- 0:00Speaker 1: Indiana, Ohio State, a massive one of the Big Ten.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Indiana coming off a win in Lincoln. Ohio State just
- 0:08Speaker 2: with the one loss against Texas at this point. One
- 0:10Speaker 2: combined loss between these two teams, which is kind of
- 0:12Speaker 2: how we thought it would go at worst.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Indiana, what were your thoughts on them?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Because Nebraska really did a good job against them for
- 0:23Speaker 2: most of the game. I think Pate said they're just
- 0:26Speaker 2: hard to kill. And they were hard to kill. But
- 0:29Speaker 2: I certainly think they'll have to have a better performance
- 0:31Speaker 2: this weekend at home against Ohio State.
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is presented by PrizePix. What do you think about
- 0:35Speaker 1: this one?
- 0:35Speaker 3: There's two ways to look at Indiana right now. Number
- 0:38Speaker 3: one is, yeah, they're really hard to kill. And that's
- 0:41Speaker 3: something that I think every team that is an elite
- 0:44Speaker 3: will have to figure out a way to do. But
- 0:47Speaker 3: then there's also the, okay, you had your mulligan against
- 0:50Speaker 3: a Northwestern team that's good, but they're not Indiana good.
- 0:53Speaker 3: You had your opportunity against Nebraska, which is good. They're
- 0:58Speaker 3: a very good team. They're a very spunky team. But
- 1:01Speaker 3: they're not Indiana good. Ohio State is Indiana good. I'm sorry.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You can't have the lulls that you witnessed in those
- 1:08Speaker 3: two matchups of conference play and think that you're going
- 1:11Speaker 3: to be able to fight on back in the fourth
- 1:12Speaker 3: quarter unless you see what happened in the Texas game 2.0.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And let's be real. If you are Arthur Smith and
- 1:18Speaker 3: you are Ryan Day, and if you are Matt Patricia,
- 1:23Speaker 3: you can't afford a 21-point differential in the fourth quarter.
- 1:27Speaker 3: It's just impossible. There's no way that your fan base
- 1:29Speaker 3: is going to buy into you anymore if you blow
- 1:31Speaker 3: it a second time, even if it is against a
- 1:34Speaker 3: team like Indiana. Because to be completely frank, I think
- 1:36Speaker 3: Ohio State, when they play at their peak, they may
- 1:40Speaker 3: be the best team in college football. and they allowed
- 1:42Speaker 3: Texas to find a way to get back in that game. Now,
- 1:44Speaker 3: Texas took their advantages, and Indiana could take their advantages,
- 1:47Speaker 3: but Indiana also cannot afford a slow start. So, what
- 1:51Speaker 3: are some things I'm looking for in this game if
- 1:53Speaker 3: I am Indiana? Number one, can my defense do what
- 1:57Speaker 3: it did in the Big Ten Championship game? Do you
- 1:59Speaker 3: remember that game, DJ? Remember how good that defensive line was?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Nine tackles for loss, five sacks. They also were able
- 2:06Speaker 3: to hold basically everything at bay. I think it was
- 2:10Speaker 3: like 2.6 yards per play. 56 total rushing yards. They
- 2:13Speaker 3: made Julian saying, beat you deep. And they said, Julian,
- 2:17Speaker 3: if you want to go ahead and get us, that's fine.
- 2:19Speaker 3: And he did. Cardinal take at the touchdown. Jeremiah Smith
- 2:22Speaker 3: had over 144 yards. But they took away the run
- 2:24Speaker 3: game and they said, we're going to get after you.
- 2:26Speaker 3: And so you're going to need that type of performance again.
- 2:28Speaker 3: This is a still, I think, uncertain Ohio State offensive line.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Doesn't mean it's bad. It's not at the elite levels
- 2:35Speaker 3: that we've seen in the past. 2024's offensive line, 2023's
- 2:38Speaker 3: offensive line, it's good. But this is a defense with
- 2:42Speaker 3: Bryant Haynes calling the shots that can go ahead and
- 2:44Speaker 3: get after Julian saying and force him to either have
- 2:47Speaker 3: to make multiple mental mistakes that lead to early turnovers or...
- 2:51Speaker 3: He's going to have to tuck and run it and
- 2:52Speaker 3: just pick up a few yards to where now it's
- 2:54Speaker 3: third and eight. And now you know what kind of
- 2:55Speaker 3: passing count it is. Now on the flip side, how
- 2:58Speaker 3: about for Ohio State? You know for a fact that
- 3:00Speaker 3: Jeremiah Smith is going to get his. Because everybody knows
- 3:03Speaker 3: Jeremiah Smith is going to get his. I need somebody
- 3:06Speaker 3: else to kind of step on up in this game.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Because if they start sending the house the way that
- 3:09Speaker 3: I think Indiana can, and Indiana going into this game,
- 3:12Speaker 3: like a lot of people forget this, they're top three
- 3:15Speaker 3: in sacks currently in college football. They get pressure on
- 3:19Speaker 3: the quarterback. I got to be able to get short
- 3:21Speaker 3: passes off. So is this the game where Chris Henry,
- 3:23Speaker 3: maybe I go ahead and just give him a little
- 3:25Speaker 3: screen pass and he goes up for seven yards. Is
- 3:27Speaker 3: this the game where Brandon Innes goes ahead and makes
- 3:29Speaker 3: his name known as a difference maker? Because if he
- 3:31Speaker 3: takes a six yard curl pattern and turns it into
- 3:34Speaker 3: a 20 yard game because they're sending the house. that's
- 3:36Speaker 3: something to me that I think is going to end
- 3:39Speaker 3: up being a major factor for Arthur Smith. He is
- 3:41Speaker 3: going to have to call a game plan that allows
- 3:44Speaker 3: you to be able for Julian Singh to play with
- 3:46Speaker 3: that consistent surgical mentality, but instead of waiting for the
- 3:49Speaker 3: play-action pass downfield, waiting for those deep shots to Jeremiah Smith.
- 3:52Speaker 3: You're going to get those, but it's going to be
- 3:54Speaker 3: a lot more digging and dunking and trying to win
- 3:56Speaker 3: at the point of attack that your receivers can go upfield.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Indiana in this game, your rushing attack was very mid
- 4:03Speaker 3: the last two matchups in my opinion. You know, not
- 4:06Speaker 3: the Rutgers game. The Rutgers game, my apologies. But the
- 4:07Speaker 3: last few times that you struggled, your rushing attack was
- 4:09Speaker 3: nowhere near at the level of what I want it
- 4:11Speaker 3: to be. Now, part of that was the Turbo Richard injury,
- 4:13Speaker 3: so that was a big deal. But last week, Nebraska
- 4:16Speaker 3: held you to, what was it, if I'm not mistaken?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Was it 65 rushing yards? Lee Beebe and Turbo Richard
- 4:23Speaker 3: are two running backs that I think are some of
- 4:25Speaker 3: the best in the Big Ten. They really are good.
- 4:28Speaker 3: is there a moment to where they can get one
- 4:30Speaker 3: of those two breakaway runs or so? Because that may
- 4:32Speaker 3: be all you're asking for in this game. Like literally
- 4:34Speaker 3: was one or two gains of 40 that is busted
- 4:37Speaker 3: coverage because of Matt Patricia is sending a blitzer through
- 4:40Speaker 3: the A gap and he misses at the point of
- 4:42Speaker 3: attack behind the line of scrimmage. So that's one. Josh
- 4:44Speaker 3: Hoover so far has been playing clean football. I mean, like,
- 4:46Speaker 3: let's be real. The main question that we had going
- 4:49Speaker 3: into this season was, is the turnovers that we saw
- 4:52Speaker 3: last year in Fort Worth going to be a hindrance
- 4:55Speaker 3: in Bloomington? And he hasn't done a pick so far.
- 4:57Speaker 3: and he was able to get the ball rolling in
- 4:59Speaker 3: the second half, the big touchdown pass to Nick Marsh,
- 5:02Speaker 3: not the one on fourth down, but the one that
- 5:03Speaker 3: was the 76-yard scamper, you saw him make some plays.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Can you, if you are Matt Patricia, make Josh Hoover
- 5:11Speaker 3: look like Fort Worth Josh Hoover? Because so far, he
- 5:14Speaker 3: has been perfect. And that's been a reason why, even
- 5:17Speaker 3: in these low-scoring affairs, where an Aiden Childs can get
- 5:21Speaker 3: a touchdown pass to get back in this one. Nebraska
- 5:24Speaker 3: can be able to jump up to a 17-6 lead.
- 5:26Speaker 3: The reason why they haven't been able to close the
- 5:29Speaker 3: door is because Josh Hoover in the second half doesn't
- 5:31Speaker 3: have a turnover. They're going to have to force a turnover.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I think that is a major stay in this one.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And then on the flip side, you got to get
- 5:38Speaker 3: a faster start if you're Indiana's offense too. You have to.
- 5:41Speaker 3: you cannot afford to be down 10, nothing. You're down 10, nothing.
- 5:45Speaker 3: You're going to need a giant interception on Julian saying,
- 5:48Speaker 3: and short field position to be able to gain momentum
- 5:50Speaker 3: back to your side, especially because of Ohio state does
- 5:53Speaker 3: not usually give you short field opportunities. You're going to
- 5:56Speaker 3: need to go ahead and take the mic for yourself
- 5:57Speaker 3: in this one.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I just wonder.
- 6:02Speaker 2: If Indiana plays with fire again this week, which I
- 6:05Speaker 2: think they've done at times this year. And I think
- 6:08Speaker 2: Nebraska is a good team. I ranked them in my
- 6:10Speaker 2: CFA poll. So I'll give you some grace there. I
- 6:14Speaker 2: think Nebraska played way, way up, but you knew that
- 6:17Speaker 2: was coming, right? That, that shouldn't have been a surprise
- 6:19Speaker 2: to you. If Indiana kind of plays with its food
- 6:21Speaker 2: a little bit in this game, and I'm not calling
- 6:24Speaker 2: Ohio state food by any means, but if they don't
- 6:27Speaker 2: execute the way that they need to, if they're going
- 6:29Speaker 2: to rely on two fourth quarter touchdowns to come back again, or,
- 6:32Speaker 2: or whatever it ends up being, that is not going
- 6:35Speaker 2: to work out incredibly well for them. This Ohio state team,
- 6:39Speaker 2: Indiana's defensive line, they were super high on it. I
- 6:41Speaker 2: don't think it's performed up to the, I think it's
- 6:43Speaker 2: still been really good. I don't think it's performed up
- 6:45Speaker 2: to the level they thought it was coming into this year.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And if you give say in time, if you allow
- 6:51Speaker 2: that running game to be effective, if you let Jeremiah
- 6:55Speaker 2: Smith get the ball in his hands more often than
- 6:57Speaker 2: you would like, that is certainly not a recipe. That's
- 7:00Speaker 2: going to work out really, really well for this Indiana team.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I do have a lot of confidence in this defense.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I think Hoover has played exceptionally well. I think Ohio
- 7:10Speaker 2: state's playing better football right now than Indiana is. I
- 7:14Speaker 2: don't think that's, I don't think that's, no, I'm not
- 7:16Speaker 2: saying it's, you know, the level of Florida state Miami,
- 7:19Speaker 2: who's playing better football, but I think Ohio state's playing
- 7:22Speaker 2: a little bit better. I've got a little bit more
- 7:24Speaker 2: confidence in them because of that. And I, I'd lean
- 7:28Speaker 2: Ohio state here. Can Bloomington be what, uh, Lincoln was
- 7:32Speaker 2: last week.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It should be. This is the best game they've had
- 7:35Speaker 1: in Bloomington in how long? It should be.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Ever?
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Ever?
- 7:41Speaker 2: Probably. They've never had a top 10 matchup where they
- 7:44Speaker 2: were in it. It may have welcomed a higher ranked
- 7:48Speaker 2: opponent than Ohio State is.
- 7:50Speaker 3: They were in both top 10 in this matchup.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Correct. Both top 7.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Like I need Bloomington to be as on fire as
- 7:57Speaker 2: Lincoln was last week. I spoke with people in Lincoln.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Like it was a nut house there and it looks
- 8:02Speaker 2: like it impacted the game. I need that same thing. Now,
- 8:05Speaker 2: Ohio state, probably a little more apt to deal with
- 8:10Speaker 2: hostile road environments. They do it all the time because
- 8:13Speaker 2: everybody guns for Ohio state and everybody wants to beat them. So,
- 8:16Speaker 2: but I need Bloomington to make an impact, which I
- 8:19Speaker 2: don't really have doubts that it will.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I think you have to win this turnover battle.
- 8:25Speaker 2: That has to be like, you, you can't give, I
- 8:28Speaker 2: don't think that it would be, I don't think that
- 8:32Speaker 2: it would be a situation where, you know, like the
- 8:36Speaker 2: Oklahoma Texas game, like red river was last week, but
- 8:40Speaker 2: you cannot allow a team that I think is probably
- 8:42Speaker 2: more talented than you top to bottom have short fields
- 8:47Speaker 2: or extra possessions. If Hoover can continue playing clean in
- 8:50Speaker 2: this game, I think it's a fourth quarter game and
- 8:52Speaker 2: the better team will win. I'd still lean Ohio state
- 8:55Speaker 2: in that situation. Not that I don't think there's a
- 8:57Speaker 2: path for Indiana to get this done, but you've got
- 9:00Speaker 2: to take care of the ball. The place has to
- 9:02Speaker 2: be an absolute madhouse, which I think it will. But I,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I think this is a good game that goes into
- 9:08Speaker 2: the fourth quarter and the better team's going to win.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I just think Ohio state's playing a little bit better
- 9:12Speaker 2: right now. And so I'll take the Buckeyes through 2720.
- 9:18Speaker 3: So here's the thing. Do you know what the point
- 9:20Speaker 3: differential is for Ohio states? Is that loss in week two?
- 9:25Speaker 1: A whole hell of a lot to a little.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Do you want me to tell you? Because I did
- 9:29Speaker 3: the math before I came out. 160 to 52. By
- 9:34Speaker 3: the way, 13 of those points came when games were
- 9:38Speaker 3: already out of reach. So it's not like it was like, oh, yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 3: it was like a close call. No, you have the
- 9:43Speaker 3: Helinski touchdown in the Iowa game when it was then 35-6.
- 9:48Speaker 3: You have the late touchdown in the Illinois game. That's
- 9:51Speaker 3: 13 points because they go for two. And there's a
- 9:53Speaker 3: field goal, I think, in one of those matchups. It
- 9:56Speaker 3: never has been close. Like, like that that differential is
- 9:59Speaker 3: not there it's like really 30 points so they're playing
- 10:02Speaker 3: out of their mind you have to find a way
- 10:05Speaker 3: to stop Jeremiah Smith or at least contain Jeremiah Smith
- 10:07Speaker 3: and let him not get more than what he is
- 10:10Speaker 3: accustomed to. If he has a 200-yard game, game's over.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I mean, that's been the nature of anybody that goes
- 10:15Speaker 3: up against him. Because Texas held him to 168, and
- 10:17Speaker 3: they were playing a lot of zone covers, and then
- 10:19Speaker 3: they said, screw it, we will go into man, and
- 10:22Speaker 3: we will shut him down. And because of that, there
- 10:25Speaker 3: were some bad drops, but there was also really, really,
- 10:27Speaker 3: really good plays. And Jeremiah Smith got his last season
- 10:29Speaker 3: in the Big Ten championship game. The problem was is
- 10:32Speaker 3: that nobody else really got his. Jeremiah Smith, if I'm
- 10:34Speaker 3: not mistaken, had 144 yards. Everybody else had 120 combined
- 10:39Speaker 3: for 14 catches. Like, if that's the way that Indiana's
- 10:42Speaker 3: got to win, that's fine. But there is one thing
- 10:46Speaker 3: that I didn't mention. Last year, Indiana had an incredible
- 10:50Speaker 3: defensive player that I thought was the biggest name to replace.
- 10:54Speaker 3: And that was D'Angelo Ponce. I don't think that you
- 10:57Speaker 3: have a D'Angelo Ponce 2.0 on this team. that can
- 10:59Speaker 3: really do his job of taking away one.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Half of the field.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Because literally, it felt like last season, Brian Haynes would go, five, you,
- 11:07Speaker 3: ten other players, rest the field. And I don't know
- 11:10Speaker 3: if you had that. I think that both these teams
- 11:12Speaker 3: are good. I think both these teams are going to
- 11:13Speaker 3: the playoff. I think personally, after what we witnessed last
- 11:16Speaker 3: week with Oregon, this is going to be a rematch
- 11:19Speaker 3: in Indianapolis come early December. I just think that right now,
- 11:22Speaker 3: when you look at Ohio State, they're a much more
- 11:24Speaker 3: complete team. And they're not going to find a way
- 11:26Speaker 3: to shoot themselves in the foot in the fourth quarter.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Back and forth battle. I go 24-20 Ohio State, even
- 11:32Speaker 3: with a ravenous atmosphere. 11 a.m. kick, and the team's
- 11:36Speaker 3: already been tested. When you look at Indiana, North Texas,
- 11:38Speaker 3: Western Kentucky, Howard, Rutgers, Northwestern, and Nebraska. I lean a
- 11:45Speaker 3: little bit more Ohio State. But watch Kirk Cignetti once
- 11:48Speaker 3: again tell us, hey, doubt us at your will, you idiots.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I'm better, because that's what we'll do.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I'm already waiting for it. I'm going to blacklist Kirk
- 11:56Speaker 2: Cignetti very soon. I've already done that with Kirby Smart.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I thought I was cute a couple of years ago
- 12:02Speaker 2: and bet against him, and now my rule in life
- 12:05Speaker 2: is you don't bet against Kirby Smart.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I'm probably going to have to do that with Cignetti
- 12:09Speaker 1: here very, very soon. So prove me wrong, Kurt.
- 12:12Speaker 3: It's the only game I think they lose this season.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm still saying 11.
- 12:17Speaker 3: It's just that you're losing.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's pick some things from this game. Prize picks,
- 12:23Speaker 1: HMA is the code.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Play $ 5, get 150 in lineups instantly if you win
- 12:27Speaker 2: using that code HMA. Do you like Jeremiah to score
- 12:30Speaker 2: a touchdown?
- 12:32Speaker 1: Yes. I'll take the more.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Josh Hoover, 15.5 fantasy score. So it works a lot
- 12:40Speaker 2: like NFL. So a touchdown is worth four every 20
- 12:44Speaker 2: or 25 passing yards is, is one. I don't think
- 12:47Speaker 2: you get anything for completions. Rushing score would be six,
- 12:50Speaker 2: 15 and a half. That's an interesting number.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So we need like, 200 yards, 250 yards. 200 yards
- 12:57Speaker 1: would be eight points, two touchdowns. 200 yards, two touchdowns.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, about 210. No interceptions also because you could lose
- 13:05Speaker 3: points for that.
- 13:05Speaker 1: You lose points there.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I will go less because if I think of this
- 13:09Speaker 3: as the game, he throws an interception. I think that's
- 13:11Speaker 3: going to cost him. I think it would be like
- 13:13Speaker 3: right at like 15 on the dot.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I'm going to go less because I think they run more.
- 13:18Speaker 2: But again, I said they were going to score two touchdowns.
- 13:21Speaker 2: if I'm predicting 20 points. So yeah, I don't think
- 13:24Speaker 2: he has both of them. I think they at least
- 13:25Speaker 2: run one in Julian saying 199.5 passing yards.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I'll go more slightly. I think it's like around two 20.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I'll go more as well. Hoover two 16. I'll go
- 13:36Speaker 2: less there again. I don't, I'd have to go more
- 13:40Speaker 2: on fantasy score.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Well, maybe not.
- 13:41Speaker 2: You could run a couple in, he could have a
- 13:43Speaker 2: big passing game, but I think it's a lower scoring.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Not super high scoring. So I'll go less.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I go more. I think that he actually ends up
- 13:49Speaker 3: throwing for about 250. I just think that he throws
- 13:51Speaker 3: an interception, which is why the 15 and a half
- 13:53Speaker 3: doesn't work.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Jeremiah Smith, 124.5 receiving yards. Huge number.
- 13:58Speaker 3: I go less. I think this is the one game
- 14:00Speaker 3: where it's like, I think that he ends up finding
- 14:02Speaker 3: the end zone twice, but maybe it's for six catches
- 14:04Speaker 3: for like 110.
- 14:07Speaker 2: We've agreed on everything and we'll agree here too. I'm less,
- 14:10Speaker 2: whatever you pick in this other one, I'm going to
- 14:11Speaker 2: take the opposite.
- 14:12Speaker 3: So I already took the two. Why did you take
- 14:14Speaker 3: the more with the past? Oh, you did.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 1: We're good.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:16Speaker 1: We disagree.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Okay. Good.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Nick Marsh. Does he score a touchdown?
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that they, I think that they, they
- 14:22Speaker 3: try to lock up Charlie Becker and that Marshall will
- 14:24Speaker 3: be the one that's going, which by the way, Marsh
- 14:25Speaker 3: last week, like if that's the person we get moving forward,
- 14:28Speaker 3: that's probably the more complete wide receiver, which is not
- 14:31Speaker 3: a shot at Charlie. It's just, yeah, he's, this is
- 14:33Speaker 3: why you brought him on in from Michigan state.
- 14:35Speaker 1: They're incredibly dangerous if both of them are good. Um, but.
