- 0:00Hello and welcome to the Everyday Eurasia podcast,
- 0:04Inspiring Faith for Every Day. Each day we are on a journey
- 0:08with Jesus in our churches, our homes, our workplaces, and in so
- 0:13many different places around the world.
- 0:16Is it beautiful that no matter where we are, we can walk with
- 0:20him every single day? Jesus is the one who connects us
- 0:24all and stands at the very center of our lives day after
- 0:28day. Through this podcast, you'll
- 0:30hear voices from across the region sharing devotionals that
- 0:34reminds us of God's presence in our everyday moments.
- 0:43This week, we're joined by Tammy Bowsa.
- 0:45Originally from Argentina, Tammy grew up in Paraguay and
- 0:49Mozambique, where her parents served.
- 0:51Through the Church of the Nazarene, she studied
- 0:53intercultural studies, earned her MBA, and later served with
- 0:57Nazarene Compassionate Ministries in Jordan, working
- 1:00with local and refugee students. Since May 2025, she has served
- 1:06as the Regional NMI Coordinator for Eurasia.
- 1:09We are grateful to have Timmy with us this week as she shares
- 1:12about the five NMI priorities. Hi, this is Tammy.
- 1:19So yesterday we were talking about the first area of impact,
- 1:22which was prayer. Today we will talk about the
- 1:25second area of impact, which is engaging children and youth.
- 1:31We believe that the mission of God is for all ages, that God
- 1:35wants all of us to be involved in his mission, and that He
- 1:38wants all of us to learn about missions and missionaries and
- 1:42what the church is doing all around the world.
- 1:46First let's read 2 passages. So the first one is found in
- 1:50Matthew 1914 and it says, let the little children come to me
- 1:57and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to
- 2:01such as these. So in this passage we can see
- 2:05that God wants us to be involved in his Kingdom, that the Kingdom
- 2:10of heaven belongs to such as these, to the ones that are like
- 2:16children. So it's important from a young
- 2:19age to include children and learning about missions, that
- 2:23they know that they can be part of the mission of God and that
- 2:27God loves them and has a place for them as well and his
- 2:32mission. So there is a tool that is very
- 2:37helpful that can help you educate kids about missions.
- 2:43So NMI every Wednesday releases NMI Central.
- 2:49NMI Central is open to every single age and it shares about
- 2:55what God is doing in one area of the world.
- 2:57It shares a story, prayer requests, praises, and every
- 3:01first Wednesday of the month, it also releases Kids Kaleidoscope
- 3:07with the story that they're sharing that day in NMI Central.
- 3:11Kids Kaleidoscope. It's a children's activity that
- 3:15educates about missions about that specific country that the
- 3:20NMI Central is releasing that day.
- 3:22It can also educate about NCM Nazarene Compassion Ministries.
- 3:26It can educate about different ministries of the church,
- 3:30Alabama, educating children that they can be part of the mission
- 3:34of God. So this is a great way that you
- 3:38can educate children in Sunday school or in a special missions
- 3:42activity about missions. So to register for NMI Central,
- 3:48you just need to go to nazrin.org, select NMI, and then
- 3:53click on NMI Central. There will be a space that you
- 3:57can put your e-mail address and then they will send you Enemy
- 4:01Central every Wednesday. You can also find this in
- 4:05Spanish, in Portuguese and other languages as well.
- 4:10So please sign up and let's continue to involve children in
- 4:13learning about missions. And the second passage is found
- 4:17in first Timothy 412 and it says don't let anyone look down on
- 4:23you because you are young, but set an example for the believers
- 4:28in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.
- 4:34So we believe that it's important to involve youth in
- 4:37the mission of God. So if your church is planning to
- 4:40do a mission strip, please include your young people also
- 4:45in your enemy council or invite missionaries to come and share
- 4:49with your youth. It's important for young people
- 4:52to hear about the calling of God, and they can also be called
- 4:56to be in His missions. We don't know where God will
- 5:01call us. So I was called at a very young
- 5:04age. My calling started actually when
- 5:07I was a child, and I got confirmed several times when I
- 5:11was a teenager. When I attended a teens camp in
- 5:14Brazil, God confirmed what my calling was.
- 5:18And I know that God can continue to use different church events,
- 5:22mission trips, and other things to confirm the calling of young
- 5:27people. So let's give room for children
- 5:30and youth to learn about missions and be involved in
- 5:33missions because God wants every single age to be involved in His
- 5:40mission. Thank you for all that you're
- 5:43doing and including young people and children in Enemy.
- 5:48God is at work in every generation, and He will continue
- 5:53to be at work in every generation.
- 5:55God bless you. Now let me pray for us, God.
- 6:00We give you thanks for all the children and young people that
- 6:05you have allowed us to walk next to.
- 6:09Please guide us as we teach them about your mission, about
- 6:13missions all around the world, and help us to find creative
- 6:17ways that we can educate them about what you're doing and that
- 6:22we can allow them to be part of it.
- 6:25Give us creativity and new ideas of own ways that we can serve
- 6:31you better with every generation from the Church, with the
- 6:36adults, the young people, and the children.
- 6:40May we all work together for your Kingdom.
- 6:43In your name we pray. Amen.
