- 0:00Speaker 1: So anybody that says that he didn't give Trump the election,
- 0:04Speaker 1: you know, needs some Yeah, but this time Donald Trump
- 0:10Speaker 1: won the race, farre and square. I think, what do
- 0:13Speaker 1: you mean to think? Don't mean I mean I'm not
- 0:17Speaker 1: like him. I have to have some evidence to make
- 0:20Speaker 1: a charge. So, as far as I know, he won it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And there are a lot of reasons why. But and look,
- 0:28Speaker 1: I grew up in Trump country, and my native state,
- 0:35Speaker 1: Arkansas moved as far to the right from two thousand
- 0:38Speaker 1: and eight through twenty sixteen in any country, any state
- 0:42Speaker 1: in the country. And they had these great little the
- 0:46Speaker 1: Trump people had these great little Facebook clubs that had
- 0:52Speaker 1: answers to what all our friends were saying to him
- 0:56Speaker 1: in the campaigns. These are hardford campaigns, and the people
- 1:00Speaker 1: on both sides care a lot about politics. And there's
- 1:04Speaker 1: a lot more of that's going on in rural America.
- 1:06Speaker 1: And you may think where people are very discussing these
- 1:09Speaker 1: issues in a very sophisticated way, and why they look
- 1:14Speaker 1: at it's the way they do eating dinner with their parents,
- 1:16Speaker 1: doing these things and give them a chance to adjust
- 1:20Speaker 1: to this. So I said, okay, I'll try. And there's
- 1:26Speaker 1: a lot of that here and I see it every
- 1:28Speaker 1: time I go home. You know, we just went back
- 1:31Speaker 1: to Arkansas as we had the twentieth anniversary of the
- 1:34Speaker 1: opening of my library, and the people that were with
- 1:40Speaker 1: me thirty two years ago when I started, I can't
- 1:44Speaker 1: believe that they're still there. But the world moves on,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and things that once made sense to people don't anymore,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and things that should make sense don't anymore. We need
- 1:57Speaker 1: to quit screaming at each other and listen to each other. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: we need to have a serious conversation about these things.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And I think one of the things that Democrats sometimes
- 2:07Speaker 1: do is give up on too many people because the
- 2:11Speaker 1: demographics say they're not going to be for us. Well
- 2:14Speaker 1: that may be, but you know, if you don't deal
- 2:18Speaker 1: with something that's controversial just because you don't want to
- 2:22Speaker 1: hear it, that's like an insult of voters.
- 2:25Speaker 2: President Donald Trump will be returning to the White House
- 2:30Speaker 2: unburdened by the pressure of reelection, with sweeping immunity granted
- 2:36Speaker 2: to him, I believe, by the Supreme Court and an
- 2:39Speaker 2: alleged enemies list we're hearing. Do you think it would
- 2:43Speaker 2: be wise of President Biden to preemptively pardon any potential targets.
- 2:49Speaker 2: What about your wife, Hillary Clinton, She apparently is on
- 2:53Speaker 2: cash Betail's list.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, well, they got a problem with her because she
- 3:00Speaker 1: didn't do anything wrong, of course, seconds she followed the
- 3:03Speaker 1: rules exactly as they were written. Third Trump's State Department,
- 3:08Speaker 1: Trump's State Department found they remember how the emails was
- 3:13Speaker 1: such a big issue in twenty sixteen, Trump's State Department
- 3:17Speaker 1: found that Hillary sent and received exactly zero classified emails
- 3:25Speaker 1: on her purfle device. It was a whole that was
- 3:29Speaker 1: a made up, phony story. So you know, I guess
- 3:33Speaker 1: that Cash would tell is determined to make one up.
- 3:35Speaker 1: He could do it. But I think if President Biden
- 3:39Speaker 1: wanted to talk to me about that, I would talk
- 3:40Speaker 1: to him about it. But I don't think I should
- 3:42Speaker 1: be giving immigrants.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Have run two formidable female presidential candidates, and unfortunately our
- 3:48Speaker 3: glass ceiling has cracks in it, but it's still intact.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Why is that and why do you believe a Republican
- 3:54Speaker 3: woman is more likely to shatter it? As you said recently.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Because the impulse to say a woman probably shouldn't be
- 4:04Speaker 1: president comes more from the right than from the left
- 4:08Speaker 1: in the brain, and it's an impulsive thing, and I
- 4:13Speaker 1: think that if you just got normal circumstances. Angela Merkel,
- 4:19Speaker 1: for example, in Germany was a terrific leader and she
- 4:24Speaker 1: was in the center right party. So I think what
- 4:27Speaker 1: we have to do is to observe a peaceful transfer
- 4:31Speaker 1: of power, stand up for what we believe, and work
- 4:35Speaker 1: together when we can. Absolutely, I do not think we
- 4:38Speaker 1: should just be jamming them, even though they do that
- 4:43Speaker 1: to us a lot. I think it's a mistake.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Well, mister President, I want to ask you, Donald Trump
- 4:47Speaker 4: was in part elected this time around by getting some
- 4:51Speaker 4: of your original base. The base that propelled you to
- 4:53Speaker 4: win victory twice was working class vote voters very much
- 4:55Speaker 4: the back bone of America, and over the last twenty
- 4:58Speaker 4: years we've seen a lot of those shifts to the
- 5:00Speaker 4: Republican side. What do you attribute this to and what
- 5:03Speaker 4: do Democrats need to do to try to get the
- 5:05Speaker 4: working class coalition back.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Well, I think part of it is cultural. That is,
- 5:12Speaker 1: all over the world, people live in rural areas are
- 5:15Speaker 1: more conservative. I remember, I'll never forget when I got
- 5:20Speaker 1: out of office, the Chinese government asked my foundation to
- 5:25Speaker 1: come work on AIDS and they said, look, the Chinese
- 5:31Speaker 1: people still like you. You came here and you meet
- 5:33Speaker 1: and outreach to us, and the rural people are scared
- 5:37Speaker 1: of AIDS. So we want you to go out there
- 5:41Speaker 1: where the rates are high and be televised playing with
- 5:47Speaker 1: kids on the floor.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Especially since we've been trying to process the results of
- 5:52Speaker 5: this election. You know, in the book, you write that
- 5:56Speaker 5: after your wife Hillary has lost, when she lost to
- 5:58Speaker 5: Donald Trump in sixteen, you had an outbursts of region
- 6:02Speaker 5: and you didn't sleep for years, two years. I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 5: I still can't sleep.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You should call Joy, call me up.
- 6:10Speaker 5: So how are you sleeping now? What's going to happen now?
- 6:13Speaker 1: I'm sleeping better now because I did everything i could. Yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 1: for the alternative, but I also think it's important for
- 6:22Speaker 1: everybody to just take a deep breath and say, unlike
- 6:28Speaker 1: in twenty sixteen, there was no outside influence, like the
- 6:34Speaker 1: FBI director interfered at the last moment and violate for
- 6:37Speaker 1: the most seventy years of policy, and it changed five
- 6:41Speaker 1: percent overnight. In my lifetime, I've never seen a pole
- 6:46Speaker 1: change five percent overnight.
