Transcript
- 0:00Hello and welcome back to the Weekly Astrology Podcast where
- 0:03we light our candles, grab our blankets, get cozy and talk all
- 0:06things cosmos. I'm your host, astrologer and
- 0:08coach, Sarah Posh. And today brings us to the final
- 0:11new moon of 2025. It's the Sagittarius new moon.
- 0:15We finally arrived to the end of an era.
- 0:17This threshold not only of 2025 going into 2026, but the
- 0:21threshold of so many eras, so many outer planet ingresses that
- 0:26are changing so many dramatic shifts shifts of our lifetime
- 0:30are coming in this upcoming year 2026, which it's not too late if
- 0:34you miss registration for when the live event started on
- 0:37December 11th last week, you can still purchase it you'll still
- 0:39get those digital downloads to record and that digital
- 0:42companion workbook. So check out that link below.
- 0:44If you're somebody who missed the live event, but you're still
- 0:47Astro curious and getting resource and set up for the
- 0:50dramatic shifts coming in 2026. We're going to breakdown this
- 0:52Sagittarius new moon, which is starting at this final lunar
- 0:55cycle and also carrying us through the threshold of 2025
- 0:59into 2026. And then we're also going to
- 1:01talk a little bit about how there's kind of an act one and
- 1:04an act 2 of this lunar cycle. And then finally, I want to
- 1:08touch on, and I'll probably start here with the fact that
- 1:10there's something really interesting and unique happening
- 1:13right now with the astrology and illumination cycles.
- 1:15So let's go ahead, let's get cozy.
- 1:17If you haven't already, hit that like button, subscribe to the
- 1:20channel and turn your notifications on.
- 1:21Helps the channel helps me so much.
- 1:23And also that way you're never going to miss when a new episode
- 1:25comes out. Before we talk specifics about
- 1:27this sage new Moon, I need to inform you about this really
- 1:31interesting thing that's happening with illumination
- 1:33cycles. So typically when we have a new
- 1:35moon cycle, we have a new moon in let's say, Sagittarius and in
- 1:38the full moon corresponding to that new moon is typically in
- 1:41the polarity sign, which would be Gemini in this case.
- 1:44However, because of the recent Virgo solar eclipse back in
- 1:48September, remember we had two technical new moons in Virgo
- 1:52this year in 2025 that reset and tilted the lunar cycles so that
- 1:57that partial solar eclipse that happened in Virgo, the full moon
- 2:00moon in that cycle was an Aries, which is an aversion.
- 2:02It is not a sister sign. It's not even in a place where
- 2:05the Virgo placements or the new moon can see.
- 2:07And this is playing out. This is going to be true for all
- 2:10of the lunation cycles all the way until May 2027 when we get
- 2:14to the Taurus New moon. And I find this really
- 2:16interesting and I can really feel like this is a new moon,
- 2:19but it doesn't feel like a new moon.
- 2:21It actually feels like that Gemini full moon that we just
- 2:24had. If I tap into it, yes, it
- 2:26totally felt like a full moon and its energetic quality and
- 2:28the sense that it was big, big, it was emotional.
- 2:31There was a climax for sure, but it was also a starting point.
- 2:35And what if the full moons from here until May 2027 are actually
- 2:39the starting point for this next new moon cycle?
- 2:42So what do I mean by that? What I mean by that is think
- 2:45about what was going on for you a couple weeks ago when we had
- 2:47that Gemini full moon. What was coming to a climax?
- 2:50What was coming full circle? What was hitting some sort of
- 2:53major turning point or maybe an ending?
- 2:55And how is that informing the actual beginning point of this
- 2:58Sagittarius New Moon? Do you actually feel like
- 3:01hitting the Sagittarius New Moon at this point in the timeline
- 3:04and the trajectory that you are not starting something new, you
- 3:07are actually planting something, seeding your intention, seeding
- 3:11this cycle in response to what came up, what came through, what
- 3:15ended at the Gemini Full moon. Comment below.
- 3:17Tell me if any of this resonates.
- 3:19Tell me if you have any other thoughts or ideas about what
- 3:22this might mean. And then weaving that into the
- 3:24Sagittarius New Moon cycle. That means that when we get to
- 3:27that Cancer full Moon, the halfway mark of this lunation
- 3:29cycle in early January, I want to encourage us to maybe sit
- 3:33with and think about how that Cancer full moon is actually
- 3:36this pivot point, this turning point, and this seating and
- 3:39starting point that's going to influence what happens around
- 3:42that Capricorn new moon in mid to late January.
- 3:45So just something to pay attention to, something to take
- 3:47note of and maybe play around with, explore with curiosity.
- 3:50And again, comment below, I'd love if you have any ideas about
- 3:53this. I haven't personally dove into
- 3:55the investigation. I haven't gotten into my typical
- 3:57astrology rabbit holes of curiosity around this.
- 4:00I just kind of have been sitting with it and feeling with it so
- 4:02far. So I'll keep you in the loop as
- 4:04I continue to gather some data, collect some more information.
- 4:08We begin this cycle on Friday, December 19th with the
- 4:11Sagittarius New Moon at 28° of Sagittarius at 5:43 PM standard
- 4:17Pacific Time. This new Moon is sitting in a
- 4:20virgin to its ruler, Jupiter and Cancer.
- 4:22So the ruler, the host of this new moon, well, it's in a really
- 4:25good place. It's exalted, it's doing good
- 4:27things, it's helping, but it's helping in a behind the scenes
- 4:30way, an invisible way, a way that we might not feel like we
- 4:33can really grasp or understand or might require a deeper level
- 4:38of trust, surrender and acceptance.
- 4:41It's almost as if this exalted Jupiter is asking, just because
- 4:45you can't see it, can you trust it?
- 4:47I also think that this new moon is really these two-part acts
- 4:51that I talked about South Act one of the lunar cycle for the
- 4:54Sag new moon is the mutable squares to Saturn and Neptune.
- 4:57All of our planets that have been moving through Sagittarius
- 5:00have been making these squares, these grand finale waning
- 5:03squares to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces.
- 5:05It started with Mars last week. And at the time of this new
- 5:08moon, the sun in Sagittarius is on the cusp of completing that
- 5:11exact square to Neptune in Pisces.
- 5:13That's definitely baked into what this transit.
- 5:15If you want to know more about some of the nuances of the
- 5:18Saturn Neptune squares, I go into more depth about Saturn and
- 5:21Neptune and these squares in a previous episode on the channel.
- 5:24So go ahead and check those out if you're looking for more of
- 5:26that. But for the purpose of this
- 5:27episode, we're talking about really giving this bigger
- 5:31picture view or seeing this act one kind of compartmentalizing
- 5:35this cycle, immutable square. It's a Saturn and Neptune.
- 5:37They're in the waning square phase of the synodic cycle,
- 5:40which means it is the final quarter, the final turning point
- 5:43turning towards completion. It is bringing things to a
- 5:46close. It's letting things go.
- 5:47We can kind of think of it as a phase of refinement and a sense
- 5:51of integration and integrity testing.
- 5:54And this is so much more impact, so much more gravity like Saturn
- 5:58has in what's happening right now because it's tethered into
- 6:02the end of the Saturn Neptune cycle.
- 6:04Saturn and Neptune are going to make that conjunction and
- 6:06February 2026 and start a completely new cycle.
- 6:09So these squares are also informing these decision points
- 6:12of what was, what is, and what will be.
- 6:15We are crossing a threshold of a completely new beginning, a new
- 6:19era on the horizon with all of the outer planets changing signs
- 6:22and putting a stamp on where they're going to be and remain
- 6:25for decades to come. So these decisions, these
- 6:28judgement calls, these sacrifices that we're making
- 6:30right now, there is a true gravity to them.
- 6:33And so the word that was coming to me for the theme of this
- 6:35Sagittarius New moon is resolution, which I mean, seems
- 6:39kind of cliche because we're at the end of the year, New Year's
- 6:41resolutions. But because there's this Saturn,
- 6:44Neptune and fusion into this lunar cycle, these resolutions,
- 6:48these are not our surface level. I'm going to going to lose 5
- 6:51lbs. I'm going to start going to the
- 6:52gym. I'm going to stop drinking wine
- 6:55every single night. Like whatever our resolutions
- 6:58have been in the past. This is so much bigger than
- 7:00that. These resolutions have so much
- 7:02more gravity. And because Neptune is involved,
- 7:05the soul is involved. You might be feeling right now
- 7:07like thinking about your resolutions, your New Year's
- 7:09resolutions, those typical resolutions, they don't really
- 7:12have any sense of meaning or matter.
- 7:16And that's because Neptune is saying, yeah, you need to really
- 7:19get deeper with yourself, with your sense of what it is that
- 7:23you truly want, who it is that you truly are, what truly has
- 7:26meaning. And so the quote that I'm going
- 7:29to read for resolution comes from a Netflix series, The Fall
- 7:33of the House of Usher, the end of episode 1.
- 7:35There's two really good quotes on resolution.
- 7:37So even if you don't watch that show, highly encourage you to
- 7:39check out the scenes with these quotes.
- 7:41But the first one I want to read to you is, you know what a
- 7:44resolution is. Really, it's a deal you make
- 7:47with the future. Let's just pause there for a
- 7:50second. It's a deal you make with the
- 7:52future. How spot on is that for the
- 7:55Sagittarius New Moon? How spot on is that for this
- 7:57threshold of the dramatic changes we are ending when we
- 8:00walk out of 2025 into 2026? There is no going back.
- 8:04So what deals are you making with the future?
- 8:07And like any deal, any negotiation, any collaborative
- 8:11agreement, there's usually something we have to sacrifice
- 8:14or compromise on. And usually those sacrifices or
- 8:17compromises that we come into agreement on.
- 8:20Usually that clarity is anchored and the clarity of what we are
- 8:24absolutely unwilling to wait for on a depth of clarity on our non
- 8:29negotiables with the future is what's required right now and
- 8:32what will support you in moving through act one of the
- 8:35Sagittarius lunar cycle. And then I'll read the other
- 8:38quote to you. So resolution resolve means
- 8:41being unwavering, determined, a firm commitment to do something
- 8:45or not to do something with this Sagittarius New Moon moving into
- 8:49an immediate completion square to that Neptune in Pisces.
- 8:52This is not only about sacrifice and compromise.
- 8:56This is about surrender and deep acceptance.
- 8:59And that means there might be some hard goodbyes.
- 9:02That means that there might be a detachment or a letting go of
- 9:06what the choices are that other people make, the deals that
- 9:09people make, their resolutions that they make with their future
- 9:12right now. And so part of the judgement
- 9:15calls is allowing everyone the invitation, the opportunity and
- 9:20the sovereignty to make their own judgement calls, to make
- 9:24their own deals with the future and to let go of meeting the
- 9:29certainty, the attachment of who it is that comes with you or
- 9:33exactly how it all works out. If you anchor into your own
- 9:36integrity, your own sovereignty, and make that judgement call of
- 9:40what you are choosing for your future, the resolution, the deal
- 9:43that you're making with your future.
- 9:45And it's coming from a truly aligned place within yourself, a
- 9:49place that has true meaning and value, which is the absolute
- 9:52best thing that any of us can do right now, by the way.
- 9:56But that means that you need to focus on that and kind of blind
- 10:00yourself from any distraction, any desire to interfere with the
- 10:05decisions and the outcomes involving other people's
- 10:08judgement calls or decisions. And so this Sagittarius New
- 10:11Moon, it is our final act of recognizing what we're leaving
- 10:15in the past and what we're choosing for the future.
- 10:17And in this final act, the astrology is saying to all of us
- 10:21the future access of what it is that we desire, We're calling
- 10:25in, we're making that deal, our resolution, it's saying access
- 10:29granted, choice required. So maybe having that mantra in
- 10:33your back pocket throughout the end of December 2025 and
- 10:36beginning of January 2025, access granted, choice required.
- 10:41And the Saturn, Neptune conjunction, this new cycle
- 10:43that's starting, all of the new outer planet ingresses that are
- 10:46happening, these are all going to impact us personally in
- 10:49completely different ways because we all have different
- 10:51Natal charts, Natal context, and Natal promise.
- 10:54So I definitely encourage you, if you're somebody who wants to
- 10:56know more about how it's impacting you personally, not
- 10:59just these big collective shifts that we're talking about.
- 11:02There's a link below. You can book a one-on-one
- 11:04astrological consultation with me and we can get really deep,
- 11:07really personal and get really grounded and the timeline and
- 11:11the potential trajectory of these transits for you.
- 11:14So go ahead, It's linked below. You can check that out.
- 11:16With that, let's go ahead and move forward and talk about Act
- 11:182. So to get from Act one, we go
- 11:20from the Sagittarius mutable squares and every planet,
- 11:24including this New Moon is going to complete that square to
- 11:27Neptune and Pisces and then enter into Capricorn.
- 11:30We go into Act 2, which is this cardinal coalition.
- 11:33We go from the sign of Sagittarius, which is the sign
- 11:37that is bending towards the light.
- 11:38It is in that phase of the season that is transitioning us
- 11:41out of the season of darkness and turning us towards the
- 11:44season of light. The winter solstice is the point
- 11:46in the season where for the first time in months and
- 11:49seasons, light conquers dark. We start to turn towards the
- 11:53light. The light, the hours of our day,
- 11:56begins to grow longer and longer, brighter and stronger
- 11:59with each day that passes. And so this cardinal coalition,
- 12:03because all those plants are literally coming together in the
- 12:07sign of Capricorn in January, and they're all going to also
- 12:10begin a new synodic cycle with the sun in Capricorn.
- 12:13So we're not only starting this cycle of light conquering
- 12:17darkness, we're also starting new cycles literally with all of
- 12:22the personal planets. So Act 2, this cardinal
- 12:24coalition cardinal is the modality of initiating.
- 12:28So it begins, it starts something, it's quick, its
- 12:31movement is directionally forward.
- 12:33And Capricorn, this cardinal Earth sign ruled by the planet
- 12:36Saturn, it is here to build, it is here to scaffold, it is here
- 12:40to create and move towards something with lasting value and
- 12:45impact. It's creating a legacy from a
- 12:47solid foundation. So there is a promise in the
- 12:50Sagittarius cycle. If we show up, if we make these
- 12:53judgement calls, these resolutions with the depth of
- 12:56meaning and true clarity and value personally, then Act 2
- 13:01promises A readiness to start building and bringing it into
- 13:04form, into reality. We'll get more into the Act 2
- 13:07cardinal coalition as we move forward.
- 13:09So be sure you're subscribed, you get your notifications
- 13:11turned on because we're going to cover all of that in the
- 13:13episodes to come of this lunar cycle.
- 13:15Let's go ahead. So I had to get back to the
- 13:16transits that are happening after the Sagittarius new Moon.
- 13:18So just after the Sagittarius new Moon on Friday, on Saturday,
- 13:21December 20th, the moon is going to enter into Capricorn, joining
- 13:25Mars. And it may be giving us a little
- 13:26preview of some of the exalted battle plans or architectural
- 13:31designs that Mars and Capricorn is foreshadowing and keeping
- 13:35safe and ready for when the coalition is ready to arrive and
- 13:39proceed forward. And then on Saturday, with that
- 13:41moon in Capricorn, we also have Mercury in Sagittarius making
- 13:44that square to the nodes at 11 degrees.
- 13:46So it's hitting that nodal bending.
- 13:48It's a reactivation of the Gemini full Moon, especially
- 13:51since Mercury was the ruler of that full moon.
- 13:53The Sun in Sagittarius completes that square to Neptune in Pisces
- 13:56at 29° and then passes that baton to Venus in Sagittarius,
- 14:01making that exact square to Saturn in Pisces at 25°.
- 14:05So Saturday, the day after this new moon, the day after we put a
- 14:09stamp on the deals we're making with the future and the blind
- 14:13unknown of that Sagittarius new moon in the darkness, Saturday
- 14:17starts moving a lot of pieces, potentially pieces in the places
- 14:21where we can't see, so invisible places happening behind the
- 14:24scenes. And also it's calling us, it's
- 14:27confronting us to start that process, those judgment calls
- 14:30with Venus. Venus is the planet of our
- 14:33social contracts, our pleasure, our desire.
- 14:36Venus is our relationships oftentimes.
- 14:38And it can also talk about value in the sense of if we come into
- 14:42a partnership or social engagement and we have a certain
- 14:44standard of exchange, those exchanges, those agreements,
- 14:48right? Venus is here to bring something
- 14:50that feels fair, that feels balanced, that feels good and
- 14:53pleasurable. Like, I can't wait to hang out
- 14:56with that person because every time I see them, I leave and I
- 14:58feel even better versus when Venus hangs out with that person
- 15:02where every time Venus leaves, she's so drained because the
- 15:05balance is not fair. The exchange is not equal.
- 15:08In fact, it's tipped in a tilt that is totally depreciating the
- 15:12value of Venus. So I think on Saturday, if I
- 15:16could give you any words of encouragement, there's a lot of
- 15:19confusion. There's a lot of unknown in the
- 15:21air with the nodal bending and the sun square Neptune.
- 15:25But there is something with that Venus square Saturn that is
- 15:28obvious, that is clear, that is leaving no room for doubt.
- 15:32And with the Moon, the other relational planet in Capricorn,
- 15:36it feels like Saturday is asking us to ground into the Earth the
- 15:40reality and make those sovereign choices.
- 15:44To really anchor into what it is that we are choosing for
- 15:48ourselves, that we are so clear are non negotiable and to let
- 15:52the messiness of anything else that's happening, let that all
- 15:56wash and dissolve and cleanse around and in response to the
- 16:01decision of that Venus square Saturn.
- 16:03And again, this is Venus now making this resolution, this
- 16:06deal with the future around what is her non negotiable, what it
- 16:09is that she is willing to sacrifice, let go or say
- 16:13goodbye, leave somebody. The choice to choose a different
- 16:16timeline in honor of what she is choosing for herself and having
- 16:20that Sun square Neptune at the same time as Venus square's
- 16:23Saturn. This also feels helpful in the
- 16:25sense that there might be an ability to tap into a deeper
- 16:29compassion in the process of letting something go or making
- 16:33those tough calls, those tough boundaries and endings when it
- 16:37comes to our relationships or any kind of agreements that we
- 16:40come into with somebody who's born with a Sun Neptune, I can
- 16:43say on its best day, it has the ability to dissolve any ego
- 16:48barriers so that my heart can expand and touch and feel and
- 16:53understand from a true place of compassion and acceptance.
- 16:56The Sun Neptune reminds me that we are all connected.
- 17:00We are all worthy and deserving of safety, of love and of
- 17:04connection. And it reminds me to let go of
- 17:07judgments, let go of attachments, and to let people
- 17:10go with love. So Saturday is this letting go
- 17:13with love. It is this blessing and
- 17:15releasing. It is a making a deal with the
- 17:18future and matters of the heart, making those decisions and
- 17:22releasing whatever it is that is not meant to come with us.
- 17:26And on Sunday we get the Winter Solstice.
- 17:28And I love this time of year. The Sun enters into Capricorn on
- 17:33Sunday, December 21st and again this is the moment the solstice,
- 17:37the marking of light, conquering darkness for the first time.
- 17:41Light is taking over darkness and we are not only turning
- 17:44towards light like we were in Sagittarius, but now we are
- 17:47actually traveling forward, moving towards more light.
- 17:51Do you have any winter solstice rituals or things that you like
- 17:54to do to celebrate this turn of the season, this time of the
- 17:57year? Comment below and share your
- 17:59favorite winter solstice ritual if you have one.
- 18:01I personally like to spend the winter solstice in solitude and
- 18:06in darkness. The ritual of amplifying the
- 18:11Lantern of the light within myself, the warmth and the
- 18:14connection to my own inner light, and taking time to
- 18:18reflect on what was the richness of the darkness behind me.
- 18:22What was it that the darkness allowed me to feel, to process,
- 18:27or maybe to see with new eyes. So it's actually a ritual of
- 18:31honoring the darkness, connecting to the light that was
- 18:35always there inside and almost turning that Lantern, that flame
- 18:40up, just a not amplifying it to move forward with it.
- 18:43So that's my kind of personal thing.
- 18:44I'd love to hear if you have something comment below, let us
- 18:47know. And then next week takes us into
- 18:49the end of Venus completing Act one on Tuesday, December 23rd.
- 18:54The Moon's going to be an Aquarius and Venus completes
- 18:57that exact square to Neptune and Pisces at 29 degrees.
- 18:59So the beginning of next week, expect to feel a little bit of
- 19:03that Neptunian fog, maybe a sense of exhaustion.
- 19:06There might be even some collusion around the
- 19:09relationships that shows up, or a need for space to grieve and
- 19:12process, allowing the feelings to flow through us without
- 19:16needing to grasp them and diagnose them or fix them and
- 19:19change them. If Venus square Saturn was the
- 19:22moment where we made the deal, we had the resolution and we put
- 19:25the stamp on our decisions, then Tuesday is the moment where the
- 19:29reality might really sink in. This might be the moment where
- 19:32the actual wave of the emotional processing of what it is that
- 19:36was put into motion over the weekend and the New moon.
- 19:38Now we start to really feel it. So be mindful and tender to your
- 19:42heart and to anything that's coming up, anything that you're
- 19:45feeling. Venus, Neptune is really, really
- 19:47good for channeling any kind of big emotions into something
- 19:51creative. So if you have any sort of
- 19:53artistic or creative medium that you like to work with, dropping
- 19:56into the containers of those creative spaces can be really,
- 19:59really supportive and constructive for moving through
- 20:02that otherwise messy and emotional Venus square Neptune.
- 20:06And then finally on Wednesday at December 24th, the moon shifts
- 20:09into Pisces on the same day that Venus enters into Capricorn.
- 20:12And as the Moon enters into Pisces, we get a weaving of the
- 20:16ACT 1, the reckoning of resolutions that Mars, the Sun
- 20:21and Venus at this point have made with Saturn, Neptune, the
- 20:25Moon. Is going to not only weave them
- 20:27together, but potentially start shifting and moving and weaving
- 20:31changes in our everyday circumstances, relationships and
- 20:34environment to match and manifest the reality of those
- 20:37resolutions. So that brings us to the
- 20:39conclusion of this week's episode of the beginning of Act
- 20:42one with the Sagittarius New Moon.
