Mariachi Music Brings Culture to Anaheim Schools | Orange County News
Anaheim Union High School District is launching a groundbreaking mariachi program at Ball Junior High this fall, partnering with the Mariachi Heritage Society to teach up to 40 students the rich history and art of mariachi music over 33 weeks. Led by sixth-generation musician Crystal Hernández—daughter of Grammy-nominated founder José Hernández—the program offers a vital bridge for teens who began learning mariachi in elementary school, now getting advanced training with district funding of $33,480.
