Ed Hyer: A Life of Faith, Family, and Service | Wilmington News
A beloved husband, father, and community pillar, Ed Hyer passed away at 86, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and resilience. Born in Queens, he served in the Navy, built a 30-year career at Con Edison, and met his lifelong partner Anne on a blind date in 1960. Together, they raised two kids, embraced faith, and stayed active in sports and beach days well into retirement. After moving to North Carolina, Ed’s spirit remained vibrant until his final days.
