- 0:00Hello there. How do you know what God has prioritized for you?
- 0:04Is your will aligned with His?
- 0:07Sometimes we do all the right things. We work hard and we pray hard.
- 0:10We expect that what we're doing isn't God's will, because it seems to be aligned
- 0:15in theory, helping others, serving, being selfless.
- 0:20Have you been there? I'm going through one of those mornings of confusion.
- 0:24I am blessed in being drawn in so many directions. I have a family that relies
- 0:29on my ability as a homemaker. I have a job that allows me to grow my skills
- 0:34in the corporate world. I have dogs that keep me fully occupied and engaged.
- 0:38And I have a church family that I commit my time to. All these are good.
- 0:43But I have only so many hours in the day, and I have to make choices.
- 0:49So, David came to my rescue, and I prayed.
- 0:52Quote, O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
- 0:57You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You discern my thoughts from afar.
- 1:03You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
- 1:09Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.
- 1:16Psalm 139 verses 1-4 The first step was to ensure that this was not ego-driven.
- 1:25Then, I ran my priority list through the Christian lens.
- 1:29The order of priority, 1. God, 2. Spouse, 3. Kids, 4. Work, 5. Community.
- 1:37There are some definite must-dos in the list and definite wish I had time for
- 1:41in the list, and I realized God wants me to have fun.
- 1:45Quote, I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice and to do good
- 1:51in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor.
- 1:58It is the gift of God. End quote.
- 2:02Ecclesiastes. Chapter 3, verses 12 and 13.
- 2:07So I penciled in time for unwinding as well. Just like that,
- 2:11my to-dos for the day became easier, and my little heart found comfort in the words of Ezra.
- 2:18Quote, Arise, for this matter is your responsibility.
- 2:23We also are with you. Be of good courage and do it.
- 2:28End quote. Ezra, chapter 10, verse 4.
- 2:33It is hard to know if we are on the right path, but our job is to put one foot
- 2:38in front of the other, seeking out the light and hanging on to the outstretched arm of God.
- 2:43He wants to be there every step of our way, miserable or happy. So let's go.
- 2:49Dear God, as I embark on all these tasks laid on my heart, please help me navigate
- 2:56according to your will, glorifying you and doing the best I can.
- 3:01Your love carries me through and I hope that your voice is the loudest in my head today.
- 3:07Grant me the humility to lift you up in everything I handle.
- 3:11In your name I pray, Jesus. Amen.
