Speaker 1: for today's word, excellent is who you are? Daniel six
• 0:10
Speaker 1: and three in the message translation says, but Daniel, brimming
• 0:14
Speaker 1: with spirit and intelligence, so completely outclassed the other vice
• 0:21
Speaker 1: regents and governors that the King decided to put him
• 0:25
Speaker 1: in charge of the whole kingdom. Notice in today's scripture
• 0:30
Speaker 1: that it doesn't say God distinguished Daniel and he got promoted.
• 0:34
Speaker 1: It says Daniel distinguished himself by completely outclassing the other leaders.
• 0:41
Speaker 1: That means that Daniel was purposeful about being excellent and
• 0:45
Speaker 1: doing well. See that's what happens when you honor God
• 0:48
Speaker 1: and have an excellent spirit like Daniel did. You don't compromise.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: You don't just go with the flow and do what
• 0:55
Speaker 1: everybody else around you is doing and what everybody on
• 0:59
Speaker 1: Facebook or social media is doing. When you have an

Speaker 1: excellent spirit, God will give you unprecedented faith, creativity, and
• 1:09
Speaker 1: ideas so that, as with Daniel, you'll stand out in
• 1:13
Speaker 1: the crowd while still maintaining humility, you will outplass those
• 1:18
Speaker 1: who don't honor God. My question is, are you distinguishing
• 1:23
Speaker 1: yourself or are you sitting around and waiting for God
• 1:27
Speaker 1: to do it for you? Are you going above and
• 1:31
Speaker 1: be young, doing more than you have to and improving
• 1:34
Speaker 1: your own skills? Examine your life right now. We all
• 1:40
Speaker 1: have areas in which we can strive for excellence, whether
• 1:43
Speaker 1: it's how we treat people, how we present ourselves, or
• 1:47
Speaker 1: how we develop our skills. You are called to be
• 1:52
Speaker 1: a cut above. You have excellence inside. Excellent is who
• 1:58
Speaker 1: you are. Now do your part and be purposeful and
• 2:02
Speaker 1: disciplined to bring out your excellence. Oh tad like God,
• 2:09
Speaker 1: Thank you that you didn't make us just to go
• 2:13
Speaker 1: with the flow and do what everybody else is doing.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: Thank you that we can commit ourselves to striving for
• 2:20
Speaker 1: excellence in all that we do. God, we believe that
• 2:24
Speaker 1: as we honor you with our choices, you will cause
• 2:27
Speaker 1: us to stand out and shine for your glory in
• 2:32
Speaker 1: Jesus' name. Hey, now that's your word for today. I
• 2:37
Speaker 1: want you to take that word, apply it to your
