- 0:00This is a Merrick Studios podcast. On this week's Explain this to me. You on a boat, because it's what I've seen, that shit stopped and y'all motherfuckers jumped out into the water, correct?
- 0:14They do that. That's fucking crazy. And mind you, around you it's frozen, the water, right?
- 0:20Come on, what are you wearing? Bro, like trunks.
- 0:20What? In three, two, one. I'm DJ Enuff. I'm DJ Camilo. I'm DJ Kast One. And I'm Len Boogs, AKA L. Boogs. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, everyone worldwide, this is the Heavy Hitter DJs podcast.
- 0:45Welcome to another episode of the Heavy Hitter DJs podcast. know what I'm We got the trio today. The fantastic trio. Myself, Kast One. That's the magic number. Mr. DJ Enuff. There it is.
- 1:00We're here live and direct. You know. Mr. DJ Camilo. I was just playing this tune because DJ Enuff had went to MetLife Stadium to go see. can't even say the last name. Citi Field.
- 1:12Citi Field. I'm sorry. What did I say? You said MetLife. I'm bugging. I'm sorry. So, Citi Field.
- 1:17They had that shit lit. Yo, Mexico was in the building. So he went to go see Fuerza Regida, which is like, I don't know how to describe it. Like an urban Mexican banda, right? Like the urban style. The crowd was mad young, mad hip and everything. wasn't like, you old school, like old people, none of that. It very hip. And then. They had a dope show and the dope shit about their show was they almost took a bite out of the Back to the Future movie, right? And they got into their Jeep, like a Bronco or some shit. And then they went back into time. And they went back into time from when they first signed their record deal and then they played the hits from that era, like in 2018 or some shit. And then they went to the future a little bit and then... When your man 50 cent was hot and that 50 cent came out.
- 2:15Yeah, he came out. Yeah, yeah It makes me feel Queens Why were you even at this show, Pop, like to begin with? Dynamiq. It's very specific one of our Heavy Hitters. His name is DJ Dynamiq.
- 2:31He's from San Diego Yeah, he hasn't I ain't seen him in a while and he's like, yo Pop, I'm pulling up.
- 2:35What are you doing? I'll see you I got I'm opening up for this Mexican band.
- 2:40didn't know who they were. I told my wife, she said, oh, I'm with it. I know who they are.
- 2:44They're big. They're big. They're huge. And when I heard the music, I said, oh, shit.
- 2:48You know, if you if you don't understand the music, whatever, it's almost like like Peso Plomo or whatever. Peso Pluma. Yeah, Peso Pluma.
- 2:53It's like that vibe. You know what mean? But it was energetic. It was fire. The light show was dope. It was really fire. You know what's cool about that? You know, that's that's like corridos. Like, you know, back in the days when I was growing up, very young. bachata to me was like, oh, that's corny, that's for the older people. But this is like bachata became cool again when, I'm assuming, Aventura and Romeo Santos, they made it young and hip.
- 3:20You know what I'm saying? So for these guys, I think it feels like the same thing. They made that whole corrido sound young and hip to the young wave. And they embraced it crazy. And they talking cartel talk and drug talk. And you know, so the young wave now, like this is, you know. Their thing. Their thing, exactly.
- 3:45And these guys just, forget it, they Oh, it's kinda hot. I ain't gonna front, how's Dynamiq?
- 3:50And they brought 50 Cent out, how was that?
- 3:50You know, they brought 50 out, 50 did the hits, he did “P.I.M.P.,” “What Up Gangsta,”“In Da Club,” he did fucking “Many Men,” he did a bunch of joints. Wow. And then, okay.
- 4:01I'm on the walkout. And then Bobby Shmurda comes out. Wow. They're yo, what's happening here? This is a fucking rock concert now?
- 4:12A hip hop concert? That's fire. It goes to show you how it's like, yes, Mexican, yes, it's that, but it still aligns with pop culture and what's happening in today's, you know.
- 4:25But here's the thing, when you were there, I'm assuming was heavy Mexican, was there, I'm sure there was a whole, you know, like their following is huge, it's just not Mexican. It's like Colombians love. Yo, everybody was there, bro. It was a movie. Right. Look, look, look, look how diverse Jackson Heights is. Right.
- 4:43I'm saying that because that's where you from.
- 4:46Right. It's the same thing. Right. How diverse your neighborhood is is how diverse that damn stadium. mean, Citi Field with that night.
- 4:54Crazy. That's great. Crazy, crazy. Well, let me ask you, I want to know what Dynamiq, what he play? Were you there for his He opened up. He just played Bad Bunny. Right the the“NUEVAYoL” joint right he played Alicia Keys and Oh yeah, “Empire State of Mind,” right He played a couple of joints like that and then after that just show started and all right He was in his New York bag That's Mine. That makes sense then that makes a great dude man great, dude Well, and he read the heavy hit his heart King. He nice nice. Oh, what happened to my job, you know? There you go Well, while you were at a concert, I was on vacation. Of course you were. And it was great. I needed it so bad, man, because now that my kids are older, because we usually go away for the winter, February, but our winter break. But now that they're older, they're in college, they don't have those breaks.
- 5:53They have different schedules now, so I can't escape with them. So now I say, yo, lock in August. We're going away, all of us. My daughter's about to 21, bro. Real official. Crazy.
- 6:05we went out. I went to Aruba and it was great and I had a great time and I just tuned out the world. I was definitely on my phone but I was not really at work mode. I saw you taking a hike to go to a church. I went to church, yo. Wifey was like, yo, we gotta go to la la la. You to a church in Aruba? Well, we didn't go to church. We went to go visit a church.
- 6:26Oh, okay. Yeah, We didn't go like to Mass. Yeah, we didn't go pa pa. It was nice. It was cool.
- 6:31What is that with wise men who visit churches?
- 6:31My wife always wants to visit a church. Wherever we go, we go to see a church. I'm like, yo, I mean, it's a church. They have an altar.
- 6:41It's Christ. We go inside and say a prayer, like count on our blessings. We're here. We do that too. We do that too, yeah. But still.
- 6:45Think about it like this, guys. The church is probably the first foundation of anything being built, any space you go to. I don't care where you go. Think about it. When they started their community, the first thing they built was the church. So it's the origin point of the place you're actually visiting. I mean this church I went to was a tourist attraction too. Everybody was over there just pulling up on top of the hill. It was fly, it was nice.
- 7:11a good I have a question. When you guys go away, when you go away on vacation, Camilo, is there any beefing going on? there's any, not fighting for it, but let's say does Joaquin want to go somewhere and then you don't want to go somewhere else? yo, it's as simple as, it's as simple as, yo, let me get the Bluetooth.
- 7:31No, let me play my playlist. That, in the car. Yo, come on. Oh my God, it becomes like one of those family trips and then they start arguing, I don't wanna hear that. then JQ's playing Ken Carson. And then it's like distorted music and I'm like, yo, this is not, yo, put some vibes for the family. Then he'll go change the house music and then my daughter, she wants to hear whatever she wants to hear. was like, oh my God, it's like, yeah, know, stupid. Oh, what are we going out to eat? I want this, I want that. That's another, you know. We're gonna say, uh, uh. Yeah, because you know, now you're dealing with, you're pretty much dealing with three, it's really four adults when you guys go on vacation nowadays, right? Because it's not like back in the day when you would be like, you'd be like, all right, this is what we're gonna do. That don't fly anymore now because now everybody has. They big now.
- 8:20Yeah. But the good thing on my kids, man, since young, we've been traveling and like, they like to eat it all. Like they like to try everything. So which is a great thing. You know, I know a lot of my boys, like they're kids, oh no, we only eat McDonald's like nah, fuck that. We're not island on vacation. wanna try island food. I wanna try where the locals go. You know what saying? So yeah, that'd be that type of fight. Oh yeah, well let's go jet skiing. My daughter don't wanna go jet skiing.
- 8:49He wants to go jet skiing. I wanna go jet skiing.
- 8:52My girl's not gonna go jet skiing. That type of argument. It's fun. Vacation. For me, my wife always wants to go fucking hiking somewhere.
- 8:58And I'm like, I'm not going fucking hiking.
- 9:02I'm on vacation. I just wanna go the I wanna chill on the beach. White sands, blue skies, have my little drink and nothing. That's what I wanna do. don't even wanna, yo bro, I don't even wanna go to a club at night. I don't wanna do none of that. I'm looking for the massage spot, the star. Oh yeah, yeah. He's infamous for that. I'm always You guys are lucky, man.
- 9:24I got the adventure, I got the adventure wife.
- 9:24always wants to be in the adventure. Bullshit, Kast One. You've been to fucking Antarctica, Let me ask you question. Do you think that was my idea? It wasn't your idea? No. Why would it be? Why would I want to do that? don't know.
- 9:40Y'all look, first of all, you and your girl are a perfect couple. You guys have been around the world. Vietnam, one week. Ice cold! Ice cold in Norway. You should have been a story, but then... All right, so it was your wife's idea going into Antarctica? Absolutely. 90, I want to tell you, I want to say that 96 % of our vacations. Oh, wow. Are my wife's idea.
- 10:05Wow. So your wife. Like I'm the type of person, I'm the type of person that if you don't force me to go away, I probably wouldn't go. I'm always like, no sort of grindstone, work, work, work. It's hard for me to get away from shit. So like I'm the type of person where she literally has to like yank me. out of whatever we're doing and like no, we're going here. We're away to go here. Well, she about that life because the things I've seen you do. She's creative, bro.
- 10:31I don't know how she comes up with this shit.
- 10:31she's like, yo, yeah, we're going to go to like, I think the last trip we went to was, yeah, we stayed in an ice hotel. we stayed in a hotel made out of ice. Where was that? I don't remember, bro. was. Nah, you're lying.
- 10:46What do you mean? It was north, like. It might have been Denmark or I think it might have been Denmark one of those one of those Slavic countries was definitely I seen you on the snowmobiles. I seen you doing Bro, I was on the snowmobile. But guess what? Oh, yeah, the snowmobile. It was like Negative it was like negative 20 bro. My eyelids froze open. I couldn't close my eyes And what are you doing? Okay, we're out there with staying on the ice hotel right her idea of a good time is like yo Let's go on a snowmobile and go look at the northern lights and take pictures of northern lights at that time though When on a the small mobile Camilo was on the snowmobile on a lake on a frozen lake It wasn't like we was through the snow was on a frozen lake right now mind you I'm a prepper. So I'm like yo, we want someone cold. I'm getting everything I'm going crazy with it. I'm getting goggles. I'm getting ski masks, all of that shit. She thinks it's for the look. I'm like, no, it's not for the look.
- 11:52We get there. She don't got ski masks. She don't got fucking goggles. She's fine. Hello. who has goggles now? You do. No, she does. It's yours. Exactly. So now, so now I'll show you the picture, bro. So now my eyes. I have icicles on my eyelids, bro. You think I planned this? You think I wanna do this? I have icicles on my eyelids. Like you see in the movies where dudes have ice on their beards and shit? That was me. I've never felt this in my life where your eyes are frozen open. You can't blink, you can't close them. They're just frozen.
- 12:29Like you know how your eyes get watery and teary? The tears in my eyes are frozen, bro. But how many of us were out there like doing what you were doing? No, it was, you know what?
- 12:40It was a lot of tourists. There was a lot of people there. They were mostly European and white. Because we don't do that type of shit.
- 12:44Right, right, right. Yo, but okay, so who did the homework? Because you got to do homework for this. I'm not giving it up to her, bro.
- 12:56She does all the homework. Wow. Everything.
- 12:56The only thing I do is once we touch, like once we touch down, I'm in charge of figuring shit out. Where we at, how we get from one place to the next. Reading a map knowing trying to find a layout of wherever it's city or town or whatever we are I I'll take over but as far as like the whole planning of like What hotel we're staying in what flights were going what days we're gonna be here what there's gonna be there what there's gonna be here That's all her. I'm like, you know, mean listen, you got no kids so you y'all could do that I can never do that Never well, you could do that now your kids are older. Yeah, but they ain't about that.
- 13:33You know saying well, yo, what was called a Denmark or Antarctica? Or same shit? That's a one because Antarctica... You know what bro?
- 13:48Antarctica wasn't as cold as you think it was.
- 13:48When I was in Antarctica it was summer there.
- 13:53And it was winter here So that was like around December, February type shit. It was winter, was like January, February, whatever. But it was winter here New York. And there were some days where it was colder here in New York than Antarctica. Yeah, I believe that. But there's some days that... Like, honestly, winter in Antarctica is impossible. Summertime, it gets cold, but you you might be like, 10 below, 15 Explain this to me. Explain this to me. You on a boat, because it's what I've seen, that shit stopped, and your motherfuckers jumped out into the water, correct? They do that. All right. That's fucking crazy. And mind you, around you, it's frozen, the water, right?
- 14:30Yeah. Come on, what are you wearing? Bro, like trunks. What? A bathing suit. Yeah. You didn't have no like scheme and everybody in the boat like that I saw no water suit. And it was like a group thing. Y'all just jumped in. Also, so here's what happened, right? We were on a boat. We were we were on this boat. And so we were like the the boat that we were in goes sub-Antarctic circle. So that goes really deep into Antarctica. You understand a waiver?
- 14:59Yeah. We waiver everything, you have to sign everything. All types of waivers. book of waivers like this. That's torture, I'm on vacation.
- 15:10Alright, go Fuck your life. So then, know, at this certain point, we got to a spot in Antarctica where boats haven't been able to land. I think at the time it was like 12 years, because it was so cold and surrounded by so much ice, right?
- 15:22So it like there was a small island through the ice pack. And then once you got on the island, There was like a little shack and the shack had a, they have a sign in book there where you could sign in. And the last sign in was like 12 years before. And the people that, that are on the boat and work on the boat, they do this shit all the time. They'd there, they'd been there for years doing this shit. So they had never been there. Like there were people on that boat that had been working on that boat for over 10 years and they had never been able to make it to this island. No way. For some reason we made it to the island, but it wasn't even easy. Like getting to the island took a day and a half where it was like the boat would move forward, break the ice, back up. move forward, break the ice back up. they kept saying, I think we can make it this time.
- 16:01I think we can make it this time. You know, and then we finally made it. I didn't understand what was going on because I was like, all right, whatever. What the fuck? But they were so hyped like the people on the boat. was a bunch of people like that run the excursion, the people that are scientists because we weren't on a cruise ship. We were like on a small ship.
- 16:15So anyway, these people were so excited that they had never been there, that they were finally able to get there, that they jumped in the water.
- 16:20They took off all their they took off all their shit. Obviously knew what the fuck they were doing. They took off all this shit and they were like, yo, we're gonna celebrate because we never been here in our life. We don't know when we're gonna be here again. And they jumped in the water. My wife sees this. She goes, wow, wouldn't it be cool if we jumped in the water too? So she goes like none of the people that were on the on the the trip, like passengers like us were jumping in the water. It was just the people that were on like worked on the boat and worked doing these excursions. They were getting the water. So my wife goes up to one of them. She goes like, yo, do you think I could do that? And lady was like, absolutely if you want to do it. And she's like, do you want to do it? And I'm looking at her, I'm like, no, we don't want to do it. No. I run around, my wife's already taking her shit off, bro.
- 17:07Because we have like, you know, these whole body coats, whatever, she's taking the whole shit off. Zip, zip to underwear, bro. Bra and panties, zip. And she the water. Mind you, I'm still standing there fully clothed. I'm like, yeah. What so she jumps in right and then as soon as she jumps in you know, whatever she comes out everybody just does one of these and looks at me like You're gonna do that you're not gonna do that you soft how long was she in there for quick, um, like I'm end up for like bro 20 seconds maybe in and out fuck fuck there were people that was in there like sitting in there So then I say, know what? Fuck it.
- 17:48I'm gonna do it took my shit off, right? I was like, fuck it, she could do what I do. I take my shit off, myself up, like, Yo, bro, I jump in the water. When I tell you right now that I've never felt anything like that in my life, mind you, I've done cold plunges, all that shit. I never felt anything like this in my life, bro. I what the fuck you felt?
- 18:11Huh? I'ma tell you what I felt. Look at your arm right now, look at your arm. Go ahead, look at your arm. You see how you have pores in your arm? Yeah. I felt like somebody put, a little pin on every single pore and went like this. Wow. That's what it felt like. felt your boy. I fell in that water and I froze like this. I just started thinking. I had to think about it like I got the fuck out of here. You know, I got I got out of that water so quick.
- 18:40But, you know, now I could tell a story. I'm like, yeah, listen, I I went I jumped in the water and the when you jumped in, you by yourself, like by yourself in the water or those people in the water. There was people in the water, but where I jumped in, there was nobody there.
- 18:54It was just me. Like there was people in the water. Yes. There was like, I'm going to be honest with you. There was like two people from the boat that was straight up just swimming.
- 19:00Wow. Everybody else was like in and out. These dudes were like swimming and I was like, nah, they dead crazy. Y'all a different breed, man.
- 19:09Nah, yeah. I'm not about that life.
- 19:09Thank you very much. Listen, I went on That's my type of trip. You know what saying? Nice and warm. You know what I'm saying? We did some.
- 19:20I made, I actually went to this spot called El Peñol, Guatapé where they have this huge fucking rock. It's like a mountain. And I was with Enuff and Lobo and the wifeys and Enuff and Lobo first thing they said, we ain't going up there. And I said, fuck yeah, we have to go up there. This is what people do. It's 700 steps, you can do it. Nah, nah, for like three days, right? And he's like, we ain't going up We have to do it. Otherwise, yeah, yeah. I've been up there before, so I know what it is. If my mom could go up there and she's 70, at that time three, whatever, y'all motherfuckers could go up there, come on. That was the stab right there. He said, if my mom could do it, and then we was like, all right, we gotta do it now. Right, so we woke up one day, we did it, we went all the way up there, it was great. I ain't goin' front though, at like step 500 and something, I was done.
- 20:09Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, nah. I was like, need to breathe it, yo. I can't do it no more. could pause here, we wait, look at the view, catch a breath. And keep pushing, that's it. We finally made it up there. Then we got up there. Then everybody had some beers and some drinks.
- 20:24Yeah, I said, drinks on me. I was like, that's fine. You know, with Lobo, everything's a fucking celebration of drinks. Yeah, absolutely, bro.
- 20:33Absolutely. But you know, it's honestly, it's important to, you know, unplug, especially from this DJ grind, which is crazy, and just take a second to like reset. just be like, because sometimes you don't know how far deep you're into it. Right now I'm so deep into it, I can't move two feet without this in my hand right now. That's a fact. That's another thing, I cut you off, that kind of detoured my trip is while I was out there, the earthquake happened in Colombia. Colombia, yeah. Wow.
- 21:04So, bro, once I hit, my timeline was just Colombia, Colombia, earthquake, earthquake, 7.4, Richter scale, my family, I'm calling, you know. My family's from Medellín, so they got hit not as hard. So it was cool for me, but just watching everything else, bro, it's bad, really bad. Where it got hit the most, Camilo? In Pereira, Cali, in Chocó. That's really bad, bad. Got you. Bad. I heard you had some aftershocks. Aftershocks. Yeah, that happens, I guess, all the time when there's an Yeah, but yeah, it's fucked up right now. Shit's fucked up. And Vee, he loves life. Yeah, the Heavy Hitters are doing something for the relief, for the people, for the earthquake. We're collecting stuff, we're buying stuff. And I think we're going, I think Vee's son is leaving on Sunday or Monday to Colombia. He's taking like four or five, eight, nine bags, whatever he can, filled with supplies. Right. First aid kits, batteries. Not as bad, it's really bad. Really, really bad. Flashlights, underwear, socks, whatever we could to help. a lot of people, donated literally, and I swear, 24 hours, you'd be surprised how much came through, bro.
- 22:21It's crazy. Yeah, word. It's crazy. It's important, my brothers. Yeah, being on that trip and that phone fuck you up, yeah. But you know, that's also a reason why she be planning shit to go where the phone doesn't work. I think that's one of the things. I think it is. think, you know, I can't prove it. Yo, I love that. I think one of the things is that she'll We're like, where do phones don't, does not work? And that's but how do you not love that? You gotta reflect that. You yeah, it's fine. You have to. All right, so, Kast One, besides Antarctica and Denmark, anything else sticks out like crazy that you went to? Egypt. Egypt was crazy.
- 23:03Um. That's on my bucket list. You gotta go.
- 23:03And just that one, you can do with the kids.
- 23:07Right. Egypt, you can do with the kids. Egypt is amazing. Um, you get like How many days you gotta stay there? Like- I was there for a long time. know, I would say if you go to Egypt for like, I think in two weeks, you could do pretty good. weeks? What is this? What else besides the pyramids? There's a lot to see. Like if you want to see everything in one go, because some of these places is like, yo, you only going to go once in your life, right? You're going to go to Egypt back and forth, back and forth. So it's like, everything is kind of far from each other, right? Like Cairo, where the, you know, where the Great Pyramid is and Giza and the Sphinx is in one area. but then all the way on the other side of Egypt is like Luxor and a bunch of other stuff. You could take a river cruise down the Nile River, bro, and stop at different places.
- 23:49It's a lot to do and a lot to see. So that's why I'm saying, if you could pull off a week and a half, two weeks in Egypt, you won't regret it. All right. I thought it was just to go see the pyramids. Yo, can I ask you a question?
- 24:05You can. Why you weren't there? Did they ever think you were Egyptian? Bro. Because you look Egyptian, my G. Everywhere I go, I look like something. I remember, you know, I have a story like that one time. I got to Kenya, right? I got to Kenya one time. Like, listen, I could pass for anything, bro. So got to Kenya one day. We were going on a safari in Africa. So we landed in Kenya. And then the security guard, whatever, the guy was like, everybody, everybody, you know, two lines, two lines, one line for Kenyans, one line for anybody else that's not from Kenya, right? So I'm on the line where nobody else with Kenya he goes up to he comes up to me just me every is mad people online, bro And you know is is there's not it's not just white was black people like right aging people all type people in this one line He comes up to me. He was like, what are you doing on this line? Like just like that? What you mean? You should not be longer this time you belong on that line. You are Kenya you over there and I'm like, you know, he's screaming at me because I guess You know when you go somewhere, anywhere you can go, DR, Colombia, whatever, they usually treat the people that are from there different than the people that are not. Wherever you go, you can go anywhere.
- 25:19You got that tourist money. got that tourist money. Who's a foreigner? They might treat foreigners a little nicer than they treat the people from their area. So he's on my neck.
- 25:28Like, you get the foot over there. Why are you over there? You are not Kenyan. I mean, say, you are Kenyan. You are not American. You are Kenyan. And I'm like. No, bro. I'm like America. No, I'll do this night. I'll do this night. He grabbed my arm for me. I'm like, you know, my wife had to get my passport and like look at the man. He's like, oh, oh, oh, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. I thought you were Kenyan. I thought you were crazy.
- 25:48I got so many stories like crazy shit. Oh, one more thing. I'm sorry. Why we on it? My mom is going to come here for this, but I'm going to tell you a story about my mom because, you know, when we went to Egypt, we took our parents. Right. So, you know, my mom, uh, who's straight up super, New Yorker, super Caribbean, super, you know, and she's about her, she, she's setting her ways. So we land, not even Dominican, just like, you know, like that New York shit, like she's saying her ways that you can't tell me nothing. So we land like our, our, our, our airplane landed in Egypt in Cairo.
- 26:30And we were getting on another flight to go to some other part of Egypt. So we were just doing a transfer in Cairo in the main place.
- 26:40So my mom, you know, we've been on that. This is like the longest flight she's ever taken in her life at that point. Like she had never taken it. She's only flown from New York to D.R., from New York to Curaçao, New York to Aruba. She's never flown to that side of the world. She's never done nine hours. I need a fucking coffee. I need a coffee right now.
- 26:55I need a coffee. And we're like, mom. We were late to make it to our next flight. So we were running. We were running to the airport like, mom, we got to go. We got to get to the airport.
- 27:03We got to get to the other thing. Say, no, no, no, no, I my coffee. I need my coffee. So she stopped and she buys a coffee, right? So now we have to go to security again to get on the next plane. And it's the security shit. She has the X-ray They have the X-ray machine, right? Yo, my mom, so my mom, we all go through the X-ray machine. I went, my wife, all right, my wife's dad, whatever. My mom was the last one. So she put, we didn't know this. So she goes to security, right? And we're waiting for, everybody's waiting for the bag and you just see coffee start coming out of the fucking x-ray machine, pouring out of the x-ray machine.
- 27:37Nah. What? There's coffee pouring out of the x-ray machine. And we're like, I'm looking at this shit and I'm like, only I peeped it.
- 27:44I'm like, oh shit. So this coffee pulls out and then, you know, her bag comes out and she sees the coffee cup come out and she takes the coffee cup and she throws that shit in the garbage. She goes, she walks away. And I'm like, what the fuck? So we all walk away. And I told my wife, was like, yo, bro. I was like, I I didn't say, bro, said, babe, I think my mom's caught. I think my mom put her coffee through the X-ray machine. I think this shit's spilled in the X-ray machine. Wow. So I was like, ma, did you put your coffee through the X-ray machine? And she goes, I needed my coffee.
- 28:14I wanted my coffee. So I'm like, yo, bro. So we're sitting down now. We got to the gate.
- 28:18We're sitting down. Three Egyptian security come up. Word. And they're like, excuse me. We need your passport and we need your information because you damaged a x-ray machine and need you to pay for it. No way. Wow. Yo, you lie. I'm your boy. I swear to God, I am not lying. Yeah, but they fucked up. They fucked up because they should have been there watching like, how are you going to put that coffee that you can't go there? They don't care. How many times you got scalded and TSA be like, they literally just screaming at you. La la la, take this or take it all. Yo, but there's a thing bro, once you leave this country shit different like I guess guess once you leave the country So they come up to us and they're like, yo, need your passport. Bah bah bah bah.
- 29:01My mom was like I'm not giving you my passport fuck out of here Like they're like if you don't give us a passport we are going to arrest you and my mom's like I don't care arrest me I don't care what y'all do to me. I'm not giving my passport I ended up giving up my passport because I'm like, I'm never coming back here and I'll never pay for this machine ever again. yo, they tried to bill me for that shit. Really?
- 29:27No way. Yeah, they tried to bill me for that shit. They say you have voice? I might still be wanted in Egypt, man. Yeah, I wouldn't go back and file you, bro. What, got a mail?
- 29:36What, mailed you? Like, what the fuck? They emailed you? What'd say? They emailed me they did email me and I was just I never opened an email and then I was like I never gave me But I don't know but I might be a wanted man who knows you know saying they might be coming after me in Egypt dangerous vibes dangerous vibes That's crazy. Anyway your mom's from the BX right mom from the BX. Oh, yeah, you go. That's what it was She don't play that shit bro. Well, that was all that was my week in in Aruba And that was a great story, Kast.
- 30:12Wait, I have a question. I have a hip hop question for you guys. Tell me, y'all. So, you know, Complex has been on a run with putting out lists and shit. And I saw a list that interests me and I thought I wanted your guys' opinion on it. They put out a list that's the 100 greatest hip hop beats of all time. Oh, God. Right. Now, I'm to just give you the top 10. I'm going give you the top. Actually, you know what? I'm going give you the top 12. All right. Top 12 is Eazy-E, “Boyz-n-the-Hood.” Number 11, “It's All About the Benjamins.” Okay, classic. Number 10, “Nuthin' But a ‘G’ Thang.” Classic. Number 9, Nas, “N.Y. State of Mind.” I think a lot of people feel certain way about that one, but go ahead. Number 8, Clipse, “Grindin'.” Number 7, Audio Two, “Top Billin'.” Y'all still messing with that already? We still with you? Number 6, Eric B. & Rakim, “Paid in Full.” Yes. I love it. Number 5, Pete Rock & That's one of the greatest of all time, Fact.

- 32:04one drum roll. one: Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, “The Message.” Yeah Wow, I can't hate on that number one Wow Listen, bro.
- 32:14one drum roll. one: Listen. Okay that change the whole directory of rap the way people rap “Ain't No Half-Steppin'” wasn't in that top 12. “Ain't Here's a couple of records that I like cuz I looked at the whole list. I'm a hip-hop nerd like that looked at the whole list and Immediately, I started thinking about records that didn't even make their top 100 and you tell me what you guys think about this“You, Me, Him and Her” didn't make the top 100“Incarcerated Scarfaces” didn't make the top 100.
- 32:50one drum roll. one: Well, I could see that “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre didn't make the top 100. That's huge.
- 32:57one drum roll. one: That's... Wow. “Xxplosive” didn't make the top 100. “I Really Mean It” by Cam'ron didn't make the top 100. Let me see what else we got that's crazy. “Banned From T.V.” didn't make the top 100. You know, respectfully that's such a fucking classic. “I Got It Made,” Special Ed didn't make the top 100. Wow. Wow, unbelievable, Notorious B.I.G. didn't make the top 100 but “Who Shot Ya” is on the list though. Yeah. All right Yeah, I'm not mad at“The Message,” right, Grandmaster Flash. I'm not I respect it, bro I mean it's so hard. Like how do you number one beat of all-time hip-hop like I respect it, you know Yo, was Marley Marl's “The Symphony” on the list. I don't Oh Wow, you'll be there forever looking for that It's on the list is number Wow, there's number 56 on the list and“Ain't No Half-Steppin'” ain't on the list, come on what's about O.C., “Time's Up”?
- 34:03one drum roll. one: No, O.C., “Time's Up.” No, had that written down classic. It's not on the list Hold on, let me double check, but I didn't see it on the I hope there's a DJ involved when putting this list together, I don't think so. What do you think, what you think, what's your, do you have a top three, like off the top of your head? Like a top three for you? For me, for me, it's too much. It's too much. Like, I mean, I'd tell my top three“Shook Ones” for sure. For me it'd be like maybe The Chronic album, something on The Chronic album. Something on Nas' Illmatic album. It's too many for me is too many beats bro. I go crazy. I'm happy “Benjamins” was there cuz that's too class. I it was crazy. Yeah, it's a crazy beat. I was a game changer, bro Yeah, I mean listen not like “Not Like Us” made the list. Oh Really? Yeah, mean, yeah, but there's not too many beats there that's in the 2000 fucking 20s. No, there's like Um, well, let me see “March Madness” is on there. Really? 2020s, but it's up there. “March Madness” is It's 2015.

- 35:30one drum roll. one: I don't know if there's any Kanye songs on here. Damn. That is crazy. Oh wait, there is. “Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1” is on there. All right. It's hot. Oh, and also“Devil in a New Dress.” I love “Devil in a I'm still tagging “Ain't No Half-Steppin'” in there,“Ain't No Half-Steppin'” is not there, bro. Yo, that's crazy, bro. How can you That's disrespect. Yo. That's disrespect. Yo, bro. How can you not have that beat there bro? That beat is not on there bro, but you know, but look Lil Uzi Vert, I mean for the 2020s. Yes. Yes, that was you know, yeah Yeah, know that list got to be a little updated to him, you know, but yeah, I'm not mad at it It's one of the first lists that Complex made that I'm not all the way mad at not all the way mad Those lists are sometimes, you know, they're good for content, you know, to bring up fucking, to get you mad. Like me being pissed off that “Ain't No Half-Steppin'” let it go. You watch you fall fast through this. You right, Camilo. Yeah, those lists are made up for you to, you know. “Ain't No Half-Steppin'.” “Ain't No Half-Steppin'.” what else is not on there? Three 6 Mafia,“Stay Fly.” Wow, you got that. “Stay Fly.” You wanna know what should have been up there? I'm gonna tell you what should have been up there.
- 37:02one drum roll. one: This is super hip hop. Ready?
- 37:07one drum roll. one: That's on there. Oh, it's on there. Yeah, the 45 King's on there get out of here I thought I was so happy. That's why I was like, oh this this this lip my this might be legit It's definitely I definitely saw it on its own. It's number 52 on the list. Okay, I'm That's a straight fucking that's just a straight instrumental that's it You want to know who's you know, you want to know who sandwiches the “The 900 Number,” so 52 is the 45 King number 53 is Future, That's crazy. “Mask Off” is hot though.
- 37:39one drum roll. one: Can't front, “Lemonade” is hot too.
- 37:47one drum roll. one: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those are good records. Yeah, but you know, that made Come on. Yo, can we talk about “Ain't No Half-Steppin'”? “Ain't No Half-Steppin'” to me. Yo, I think of two things. I think of Mister Cee.
- 37:58one drum roll. one: And I think of Kid Capri, when Kid Capri does, he does that, that. And he fucks with it. He brings it back. brings it back. And changes the tones. Like, that's so hip hop, bro. Like, that's what comes to mind. how can I make it? All right, shut up, Camilo. Enough of that. Nah, don't shut up.
- 38:24one drum roll. one: Keep it going, bro. That's actually a good call out. I completely didn't even think about that one. But yeah, it's not on there, bro. I'm looking at it over and over and over. It's not on there.
- 38:33one drum roll. one: And for you youngins out there that don't know number one beat let's just play oh shit Let's just just play cuz you know, oh Oh snap I Think I think it's important. Of course. I got it.
- 38:48one drum roll. one: What is your thing? I think it's not they know they know what it is That's that's number one right that was the number one It is a great beat it is a great beat. Yeah, nice classic That's why I respect it cuz the classic hip-hop one of you know, of the records that I've record like fucking eight minutes long, Thanks. Yeah, they got a strong. got a strong top ten. I Complex, I guess I'll give a pass on that one Except for “Ain't No Half-Steppin'.” Yeah, you fucked up on I would have definitely took off“March Madness” or just to have whoa.
- 39:27one drum roll. one: Oh, but you know, I mean, you saw him be No, no, no, there's some crazy much. There's some beats that could have been it is it is I take that back, but there are some beats that could have been replaced and, Pop, respect. Oh, it's there on here. Not on the list. Oh, man.
- 39:45one drum roll. one: I'm done. I'm I'm going to go. That's why it's a tough list. That's too fire for me, bro.
- 39:53one drum roll. one: Come on. It is a tough list. I know I know I know what we can't play a beat too long right cuz we'll get like you can't get to it you can't get to all right well all right it is what it is but I mean all right that was good man I like that thank you for the hip-hop nerd thank you for the hip-hop nerd section of the hip-hop section Talk about hip hop nerd shot to all the hip hop nerds. We saw at the DJ Expo in Atlantic City this weekend. Oh, shit. All right. Let's get to scratch talk. Wallah, me, myself, Fat Fingaz, Scram Jones, DP One, DJ Camo.
- 40:30one drum roll. one: The Heavy Hitters was showing out and we're doing our thing. And that was in Atlantic City, right? Yes, sir. So what happens at this expo for the people that don't know? Well, they have showcases like. We went to Rock and Soul booth, you know, the famous Rock and Soul whatever the star and had and Scram Jones, Fingaz and a few others got busy. Of course they did. You know, no, they get busy. Yeah, you know, I go to those events just watching them. I'm oh, these guys. was like early in the afternoon, but in the evening around six, seven o'clock and they had like another DJ battle with your man, DJ Babu. From the West Coast. Oh, one of the yeah, one of the greatest. turn tables of all time was there. know that the OG was great to see him, bro. You see him, you're like, it's almost like you're looking at an alien.
- 41:20one drum roll. one: You know what I They ain't human. ain't human. You know him, Melo-D, also up in the Beat Junkies.
- 41:24one drum roll. one: And it's crazy because I've always heard his name, Melo-D, but I never got to see him play. So it was dope to see him actually get to play, play, play. Nice. That was dope.
- 41:34one drum roll. one: That was my highlight. So they showcase like new equipment, new controllers, new turntables, new fucking... you know, they got the booths, they got the Pioneer, Rane, the that.
- 41:43one drum roll. one: Right. All the new technology. That's super DJ Nerd Central right there. How'd you get there? Well, we drove. In Wallah's Bronco. Yo, Wallah told me. In the white Bronco, I thought we were going up in a Sprinter, then he pulled up in the OJ Bronco, the white Bronco. Were you, was Fat Fingaz in the car with you? Yes, he was. Yo, what I was like, yo, I drove all the way to Atlantic City and all the way back and Fat Fingaz talking about scratching.
- 42:16one drum roll. one: my God. Holy shit. My man. It was a good Yo, that's fire, bro. That's a dope vibe.
- 42:27one drum roll. one: I can't scratch for my life, bro. I can't, bro.
- 42:27one drum roll. one: I used to be able to do it. I was able to do it for like a nice little section of my DJ career for like six months to a year. I got nice with it. And then I just got to see DJs. When I first started coming up, I was definitely down with turntablism. I even did a battle, I'll never forget, Park Slope, in Sheepshead Bay one time. That GV, you know GV and Brist, they did a whole DJ battle and I went there and did the whole Audio Two “Top Billin'” set, you know, but, and there was a time when I was into it, but after a while I just, it's like, when you're rocking a crowd, you don't really, know, unless you're like fucking A-Trak who's in front of a crowd and just, you know, but I just, I don't know. I just fell out of love after a while. It's hard, bro. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like, you know what it's like?
- 43:19one drum roll. one: It's when I try to explain it to people, I go, all right, it's like this, right? It's like you all play basketball. Then you get to a certain point and you realize that there's some basketball players that are just a little bit better. You're going to you're going to run.
- 43:32one drum roll. one: You could be the nicest dude in your block.
- 43:36one drum roll. one: You're going to run into LeBron James one day and you're like, yo, that's different. Yeah.
- 43:41one drum roll. one: So those dudes that do all the DJ and you're going to dribble up to the court. You're going to be like, get that shit out of here. Yeah, he's going to come down. He's going to come down. Tweet, tweet, tweet, tweet. Twin, twin, pull back, spin, move and dunk it on you. Like, he's different. The turntable is a whole different level. So, you know, sometimes it's hard to explain to people that don't understand. Like, they'll be like, oh, well, how come you can't do this and go behind and that? I'm like, yo, but it's a different type of skill set. And, you know, I'm not afraid to admit it. Like, bro, that's a different type of skill. And it takes a lot of work, a lot of practice. And it's like, you got to really be into it. You know what saying? You got to really be. I've been watching Scram Jones, This kid, he is amazing, man. He's out of here. The shit that he be doing sometimes, like, he's just, wow.
- 44:30one drum roll. one: Like, when do you have time to even, wow, it's just crazy. Yo, shout out to Danny S. Danny S. came with us too. Danny S. too. Danny S.
- 44:34one drum roll. one: he's nice with it too, Danny S. too, bro. Like, we have a couple of nice people with it in the Danny S. is nice with it, Precise is nice with it, Fat Fingaz is nice with it. Heavy Hitter.

Yeah, I watch him Boogie Blind doing the 45s, bro. That's a whole nother world. Yanni's nice. Oh yeah, Yanni. Yanni's stupid. Yanni, yeah. Yanni made you believe you could scratch with house music.
- 45:05one drum roll. one: Yeah, fact. Yeah, shut up everybody. I'ma do what I do. Yeah, facts. With dance music.

- 45:33one drum roll. one: It was Underground, Frank Roth, Mike Medium, Kast One, Yuda, Wallah. And we had a great time and I didn't think Camilo was gonna last till the end of the night. I heard he was there the whole night. Yo, he left at 4 in the morning.
- 45:53one drum roll. one: the lights went on. Yep. Not only that, you know what saying? And from the beginning when he starts first, like, yo, you wanna come to my party? I was like, bro, I don't know if I'm gonna make it, but hey, sure, why not? then I popped out, showed up and I stayed till the end. I didn't do the walkout where he pieces out before you see him leave, which I usually do. You know what I'm saying? It was a great time. That's it.
