- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work, notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and story, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. Now, if
- 1:11Speaker 1: you miss a portion of today's broadcast or would like
- 1:13Speaker 1: to recommend it to a friend, you can hear this
- 1:16Speaker 1: program anytime online at Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now
- 1:21Speaker 1: here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:23Speaker 2: For though we walk in the plesh, we do not
- 1:27Speaker 2: war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our
- 1:30Speaker 2: warfare are not carnival, but mighty in God, for pulling
- 1:35Speaker 2: down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that
- 1:41Speaker 2: exalts it sell against the knowledge of God, bringing every
- 1:46Speaker 2: thought into captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ. Second
- 1:53Speaker 2: Current ends chapter ten and verses three two five. We
- 1:58Speaker 2: will entitle this segment of war and victory the Christian
- 2:04Speaker 2: fight of faith. Know your enemy You see, we just
- 2:09Speaker 2: read that our warfare is not with flesh and blood.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We don't fight in the same manner because our enemy
- 2:21Speaker 2: is not the flesh and blood enemy. In other words,
- 2:24Speaker 2: our enemy is not the man, or the neighbor, or
- 2:29Speaker 2: your brother or friend. Our enemy is Satan and his
- 2:36Speaker 2: strategic forces. So using this method of being able to
- 2:42Speaker 2: understand who our enemy is is going to make a
- 2:47Speaker 2: tremendous difference in how we fight. Suppose your life or
- 2:52Speaker 2: the life of a family member or friend was being
- 2:56Speaker 2: threatened by an enemy. What would be your first name,
- 3:00Speaker 2: natural instinct defense, right, you would try to defend those
- 3:05Speaker 2: dear to you from the enemy. Now, in order to
- 3:08Speaker 2: defend your side or fight this enemy, you must first
- 3:14Speaker 2: know something about him, who he is, where he comes from,
- 3:18Speaker 2: what kind of weapons he employs. In other words, knowing
- 3:23Speaker 2: your enemy is going to enable you to enter into combat,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and it is the determining factor in who gains the victory. Now,
- 3:33Speaker 2: of course, you want to win the battle for the war,
- 3:37Speaker 2: so you really set up good centers of intelligence to
- 3:41Speaker 2: spy out the enemy and report back to you, or
- 3:45Speaker 2: do you. Now, if you're not a Christian, your enemy
- 3:49Speaker 2: has cleverly kept himself hidden from you. He's used deceit,
- 3:54Speaker 2: lies and disguises to inflict harmful and sometimes even dead
- 4:00Speaker 2: lead blows. He has allowed you to think that the
- 4:04Speaker 2: way out of your problem is greater humanitarian effort, more
- 4:09Speaker 2: and better education, and the progress that comes from technology,
- 4:14Speaker 2: even when it might endanger your present or future existence.
- 4:21Speaker 2: He tells you that as long as you live a
- 4:24Speaker 2: good life and help your neighbor, that everything will get better.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Some of us have actually followed his directions, but have
- 4:32Speaker 2: world conditions improved or are they worse than ever before?
- 4:37Speaker 2: If his way is the right way, then why does
- 4:41Speaker 2: it constantly lead to death and destruction? Remember know your enemy.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Strangely enough, he uses the exact same tactics on Christians.
- 4:53Speaker 2: That's hard to believe, isn't it. You'd think he would
- 4:56Speaker 2: employ some new weapon or a different means of attack,
- 5:00Speaker 2: But he doesn't. He still sneaks in unaware, plunders, steals, kills,
- 5:08Speaker 2: and destroys. You Know, the interesting thing is that as
- 5:12Speaker 2: long as he can remain in the background or unexposed,
- 5:17Speaker 2: he is free to operate in his diabolical manner. So
- 5:23Speaker 2: let's expose him right here and now, who is he? Well?
- 5:28Speaker 2: He's described as the angel of light in disguise, the
- 5:32Speaker 2: father of lies, the enemy of God, the thief in
- 5:36Speaker 2: the night, the prince of the powers of the air,
- 5:40Speaker 2: and the ruler of the dark recesses of this world.
- 5:45Speaker 2: He has been immortalized by his followers and worshiped through
- 5:50Speaker 2: the ages. Probably has been more involved in starting religions
- 5:56Speaker 2: and philosophies, and he's done more to war or redirect
- 6:02Speaker 2: the course of history than any known ruler. He introduced sin,
- 6:09Speaker 2: he marred the face of nature. He perpetuates wars, and
- 6:16Speaker 2: he's invented and utilized diseases. He promotes continual jealousy and grief. Now,
- 6:26Speaker 2: in this description we have already explained that this enemy
- 6:32Speaker 2: is not flesh and blood. So what's his origin? Where
- 6:36Speaker 2: do we find how he came about? His name originally
- 6:42Speaker 2: was Lucifer. He was one of, if not the highest,
- 6:47Speaker 2: of the position spiritual beings that God created. He had
- 6:53Speaker 2: served in a trusted capacity so as to be free.
- 6:57Speaker 2: He could go anywhere, do anything as long as he
- 7:02Speaker 2: obeyed his creator. And he witnessed the creation of much
- 7:09Speaker 2: of the universe, the stars, the planets, the earth, the
- 7:13Speaker 2: works of nature, the animal and plant life forms and
- 7:18Speaker 2: God's pride of creation mankind. He of all angelic beings,
- 7:24Speaker 2: knew the holiness of God, and he had access to
- 7:28Speaker 2: his very throne. He knew that God loved everything he
- 7:33Speaker 2: had created, especially man. He also knew of God's plan,
- 7:38Speaker 2: perhaps not entirely, but in principle for his creation. He
- 7:44Speaker 2: knew of God's greatness and rich provision. We could probably
- 7:50Speaker 2: state that he lacked nothing as far as position, prominence,
- 7:56Speaker 2: or provision with God. Something changed. What really happened that changed, Well, folks,
- 8:07Speaker 2: we don't know exactly what took place, but somehow an
- 8:14Speaker 2: unholy desire began to emerge, and Lucifer was not satisfied
- 8:22Speaker 2: with who or what he was. He wanted to be
- 8:28Speaker 2: worshiped as God himself. The Bible records a rebellion which
- 8:36Speaker 2: Lucifer the creature led against God the Creator, and many
- 8:43Speaker 2: of the angelic beings actually tried to overthrow the Kingdom
- 8:50Speaker 2: of God. This attempt failed, and Lucifer, as well as
- 8:56Speaker 2: the third of the Angels of Heaven, were cast out
- 9:00Speaker 2: and demoted to a state of existence outside of God's
- 9:06Speaker 2: perfect plan. The intentions of this fallen angel became tremendously worse,
- 9:18Speaker 2: everything about him changed. Instead of his name being one
- 9:24Speaker 2: that could be of glory, it became Satan, or the devil.
- 9:30Speaker 2: His thoughts and deeds became even more evil. His intelligence,
- 9:35Speaker 2: once greatly encouraged by God for goodness, became perverted and
- 9:41Speaker 2: twisted and bent on revenge. He must have purposed in
- 9:46Speaker 2: himself to destroy or try to destroy, all of God's handiwork.
- 9:53Speaker 2: He knew how much God loved man, the height of
- 9:58Speaker 2: all of God's creator, so he began to use his
- 10:02Speaker 2: perverted intelligence to destroy man. Now he knew man had
- 10:08Speaker 2: been given dominion or rule over all that God had
- 10:13Speaker 2: made on this earth. He can find that in the
- 10:18Speaker 2: first chapter of Genesis in verse twenty eight. He also
- 10:22Speaker 2: knew that God would not sanction disobedience because of what
- 10:27Speaker 2: had happened to Satan himself. So through deception he tricked
- 10:33Speaker 2: man into disobedience, and when this took place, the immortal
- 10:39Speaker 2: part of man became separated or dead to God. Man
- 10:46Speaker 2: no longer had fellowship or enjoyment with God or even
- 10:51Speaker 2: his creation. He no longer had dominion over all the earth.
- 10:55Speaker 2: He gave it away, and that dominion was given away
- 11:00Speaker 2: by his disobedience to God, who did he give it
- 11:04Speaker 2: to the one who desired it in the first place Satan.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Now Satan could legally rule in his limited capacity all
- 11:16Speaker 2: that God had given to man. In this particular area,
- 11:23Speaker 2: Man has dealt with the problem of sin from the
- 11:30Speaker 2: time that it was introduced by deception in the Garden
- 11:37Speaker 2: of Eden. Man has been the victim. But the good
- 11:42Speaker 2: news is that because Jesus came, he fulfilled the promise
- 11:52Speaker 2: of the Father by actually destroying the works of the devil.
- 12:00Speaker 2: If he do it, he did it by paying the
- 12:02Speaker 2: price for your sin and my sin. His mission on
- 12:09Speaker 2: this earth was to do one thing, and that was
- 12:16Speaker 2: to destroy the works of the devil. In First John,
- 12:22Speaker 2: in chapter three and verse eight, it says for this
- 12:27Speaker 2: purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might
- 12:32Speaker 2: destroy the works of the devil. It is so important
- 12:37Speaker 2: in our Christian fight of faith and the war and
- 12:42Speaker 2: victory that continues to be waged for us to understand
- 12:47Speaker 2: that because of what Jesus did, he has given dominion
- 12:55Speaker 2: back to man. Satan no longer has rules over those
- 13:02Speaker 2: that Jesus has redeemed. What do we see when we
- 13:06Speaker 2: look at man after he comes to the saving knowledge
- 13:13Speaker 2: of Jesus Christ. What we see is the righteousness of
- 13:18Speaker 2: God in him.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.

- 13:56Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Our Daily Bread
- 14:01Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 14:05Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And folks, that's what God sees. Satan cannot harm a
- 14:15Speaker 2: child of God. Now I'm not going to tell you
- 14:20Speaker 2: that he can't try, but he has no power over
- 14:27Speaker 2: you if you have been bought and purchased by the
- 14:32Speaker 2: precious blood of Jesus Christ. We want to be able
- 14:37Speaker 2: to stress that part of the scripture promise that Jesus
- 14:44Speaker 2: came to fulfill. For this purpose, the son of God
- 14:49Speaker 2: was manisfested that he might destroy the works of the
- 14:55Speaker 2: devil first John three and verse eight. And that is
- 15:00Speaker 2: today's Reflection on the Word.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 15:08Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
- 15:11Speaker 1: Richard k or Richard the entire team. This is Chuck
- 15:14Speaker 1: Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition of Reflections
- 15:18Speaker 1: on the Word.
