- 0:00Speaker 1: Some present just where it ends.
- 0:03Speaker 2: For all, court is where it begins.
- 0:09Speaker 3: This is the real world, and this is what's happening
- 0:14Speaker 3: at the courthouse.
- 0:15Speaker 1: On KFM Mornings with Ramis.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Okay, So at the CBD yesterday, Remise Cohn asking everybody
- 0:24Speaker 4: one simple question, this is what's happening at the courthouse.
- 0:30Speaker 1: What are you doing at the courthouse today?
- 0:33Speaker 3: My child's father gave me on to see his child
- 0:35Speaker 3: more often.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Okay, So obviously you guys are divorced or were.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You were you not married? What was the situation we
- 0:43Speaker 1: were not married? Okay, obviously he came here for visiting nights.
- 0:46Speaker 5: But then you told me he doesn't even see his
- 0:49Speaker 5: child when it's he's done for to visit or to
- 0:52Speaker 5: pick the to the child up.
- 0:54Speaker 1: So what's the deal there?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the agreement between the two of us
- 0:57Speaker 3: all along that he has the right to saist out
- 1:00Speaker 3: every second weekend, but he never features his child every
- 1:03Speaker 3: second weekend. And then he went and he gave me
- 1:05Speaker 3: on to see his child every second weekend.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But this doesn't make sense.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Well, the judge also spoken, the cheslse said why didn't
- 1:15Speaker 3: you feature child every second weekend when there was agreement,
- 1:17Speaker 3: and he said he never had time to feature his child.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So then why come here to the to the court
- 1:22Speaker 1: and waste the court's time.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I don't know, because that's what he also said, This
- 1:26Speaker 3: is the loss is coming to court. So I don't
- 1:28Speaker 3: know why he wasted his time. There was agreement and
- 1:30Speaker 3: it's sorted out now. So he's got the right now
- 1:33Speaker 3: to see his child every second weekend like the Chelse
- 1:35Speaker 3: saity has to follow it now, but we will watch it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We will see. Is it your daughter? Your son? My daughter?
- 1:41Speaker 5: She's nine, okay, so she's she's growing up.
- 1:44Speaker 3: But she loves her father. She mustn't seem so she
- 1:46Speaker 3: wants to see him. So I don't know why he
- 1:48Speaker 3: gave me on in the first place. Don't really communicate
- 1:51Speaker 3: with each other, talk to each other a lot?
- 1:54Speaker 1: And does he provide for his child?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Yes, that's correct. There's a order for that as well.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Oh okay, I'm strictly fromably sell it.
- 2:01Speaker 5: So they do like a cornishe that's good cornishing order?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Oh that's interesting. I've never heard of that before.
- 2:07Speaker 5: But okay, I hope that he's able to then sort
- 2:10Speaker 5: of adhere to the court.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But what are you going to be doing.
- 2:13Speaker 3: If he doesn't, why I would be happy if he doesn't,
- 2:16Speaker 3: because it is me time with my child and she
- 2:19Speaker 3: grows up seeing that the father is the problem.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Thank you very much for your time. Man, Okay, thank you,
- 2:24Speaker 1: all right? What are you doing at the courthouse today?
- 2:27Speaker 6: He actually support my son. He's been a heroin addict
- 2:31Speaker 6: for over twenty years. We couldn't anymore with him, and
- 2:38Speaker 6: he became homeless. We did help him with staying at shelters,
- 2:44Speaker 6: et cetera. He maintained his job. He carried on with
- 2:50Speaker 6: his heroine. He's an amazing person and he's the best
- 2:55Speaker 6: gone artist you've ever found. Yeah, I know just how
- 3:00Speaker 6: to control your brain, you know, with extra money, et cetera,
- 3:04Speaker 6: et cetera. He then robbed the workplace. Oh yep, with
- 3:12Speaker 6: iPads and laptops and over one hundred thousand men's worth.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So how do you How are you homeless and you
- 3:19Speaker 1: have a job. He kept his job. That's how good
- 3:22Speaker 1: he was.
- 3:23Speaker 6: He was. He was brilliant. He is brilliant. The addiction
- 3:30Speaker 6: took over. They had him arrested. He had mostly told
- 3:34Speaker 6: him I did it. He swindled keys to the premises,
- 3:39Speaker 6: He waited till everybody was off duty, and it was
- 3:43Speaker 6: after twelve at night. He did sell the stuff and
- 3:46Speaker 6: then he was planning on leaving it for his daughter
- 3:49Speaker 6: and just ending his life. That's where he was. A
- 3:54Speaker 6: week later he was arrested at work. And he's been
- 3:57Speaker 6: in Paulsmerth since Good Friday. That's a while now, Yeah, yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 6: it's a long time already. I don't want to go
- 4:05Speaker 6: into what happens at Pole's. You know that place is terrible.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Did you visit him there? Yes, as often as.
- 4:13Speaker 6: We can versus take food, take clothes, every time, just
- 4:17Speaker 6: gets stolen. Oh yeah, No, he's had a terrible experience.
- 4:21Speaker 1: There and yeah, not good. Do you think he's going
- 4:25Speaker 1: to turn his life around?
- 4:27Speaker 6: I would hope, so, I would hope. So. I think
- 4:31Speaker 6: this was God's intervention. It was either his life or
- 4:35Speaker 6: I've got something more planned for.
- 4:37Speaker 1: You've got to fight his way out there in pulse.
- 4:40Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not for softies, and he is a softie.
- 4:45Speaker 6: He's a big eye, but he's not a fighter and
- 4:48Speaker 6: things like that. If you want issues taken, it's fine,
- 4:51Speaker 6: yeah that kind of thing. Look, I know he's going
- 4:53Speaker 6: to be sentenced. Unfortunately, he has realized this is not.
- 5:00Speaker 1: This is not where he wants to be in life.
- 5:04Speaker 1: It's the hardest thing.
- 5:05Speaker 6: I think as a mother, you all always be there
- 5:08Speaker 6: for your child. I can't say the same for the brothers.
- 5:12Speaker 6: They very peed off with him, and.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Oh his siblings.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I've been a long track that he hasn't
- 5:19Speaker 6: been caught before.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It is a miracle. Also, he's done this this kind
- 5:24Speaker 1: of thing before without being caught.
- 5:25Speaker 6: Not stealing, but I mean he's used to steal from us,
- 5:28Speaker 6: and he used to steal o Lord from anybody that
- 5:32Speaker 6: he knew or went into a house. He was so
- 5:34Speaker 6: quick with it, and he denied everything and they manipulated.
- 5:40Speaker 1: That's what it is. And it's the drug's talking.
- 5:43Speaker 6: It's not them talking. It's that need for the drug.
- 5:48Speaker 6: And it's so available everywhere. You've got no idea. I
- 5:52Speaker 6: mean I used to go into areas that you don't
- 5:56Speaker 6: want to know of looking for my child. Oh yeah
- 6:00Speaker 6: that the people in those areas, extra stores, you know me,
- 6:03Speaker 6: and like, oh, yes, mama looking for him.
- 6:05Speaker 1: He has mama for him, Yes, mama looking for him.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Yeah that's about all. You look tired.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I am.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm stressed out and normal, Thank you very much for
- 6:22Speaker 1: your time, and it's been a pleasure. I feel really
- 6:25Speaker 1: sorry for that moment.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Sure you can hear, she's been through it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: This is the last thing.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Maybe this will fix him, maybe it won't. And I
- 6:32Speaker 4: get the siblings because they've seen what it's done to mom,
- 6:36Speaker 4: and it's hard to wreck this whole family. So many
- 6:39Speaker 4: stories you.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Hear, and it makes sense now that addiction is a
- 6:43Speaker 2: family disease because the weight of it rests on not
- 6:49Speaker 2: only the addict, but you know, their support system, the
- 6:52Speaker 2: emotional financial toll.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Like Ram you said that Auntie looks tired.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but she will do whatever she needs to do
- 7:01Speaker 1: for her baby.
- 7:02Speaker 4: And what happens is the things from the family home
- 7:05Speaker 4: start to go missing to buy and then it when
- 7:08Speaker 4: there's nothing left. Then it's the neighbor, and then it's
- 7:10Speaker 4: all over.
- 7:10Speaker 6: You know.
- 7:11Speaker 4: They say that the difference between an alcoholic and a
- 7:15Speaker 4: drug addict. An alcoholic will steal your an alcoholic will
- 7:20Speaker 4: steal your wallet. A drug addict will steal your wallet
- 7:24Speaker 4: and then help you look for it.
