- 0:00Speaker 1: I saw something yesterday and I was like, this is
- 0:02Speaker 1: really interesting. I read it and I was like, this
- 0:04Speaker 1: is really cool. I'm glad I read this. And then
- 0:06Speaker 1: I thought, since I'm glad I'm reading it, I should
- 0:08Speaker 1: probably present it to the show because it's really interesting.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I thought, how many people here in this studio lose things?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Oh?
- 0:16Speaker 3: I do all the time, And and do you ever
- 0:19Speaker 3: find them?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:20Speaker 1: Sometimes sometimes you don't.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Sometimes I don't.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I was just this says how to find things that
- 0:25Speaker 1: you've lost. It was like tips on how to find
- 0:28Speaker 1: things that you lost. And as I was scrolling through them,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, Like it says here,
- 0:34Speaker 1: don't ever put something in a special place. I put
- 0:38Speaker 1: stuff in special places all the time.
- 0:40Speaker 3: What do you consider a special place?
- 0:43Speaker 1: This is the worst possible thing to do is place
- 0:45Speaker 1: something in value in a special place that's easy to
- 0:48Speaker 1: remember for safekeeping.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Hah.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Definitely not recommended.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah, although sometimes you find that special thing years later
- 0:55Speaker 2: and it's a surprise.
- 0:57Speaker 3: That's what happened to me because my sister in law
- 1:00Speaker 3: gave me Scott's birthday present in like November and his
- 1:03Speaker 3: birthday is not till January. It was like, I'll put
- 1:05Speaker 3: this in a special place until and then I'll give
- 1:07Speaker 3: it to him for his birthday. Years later, when we
- 1:09Speaker 3: moved out, I finally found him.
- 1:11Speaker 1: See that's why. That's one of the reasons I saw
- 1:13Speaker 1: it like. That's really like. This is what to do
- 1:15Speaker 1: if you lose a wallet. What do you do if
- 1:17Speaker 1: you lose your wallet? I mean you you get a
- 1:19Speaker 1: new wallet. Well, it says, look up your last credit
- 1:22Speaker 1: card transaction and then go to the place where you
- 1:24Speaker 1: last spend the money and look around there. This is
- 1:26Speaker 1: from a private investigator. This is also another good tip.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Watch things fall as you drop them. I've trained myself
- 1:34Speaker 1: to watch things fall when I drop it. If you
- 1:36Speaker 1: watch a small screw fall and see where it lands
- 1:38Speaker 1: and bounces, you'll have no trouble finding it. If you
- 1:41Speaker 1: look at the place where the screw was supposed to
- 1:43Speaker 1: go and crawl around, and you'll have trouble trying to
- 1:45Speaker 1: find it.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Point. That's a really good that's a good tip.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Use a flashlight. I find a flashlight to be useful
- 1:50Speaker 1: day or night. The beam forced me to focus on
- 1:52Speaker 1: a limited area and helps me see instead of just
- 1:55Speaker 1: looking held near the floor and makes things shine start clean.
- 2:00Speaker 1: My mother taught me this tip. When you can find something,
- 2:02Speaker 1: clean up and you'll find it. Check favorite hangout spots.
- 2:05Speaker 1: My youngest son is autistic and nonverbal. He wears glasses
- 2:08Speaker 1: and sometimes comes to me without them on his face
- 2:11Speaker 1: to look for them. I always go to his favorite
- 2:12Speaker 1: places around my home that might be in his bed,
- 2:14Speaker 1: his sensory swing, or the closet. I always end up
- 2:16Speaker 1: finding him. Make a mental note of something you're likely
- 2:20Speaker 1: to lose. I make a mental note when I put
- 2:22Speaker 1: something down, like my keys, classes or phone, in a
- 2:24Speaker 1: place I do not usually put it. It's usually something
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's I usually put something in writing to make it
- 2:31Speaker 1: easier to remember. Come back to it. Take a break
- 2:34Speaker 1: from looking for your missing object and relax or do
- 2:37Speaker 1: something else without worrying and fussing. Your brain will quietly
- 2:40Speaker 1: surprise you with a stored memory that will suddenly pop
- 2:42Speaker 1: into your consciousness and lead you to the missing eye.
- 2:44Speaker 2: If you're missing something. If I miss something, I obsessively
- 2:47Speaker 2: look everywhere that I possibly can think of, until every
- 2:50Speaker 2: room in the house is exhausted.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Look carefully in the most obvious place, look at the
- 2:56Speaker 1: most likely places should be. Most of the time, it's
- 2:58Speaker 1: there that happens to me all the time. I'm like,
- 3:00Speaker 1: where's whatever, and then Blake will come and go here
- 3:02Speaker 1: it does staring right there my mom? You see this
- 3:07Speaker 1: thing where she would go I hate if I go, hey, Mom,
- 3:10Speaker 1: we're the grapes. There's no grapes in the fridge. And
- 3:12Speaker 1: she'd come open the fridge and she'd move the milk.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Here they are. They're right behind the milk. She would
- 3:16Speaker 1: be like, do you want me to say? Do you
- 3:18Speaker 1: want the grapes to go?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Here?
- 3:19Speaker 1: I am here, I am here, I am here, the
- 3:20Speaker 1: grapes here, I am And I'd be like, chill out, mom.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Like all the time she would imitate grapes or whatever
- 3:27Speaker 1: I was looking for. Anyway, those are just some fun
- 3:31Speaker 1: tips you know, how to find things you lost.
