- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:05Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I'm in the move for food KFI AM six forty
- 0:19Speaker 2: bill Handle here. It is a Friday, last hour of Friday,
- 0:23Speaker 2: which is always great fun for me because we talk
- 0:27Speaker 2: about two of my favorite topics. One is food and
- 0:31Speaker 2: the other one is me and not necessarily in that order. Either.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It's Foody Friday with Neil for half an hour and
- 0:40Speaker 2: then ask handle anything. So Neil, who hosts Yes you
- 0:44Speaker 2: do know him, hosts the Fok Report All Things Food
- 0:48Speaker 2: tomorrow from two to five, and we do Foody Friday
- 0:52Speaker 2: because he is such a foodie. Neil and I've known
- 0:54Speaker 2: each other for many many years. We have gone on
- 0:56Speaker 2: vacation together where food was a big thing. We have
- 0:59Speaker 2: gone dinners and lunches together are where food is a
- 1:02Speaker 2: big thing. Because this surprise to a lot of people
- 1:06Speaker 2: that when you go to lunch your dinner ugen food
- 1:10Speaker 2: is generally part of the.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Except today we're gonna go out. We're gonna go out
- 1:15Speaker 3: to breakfast after this, and I will have a scrambled
- 1:19Speaker 3: egg one scramble day.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yeah, scrambled softly, yes, not even hard. Okay. So we
- 1:28Speaker 2: always start with because Costco. I went to Costco two
- 1:32Speaker 2: days ago. It's only once this past week. Interesting, Hell yell, norm,
- 1:36Speaker 2: I know, So what's going on? What's the new stuff
- 1:40Speaker 2: at Costco.
- 1:41Speaker 3: There's a couple of really cool, cool things at Costco
- 1:44Speaker 3: that is catching people's eye. And I always like to
- 1:48Speaker 3: see what these these things are, what the trends are.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And what triggered this conversation today was that earlier this week,
- 1:59Speaker 3: your infant miss Sandwich in the morning was darker than
- 2:04Speaker 3: normal because it was on what I believe is the
- 2:08Speaker 3: new pretzel bagels from Costco. Oh yes, okay, so that's
- 2:12Speaker 3: one of them. Yeah, you triggered that because I hadn't
- 2:14Speaker 3: seen them.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I really enjoy those pretzel bagels because they.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Are they they're pretzels. They look great, nice and dowe
- 2:22Speaker 3: on the inside. It's just like the oil on the
- 2:24Speaker 3: outside and the.
- 2:25Speaker 2: It's just yeah, I bought that well Costco. Unfortunately, I
- 2:30Speaker 2: never thought Costco would do this. But it used to
- 2:32Speaker 2: be twelve bagels for eight ninety nine. That's two six
- 2:36Speaker 2: packs and you could mix and match plane cheese, whatever.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Now it's eight bagels for the same amount of money.
- 2:45Speaker 2: They go, whoa, that's a cut And one of the
- 2:47Speaker 2: new bagels is the pretzel bagel, which imagine a you're
- 2:52Speaker 2: when you get one of those soft pretzels like the
- 2:56Speaker 2: food kiosks at major malls. You know that wonderful pretzely
- 3:01Speaker 2: flavor and texture on the pretzels themselves. That's this bagel.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I'm going to go to Costco today because I want
- 3:09Speaker 3: to get them for the house and see what my
- 3:12Speaker 3: family thinks. I can't eat bread yet, but I want
- 3:15Speaker 3: to see how dowe it is. It's very Doughey, it
- 3:18Speaker 3: looks I think you could put a patty on there,
- 3:23Speaker 3: burger on there, easy peasy, and make yourself a pretzel burger.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very good. It's very very Yeah, they look good.
- 3:32Speaker 3: So that was another one that's been popping up on
- 3:35Speaker 3: quite a bit of different food sites and the like,
- 3:37Speaker 3: and I saw it there in person the other day.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Is the Kirkland signature waffle cone bar cake. So these
- 3:44Speaker 3: bar cakes are great. So it's like a sheet cake
- 3:48Speaker 3: cut in half lengthwise, so they're about five inches wide
- 3:54Speaker 3: and I don't know, like twelve plus inches long, and
- 4:00Speaker 3: so it's a great you know for summer or parties
- 4:04Speaker 3: and stuff like that. This one has little ice cream
- 4:06Speaker 3: cones on them and the little the sugar cones on them,
- 4:12Speaker 3: and it's just layered with different flavors and stuff, and
- 4:17Speaker 3: it's they call them the bar cakes. You can find
- 4:20Speaker 3: them in chocolate different things. This particular one is the
- 4:22Speaker 3: crunchy cone pieces on top and chocolate chocolate drizzle. They're
- 4:27Speaker 3: about nineteen bucks and then they serve around twelve people, but
- 4:31Speaker 3: that is pretty good. The Chavani pistachio chocolate creamer. Now
- 4:37Speaker 3: you like creamer, I don't use creamer.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Now I'm not a big fan. I'd rather have a
- 4:41Speaker 2: frothy either milk or almost milk, kind of sort of
- 4:45Speaker 2: air sets milk. But I'm not a big fan of creamer.
- 4:47Speaker 2: When I have to, I'll as last resort, I'll cream
- 4:50Speaker 2: use creamer.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Thank you for yours using earsets for the morning board
- 4:56Speaker 3: of the day, Yes, Texas Roadhouse. Listen to these descriptions
- 5:00Speaker 3: EXAs roadhouse honey cinnamon whipped butter spread. Come on right
- 5:06Speaker 3: and yeah, that got Anne's attention. Let's see. Oh, this
- 5:14Speaker 3: is an interesting one because I'm not crazy about marshmallow.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I like it in certain things, not in other things.
- 5:21Speaker 3: They have a signature marshmallow crispy cookie. So the combination
- 5:26Speaker 3: is it's melted marshmallow on the inside. And the whole
- 5:30Speaker 3: word on this is even if you don't like marshmallow,
- 5:34Speaker 3: the combination of the crunchy cookie with this soft center
- 5:39Speaker 3: that's kind of it's wisped throughout the cookie rather than
- 5:43Speaker 3: big bunches or something like that. And people are freaking
- 5:46Speaker 3: out about those. So those are a couple of things
- 5:50Speaker 3: that are out with Costco right now, including and this
- 5:53Speaker 3: one is the one that made me kind of chuckle,
- 5:55Speaker 3: including a new ice cream from our very own LCB
- 6:01Speaker 3: or LBC rather representative Snoop dog at Costco Snoop Dogg's Snoopsicle.
- 6:11Speaker 2: You were heard right, that's great.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah, ras they're rased out cherry lime Sherbert Snoopsicle that
- 6:19Speaker 3: you can get at your local Costco.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I happen to be a fan of their sheet cake.
- 6:24Speaker 2: When Barbara got married, she had this incredible cake. Well
- 6:30Speaker 2: actually she's an we had to give her a like
- 6:33Speaker 2: a wedding cake, and I said, tell you what, why
- 6:35Speaker 2: don't we just go to Costco and get one of
- 6:39Speaker 2: their sheet cakes. I'll even have it personalize congratulations Barbara,
- 6:45Speaker 2: and I can do that for nineteen dollars. Oh no, no,
- 6:52Speaker 2: I want a real cake. You don't have any idea
- 6:54Speaker 2: how much wedding cakes cost? Oh yeah, it is science fiction.
- 6:59Speaker 2: How much away cake can cost?
- 7:00Speaker 3: No, I will tell you the the artistic ability and
- 7:05Speaker 3: you to make those beautiful cakes and have them taste
- 7:08Speaker 3: good and all that is no easy feet But yes
- 7:12Speaker 3: they are astronomical.
- 7:14Speaker 2: What two three hundred dollars is a cheap Oh yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 2: cheap cake. Yeah, you're talking seven hundred, eight hundred and
- 7:21Speaker 2: fifteen hundred dollars for a cake. Yeah, it's a little
- 7:25Speaker 2: bit much. Yeah, the marriage was a little bit much.
- 7:30Speaker 3: The cake. The cake still lasted longer than the marriage,
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's true.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Is the cake topper in the freezer still?
- 7:37Speaker 2: No, No, I don't know what the cake topper was.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I don't remember what the cake top.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Not the topper, but the top layer.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Yeah, the top, the top piece.
- 7:45Speaker 2: No, I don't Yeah, I don't think so. I don't
- 7:48Speaker 2: know people that do that. But the other thing is,
- 7:51Speaker 2: you know, the stuffing of the cake in each other's mouths,
- 7:55Speaker 2: that sort of thing, which I think is just the
- 7:57Speaker 2: stupidest thing in the world. So in my wedding, when
- 8:00Speaker 2: I married lindsay. We didn't just you know, grab a
- 8:03Speaker 2: piece of cake and put in each other's mouth. We
- 8:05Speaker 2: actually threw entire layers of cake at each other in
- 8:08Speaker 2: the face they.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Had built they launched them at each other. All Right,
- 8:14Speaker 3: we're gonna talk about hot dogs at the beginning of
- 8:16Speaker 3: the show technique of the week. Different things due to
- 8:18Speaker 3: hot dog get the most flavor out of them, and
- 8:21Speaker 3: different combinations and types of you know.
- 8:23Speaker 2: We talk one of the things that, you know, back
- 8:26Speaker 2: to Costco just a a throwaway is I I was
- 8:31Speaker 2: devastated when Costco moved away from Hebrew National hot Dogs
- 8:37Speaker 2: because come on, I mean those are good, They're great dogs. Yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 2: I mean their best. They're the best dogs out there.
- 8:44Speaker 2: But so I wouldn't say that. But what's hard?
- 8:46Speaker 3: What what?
- 8:47Speaker 2: It depends what you do?
- 8:48Speaker 3: And I think Hoffee makes a fantastic hot dog. I
- 8:51Speaker 3: think they've got great hot dogs at well Fork. They've
- 8:56Speaker 3: got some fabulous ones there. You know, you couldn't get
- 8:59Speaker 3: go to some wonderful butchers that have some.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And then there's.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Gosh, what is that it's an old school hot dog place.
- 9:07Speaker 3: It just depends what what you know you're looking for
- 9:11Speaker 3: health wise, If you go for nutrients and things like that.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Hands down, the low fat Hebrew Nationals are some of
- 9:23Speaker 3: the best for you. And that's what we give to
- 9:26Speaker 3: Max when he wants a hot dog. That's what we
- 9:28Speaker 3: give to Max.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Okay, now we this is something we've been talking about,
- 9:33Speaker 2: and that's the new symbols that are now. For example,
- 9:36Speaker 2: what the government is doing. Best Buy used by the
- 9:40Speaker 2: recycling symbol, which I always look at to see if
- 9:43Speaker 2: they recycle. This is crazy because it's surprising how much
- 9:47Speaker 2: into recycling I am. You would not think so, it's
- 9:51Speaker 2: we should.
- 9:52Speaker 3: We should have a better system of doing it because
- 9:54Speaker 3: it is the smartest thing to do when done right.
- 9:57Speaker 3: But this is a move in another direction that I
- 10:01Speaker 3: think it is a great partner.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Okay, And that's the reuse symbol. Every time I look
- 10:06Speaker 2: at the REU symbol, I think of you.
- 10:08Speaker 3: In terms of a kidney. Yeah, well not exactly recycled,
- 10:13Speaker 3: but yes, thanks Julie. Actually it is recycled when you
- 10:16Speaker 3: think about it. Well, no, because it's not reformed.
- 10:19Speaker 2: No, it's reused. It's gently used uses j owned kidney.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Uh So this reuse symbol. Now keeping pulling, keep in
- 10:31Speaker 3: mind here in California, the laws are different than other places.
- 10:36Speaker 3: So if you're looking at the recycled symbol and you
- 10:39Speaker 3: just look at the symbol, that doesn't mean it's recyclable
- 10:42Speaker 3: in California. You have to look at the center number.
- 10:45Speaker 3: The number that's in the center of the recycling symbol.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I think one five and there's another one. I think
- 10:53Speaker 3: that you can recycle here plastic in California. But this
- 10:58Speaker 3: reuse is t teaching people how to clean and properly
- 11:03Speaker 3: reuse certain containers. And I think that's more practical in
- 11:08Speaker 3: many ways and easier to do. But someone like me
- 11:13Speaker 3: who uses three D printers and uses plastics like PLA
- 11:18Speaker 3: and the like, those things are recyclable to it a
- 11:21Speaker 3: certain extent too, So I try and find ways to
- 11:23Speaker 3: reuse those pieces. I can't reuse them currently back into
- 11:29Speaker 3: the machine easily, but I can find ways of using
- 11:33Speaker 3: that plastic to make other sculptures or things like that.
- 11:36Speaker 3: This is doing something where you can take packaging and
- 11:42Speaker 3: reuse them. So the Global Alliance to Advance Reuse has
- 11:47Speaker 3: this new symbol. It's kind of basically it's an arrow
- 11:53Speaker 3: that goes from the bottom left up and then turns
- 11:57Speaker 3: into itself almost like a circle to tell you this
- 12:02Speaker 3: is to be reused, and this is really new, you're
- 12:06Speaker 3: going to start seeing it more and more, and that
- 12:11Speaker 3: this is something to encourage you to start using it different.
- 12:15Speaker 3: When you see the reuse.
- 12:17Speaker 2: You're one of the things a supermarket. They used to
- 12:18Speaker 2: say paper plastic. Course plastic is no longer around, so
- 12:21Speaker 2: now it's just paper. But one of the things that
- 12:25Speaker 2: and they're supposed to be reusable paper this say, because
- 12:28Speaker 2: they're ten cents and they're thicker or whatever. And I
- 12:31Speaker 2: don't see a huge number of people bringing their own
- 12:35Speaker 2: really reusable I don't say. I've not seen an increase
- 12:39Speaker 2: with that, and I never reuse every time I go
- 12:45Speaker 2: do you want to bag?
- 12:46Speaker 3: I'm talking about the paper ones are the thicker plastic one.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Either way, we reuse them for things. One of the
- 12:53Speaker 3: things we will do is put recycled stuff in there,
- 12:57Speaker 3: and they'll be going to the recycled bin with everything else.
- 13:01Speaker 4: It's good, clean out the cat box. That's what I
- 13:04Speaker 4: use them for.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Gross and that's really so it's a reusable uh cat crap.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah, but you can't you can't fill them full of
- 13:12Speaker 3: cat poop and recycle them.
- 13:13Speaker 4: No, you can't recycle them. But you're using those bags again,
- 13:16Speaker 4: you're repurposing them.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I thought you could recycle what cat?
- 13:20Speaker 3: No, here's the thing you don't want. Like if you
- 13:23Speaker 3: get a pizza box, they had perturations off.
- 13:26Speaker 2: By the way, that was a joke. You understand that
- 13:28Speaker 2: recycling cat poop?
- 13:30Speaker 3: Oh okay, you meant the bag that had the cat
- 13:32Speaker 3: poop in it. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm serious. Yeah, you can't.
- 13:36Speaker 3: You take a joke, Neil, but when you do, it's true.
- 13:38Speaker 3: When you get a pizza you can. You can recycle
- 13:43Speaker 3: the part that doesn't have grease on it. So the
- 13:45Speaker 3: top usually has grease on it. You tear that at
- 13:47Speaker 3: the perforation and you can put the non greased part
- 13:51Speaker 3: into that.
- 13:51Speaker 4: I never knew that.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't want to put the grease party.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they can't use that. They just throw that away.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yep.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Also containers that have wax inside, Yeah, you can't do that.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Which is all milk cartons, right right.
- 14:02Speaker 2: All milk cartons, although they don't does have a recycle
- 14:05Speaker 2: sign on all the milk cartons.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Well, some of them possibly, but they might need special handling.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Like things like bubble wrap can be recycled, but it's
- 14:16Speaker 3: much more difficult, and it can't it doesn't go into
- 14:19Speaker 3: your recycling.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Pin from what you have to pop all the bubbles first.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you do well, just for mental health. That's when
- 14:24Speaker 2: you run out of pimples to pop. Then you go
- 14:26Speaker 2: to the bubble wrap. Okay, we're done, guys.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Another thing wait on that note, is many of your
- 14:32Speaker 3: pill bottles can be recycled. Just look at the recycling
- 14:36Speaker 3: sign on the bottom or logo and see what the
- 14:39Speaker 3: number is and check it with California law. I know
- 14:42Speaker 3: one can go in there, and I think five, but
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm not sure about the other number.
- 14:47Speaker 2: All right, So is ask candle anything? And the way
- 14:52Speaker 2: it works, as you probably know, and if you've just
- 14:54Speaker 2: tuned in and have not listened before, it's about people
- 14:57Speaker 2: calling in and asking a question of me. Neil chooses
- 15:01Speaker 2: the question. That these are recorded, and Neil chooses the question,
- 15:04Speaker 2: and I answer them, and it's all about embarrassment, usually
- 15:08Speaker 2: to me. So without further ado, I've always wondered that
- 15:11Speaker 2: what is a further ado to start.
- 15:13Speaker 3: With, it's an ado that's less close.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Okay, because it's without further ado, without an ado that is.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Close, without anything else to do. You're gonna okay, yes, phraseology,
- 15:27Speaker 3: that's all, without any further mountain dew. Yes.
- 15:31Speaker 2: You know there's certain phrases that make absolutely no friend
- 15:33Speaker 2: of sense.
- 15:34Speaker 3: You know they did it one time, maybe you know, but.
- 15:36Speaker 2: There are you know, certain phrases, for example, that are
- 15:39Speaker 2: just contradictions in terms mailbox. For example, it's.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Just no no move along.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Okay, let's move along, all right, Kuno.
- 15:50Speaker 5: They save this for ask handle anything. I'm sure someone's
- 15:54Speaker 5: asked it already, but it needs to be asked again.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Why did you get married again? You're miserable? Just you
- 16:02Speaker 5: should have just got a little apartment, a little dog
- 16:06Speaker 5: called it Fife or whatever and been.
- 16:08Speaker 6: Done with it.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's actually a very good question. Why did
- 16:13Speaker 2: I get married again? I don't know. I was running
- 16:16Speaker 2: a temperature at the time. Maybe I wasn't lucid.
- 16:19Speaker 3: You got money, you can do whatever you want.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 16:22Speaker 3: And a little dog named Fifi. Yeah, well it works
- 16:24Speaker 3: for me. Like weed are dogs? You like dogs? All
- 16:28Speaker 3: you need is a couple of dogs, and I have
- 16:30Speaker 3: a couple of dogs. But also I have a white
- 16:31Speaker 3: that goes with him. You call Amy King. What are
- 16:36Speaker 3: your cats doing amy, Oh they should do this and that?
- 16:40Speaker 3: What about your little dogs? And you could go to Disneyland?
- 16:43Speaker 2: Yeah I could. Yeah. But so the answer is, uh,
- 16:46Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe because I fell in love, is
- 16:49Speaker 2: that possible?
- 16:49Speaker 3: Oh but maybe not?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Hang on, but maybe not. When you noticed, I said maybe, Okay,
- 16:57Speaker 2: that doesn't mean I did. That just means it is posted.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I don't want to think that way. I just prefer
- 17:04Speaker 3: to think of it that you guys are roommates. You
- 17:08Speaker 3: share costs for the elevator and the snow room.
- 17:14Speaker 2: That's very funny. We get this. I did a segment
- 17:16Speaker 2: about the snow room that wealthy people are not just
- 17:20Speaker 2: gyms in the house, but out and out's snow rooms
- 17:22Speaker 2: where it's snows and it's crazy. All right, Uh cono.
- 17:27Speaker 7: I know this show is all about Bill asked Bill
- 17:29Speaker 7: a question, but I wanted to ask a netl Savedra.
- 17:32Speaker 7: Back in the eighties, did you I used to go
- 17:34Speaker 7: to the Olympic. I know you used to go to
- 17:37Speaker 7: the Olympic, but I was wondering, did you ever go
- 17:39Speaker 7: to Perkins Palace to go see any gigs?
- 17:41Speaker 2: Post place?
- 17:42Speaker 6: Ago?
- 17:43Speaker 7: Busted my shoulder at the Anti Nowhere League show. It
- 17:47Speaker 7: was a great show anyway.
- 17:49Speaker 3: But Cono, next question, that was the slim Pickens this week, Bob,
- 17:54Speaker 3: And yes I did. I've been to the Olympic. I've
- 17:56Speaker 3: been to the Cathea Grand I've been to the Sun
- 18:00Speaker 3: Valley Sportsman's Club. I've been Defenders. I've been to any
- 18:04Speaker 3: punk rock venue you can think of. The chances are
- 18:06Speaker 3: pretty good that I've been there. They brought back a
- 18:08Speaker 3: lot of memories. But yeah, we had slim Pickens this week.
- 18:12Speaker 2: That's slim Pickens. That's the guy slim Pickons, the actor.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Pikins, Pallace. The old punks are laughing at that joke.
- 18:23Speaker 2: All right, Cono, I think we have another one.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Hey, Bill. My question is, throughout your legal career, has
- 18:35Speaker 6: a judge ever admonished you, or warned you or threatened you?
- 18:40Speaker 6: And if so, what stands out in your mind the most.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Okay, how much time do we have, Cono, until the
- 18:47Speaker 2: end of the show.
- 18:48Speaker 3: You are disgraced.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I have been admonished the few times that I've been
- 18:55Speaker 2: in court. I didn't do a lot of court work.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I did to establish some laws. Yes, the court. Yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 2: the judge admonished me quite a few times. What did
- 19:04Speaker 2: you do to coming up with legal theories that made
- 19:07Speaker 2: no sense, trying to get certain laws passed that I
- 19:13Speaker 2: wanted two surrogacy laws, reproductive technology stuff, and the judge
- 19:17Speaker 2: would say, what what are what are you doing, mister handle,
- 19:20Speaker 2: This does not make any sense whatsoever?
- 19:23Speaker 3: So you got to miss a horrible way.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yeah, I've been that, and I go your honor,
- 19:27Speaker 2: You're absolutely right. Uh, there was that. I once was
- 19:32Speaker 2: admonished by the appeals court in a written statement saying
- 19:37Speaker 2: if you had dismissed my case and said, in the opinion,
- 19:43Speaker 2: if you had a real case that you want to
- 19:45Speaker 2: bring to us, we'll talk about it. But you don't,
- 19:49Speaker 2: so we won't.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you're a special kind of suck.
- 19:57Speaker 8: Oh right, Cono, Hey, good morning Bill and crew.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Hey.
- 20:02Speaker 8: Bill, was wondering if you ever had a breakdown with
- 20:07Speaker 8: your morning crew. I love how you push the limits
- 20:10Speaker 8: and sometimes when you say something that the rest of
- 20:14Speaker 8: your crew might not agree with or perhaps want to
- 20:16Speaker 8: keep their jobs, they kind of retract and there's a
- 20:18Speaker 8: little bit of radio silence.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I love those moments.
- 20:21Speaker 8: Has there ever been a breakdown?
- 20:23Speaker 3: I don't even know what a breakdown is. What do
- 20:26Speaker 3: you think he means by a breakdown. Oh, have you
- 20:28Speaker 3: ever lost it on one of us?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Not on one a you? I've lost it before, you know,
- 20:33Speaker 2: there's that famous incident. I can piss you off it
- 20:35Speaker 2: You can't know, you can't. But is anybody hate that?
- 20:39Speaker 2: What's that? That one thing I do that you used?
- 20:42Speaker 3: Logic? Yeah?
- 20:44Speaker 2: No, I've got you.
- 20:46Speaker 3: That makes you worse.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I've gotten I've gotten angry at Neil, primarily Neil because
- 20:51Speaker 2: he and I get.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Into it, but the closer we've known each other the longest.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So, and nobody's job is a jeopardy because
- 20:57Speaker 2: nobody works for me here.
- 21:00Speaker 3: All you could have any of us fired. Oh I
- 21:03Speaker 3: don't think so. Yeah, I don't think so.
- 21:10Speaker 2: They just said it's good to know, all right. Next question,
- 21:13Speaker 2: A good question.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Hi Bill, Hey man, I've listened to a whole lot
- 21:18Speaker 1: of Handle on the law, and I've been wondering lately.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Has there ever been a caller that has aggravated, irritated
- 21:27Speaker 1: you to the point where you were ready to just
- 21:32Speaker 1: hang it up? I mean, get really pissed off? You
- 21:36Speaker 1: know what I mean? Thanks? Man?
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I have plenty of times. I think
- 21:40Speaker 2: the one that got me the worst is there was
- 21:44Speaker 2: a caller who was a shill for one of the
- 21:47Speaker 2: radio guys here, and he asked me a question and
- 21:50Speaker 2: he said, so should I call this attorney? It's my phone.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I don't know what I'm doing here with that.
- 21:57Speaker 3: People don't know you do a show in the morning.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Now, I guess it must be lindsay right, yeah, no, No,
- 22:02Speaker 2: she knows I'm on the show, so I don't know
- 22:03Speaker 2: bring home bread and egg. I don't know who that is. Oh, okay,
- 22:08Speaker 2: hold on a minute. Oh he's it's one of the
- 22:12Speaker 2: salespeople that clearly doesn't know I'm on the air. Oh boy, yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 2: so where was I? Oh? So I got angry with
- 22:19Speaker 2: him because he kept on saying, uh, you know the
- 22:22Speaker 2: name of the attorney, so should I call? And I'm
- 22:24Speaker 2: answering the legal question, So should I call? And the
- 22:27Speaker 2: name of the attorney and a phone number, And every
- 22:30Speaker 2: time I tried to answer it, so therefore I should call.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And I finally said, tell you what, here's the number
- 22:36Speaker 2: to call, one eight hundred. I'm a shill and you'll
- 22:39Speaker 2: get right through. Yeah. That got me pissed off a
- 22:42Speaker 2: little bit.
- 22:42Speaker 3: So they were trying to do a commercial for someone
- 22:44Speaker 3: else on the show.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 3: The other thing is, oh, when people start teaching me
- 22:48Speaker 3: the law right when they asked me, well, under section
- 22:52Speaker 3: four HB the Civil Code, you know, what do you think?
- 22:56Speaker 2: I go, what you think? I have a civil code
- 22:58Speaker 2: in front of me. And then they start explaining it
- 23:00Speaker 2: to me, I go, what are you doing calling me?
- 23:02Speaker 2: I should be calling you? So those I get and
- 23:04Speaker 2: people who have civil rights, it's a violation of my
- 23:08Speaker 2: civil rights. So who cares about your civil rights? Shut
- 23:13Speaker 2: up already?
- 23:14Speaker 3: Oh, the judge made a decision, and I didn't agree
- 23:17Speaker 3: with the judge's decision. Oh, they want confirmation, not information.
- 23:21Speaker 3: They just want you to go, yeah, you're doing the
- 23:23Speaker 3: exact right thing right, And I won't that would annoy
- 23:25Speaker 3: me to you.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I wouldn't given confirmation. I just say, you know,
- 23:27Speaker 2: you're a moron. You really are an idiot. For those
- 23:29Speaker 2: people that have not listened to the show, I am brutal,
- 23:33Speaker 2: brutal to listeners.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I love it.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I know, and they're idiots, And I say that you're
- 23:38Speaker 2: an idiot. You know that you are a complete idiot.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And then when someone from a Filipino calls me, I
- 23:45Speaker 2: will always have them saying peelings, nothing peelings, nothing more
- 23:50Speaker 2: than peelings. Before I answer the question, I.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Appreciate that you aren't subtle with your racism.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It's true. Okay, I think we have time for one
- 24:01Speaker 2: more question.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Hello, KF I miss Amy.
- 24:05Speaker 9: I think I think it's Amy. Can you please take
- 24:08Speaker 9: mister handle aside, like after your shift and just whisper
- 24:12Speaker 9: in his ear that there is truly, I mean truly,
- 24:15Speaker 9: nothing more offensive than somebody with a mouthful of food
- 24:20Speaker 9: talking over the over the radio in all seriousness that
- 24:24Speaker 9: there is nothing more offensive and tell him to keep
- 24:29Speaker 9: doing it.
- 24:30Speaker 2: He's no, He's right, there is there is nothing more offensive,
- 24:33Speaker 2: Like the Holocaust is not as offensive as uh as
- 24:37Speaker 2: someone talking with food in their mouth.
- 24:39Speaker 3: I get that you showed him.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's right.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I think be more offensive.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I know instantly. I I do talk on the air
- 24:48Speaker 2: because and eat at the same time, because I.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Think just an actual three hour food show and don't
- 24:54Speaker 3: eat on the air as much as you do.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Oh I do I eat a lot on the air. Yeah, yeah,
- 24:58Speaker 2: and people have told me that. I'll tell you one
- 25:01Speaker 2: of my favorite eating on the air shows. What I
- 25:04Speaker 2: ate the whole hour on the air when I when
- 25:07Speaker 2: I interviewed a guy from PETA. Remember that, and you
- 25:11Speaker 2: know from you know what people for the Ethical Treatment
- 25:15Speaker 2: of Animals and use talking about vegetarianism and how animals
- 25:20Speaker 2: are treated so horribly and how beef cows and chickens
- 25:25Speaker 2: and pigs are treated and how horrible it was. I,
- 25:28Speaker 2: knowing I was going to interview him, I brought in
- 25:30Speaker 2: a bag full of whoppers from the local burger king
- 25:34Speaker 2: and I was eating the entire time that he was talking.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I was eating burgers for an hour. I was eating burgers.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Yeah that's pretty offensive. But he's right for you. Yeah,
- 25:49Speaker 2: he's right.
- 25:49Speaker 3: You know, I interviewed someone from I interviewed someone from
- 25:53Speaker 3: PETA once and they tried to tell me that lobster
- 26:00Speaker 3: screamed when you boiled it. And I said, lobster don't
- 26:03Speaker 3: have vocal cords. That's the air coming from the shell.
- 26:08Speaker 4: It does sound like a scream though.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Yeah, well, okay, so does handle's gas. But it doesn't
- 26:14Speaker 3: mean that he's screaming out of his butt sometimes.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yah.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Yeah, an analogy?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Is that a good analogy? Okay? I think we're done, guys.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Here we go again another day. Another It would have
- 26:28Speaker 2: been a dollar. But it's high heart, so.
- 26:31Speaker 3: It's for you. We get whatsever left.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and there isn't much left.
- 26:36Speaker 3: My favorite thing is when they said, hey, you guys
- 26:39Speaker 3: had a good book. You can go upstairs. All you
- 26:42Speaker 3: go upstairs, run up there and see how much change
- 26:46Speaker 3: you can find in the FMS studios couch and that's
- 26:51Speaker 3: our bonus.
- 26:52Speaker 2: Yeah pretty much. Yeah, but we are such poor, the
- 26:56Speaker 2: poor stepsisters. Now in the world of radio.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I think it's pretty great to still being radiot. Good
- 27:02Speaker 3: for you and make a living.
- 27:04Speaker 2: That's wonderful. Okay, we're done, guys. That's it. Tomorrow morning,
- 27:07Speaker 2: Handle on the law. Heather's running around here.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Are you with us tomorrow?
