  1997 during that summer as well. So we talked about like I said,

  Bash at the Beach 1997 and there was a six man tag.

  So Huvintu Guerrera, Hector Garza and Liz Mark Junior

  defeated La Parka Psychosis and Villano 4.

  Went back and I listened to this and you don't.

  WAF pay-per-view music. That's I think it's my favorite.

  Over original OG wrestle mania. What the I really like the

  summer slam music. I think it's like, it's so

  summer. It's like sweaty and melty, you

  know, And it's, they do a great little graphic thing with summer

  scenes, you know, interspersed with the wrestlers.

  Yes, the best was when like Lod does Doomsday Device and the

  guy's like tumbling out of the letters and.

  Stuff, yes, it's so good. So this is on commentary.

  We've got Vince in his tuxedo with the, the, the red bow tie.

  But then we've also got a a new partner for Vince and it is it

  Roddy Piper. This is, I believe, his first

  pay-per-view on the commentary job.

  Well, he and he also came in straight from the slopes, right?

  He like did a slalom slope. But is that what you call it?

  half before the match kicks off and it's the Rockers coming down

  the aisle. But but if you notice right from

  the jump, the rockers aren't their usual rockers.

  They are like just they're not running down that aisle.

  Sean is limping, limping. So just to backtrack a little

  bit, we've got Paul Roma who was feuding with the rockers back in

  July like this is this everything was was piece meal

  together so fast. And I feel like from a kid lens,

  we used to always think like, oh, they used to let these feuds
• 6:58
  build. Not every feud had a huge build.

  And this is further evidence It was like a little over a month,

  right? Paul Roma feuding with the

  rockers. He's attacked by Dino Bravo at

  some time and Hercules comes to to to save him.

  Next thing you know, Slick is with them and they've got these.

  Pretty sweet matching outfits for Oh absolutely very sweet.

  The shades and everything. So 80s.

  Cup like crop top? Kind of crop top midriff

  showing, yeah. So your stereotypical like gym

  attire back in like the late 80s early?

  Absolutely. And they did push them.

  They hyped these guys up. They got a sweet finisher.

  It we because it's funny, we talked about this.

  We didn't, we were were not watching in 1980, right.

  Yeah, in the WrestleMania 7 when they get squashed by LOD.

  So I was like, oh, these guys are jobbers.

  But back, you know, less than a year before they're, they're

  pushing them pretty, pretty decently.

  They look like 1,000,000 bucks these two and it it's really

  like you're, you know, people doggone guys getting piece

  mealed together and just slapped together.

  But like these guys look great. They they look.

  Incredible. They had a good name too.

  Power and glory. That's pretty sweet and it.

  Fits them. So before the match even begins,

  the cameraman barely catches Sean getting attacked.

  Like Sean can't even get in the ring in this match it.

  Goes like a super wide shot for some reason.

  Yeah, it's very strange. And they completely botch it

  because Hercules supposedly attacks Sean.

  You can kind of see like the back end of it where he's
• 8:37
  attacking his leg. The the truth is Sean was just
• 8:41
  involved in a motorcycle accident and he busted up his
• 8:44
  knee, so he's unable to compete. But he's literally just dangling
• 8:49
  from the the white rope, the middle white rope outside the
• 8:52
  ring, just like trying to get in.

  Writhing in pain. Oh yeah, I kind of writhing.

  I this to me is my favorite Rockers gear of all time.

  The, the, it's got the neon green, the light blue, the pink,

  the orange, it just screams like 90s wrestling, so.

  Do you know what the interesting part about wrestling in this era

  reference WrestleMania 7 quite a bit because that's such a huge

  road to it. Yeah, and I remember thinking

  this with WrestleMania 7, every bad guy has a manager like, and

  they're they're like that manager managing multiple

  people. They all have stables.

  And it's, it's pretty incredible.

  Maybe that's why I love factions so much.

  But Slick manages these guys. He you know, as usual he gets

  involved. But the the match it has

  potential but it's a two on one match.

  It lasts 6 minutes and Power and Glory are attacking Janetti
• 11:36
  while Slick is distracting the referee multiple times
• 11:39
  throughout it. Michaels is on the outside, you
• 11:42
  know, you get the little bit of a comeback from Marty Janetti,
• 11:45
  but in the end they, the Paul Roma and Hercules warm down.

  They get the victory after performing a Power Plex, the
• 11:53
  superplex from Hercules, followed by a diving splash by
• 11:57
  Paul Roma. And they?

  Prime it perfectly, yeah. Yeah, it's a, it's a sick

  finisher. I I think it's awesome.

  And but this is that every good tag team had a, you know, combo

  finisher, so to speak, right? And this was possibly one of the

  best, if not the best one. They're a great balance too, of

  But like they, they feel like they're different And it really,

  I think it works when they're when they're selling them like

  got the Texas Tornado challenging Mr. Perfect for his

  intercontinental title. So just to to back step and

  backpedal once again. This feud originally started

  because back at the 90 Royal Rumble, we had Mr. Perfect and

  was it 90? Yeah, 1999 Rumble, Mr. Perfect

  and Brutus Beefcake were feuding.

  The beefer? Yeah, your boy.

  That's your boy. Genius is involved in that at

  some point the the two of them also faced at at WrestleMania 6

  as well. Beefcake won that match and then

  Perfect wins the Intercontinental Title back in

  April of 1990 in a tournament he eliminated Beefcakes.

  So they've got like a long feud going on then.

  The only problem is they had matches building up to this in

  the summer at house shows and about a month before on the 4th

  of July the infamous Brutus apartment beefcake injury

  happened. He was going to go over here

  What was it? A knee to the face he took in

  the infamous parasailing accident.
