- 0:09>> Matt, you're going to be so proud of me. >> Okay, I'm prepared to >> not hung over.
- 0:15>> Hey, look at you. Are you drunk? >> I'm not drunk yet. >> Okay, >> this is my third.
- 0:21>> Third VB. >> My third VB. a VB is is pretty light for
- 0:28you, so that's fine. >> Yeah. So, well, it's I sort of looked at
- 0:32my I'm saving up for packs cuz pack is like a month away. >> Oh, yeah.
- 0:38>> And I looked at how much money I spent last week >> on booze. >> On booze. [laughter]
- 0:45Oh my god. See, my problem is is as I said, drinking by myself, quiet Luke, go
- 0:50home. When I'm out and around people, the best way to start up a conversation
- 0:55is to buy drinks. >> Fair. Yeah. >> And because I remember like when I was
- 1:00young and I felt like going out and no one else wanted to go out, you'd go to
- 1:03the Century Tavern. >> Okay. Yeah. Okay. >> George Street. >> Yeah.
- 1:07>> Like all drinks were three bucks. No matter what you were drinking,
- 1:11>> you walk up to a table of random people that looked nice. You go, I'll buy a
- 1:15round of drinks. 20 bucks. You got friends for the night.
- 1:18>> That's uh that's [clears throat] where we met. Dear Braum and Delta Goodram.
- 1:23>> Yep. [laughter] >> I didn't buy him drinks. >> But yeah, now rounds of drinks are not
- 1:30that much. No, not under $20. >> Now they are. Or but back then they were.
- 1:36>> Back then they're under $20. Now they are not. Now
- 1:40>> two drinks is over $20. So when you're buying >> lots it's Yeah. So I'm not doing that
- 1:45anymore. >> Yeah. Yeah. The fancy beer that that we
- 1:50get here is expensive, I got to say. Uh I don't I remember the days when beer
- 1:56was like a couple bucks for a sconer back in the day. We didn't have pints
- 1:59back in back in Penri, but >> I remember going to Happy Hours and getting like $2 spirits.
- 2:06>> Yeah. Or $3 jugs. >> Yeah. >> Like the >> Now a pint of beer cost me $12.
- 2:12>> Swamp bar. $3 jugs, right? >> A swamp bar. I used to love that. Never
- 2:17went to uni, but used to be there every Thursday night for jolly jugs.
- 2:20>> I did go to uni. Not that uni. [laughter] >> I didn't go to any uni, but I was always
- 2:26there. They had some good bands there every now and again. >> Yeah, swamp was sick.
- 2:30>> Remember seeing the Mavises there once. >> Name rings a bell.
- 2:36>> Nav's Nicris. You would remember. >> Oh, yeah. I know. Nicris. Yeah. >> Yeah.
- 2:42>> Yeah. Yeah. So, what's been happening? Uh, other than you not drinking as much,
- 2:47>> I have follow-up news. >> Go on. I'm excited. >> Last week, we spoke about how Xbox has
- 2:54now done this stupid >> price uh hours
- 3:00thing for Game Pass for streaming. So, like, but at the top level, the most you
- 3:05can pay, you get 15 hours a month, which is nothing. >> Yes. >> Doesn't affect me.
- 3:10>> Why? They emailed me and went, "No, Luke, you're good." >> Just just you
- 3:16>> just me and some other people have been getting emails as well. So, it's not
- 3:20quite clear if it's we've just been grandfathered in or
- 3:24>> they ask you to for who to who to grandfather in telling me.
- 3:28>> They didn't they didn't ask. >> I don't know. Maybe it's the fact I
- 3:31don't use it. Maybe it's the fact I just give them a lot of money.
- 3:36>> I'm not using it. So, maybe >> you're an insider, right? Is that the insiders program?
- 3:39>> Insider. But no. There's just a lot of people who have
- 3:44been getting the emails and no one can really work out what it is.
- 3:48>> Oh, all right. Interesting. >> So, the emails appear to be live in
- 3:53countries like Australia, Brazil, Poland, and Germany.
- 3:57So, it could be consumer laws. >> Some existing subscribers in select
- 4:02regions are now receiving emails saying the news the news the new cap doesn't
- 4:06apply to them. Right. And you got this email. >> I got that email.
- 4:10There you go. Oh, should you cancel and repurchase? >> Yes. >> I wonder if
- 4:17>> I wonder if I hadn't cancelled for six months, I would have got
- 4:20>> Yeah, maybe you just sort of >> Oh, six months and you miss out now for something.
- 4:27>> Might have been more than six months. Yeah. No, I mean I don't whatever. >> Yeah.
- 4:32>> I um >> I can >> I really used it. It's just the I thought my I just think the numbers
- 4:39don't make sense. >> They don't. >> I don't I don't use it. But yeah.
- 4:43>> No, I just Yeah. Why? Cuz that >> Yeah. The people who are giving you the
- 4:48most amount of money 15 hours, which is it's nothing. It should be at least 50.
- 4:53>> Well, as you can say, like you're paying you get a 100 hours a month with GeForce.
- 4:58>> Yeah. >> And that spending is probably less money. >> Yeah. It is. It is less. Yeah.
- 5:04>> Yeah. because it's what $200 a year for that and it's like 20 something dollars
- 5:09a month and you can't actually buy a year subscription. So yeah, it's definitely >> Yeah.
- 5:15Yeah. Very strange. Okay. And so Okay. So you don't have the restriction, but
- 5:20you also don't use it. So >> No. >> So it's it's useless to me
- 5:25>> cuz you have an actual portable Xbox. >> Yes. >> So you don't need the cloud.
- 5:31>> No. >> All right. Well, some technically, I guess this is
- 5:35also followup, so I'll pop it up here. >> Nintendo,
- 5:39>> we talked about how um Nintendo and Microsoft and Sony
- 5:46all got tariff refunds. >> Yes. >> And weren't going to give anybody any of the money.
- 5:51>> A bit of a middle finger to everyone. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it depends on
- 5:55>> not really, but they're going, >> you agreed to pay that price. Yeah.
- 5:59>> You thought it was okay. You thought it was a great price.
- 6:02>> Yeah. you wanted the games or the whatever the hardware you paid for it
- 6:07that's the transaction is complete and
- 6:10uh so I think in a very interesting move
- 6:14>> Nintendo have announced a customer appreciation sale now they do have
- 6:20customer appreciation day every year as far as I'm aware so this is actually not
- 6:25that unusual >> per se >> except they actually say in the copy for
- 6:30this that it this is because they got the tariff refund. They're now able to
- 6:35give everybody a discount and so they're having a sale and it's if you look on
- 6:41Reddit, people are like, "What? This is your way of squirming out of that?"
- 6:47Like, "Oh, we got the money back, so you can all give us more money." >> Yeah.
- 6:52>> In a sale. Like a little bit less money, but you'll give us more money. It's not
- 6:57like it's a like they're saying 30% off of off the selected titles we selected.
- 7:02Not not the new stuff that we're going to >> No. And it's probably I mean I haven't
- 7:07It goes It goes live today here. I haven't looked. I'm assuming it's not
- 7:12going to be new games. It's going to be I mean this is just
- 7:14>> this just [laughter] a sale. They do this all the time like >> Yeah.
- 7:19>> Yeah. I don't think there's anything particularly
- 7:21>> as far as I'm aware. Hang on. Let me look at it. All right. Is it up live
- 7:24now? It probably is. um shop
- 7:28>> sales and deals. >> See, the Nintendo shop is
- 7:34>> Oh, it's atrocious. But like I doubt you're going to be pre-ordering Yakarina
- 7:38of Time with a 30% discount. >> No. And or like my daughter is super
- 7:43into the new We got the demo of the new Yoshi game, Yoshi and the Mysterious
- 7:48Book. Uh okay. >> I doubt that's on sale. >> No.
- 7:52>> Because it's too new. So, like I don't know. It's just a weird move is
- 7:59to to >> I don't know. I don't think a sale is like what everybody was thinking when
- 8:05they said, >> you know, could we >> also is giving it back to the people who
- 8:10paid the tariff either. This is just >> No. Like we're having a sale.
- 8:17>> Yes. >> Give us more money. >> Yep. [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. It's it's a weird one
- 8:22>> cuz Oh. It would make sense if like hey we're going to do this but it's only for
- 8:27people who purchase during this period on the store and we because they can
- 8:31they do know that who purchased during that period of digital store and they
- 8:34could do it this is for you. >> It's also interesting because it's very
- 8:38n not very Nintendo to even discuss this
- 8:43>> to say you know to to admit that this has got anything to do with business.
- 8:47You know what I mean? Like they don't talk about that stuff usually. It's
- 8:51Yeah. It's out of character. Very strange. >> So yeah, it's a way of saying thank you
- 8:56to the team plays for their continued support and is made possible in part by
- 9:00the tariff related refunds. >> Yeah. Yeah. That sentence is very unusual for them.
- 9:06>> Yeah. >> Because why would you even put that in there? >> Like init criticism.
- 9:12>> But they're also going the next line. While Nintendo absorbed most tariff
- 9:16related costs, the refunds help make promotions like this one possible. So
- 9:20they're also saying like we we took the big bullet even though we charged you more.
- 9:25>> I mean maybe that's true. Maybe I I don't know.
- 9:28>> Maybe they did. I don't know what the price difference was at that time.
- 9:33>> Yeah, it's How bad were tariffs
- 9:38Nintendo? Let's see if this those that combination of words. Uh they got 30
- 9:45million in tariff refunds. >> That's not a lot.
- 9:49>> No. And then I guess what um >> didn't Sony and Xbox they got a lot
- 9:54more, didn't they? >> Probably. But they
- 10:01>> they raised hardware and accessory prices during the tariff period, making
- 10:05consoles and peripherals $30 to $50 more expensive. The original Switch increased
- 10:10by $30 to $50. Accessories, controllers, and peripherals increased by 5 to 10.
- 10:15Switch 2 launched at $4.49, 49 then later adjusted to $499.
- 10:20Uh okay. So not games or anything. >> They got a $30 million refund from uh
- 10:26from my my government over here. And uh instead of direct cash refunds,
- 10:32Nintendo has launched a 30% off customer appreciation sale. But it's not 30% off
- 10:36everything. >> No, 30% off some things. In saying that,
- 10:40what they up like even the $30 to $50 they put on the hardware that may have
- 10:46also been taking into account just the fact it's costing them more as well.
- 10:49Maybe they did eat a lot more of it than >> I mean that's possible. That's possible.
- 10:54>> Yeah, maybe. >> I don't know. It's just a very unusual
- 10:59uh way to >> I don't know. Seems like a bad idea. They should have just said nothing.
- 11:05>> Yeah. [laughter] >> Just said no, we're not doing anything.
- 11:08Coincidentally, here's a sale. Just don't don't link the two because it just
- 11:12invites criticism. >> Okay. So,
- 11:18said Yeah. Yeah. So, Sony is was expecting to
- 11:23get half a billion dollars back. Bloody hell.
- 11:29So, I think Sony and Play and Microsoft I think passed on the cost a lot more than what
- 11:35>> Nintendo did. Sony and Microsoft both do more than just
- 11:41their consoles. So like I think as companies it's very different, right?
- 11:45Nintendo just does, >> correct me if I'm wrong, >> basically just does the Switch right
- 11:52now. >> Yeah. >> And you know, and older stuff as well,
- 11:55whereas, you know, Microsoft does all sorts of [ __ ] stuff. They've got
- 11:59laptops, they've got, you know, um, >> not phones anymore, but they've got like
- 12:05tablets and they've got all sorts of going on. And Sony as well. Sony's got
- 12:10>> like tons of consumer hardware, DVD players, TVs, and [ __ ]
- 12:15>> So, I guess kind of different. >> Yeah. Okay. Well,
- 12:21>> unless we're just talking about Xbox and PlayStation. >> Yeah. I don't know.
- 12:25>> But I don't think so. I think so. I think it's probably the whole company.
- 12:29I don't know because the article I'm looking at now is talking about just a
- 12:32PlayStation. I don't know. Who knows? >> Yeah. Anyway, just a just a very strange
- 12:37move from Nintendo. Very non Nintendo move to >> Yes.
- 12:40>> to just to even mention the fact that it was to do with the tariffs and it's a
- 12:44bit of a weird one. >> But [snorts] have a look. You might get Yoshi for cheaper.
- 12:48>> But yeah, there is a sale on so, >> you know, have it check it out. Know you
- 12:53can bargain on something. >> I do like my Switch. The Yoshi game is
- 12:57great, by the way. [snorts] >> It's It's very different to um It's just
- 13:02very different, which is I like about you. Basically, you play as a Yoshi. You
- 13:06can pick the color. >> There's a lot of Yoshi. I assume Yoshi's plural.
- 13:11>> Yeah. Yoshi's plur plural. >> Yeah. So, there's a bunch of them. You
- 13:15find a book and the book uh is magic
- 13:20>> and there's like um but there's like
- 13:24scenarios in the book and you can go in and there's like creatures in there
- 13:29>> and you go in and try to learn things about them by interacting with them. And
- 13:33so it's like a little platforming thing where you like for example the very
- 13:36first thing is these little flower things >> and then like you try to figure out are
- 13:40they plants? What are they? Uh what can they do? And so you walk around, you can
- 13:44pick them up and then you, you know, Yoshi eats things. >> Yes.
- 13:48>> So you have to figure out like what do they taste like? Um what happens when
- 13:52they get dirty? What happens when they get wet? What happens if you plant one
- 13:55in the ground? What happen? And so you just kind of I don't know, go around
- 13:58this level, do stuff like you can pick them up like you you ground pound them
- 14:03and then you they go in the ground and then they sprout and it goes, "Okay, so
- 14:06they sprout when they're planted." You kind of like discover all these things
- 14:09about these. It's >> pretty fun. and [ __ ] weird.
- 14:15>> I'm guessing it's for younger people. >> I don't know, man. It's pretty
- 14:19>> I'm having fun. >> But I am Look, >> Nintendo I they walk that line pretty well.
- 14:25>> They do. And they they may have just brought pulled me back in.
- 14:30>> Oh, interesting. Why what have they done? Ocarina of Time. >> Ocarina of Time.
- 14:35>> That looks amazing. And that's that was an amazing game to play back in the day.
- 14:39>> That trailer if you haven't. So, they've announced a remake, a full remake
- 14:44>> of Ocarina of Time. They've done this sort of before. They released it on 3DS,
- 14:49but it was >> the same as the old one. Just >> But this is like they revamped the
- 14:53camera like it's >> like the people did comparison videos
- 14:58and it's almost like a joke cuz the old one just looks so bad now compared to to
- 15:04this. This thing looks [ __ ] incredible. >> I'm sure it the old one looks nothing
- 15:09like I remember it does. It looks bad, man. To the like as in
- 15:15like I don't because it's very early um 3D.
- 15:21>> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Like it looks a lot worse than it does in your memory for sure.
- 15:26>> Yeah. >> Because at the time it looked great. >> Yeah. Because that was the best.
- 15:33>> Not even at the time. I I played it on my 3DS like wasn't that long ago, like
- 15:3810 years ago. And uh >> I think even just because if I was to
- 15:44try and replay that now, there's no way I would with the way it was with just a
- 15:47camera. Just changing the camera just game changer.
- 15:52>> Well, you don't have to because now it looks [ __ ] incredible. Uh and that
- 15:56comes out in November, I think.
- 16:01And then uh they also announced uh a new Metroid sidescroller,
- 16:08Metroid Ravenous. And I played, what was the last Metroid Sidescroller? Oops,
- 16:13it's playing a trailer in my head. Phones. Um, Metroid Sidescroller. What
- 16:18was the last one? It was [ __ ] excellent. Dread. Metroid Dread. That
- 16:22was a really good game. >> I don't have the patience for these anymore.
- 16:27>> What do you mean? >> The learning new stuff, going backwards and forwards.
- 16:32>> It's good though, is it? >> Don't have time. I don't know what this logo on my mug
- 16:39is. Maybe I shouldn't be advertising whatever this is. What is this?
- 16:47>> Oh, pet healthc care innovation. Fine. [laughter] >> You're okay with pet health?
- 16:52>> Yeah, [clears throat] >> must be from a convention Jenna went to.
- 16:57Anyway, um Ocarine of Time remake, Metroid, Ravenous. Some good stuff
- 17:02coming out on the Switch. >> Switch two, I should say. You don't have a Switch 2, do you?
- 17:07>> I don't have a Yeah, I don't have a Switch. I've only got the original
- 17:09Switch. How much is a Switch Two? I >> think Switch Two is good.
- 17:14>> People are already selling the
- 17:19on eBay already selling the Switch Twos with the Zelda one for a fortune. >> Oh,
- 17:26>> scalpers. >> Oh, yeah. Right. >> 800 bucks. >> Oh, they're 500 here, but
- 17:32>> No, sorry. Yeah, 800. 800. H. >> Oh, this one I can get for a dollar off
- 17:38everywhere else. >> Ooh, bargain. >> Yeah, I can't justify it.
- 17:45[clears throat] >> No. >> No. >> I'm going to be spending Oh, would that
- 17:51come in the game though? >> Cuz it's Zelda 40th anniversary edition.
- 17:58But >> Oh, that one doesn't. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that does, doesn't it?
- 18:02>> I don't know. If it came with the game, then that's a maybe. I highly doubt it, though,
- 18:09because an actual Nintendo Switch console is just $770. So, yeah, there's
- 18:15no way that comes with the game. >> Mine came with Mario Kart, which is
- 18:19good. The new Mario Kart is very good. >> Play that with LRA all the time.
- 18:23>> That's the new sort of open world type of thing now, isn't it? >> Yes. >> Yeah.
- 18:29>> Yeah. Sort of. There's an open world mode where you can just drive around. Yeah,
- 18:34>> but you do also race, >> but you go so you choose like it's got
- 18:38all the tracks on the world map >> and so you can choose just the the
- 18:42tracks and then you can also do
- 18:46a race from one track to another track. >> So you can say I want to So you say I
- 18:51want to race on the rainbow road or I want to race on the rainbow road to
- 18:55Bowser's Castle. Oh, actually they've got to be somewhat closer. Yeah. So that
- 18:59would work, but you know what I'm getting at. >> Yeah. Yeah. [snorts] Or you can just go
- 19:03into open world mode where you just drive around the whole world. >> I am looking at this
- 19:09Legend of Zelda Switch and it does look nice. >> The new one. >> Yeah.
- 19:14>> Yeah. Yeah. It looks [ __ ] incredible. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> No. >> Yes.
- 19:20>> I'll be good. >> No. >> No. [laughter] Um,
- 19:26if you want to play an old game that they just keep re-releasing, which is
- 19:30also on Switch 2, >> Skyrim. >> Skyrim. Have you seen this new DLC for
- 19:36Skyrim? I can't believe this. >> Oh, yes. This is ridiculous.
- 19:41>> So, Microsoft did a deal with IKEA to make
- 19:46some furniture. Now they've gone one step further
- 19:50and IKEA has made DLC for Skyrim,
- 19:54>> but has the voice of Matt Perry. >> It is a Callax shelf
- 20:01that is a companion in Skyrim. It's It follows you around based on the trailer
- 20:07and it's voiced by, as you said, voiced by Matt Barry. >> Yep.
- 20:10>> And uh it carries your stuff. >> Yes. And it's not just the companion.
- 20:16And it has its own quests. >> Yeah.
- 20:19>> So, and the once you download it, the way to um start the quest is actually
- 20:26just to become over encumbered. >> All right. >> Then that sort of leads you to having to
- 20:32get this shelf. >> I [ __ ] love this. [laughter]
- 20:36This is so weird, but incredible. >> I kind of want to give it a go. But I've
- 20:42not done any mods on Skyrim before, but this one >> have.
- 20:49>> I think I just need to with this one. >> Does Skyrim Switch have mods? I'm going
- 20:53to assume not. Switch? >> I don't think so. >> Can you add mods to Skyrim on Switch?
- 20:59>> So, I'm pretty sure this is only on PC and Xbox. >> Yeah, only jailbreak. Yeah,
- 21:04>> I've got it on Xbox. It's fine. Yeah, I'd like to check this out. Yeah, this
- 21:08just looks super funny >> because Yeah, >> and I don't think it'll be a long quest
- 21:15either, so I don't think you need to commit. >> Yeah, but Skyrim kind of draws you in.
- 21:21>> But then you just end up doing the same thing every time. Crouching with a bow
- 21:25and arrow. >> Yes. Yeah. The goal >> what you plan to do. I'm going to give
- 21:30you one head. I'm going to be a mage. You did a stealth arrow.
- 21:35>> I'm not going to fast travel. I'm going to walk it. No, >> you will fast travel.
- 21:38>> Yes, >> that will get [ __ ] old real quick. >> Very quick.
- 21:43>> Don't have time for that. >> Yeah. No, this is great. Uh I I thought
- 21:47it was a joke at first, but no, it is real. It is a IKEA DLC.
- 21:52>> It does seem like the type of thing that would come out like as a April Fool's
- 21:57Day type of thing. >> Yes. Yeah. And I mean, I know they're
- 22:02still selling Skyrim, but when did Skyrim come out? Like >> 2011.
- 22:07Yeah, [ __ ] hell. They need to make that They need to get
- 22:11that new game finished. [laughter]
- 22:16Oh, look at this. Is Skyrim 6 coming out? No, Skyrim 6 is not coming out.
- 22:20It's The Elder Scrolls. [laughter] >> Skyrim is just Skyrim. >> Yes.
- 22:27>> Cuz it's been so long since we've had an Elder Scrolls game. Everyone just thinks
- 22:31it's Skyrim 6. >> Yeah. Everyone just thinks Skyrim 1,
- 22:34two, three, four, five, and six. Yeah. Not Morowind and Oblivion and
- 22:40>> Dagger Fall. >> Yeah. Uh Sony's [clears throat] in trouble
- 22:47apparently. I saw an article the other day that said Sony's in trouble.
- 22:51PlayStation's in trouble. They're having a lot of issues. They've got these
- 22:54people getting mad at them about discs and stuff, which I mean they should be
- 22:59mad at the other companies, too, but the other companies aren't drawing attention
- 23:01to it. Like, what are you doing? Doubling down on it. [ __ ] talking about it. [laughter]
- 23:07>> Just keep your mouth shut. Just >> Yeah, it's the same everywhere else.
- 23:12They're just not trying to [ __ ] rub it in everyone's face.
- 23:15>> Well, I think even what Microsoft has done the sort of opposite at the moment.
- 23:18They're going, "Well, for now, cuz the next one's probably not going to come
- 23:22with a disc drive, and they're not talking about that, but they're saying
- 23:25all your stuff, you can move it to your library now." >> Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:28>> On your disc drives. >> Yeah. Digital. >> Yes. >> Digital version. >> Fix to digital.
- 23:35Dicks to digital. >> Yep. >> I'm going to digitize my dick.
- 23:40[snorts] That's the the title of this episode. Dicks to
- 23:43>> go to get us [ __ ] banned on Spotify or something. >> Um
- 23:50so the other problem that they've got is apparently that the um the Wolverine
- 23:54game came out and it's just mid and everyone's [ __ ] pissed off about the
- 23:59fact that it's it's perfectly fine game. It's just fine. It's just fine. Like,
- 24:05it's not bad, but >> Yeah. No, but people are furious that it's just fine.
- 24:10Like, okay. Yeah. I mean, it's sitting at 78% on Metacritic, which is just
- 24:17>> That's okay. That's >> It's fine. Yeah, but it's not allowed to
- 24:20be just fine, Luke. It's got to be [laughter] the best game ever. Everyone
- 24:23was like hyped as [ __ ] for this. >> I'm kind of happy about this
- 24:28>> cuz it's PlayStation exclusive. >> I don't have to be jealous anymore. Yeah,
- 24:32>> because I'm still jealous about like the Spider-Man games.
- 24:35>> Yeah. Well, so that's the thing. I think that's the problem is that the
- 24:37Spider-Man games were reviewed extremely well. Everyone loved
- 24:42them and everyone was like, "PlayStation is the best. They've got all the best
- 24:45exclusives." And then this Wolverine game came out and then there was that
- 24:48weird thing where wasn't there a trailer they showed for Wolverine and everyone
- 24:51was like, "Looks a bit shit." >> Oh yeah. >> People got mad about it and then now
- 24:55it's come out and everyone's like, "Oh, it's it's all right." And then Yeah.
- 25:00Apparently, that's worse than it being really good or really bad.
- 25:05>> It's just a solid action adventure. I don't want a solid action adventure.
- 25:11[sighs] >> Oh, well.
- 25:14>> Yeah. So, this the the the buzz is PlayStation's dead [laughter]
- 25:20>> cuz they made it back. >> One game >> cuz one game was just >> okay.
- 25:25>> It was just good. [laughter] >> It was just good. Like,
- 25:29>> yeah. When did it come out? >> Just the other [laughter] day.
- 25:34>> It's not even out yet. >> Oh, isn't it? It's just the reviews are out. Okay. >> Yeah.
- 25:39>> Yeah. >> I don't know, man. I say I saw this article that said like PlayStation's got
- 25:44to [ __ ] figure this out. They >> Yeah, it comes out on the 15th. Why are
- 25:49they trusting reviewers? >> Well, I mean, that's all that's all they
- 25:55know this at this point. But why is why why is everybody getting
- 26:00so worked up about this? >> So like it's a game. >> It's a game.
- 26:05>> It's good. Apparently it's good. Isn't that what you want? >> Enjoy it. >> Yeah.
- 26:08>> And what a good game. That's all I'm looking for. >> I find it really weird. Like
- 26:14>> there are games that I mean to be fair, I don't I don't finish a lot of games,
- 26:17but like that Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws, right? That was good. I played
- 26:21it. I liked it. Like >> Yeah. It got pretty bad reviews, didn't it?
- 26:26>> Yes. especially at the start. It did get better when they started releasing DLC, but
- 26:30>> yeah, there might be a factor as well. But I guess my point is just that like
- 26:34just try it for yourself and see maybe maybe you will love it.
- 26:38>> Don't go off what everyone else says. Like >> I've never understood that.
- 26:43>> There are plenty of games and movies and TV shows that everyone thought was [ __ ]
- 26:47that I [ __ ] love. I [ __ ] loved Cyberpunk when it first came out and
- 26:52everyone was complaining about that. Like I thought it was great. So, >> see, I think
- 26:55>> give it a chance. >> Like your the your least favorite game
- 26:59could be someone else's favorite game. Like that's just how it works. So, >> absolutely
- 27:05>> try games other people love. Like what's [ __ ] a lot of games these days. I'm
- 27:10just have no interest in. Like I tried Elden Ring. Can't do it. People love that game.
- 27:14>> Oh, >> I just can't do it. Like >> no. I don't want to sit there and have
- 27:18to die 20 times to a a monster till I learn how it fights. That's just
- 27:24>> and it's and and people, oh yeah, it's just too hard. Well, that's fine, but I
- 27:29don't enjoy it. >> No, >> I don't enjoy games like that. So, like
- 27:33I feel like the argument that like, oh, you're just not good at it. No, no, no.
- 27:37It doesn't matter. Even if I was good at it, I don't enjoy it. Like, I'm I could
- 27:41get good, I suppose. >> I don't like that genre. I don't like
- 27:44that genre of game at all. It's not for me. You know a game that came out of
- 27:47nowhere that people are saying it's quite good. >> Mhm. >> Star Wars Zero Company.
- 27:52>> Oh yeah, I've seen that. People doing great reviews. I've started playing it
- 27:56and I'm enjoying it. >> Yeah, right. It's got It's about clones and I don't like that.
- 28:01>> Yeah. And it was >> That's not my Star Wars. >> When I first saw it, I was going, "No,
- 28:05not for me." And then no, I played it and I No, I like this. >> I watched Star Wars.
- 28:10>> You did? >> I did. I watched Star Wars with my daughter.
- 28:14>> Which one? What do you mean? Which one? >> Oh, Star Wars. >> Yeah, we watch Star Wars.
- 28:19>> Yeah. >> What does she think? >> She likes it. She hasn't seen all of it yet.
- 28:24>> It is. She So, she's uh you know, she's used to TV shows that are 10 minutes
- 28:30long or whatever. And she's watched some movies. We w and and Star Wars is old
- 28:33and it's not paced like a modern movie.
- 28:36>> We watched all the way up to um where basically they get escape the Death
- 28:43Stars are. Okay. >> And they're on Yavan 4 and >> and now that that's essentially a good
- 28:48stopping point cuz that's where it turns into another movie type.
- 28:52>> Yeah. So they're they're discussing how to attack the Death Star. And then we
- 28:55will we'll watch the rest of that. But she Yeah, she's super into it. She likes
- 28:58you know she knows who Darth Vader is. She knows Obi-Wan died but he
- 29:03disappeared. And she was like what what happened there? And I was like wow
- 29:07you'll have to wait and see but I think you'll find he became one with the
- 29:10force. And she and she's like what's the force? And I'm like, "This is great. [laughter]
- 29:15>> Let me tell you all about it." >> Are you going to take her with you to go
- 29:19see Star Wars at the movies where we get to see the original?
- 29:23>> Yeah, maybe if she wants to. Yeah, she likes going to the movies.
- 29:27>> Cuz I'm surprised that they're actually doing it. >> What people saw in the 70s.
- 29:34>> So, well, they've been telling us for how long that it's impossible. >> Yes.
- 29:39>> And uh Yeah. >> Well, mainly George Yeah. When is that happening?
- 29:44>> Um, I think it's for May next year. It's before Star Fighter.
- 29:49>> No, re-release. No, I looked up Star Wars release 1977. Yeah. Yeah, I know
- 29:55that. February 19, 2027, 50th anniversary.
- 30:01>> Yep. I will be watching that. >> Yes,
- 30:07we've just announced that as well. >> That'll be cool. [snorts]
- 30:11or is it >> I was thinking about it too before we watched it. Um I was like what's in it
- 30:18that might bother her? Basically just the arm cut off was the only thing I could think of.
- 30:24>> Yeah, that that's sort of it >> didn't bother her. She didn't even
- 30:28question it. So all right, fine. >> We're in. >> Yep. And the dying ogre didn't bother
- 30:33her. I thought that might be a bit scary. >> No. >> And that's Yeah, that's it for that
- 30:39movie. Um, Empire got the wamper. >> Yeah, she uh Oh, and the tonton getting cut open.
- 30:45>> Yeah, >> like a bit gruesome. But um the only thing at the start of it when the you
- 30:51know the Empire attacks the the Corvette the what's it called? You know the name
- 30:57of it? Tentive 4. Um >> 4. Yep.
- 31:02>> The they're shooting each other. >> Yes. >> People die. And she goes, "Oh, okay.
- 31:09they're dead. And we were like, "Oh, >> yeah. >> Yeah. I guess that doesn't happen in
- 31:13stuff you watch very much." Yeah. >> Yeah. And she was like, "Okay."
- 31:18[snorts and clears throat] >> Okay, fair enough. >> Yeah.
- 31:20>> She's going to be serial killer, >> maybe. Yeah.
- 31:25>> Yeah. She liked it. And uh what else did she ask me about? Oh, yeah. Like the
- 31:28force when um Obi-Wan these are not the droids you're looking for. She was like
- 31:33interesting. Like [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Yes. Yeah, >> finally.
- 31:39>> I was like, "Oh, that's cool." She can tell something's going on there. >> Yeah.
- 31:44>> She's like, "How how do you how did he do that? Why are they saying what he's
- 31:47saying?" Like, "Oh, it's the force." >> No, it's a blood disease. [laughter]
- 31:55>> He's got an infection. >> Yes. [laughter] >> Yeah.
- 32:01Um Bruce Campbell. We talked about Bruce Campbell recently. Yes. I think we said
- 32:07that he said he's not going to do Ash anymore. Um, that's probably something
- 32:13to do with the fact that we knew he had cancer a little while ago and he said he
- 32:18was doing all right. However, he has said now he's been told he's got about
- 32:23five years left, >> which is rough, man. >> That's a long time.
- 32:30>> It is and it isn't like >> Yeah, it's sort of weird.
- 32:33I don't know if I'd want if I'd prefer like a you got three months or five years.
- 32:38>> Yeah, that's a tough one. >> Yeah, it's like okay, let's like long
- 32:43enough that you could do some stuff like you get plenty of stuff done but it's
- 32:47still like it's not that long. >> Um cuz he said yeah it was treatable
- 32:53>> um but incurable. So >> yeah. Well, I don't quite get that. Like
- 32:57it's treatable, but you've got five years and you got to
- 33:02>> Well, I guess they can manage it for for >> Yeah. >> Yeah.
- 33:06So, that's a that's a bummer. Like Yeah. I mean, it is what it is, I suppose, but
- 33:11he said it's like uh he said it's whack-a-ole literally. Uh it compromises
- 33:15your body. So, you have to go deal with that and then you deal with it and you
- 33:19deal with it again and again and then eventually, you know, >> your body just Yeah,
- 33:24>> that'll be it. Which is fair. Uh yeah, but I like Bruce >> Kelly
- 33:30doesn't have too much pain and stuff. >> Exactly. Exactly.
- 33:35>> Well, you're not g a week yet, but you will be, Bruce. You will be
- 33:39>> almost inevitable that he will be. >> Yeah. >> When when it happens, I mean, look, I
- 33:44hope he's I hope he has more than five years. I hope they I hope he does as
- 33:47well. In the meantime, they figure out a cure and he lives forever. But, you know,
- 33:50>> start planning now. If you die the same week as Bruce, you're not getting geek.
- 33:53I'm just putting that out there. where that is going to be a problem. >> Yeah.
- 34:00Um Apple, >> can we do Apple real quick? Um real quick.
- 34:06>> I know this won't interest you too much, but um >> the price nearly killed me.
- 34:11>> Well, you won't be buying one. >> I won't be buying one, but Oh my god,
- 34:15what are they thinking? >> Apple have announced a foldy phone. >> Yes.
- 34:19>> Which we all knew they were going to. It's not
- 34:22>> these days. It's like they even did in the presentation they um Turnis is the
- 34:27new CEO of Apple. He's taken over officially now. So he did this presentation
- 34:32>> and they did the old Oh, and there's one more thing which is Steve Jobs old thing
- 34:36from when he announced the iPhone. But the difference is when Steve Jobs did it back then
- 34:40>> it was >> nobody had any [ __ ] idea >> that it existed and it was just a huge
- 34:46massive surprise >> and it was something new. it was um
- 34:51whereas now I mean this is new for Apple >> for Apple but also is pretty old now
- 34:57>> also the the [ __ ] exact dimensions of this thing have been known for months
- 35:01now because in the modern day Apple can't keep things a secret because just
- 35:07you know they've got suppliers in other countries who are just like selling
- 35:12>> you know the the [ __ ] mold and stuff to people so it's like
- 35:15>> it's not Yeah saying oh there's one more thing everyone's like oh yeah
- 35:18>> it does doesn't it? Yeah. So, it's a foldy phone. It's the iPhone Duo is the
- 35:22name, which I think is a reasonable name. They do pretty stupid things with
- 35:26names sometimes. That's a reasonable name. It's got two screens.
- 35:28>> Oh, two screens. Sure. Fine. >> Yeah.
- 35:31>> Uh I'm honestly looking at it, I'm I'm
- 35:36shocked by how different it is just because the iPhone, even though they've
- 35:42now got different sizes and stuff, has kind of been consistent. like it's same
- 35:48same ship but with a different size and everything works the same. This is very different.
- 35:52>> So I don't know if you've used an iPhone you know you know you've got the
- 35:56indicators at the top and then there's like a little dock at the bottom where
- 35:59the stuff doesn't move. It's probably I'm assuming Android's mostly similar
- 36:02although Android's interfaces have could be quite different across
- 36:05>> Yeah. depending on who you go with all [snorts] Yeah.
- 36:09>> The iPhone's always been very consistent just different sizes.
- 36:13>> Uh but this is very different. the the dock is on the side. The icons, the
- 36:18indicators are completely different. Like the the instead of the little Wi-Fi
- 36:22logo and the 3G logo, it's combined into one little thing where it's got a ring
- 36:27that shows Wi-Fi level and inside shows. >> I'm looking I'm looking at it like yes,
- 36:33it's a fold, but it looks like it folds to a normal size phone. It doesn't look
- 36:37>> No, it folds like a little stubby thing, I think.
- 36:39>> Yeah, like it's a little stubby thing, and then when you fold it out, it's just
- 36:41a normal phone. >> Oh, no, it is. Yeah, it's slightly
- 36:43larger than a um than an iPhone Max Pro Max. Yeah. >> Yeah. It's just
- 36:50>> whereas I think some of the Android folds fold really big. Oh, you've got
- 36:54Have you got one? >> Oh, one >> Oh, I didn't know you had a foldy one. I can't see that.
- 36:59>> Yeah, right. I didn't know you had a foldy one. >> Then it folds out to
- 37:01>> Is it the Pixel Fold? >> Pixel fold? >> Yeah. See, that folds really big. This
- 37:05does not. Yeah. This folds to about slightly larger than a normal.
- 37:09>> Well, it's gonna cost it's going to cost double the price what that did.
- 37:14>> That's true. I think I mean I don't know for sure what the hardware difference is
- 37:20though. So that's a consideration like
- 37:24>> I I can't trust it to be >> I mean I can't see it being that different these days.
- 37:31>> I I mean I'm not going to buy this just because I I like I think this is cool.
- 37:35Um, I'm very interested. I'm not going to buy one. I never I would never buy
- 37:39the first generation of anything, >> especially not not from Apple because again,
- 37:45>> it's very different. The software is very different and so I would want to
- 37:49wait and make sure, >> you know, for example, >> sort that out first
- 37:54>> cuz the other thing that they've done here is, right, it's very different. The
- 37:57layout's different. Like the screen size is completely [ __ ] different.
- 37:59Everything's different about it, right? like reimagined iOS
- 38:02>> and they didn't tell anybody about it even though it was leaking, right? But
- 38:07if you're a iPhone app developer, this is the first time you've seen it
- 38:12and now you have some idea of what the [ __ ] you're going to have to deal with
- 38:16when this thing comes out, but you still don't have very long now to make your
- 38:22app work on this thing. And I guarantee there's going to be a lot of problems
- 38:26with apps when this thing comes out because it's completely new format.
- 38:28>> Listen to everyone else. It's complet It's like Yeah, I It's got two [ __ ]
- 38:35screens. One screen's only this big. One's [ __ ] this this. It's just like
- 38:40It's going to be a disaster for apps, I think. Yeah,
- 38:42>> maybe not a disaster, but I think there there'll be bugs and weird [ __ ]
- 38:46>> And I think a lot of apps will probably just take the easy way and just go fit
- 38:50the screen and it's going to look >> off. >> Maybe that will work, but I do think
- 38:56it's going to be weird. And I'm sure that the the first party apps, the Apple
- 39:00ones, well, they'll take care of it because they've been working on this for
- 39:04>> they've known about it, but yeah. Or the third party
- 39:07>> like they didn't even have access to the the SDK to to work on it. Like how do
- 39:12you how does the second screen work? Like no one's had access to any of this stuff. So,
- 39:17>> good luck with Candy Crush. >> Yeah, but I I mean I think it's very cool. Um
- 39:23>> I think it is, but the price is just >> I know what you mean. Yeah. and and it's
- 39:27not like it's new for Apple, but it's not new for the industry. There's a lot
- 39:31of foldy phones. >> Um, >> this one is like a premium
- 39:37foldy phone. Like there's no seam or anything like that. Noticeable. Does
- 39:40yours have a noticeable seam or anything? No, I think a lot of the new
- 39:43ones don't. I guess they the older ones had issues.
- 39:46>> Yeah, the older ones had that. Yeah, it was very But no, it's you you do you can
- 39:50sort of you do know what's there >> cuz there is always going to be a
- 39:57it's a fold. You'll always see something, but it's not like if you're
- 40:00watching a video, it's not like there's a crease or anything like a line or
- 40:04anything like that. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> The other thing that's a bit weird about
- 40:08it is they show like in the marketing material like they've got a shot from a
- 40:14silo on it, right? full full screen except the aspect ratio of it is
- 40:20>> weird like and they show videos playing on it and they've got it
- 40:26>> like I don't like like a 43 like an old CRT square shape. I'm like that's not
- 40:32how I watch movies. I watch movies with my phone sideways.
- 40:36>> Yes. cuz I like movies are widescreen and so for it to be full screen you've
- 40:40got to crop the sides because they showed a clip from what's that show with
- 40:42John Ham that everyone liked where he's the dancing at the club. You would have seen that
- 40:47>> dancing at the club. >> There's like a Apple TV show something
- 40:53family something stars John Ham and he's on Ecstasy or something and he's dancing
- 40:58at a club. Anyway, they've got a clip from it and they're playing it on the
- 41:02phone, but it's clearly cropped because you can't because the sides of the shot
- 41:07are missing. And I just think that's going to be weird for a lot of content >> because
- 41:13>> like Well, I guess that's the thing about TV and and movies these days. I guess they
- 41:19do frame things knowing people will watch them on weird devices now.
- 41:23>> Yeah, I think they do. Yeah, they probably do make it a Yeah, they do
- 41:27allow for that now because I know everyone's going to be different now.
- 41:30>> Like vertical Tik Tok videos and that kind of Well, a lot of people like to
- 41:33watch stuff vertical now, which I will never understand
- 41:35>> cuz I when I think of watching stuff, I'm thinking like old stuff like like
- 41:39Bladeunner or whatever where it's very cuz I like really wide anamorphic widescreen
- 41:46like >> stuff and I just feel like this device
- 41:50is really not suitable for that cuz it's basically a it's almost a square.
- 41:56>> Oh, your friends and neighbors. >> Your friends and neighbors. Okay. I have
- 42:00no idea what that is still. >> No, no. I I know Jenna's watched it. I
- 42:04was aware of it because I've seen that clip floating around. But anyway, I just
- 42:09I don't know this device is for me. >> You're not buying one?
- 42:13>> No, I'm not buying anything. I've got my iPhone 14 Pro Max that they just
- 42:18replaced the entire device for me >> and I'm just going to keep using it
- 42:23>> until you can try and replace it again. >> Yeah. I mean, the stuff I can't do I
- 42:27can't do the Apple intelligence stuff because I don't have a um
- 42:31do you want to >> I don't notice that I Yeah, I don't know that I do. No,
- 42:38>> like I've got Pixel Gemini on that and I never use it.
- 42:42>> I mean, I can still use, you know, chat GBT and all that stuff on there. I just can't
- 42:49use Apple's got some stuff like, you know, you write something on there and
- 42:53then you highlight you go rewrite this for me. But like
- 42:56>> I don't know that I would ever do that. >> I do actually I do do that with some of
- 42:59my messages where I go I can't be bothered fixing all the spelling mistakes.
- 43:03>> Oh, okay. Interesting. >> So I just type to the end and go fix that for me.
- 43:07>> I mean I don't think I have access to that stuff. I haven't tried but I know
- 43:11that I know there's some stuff I don't. >> Yeah. Anyway, iPhone Duo very expensive.
- 43:17It is. Let's see. iPhone Duo. How much is it in the US? Um, I'm assuming in
- 43:21Australia that's gonna sound,000. >> Okay, I think that's how much it is
- 43:27here. Um, >> oh god, I hate that. I I heard three and
- 43:31a half thousand. I thought that was how much it was here.
- 43:33>> View pricing iPhone Duo. Oh god. Okay, I can't even pre-order it yet. I don't
- 43:38know how much it is. Uh, it's going to be >> Oh,
- 43:44>> come on. They even announced the [ __ ] price.
- 43:46>> Yeah, they announced the price. Why can I not find it now?
- 43:50Oh, hold on. I've got JB Hi-Fi. >> Oh god.
- 43:55>> So JB Hi-Fi Apple iPhone 512 GB $3,900.
- 44:03>> 4 grand. >> That's for the 500. You want Oh my god. >> What?
- 44:09>> So you get the cheap one with 256 gig for three three and a half thousand. >> Mhm.
- 44:15>> You can get the half a gig for 39. the
- 44:19one terabyte for $4,700
- 44:23>> or the two terabyte for $5,900
- 44:28>> for a phone. >> So over here, 256 gig is is 2 grand,
- 44:34$1999, 512 is $21.99, 1 TB's $2599, and the 2
- 44:41TB is $3,199. So
- 44:46yeah, brutal. That's who can afford this?
- 44:53>> I mean the same >> phone >> the same people who are buying um
- 44:58what do you what do you call it the vision pro headset that doesn't do
- 45:05anything because have they abandoned that? >> I haven't heard that in a while.
- 45:09>> Yeah. >> I don't know man. I like Apple products.
- 45:14They work pretty well together, but I very reluctant to um upgrade anything at
- 45:20the moment. It just seems like there's no need. So, um I'm not going to be
- 45:25buying a new phone for a while. I was curious about Android, but I don't know.
- 45:30There's a lot of things I use. For example, my phone right now is my camera for this.
- 45:35>> Well, you don't have to get rid of it. That could just be the camera.
- 45:38>> Oh, yeah. [laughter] Good point. Good point. Yeah. I mean, this phone is fully
- 45:42paid off. I don't have a [ __ ] phone payment or anything.
- 45:46>> Well, the Pixel 11fold 1 TB's only 3,300.
- 45:51>> Okay. Australian.
- 45:55>> So, probably about 1,500 for you then. >> Yeah.
- 46:01Yeah. Well, we'll see when it comes time. But I don't think I don't think
- 46:06I'm going to need to for a while. No, it's it's just go back to the 3210. The
- 46:12Nokia. >> Yeah, >> there be a better phone. >> Nokia 5110 was my first phone.
- 46:19>> My first phone was a Motorola thing that was horrible. >> Oh, yeah.
- 46:23>> I had to carry batteries with me. >> Oh, very cool. >> No, [laughter]
- 46:27because the battery would just die and you'd have to replace it in the middle of the day.
- 46:32>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Whereas the 3210 and the 51, they they just days they would last you.
- 46:39>> Yeah. Wait, forever. >> Probably pull one out of a drawer now and it'll still turn on
- 46:44>> like a Game Boy Advance. >> Or the uh the original Nintendo DS. I've
- 46:49got one in there. I bet if I got it out now, it would still be charged.
- 46:52>> Still be charged. And you could Street Pass. >> Oh, no. That was the 3DS. Yeah, >> 3DS.
- 46:59>> God, I love the Street Pass. That was fun. >> It was good at packs and stuff. Yeah,
- 47:03>> street pass people. >> Remember the first year that came out
- 47:05and we were at packs and we're all just street passing all the time.
- 47:08>> I never got too much at packs cuz you turn it on for a second and you got your
- 47:13limit of people. >> Yeah, too many people. Yeah, it's like
- 47:1520 was the max or something or 10. >> I think it may have only been 10.
- 47:18>> Yeah, it might have been 10. Um, South Park.
- 47:23>> Sorry, what's South Park? >> Yes. Sorry. South America.
- 47:28>> South America. Yes. Yes. [laughter] >> They continue to make me laugh. They
- 47:32have changed the name of the show for the next season is now called South America in honor
- 47:38>> of President Trump. >> And then the fact we're just renaming everything to America.
- 47:44>> Well, I even like the fact they even sort of make fun of him at the same
- 47:47time, not just the changing to America. The fact that he he
- 47:53complains about not ever winning an Emmy. >> Oh, right. cuz he he he says he should
- 47:59have won an Emmy for the work he was doing. >> [ __ ] hell. >> Yeah.
- 48:04>> And they went, "Well, we got your Emmy for you." [laughter]
- 48:10>> And it's it's funny how the White House is sort of reacting and stuff like that.
- 48:13They're saying like, "No one's watching this show anymore even though this
- 48:16season was sort of their highest rated season like in the last six years and stuff."
- 48:21>> Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. It's a it's I
- 48:26say what you want about the behavior of our uh current administration. They
- 48:32certainly leave a lot of uh fodder for
- 48:35um for for people like Matt and Trey to them. Yeah,
- 48:40>> I'm interested to see this next season and I hope it's longer than last season.
- 48:44I felt last season >> I will say this >> just stopped. I do find all this stuff
- 48:50funny and I found the stuff they were doing last year funny as well, but I
- 48:53actually haven't watched the show. So may maybe they're right. Is anybody
- 48:58watching it? I guess I should should be watching it.
- 49:01>> Um I watch it every now and again if I've got the right streaming service, >> right?
- 49:06>> And then I'll do a bit of a catch up. >> I assume it's on Paramount Plus.
- 49:10>> Oh yes, definitely Paramount. I'm pretty sure. Anyway,
- 49:14>> 29 seasons. Wow. No, we were there when it first came out.
- 49:21>> Oh, is it >> different show? >> If you Google South Park, right, the
- 49:25little summary over at the side says, you know, normally it's just a summary of the show.
- 49:31>> This one says, this is the first sentence. The animated series is not for
- 49:34children. In fact, its goal seems to be to offend as many as possible as it
- 49:39presents the adventures of Stan, Kyle,
- 49:41Kenny, and Kartman. It's just a very um
- 49:46I guess >> Yeah, that's
- 49:49>> it's it's more opinionated than I would expect from a from what's supposed to be
- 49:55a >> I not getting anything like that though. >> Really?
- 50:02>> Yeah. >> Huh. When you Google South Park and it's
- 50:06got the summary at the top and it says 1997 comedy 29 seasons, you see that
- 50:10Google summary at the top? >> Yeah. Hold on. Let me just try again.
- 50:13>> And then over on the right, >> it's got the summary of it.
- 50:18>> Um, South Park is American elementary TV show created by Train Parker.
- 50:23>> Really? >> Fale friends who live in South Park. They have several bizarre misadventures
- 50:28in and around town involving both ordinary ordinary and supernatural.
- 50:33Yeah, I'm not getting any of this. >> Why am I getting this weird thing then?
- 50:38Interesting. Maybe cuz there is stuff that when I Google it and look at it,
- 50:44it's very different to what you see in America. Like if I was to, I don't know,
- 50:49look up the Gulf of Mexico. [laughter] >> What happens if I do that? Good point.
- 50:56I've swam in that. >> I For me, it is still the Gulf of Mexico
- 51:02in brackets. Gulf of America. >> This is very interesting.
- 51:08It said the heading is Gulf of America, >> but the summary says the Gulf of Mexico
- 51:14is an oceanic basin and a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean.
- 51:18>> Very confused, but it does say Gulf of America at the top.
- 51:23>> Um, Lake Ontario is Lake Ontario.
- 51:27>> I'm guessing it's not for you. [sighs]
- 51:32>> No, it's not. It's Lake America. >> No. Mhm. But the summary is Lake Ontario is one
- 51:38of the five great lakes of North America >> that I've got. Yes.
- 51:43>> And I've got a bunch of articles saying they want to change the name of the name
- 51:46of Lake Eerie to Lake What do they want to change it to? Lake Pennsylvania.
- 51:52>> I think it might be because a lot of the information is probably pulling from is
- 51:56like things like Wikipedia and stuff. Wikipedia still does Lake Ontario. What
- 52:00are you talking about? >> Very strange. Yes. Look on the [ __ ]
- 52:04map says the Gulf of America. I remember when um when this happened, I think we
- 52:09were on our way to Costa Rica and it was all happening and we flew over it. >> Yes.
- 52:14>> And I made a joke saying, "Oh, look the words. They're painting over it." [laughter]
- 52:18So, looking at the plane and then when we were in Mexico, we uh swam in it and
- 52:24I was joking like, "What the [ __ ] do I even call this? I'm in Mexico, so
- 52:29[laughter] what do I call it? Anyway,
- 52:34yeah, love that. South America. >> South South America. And I will be
- 52:39watching it when it does come out, which I think is soon as well. >> Yeah.
- 52:45>> Oh, yeah. September 16th, South America.
- 52:51>> Uh, I have been watching a show that I put off watching because it was one of
- 52:55those shows where I people too many people said it was good and I was like,
- 52:59well, then I don't care. Do you regret that now?
- 53:02>> No. Why? Don't tell me anything. I'm not all >> No, I'm just Are you enjoying it?
- 53:08>> Oh. Oh. Oh, [laughter] I thought you were going to say something about like,
- 53:12"Oh, well, you wait till it gets shit." No. >> Oh, no. No. It's It's a It's It's a nice
- 53:16show. I like it. And we're talking about Ted Lasso.
- 53:18>> We're talking about Ted Lasso. I started watching Ted Lasso. So, Jenna watched it
- 53:21and said, "I think you might actually like it." And I was like, "No, I refuse.
- 53:26Too many people like it." [laughter] And >> it's a show that's just easy for
- 53:30everyone to watch. >> It's really good. It's really funny. I
- 53:35I'm really enjoying it. I can see why it was popular. Um
- 53:39>> and I know that there's a new season currently airing. I'm not caught up yet.
- 53:43We're in season 3, so I'll catch up. I'll >> watch. Um I'm waiting for that all to be
- 53:48out. So I will watch that then. And I cuz I'm not buying Apple to everything I
- 53:52want to watch has been released for everything. >> Yeah. Yeah.
- 53:55>> So, I can watch Silo now, but I'm waiting for Ted Lasso as well.
- 53:58>> Okay. Yeah. No, look, I like Ted Lasso. I um I I don't know what I I thought I
- 54:04think I thought it was set in America and it was about an American soccer
- 54:07team. It's not, obviously. It's about an American or two Americans who go to
- 54:12England to coach >> a soccer team. >> Yep. >> And uh it's good.
- 54:17>> I just thought it came from a joke. >> Yeah. Okay. I heard that um it was just
- 54:22a character he did for >> it was a character he did and it the
- 54:25whole he was doing a thing with like soccer was coming to NBC so he was just
- 54:29playing this character that >> thought I don't know what's going on and
- 54:33>> yeah and then it turned into a television show that everyone loved
- 54:37>> I mean yeah it's good >> sad everyone was sad when it finished
- 54:40>> it's very wholesome it's well written the characters are good it's like um
- 54:45yeah I don't know it's just it's it's good >> you see what I meant like at the start
- 54:49you feel like they're sending like the owner of the club her to be a villain
- 54:54and then you realize no, she's just dealing with stuff and she's
- 54:58>> and she continues to do that. She's very motivated, but but it's kind of
- 55:02realistic in that way. Like people that's that's kind of what I like about
- 55:06it is and when I say wholesome, I mean it's like >> people have
- 55:10>> genuine understandable human >> yes >> motivations for things that are at odds
- 55:15with other people and so and there are villainous characters but it's usually
- 55:20because of relationships and things. It's not they're not just like you know
- 55:26>> have you seen Anthony Stewart head yet? >> Yes. Yes. I don't like him playing a bad
- 55:32guy. >> Uh, and and he is he's probably the most villainous character. Well, him and Oh,
- 55:38it's a spoiler, but someone else as well goes >> goes bad. >> I saw that coming.
- 55:44>> Little prick. [laughter]
- 55:49>> I like that though. I really like that. I guess it Can we do we could do
- 55:53spoilers, right? >> We could definitely do spoilers just for
- 55:55season four. We can do spoilers for the first three seasons. Well, it's the
- 55:58first two seasons technically the the the fall of Nate, right? The >> the
- 56:04>> and you could see it coming because he's he's >> he starts out he's like a meek little
- 56:11guy and everyone's picking on him, but then as soon as gets a little bit of power,
- 56:14>> little bit of power then he goes >> he just turns into a prick and
- 56:18>> and it went to his bed very quickly that he >> Yeah, that should be on him. He came up
- 56:25with these ideas and >> but the progression of it I just think
- 56:27it was really well done because it was like like yeah you can see this guy go
- 56:32from being the one who's picked on to the guy who's just being a prick to everybody.
- 56:36>> Yep. >> Like Yeah. I liked it. [clears throat] >> Yeah. And even his hair changing Yes.
- 56:43>> color and stuff. It was really >> hair changing the way he starts dressing. It's
- 56:47>> all Yeah. Or that the suit Ted bought you. It's not the suit Ted bought me
- 56:52when he gave it to me. It became my suit. It's just my suit. Let's just
- 56:54refer to it as my suit. [laughter] >> Yeah, it's good.
- 56:58>> Yeah, I'm looking season 4 cuz you know it ends after season 3 was meant to end.
- 57:03>> Yeah. Yeah. >> Well, season four starts off with him managing a women's football team.
- 57:07>> Oh, interesting. >> So, that's all I know. >> And it's got an actress in it I quite
- 57:12like. >> Who? >> I just find her amusing. I find her funny. >> Who?
- 57:17>> Well, I'm finding her name. [laughter] >> Okay. >> I forget her name.
- 57:22I don't want to look anything up just in case there's spoilers for season two.
- 57:25>> No, that's right. I will find her name. >> I like Roy as well. >> Her name is
- 57:29>> Royy's a good character. >> Where is she? >> They're all good characters.
- 57:34>> I hated Jamie. I hated Jamie. >> You hated Jamie until you learn more about him
- 57:40>> again. Well, really well done because I [ __ ] hated him and then they made me
- 57:44like him and it's like ah it's just it's really well written.
- 57:49Oh, I can't find out who she is. >> Okay. >> She's other stuff I like.
- 57:55>> It'll be a mystery. >> Yeah. >> Anyway, yeah. If there's anybody out
- 58:00there who hasn't watched Ted Lasso, >> do it. >> Just do it. Yeah. Don't Don't like me.
- 58:05Don't be stubborn like me. I was like, "No, it's too popular." I think
- 58:08>> I always tell people, "Don't listen to the reviewers. Don't People should just
- 58:12listen to me, though." >> Yeah. >> It's very rare that I'm wrong.
- 58:17>> That's good. real good. Um, something else that is apparently
- 58:24good but got canned anyway is uh Spider Noir. We talked about this already. Yes,
- 58:30>> it's been cancelled, but it also >> came out and said something as well.
- 58:34>> Uh, Nick Cage. >> Yeah, he did. I can't remember. We might
- 58:38talked about it last week, but uh the the news this week is just an update on
- 58:41that and it's won a bunch of pardon me a
- 58:44bunch of Emmys uh post humorously, which
- 58:48is a funny way to refer to it. Um yeah, we won five Emmys. Um stunt
- 58:55coordination, sound editing, single episode VFX series cinematography, and
- 59:00titled sign. So, >> so nothing about >> the story or the show or anything like
- 59:07that. It's all the sort of >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> No, but it's just it's interesting that,
- 59:11you know, it can get cancelled and be like critically acclaimed. Everybody
- 59:15likes it. Um I think it's just too [ __ ] expensive. >> Um
- 59:19>> Well, it's even like Arrested Development. Remember that? >> Yeah. Yeah.
- 59:24>> Like that was great. Everyone who watched it loved it. >> Great. >> But
- 59:29>> no one was watching it. like they couldn't get people to watch it. >> I say that, too.
- 59:34>> Um, >> everyone who'd watched it liked it, but not enough people watched it. >> Yeah.
- 59:39>> Yeah. >> And I think that's the problem. We've We've got so much to watch now. It's And
- 59:45with something like this >> and I mean, I can't talk. I'm really
- 59:49interested in this show. It's great. It's amazing. I haven't watched it.
- 59:52>> I watched I think the problem for me is I kept switching between color and not
- 59:57color. [laughter] So, >> I was playing with that too much to enjoy it, I think. >> Yeah.
- 1:00:03>> So, I only watched a bit of the first episode and went, it's not for me.
- 1:00:07>> It's a shame. >> I have started playing a new game this week. >> Have you? What?
- 1:00:14>> Dispatch. Remember we spoke about that game a while ago?
- 1:00:17>> Dispatch. Oh, yeah. The superhero one. >> Yes. >> Yeah. How is it?
- 1:00:23>> I It's like a It's a Tell Feels like a Telltale game. Like I'm really enjoying
- 1:00:27it. But it's also a bit more interactive with stuff like picking. So you play a guy whose
- 1:00:33>> job it is to send heroes to missions. >> Okay.
- 1:00:37>> And that's a lot more interactive trying to pick the right person for the right thing.
- 1:00:41>> And then there's story in between it as well. And there's nudity. [laughter]
- 1:00:47>> Okay. >> And Okay. Interesting. >> I I I think you should play Dispatch. I
- 1:00:53think you would like as well. I thought it was a visual novel and I thought it was
- 1:00:56>> it's not quite >> I thought it was like um one of those
- 1:01:01superheroes being dodgy type things you like the boys or you know there's a lot
- 1:01:07of that or what's that >> invincible whatever that one is where
- 1:01:11it's just like yeah okay superheroes being bad got it
- 1:01:13>> no I think if no it's about them they've got criminal he you're leader of Zen
- 1:01:18shift that's got like criminals who now you have to go to be good type of thing and
- 1:01:22>> but I you the thing is I think you make you like this game a bit more is it's in
- 1:01:28chapters and the chapters aren't very long. [laughter] >> Okay.
- 1:01:31>> So you can very easily sit down play a chapter that's like 20 30 minutes and
- 1:01:36there's a chunk of story and then there's a stopping point. >> Okay.
- 1:01:40>> And then so you don't have to sit down and commit to hours long. So I'm just
- 1:01:43sitting down in chunks. I'll do a chapter and then I might go >> do something else.
- 1:01:47>> Do something else. Play a different game. Then I'll come back and do a
- 1:01:49chapter. I'm playing >> my horse and me or something. Yeah, >> my horse prince.
- 1:01:56>> I have recently been playing Barbie's horse game. I forget what it's called,
- 1:02:00but there's a horse game with Barbie. >> I think my horse prince was removed from
- 1:02:04the um app store. >> Oh, >> don't know why. I'm looking.
- 1:02:11>> But yeah, there was a Barbie horse game that came to Game Pass and I was playing
- 1:02:14that for a bit. >> Yeah, right. Just for achievements, not because you're a >> Well,
- 1:02:20>> yeah. Barbie horse trails. >> Barbie horse trails.
- 1:02:24>> Yeah, I need to go back to it. I didn't get all the achievements.
- 1:02:28I got to complete a mission for Ranger Roy. >> Barbie's snail trail.
- 1:02:34>> I'm not a Barbie fan. I didn't mind the movie. >> You're a Ken fan. >> I'm a Ken fan.
- 1:02:40>> Ryan Gosling fan. >> Yeah, big Ryan Gosling fan. >> Who isn't? Honestly,
- 1:02:46>> he could have me. He knows.
- 1:02:51>> Yeah. >> Well, Ryan, if you want Luke, you'll
- 1:02:57have to come and get him in the after party cuz that's what you have to pay for that.
- 1:03:01>> Not Not for me just to >> the after party to >> Yeah, just the cover charge.
- 1:03:07>> How much is the cover charge for the after party?
- 1:03:09>> Um, it's pretty reasonable. It's only $5. You don't get anything for $5 anymore.
- 1:03:13>> That's true. And not only that, it's actually technically it's $5 for more
- 1:03:16than one entry. >> Yes. because you get the whole month. >> Yes.
- 1:03:20>> And we do this mostly every week. >> Most mostly. Mostly. There are some
- 1:03:24times where life gets in the way. >> It's uncommon, but it does happen.
- 1:03:28>> Yeah. Hey, I I was filming live from Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia.
- 1:03:34>> Nothing stops me. >> This episode was slightly late. Uh not
- 1:03:38this episode. Last week's episode was slightly late and you'll find out why in
- 1:03:41the afterparty. But um >> I'm interested. But um yeah, five bucks a month you get the
- 1:03:48afterparty. Uh we can keep talking every week. Uh for to support the show
- 1:03:53>> for $1 a month, you get the show a bit early and we appreciate you. It helps
- 1:03:56keep the lights on. And then if you sign up to the Patreon for free, you get
- 1:03:59access to the Discord where you can hop on and tell >> tell me what to do.
- 1:04:03>> Tell Luke what he has to watch and what he has to play and all that kind of
- 1:04:07stuff. And he has to do it because he said he would. >> And I have been.
- 1:04:11>> He has actually. >> Mhm. I've been very good. Even though I
- 1:04:14did stuff I didn't want to, I did it. >> That's right.
- 1:04:17>> Yep. Not that kind of stuff. Just watching movies and stuff. Okay. Don't
- 1:04:22get any funny ideas. >> I will do that type of stuff as well, though. [sighs]
- 1:04:26>> We're going to get kicked off the platform. >> But they're not paying for that. That's
- 1:04:30the free part. >> Oh, okay. All right. Maybe that's all right then. All right.
- 1:04:36>> What happens on Discord stays on Discord. That's how it goes, isn't it?
