- 0:00Good morning. Good morning world.
- 0:01AJ here, bringing you get another episode of the e1b to
- 0:05collect a podcast. I want to talk about A/B Testing
- 0:09as pertains to employee training.
- 0:11This is going to be a very quick to 30-minute episode.
- 0:14There's an organization from the believe, they're from like the
- 0:18Dutch area. I forget what country continent
- 0:21region has a large population of Dutch, but there was a company
- 0:26out there. I believe it was called FM.
- 0:30CG retailer. And what they did is they use
- 0:33people analytics data, feedback from employees, to do A/B,
- 0:37Testing around employee training.
- 0:39They wanted to drive more sales. They wanted to drive more
- 0:42productivity within more productivity, as well as
- 0:45efficiency within their individual department stores.
- 0:49And I believe they wanted to look at they wanted to, they
- 0:54wanted to look at the productivity and the skill set
- 0:58in the alignment of new hire. There's over the first 90 days.
- 1:02I wanted to kind of get that number down to those new hires,
- 1:05being up to productivity, or up to speed after 55 or 60 days and
- 1:09not the full 90, right? So those were areas of
- 1:12trainings, they wanted to negatively Implement.
- 1:14Now, instead of what most organizations do spend a lot of
- 1:17time with our D spent, a lot of time developing one system, one
- 1:22best practice one structure of lnd with this organization
- 1:26decided to do is we do what is to do an a/b testing?
- 1:29So, oh, in my eyes, what I look at is this is more of an
- 1:32employee first methodology, and framework, they built out, a
- 1:36couple different modes of trainings.
- 1:38Some of those trainings were Keynotes.
- 1:40Some of those trainings were online modules, some of those
- 1:43trainings were Fireside Chats. Some of those trainings.
- 1:48May have been one-on-one conversations being ramped up
- 1:51with managers within some of these newer hires some of those
- 1:55trainings. Maybe reworking and
- 1:57restructuring the onboarding, there are a multitude of things.
- 2:00They decided to look at to recreate and unpack but
- 2:03inevitably they came down to two different trainings.
- 2:06Now what they did is they administer these trainings,
- 2:08allow these employees to experience these trainings and
- 2:11they leaned on the employees to give them feedback around two
- 2:14very simple variables number one, which of these trainings
- 2:17the employees. Just internally felt better
- 2:19about, from an engagement perspective, from our morale
- 2:22perspective, from a, just a feeling as a gut feeling as well
- 2:27as an, you know, information retention.
- 2:29Perspective. And then what they did is, they
- 2:32decided to whatever one was more engaging, more more competence
- 2:36was being able to be captured within a sudden the faster
- 2:40period of time. They leaned on the employees
- 2:42feedback to be able to give them that inside, give them that
- 2:45perspective, give them that thought.
- 2:47And I love the fact that this organization did that, because
- 2:50here's my biggest problem with lnd Island, he's important being
- 2:54able to test and measure and understand the skills and
- 2:56capabilities to be able to move and grow and build a bigger
- 2:59organization. Is key, but if you're not
- 3:01leaning on your employees, to give you the personal roadmap,
- 3:04the inside of which training is going to be most influential,
- 3:08most impactful, most empathetic, and most engaging for them.
- 3:12Personally, you're never gonna get the ROI on the training that
- 3:15you want. So think about employees first,
- 3:18consider A/B Testing when it comes to employee training.
- 3:21We'll talk soon.
