- 0:17SPEAKER_03: Anyway, out of the 10 people with a girl in the back seat, she had a bullet under her butt.
- 0:22SPEAKER_04: And three, two, one.
- 0:24SPEAKER_04: I'm DJ and U.
- 0:25SPEAKER_04: I'm DJ Camillo.
- 0:27SPEAKER_04: I'm DJ Cast One, and I'm Lem Books, a K L Books.

- 0:42SPEAKER_04: Welcome once again to the Heavy the DJs podcast.
- 0:44SPEAKER_04: Cry Mover Lem Books, Blood Cloud.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: Blood Clyde.
- 0:48SPEAKER_04: I'm back.
- 0:49SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: I hit the button, my bad.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: President DJ Duff cast one of the place to welcome my very old DJ E Fezy to the podcast.
- 0:57SPEAKER_04: Fezy, what up, Fezy?
- 0:58SPEAKER_05: Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo, Feezy.
- 1:01SPEAKER_05: E Feezy.
- 1:02SPEAKER_05: Oh, you gotta give you gotta give Efezy a better intro than that, man.
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: No, I gotta, I gotta, uh something.
- 1:08SPEAKER_04: E Fezy, one of the gods of the heavy hitter logo, and I say that because he's so adamant about it, and the way he protects this heavy hitter logo is something that to be applauded.
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: But E Feasy, how many states do you represent now in 2026?
- 1:26SPEAKER_03: I gotta ask.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: You know, I mean, what once upon a time I was in Alabama on Huntsville, and I was bothering enough when he had that office and he was at B.E.T.
- 1:35SPEAKER_03: So I'll go ahead and claim New York at the same time.
- 1:38SPEAKER_04: As you should.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Then uh moved to Memphis, then after Memphis, uh moved to Louisville, and then that's when I became hitter in Kentucky.
- 1:50SPEAKER_04: Man.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: And after that, I took the dive of a lifetime that moved to Miami when everybody thought I was fucking nuts.
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: And now how old were you when you did Miami again?
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: I was like 26.
- 2:02SPEAKER_04: Man, that's a lot.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: But but real quick, uh, you know, I know you've told it, and we've said it when we in groups, and you said it to the new guys and the new girls that we put on.
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: E Fezy's heavy hitter story started when you was over at um what were you doing at BET when you know what's doing 106?
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: I was an intern at BET.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: So I was interested but I was sneaked down to the 106 and park floor on the Rap City floor on the other side.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: And um I met enough, seen enough, and then it was it was on from what what what was his name?
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: Um uh Julio?
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: Julio, yeah.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so Hools was dating a girl I was dating's cousin, and so we just used to kind of sneak around in high 97, and he used to let me beat enough, and I used to go back to where I was staying at during my internships and make mixtapes every day.
- 3:00SPEAKER_03: And then I give them to enough, and then I hear Julio like, yo, did he listen to the mixtape?
- 3:05SPEAKER_03: Do you listen to the mixtape?
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: Wherever they were driving.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: I don't know if it was Jersey or Connecticut, but wherever they were, I was like, yo, they listen to the mixtape.
- 3:12SPEAKER_03: I was like, oh, you don't want to listen to it?
- 3:14SPEAKER_03: I made one every day.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: Until he caught me in the office and he had a stack of my mixtapes on his desk.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: So we don't.
- 3:21SPEAKER_03: And so then when he asked me what I want, I said, I want to come heavy, and he was like, So where are you at?
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: It's like I'm in Alabama.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: And he's like, okay.
- 3:29SPEAKER_03: Call me when you graduate school.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Shit.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: I was like, damn, alright, cool.
- 3:35SPEAKER_03: So I had like probably like two, two, three years left, something like that.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: And then I waited.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: So so at so at that time when you were entering in BET, you were entering at BET through school?
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: Or did you finish through school?
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: Because the funny part is, you know, Tuma.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah his dad was my English teacher.
- 3:57SPEAKER_05: Wow, there we go.
- 3:58SPEAKER_05: So I was trying to find I was trying to find how you make it.
- 4:01SPEAKER_05: Because you know, because like books said, you've been so many different places.
- 4:05SPEAKER_05: Like, so from Alabama, you you made it all the way to New York City to a BET internship.
- 4:12SPEAKER_03: And at that time, yeah, Tunis was working at BET.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: It was his dad was my English, my English teacher.
- 4:19SPEAKER_03: I was in summer school calling shit.
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: I told all the DJs, and he was like, oh, my son works at BET.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: I was like, I need an internship.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: So me and my cousin went up there.
- 4:30SPEAKER_04: Facts.
- 4:30SPEAKER_04: And and then, but do you knew about the whole heavy hitter thing once you got there?
- 4:33SPEAKER_04: You knew about it before that, just by listening and okay.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: I knew about it before.
- 4:38SPEAKER_03: And I never told this story to today.
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: So don't be mad at me, y'all.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: I stole the heavy hitter drop him as usual on through college anyway.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: The thing E Fezy is so protective over, you did it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: So that's why you know, because you did it.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: I did it.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: And none of y'all, none of it, none of it look at E Space, he's like, what?
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, none of y'all do that until right now.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: So he basically, you know, that is the funniest shit.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: You did exactly what you don't want people to do.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think I think I ripped it up with Camelo mixer.
- 5:12SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say my story now.
- 5:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 5:16SPEAKER_06: So I'm leaving 106 in the park.
- 5:19SPEAKER_06: We're doing a taping.
- 5:21SPEAKER_06: I'm going into my car, and he fee infiltrates me from going to my vehicle.
- 5:26SPEAKER_06: And he's like, yo, hold up.
- 5:28SPEAKER_06: And he's like, Yo, I told you I want to be a heavy hitter, blah, blah, blah, blah, bright.
- 5:33SPEAKER_06: So I gave him a list of things to do.
- 5:36SPEAKER_06: He did.
- 5:37SPEAKER_06: And I put it on a piece of paper.
- 5:39SPEAKER_06: Oh shit.
- 5:40SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but hold up, y'all.
- 5:41SPEAKER_06: This is the fucked up shit.
- 5:42SPEAKER_06: I mean, I fucked up, the great shit.
- 5:45SPEAKER_06: Feasy brought back the piece of paper with everything crossed out and checked that he accomplished that I told him to do.
- 5:54unknown: Yeah.
- 5:54SPEAKER_06: That's dope.
- 5:55SPEAKER_06: Graduated from school, check.
- 5:57unknown: Yeah.
- 5:59SPEAKER_06: Check.
- 5:59SPEAKER_06: And I was, and then he was like, yo, here.
- 6:02SPEAKER_06: He knows the paper.
- 6:03SPEAKER_05: Look, bro, I did it.
- 6:05SPEAKER_05: Now I have a question for you, E.
- 6:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_05: Did you actually think he was gonna do that, or did he just do that paper to give him to get away from you?
- 6:13SPEAKER_05: Yo, bro.
- 6:14SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna go with the keep it real.
- 6:16SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna go with the ladder.
- 6:17SPEAKER_06: The last time I I spoke to him, I knew he I knew he lived in Louisville, Kentucky.
- 6:23SPEAKER_06: I think I went there and I was trying to catch up with him during the um what you what y'all got famous?
- 6:31SPEAKER_06: The famous horse race?
- 6:32SPEAKER_06: The Derby there.
- 6:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 6:33SPEAKER_06: And because Biggie was performing somewhere for the Derby, or like around that time, the city was on fire.
- 6:39SPEAKER_06: And I was trying to find him, but I we didn't get to connect for whatever reason.
- 6:44SPEAKER_06: But then I think it was Los, Lil Lowe's, who was like, yo, I I think it was Lil' Lowe's.
- 6:50SPEAKER_06: I said, yo, you gotta tap in with Feedy.
- 6:51SPEAKER_06: This guy's dope.
- 6:53SPEAKER_06: He runs Kentucky at this point.
- 6:56SPEAKER_03: It was crazy because.
- 6:58SPEAKER_06: In my mind, I'm like, yo, I just I just came from Kentucky.
- 7:01SPEAKER_06: Damn.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: Because what what what happened, even though I was in the smaller markets, I was still doing serious radio when I was living in Alabama.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: So I was kind of running through um Wax 42 and on a couple other shows.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: I just showed it like red alert, and I just kind of concentrated on my um syndication game at that time because it was strong.
- 7:28SPEAKER_03: So even when I moved to Lur, even though it was a very like super spell market, I was still doing serious and I was doing like you know, Rust Par in the morning show, which was another syndicated show.
- 7:39SPEAKER_03: So I mean, I think it kind of made sense in that end, besides me being annoying as fuck.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: And then and then and then was it just it was it just let me go try something new or this that's too saturated where I'm at?
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: Let me go make this move over to Miami.
- 7:54SPEAKER_04: But wait.
- 7:55SPEAKER_04: Hold on, hold on, wait.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: My bad, my bad, guys.
- 8:00SPEAKER_06: Narrate, marinate, marinate.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: Because this Louisville part of it was a really big part of it because um I actually went out there to do a party with E Feezy.
- 8:09SPEAKER_05: I never forgot this.
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: Went to Louisville for like a weekend, right?
- 8:12SPEAKER_05: He was like, yo, I'm gonna bring you out here, whatever, whatever.
- 8:14SPEAKER_05: I was like, I don't know what to expect.
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: Who the hell I knew nothing about Louisville.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: But when I told you that Feezy was pretty much the mayor at that time, it was like I remember you guys, you rented out a you guys rented out a bank and did an all-black party.
- 8:30SPEAKER_05: You know, like they rented out a bank and did an all-black party pack, right?
- 8:34SPEAKER_05: And so I just wanted to know, because you know, you were one of the DJs that came out, you know, a lot of people that kind of like blow up or do their thing come are coming from major markets, right?
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: So you were one of those guys that came from smaller market and worked your way all the way through these markets.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: So like what got you to Louisville to even begin with, right?
- 8:53SPEAKER_03: Because it was so when I got out of college, I moved to Memphis and I was doing like overnights area there.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_03: And then um the radio station shut down and they kind of squeezed me out of Memphis.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: So it was like there were three radio stations.
- 9:11SPEAKER_03: We were in the new station that came, that shut down.
- 9:15SPEAKER_03: Then I was trying to get on the other two stations, but I was killing it in that market too, just on the DJ shit like doing the clubs, and they were like, yeah, nah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_03: You who can't have you over here.
- 9:25SPEAKER_03: So they squeezed me out.
- 9:27SPEAKER_03: And so then she had a job open, I forget that site they used to have radio jobs on, but a job opening had opened up in Louisville, it was like doing nights, and then it was like uh music director, and I was like, Yeah, I'll go over there and shit.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: I just move.
- 9:42SPEAKER_05: That's that's simple.
- 9:44SPEAKER_04: I mean, it is what it is, if that's where it's at.
- 9:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:47SPEAKER_05: And then and then around this time is when you became a heavy hater, right?
- 9:50SPEAKER_05: When you were in Louisville.
- 9:52SPEAKER_03: Like literally the the time I touched down.
- 9:55SPEAKER_05: Got it.
- 9:56SPEAKER_05: So now Bugs, to Bugs' point.
- 9:59SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: Now you you you've done what you've done, and then all of a sudden, was it another squeeze out that made you uh go to Fort?
- 10:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, the the ultimate squeeze out.
- 10:09SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: Oh, we know sticking credit.
- 10:12SPEAKER_04: Hold on.
- 10:15SPEAKER_06: I got the end that Kyler was leaving Miami, the market.
- 10:19SPEAKER_06: Uh, I got it.
- 10:20SPEAKER_06: I told Feezy, my man, you gotta come to Miami.
- 10:23SPEAKER_06: It's an open it's an open lane for you here.
- 10:25SPEAKER_06: Did I not?
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: He said, You I gotta tell you exactly what you said.
- 10:29SPEAKER_03: You say Khaled.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: No, it wasn't Calla, it was Mauricio.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: Because Mauricio was moving to New York.
- 10:37SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay, Mauricio.
- 10:38SPEAKER_06: I was one of Miami guys.
- 10:39SPEAKER_06: Uh yeah, yeah.
- 10:40SPEAKER_03: Mauricio was moving to New York.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: He was like, yo, you should go to Miami.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: And I was like, all right, cool.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: I just kind of looked at it a little bit, but I was just, you know, sometimes when you're in you know those small towns, the cost of living is so cheap, so you just kind of get real comfortable.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: And then some guys made me very uncomfortable.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, no, they almost killed me.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: Literally.
- 11:06SPEAKER_03: So yeah, so long story short, me and he was already talking about it, but I was just kind of like, all right, like, you know, cost of living is cool down here, but I had a neighbor, I make the long story short.
- 11:22SPEAKER_03: So I had a neighbor.
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: He was getting evicted.
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: He had came from doing a party, I gave him the money.
- 11:27SPEAKER_03: The party I was like, yeah, if you come work for me, we good.
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: So he came and work for me at the black party that you were talking about, right?
- 11:33SPEAKER_03: So then I found out that he just plotting to steal some money.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: Steal the money.
- 11:37SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 11:38SPEAKER_03: So we had to move the money to another hotel, right?
- 11:41SPEAKER_03: So in between that time, I think probably like a couple months later, little did I know, we in the we threw another party in the uh in the strip club, just throwing one in the strip club.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: So we in a van, like ten people.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: Like we know it was like what the sprinter van would be back then.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: And so um all we heard shot in the back of the car, came on the side of the car, shot on the side of the car.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: Anyway, out of the ten people, the girl in the back seat, she had a bullet under her butt.
- 12:14SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: So we just think that cool.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: Although, yo, I'm I'm moving.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: Long story short, it turns out that, you know, the guy, um some kids have handed him some drugs.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: He told him that I ate him some money.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: They seen us throwing money in the shit called, and they shot out of some dry cakes.
- 12:33SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
- 12:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so at that time I was just kind of like, damn, at least go to go to Miami.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: So I drove to Ohio because that's not that far, and that's where I'm you know, that's where I'm actually from and shit.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: It took a fight for it.
- 12:49SPEAKER_03: I I ain't left since.
- 12:50SPEAKER_04: I mean, and and and and and with the attitude and the energy that you showed up to Florida, like, you know what I mean?
- 12:57SPEAKER_04: It don't it don't sound like, oh, let me just it sound like you planned it out.
- 13:00SPEAKER_04: Because when you got there, you got to like, I'm here to take over shit.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: But it wasn't that easy because I remember you were outspoken about it.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: It was always planting seeds because me and E had the conversation.
- 13:11SPEAKER_03: So, you know, I would come down to Miami and visit.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: So that's when I met like Garrett Baker, you know, et cetera, et cetera.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: You know, he was over at jam or radio station.
- 13:22SPEAKER_03: That's why I wanted to do radio like that.
- 13:24SPEAKER_03: And then um, you know, when I moved here, it wasn't easy.
- 13:28SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, just kind of like how I attacked enough.
- 13:32SPEAKER_03: It was the same way that I attacked like Freezy and the club promoter when he was, you know, uh at that part it was like at that time it was like the 400 club, like the 400 club, and it was just kind of like hey, I'm me feasie, hey, I mean, feezy, hey, I mean, feezy, hey, I mean, feasy, and then somebody finally gave me a chance, killed it.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: And so then I started kind of doing a couple clubs when I was opener.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: And so just, you know, another part of being a heavy hitter that was, you know, really great is because I wasn't, you know, on the radio at the time.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: And I was still trying to get on radio.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: It was always on the way there and whoa.
- 14:05SPEAKER_03: So turns out Jill Strader had moved down from New York and enough me Jill.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: And Jill was like, you know, you always get that thing, like if you move to other places or go to other places and they know you're heavy, they'd be like, Well, you're aviator, so you can't be bad, right?
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: So they're like, so they're like, that's that's literally a lot, like, oh, you have can't be a bad DJ, but you know, you know, enough new Jill, they spoke, put in the word, and then that's when I started on my first radio gig at the at the pop station down here.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: And then uh Jill moved over to 99 jams and I came over 99 jams and forward to now.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: Jill's at the beat, and I switched from jams over to the beat.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: So I mean it's it's always been consistency, though.
- 14:51SPEAKER_03: Nobody wanted to let me in the same consistency it was with becoming the habitator was the same consistency it was getting in the club, but it was like they were so used to it here.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: I wasn't used to this.
- 15:03SPEAKER_03: Like I wasn't used to them big clubs, I wasn't even used to like when you and Camelo and all y'all doing clubs like seven days a week, it was like shit, we had Saturday on the So it was like just coming to see it.
- 15:16SPEAKER_03: I didn't understand it, but I wanted it.
- 15:20SPEAKER_05: And so shit, and I went out there and I how how hard was it getting in getting in in Miami?
- 15:26SPEAKER_05: Like, how long did it take for you to like feel like you were actually cracking ground over it?
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: The the effects back then was a little different than now.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: So I I I tell you it was war literally, mentally and physically.
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: So you know, most if if if I didn't have a verbal altercation with every DJ and I am it'd be damn sure I had a physical one.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: Because I mean it's it's just the land of land, like when you coming into people's space and that's how they eat and that's how they make money, they don't want to let you in.
- 16:01SPEAKER_03: So you know, I mean, and then I I had some some allies, which you know um effect was a real big ally for me when I first moved down here in the beginning.
- 16:13SPEAKER_03: Um Breasio was a good ally in the beginning.
- 16:17SPEAKER_03: They introduced me to some people, but you know, you could they can only just in any business, the intro can only go so far, you gotta go do it.
- 16:24SPEAKER_04: Sir, so but I always say that the way you was moving, but like, because I remember your posts and even short combos that you I would hear you, like you were really like, yo, man, they they they don't want me here.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: They don't want me here.
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: So I got that the wolf of uh what was it?
- 16:40SPEAKER_04: The wolf of um South Beach, right?
- 16:41SPEAKER_04: That's where I came from.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: But I mean they made a whole they had a it's corny now, it was corny then, but they made like they made like a whole DJ crew of all the South Beach bullies, and it was like, yo, if you're not from Miami, we're gonna run you out of Miami.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I remember that, bro.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: They they had uh a record label here that had a uh that had a group of DJs, and they all brought me in, was like, you gonna be a strong armed DJ?
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: And I was like, Alright, I'll take the meeting, like we're gonna hang out.
- 17:13SPEAKER_03: See, they're talking about all the DJs, bashed me and beat me up going verbally on the conference calls, and then people saying I was undercutting people when I was actually charging more of them because I knew what they were getting paid.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: And one of my friends was the actual promoter over there, so it was a challenge.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: I mean, which in those challenges with some of those people bled over to, you know, some heavier shit, which you know, we all got over and kind of moved in a different direction.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: And it turns out me and him work at the same radio station together now.
- 17:43SPEAKER_04: That was crazy.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: And then and then um I see that you've always had a good connection with the um you're always doing the Grammys.
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: Oh, you're always there, and you've been there enough times.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: Well, it was enough's fault.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: It was BT Wars.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: It was enough's fault.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: But you still have that relation to this day, which I think is pretty dope.
- 18:04SPEAKER_04: Oh shit's my fault, Bugs.
- 18:06SPEAKER_03: It's it's it's enough fault.
- 18:08SPEAKER_03: So what happened was, and just now looking back, not even now looking back at it, but just looking at it back at it in general, I will never forget this, bro.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: We are I'm in I'm in Louisville.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: We gone out to LA for the BTR.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: It's probably my first time at the BDT Award.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: So enough is DJing.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: I watch his face.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: He didn't even think I had any of that.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: He's DJing the Roosevelt Hotel.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: BT Awards.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: DJing.
- 18:38SPEAKER_03: He like, yo, you want to get on?
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: What?
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: Hell yeah, I want to get on.
- 18:45SPEAKER_05: The infamous, right?
- 18:46SPEAKER_05: Right, Cast one, the infamous, you want to get on.
- 18:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I know what that I know what that means.
- 18:50SPEAKER_05: That means enough, enough is about to go get a break and cut a rug and get a drink.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Never you ain't gonna find him.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Coming back.
- 19:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but for me, I ain't never DJ no BT Award, no big shit like that.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, hell yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: Like, yes, I'm DJing, but you know, that moment right there, I think that was probably 2008.
- 19:13SPEAKER_03: I've been doing the BET Awards after party well over a decade after that.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: I think we just stopped like the last few years, but that's what sparked that.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: And I met a lot of people at that moment, and even the people that were working there at the time, they just kind of heard me playing and they just kept giving me gigs.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: So, I mean, and then we graduated to the brand.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: So that's what I love that.
- 19:37SPEAKER_05: And then um, go ahead, Cash.
- 19:38SPEAKER_05: No, I was gonna say, so then, you know, now going back to Miami, somehow the connection happened with you and Cash Money.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: When you started moving out of the DJ space, which I don't know if you're still in that space, man.
- 19:50SPEAKER_05: I know you are because you do your A and R shit.
- 19:53SPEAKER_05: But like, how did that progression happen?
- 19:55SPEAKER_05: Like, where did that come from?
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: You want the whole story from when we met to the AR shit now, or you wanna break it up.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: Okay, we gotta get we gotta we gotta get the story.
- 20:05SPEAKER_05: Well, give us the cliff, give us the cliff notes, give us the cliff notes.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: Nah, we got time.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: Strong cliffs.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, I mean it's it's it's gonna be short.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: So uh y'all remember when Wayne was in jail.
- 20:15SPEAKER_03: So Wayne was in jail, and I would I didn't have no DJ gigs at the time, and I was just trying to get on because if I wasn't working in the club, I was like, shit, well, yo, look, I met Cortez, and Cortez is Wayne's manager at the time, and I was like, yo, um, when Wayne got out of jail, I want a DJ for him.
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: He was like, all right, we'll figure it out.
- 20:35SPEAKER_03: I'm like, cool.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: And then MacMain used to sit on the corner at his restaurant like every day with one of the promoters, and I was like, Yo, I want to be Wayne's DJ.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: And they're like, Yeah, yeah, we'll figure it out.
- 20:46SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: And so then when he got out of jail, he had already had a DJ, so that was kind of a rap.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: But then through that, beating Cortez and Mac, that's how I met um Stunner.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: And so just kind of meeting Stunner, they started.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: Um it was around the time where they were starting like Rich Gang and like all this shit when they were bringing the rich Holman Kwan and Armor.
- 21:08SPEAKER_03: And we'll be right back.

- 21:58SPEAKER_03: And now, back to the show.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: So, you know, with in thug and I know like when they first started even London on the track.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: So I was just there.
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: And then they put together like this rich game mixtape and you know, this you know, YMC and B and just being affiliated at that point.
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: And so I was just always affiliated, but it was more like family.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: So it was like I would they would come to the clubs because Wayne was always in the club at that time.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: So it was just like the more you see people, the more you just be around them every week, especially if you got a so anyway, fast forward, we've always had the relationship.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, it was if I would have knew then what I know now would have been a different story.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: But as I learned just kind of how the music business operates and who's who in the music business, like you kind of figure out like where you can go.
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: So um I was just trying to get a job for real, for real.
- 22:52SPEAKER_03: Like I was topping there, trying to get a job at Warner, trying to get a job anywhere, just being A and R.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: And I, you know, I tried to get that done for years, probably like a decade.
- 23:03SPEAKER_03: Um but then I was at the I'm skipping a lot of years, but I was at the uh cash money reunion.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: I seen Slim and Slim was like, oh, you in town, just come through you ride with us.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: So we rode and I was like, yo.
- 23:16SPEAKER_03: I was like, man, you know, so-and-so over at Warner.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: He was like, Yeah.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: I was like, yeah, can you put in the words how get a job?
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: He just kind of looked at me like, alright, like, okay.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 23:27SPEAKER_03: But the okay was like, it made me think about it though.
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: And it was just kind of the okay that he gave me, it wasn't harsh or anything, but it was just kind of like what he said that I was saying it was like, yo, you asking me to get you to put in the world for you to get a job at another label, and I got my own label, and you moan us for so long.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: So you can come over here if you want.
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: That's that's what I read between the lines, and so it just clicked to me, and I was just like, So I went back to Florida and I sat for a second, then I hit him and I was like, Yeah, how about I just come and hope rebuild cash money?
- 24:03SPEAKER_03: Because at this point, you know, when you work that much money, you're not even paying attention to every to all the players on in the chess pieces on the playing board more to because you're they're that rich.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 24:14SPEAKER_03: And he was just like, Yo, you serious?
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: I was like, Yeah, he was like, Yeah, I'll hit you back in a couple weeks.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: A couple weeks turned into a couple months, but he hit me back and you know, you hear you right now.
- 24:26SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 24:27SPEAKER_05: That's crazy.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: That's that's I mean, but I mean, but it it it sounds like it was sort of kind of inevitable.
- 24:34SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean, being around him all this time and then little by little built up to this.
- 24:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but like, but like I said, if I knew then about the music business, what I know now, but I mean the universe just kind of moves you in spaces you're supposed to need anyway, right?
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: So it just wasn't there, even that probably even in my psyche and my brain and even how I handle business, it probably wasn't time for me to even be there in that spot at that particular moment.
- 24:58SPEAKER_03: Even if it was years ago, because you know, even then the the young money days and not like it was a long time, but just kind of the young money, rich gang days, and just everybody was on fire.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: I could have, if I would have knew then what I know now, I could have been asked, like, yo, let me get a job over here, you know, put put me on over at fucking, let me let me get a few hundred thousand over at Republican.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: Like, hello that's what may have that.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: But it just wasn't time to do that at that point, and now it's just that time.
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, hindsight is 2020, man, especially, especially in the music business.
- 25:30SPEAKER_05: You'd always look at stuff because we're we're so in the moment all the time that we it's hard for us to look forward or look back, like, oh, maybe if I do this.
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: I mean, Cash, you you was you was how many times I run into you in the office?
- 25:43SPEAKER_03: That's what I was doing, trying to find a job.
- 25:44SPEAKER_03: Then we ran into each other in the lobby.
- 25:46SPEAKER_03: That was it.
- 25:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, ain't nothing to do.
- 25:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a fact.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: That's a fact.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: And then Efizi, um, when you say rebuilding, that's where they're at right now.
- 25:57SPEAKER_03: Like, this this is this stuff there or is it or like I mean, yeah, so it's it's just kind of like, you know, the artists that are there and were there, they're just super established at this point, right?
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: So now it's just bringing in a younger crop of artists and just kind of trying to move that needle and just building because, you know, and that's another great thing about you know, working with them is just kind of like they give me a chance to build, they give me a chance to go ahead and sign who I want to sign.
- 26:27SPEAKER_03: You know, you think this is dope, okay, go ahead and sign it.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: How much is it?
- 26:30SPEAKER_03: Leave the budget, do what you need to do, and we'll make it happen.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: Unlike, you know, most of the you know, major labels where you gotta go through a lot of hoops to even to even get somebody signed.
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: It's just really me, Slim, Brian, and and Vernon, and that's pretty Brian Budner, and that's just pretty much us.
- 26:49SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: There's we you kind of run the whole shit.
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: So it's super there.
- 26:55SPEAKER_05: So and what advice would you give, you know, DJs that kind of want to move into different markets or are afraid to like take that jump?
- 27:05SPEAKER_05: Because that's not an easy jump to say.
- 27:07SPEAKER_05: You gotta think about you know how you're gonna sustain yourself or how you're gonna find work or have some sort of faith to have a leap to make a leap like that is tough.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: And you've done it over and over and over again.
- 27:18SPEAKER_05: You know what I'm saying?
- 27:22SPEAKER_05: Whatever version makes sense to you is finally.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I I would say now now that I now that I know what I know now versus what I know back then, like when, people in general just kind of understand that you are the person who builds and shapes your own reality.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: You just ask universe and lock to let you go through the path and go through that door.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: So it's just kind of like if you want to move to, I don't know, through like DC, and you feel like you're gonna move to DC, but if you're scared, then you're just gonna block that blessing.
- 27:53SPEAKER_03: So it's just gut.
- 27:54SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: Like go and then figure it out.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: And if you go, that's where you're supposed to be.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: If you're not, that's not where you're supposed to be in the first place.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: Opening you already written.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: You see what I'm saying?
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: So you can't be afraid to go ahead and make that jump and gone and make that move.
- 28:06SPEAKER_03: It if you want it, all you gotta do is really sit, think it manifested, and look will it will happen for you.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: That's that's it.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: That's what I mean by once people understand that they shape their own reality, life becomes so much easier and so much happier.
- 28:21SPEAKER_04: And and and and and I'm gonna tap in on that too.
- 28:24SPEAKER_04: I I've watched how you've um you I don't know, you've adapted to to like a I don't want to say slower, but like a take it easier life in the last five, six years.
- 28:34SPEAKER_04: I I've seen you do that.
- 28:35SPEAKER_04: And I gotta commend you, I mean, because it's like the guy who was all over the streets in in Florida now is a guy who's like, yeah, man, you gotta eat this shit because they got too much shit in it.
- 28:45SPEAKER_04: Don't do that.
- 28:46SPEAKER_04: Let's go yoga, like that's fire, bro.
- 28:48SPEAKER_04: I commend you.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we we and and the crazy shit is I'm I'm really about to map that out.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: So, like, people I'm gonna go back and kind of show what I did to get my journey to get to this space, and then we all gonna take a trip together on the internet to just kind of get to different spaces.
- 29:06SPEAKER_03: So that's gonna kind of be my next content space.
- 29:10SPEAKER_03: Because I just I mean, as y'all know, I got into some shit.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: And it cost me a lot of money.
- 29:19SPEAKER_03: Um, but you know, now looking back at it, even though, you know, I hate that it happened, but it was just supposed to be the way it could support you be, so I can make it to this point.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: But I spaz on the motherfuckers from the minute.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: Like, don't I know you will.
- 29:31SPEAKER_03: Don't get me on Zen.
- 29:32SPEAKER_06: I know you will, my nigga.
- 29:34SPEAKER_06: I know you will.
- 29:35SPEAKER_06: I want to know the first time your memory, anything with DJing, anything.
- 29:40SPEAKER_06: I don't care if it's like some you saw somebody DJ.
- 29:44SPEAKER_06: Like, what made what made you fall in love with being a DJ?
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: Me, shit.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: One of my first tapes was Chevrolet, DJ Integrator.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: He had that song on there, and I was like, shit, I just used to buy tapes all the time.
- 30:00SPEAKER_03: And uh I used to just buy a lot of mixtapes.
- 30:05SPEAKER_03: And then I just asked my mom one day.
- 30:07SPEAKER_03: This is at a time where like, you know, the album would come out first and then the video.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I would sit and I would pick the video, I'd be like, oh, this song gonna have a video to it.
- 30:16SPEAKER_03: I used to be really good at that.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: At a moment to find time, I'm like, oh shit, I want to get some turntables.
- 30:21SPEAKER_03: And you know, I got some turntables, I was probably about 14, about 14 years old.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: And my birthday's in November, so my mom would go, yo, this is gonna be your birthday and your Christmas present.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: Like, that's it.
- 30:33SPEAKER_03: And shit, we um we opened up a teen club um right around the corner from where I lived at.
- 30:41SPEAKER_03: That was popping, which and then how I met enough is the same way how I got on the radio in in Cleveland.
- 30:49SPEAKER_03: I was sitting in the mall, some people was passing out flyers, and I was like, yo, what y'all doing over there?
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: It was like, oh, we a street team.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: I was like, what is a street team?
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: They told me what a street team was and what the radio station was, and that's how I got on radio.
- 31:02SPEAKER_06: That's for sure.
- 31:03SPEAKER_06: We love that.
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: So he chucked locked the first morning.
- 31:07SPEAKER_03: Shit, I I I ain't stopped since.
- 31:11SPEAKER_05: Damn.
- 31:12SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 31:12SPEAKER_05: That's that's exactly the vibe.
- 31:14SPEAKER_03: I still can't I still can't stop now.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: It's hard.
- 31:16SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: But why would you?
- 31:18SPEAKER_04: But why would you?
- 31:18SPEAKER_04: Like, was what what would lead you to be like, you know what, I think I should stop.
- 31:22SPEAKER_04: It seems that whatever was there for you to do has been lining up correctly for you.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: It has, but you know, just now we're talking like ongoing up out of the podcast, even though we sell the podcast, but it's just I'm at that point, and I know Eve's been there where it just kind of like the the money and DJ, I I seen it a long time ago.
- 31:42SPEAKER_03: That's what made me pivot, but it was like the money and DJing at the same for what it used to be, so I gotta make a pivot, right?
- 31:48SPEAKER_03: And then now that the pivot is made, it's like I don't have to DJ anymore.
- 31:53SPEAKER_03: And while I was DJing, like I would never like, but I would never get mad at people on the flyer.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Like I would never get jealous.
- 32:00SPEAKER_03: Now I'm just kind of like, why am I not on that flyer?
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: Because I'm like, but I asked for this, you know what I'm saying?
- 32:05SPEAKER_03: And it's just kind of like you don't have to do it.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Now it's like you want to do it, and I think some people, and you know, you get in your own head, you're like, yo, people don't think I DJ no more, like like what's going on?
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: Like, but I mean it it's hard when you've done something for 30 something plus years, and then it then it's been your whole entire life, like your whole entire identity, and then it's just like switch.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: And it's just like, I'm over here now.
- 32:32SPEAKER_03: I need to put 100% over here.
- 32:33SPEAKER_03: But shit, this is always still what I love to do.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: And you know, being in this music space, you gotta have one foot in and one foot out.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: Meaning on the AR side, gotta have and you you was in it before we even babies and diapers think about it on the AR shit.
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: Like, what what got you in the AR position is being outside in the streets and being a DJ.
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: That's what separates you from the people who ain't really outside and the people who just want to be corporate niggas getting checks.
- 33:01SPEAKER_06: You know how I got you know how I got my job, do being an AR?
- 33:04SPEAKER_06: I'll tell you.
- 33:05SPEAKER_06: So high 97 back in the days used to be across the street from the old Def Cham.
- 33:11SPEAKER_06: Like maybe down the block.
- 33:12SPEAKER_06: You know where SOBs is at?
- 33:14SPEAKER_06: Used to be down the block from like around there.
- 33:16SPEAKER_06: And I was having lunch one day with Kevin Liles, right?
- 33:19SPEAKER_06: And I was peeping what Kevin Liles was doing to me.
- 33:23SPEAKER_06: He was like, he was always picking my brain at lunch, playing music.
- 33:27SPEAKER_06: You know, there's a new method man, there's a new red man.
- 33:30SPEAKER_06: What do you think?
- 33:30SPEAKER_06: What do you think?
- 33:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, every time.
- 33:32SPEAKER_06: What you think, what you think?
- 33:33SPEAKER_06: So I just blacked on him and say, Yo, my man, stop fucking around.
- 33:36SPEAKER_06: This give me a job, hire me.
- 33:38SPEAKER_06: Because you you always want to know what's in this brain of mine.
- 33:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 33:42SPEAKER_06: And that's how I was talking, just like that.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: And it and it's so crazy too, because a lot of not a lot, but uh a few, if not most, ARs I ran into have been DJing before.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Like even I was just why I was uh like even when I met Wendy Rolstein for the first time, like she said it to me.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: She was like, Oh, I used to DJ, you just got like whatever.
- 34:09SPEAKER_03: But when I actually, you know, went and seen her interview, I was like, oh shit, you was really in this for real since like the 70s in disco.
- 34:17SPEAKER_03: Like you DJed DJ.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she was really down.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: You know, she she signed the the biggest shit and created a lot of the biggest shit that has to do with hip hop and RB today.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: So, you know, there's there are DJs in that space, you know, that no longer pick up turntables, but you know, being a DJ, you're always gonna have that year.
- 34:37SPEAKER_05: Facts.
- 34:38SPEAKER_05: That's it.
- 34:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and and then like you said, making that pivot in that space is is super hard, right?
- 34:44SPEAKER_05: Like, do you still DJ at all?
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: Like on your like do any do you DJ at all like on your own time?
- 34:49SPEAKER_05: You're like, oh, let me turn this on and let me see if I still got it.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: My my pre my practice is actually me doing my radio show because they pre-recorded.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: That's my practice.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: And then like I just kind of pick and choose like where I want to go.
- 35:03SPEAKER_03: Like, where are the places across the country that I like to go?
- 35:07SPEAKER_03: And I love to go to Houston and I love that party at Chapman and Kirby.
- 35:10SPEAKER_03: So I'll go over there and I DJ that because that's what I love to do.
- 35:13SPEAKER_03: I don't have to go to a city or go down the street to DJ because my life depends on it.
- 35:20SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 35:20SPEAKER_06: Like me, I like DJ parties I want to be at.
- 35:24SPEAKER_06: And I want to be at parties I'm celebrating.
- 35:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and I want to be like this is my thing about my being me.
- 35:31SPEAKER_06: Listen, let me tell you me being the OG, I always never wanted to be the old man at the bar.
- 35:39SPEAKER_06: Always hear this story, right?
- 35:41SPEAKER_06: Like, why is that old man at the bar by himself?
- 35:44SPEAKER_06: There's mad young people in here.
- 35:45SPEAKER_06: Why is that old man in the corner by himself drinking, trying to pick up young girls?
- 35:50SPEAKER_06: To me, that's a creep.
- 35:53SPEAKER_06: So that's when I stopped doing college parties.
- 35:56SPEAKER_06: That's when I stopped doing team parties because I said I'm too old to be doing them shit.
- 36:00SPEAKER_06: Because these kids could be my grandkids.
- 36:03SPEAKER_06: So that's just for me, as of you know, that that's called that's called ethical experience.
- 36:09SPEAKER_06: It's not it's not that I don't want to DJ to party.
- 36:12SPEAKER_06: I just think it's fonder for me to just be in my own space, stay in my lane, and be celebrated.
- 36:18SPEAKER_06: That's it.
- 36:18SPEAKER_03: That's all I need.
- 36:26SPEAKER_03: They just kind of stay within their range, which is still fun for them.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: So it's like you know, doing the Essence festivals and doing the RB party grant, and that's just but you get to a certain age where and that's just kind of where I'm in now.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: It's like, yeah, I'll walk into a club.
- 36:44SPEAKER_03: You might not necessarily think I am the age that I am, but you know I'm a little bit older, and then I know all of y'all are just way younger than me, and it starts to feel weird, you know what I mean?
- 36:54SPEAKER_03: Like it starts to be like, uh yeah.
- 36:57SPEAKER_03: And sometimes you want to DJ those little, like I try to go, I like I'll go into a little hood spot to see if I still got my hood shit.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: I'll go into a little young spot.
- 37:06SPEAKER_03: Just to get it off, right?
- 37:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, see if I still got some old shit.
- 37:10SPEAKER_03: But you know, sometimes you walk in there, you be like, Man, these motherfuckers is horrible.
- 37:15SPEAKER_03: We used to be that age on Tuesday.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 37:21SPEAKER_06: Don't be like that, don't be like that, Feasy.
- 37:24SPEAKER_06: Let them be, bro.
- 37:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we just talking facts.
- 37:26SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we just talking facts.
- 37:27SPEAKER_06: We're not judging nobody.
- 37:28SPEAKER_04: No, no, but I told I totally get it because it gets to a point that when they start throwing a certain gig at you, you go, Do I need that or do I want it?
- 37:36SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 37:36SPEAKER_04: Like me, I prefer going on the stage and doing a concert than going to host a club, you know what I mean?
- 37:42SPEAKER_04: Because I think on the concert, it's like that energy is so different.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: And then the club makes you work so fucking hard, you know what I'm saying?
- 37:50SPEAKER_04: So I kind of understand exactly what you what it is.
- 37:53SPEAKER_04: It's like, like, you know, if you're like, I won't go over there because the way they clap over there is way better than the way they clap over here, you know what I'm saying?
- 37:59SPEAKER_04: So I totally understand that.
- 38:01SPEAKER_06: You gotta be real to yourself, you gotta be real yourself and still enjoy the craft.
- 38:06SPEAKER_06: I still love the shit out of the music.
- 38:09SPEAKER_06: I never put an age on that.
- 38:11SPEAKER_04: But but like, I'll I'll say something that JC and Wild told me years ago, years ago, when he decided to like, you know, I'm gonna stop doing parties and I'm gonna, he literally said to me, He was like, bro, I had to stop doing this shit because I needed to stop letting the way I feed my kids depend on what else somebody else.
- 38:26SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 38:27SPEAKER_04: So like when you start depending on the promoter to survive, you gotta check yourself a thousand percent.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Hey yo, Elba, look, dogs, I tell you, so I'm in, I'm in the club in Miami, right?
- 38:39SPEAKER_03: So I'm DJing.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: So me and one of the promoters, we get into it.
- 38:44SPEAKER_03: We about to fight.
- 38:45SPEAKER_03: We get into it.
- 38:46SPEAKER_03: So then I think next day, two days later, I called up the club owner and was like, yeah, no, no, the club owner called me and was like, hey, I think you need to talk with so-and-so-and-so.
- 38:59SPEAKER_03: So we can just go ahead and kind of get this fixed, whatever.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: So he called so-and-so-and-so.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: So-and-so picked up the phone and said, Man, I don't want to talk to this nigga.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: Then the owner said, and I'll never forget this, the owner said, Well, looks like you don't need to come in tonight.
- 39:19SPEAKER_03: And at that point, and at that point I said, yo, I can't let another motherfucker determine the money that I'm making.
- 39:26SPEAKER_03: And that's when I start, that's when I started going out of town.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: That's when you started seeing me out of town and doing different states and all that shit.
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: Cause I'm like, oh no, I can't have nobody to, and I think at the time aura was just being born.
- 39:36SPEAKER_03: I'm like, yo, like, I can't have nobody dictate, especially in no case for promoters, but I can't a promoter and nobody dictate like when my check is gonna come in like that.
- 39:46SPEAKER_03: You can tell me I'm not going to work.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Fuck all that.
- 39:49SPEAKER_03: So to piggyback off of what you were saying.
- 39:54SPEAKER_04: No, because it's true, because they they they interpret it completely the wrong way.
- 39:58SPEAKER_04: They interpret it like you think you this, you think you're like, nah, man, I'm just making better decisions.
- 40:02SPEAKER_04: Because like you can go from working five nights a week and be like, I could miss those five, because I'm gonna go get these two gigs, and it's gonna make up for all those nights in one bag.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: And that's what I learned.
- 40:14SPEAKER_04: I learned like, yo, I could stay away from the club and go do a gig for three days and come back happy as fuck.
- 40:21SPEAKER_04: And I rested, the stress level was different, and you actually get to do some shit you wanna do, not that you have to.
- 40:27SPEAKER_04: Do you know what I'm saying?
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: So what's next?
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: What's next for E Feasy?
- 40:30SPEAKER_03: I mean, shit, at this point, uh, you know, we we're gonna get this cash money thing done.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: Um Been doing that, but also just kind of been heavy in the distribution part.
- 40:43SPEAKER_03: So um we put together this distribution company.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: I joined this distribution company.
- 40:48SPEAKER_03: It's called Street S-C-R-N.
- 40:51SPEAKER_03: So I mean we got some really um dope technology that we've been doing on the distro side.
- 40:56SPEAKER_03: We've been having some some really, really big meetings.
- 41:00SPEAKER_03: Um some of my heavier brothers out I brought I'm bringing over, like Taja's gonna come over and do some distro look at it.
- 41:07SPEAKER_03: So it's just a different kind of space.
- 41:09SPEAKER_03: So, you know that space, and then she will figure it out from there.
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: After that, I might be trying to move on to something else with this shit.
- 41:18SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: Nah, man, keep keep doing that.
- 41:23SPEAKER_04: Cause well, me and I know us, we always clapping for you, and at the same time, we always like, what the fuck fee gonna do next?
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: And then when you do it, be like, Bet, that's some Feezy shit right there.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, but it's just kind of be like, man, I look, I look at the board and I look at everybody.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm saying?
- 41:38SPEAKER_03: Like, I look at Cass, I look at books, like even me and you, books, I'm like, hold on, you got some Apple shit?
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one.
- 41:47SPEAKER_03: Oh, E.
- 41:49SPEAKER_03: That's what you doing now?
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: Okay, blah, blah, blah.
- 41:51SPEAKER_03: Oh, cast one.
- 41:53SPEAKER_03: I'm running to you in the lobby over at Sony Build.
- 41:56SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 41:57SPEAKER_03: These okay, all right, what you gonna do?
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: And you always, you always get, and I always look at everybody before me, like Enough, Woods, Camelo, Khaled, uh Ivory, uh Clinton Sparks, they all have some things that made them a lot of money.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: And the crazy thing is, is we have these connections to the streets.
- 42:24SPEAKER_03: Some the connections that we got to the people that we know is something that these big companies pay for, and they pay a lot of money for this.
- 42:33SPEAKER_04: They pay for access.
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: They pay for access.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: How can we create something?
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: Now I'm just talking shit, but it's like, how can we create something to like Clinton Sparks did with what was it, Clinton Sparks?
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: They had the video game shit.
- 42:46SPEAKER_04: That was a while ago, though.
- 42:48SPEAKER_03: Right, it was a while ago.
- 42:50SPEAKER_03: Like, all right, well, you can bring two chains to a video game event.
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: And niggas was like, what?
- 42:55SPEAKER_03: But it was still something that had access that made him a lot of money.
- 42:58SPEAKER_04: 100%.
- 42:59SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:00SPEAKER_03: Like I read with his, you know, his foundation and being a part of the heat, and he does his foundation.
- 43:05SPEAKER_03: He might DJ maybe eight or nine times a year, and that's if he wants to, right?
- 43:13SPEAKER_03: And you know, same with with with Khaled.
- 43:15SPEAKER_03: Khaled don't DJ no more, but shit.
- 43:17SPEAKER_03: I remember once upon a time when he was DJing.
- 43:19SPEAKER_03: You know what I'm saying?
- 43:20SPEAKER_03: I was kind of looking like, okay, what are y'all doing?
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: There is something that is like this Google, like an engine, which is DJing, can get you to explore more options as food as you press enter, if that makes sense.
- 43:36SPEAKER_03: So that's just kind of where I do that.
- 43:38SPEAKER_03: So I don't know that, man.
- 43:41SPEAKER_04: Well, there it is, y'all.
- 43:42SPEAKER_04: Our guy, E Fezy, entrepreneur, DJ, and all producer, more, more, more family man, all of that.
