- 1:49Speaker 1: You know what I've noticed, what is that we get
- 1:53Speaker 1: emails sometimes for this type of podcast episode, our Hallmark episodes,
- 1:57Speaker 1: and we get emails for our regular Twoday a Just
- 2:01Speaker 1: Talking about Life podcast, and the Hallmark fans pull no punches.
- 2:07Speaker 2: You think.
- 2:10Speaker 3: They're very protective.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Of their movies and their actors and their universe.
- 2:15Speaker 3: And I appreciate it.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I appreciate that you have very strong feelings for it.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But it is a remarkable difference.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It definitely is, and I'm not offended by it. Like
- 2:24Speaker 2: everybody can have their opinion about it. I mean, but
- 2:27Speaker 2: don't come with me like talking badly about you know,
- 2:32Speaker 2: Hallmarks move towards diversity.
- 2:35Speaker 3: No, No, the movies are too woke. Come out. Yeah, exactly.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I wanted to remind listeners because some people are brand
- 2:43Speaker 1: new to our podcast, and I wanted to take a
- 2:46Speaker 1: quick second and remind them the provenance of this podcast.
- 2:49Speaker 1: How this even started mm hmmm. Because people may think like,
- 2:54Speaker 1: you're a Hallmark seasoned regular, I'm really not.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I mean you are now.
- 3:00Speaker 1: But this started because in October twenty twenty, Wendy had
- 3:05Speaker 1: never seen a single Hallmark movie. And I would consider
- 3:09Speaker 1: myself a Hallmark movie fan, but will admit that mostly
- 3:13Speaker 1: that meant I was watching countdown to Christmas movies and
- 3:17Speaker 1: not catching very many throughout the year. And so we
- 3:21Speaker 1: started from a place of absolutely no Hallmark knowledge and
- 3:26Speaker 1: like casual Hallmark watcher knowledge, and I have become I
- 3:29Speaker 1: would say, quite well versed in the Hallmark universe.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I mean quite well versed. Maybe not so much because
- 3:38Speaker 2: we were talking specifically about an actor who was in
- 3:41Speaker 2: a movie late last year and I was like, I
- 3:45Speaker 2: can't even remember what movie that was. I can't even
- 3:49Speaker 2: remember who the actor was, So I would consider myself
- 3:52Speaker 2: like not versed at all.
- 3:55Speaker 1: All Right, fair enough, okay, I'll talk about this movie. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: do you have a synopsis for Just One Kiss? I?
- 4:04Speaker 2: Sure, do sparks fly between Professor Mia and lounge singer
- 4:08Speaker 2: Tony through a series of chance encounters. Little do they
- 4:12Speaker 2: know their mothers are scheming to set them up. Stars
- 4:16Speaker 2: Krista Rodriguez and Santino Fontana.
- 4:19Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about some news and notes about
- 4:22Speaker 1: just one kiss.
- 4:24Speaker 2: We give it to us.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So, first of all, this was written by Nina Wyman,
- 4:28Speaker 1: who is a prolific Hallmark writer. She's up there in
- 4:31Speaker 1: terms of my favorite Hallmark writers. I will forgive her
- 4:35Speaker 1: for never kiss a man on a Christmas letter because
- 4:37Speaker 1: we did get Don't Go Break in My Heart last year.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And also I think this movie is a gem, so
- 4:44Speaker 1: they can all be.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Hits out of the park.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Sure, sure, of course. It was filmed in Vancouver, Canada,
- 4:50Speaker 2: and the movie began filming on January twenty eighth. Whoa
- 4:56Speaker 2: tight turnaround.
- 4:57Speaker 1: There's Hallmark with their quick turnarounds. Did you think that
- 5:01Speaker 1: some of the exterior shots had real movie set backlot
- 5:04Speaker 1: vibes to you?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Absolutely? And I almost thought, like, are they filming this like,
- 5:09Speaker 2: you know, what is it? Universal Studios here right, Warner
- 5:13Speaker 2: Brothers back line? Yes? Yes, I definitely thought that, like
- 5:17Speaker 2: these are supposed to be the streets of New York,
- 5:19Speaker 2: not the streets, but you know, like a New York
- 5:21Speaker 2: neighborhood or whatever.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And I don't know if there is some sort
- 5:26Speaker 1: of lot situation somewhere in Vancouver that they use for
- 5:29Speaker 1: some of these exterior shots, or if these are.
- 5:32Speaker 3: All just exterior street street shots that.
- 5:34Speaker 1: They're using, but specifically like outside when they're walking through
- 5:39Speaker 1: the city. It felt very much like like a Luke's
- 5:43Speaker 1: Diner on the back lot of the Warner Brothers studio situation.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Totally. Totally.
- 5:48Speaker 1: This was directed by Jeff Beasley, who is on a
- 5:51Speaker 1: Hallmark movie directing tear. He directed movies recently like Love
- 5:55Speaker 1: Strikes Twice and A Kiss Before Christmas, which was the
- 5:58Speaker 1: Terry Hatcher movie. He had done a lot of TV producing,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but for the last few years he's just been TV movie,
- 6:04Speaker 1: TV movie, TV movie. He must work pretty much NonStop,
- 6:08Speaker 1: it seems like lately.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Wow, I was looking at the instagram of some of
- 6:14Speaker 2: the actors in this movie and I saw that they
- 6:17Speaker 2: had stayed at Sutton Place, which is a downtown Vancouver hotel.
- 6:23Speaker 2: And I'm going to reference something that probably only Megan knows,
- 6:27Speaker 2: but I was recently listening to the podcast Nobody's listening
- 6:31Speaker 2: right with Elizabeth and Andy, and she was she's a
- 6:35Speaker 2: she writes for that show A Million Little Lie, A
- 6:39Speaker 2: Million Little Lies? No, is that what it's called?
- 6:41Speaker 3: What's it called? A Million Little Things? That's it?
- 6:44Speaker 2: Why did I think a Million Little Lies? Where did
- 6:46Speaker 2: that come from?
- 6:48Speaker 3: That's it?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Anyway, she's a writer on that show. And she recently
- 6:51Speaker 2: went to Canada, and she was telling the story that, like,
- 6:55Speaker 2: if you're in entertainment and you are going to Vancouver
- 6:58Speaker 2: for work, everybody says the Sutton. So I thought it
- 7:01Speaker 2: was pretty funny that I saw that these other actors
- 7:05Speaker 2: in a Hallmark movie were also staying at the Sutton.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And hello, if you're like a huge fan and you
- 7:10Speaker 2: want to go see some actors and some actresses go
- 7:13Speaker 2: to the Sutton hotel in a very good yep.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I bumped on that as well.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And I wonder if I've seen that mentioned in other
- 7:23Speaker 1: news bits about Hallmark movies and just not registered it
- 7:26Speaker 1: because I hadn't. Just recently heard that hotel mentioned on
- 7:29Speaker 1: a podcast that was like world's colliding.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Right there, totally totally.
- 7:35Speaker 1: We talked about Santino Fontana, one of the stars of
- 7:37Speaker 1: this movie. He plays Tony. He is the voice of
- 7:40Speaker 1: Hans and Frozen. Wendy knows him as the voice of
- 7:43Speaker 1: Joe in the audiobook You but what I just learned
- 7:48Speaker 1: he's also a Tony Award winner.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh, I thought for sure you had known that I did,
- 7:53Speaker 2: don't you. Don't you You're very much up on the
- 7:56Speaker 2: Tony Awards Broadway.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I mean, I enjoy a Broadway show. But I don't
- 8:03Speaker 1: have the names of the Tony Award winners memorized. But
- 8:06Speaker 1: he won for a role in TUTSI.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that I saw closed in like February twenty twentyis right.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Like I was like, I wonder why that closed. Uh,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I mean maybe it was at the end of the run.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I think it's too early for it to have been
- 8:25Speaker 1: COVID related.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. Here's a side note. I
- 8:30Speaker 2: was looking on IMDb and there were a ton of
- 8:33Speaker 2: comments that criticized his voice for not being that good
- 8:37Speaker 2: in this movie. And I was like, what, this is
- 8:40Speaker 2: a Tony Award winning actor. Yeah, he's got the voice.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought he was great, me too.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Christa Rodriguez plays Mia. I learned that she is a
- 8:53Speaker 2: real life breast cancer survivor and was diagnosed at thirty
- 8:56Speaker 2: years old.
- 8:58Speaker 3: I did not know that.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah, she was also No One for being in the
- 9:03Speaker 2: NBC show Smash with Catherine McPhee. Uh huh did you
- 9:07Speaker 2: watch that show?
- 9:08Speaker 3: I've seen a few episodes.
- 9:09Speaker 2: She was also on Broadway in a course line in
- 9:12Speaker 2: the Heights and the Adams Family. But she's an Orange
- 9:16Speaker 2: County girl born here in the city of Orange and
- 9:19Speaker 2: went to Osha High School, which is Orange County High
- 9:22Speaker 2: School of the Arts.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yes, what fun information you found.
- 9:27Speaker 2: I know. See, I tried to dig a little deeper
- 9:31Speaker 2: this week.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I'd like to say that Mattie Pinocchio, Girls Gone Hamewark
- 9:36Speaker 1: Fave is becoming the Where's Waldo of Hallmark movies?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Seriously, right, And I'm still telling you justice for Maddie
- 9:43Speaker 2: because the man needs a lead role in a movie.
- 9:47Speaker 1: One hundred percent agree take him out of the best
- 9:49Speaker 1: friend role, although I do think they are giving him
- 9:52Speaker 1: things to do beyond just like funny one liners. I
- 9:55Speaker 1: want him in a lead role.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I got one more tiny little news and note for you,
- 10:02Speaker 2: and I want to get your opinion. Ada Taturo and
- 10:06Speaker 2: Ileana Douglas, who played the mothers in this movie. Ada
- 10:12Speaker 2: is known for playing Janice on The Sopranos and she
- 10:16Speaker 2: I think she's Tony's sister on The Sopranos and Iliana.
- 10:20Speaker 2: She's got like a deep resume of TV shows and movies.
- 10:24Speaker 2: She's always like, I totally recognize her face from so
- 10:27Speaker 2: many things. But here's the thing. They are each fifty
- 10:32Speaker 2: nine and fifty six years old, okay, and they are
- 10:36Speaker 2: playing the roles of.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Moms, like older moms who.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Are spoiler alert dead. Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't want to talk about that, but.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So you think they're playing roles in which they're older
- 10:53Speaker 1: than they actually are.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, And it kind of bums me out because this
- 10:57Speaker 2: is again where these are are actors with big resumes
- 11:05Speaker 2: who I feel like don't have a place in movies
- 11:13Speaker 2: and TV anymore except for these like super geriatric roles.
- 11:17Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Okay, But is it possible that the fifty nine year
- 11:21Speaker 1: old has a daughter has a twelve year old granddaughter?
- 11:23Speaker 3: I mean, I think you know, if.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You have your kids at twenty two and then you've
- 11:28Speaker 1: got a thirty something year old daughter who has a
- 11:32Speaker 1: twelve year old, I mean, I think it's I think
- 11:35Speaker 1: it's possible.
- 11:35Speaker 3: But yes, I do.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Think you are they're dead. But they're dead.
- 11:40Speaker 3: They're dead. They are dead.
- 11:42Speaker 2: They didn't they didn't say, like, who knows, it could
- 11:45Speaker 2: have been early deaths whatever, you know what I mean.
- 11:47Speaker 2: But I don't think so. I think these are just
- 11:49Speaker 2: supposed to be parents who have passed on.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Like they passed in their sleep of old age.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah, just old age. I don't know. I don't know.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I'm just weirded out by it.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Like I give.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Them a second chance at love movie. They don't need
- 12:01Speaker 2: to be playing like a super old lady who's dead. Now, sure, whatever,
- 12:07Speaker 2: that's my two cents on it.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'll take it. Moving on, what's your first impression of
- 12:12Speaker 1: this movie?
- 12:13Speaker 2: My first impression is are you ready for it? I
- 12:16Speaker 2: am Brava.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Yeah? What was yours? Mine?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Is?
- 12:26Speaker 1: This appears to be the year of the Italian.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Grandma on Hallmark.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Oh.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I have some thoughts about that or questions mostly okay,
- 12:34Speaker 2: So I want, because we just talked about this to
- 12:37Speaker 2: start with one like, and this isn't quite the late
- 12:43Speaker 2: in life second chance at love story.
- 12:45Speaker 1: We're not getting the love stories of the grandmothers in
- 12:49Speaker 1: these movies, but we aren't getting first love young love either.
- 12:55Speaker 1: This is kind of a middle ground.
- 12:56Speaker 3: They've both.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Mio was married, she has a daughter. Tony had a
- 13:02Speaker 1: long term relationship. They're both well into adulthood. So we're
- 13:08Speaker 1: getting a mix. We're getting a mix of ages here.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'm telling you, somebody is listening to her podcast.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I liked it.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We've been asking for it. I liked this movie a
- 13:20Speaker 2: lot because the dialogue was sharp, and I gotta give
- 13:23Speaker 2: that to Nina Weinman for writing a good movie, but
- 13:27Speaker 2: that it had a great cast and the music was
- 13:32Speaker 2: so like just made me happy to watch it. It
- 13:37Speaker 2: just made me so happy.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I was a little bit nervous about the music, knowing
- 13:42Speaker 1: that the songs were going to be in it, and
- 13:45Speaker 1: I loved the way they were woven throughout the movie.
- 13:49Speaker 1: We have, you know, Nick performing in his little club,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and we have them in their dreams, and then him
- 13:55Speaker 1: singing at the old Folks home, and then they have
- 13:59Speaker 1: a little bit of a moment.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Where they sing together.
- 14:01Speaker 1: On the roof. I thought they did such a nice shop.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I was a little bit worried that it was gonna
- 14:06Speaker 1: be like breaking into songs, singing in the rain style,
- 14:09Speaker 1: dancing on the sidewalk, and I'm glad we didn't have that.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Oh I like that.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I just think that's perhaps hard to execute well sometimes.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Sure, but let me say, like a Christmas waltz, did
- 14:21Speaker 2: it really well when they were dancing in the street, Yes,
- 14:24Speaker 2: you know, in the city street or whatever like that
- 14:27Speaker 2: was one of my favorite scenes in one of my
- 14:30Speaker 2: favorite movies. So it can be done. But I hear
- 14:34Speaker 2: you like you were worried it was gonna get like
- 14:36Speaker 2: a little too cop rock. That's a real throwback.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I just didn't want it to feel like we were
- 14:43Speaker 1: in the middle of a staged musical, yeah, where they
- 14:46Speaker 1: all of a sudden start singing their feelings.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, all right, all right.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I loved this line from Nick, who says, you walk
- 14:56Speaker 1: into the middle of someone's life, you can't expect.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Them not to have one.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Mia is apologizing for Casey's presence and how that complicates things.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And I thought that was such a great.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Line, isn't it. I mean, it's such a relatable line.
- 15:11Speaker 2: That's yeah, it's so good. It's so good. And I
- 15:14Speaker 2: feel like that's kind of a wink and a nod
- 15:15Speaker 2: to like, you know, typical Hallmark movies where, like, you know,
- 15:20Speaker 2: worlds get turned upside down because people actually have lives
- 15:23Speaker 2: before they meet each other. Oh you had an ex boyfriend?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 15:28Speaker 1: You know well, And speaking of a wink and a
- 15:30Speaker 1: nod to Hallmark movie, I feel the entire title and
- 15:33Speaker 1: then the running thought of how can you know that
- 15:36Speaker 1: he's the one after just one kiss was also kind
- 15:41Speaker 1: of a little bit of a nudge to Hallmark. We
- 15:44Speaker 1: get the kiss at the end and everyone lives happily
- 15:46Speaker 1: ever after, and I liked that.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I agree. I don't know if you noticed, but the
- 15:52Speaker 2: interior apartments were super cool in this movie. Yes, totally
- 15:57Speaker 2: different and contemporary compared to what we've seen on typical sets.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I liked it. I mean, I don't think she's getting
- 16:06Speaker 2: an apartment for that price though not in New York City.
- 16:09Speaker 3: As a professor. No, I don't think so. But I
- 16:11Speaker 3: love her apartment. I loved I thought it was great.
- 16:15Speaker 2: And there were so many like shots of the New
- 16:17Speaker 2: York skyline, and I freaking love New York. So I
- 16:20Speaker 2: was just like, I want to go back. I want
- 16:23Speaker 2: to go back. I love it there. It was so pretty.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I have one more small like before we get to
- 16:29Speaker 1: a big thing that I want to talk about. And
- 16:31Speaker 1: they liked Uncle Harry and his can't get enough gaga.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I just thought he was fun.
- 16:35Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about, those lines being like good, Yeah,
- 16:39Speaker 2: I really liked it.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Would you like to talk about the twist?
- 16:42Speaker 3: Well, sure we can say that. Do you have it
- 16:45Speaker 3: in a better spot?
- 16:46Speaker 1: No?
- 16:46Speaker 2: I have it in a like spot.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Actually me too.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I didn't see it coming. Okay, was I not paying
- 16:53Speaker 2: attention closely?
- 16:54Speaker 1: I didn't see it coming either. However, as I'm watching
- 16:59Speaker 1: sometimes I'm also doing a little research on the movie
- 17:01Speaker 1: while it's playing, and I'm looking at the IMDb page
- 17:05Speaker 1: and there's a synopsis I believe, and it says something
- 17:10Speaker 1: about spirits and it names the mothers, and I thought,
- 17:15Speaker 1: oh wait, and then I didn't I use it, so
- 17:20Speaker 1: I didn't continue reading that.
- 17:22Speaker 3: And then I start watching it and I go, wait
- 17:24Speaker 3: a minute.
- 17:25Speaker 1: That answers so many questions, like how come they didn't
- 17:28Speaker 1: see them when they were in the club, and how
- 17:30Speaker 1: come they nobody heard them talking at normal voices when they're.
- 17:34Speaker 3: In the movie theater.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And then I rewound because there's only one scene where
- 17:41Speaker 1: I believe MIA's mother is in the scene with her,
- 17:45Speaker 1: and that's when they're looking at the apartment. Uh oh, yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 1: watched it, and they never speak to each other. Mia
- 17:54Speaker 1: echoes a lot of her mom's thoughts. Her mom's like, look,
- 17:57Speaker 1: you can see the Brooklyn Bridge, and Mia.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Goes, wow, I'll look at that view.
- 18:01Speaker 1: So it feels like they're bantering. But there they never interact.
- 18:04Speaker 1: They never look at each other. And I did not
- 18:09Speaker 1: see it coming either, is what I'm saying.
- 18:11Speaker 3: But as soon as I realized it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Then I watched the rest of that movie through that eye.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Well that was a real sixth sense moment there when
- 18:19Speaker 2: they were in the apartment together. Nice, yeah, how funny.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I didn't And now that you mention it, yeah wow.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Like I said, I didn't see it coming. And I
- 18:29Speaker 2: got super choked up when when they like off together,
- 18:34Speaker 2: like the two moms went off together because their job
- 18:36Speaker 2: was done, and then like Mia and Tony have like
- 18:40Speaker 2: a moment about like wishing that their moms were there,
- 18:43Speaker 2: and I was like, oh my god, I thought it
- 18:45Speaker 2: was so good.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought it was great. It was really well done.
- 18:50Speaker 1: It did not even looking back, it doesn't feel cheesy.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I thought they were really funny. I liked how they
- 18:57Speaker 1: both talked up their own kids, but then when it
- 19:00Speaker 1: came to the other ones, you're like, yeah, he's all right.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Yeah, So then let's move on to what did you
- 19:07Speaker 2: wish for from just one kiss?
- 19:10Speaker 1: My wish is more of a complaint, okay, And I
- 19:15Speaker 1: guess I can frame it in the form of a wish,
- 19:17Speaker 1: and it is I wish the Casey didn't suck so much.
- 19:20Speaker 2: That's the ex husband. Yes, Okay, So I have something similar.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I wrote less Stockery estranged husband and you was a nightmare,
- 19:33Speaker 2: Like go away, dude, Like, I know, he's dealing with
- 19:35Speaker 2: a bunch of stuff and he didn't want their relationship
- 19:37Speaker 2: to the end, but uh, have some boundaries, like you
- 19:42Speaker 2: are a nightmare. She's divorcing you.
- 19:45Speaker 1: She's told you over and over again that she's done
- 19:48Speaker 1: and that she does not trust you and you, even
- 19:52Speaker 1: if you're holding out hope that you might someday get
- 19:55Speaker 1: back together, this is not the way to do it.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a night or like showing up on
- 20:01Speaker 2: our doorstep and like yeah, yeah, nope, and then like
- 20:04Speaker 2: kind of like badgering Tony a little bit when they
- 20:08Speaker 2: were in her kitchen.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh a lot when he shows up when he brings
- 20:13Speaker 1: the daughter home and Mia has to wait in the
- 20:15Speaker 1: room and he's like, I don't know what you're doing here,
- 20:18Speaker 1: and oh, yeah, he's a jerk.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't like him at all.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Did you wish I had one?
- 20:27Speaker 2: And I wonder if it's just me or maybe this
- 20:32Speaker 2: goes back to the IMDb reviews about Santino Fontana's voice.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I thought the sound might have been off just a
- 20:40Speaker 2: little bit because when he's sang, like in the lounge scenes,
- 20:44Speaker 2: he was very loud, like almost shouting loud a little bit.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And I just thought, is maybe his voice is like
- 20:54Speaker 2: too loud for the music playing and that didn't translate
- 20:57Speaker 2: well over TV. I don't know. It could have just
- 21:00Speaker 2: been a personal thing. I have to play my TV
- 21:02Speaker 2: really loud because especially this when I didn't have subtitles
- 21:05Speaker 2: on it, so I got it, you know, I got
- 21:08Speaker 2: I can't miss anything, So it was loud on my end.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Hmm, I did not notice that. Okay, it's time for
- 21:16Speaker 1: did you see that. I have a couple of things
- 21:19Speaker 1: to say.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Okay, I'm excited.
- 21:22Speaker 3: First, uhuh.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Nick and Mia are in a bar and a fan
- 21:28Speaker 1: comes up to Nick and tells him how her music
- 21:32Speaker 1: just changed her life.
- 21:33Speaker 3: And then she says, can I get a picture for
- 21:35Speaker 3: my blog?
- 21:37Speaker 1: What?
- 21:37Speaker 3: Yeah, can we not say Instagram?
- 21:41Speaker 1: Is that?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Oh maybe they can't say instagram, but she could have
- 21:45Speaker 2: said for my social media, you know, or just.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Can I get a picture? Everyone knows what the picture's for,
- 21:52Speaker 3: but can I get a picture.
- 21:53Speaker 1: For my blog? Not saying blogs don't exist? I just
- 21:55Speaker 1: feel like that reference is maybe ten years too late.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because we're.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Not blogging our daily lives anymore.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Did it feel like a personal attack a little bit?
- 22:07Speaker 2: Because you know, we have a blog. It's at back do.
- 22:11Speaker 3: We Megan and Wendy dot com.
- 22:13Speaker 1: We do have a blog, but I'm not blogging, like
- 22:16Speaker 1: and today I'm at Joe.
- 22:20Speaker 2: No.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I thought I thought it was odd.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I only had one little one and we talked about it.
- 22:28Speaker 2: You mentioned it, hit on it just quickly. But I
- 22:32Speaker 2: was wondering why the why the moms were talking so
- 22:35Speaker 2: loudly in the movie theater when everybody else got shushed.
- 22:39Speaker 2: You know, I was like, why why are they why
- 22:43Speaker 2: are they allowed to like shout at each and they
- 22:45Speaker 2: weren't shouting, but you know, they weren't watching the movie.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But now I know in the end that we were
- 22:52Speaker 2: not there.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Really, looking back, it feels very obvious because they she
- 22:58Speaker 1: moves into a new apartment her mom income, they were
- 23:00Speaker 1: across the street all the time. They're in the bar,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and they never notice they're in the bar twice and
- 23:06Speaker 1: one time they're so close to them. This is when
- 23:08Speaker 1: I already knew what was happening. But I was like, Okay,
- 23:13Speaker 1: it feels like they're like, hello, you haven't hear how
- 23:16Speaker 1: what's going on? At this point, we cannot make it
- 23:19Speaker 1: any more obvious to you. Yeah, But that said, I
- 23:23Speaker 1: would not have guessed it if I had not seen it.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Written two things one and this In nixt dream, he
- 23:31Speaker 1: has two dreams about Mia, and in the second one,
- 23:35Speaker 1: it's kind of a nightmare because Casey comes and steals
- 23:37Speaker 1: her away.
- 23:38Speaker 3: But you hear her.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Singing and you see her singing, but what she is
- 23:42Speaker 1: singing is.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Not what we hear.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't notice.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And I don't know if that was because things were
- 23:50Speaker 1: starting to go wrong, so what he was hearing was
- 23:53Speaker 1: not what was happening.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I don't know if that was intentional or.
- 23:56Speaker 1: If they just dubbed the music incorrectly, but it's very
- 24:00Speaker 1: clear that she's not singing whatever it is you're hearing.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Oh. Interesting.
- 24:06Speaker 1: The last one is just a funny little one. Casey
- 24:09Speaker 1: is cooking in me his kitchen and I don't even
- 24:11Speaker 1: remember what he's making, veal something.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Oh, yes, he was making veal parmesan or something like that. Yes,
- 24:17Speaker 2: I remember, Uh huh.
- 24:18Speaker 3: He has a towel over his shoulder. Did you know
- 24:22Speaker 3: that's the towel I have hanging in my kitchen.
- 24:24Speaker 2: No, I did it, I did it.
- 24:26Speaker 3: It's it's my little gray Home Goods towheld. I love
- 24:29Speaker 3: so much.
- 24:30Speaker 2: All the set decorators or shop at a have home goods,
- 24:33Speaker 2: I have that dowel. Oh too funny. Okay, I just
- 24:37Speaker 2: want to ask you quickly about the Italian Grandma's That's
- 24:40Speaker 2: what you talked about at the very beginning your first impression.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Do you remember we had a writer in her who
- 24:48Speaker 2: mentioned that she was a little bit offended.
- 24:51Speaker 3: By like the.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Bad Italian stereotypes. Yes, so I I really I hope
- 25:01Speaker 2: that she's listening, and I hope she writes into the
- 25:03Speaker 2: show because I'm really curious about what her opinions are
- 25:08Speaker 2: on this movie and then also the other movie that
- 25:12Speaker 2: we're going to review.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Amore.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yes, what her thoughts are there?
- 25:21Speaker 3: I do remember.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Exactly what we're talking about. I think that in this
- 25:26Speaker 1: movie they play up the stereotypes more than they do
- 25:29Speaker 1: and always Amore.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I'm just curious. I'm curious. So if you're listening, please
- 25:34Speaker 2: email us.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Indeed, are you ready to rate this movie? Yes?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Are we doing this new thing where we say it
- 25:41Speaker 2: at the same time again?
- 25:42Speaker 3: Oh?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Oh, okay, okay, three, two, one, four and a half stars?
- 25:48Speaker 3: Oh for real?
- 25:51Speaker 2: Five stars? Huh?
- 25:53Speaker 1: Actually I had four and a half in my head,
- 25:55Speaker 1: but I was like, that's gonna be hard to say
- 25:56Speaker 1: at the same time.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Oh god, you're so weird. I thought it was a
- 26:01Speaker 3: great movie. It was it perfect?
- 26:02Speaker 1: Maybe not, but it's definitely a four and a half
- 26:04Speaker 1: five star great Hallmark movie for me.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Me too. Like I said, Brava, that was good.
- 26:13Speaker 3: It was real good.
