- 0:54four hundred and fiftieth episode, and to do that, we're presenting in
- 1:00adaptation of a non Philip Marlowe short story by Raymond Chandler. This occurred on
- 1:04the Mulay Mystery Theater. This is actually the second time this story was adapted
- 1:11by That episode is lost. Thankfully, it was so popular it demanded a
- 1:17return, and we're able to bring you that return performance. The original air
- 1:22date is April fifth of nineteen forty six and the title is Murder in the
- 1:27City Hall and No the Mullay Mystery Theater resented by M. L Le Moulay
- 1:40The Heavier Brushless shaving Cream for Tenderskin Good Evening. This is Jeffrey Barnes welcoming
- 2:04you to the program that presents the best in mystery and detective fiction. More
- 2:09than a year ago, we presented on this program a hard hitting detective story
- 2:14entitled Murder in the City Hall. I received many letters from you fans telling
- 2:19me how pleased you were with that story, and I wasn't surprised. But
- 2:23that story was based on a novel att entitled Spanish Blood, written by one
- 2:28of the greatest of the modern mystery writers, Raymond Chandler, author of The
- 2:32Big Sleep and of the recent hit motion picture Murder, My Sweet or Tonight.
- 2:38We're going to repeat that fine story. So here it is Raymond Chandler's
- 2:43Murder in the City Hall. Oh say, mister Barnes, before we get
- 2:46started, let's turn the clock back to hate o'clock this morning. You know,
- 2:51Hate o'clock, the time of morning that lots of men hate because they
- 2:54have to shave. That is, except the man who shaved with Molay,
- 2:58the heavy you brush sh shaving cream. Yes, sir, with Molay,
- 3:02it's smooth, so smooth, It's slake, so slake. It's a smooth,
- 3:09smooth, slack slake shave you get with M. L. E.
- 3:15Molay, the heavier brushless cream for tender skins. That's right, Molay is
- 3:20the shaving cream. That's heavier the cream that's made for a wiry, hard
- 3:23to cut beard or tender skin. Because Molay is heavier, it not only
- 3:28softens your whiskers, it stands them up straighter and lets your razor clip them
- 3:31off close and clean, so you shave faster, closer, easier, and
- 3:37you shave painlessly with Molay, the heavier brushless cream for tender skins. Molay
- 3:46now put Tonight's Molay. Mystery murder in the city Hall down this Carter Simon's
- 4:15the in office and you beat it, Sam bumping off Donaghan, mar boy,
- 4:19Well let's make trouble down at city hall, right Pete. Two months
- 4:23to election and one of the candidates for judges dead as a doornail. We
- 4:27went to school together, Donnie and May carried the torch for the same girl
- 4:31he won. He always did. It's a great guy, here's Sam.
- 4:38We turned down this way. Yeah yeah. Donny Moore was a great guy
- 4:42until I got into politics and he changes got mixed up with the mud.
- 4:46He bought up politics, that's my motto. Something happened to his marriage too,
- 4:50what kind of sour feel sorry for his wife? Belle uh still carrying
- 4:57the torch for us. Sam, Yeah, maybe here we are all right,
- 5:01office saying Lieutenant Sam de la Gara and Pete Marcus of homicide taking over
- 5:05here, sir, here's a body stumped over in his chair with two bullet
- 5:18holes in his chest. Anybody hear the shot? Pete? No, the
- 5:23office is probably soundproof. Who reported the killing? His secretary? She went
- 5:27to lunch in all early today, and when she came back she found this
- 5:30and phoned the police and Mar's wife. Where's she now? The secretary?
- 5:33They sent her home. She was getting hysterical. Look, Pete, here's
- 5:36a gun in his hands. Hmm, only it hasn't been used, probably
- 5:43his own. Won't see any empty shells anyplace? Sam, whoever did it
- 5:46must have been smart enough to pick up the shells. Here's this appointment pan.
- 5:53If somebody named imlay was due here at twelve fifteen, it's one point
- 5:58thirty. Now, who's in my Wait a minute, sure there's an assistant
- 6:01DA named him lay On, big boss, masters take it running for judge
- 6:04against mar Sam, You don't think I don't know what to think yet?
- 6:12You take a look at this writing on the pad. Hmm pretty shaky,
- 6:15isn't it? Very shaky, just as Hello, boy, that's know mister
- 6:20Carner. All right, dad, Well, well an important stiff this time.
- 6:26Yes, well, let's see what we can make of it. Two
- 6:31slugs, ay, small ones looked like about twenty five caliber a lady's gun.
- 6:38Ain't close to the heart but not touching. Must have died about an
- 6:43hour ago, about twelve thirty, maybe a minute or two after he was
- 6:46shot. You don't have to be so cheerful about it. Hey, here
- 6:49they are. What's the missing shells? The murderer hit them in the Huma
- 6:53door. They're under some cigar butts. Let's see them. Yep, just
- 6:56as I thought, twenty five caliber shells from a small gun, like maybe
- 7:00a woman. Would you? I got it? Hello? Oh oh yes,
- 7:06Commissioner, This Lieutenant Pete Marcus. Yeah, uh no, nobody's been
- 7:13here with the corner all everything is you get a sure thing? No,
- 7:18no, printer, cameraman, Not only me and Sam Della Ghera. Yeah,
- 7:24Oh yes, sir, he's Sam. The commissioner wants to talk to
- 7:26you. Hello, Commissioner. Sure what am I doing on a case?
- 7:34Well? I was just standing around. They sent me over. I'm sure
- 7:42I knew don anymore, But it didn't room with him. Okay, Commissioner,
- 7:49you're the boss right away, Pete, You've got to take care of
- 7:57things. So the commissioner gets here me, what about you? He's ordered
- 8:01me to take a run up to Mar's cabin at Puma Lake. Don't tell
- 8:05anybody only I'm calling on Donnie's wife first. What's the idea of sending you
- 8:09off like this? My guess is that he doesn't want me working on this
- 8:13case. Oh hello, mister Sam. My, sure as good you came.
- 8:33How many. I'm sorry about what's happened, but I got to see
- 8:37missus Maher right away. Oh sure, I'll come on in, sir.
- 8:41No reporters yet, Oh no, sir, nobody ain't been here yet,
- 8:46only the commissioner. He just phoned about five minutes ago. The commissioner phoned
- 8:50here. Why yes, mister Sam. What'd he say? Well, I
- 8:52don't rightly know, mister Sam. He talked to missus Marr and she ain't
- 8:56said a word even to me ever since she heard off news. She just
- 9:01stands around like she's day. Well, I'll go on into her and don't
- 9:05talk to anybody. Many don't say anything. Hello Bell, Sam, Sam,
- 9:16I don't know what to say. It's also terrible. I know Donnie
- 9:20was in a tough racket Bell and when you play with fun killed him.
- 9:22Sam, that's the important thing. Have you any idea? Well, there
- 9:26might be one suspect, a man or woman, a man, somebody connected
- 9:31with a Master's gang. Donnie was running against. What's this rotten city government
- 9:35coming to Bell? Are you really so sorry Donnie's killed? Why do you
- 9:39ask that? I want to know. Yes, yes, I am sorry,
- 9:45Sam, I really am. I didn't think I could be, but
- 9:50now that he's dead, I knew something went wrong between you two. Donny
- 9:54had been running around with a fast crowd other women. I'd rather not talk
- 9:56about it. Just what you're saying? Uh? What did the commissioner just
- 10:01say? Do you want the phone? Oh? How do you know?
- 10:03He calls, let's not go under that bell? What do you say?
- 10:07Well, it seems that a man named Emily, one of Donnie's opponents in
- 10:11the election, had been mixed up with a nightclub singer called Stella la Motte.
- 10:16The commissioner found some other sensational pictures of Emily and Stella and Donnie's desk
- 10:20draw what why he's crazy, Pete and I look, we never saw any
- 10:24pictures. The commissioner thinks Donnie was trying to blackmail Emily and withdrawing from the
- 10:28race. Evidently he and Donnie had quite a row and Emily beat him to
- 10:33the draw. Do you believe that? Though? I don't know what to
- 10:39believe. Do you want me to do anything about this? Oh? I
- 10:45do, Sam, I do. Donnie's eyes stare at me from the walls.
- 10:50How about giving me the keys? Was cabin up a Puma Lake?
- 10:52Why I've been ordered to go up there and look around? Certainly, Sam,
- 10:56you can have the keys. But wait just a moment. I'm going
- 11:01with you. You know what I think Bell sending me up to Puma Lake
- 11:13to get me out of the way down there? Who oh? The commissioner
- 11:16and behind him Boss Masters seem Do you think big Boss Masters might have had
- 11:20Donny que Oh no, Bell, that doesn't add up. Why not?
- 11:24Because Masters would never have allowed em Lay to become involved in such a thing.
- 11:28Em Lay was running on Master's ticket. Well, then you don't think
- 11:30Imlay is the murderer. I don't know. Oh, it might be just
- 11:33what the commissioner says. It is a quarrel over those pictures of Imlay and
- 11:37Stella La Mott. After all, Donnie might have threatened a blackmail Imlay.
- 11:41Donnie's done a lot of things lately. I haven't been proud of. Oh.
- 11:45Here we are at the Cavin see a lonely little place. Uh.
- 11:50When was Donnie up here last? I don't know. He was always coming
- 11:54up here for conferences. He said he was coming here. Well those around
- 11:58it, but see what I can find. I come along with you.
- 12:01No, no, you wait here in the car. You can turn on
- 12:03the radio if you like. I'll be right back. Take it easy,
- 12:07kin, calm down, I'll be all right. Interrupt this program to bring
- 12:31you the latest bulletin on the city hall murder of Donegan Mar. The police
- 12:33are now working on the theory that Mar was killed in a quarrel resulting from
- 12:37pressure which he was putting on his rival, assistant District Attorney Imlay, in
- 12:41order to force his withdrawal from the coming municipal election. A warrant has been
- 12:46issued for the arrest of Imlay, but at present Lay's whereabouts are unknown.
- 12:50Keep tune to the station for further bulletins. Come on, Belle, We're
- 13:01getting back to town. You find anything, So let's get going and i'll
- 13:05tell you on the way. You did find something you can't tell about the
- 13:11espression on your face. Yes, Bell, something I wasn't supposed to find.
- 13:16What a dead man? A bullet through his temple? Yeah? Who
- 13:20is it? Yeah? And he's been dead for hours at least since last
- 13:26night. But Donny was killed this morning. That means Imlay couldn't have killed
- 13:31Donnie exactly. Then who did? That's what I'm gonna find out as the
- 13:48curtain falls on Act. Well enough, tonight's bole a mystery. It looks
- 13:52as though mar and don't stand much chance of being elected. Now, well,
- 13:58thank you, mister c Well, mister Barnes, would you believe it
- 14:01if I told you that there are plenty of men who'd be willing to change
- 14:03places with either of them? Well almost anyway. For instance, there's the
- 14:09fellow who'd sooner be shot at than shave, And say, man, if
- 14:13that's how you feel about shaving, chances are you have wiry whiskers or a
- 14:18tender skin. So try Molay, the heavier brushly shaving cream for tender skins.
- 14:24Molay gives you a shave as smooth as sailing, as slick as a
- 14:26whistle. Yes, Molay is a heavier cream, the cream that not only
- 14:31softens your whiskers, but holds them up straight as corn stalks while your razor
- 14:35cuts them down quickly, easily. With Molay, you shave faster, closer,
- 14:41easier, and you shave painlessly. Try it. See if you don't
- 14:46say it's smooth, so smooth, it's like sol slack. It's a smooth,
- 14:54smooth, slick slake shave you get with M L L. Molay,
- 15:00the heavier brushley shaving cream for tender skins. Molay. Now Here is Jeffrey
- 15:07Barnes and act too of murder in the city Hall. Young police Lieutenant Sam
- 15:20Della Ghera suspects that the city's political machine is behind the murder of his old
- 15:26friend Donaghan Mar. The police believe that the machine, candidate for the judge
- 15:30ship, a man named Imlay, committed the killing and self defense, but
- 15:33Donaghera knows Imlay could not possibly have killed Donaghan Mar. Now he returns to
- 15:39police headquarters. Hi, man, good thing, you're back already. The
- 15:43commissioner wants to see it, and I want to see him too. It
- 15:48was impede. But you and Marr's office when those stell of them photographs were
- 15:50found. Yeah, but I didn't find him. The commissioner did. Did
- 15:54you see him find him? No? But I don't think he planted him.
- 15:58If that's what you mean, that's exactly what I meant. Now.
- 16:02Look, mar is murdered, So the voters are going to think Big John
- 16:04Masters had him killed because he was giving the political machine a run for the
- 16:08money. You don't think that, do you, Sam? No? I
- 16:11don't. But even if the killing had no political meaning, Masters in his
- 16:15machine would have the cream is killing hup Fast or else. And if they
- 16:18can pin the killing on Emaly the cases of Cinch, then Masters gets all
- 16:22the votes. How do you figure that Master's and the commissioner killing on imaly
- 16:27a get it? But they do it. So what looks like more was
- 16:30blackmailing him. So Mars a villain and Imlay is practically a hero because he
- 16:34shot him self defense. Good Lord, Sam, you don't that's the way
- 16:37they've doped it. Commissioner, Ah the evening Commissioner, out of my office
- 16:45here, I want to talk to you. Find anything of it, Pilma
- 16:49Lake, I wasn't supposed to this. There's no time to be making cracks.
- 16:53You're on the carpet. What's up? You didn't do a very good
- 16:57job of at Mar's office is morning? You said you went over it,
- 17:03yet you fail to find the photographs Mar had in his desk. So you
- 17:04walk in and find him immediate And when I order you up to Puma Lake,
- 17:11you stop buying, pick up mars widow and take her along with you.
- 17:14Words certainly gets around fast, doesn't it. What's wrong with my taking
- 17:17this and Mar up there? Never mind? Trouble with you, Delagera is
- 17:21that you're always too quick on the trigger, too fast on the pick up
- 17:25your own good. That doesn't fit in with what the department expects of you.
- 17:30I suppose you're trying to say that you want my bad. That's right,
- 17:34okay, there it is. You're being suspended for hearing Delaghara and the
- 17:41lay off the Mark case. That's it, isn't it? There is a
- 17:42Mar case. Emay has admitted the shooting through his attorney claim self defense.
- 17:48The surrender of the Morning admits the murder. Yes, my advice to use
- 17:56to relax of it. Stop trying to blame everything on the political machine in
- 17:59the city. Pay a little more attention of being a good cop. That's
- 18:03a trouble commissioner. There's a good cop. I can add up a few
- 18:06things I know about this case, and they don't make sense, but I
- 18:10can promise you one thing. The killer of Dornigan More isn't going to get
- 18:12off unpunished. Yeah, who's there? It's me Sam dellagera. Hello,
- 18:41Joey Okay Copper, come in. What do you want? I got one
- 18:49hundred dollars for you? He's saying, Christmas. Why you know a girl
- 18:56named Stella Lamont? I don't know, I might or do you ought to?
- 19:03Stella Lamart's only her stage name. Her real name Stella Chill. She's
- 19:08your sister, So what what about her? An assistant da named in Lay.
- 19:12Nothing. You better talk fast, Joy, You're gonna be sorry.
- 19:15Stella's accused of the killing of Donnie mar She never even knew Mark. She
- 19:19didn't know him Lay, But what's wrong with that? She was playing him
- 19:23for a shakedown? Yeah, tell me more. Stella and a guy named
- 19:27Teribo were working together on it. He puts Stelle up to it, so
- 19:32she puts some drops in Mlay's liquor, and he passed out. Then she
- 19:36and Tibo set up those pictures. She put an arm around his neck and
- 19:40put a buttler liquor in his hand. And just like a dame, she
- 19:44gets scared and spills the whole thing to me. Why she gets scared?
- 19:48She got to like him lay she was afraid Toribo might rub him out.
- 19:52So I followed Taribo. I live in a shudder. After a while,
- 19:56I trailed him to Big John Master's apartment. I see, I get my
- 20:00hundred bucks. That listens good so far? Uh what do you make of
- 20:07the Jolley? Only that Stella didn't kill ma Em, I must have done
- 20:10it. Where can I find Stella? I think maybe she's left time just
- 20:15like I'm gonna do. It ain't healthy for me, and it's not Get
- 20:19your hands up over your head, both of you. Don't look this weight
- 20:22copper, keep your back turned. No, No, what do you want?
- 20:45I don't know you. That's why I'm here to Rebel. I want
- 20:47to get acquainted with you. She'll like, come in. Why not?
- 20:51You're halfway in already. Well, a nice little place you got here to
- 20:56Reboom must be in the money. You come here just to admire my apartment.
- 21:03Oh but I might as well as long as I'm here. Who are
- 21:06you anyway? Take a look at my back? You ever see it before?
- 21:11From a broken window? What's the matter? You nuts? You've been
- 21:15out of here in the last half hour? Who cares you've been doing any
- 21:17shooting? Toribo with a stool pigeon named Joey. Chill, No, Joey,
- 21:22don't tell me. Joey's all right, little girl? Who are you?
- 21:25Shut up, Stella and get back in the other room. I'm Stella,
- 21:30I'm Joey's sister. Don't tell me he's been killed. Twenty minutes ago.
- 21:37He was telling me all about But how do I keep that copper quiet?
- 21:45Tribol? What do you know about Joey being killed? What do you
- 21:49mean? What do I know? Who killed him? How do I know?
- 21:53You've got to talk faster, Ebel. You've got to tell me where
- 21:57you were a half hour. Well, shut up, Stella, get on
- 22:00the phone and get masters here in a hurry. This is Deffrey Bonds again.
- 22:15In just a moment, we'll return you to Act three of Murder in
- 22:18the City Hall. Here's something for Dandriff sufferers to keep in mind. Most
- 22:23ordinary hair preparations are no more effective for combating dandriff than plain water is,
- 22:27or they merely do what plain water does, that is remove loose dandriff.
- 22:32But a scientific product called double dandurine does more. It actually works where most
- 22:37ordinary hair preparations fail or double danderine kills the germs that many outstanding authorities contend
- 22:42are a cause of a common type of dandriff. Yes, and it actually
- 22:47kills these germs on contact. Now. The amazing effectiveness of double danderine is
- 22:52due to a special ingredient called al zan an active antiseptics, so remarkably efficient
- 22:56that many hospitals use it, And among hair preparations, double dandreene and double
- 23:02danderene alone has it. So try double danderene and see if you don't agree
- 23:07that most ordinary air preparations can't compare with its dandruff combating effectiveness. If you're
- 23:11not satisfied, return the empty bottle and get your money back, buy double
- 23:17dandreene at your druggists. Look, mister masters, he's coming too pretty tough,
- 23:34Lieutenant, isn't hebo too tough for his own good? Come on,
- 23:38Coper sit up here. Well, quite a reception. Plus Masters is himself,
- 23:48that's the idea. All right, No, and I'll do the asking.
- 23:52What do you want coming here to Ribo's apartment? I was looking for
- 23:56Stella LaMotte. I want to find out who killed Donny. Mare wants her
- 24:00to find out Himley has confessor is attorney that he killed. Why hasn't he
- 24:03appeared and made his own confession? We expect him to do that there.
- 24:07Only he won't because he's dead, lying flat on his face in that cabin
- 24:12up at Puma Lake himily dead? He can and once more, he was
- 24:18dead before Mar was killed. He couldn't have killed Mar? Well, the
- 24:22girl, what you say is sure? Emily probably went up to talk with
- 24:26Mar as soon as he got one of those pictures you had to rebo fake.
- 24:30Why wouldn't he when he went to see Mar last night and not this
- 24:33morning? Must have got into a fight and Emily got killed? You mean
- 24:37Mark killed him? Who else could have done it up there? And who
- 24:41killed Mar? Yeah? Who killed Mar? How about it? Master?
- 24:45Oh? Why should I have mar murder? You must have had those pictures
- 24:49of Stella here planted in mars desk. All right, we did plant those
- 24:56pictures. We had to do that. Only now now it won't work because
- 25:00Himlay is dead. Tell a girl, I'll pay you five grand if you
- 25:04can find me the murder of Imaly. How much do you know about the
- 25:07case? Several things. First, Mar evidently got a fake phone call from
- 25:12someone making an appointment for Imlay at twelve fifteen to day. Now that must
- 25:17have scared Mar if he knew he had killed Imlay the night before. So
- 25:21what could he do under the circumstances. I stall, of course, send
- 25:25his office girl off the lunch, put his gun where he could reach it
- 25:26in a hurry, be all set for trouble. And when his twelve fifteen
- 25:30visitor arrived, he got his gun out, but he didn't use it.
- 25:36So what I'm not sure yet, But Mar was no slouch with a gun,
- 25:41and he was on edge. He was all set. Why didn't he
- 25:45shoot? Where? Because there was a woman who called on him? A
- 25:49woman you mean Stella here because she loved Himlay, even though she started to
- 25:55frame him. Were you dirty? No? I didn't kill Mar. Come
- 25:59on, Stella talk. You must have known that Mar was gonna blackmail your
- 26:03boyfriend. Are you loud? This is for you, Terribo. You killed
- 26:08Joey? Why you little Stella? Thank got him? Didn't I? I
- 26:26don't mind kicking off myself. Oh my, yes, you got to believe
- 26:34me when I say I didn't kill more. Somebody else did that job.
- 26:57Oh hello, mister Sam Many Christmas Mark in the other room. She just
- 27:03sits in there and okay, okay, Sam, I've been waiting and waiting.
- 27:12What what's happened? Stella Lamar just killed a skunk for the name of
- 27:17Teribo. Face is officially closed. I guess pen Donnie's murder on Teribo somehow,
- 27:23I'll be an inquest. Of course, investigations plus a lot of people
- 27:27shooting their miles off the morning on the publicity. The papers will play it
- 27:32up big for a while, but as far as the police are concerned,
- 27:36the case is tied up in a pack. Oh Sam, I'm so glad
- 27:38it's all over. Yes, I mean, I'm pretty sure now a woman
- 27:44really killed Donnie. A woman, yes, but they'll never know who one
- 27:52of those women he'd been running around with. Maybe what makes you think a
- 27:56woman killed him? Because he was shot with a small gun. Such a
- 28:00woman might use, Sam, That doesn't prove it with a woman. No,
- 28:03not exactly, but for a while I was sure Stella la Motte might
- 28:07have killed him. But she didn't. No, I'm positive of that.
- 28:11The dying words to me tonight were that she didn't kill don and you believed
- 28:17her? Oh the time? How could you take the word believe Belle?
- 28:19The caliber of her gun didn't match the shells I found in Donnie's office.
- 28:26Then on my way here, I began adding up all the clues. Then
- 28:30you know who killed Donnie. Donnie didn't die right away, Belle. The
- 28:36coroner said that Donnie had nerve. He tried to protect someone, someone very
- 28:42close to him, Belle. And the writing on his appointment pad was pretty
- 28:47shaky. He must have written him Lay's name on the pad afterwards, when
- 28:51he was alone and dying. Maybe Donnie was sorry how he had treated you,
- 28:59Belle. Anyway he wanted to shield you. Oh all right, Sam.
- 29:07It was the horrible kind of women he went around with. I was
- 29:11dead, but I had to stop down telling I like the cases it stands
- 29:14now, nobody will ever figure out who killed Donnie. I'll get my police
- 29:18job back, all right, And you Bell, you're gonna do what Donnie
- 29:26wanted you to do. Do what Sam. You're gonna suffer, Aready.
- 29:30I don't want You're going to suffer the way Johnny wanted you to suffer.
- 29:36You're going right on living with a memory of how you killed him until you've
- 29:40really paid hard way. No, Sam, I'm not I couldn't bear that.
- 29:49I'll give myself up. Okay, Bell, that's get going. And
- 30:08now this is Jeffrey Barnes again inviting you to be with us next week when
- 30:12we present the greatest modern mystery classic of them all, Emlyn Williams's famous play
- 30:17and motion picture Night Must Fall, and as guest star, Miss Virginia Field,
- 30:22star of the Broadway hip Dough Girls and the motion picture Waterloo Bridge.
- 30:26Now this is dan Seymour saying good night until next Friday at the same time,
- 30:30when the Mystery Theater presents Night Must Fall. Tonight's Mystery Theater presentation came
- 30:48to you from Radio City in New York. This is NBC, the National
- 30:52Broadcasting Company. Welcome back. A very interesting stories that was adapted, as
- 31:07they said, from the Raymond Chandler story Spanish Blood. And actually in the
- 31:14short story it ends with Sam making the conclusion she didn't end up going in
- 31:21to confess, and other than that, though an interesting story, and it
- 31:30was not the first time that Raymond Chandler was adapted. The series also adapted
- 31:37The Big Sleep, the Philip Marlon novel, as well as the short story
- 31:41Goldfish, but both of those episodes are lost. The Big Sleep would really
- 31:47be hard to give justice to in a half hour adaptation, but I would
- 31:52love if the adaptation of Goldfish were uncovered, because that was a really good
- 31:57story. It's almost as good as Win, not quite, but pretty close.
- 32:01Well. I hope you've enjoyed the celebration of one thousand, four hundred
- 32:06and fifty episodes. Thanks so much to everyone for listening and supporting the show
- 32:09throughout the year. We'll be back on Monday with the Saint, and then
- 32:14be sure and join us again on Wednesday for the adventures of Philip Marlowe.
