- Douglas, we are 10 days away from Grand Slam Australia, and that is pretty much the theme of this week's Dynamite. Yes, it was. And you could feel it. Although, i don't think it was a terrible thing. You could. No, I don't think so either. I mean, coming into the show, I was like, I bet all of this is going to sit around building Grand Slam Australia because that's their next big show. And oh, look at that. That's how pretty much how it went. Let me just say, before we even kick into Dynamite tonight, we may seriously consider start looking at Collision, because I watched this past week, and what... it it I thought it was a phenomenal show this past week. I i don't know what it was about Collision. i thought Collision was better than last week's Dynamite. but And by far. They... they're they're clearly trying to ramp that up. And I don't know if that is a, ah what's the word I'm looking for? I don't know if that's like a side effect of the Warner brothers discovery, Netflix deal, because who knows what their future is going to be once that goes through. you know what i mean? Like, I don't, I don't know if it's a side effect of that or if they've just let it kind of languish for too long. Right. So now they're trying to, react I don't know, but clearly stuff is happening. Uh-oh. Oh, oh, oh. We'll be editing that. Clearly stuff is happening on collision. So yeah, we may have to pay more attention to it. And it, it seriously, it was a really good show. And it made me think, man, we may have to start doing a ah second show. Maybe not like, maybe like post it Monday, doing a collision recap because so much went on that led to tonight. Right. Right. And, and I was glad that they did the actual, um, that they were doing recaps of what happened, you know, video recaps and all that stuff, because you cannot assume people watched it. Yes. I thought that was good. that was smart that they were doing that. Mm-hmm. Yeah, i thought I thought they did some things differently tonight that I really liked. I thought the beginning of the show was rather odd. with the Okay. Interesting. All right. Let's talk about that then. Okay. that Because they didn't do what normally they just boom right and right into the action. h But they did multiple backstage little mini interviews. You know what I thought was funny? A bunch of them, you could tell they recorded in their hotel rooms if you look in the background. Oh, MJF clearly was in someone's hotel room. Yeah, Babes of Wrath were too, yeah. Yeah. So it was fine because they were short, but it just felt odd. I was like, well, this is a new twist, which, meh. Interesting. I liked it. I liked the quick promos. I thought, you know, everybody got their point across really nicely. I didn't have a problem with any of the promos, and I thought it did a really good job of telling you, here's the card for tonight. Because what I liked about that was normally they rely on either. Well, really, they rely on both. You see the card on social media, which is a gamble if anybody sees it. And then Excalibur doing his, I'm not going to breathe for three minutes while I scream the card at you, which has driven me nuts from day one. Yeah. Like, I don't like when they do that because he starts going so fast that you can't process the information anyway. Right. So I liked this. I thought it was a clever way to do it. I don't get me wrong. I think it was fine. it just struck me. So we, it was such a odd gear shift for me. Like, cause they haven't done anything like that before, or at least not in a long time that I even remember. And to have so many bing, bang, boom, I was like, what? I was just, I think I was just a little surprised, but it ties in with some of the other stuff that I really liked about the show. So in retrospect, it was, it's better looking back on it in the moment. I was like, What? But yes, it was a much better way of setting the show up than having Excalibur not breathe. so Yeah. Well, yeah. Boy, we got close there. I was i was about to say, well, it took 12 episodes, but I was about to be like, Doug, you're wrong, but we didn't quite get there. You saved it at the end by agreeing with me. Well done. Thank you. Thank you. Yep. Also, no Taz this week. no ta Yeah, but you know what's funny? I didn't notice that until like halfway through the show. Yes. Yes. and And all of a sudden I went, wait a minute, it's only Excalibur and Tony. Yep. Same. Huh. Same. right before Right before the Kenny match. I was like, hold on. Dude, that's it. There's no... Yeah, ah they did like a shot um and and they had shown him a bunch of times and it just didn't register with me, but they did a shot that was like ah a wide shot of of the ring. Mm-hmm. has And I went, wait a minute. There's only two guys at the desk. Yeah. Huh? Yeah. Because they did a, um at one point, Hangman and Mark Davis were outside in front of the desk. And that's why I was like, wait a minute. Yeah. Taz should be yelling something. He's not being obnoxious. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. But like you said, didn't miss him. and And I, no, I, that's exactly what I was about to say. Like, I think it's very telling that it took me a minimum of an hour for the show before I went, wait a minute, Taz isn't there, which is too bad. Uh-huh. Cause I really used to like Taz, but used to, yeah. Like you said, missing Taz, like noticing Taz was gone actually made me miss Brian Danielson. Yeah, and i I know he's not really traveling because he had said um that it's really hard on his neck. Mm-hmm. So I get that. And then also, spoiler, if you haven't watched the Royal Rumble, Bree went back. So I'm sure that messed with their schedule. Did you really not see that? I didn't watch the rumble at all. but Well, no, I didn't watch the Rumble, but, you know, I mean, it's been on the interwebs. I didn't see that Brie Bella was back. No. Well, I take it back. Yeah, she was a surprise entrant. I did see something, and it but it just went, oh, okay. And then i you know something finally happened and I forgot. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, i don't i don't particularly care, but good for her. I mean, you good good for them. I mean, her sister came back earlier in the year, or so it was only a matter of time. Yeah. I mean, good for them. Have fun. Legitimately have fun, but I don't i don't care. and Yeah. cash those jack i mean Anyway, Deathriders and the Don Callis family. They kicked us off match-wise anyway with the trios match. What would what did you think about that? um I thought it was fine. I thought it was a solid little match. I can tell you this. pack versus clone. Give me that. I want to see more of that. Yeah. I don't think they had the smoothest of interactions, but if they get their timing down, holy crap, those are going to be some barn burner matches. At one point, Takeshita and Mox were playing no cell games in the middle of the ring, and that was kind of fun. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't hate it. yeah Mox took a dive outside. You don't see that every day, so that was kind of fun. He's doing a lot more of that, even though if you remember, ah it was one of our earlier episodes where he did that dive and you and I were like, oh, my God, he almost died. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Like and so, he of course, he's just like, let me do it more than. I will say... There was a little bit, it was so it was subtle, but I thought it was really good from Daniel Garcia. They're in the corner. I don't remember who they have. I think was Takeshita in the corner. And he's kicking his head, but he's not even doing it hard. He's just like, meh, meh. Just like, see what I can do to you? See what I can do to you? See what I can do to you? That was me. see what i And then he stops, and then Takeshita goes to get up, and he just grabs his hair and pulls him back. Just those little... like just obnoxious heel things he was doing, i thought was really kind of cool for him, giving him a little, just a little bit of, you know, a little bit of personality. hello I thought, I just thought it was funny. i was like, look at him. That's funny. yeah little bit of edge there yeah no i mean i i liked the match i really enjoyed it it it you know i was hesitant to give it a potential match of the night designation in my notes because it was the first match and i knew kenny omega was on the card as well um That's all. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But I really liked it. I thought i thought it was well-paced in terms of of the match. I thought they moved around really well. I thought Mox was moving around really well. I thought he looked really good tonight. on hunt um I'm with you on Pac and El Cologne. Everything El Cologne did in that looked so good. I thought, man... he's, he's got star potential for sure. Like he looked really good in it to Kesha looked great. I like ah building out the him and Mox feud um that it seems like we're headed towards and they don't have to do that in Australia. They can let that slow burn to revolution. So um I liked it. enough Yeah. I thought all the way around. Good match. I thought everybody looked good in it. Well done, gentlemen. Well done. And I, and I thought Daniel Garcia looked good. I thought that little bit of personality in the corner, the fact that he kicked out of that to catch the driver into the suplex was, Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. dunning Like, I was like, good job. They are they are making Daniel Garcia. They're making him an actual part of the Deathriders. They're not just making him. He ate the pin, but he looked really good doing it. yeah So i was I was happy for it. yeah And I just wrote down clean win for the Don Callis family. And then nothing after the match. I was a little surprised that... Nothing transpired after the match that, you know, Deathriders just went, okay, and left. You didn't see Judah. Yeah. You didn't see Claudio come in. i was a little shocked that that didn't happen. Yeah, I agree. I thought there would be some, I thought there would be some extracurriculars there. um Yep. i think the, when I, after the match ended, i kind of started thinking to myself, I think part of why it was paced the way that it was, which again, I liked, but it was it was fast. I mean, they were flying around. I think part of why they did that is this show is really about the world title scene. Oh, yeah. And they wanted to make sure that they had plenty of time for those matches and those promos. Yep. Yep. That's really what this was about. So I think that that's why you didn't get the post-match stuff. um Now, there was something that happened later in the show that I think a scuffle between the Don Callis family and Deathriders would have been better than, but we'll get to that. Yep, that's fine. I did notice it was during this match that I was like, oh, there's a live countdown to the Omega-Andrade match, which I thought was interesting. So even during the opening match, they're letting you know this match is coming up. You know what's funny? Did you notice that? No, I totally missed that. In the upper right-hand corner, it said like 53 minutes, and it had and it was counting down, and it had their their faces on it. I don't think Somehow I completely missed that. I don't think the announcers mentioned it. They might've said, you know, still to come, but like that count. No. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I think it's the only time they did it. It was during that match, popped it up at about the 53, 54 minute mark. And I thought, huh? Yeah. Interesting. Interesting. I might go back and watch for that then. But I think a lot of what you're seeing them do, because they they have done... they flirted with some things like that in the past. And I think a lot of what you're seeing them do, and I think the opening promo whip around is kind of what I'm calling it, is part of this as well. Like it. They're gonna throw some stuff at the wall to see what sticks here because I think they're trying to figure out ways to make sure that they're gonna pull you through every segment of the show. Mm-hmm. And now that's the goal of every TV show But I'm wondering if they've got some some data, some ratings data that said they need to put more of a focus on that. And that's probably part of them trying to figure that out would be my guess. Right. Yeah. But what's interesting is I didn't even notice it. So how well did it really work? Well, like I don't think it was up there for very long. And i don't know how I caught it, but I did. and I was just like, huh, that's weird. Yeah. Hmm. And then. I mean, sometimes I miss some things anyway because, you know, a dog jumps in my face or something. So it could have been could have been that. Really? Yeah, it could have been. Yeah. Yeah. After that, we got the swerve backstage, which I really liked that he didn't say a word. Yep. Loved it. Thought it was really good. I really have nothing else to say. I really liked that. Yeah. Yeah. I just wrote swerve interview and that's it because it was, it was, it was perfect. He didn't need to say anything. Yeah. Comes out. Let's let's Prince Donna do the talking. Loved it. who they're like, ain't going anywhere in and out done. Yeah. And his non-verbals I thought were really good. He told you everything you needed to know and without saying a word. I did write down, makes me wonder what's next for him. Yep. We would find out, but we're not there yet. I actually, at that point I wrote down. and And then I wrote it down again later. Are we smelling a swerve, swerve to heal again? Interesting. maybe. Simply because that's the first sign of real showing real frustration with the situation. maybe Showing real frustration with he's out of the current title picture for the moment. yeah And then with what happens later, it all makes a little bit more sense. But yeah. Interesting. I had not thought of that, but i don't I don't think you're wrong on that one. Then they came... i believe they came back from a break then with the Osprey vignette. Yep. All I wrote down was Squee, because I feel like you don't do that vignette unless he's getting... Yes. somewhat close to showing up on TV. Yep. And that makes me a very happy boy. And as a point of note on collision, his girlfriend, whose name is escaping Alex wind Windsor, she was in a vignette Alex Windsor. with Jamie Hayter, and they're now going to be a tag team. Okay. So i was like, okay, Osprey's girlfriend's making an appearance and in having a more prominent role. Now we get the Osprey vignette. I like that. And that, the the vignette itself was one of the many things I liked. I liked that they're showing... the Will Osprey story. Let's not forget about Will. He's here. Maybe he's coming back soon. Probably. But they had a couple of other video packages. I think one was with ah Michael Knight. ah Kevin. I know it's Kevin. Kevin Knight. I know it's Kevin. They had one with Kevin Knight. I thought that was really good. Showing his, you know, showing his, reminding you, this is what he's doing. Mm-hmm. This is why Kevin Knight is who he is. Yeah. This is why Jet Speed is, you know. So I think they did a little better job this night with their packages of Reminding you, kevin Knight might not be on the show, but he's tagged team he's part of the trios champs. He's great. Here's why. Yada, yada. I thought they did a better job of reminding you of those things, keeping them in the front of your mind so that when you see them in a week or on Saturday, you're not like, where the hell they been? yeah So I just, i I liked the packaging tonight. Really, I thought they did a better job with it. No, I agree with you. and And my thought on all that was I thought the vignettes were good. I just was like, it's further evidence that Tony listens because what did we say? Yeah. More vignettes. Vignettes are good. Mm-hmm. I like them. Yep. And oh, look what happened. And by the way, last week we picked up ah at least one listener in Australia, which feels like not a coincidence to me. Yep. Like maybe he was over there doing some business with them being that close to the show and he was listening from Australia. All right. I am convinced you're listening, Tony Khan. Thanks, Tony. You remember us. Hey, we appreciate you, bud. You've met us, Tony. Yeah. Yeah. we're we were We're in your hometown, man. We appreciate you, buddy. Yeah. You know us. Appreciate you, man. After that, Orange Cassidy and Tony Storm versus what I called Jabroni A and Jabroni B. I don't think I ever caught a name in there. Yep. Mm-hmm. They said the woman's name, and I've forgotten it. I will say this is she she had more in-ring time than the girl, that went because they did another mixed tag on Collision. And i I'm not kidding. The girl tags in. Tony knocks her out of the ring. The girl never comes back. That was it. She didn't get any moves. it She did nothing. Nothing. And so this chick at least got to do stuff a little. Yeah, I mean, I didn't have a problem with it. I thought it kind of funny when the dude squared off with Orange Cassidy and was doing some decent heel stuff and Orange was kind of playing around with him a little bit. I didn't have a problem with it. I just don't understand why they do these matches because they're over. Like you don't need to establish orange Cassidy and Tony storm. It's very difficult to be more over with the AEW audience than those two people are. So I think they don't have much for them right now, so why not put them together? they're i love i love this coupling. I love this pairing. I love Tony Storm and Denim, by the way. That was dope. Yeah, I thought that was why I wrote that down too, yeah. Yeah. um And it's all leading up to them taking on Yuta and Shafir, which, by the way, again, they show the angle on Collision where Tony Storm freaks out and challenges them to whoever eats the pin gets their head shaved. Yeah. And so if you didn't know that, then Orange reacting weirdly when he would touch the dude's bald head, was weird and because they didn't explain it until after that happened. Yeah. Now here's, here's what I'll say is I knew that that was coming. Cause I think I saw it on social media or something, but to me, him kind of, id if you didn't know, it felt like orange Cassidy was just messing with the guy by touching his head like that. Yes. Right? Like it felt very orange Cassidy, the promo after the match explained it commentary did explain it as well. Yes. So I'll, you know, I think they did a pretty good job of filling you in. Yes. um I just, i just don't, I don't know how necessary that was. That could have just been a promo. Yeah. i don't know. Yeah. I'm not complaining about it. I know it sounds like I am. I don't have an issue with it, but they do this sometimes where they take established stars and have them basically squash people that you're never going to see again. And it just, Would, you know, would that have been better served as a short, but impactful tag match with the new guys that you really like whose names I've already forgotten? Cause we haven't seen them since they took on FTR. And I'm i'll I'll reserve comment on that because I'm already not happy with what they're doing with them. yeah But that's okay. They haven't given them a tag team name. That's, They used to be in GCW. They call them Busta and the Brain. um But Jordan Oliver and Alec Wright, I believe is what his last name is. They're both great. I like them. But i don't I don't like what's happening with them already. But that's whatever. I don't want to get involved with that. Well, again, Tony listens. I will say with this, with this, with this, put them in the ring. This your chance. They should have gotten the win. They, they, they took on. uh, what's the, oh, can't Leo rush and his partner. Oh, ah yeah, action Andretti crew, I believe, is what they call them. Yes. Crew. Yeah. I didn't see it, but apparently they took on crew and lost. But then the Rascals took on crew on collision and looked great and won. So I'm like, what are you doing? What are you doing? Don't do that. Yeah, that's that's weird. That doesn't. Okay. But with this with Tony Storm and with Orange Cass, I actually wrote, those two are great. Squash match. But it did what it needed to do, which is remind you that they're going to have a big match. Sure. And it's hair versus hair. And it was entertaining. And I liked that. Plus, when she says, going look like an angry penis, still fine. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I mean, look, like I said, at the end of the day, i I enjoyed it for what it was. It just made me wonder, was there another way you could have attacked that? Because let let me tell you how I would have structured this show. Okay. Yep. I like the vignettes and everything. I think that a promo of Orange Cassidy and Tony Storm, basically the promo that we got after the match in place of the Statlander promo, and then you put a match, and again, doesn't have to be a crazy long match, but you know a match in place of them squashing Jabroni A and B where you can showcase a Kevin Knight or you can showcase... okay the guys who, again, I don't remember their names. ah You know, like you could put the rascals on dynamite, which you haven't done yet. Yeah. I mean, I'm just wondering if, if when you don't have a ton of time, you got to make it all count. Yep. And I don't know if that was the best use of it. That's really my only thought on it. My only guess is because the people we've mentioned aren't going to be involved in the Australia pay-per-view, they didn't bother. Hmm. Sure. know saying? Yeah. Yep. No, I get that. Yeah, I get that. But regardless, you know, you're you are correct. They probably could have handled that differently. I, on the other hand, was very entertained by and was okay with that time. Yeah, I mean, again, i didn't, I'm nitpicking a bit here because, again, as I was watching it, i was like, but i mean I don't have a problem with it. Yeah. It's kind of fun. But in hindsight, I'm just curious. it's it's It's a question that I would legitimately ask of Tony Khan, you know. Yeah. And what it does is it does run the risk. The more we see it, the quicker we'll get burnout on it because it is, it does have a very, it's got a shelf life and it's not real long. a Yep. um and Now we've seen the dancing in the middle and them giving the elbows and coming back in the center. Yep. We've seen that now four times at least. Well, and if you're not going to do more mixed tag stuff, which, I mean, I get it. Yep. You don't really have a ton of options on that right now, but if you're not going to do more of that, if you're not going to make that a thing, then... I would make it special. And I think to your point, it's risking becoming not special. Yeah. Yeah. Especially with those two, because like you said, you've got these two super over stars. You pair them together. Of course, that's going to be magic in the ring. But they should be an Andre the Giant type. Yep. you don't You don't bring them out every dime. Or at least you don't put them in the ring every time. Yeah. Put them on TV. Sure. Put them on TV every week. Sure. Yeah. Meet them in the ring every week. Yep. So after that, we got the Darby getting jumped by the War Dogs. They committed a crime. They committed a crime. They did. They did. Here's what I wrote down about it. Okay. And see, this, again, this is where I wish they would... That's it. in i They did show some vignettes from Collision. They did not show enough background because Clark Connors had a hell of a match with Darby on Collision and looked amazing. And after that match... His tag partner, whose name I forget, came out and they, yeah, they, they jumped Darby and they beat him up. Gabe And then they're like, you know, i haven't forget this isn't over. He's like, basically, this isn't over yet. Darby. It's not over. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you got that setup right there. But again, we don't see it. We just open on, he's getting kidnapped. He's thrown in a trunk and you got a guy you haven't seen yet on dynamite driving the car. You missed him being a bad-ass. You know, while I thought they did a good job of highlighting, you know, Kevin Knight, we should have had a vignette before we saw this about Clark Connors whipping Darby's ass. yep No, I, yep. Wouldn't have tough, you know. I agree with you. Cause it did. I was confused and I'll be honest with you. I didn't know. i don't know who Clark Connors is. Yeah, and you would have. I don't like I had heard of the war dogs, but that was all I had heard of. I i know Gabe kid, ah which by the way, if they signed him, like what is going on here? I don't think he... Is he still part of new Japan? Cause I can't tell. Yeah. Well, I know they just signed Clark Connors after that match on Collision. I did read that. But I don't know if he went by Clark Connors in New Japan or not because he used to tag in New Japan. yeah But I don't remember that's what he went by. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, that's just, i guess, a curiosity more than anything, but I agree with you. They got to do something here also. Okay. I get it. Gabe kid hates Darby and vice versa. I'm going to say what I've said a lot about Darby lately. I don't, I don't care. yeah I'm sorry. I don't care. Like I get it. There's going to be a match between some combination of these three guys probably at revolution because I guess they could book it in the next nine days now. But, um, well, guess that's true. Well, they have to find Darby first. Yeah. He was left for dead. Has anyone called the cops yet? That's what I want to know. It's a really important question. Anybody? Really important question. Anybody? Anybody? I'm holding a phone, but I'm not going to do it. Hmm. You know why? Cause I don't care. No, that would make sense then. Yes, that would make sense. Like, I get it. There's probably go to be pay-per-view match, and I'm i'm probably going watch and be like, damn, that was a good match. Yeah, and it will be. I'm not going I don't care about the story. Mm-hmm. I don't care. Mm-hmm. I don't care. I'm sorry. I don't. That's okay. Yep. um Then we got Hangman and Mark Davis, which I assume Mark Davis got put into this because Jake Doyle apparently tore his bicep last week in the tag match. Oh no, I didn't see that. Yeah, i saw it I saw it online the next day that there's an angle um when Yuda came and swept him like swept his legs out. You can hear Doyle go, I just tore my bicep. Oh balls. Yeah, so he's gonna be out for a while and that sucks. um It does suck. And obviously wish him all the best, that sucks. Mm-hmm. So I get, okay, you've been trying to build Mark Davis, keep the momentum going, but from a kayfabe standpoint, what I wrote down here was, why is Mark Davis now involved in this? Because if you're doing a tournament that's not a tournament, which is kind of what this is, And I get that you had been advertising Omega and Andrade, but like, I don't know, man. I i feel like, Well, was this technically a qualifier? Was this just match? yes, because they, could well, but this is what didn't make any sense about it is they kept saying that if hangman wins, he goes to Australia, but it was never if Mark Davis wins, he goes to Australia. I thought he was going anyway. Yeah. I thought Hangman was going anyway from his... That's what I thought. Oh. That's what I thought. But they said a bunch. If Hangman wins it, he will take on the winner of Omega and Andrade in Australia. but that But that was not reciprocal to Mark Davis. So again, when you look at this from a kayfabe perspective, it doesn't make a ton of sense. No. No. Other than you got to try and beat the big guy. And I missed that angle part. I totally missed that part of the, I wasn't apparently not paying attention to what they were saying. Yeah. Cause that, that was lost on me that that was somehow related to the title picture. It just... Yeah, it just didn't make it a lot of sense to me from that standpoint. I know that there had been the stuff on social media that I think they kind of I don't think this was planned. I think they jumped on it where when they announced a match, MJF like went on and said, you know, basically tagged Don Callis of I'll give him a thousand bucks if he, you know, if you hurt him, if you hurt hangman, which they referenced. Maybe that? Okay. And then they said Andrade, I guess, said he would like add or two or double it or something. I don't know. I didn't see that, but I saw the MJF stuff, ah which was funny because Don replied with, ah you're missing some zeros, but he misspelled zeros. And MJF was like, and you're missing an R. So, but ah But i don't, I don't know. Thank you, MJF. It just, it was like, okay, I guess this is now part of it. I mean, look, otherwise good match. I'm not going to complain about the match. I thought it was a good, I wrote down really good match. Those boys will be sore tomorrow because they were hitting hard. Yep. um So I don't have a problem with it from a match perspective. It's just this, this title picture storyline is getting a little messy. Yep. You've got too many you got too many strings in the same river looking for one fish, and it's just getting confusing. And I wrote, I don't know what that but that Mark Davis pile driver drop him on his head thing. I don't know what that was, but it looked ugly. Dude. Looked wicked. Yeah. Looked ugly. And then I wrote, solid match. Mark Davis looks like a beast, but we should have seen this match three weeks ago before the four-way tag team match. So we could find out, oh, Davis is a freaking beast. Yep. I would agree with that. But I did like the the the short Hangman promo right afterwards. I thought that was solid. I did too. i wrote I wrote down good promo. Yeah. Yep, solid, short, sweet, to the point. Didn't get lost in the sauce. Done. Loved it. Yep, i agree. So overall, I thought it was pretty good. i just i don't understand the insertion of Mark Davis into it, especially when the stipulation was not that he would get a title shot. Yep. Right. So wait, if I win, I just win? That's it? i don't get what Yeah, and it's and then you know and then what? Yeah. because Because, again, logistically, legitimately, I mean, and then what? And then. Yeah. Because they never once said Mark Davis. It wasn't the winner goes to Australia. They kept saying if Hangman wins, he goes. So then when you've got Omega and Andrade wrestling for the other spot, does if if Davis had won, would it even matter at that point? Right. Could they just both be like, well, screw it. We're just going to both get counted out because we're both going now. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like, Or does the winner just get a buy and get a match? yeah. i mean, so so it didn't make a lot of sense from a storyline kayfabe perspective. And it also basically gave away the ending of the match, which to be fair, I think we all knew Hangman was going to win, but he didn't make a lot of sense to me. Yes. Yes, we did. Here's the thing. It made more sense to me because I missed that whole angle that if only Hangman won, he was going to Australia. So I probably liked better because I wasn't as confused. At least that. Yeah. Well, again, I liked the match a lot. I just, you know, maybe I don't think they said it that way. If they did, I missed it, but I definitely heard them say if hangman wins, he gets the winner of Andrade and Omega in Australia. Sometimes. Yeah, that's little overbooked at point. Yeah. Sometimes they get too cute with some of this stuff, you know? Yeah. that was that's a little overbooked at that point Yep. it It made me think of ah ah when we were talking about, what was it? The casino gauntlet where it's going to end with two guys. And then those two went on to fight for the ring or whatever it was. it's the dope Nope. Yeah. Possibly the most anticlimactic ending to a match. Yeah. It's like, okay, you both win. What? Yeah, just make it make it simple. Make it simple, y'all. Yep. After that, the Kevin Knight vignette happened. Mm-hmm. We've already pretty well touched on that. So let's get into Andrade and Kenny Omega. Before we do, can I just say, Don Callis hiding behind Lance Archer during Andrade's pyro was brilliant. Oh, well, fine. Yeah, i that was really good. there's there's ah It's brilliant. i'll so I'll stay with the Don Callis thing here. Him butchering Spanish so confidently is one of my favorite things that he's doing. Very good. From the yo soy hechicero to him saying Andrade would be muy blanco. If you don't speak Spanish, that means very white. Very white. Oh, man. So I just, I love it. it's He's so good. I love, I love him doing that. I think it's tremendous. When he said that he thought Andrade, he looks like he should be on the cover of a romance novel riding a horse. Yeah. That line was that, that popped me. Yeah. Alice is genius. Yeah, I pouched. Yeah. I pouched. He's great. But yes, the match, holy cats. Give give me more of this version of Andrade. Yep. i don't know what the difference is, but he is so much more appealing in the ring. his his I don't know if it's his confidence, if it's he's finally got a purpose or his swagger back, whatever it is. Maybe it's the women they're paying to be at ringside to fawn over him. I don't know. But whatever it is, it's working, and I will i like this version of Andrade a lot. So we we talked about this before, but i I genuinely believe he's more motivated than he has been in a while. And I don't, I'm not questioning the man's work ethic. Let me be clear on that. Right. I believe, like I said before, that he was part of a group of guys who got let go by w WWE and came to AEW but didn't really want to be there. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And I think that got proven by those dudes all went back as soon as they could, right? h and And look, let me be clear. I get it. And I understood it at the time he was engaged and then got married to Charlotte Flair while he was doing that first AEW run. I cannot imagine how difficult that would have to be on a relationship when you have those competing schedules and you're flying all over the world. you know, based on where the company is today. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I can understand that. I understood it with Malachi Black because his wife works in WWE. wwe So I get it. Zelina Vega, if you don't know. um I understood it then. I understand it now. I think that because the second w WWE run really didn't go well, it went about as well as the first one, which also didn't go well. That now that he's in AEW and he knows that Tony Khan values him, I think he's more motivated than he's been in a while. I think he looks great. I think he's in the best shape I've seen him in. He moves incredibly well. I agree. Like this is the dude that we heard all about and that we saw some of in NXT. Yep. So yeah, I think he's more motivated than he's been in a while. Yes. Because he and Charlotte aren't together anymore. No. No. And I have a feeling that when he went back to wwe WWE, I don't think either one of them got what they wanted out of that. No, I don't think so either. Him coming back. I don't think it was what he expected. He wasn't what they wanted. And when he came back to you, I think you're right. I think his motivation, like I said, whatever it is, whatever has clicked in him, Keep that up because I'm really liking this version of Andrade. Yeah. And I thought that freaking match, so good. So good. and And again, they keep harping on it, but they're right. Kenny looks amazing. He looks the best he's looked in years. Again, I think we're getting the best version of Andrade that I've seen. We're getting close to one of the better versions of Kenny that we've seen. Yeah. Oh, that was a really great match. Really, really liked it And it's right um and i'm so i'm I'm good with the ending, especially the way it went. I am too. I am too. Match of the night for me. Yep. i those two were great. I want more of it. I understand why you're going to move them apart from each other now, but I want more of it. It was great. Yeah. I actually wrote down, I'm not shocked by the finish. I thought like in the moment, like my brain wanted to be surprised by it but I went, yeah, but it kind of makes sense. um especially with with Swerve getting involved and then everything that happened after the match between the two of them. Mm-hmm. What I wrote down is, i actually wrote this before all the post-match stuff happened. So I wrote, if we get Omega versus Swerve ah out of this, then I am in. We're clearly going to get it Oh, yeah. yeah I think we're going to get it at Revolution. Hook it to my veins. Good God. Absolutely. That is going to be... i'm going to need a cigarette after it. I mean, that's going to be... we're going to pouch so hard. It's going to be an incredible match. It just is... I think I pre-pouched already. And i think I have four or five times, and we're not... They haven't even made the match yet. And it it in I shouldn't have to say it, but pre-pouching can still get you pregnant. Yeah. ah I mean, I need to go talk to some people. Yeah. But yeah, I wrote solid win for Andrade, and that's where I wrote down, am I smelling a swerve a swerve? swerve And then we get the confrontation between him and Kenny, and it and it makes so much sense. Yeah. Yes, put those two together. you can all wait you're We're going to see more of Kenny and Andrade. That's not going to go away. Yeah. um yeah But i I liked the, i like I thought this was a well-constructed, like you said, the construction of this match was really good. The comment from Tony at the very beginning of, to Don Callis about using a screwdriver to beat him. And, oh look, he gives him a screwdriver. Swerve takes it away For some reason, Aubrey was struck with referee's disease and didn't understand why he was there with the screwdriver. Well, didn't, it didn't, didn't callous cast distraction there. Didn't he and Lance Archer get up on the ring and cast distraction there to steal that from Simon Miller. to begin with to begin with yes but then he clearly took the ring or took the ring he took the screwdriver away and he was clearly not you know what mean like he was i don't know it's one of those things where it was like That's fair. I think I was watching. it worked it worked but whatevs yeah I was paying a lot more attention to like I was specifically watching how hard is he going to hit him with the screwdriver. Oh, yeah. I was specifically watching that. Same. So I don't Aubrey did not register with me. Mm-hmm. um But that's interesting. Yeah. But then the low blow but then the low low blow, the pinfall, thought it was really good really good way for Andrade to win. I might go back and watch it again. Really solid. And we kind of called it last week that I had this feeling that it was going to be Andrade going down and being the guy to take on Hang. Yeah. And maybe the guy to take on the champ. Yeah. I, when I was listening back to it last week, I was like, man, we could do a full episode of just trying to fantasy book all this. What a quagmire that they've gotten themselves into with the title picture. I will give them this. I there's clarity tonight. I know earlier I said it was getting muddy, but at that point it was now we've got a little bit more clarity. a And I actually think, we can fantasy book this at least as to what's going to happen in ah so in Australia. Yes. We might be able to go to revolution too, because I i have thoughts, but we'll we'll just wait till the end. All right. We'll talk about that. After that, the Statlander backstage happened. I kind of referenced this already. I thought i thought it was weak. I don't hate the promo, but the whole point of it was to tease you to collision to get the stipulation. That's a pretty weak tease. Yep. um and And again, it's, you don't have a ton of time. Could the orange Cassidy, Tony storm promo have gone there. I think it could have, you know. Yes. Yes. And you could have handled that with graphic and Excalibur. Saturday on collision. We're going to get a stipulation. Statliner is going to tell us what's going on. Yeah. You know, we could have gotten that and it have been just as as good. Well, yeah. And they did a video package of it later. If I recall correctly, where they showed you what happened. I think so. So you could have just done it all right there. Yeah. Whatever. Okay. After that mega bad, apparently that's the new team name for a Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford, which I don't hate, but I like mega problems better. and Yep. Nope. That is good. Yeah. Yeah. yeah Mega bad versus babes of wrath. Mm-hmm. Yep. During this match, I thought to myself, it might be time already to take the belts off Babes of Wrath. Hmm, interesting. Because i feel like, again, i think the shelf life on them as champs is limited to begin with. And there's just something about it that is wearing thin with me. And I don't know, I can't put my finger on it. I still like Harley Cameron. I still like Willow Nightingale. I still like them as a team. As champions, I'm not as fond of them as champs at the moment. Interesting. and i And again, I can't really put my finger And I think it's because i see ah Megabad as a better... title holder because of Megan Bayne. And I think pene Penelope Ford is very much a, a, a, like a Ricky Morton type in the rock and roll express. She can be the one to go out there, play Ricky Morton, get the crap kicked out of her. Megan Bayne comes in, cleans house, Rex house, does her thing. They win. They, that makes sense to me. And I know that's kind of what they're kind of sort of doing with, with the babes of wrath, but, Harley isn't playing Ricky Morton very well and they they aren't really putting her in that spot. And so I don't, I think it's that they don't have Harley's role down yet in it. For me right now, it's starting to wear a little thin. i'd be 100% fine mega when the titles. seeing megabad win the titles Interesting. I mean, I, I had not felt that way. I think you make a pretty strong case there and I don't necessarily disagree with you. I thought Harley looked better tonight than we've seen her look in a while, particularly ah you know, when they were doing kind of the trio stuff where she took such a backseat to Kris Statlander. Yes, I would agree. Yep. um I think one of the things that is, tough for them right now is willow being a double champion because now the tbs title is there but it's it's a prop you know what i mean it's it's you can't they're gonna struggle to balance her defending both of those and right now i would say there are much clearer challengers legitimate challengers Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. To the tag titles than the TBS. So from that standpoint, I would agree with you if they should probably drop those either to mega bad or two sisters of sin, but so sisters of center. On the fringe of it a little bit in my mind. It's so, like, last week we were talking, what are they going to do with those three? And, well, they're running the they're running the same thing back. So, but Megabad just won a a qualifier, so they get a title shot. Yeah. Yeah. I did like that. They specifically said, boy, eliminator matches almost never work out. Like I really enjoyed them calling that out. Yep. Yep, but it did. So if they want to put the belts on on the Sisters of Sin and let Sisters of Sin and Megabad go at it, okay, I'll watch that. I think that what they're gonna have to do, they don't have to do this, but I think maybe their best course of action is if Babes of Wrath drop to, at this point it would be mega bad. It'd be Megan Bane and Penelope Ford. So you drop to them, let's say at Revolution, right? I think at that point, one of the best things that they could do is get... Tony storm and Mina share a Cala heated back up, get them back in the picture and let them challenge. Because then you can do one of two things. You can either drop to now the face team that is super over and happens to have your biggest women's star. And frankly, one of your biggest stars period in the company. Or you've now made Mega Bad because they beat them. Because they beat Tony Storm and Mina Shirakawa. you know You'll have beaten Babes of Wrath and Timeless Love Bombs. And then you can also try to figure out, um well, you're going to have to get somebody else to be next after that. But you can start to warm them up. Well, they already... This is why I think they could be losing the belts because if they dropped to one of those two teams on collision, like I said earlier, they formed Alex Windsor and Jamie peter and they love taking brand new teams and put them in a title splot splot. Oh, right. Yep. Title splot. yeahlo Yeah, splot, yeah. And then like splot them right in there. And so if the, if the, if Babes of Wrath are going to lose, I have a feeling Yeah. That is going to be our first challenger, and that's what we're to see. It could be. And that's that's fine. I just want them to show us more the women wrestling so that we're not just going, oh, there's eight of them. They're all wrestling each other. Yeah. Two are going to sit, and now we have two more. Oh, okay, now they're going to wrestle. Yeah. Show us a bit more of them. That's all. Yeah. and And I mean, you and I talked about this the other week, they've got a, they've got a little bit of a, there's some issues beyond their control. There's some injuries, you know, Alex Windsor had to go away to, you know, I mean, um ah help take care of Osprey and, you know, they have a, they have a son and, Mm-hmm. I'm uh, you know, you need somebody fairly mobile to take care of a child. And I'm guessing will, hasn't been fairly mobile for a while. definitely not. Um, you know, so like, okay, you have that happen. Uh, I don't understand why Jamie Hader kind of went away. um You know, after the unsuccessful challenge for the women's title, I still think that was a mistake, but okay. Glad that she's back in the picture now, but you know, again, you've got some injury issues. Yeah. You got, you know, whatever you're doing your best. I get that. Um, but you better figure it out and you better start figuring it out now because, you know, we talked about this before. Okay. Britt Baker, write her off. We're never going to see her in AEW again, or at least not anytime soon. Let me put it that way. It's wrestling. Never say never. Apparently Anna J may be NXT bound. So we're probably not going to see her, uh, That's not tracking. No, it's not. So, you know, you remove Ty J from the tag picture, right? And that means Ty Mello is now sitting around kind of doing nothing. So maybe do something with her. But again, like you got to start figuring this out. and And we talked about this before too. Mercedes is clearly taking time off, which again, you earned it. She had one hell of a busy 2025. Yeah. So... Yep. No hate there. Nope. But in the meantime, you're limping along until you can figure out what to do. Um, I, I, so from that standpoint, I actually don't have a problem with them splotting Windsor and hater into that. Cause you gotta do something and you gotta do something fresh. But after that, I don't know what you do after that. Yep. Now you're kind of, now you're kind of stuck. Nope. I'd be okay if if Tony would just... bring in bring in a tag team or a challenger for one of the belts from one of the, from like ah a named indie wrestler, have them come in do a short run. Don't bring them in, make them all elite, put them in a, you know, bring them in at like, treat it kind of like the territory days, bring in someone who can cause chaos, cause problems and really challenge the champ. yeah And then after six, eight weeks, they're gone. I'm okay with that. I think one thing that they should look at is you've got um Athena and I think her name's Billy Starks I think is her name Starks, yes. maybe let them let them do a program for the tag titles, right? You've got them in ROH, maybe bring them over and let them do a little something, something. um Mm-hmm. You know, Athena, we all love. And and I remember when Billy debuted, i was like, oh, she's pretty good. Yep. Yeah. And she can, I'm guessing has only gotten better. So I don't know, but And I mean, you've got people like Shotzi Blackheart on the indies. Bring her in like they did with Matt Cardona for a minute. Yep. Bring her bring her in. Yep. She'll be a credible threat. You'll believe that she could win it. You'll believe maybe she'll win it and stick around. And if she doesn't, you're not going to not care that much. It'll be cool to see her and she can move on after four weeks. Yeah. Yeah, no, I, so yeah, but they got to figure it out and they got figure it out pretty quick. um Yep. After that, got the champ of promo. There's the vignette recapping his win. ah And then the little promo about the TNT open. it was fine. It was fine. Again, that collision was so good. I don't. It should have been a dynamite because that match was banger, and it was a bit of a surprise that Ciampa won. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, i I wasn't surprised. It was so good. I'm going to be honest with you. Shiny new toy, man. Shiny new toy. Oh, yeah. um But yeah, I knew it was going to be a banger. And i was like, oh, I got to watch it. I got to watch it and then I completely forgot. So I still got to go watch it. But um then we got Jack Perry and Ricochet for the national title, which I was happy to see the national championship on TV being defended because I feel like we haven't seen that. Yep. really much at all. um you So I thought that was good. What I wrote down here was it's probably match of the night on any other show. Yes. Yes. I agree. But, you know, they had the unfortunate luck of being on the same show as Kenny Omega and Andrade. Mm-hmm. But any other Dynamite, that's probably match of the night. They were really good. yeah Yeah, I mean, again, those two together, i'm going to watch that almost every time. So good. Yeah, they were really, really good. um I really like what Jack is doing right now. i feel like he's really found his stride. I like the Bucks coming out and getting involved to help him out. It was nice to see them. Yep, I wrote that down. Yep. And then the little graphic tease about there's a mystery tag team that apparently is going to be some sort of three way with a mystery team and they're going to go on to get a shot at FTR. Oh, I missed that. So yeah, after the I believe it was after the match was over. If I recall correctly, they were saying that the bucks in GOA are going to wrestle might be on collision. Okay. And then there's going to be a three way with the winner of that match. Um, Already don't remember who the other named team was because I kind of keyed in on um the mystery team because I was like, woo I wonder who that's going to be. Okay. Okay. Might be the rascals were the other team. I don't remember. um That feels right to me, though, as I said it. So who you got for the mystery team? Like I said, I missed this part, so I haven't been thinking about at all. Well, there's no indication of who it is at all. So pick one. So I have no idea. I mean, I, so, okay, who do we have? So we've got GOA or the Bucs. hu And we think it's the Rascals, right? I think so. And then a mystery team. While you talk, I'm going to look this up. And then there's a mystery team, and the winner is going to get a shot at FTR. So knowing that, the mystery team, I wonder, could we see Correct. Correct. Kyle Fletcher and Takeshita? So that's an interesting one because one of the things that I've been thinking is you are headed to Australia and your biggest, ah well, maybe second biggest Australian star is not on the card. Because It depends on if you rank him above Tony storm or not for who's the biggest Australian star. At the moment, Tony Storm. I would agree. So that's an interesting thought. The other thought I had We're two guys that we have not seen for quite some time, but famously have beef with FTR in Edge and Christian. Yes, I called him Edge. Yeah. I'm not going to stop calling him Edge. Yeah. Deal with it. i I kind of forgot about them because I thought maybe they would be back sooner to be the challengers and they haven't been. That would be interesting. I would be cool with that. That would be, and that's a very Tony Khan thing to do. Yeah, it is. That's a very Tony Khan surprise. So my money's on those two guys, on the Hall of Famers. Very Tony Khan. Yeah. That makes sense. That makes sense. But we shall see. I mean, again, it wouldn't shock me if it's something, or or if it's Fletcher and Okada, if it's something involving Fletcher, because your massive Australian star is not anywhere near the card for Grand Slam in Australia. Yep. Oh, yeah. I would think i would think you would want to fix that. Should be. And if you put him with Okada, now you still have that weird menage a what with the Don Gallus family. Yep. So i that would be a good pairing as well, doing Okada and Fletcher. Yep. So I think there's a chance that you could also put him with his original tag team partner and Mark Davis, but I doubt they do that. Right. They're probably going to save that. Yeah. but you But you definitely could. You could have Ozzie open back at it. And I wouldn't hate that either. Yeah. But I think having Kyle Fletcher in the mix is always going to be a good thing because, again, he's one of the best going right now. Yeah. Yep. And we're missing out on him in the ring. He deserves a bit of a break. He was working pretty hard there with the absence of Will Ospreay. Oh, no doubt. He kind of stepped into that role. Yep. And he did a very good job. Yes, he did. But... dude, going to be in Australia. Put them in the match. Put them in a match. Oh, he's, he's, yeah, he has to get on that card somehow. Yeah, I would hope. After that, we got more crimes committed by the war dogs. um Where once again, I just wrote down. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I just wrote War Dogs drag Darby behind the car. Yeah. And again, is anyone going to call the cops? Just. No, it's just, it's a crime spree and they're just getting away with it. and yeah okay and i And again, I know we're supposed to suspend our disbelief. However, when Tony and Excalibur are like, we're going to do our best to get an update on Darby's ah whereabouts and his health. Yeah. There's a camera there, bro. Mm-hmm. That's the camera guy. What the hell is going on? Well, okay, so to be fair, that was supposed to be cell phone, right? He knows where he's at. That was Gabe holding the cell phone up. Was it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. and Then, okay. However, yeah. When he said that, I was like, well... It reminded me of a bad Ric Flair bit they did on WCW Nitro where it was a weird thing where they had told the announcers, pretend you don't know what's going on in the monitor vignette. Pretend you don't see them. And so they were told to ignore them and not comment on them. But we were seeing Ric Flair get kidnapped and they didn't mention it. They were just like, we have no idea where Ric Flair is at. And for some reason they decided that was a smart move. And it just gave me weird flashbacks like that. Like, I mean, come on, you filmed, you filmed it. You know where he's at. He's right. Yeah. He's right. I mean, Yeah. the yeah When they were like, oh, we're going to do our best to ascertain or whatever. I'm like, okay. I mean, Yeah. Like you said, I get it. We're suspending disbelief a little bit, but i it just felt weird. That one was just a bridge too far. Yeah. Yeah. It felt weird. It felt weird. I agree. o And, and again, maybe I would have other thoughts if I were at all invested in this, but i'm not, I'm just not. Yeah. So i was just like, okay, my, my thought when Excalibur said that was, it's fine. That's fair. If you don't, I'm, I'm fine with it. If you don't have an update and they didn't. So i I think what you and I are landing on is if Darby goes away and comes back with a fresh take, a different attitude, a different something, that would be that would be welcome. Yeah, it would. he He needs to go away for a little bit because I don't think they're going to find a way to reinvent him on the fly like they managed to pull off with Mox. Right. You know, because I was pounding the he needs to go away drum with Moxley, especially ah my i I thoroughly believed when he dropped to hangman, he should gone away for, you know, three, four weeks. Mm-hmm. Yep. Mm-hmm. But they found a way to make it work. i don't think they're going find that with Darby because Darby is, he is who he is and there is a place for it. And he's been very successful in AEW being that guy. There's nothing wrong with that. But right now I'm bored ah with it. And I overemphasize bored to really punch home how bored I am with it. He's entertaining, but he's a bit of a one-trick pony, and we've seen that trick a lot. He is. Yeah. And when you don't have, yeah, when you don't have the novelty of staying with him. So, yeah. That's what really made hit made that work, was you had that dichotomy between the the the legend and this new kid and the differences in styles. Yep. That's what made that work. And now it's just him and he could survive on that for a little bit. And his homage is by using the death drop and the, and the, the scorpion, the death lock. The scorpion death lock. Yeah. For some reason, death drop and death. I'll always call it the sharpshooter. Yeah. Well, yeah, I should have went with that because death drop and death lock weren't sounding right in my head and I couldn't figure out which one I screwed up. But um yeah, I think I, and don't get me wrong. I do like Darby Allen. hu Right now, I don't see a place for him. and Let him take a break. yes Or just move him to a look. If you're not going to tell us what's going on in Collision, have him wrestle there for a while. Yeah, no, I agree with you. I mean, that's it right there is right now. He doesn't have a place. Not really. Mm-mm. And you're kind of shoehorning him in. And I think he hasn't had a strong place in AEW for a while now, which is why they keep going back to him and Gabe Kidd. And. Well, and to be fair, I think now that we're talking about it, I think his his purpose right now is to try and establish Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors, the War Dogs, and give them some footing and show those guys and then move them on to something else. And if they put him out for a while, I think that would be... a good use of Darby's skills and his, cause he's got enough sashay right now and he's got enough credibility with the audience to be able to pull that off and, and get the, give them some heat by beating up their, one of their favorites, but he can go away for a minute and then, you know, come back, I mean, I agree with you and all that. And I think that would, I think that's what they probably should do. But what I mean is they've, they've had him and Gabe kid lock up three, four times now over the course of six ish months, give or take it feels to me. Right. Mm-hmm. So I used to say this, um I used to say this about w WWE and I guess it would have been the PG era or whatever. It always felt to me like they would go, they would start to build somebody and then you'd get the lol Sina wins. Right. And it was there in case of emergency, put the belt on Sina. I feel like right now in case of emergency have Darby and Gabe kid wrestle and to to be fair, I think this is the first time the last since they're most recently hooking up, I think this is the first time we've actually seen any type of insight and character development from Gabe Kidd. Gabe was just the hired gun. You didn't know anything. He was just a brute dude. you didn't He didn't have anything to say. Yeah. You didn't give a crap. You just knew, oh, here's another bad guy beating up Darby. It didn't matter that Darby was wrestling Gabe Kidd initially. Now... they're at least giving Gabe some depth, some personality, letting them talk, letting them get across that he's kind of a nut job and his friend Clark Connors is kind of a nut job. So it kind of did them a disservice to have them those earlier matches because it kind of takes away from the fact that I think now they're finally doing something with with with him and those two because his partner's with him now. And so I think he they see him as a more viable candidate to be to be pushed more so... Yeah, well, and I think part of that also was, I don't, I mean, it's pretty obvious he's gonna sign with AEW, Gabe Kidd, if he hasn't yet. And it's been obvious for a while, but if you're under contract to New Japan, you're under contract to New Japan and there's only so much that they can use him. Right. I get all that. I just, I think you're right. If this were a brand new story, i might be more into it, but I've seen them dance before. Yep. And for me, it's just not hidden. Yep. I get it. i get it. And it's not the most like I'm not super intrigued by it. I was much more interested in the Clark Connors match on collision because I thought that looked great and was really, really good. And was like, Ooh, this dude. Okay. This isn't just some other schmo they got around. This guy's he's got, he's got the stuff. Dude can go. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So i enjoyed that I enjoyed that part of it. I'll check it out. So like I said, if you're using him as a vehicle to give these guys a little better platform, great. But when he's done, please give him a rest. Send him back up the mountain or some noise. Yeah. I don't i don't care. i i am getting tired. Save him from himself. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Make him take time off to save him from himself. Yes. But. All right. let's Let's stop talking about the kid in paint so that we can talk about one of my favorite things in Dynamite for a long, long time. and I agree. Yeah, no, I was just about to say that, like, we need to move to the main event, which was delightful. It was fantastic. Yeah, it was. itp Honestly, i don't know if I could ask for a better main event for this matchup and outcome. All of it was, I loved it. I did too. Loved it. I did too. So MJF and Brody King, Brody King wins. He gets a championship match at Grand Slam in Australia. Going into it, I was like, so Brody's going to win because you need your title match in your big dynamite in Australia. The way they did it, though, was brilliant. I loved it. So good. Loved it. So good. Yep. Brilliant the way that they did it. um I really enjoyed everything that happened after the match. Yep. I laughed and and my wife laughed at it too. And MJF just crotched a hang man when he went for the, for the buckshot for the buckshot lariat. That may be the most vicious crotch shot I have ever seen. That, that no you know, not to coin a weird phrase, that did look stiff. Yeah, it did. It really did. Bluetooth. i was about to say, not in the fun Bluetooth way, but it did. Bluetooth. No. And ah but and how nonchalant MJF was about it too was brilliant. Mm-hmm. Absolutely brilliant. Loved it. I love how they did it. i'm Here's how you know that they really caught something here. I want Brody to win in Australia. Oh, I want him to win. yeah And I'm going to allow myself to believe when it when in the match it's going to look like he's going to do it. And I know he's not going to. Logically, I know he's not going to. right i i went through such a a series of emotions during this very short match if you have it's so it's But man, I want him to. Yep. It's very quick. Hangman comes out. MJF is distracted on the outside. Brody sneaks up, puts him in a sleeper. The minute MJF went limp, I went, they're going to have this be a squash. Brody's going over in a squash. Oh, my God. Yeah. So one of the things that you didn't, that you, that would not have registered with you because you were behind, but I'm watching it live. did, and he wrecked him. I knew what time it was when the match started. And I was like, this going to, this is going to be short. Oh, so you do. they were Like, this is going to be short. Right. And it was, yeah it was, and I, yeah. Well, and I knew we were pushing it. I was like, we have much time for this match? Yeah, like the overrun can only go so long. And I was like, i was like this is going to be short. And it was. And they did it brilliantly. Here's what I wrote. Brilliantly. Two things. just Well, I wrote three things. One, crowd chant to start was hilarious because if you know anything about the shirt Brody King wore in Mexico. It was. Mm-hmm. um Hangman comes out, turns Brody into a hangman. And then, holy shit, what a squash. That was amazing. Yeah, it was great. It was, it they nailed it. Every aspect of it. um The other thought that I had coming out of this was I want Brody to win. ah don't think he's gonna, but so you think about Australia, which we had kind of referenced earlier talking about this. I think, I think the move now might be Andrade wins. It's Andrade and MJF at revolution logic. The logic part of me says MJF retains, but man, the way Andrade's wrestling in the way they're pushing him, it might, it might be time to put the strap on him. And the way he's being received, I know, it's crazy. it It might be time to put the strap on him at Revolution. And if they do, i don't think that's a bad move. Yep. So, well i you know, good on them for salvaging all this potential muddy mess here. The final... Whoop, as I send my phone flying. Oh, yeah. And good on him for giving us multiple possibilities that are very believable. Yes. Very believable. And I said I went through a gamut of emotions. At the end, after everyone beat each other up again, Brody grabbing the belt and the crowd reaction to him. All I could think of... Was when you and i when you mentioned a couple weeks ago that even though he's not a heel, we don't have one of those dominant champs since Joe lost the belt. I would believe Brody winning in Australia. Oh yeah. I would believe him starting to run through everybody. Yeah. I would believe that. Yeah, I would too. And I wouldn't be mad at it. I understand the desire to put the belt on Andrade right now because, again, he's he is the best version I've seen of him. The crowd is eating him up. He is becoming one of the most over people ever. Yeah. Yes, they're working hard at making that happen, but yes, it is working. He looks so good in the ring. And if you have Andrade win, now you can bring out Kyle Fletcher. And you can still do swerve in him, hangman in him. You know, you have all this potential. And then Joe eventually probably coming back, do that. You know, so many options. But, man, I agree. i kind of want Brody King to win that belt, man. I here's, here's what I'll say. If Brody wins, yeah I don't want them to make him a transitional champion. I don't want him to win in Australia and then drop basically a month later at revolution. Right. Nope. Like I said, if he wins, I want him to wreck house on everybody that comes up at to everybody. Yes. Yes. What I think would be very, very, so I've thought a lot about the title picture because, you know, last week you and I spent a lot of time on because it got very muddy. And again, kudos for finding a way through this that made sense and is exciting and love it. Yep. Mm-hmm. Yep. So here's what I think you could do. And this is going to be off the top of my head a little bit If you have hangman, distract MJF basically sort of like what happened tonight. And that's how Brody wins it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Or just somebody, i don't care. Pick somebody. you got enough people involved now, pick somebody, right? Right. Yep. Anybody could. Yep. You know, maybe it's Andrade. I don't care. Mm-hmm. But if Brody wins that way, then if Brody wins and he's your new champion, then I think you have Brody and Andrade. I think to that point, it has to be him and Andrade. I think it just does as good as he and hang man, I think could be. Mm-hmm. I think it's him and Andrade at Revolution. Brody's got to beat him. Andrade can survive it. It'll be okay. Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. I think you have Brody retain. And now, like you said, you can throw these guys at him, right? You can still have Brody and Hangman. You can have Brody and Swerve. You can have Brody and and Joe when he comes back and just have big meaty men slapping meat. you can keep on Dr. Day in this, right? Like Don Callis is not going to take that, you know, he's not just gonna take it lying down, right? He's try and get his guy back in there. So you can have on Dr. Day in it. I think what you could do is you can have on Dr. Day, you know, you could probably do the rematch with on Dr. Day and then move Brody on to those other guys. get Kyle Fletcher heated back up, which would be interesting. Cause now we're talking, ah well, no, if Brody still got it, nevermind. I was thinking I briefly in my head, Andrade had become champion and we had Don Callis civil war, which nevermind, but you know, he could drop to Fletcher. ah That And then, cause I have believed for a while, your main event of all in is going to be Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher for the title. would be lovely. That would be amazing. I'm just saying you could pretty easily plot a really good couple of months there that leads to Fletcher and Osprey at all in. Yep, and you could keep MJF busy with fighting against whoever interferes. Oh yeah. Right. Whoever interferes, that's, that's obviously he's gonna want his pound of flesh. You've got him and hang man that you can always go back to. And look, you can put MJF with pretty much anybody and it's going to be good. So, you know, I mean, ah ah maybe you throw him in Ciampa at the TNT title at some point. Right. Uh, yeah. I mean, you got, you got options here. You got options. So, you know, um, it's interesting and we'll see what they do. Oh yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think they did better with that tonight, but yeah, they've got a yeah, they got work to do there. Yeah. Yeah. yeah no i i agree with you on that i agree um overall i thought it was a really good show like i said they did a lot to clean up the title picture which was really important yes the darby thing's not hidden with me that's fine they're not all gonna it's okay it's all right you know like i said they'll do the pay-per-view match and i'll be like it was good i didn't care but it was good and that'll be that um so with that i thought it was a really good show i would give i Yeah, I'd give it i'd give it like it I'm going to give it an A-. minus ah Yeah. Yeah. Yep. So good job. And um is is Australia next then? 10 days. That's what they said on the broadcast. So that would be... Okay. So that'll be interesting then to see what they do next week to finish the bill due to Australia. So we'll find out. There are, and they'll, yeah, they'll keep stacking it. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm going to have to say I will, and then forget.
