- 2:33www.worldwidesportsradio.com. It has been a crazy, crazy
- 2:41weekend. My speaker, my DJing speaker.
- 2:44I, I I own a pair of EV 12 inch speakers.
- 2:47I've had them for 10 years. Usually they go down in about 7
- 2:51years. I've had it for over 10.
- 2:53I'm a sound guy, so I, I know how to work the amp this
- 2:57weekend. The sound, it'll look like the
- 2:59amp was clipping. So ladies and gentlemen, I had
- 3:01to order new speakers that cost me 25, twenty, $600.00.
- 3:06Just the bags, the ladies and gentlemen, the hold the speakers
- 3:10cost me $150.00 each every single.
- 3:13What is this like a tariff day for me?
- 3:15I everything is up in price. I can't cut it when it comes to
- 3:19this, but nevertheless, it is a hot, squirmy, disgusting, heated
- 3:26sort of day here in Long Island, New York.
- 3:28It was 96°. I can't stand this weather.
- 3:31It was a beach day. I was not surfing.
- 3:33I don't even go in the water anymore because of the God damn
- 3:36sharks. Jabba, what's up, man?
- 3:39Melvin we were, yeah, we were about 9097 and I think it felt
- 3:46about $1.14. Yeah, it's terrible.
- 3:49I I don't like this humidity. It's the one thing I hate about
- 3:52Long Island and Florida. I can never live in Florida.
- 3:55And one of the main reasons why I couldn't live in Florida is
- 3:57the humidity, and I was. Just sticky and gross.
- 4:01You know, it's funny because I, I saw somebody at Northwell
- 4:04today and I was having a conversation with somebody and
- 4:07he said he just came back from Las Vegas and he said it is like
- 4:10100° over there. But the weather over there is
- 4:12nothing like it is over here because it's dry over there and
- 4:16it's so disgusting humid over here.
- 4:19He says. I I wouldn't say I want to live
- 4:21over there. Yeah, because I felt like I was
- 4:22going to pass out in Vegas because it is really, really
- 4:25hot, he says. When you, if you dropped ice,
- 4:28just a piece of ice on the ground, automatically it will
- 4:31turn to water in like a minute. That's how hot it is over there
- 4:35in Vegas. It's absolutely disgusting out.
- 4:38And This is why I can't wait until the fall.
- 4:40I can't wait until the winter because I just every time I walk
- 4:44outside, I'm sweating. I'm in the gym, I'm watching all
- 4:47these people, you know, work out and they don't, they don't catch
- 4:50a sweat. I guess my paws or whatever they
- 4:52say. I guess I'm healthy because if
- 4:55you, if you sweat as much as I do, I do 25 to 30 push offs
- 4:59after every single set and I'm sweating up a storm.
- 5:02Guys, if if you ever gone to a gym and you lay on a bench and
- 5:06you get up, you know, the back of your head, it's just like it.
- 5:09It usually leaves like a little wet stain or something like
- 5:12that. Mine, it's soaked.
- 5:13It's absolutely soaked. I have to bring a towel.
- 5:15You just you just don't have the crease.
- 5:17You got the whole. Cheek, salt, salt, absolutely
- 5:20salt. I, it was, it's absolutely
- 5:22disgusting. You know it, It's funny because
- 5:25even the women that I'm working out next to, they're watching me
- 5:28and they see me get up and they're like, you're going to
- 5:30wipe that. That's why I got a towel over
- 5:32there. I just can't stand people.
- 5:34I can't. Why are you watching me?
- 5:36Worry about what you're doing. I can't stand when people have
- 5:39something to say about me. Anyways, we got a special guest
- 5:42in the studio, ladies and gentlemen.
- 5:44He's been a friend, he's been a colleague.
- 5:47He's been a partner of mine for many, many years.
- 5:50He started this show, Well, not this show, but he started the
- 5:53network with me, the one and only Mikey C Mike, what's up?
- 5:57What's going on, brother? How?
- 5:59Are you? I'm good.
- 5:59I see the background, I guess the Boston Celtics, which I
- 6:02can't stand. I can't stand the banners.
- 6:04I can't stand the Celtic pride. No, I don't want to get used to
- 6:09it. I, I want to stay the hell away
- 6:10from it. But yeah, Mikey sees in the
- 6:13studio tonight so I'm sure he's going to give me a little bit of
- 6:15grief. There's no, there's no Celtic
- 6:18information, there's no Celtic stories right now.
- 6:21So it's. Good.
- 6:21I mean, I'm not going to lie, I could actually sit there and
- 6:25say, you know, I think this upcoming season, they're going
- 6:28to be so bad. And they're not going to be that
- 6:30bad. And hopefully get a high draft
- 6:32pick. That's what you're wishing,
- 6:33right? That's what you're wishing.
- 6:34But I don't think that's going to happen.
- 6:35You know, not like Golden State where they messed up on Wiseman
- 6:38as the number one. Pick, well, not #2 pick.
- 6:40It was an up to pick. And he ended up being a bust
- 6:42but. Oh, you have to hold on one
- 6:44second. If if you are a Celtic fan and
- 6:47you want them to lose, it just shows you how selfish you guys
- 6:49are. No, no, no.
- 6:50I don't want them to lose. I just feel the way the roster
- 6:52is created right now. Well, you have Jaylen Brown, you
- 6:55have White. They're healthy.
- 6:56And I think obviously the Celtics are still going to have
- 6:58quality games and they're going to play quality basketball.
- 7:01They're not going to be that bad.
- 7:02If Jaylen Brown is 100% healthy, which they're saying that he is,
- 7:06I expect them to compete. I mean, did you hear the rumors
- 7:09of? Trading one of those.
- 7:11Of Ben Simmons partially signing.
- 7:13Well, that's automatic tank right there.
- 7:15I automatic. Ben Simmons, I think dude is
- 7:17good. To play basketball.
- 7:19No, but I think he's a good fit with them.
- 7:20He's athletic and they don't need him.
- 7:22Yeah, he's very athlete. Once a year.
- 7:24When Ben Simmons is an athletic basketball player, is he good?
- 7:27It remains to be seen. We've seen him.
- 7:29He's he's one of the highest paid.
- 7:31He has basketball anxiety. He barely plays I.
- 7:33Whose fault he's at his I know it's Joel Embiid.
- 7:36He's the one to ruin him and Doc Rivers.
- 7:38But I don't want to get into basketball.
- 7:40This is not a basketball show tonight, OK, we got a lot to get
- 7:43lot to get into. But before we get into the show,
- 7:45I want to I have an announcement to make and.
- 7:49It's that day. No, I'm being serious.
- 7:51It's, it's, it's a serious story.
- 7:54No, it has. This is not funny, by the way,
- 7:57Keith has not been on the show. He's been working a lot.
- 8:00He's been dealing with family stuff.
- 8:02And this weekend there was a death in his family, obviously a
- 8:06suicide. And it's a it's a sad story.
- 8:10And I, I want to give a shout out to the family Macaulay
- 8:13Kenya, and that's he's from the Rooney family, Pennsylvania,
- 8:17part of the Rooney family. He passed away over the weekend.
- 8:21A lot of sadness in the family and Keith reached out to me
- 8:25before the show and he was telling me about what happened.
- 8:28I want to talk about it on the show.
- 8:30I mean, it's not something that you you'd go out there and, and,
- 8:33and tell everybody's business. But I wanted to give a shout out
- 8:38to the Rooney family. That is a horrible, horrible
- 8:40story. My heart goes out to the family.
- 8:42My heart goes out to Keith, his brother Mike, everybody ever,
- 8:45the whole family. It's it's a horrible, horrible
- 8:47story. And, and to think that you're
- 8:50only on this earth for a certain amount of time.
- 8:52The kid was 22 years old, 22 years old and, and so much.
- 8:58And I, I, I don't want to get into the back end of what
- 9:01happened and, and the depression, but just think about
- 9:04it. You, you see all these kids, all
- 9:05these people young and old committing suicide over, you
- 9:10know, obviously things that are going on in their life.
- 9:13I mean, obviously brain trauma and all the different stuff that
- 9:16we've heard with the NFL with CTE.
- 9:19I'm not saying the kid had CTE, but just think about it, the
- 9:23depression and this, this sustained things that could
- 9:27happen in your life. And I know because I've seen
- 9:30people get abused many, many times in school.
- 9:33And I used to, I, I tell the story, I used to beat up the
- 9:36bully and I used to see all these kids get, you know, beaten
- 9:39up. And it's not a lie when you go
- 9:41to a locker room and you see the abuse that some of these kids
- 9:44get because they're too thin, too hairy, just dorky, geeky,
- 9:50wearing glasses, fat jobby, you know all about that.
- 9:53You were picked on when you were a kid for a little while.
- 9:55You, you know what it's like. And so it's to me, it's just a
- 9:59horrible, horrible thing. And just to think about this
- 10:02story and, and how people can go through these things and not get
- 10:07help. And I, I, I, my heart goes out
- 10:10to the Rooney family. I just, I'm stuttering because I
- 10:12don't even know what to say. And I'm standing by, you know,
- 10:16you hear these stories and, and I, I've, I've heard stories over
- 10:19the last couple of months, I've had a friend, friend that
- 10:22committed suicide, hung himself. And it's just, it's not good.
- 10:27It's not fun to go to these, these funerals.
- 10:31It, it's not obviously not very good to talk to the families,
- 10:34the moms, the dads. So it's a horrible, horrible
- 10:37story. And my heart goes out to the
- 10:40Rooney family. It's horrible.
- 10:41And I I know the grandparents I've known his son was one of my
- 10:45best friends growing up. Now I don't talk to him anymore
- 10:48because he's an ass. And that's a whole nother story.
- 10:50And hopefully he reaches out to the family because that ass is
- 10:54just, he needs to be smacked around.
- 10:55And you know what I'm talking about, Keith, you know who I'm
- 10:58talking about. If you're listening to the show,
- 11:00Rooney, Mr. Brandon Rooney, if he's listening to the show and
- 11:04if he's not, I don't give a crap.
- 11:06But maybe you should reach out to the family and actually show
- 11:09a little bit more commitment to your family because that's one
- 11:12of your cousins. And now he's gone and you didn't
- 11:15say goodbye to him. So my heart goes out to the
- 11:17Rooney family. The New York Post reports that
- 11:21Aaron Judge will be headed to the 10 day IL list with a right
- 11:28flexor strain. The the Yankees training staff
- 11:31called the injury and elbow issue, but Aaron Boone said
- 11:34there was no tear in Judges UCL. Boone also called out or called
- 11:40the diagnosis good news, but also says that Judge will only
- 11:44be a designated hitter for the rest of the season.
- 11:47John Heyman reports that the Yankees are only hoping Judge
- 11:51would be would have ADH for, well DH for 10 games when he
- 11:57returns, turns and can transition back in playing the
- 12:00outfield. Boone also has talked about
- 12:03Giancarlo Stanton about getting into the outfield route and
- 12:07having his reps Now the Judge is going to be out for possibly a
- 12:11significant amount of time. The Yankees traded for infield
- 12:14Ahmed Rosario from the Nationals.
- 12:17Rosario has mostly played second base the last two years with the
- 12:22Nationals and the Rays, but did play 27 games in right field
- 12:27with the Rays in 2024. Judge is hitting 342 with 37
- 12:31home runs in 85 RBI this season. It was up for an MVP running.
- 12:37Now obviously Raleigh is having an unbelievable season.
- 12:40He hit his 40th over the weekend and he's just on a tear.
- 12:44A catch. He's got 41 now.
- 12:46Yeah, he's he's on a tear, a catcher hitting that many home
- 12:48runs and you there's a lot of games left.
- 12:50I I think there's like 7877 games left so about. 60.
- 12:54No, I think it's. OK, what?
- 12:56I think we're at the 100 mark. Whatever it it doesn't matter
- 12:59how many games he's got a newer he's got a lot of games.
- 13:02He he can hit over 60 home runs, 65 home runs.
- 13:05I don't know the exact total how many games left over there for
- 13:09for Raleigh, but he's having a tremendous season.
- 13:12A catcher hitting forty home runs and hitting at a high
- 13:15batting average is pretty it's pretty impressive.
- 13:18And Raleigh, now, I'm not saying he's doing anything, but when
- 13:21you hear stories like this and he's never done anything like
- 13:23this in his career, you question it.
- 13:26But again, he's doing something that we haven't seen a catcher
- 13:29do ever. And I don't think by the end of
- 13:32this season he might be breaking every single catching offensive
- 13:36record we've seen. But the interesting story about
- 13:39this Aaron Judge injury is that Aaron Judge is a big part of
- 13:45this offense. He is really the numeral Uno of
- 13:48this offense now. John Carlos Stanton coming back,
- 13:51he's, he's on a tear right now. He's playing great baseball
- 13:54offensively. I, I, I wouldn't trust that.
- 13:57I would trust that he would go out into the outfield.
- 13:59You put him in harm's way. This guy is really it.
- 14:03It worries you because he could step on his own toe and he could
- 14:06be out for a significant amount of time.
- 14:07We've seen John Carlos stand over the years.
- 14:09Can't stay healthy out in the outfield, playing defense.
- 14:12And it worries me that when you put him out in right field or
- 14:15even left field, you're putting him in harm's way.
- 14:17But again, the Yankees are going to have to do that.
- 14:19If Aaron Judge comes back, Aaron Boone saying that he hopes in 10
- 14:24games after coming back from his, you know, his IL stent,
- 14:28that he, he'll only be ADH for 10 games.
- 14:30I I don't think that's likely when you hear something like
- 14:33this, you want to be careful. You don't want him throwing the
- 14:36ball out in the outfield. You don't want him tearing his
- 14:39UCL and be out a significant amount of time.
- 14:41Now this is not a pitcher. So if he does tear his UCL or he
- 14:45does go in the offseason and goes in for surgery, he will be
- 14:49back next year. As we all know, Shay Otani was
- 14:52so Shay Otani was ADH for a full season after having his UCL
- 14:57tear. Now this is a little bit
- 14:58different. You'll probably be back 60 games
- 15:01left of the season next year in the outfield.
- 15:04So, so it's not putting too much torque on his elbow.
- 15:06But when you hear a story like this, it's not a good sign for
- 15:09the New York Yankees. The Yankees have not played
- 15:11well. They have not played well since
- 15:14really three weeks before the All Star break and a week and a
- 15:17half, two weeks in after the All Star break.
- 15:19They have not been good. Now you're seeing Brian Cashman
- 15:23make moves. We expect that.
- 15:24McMahon was a big part of that win yesterday.
- 15:27So that's a good sign. You're getting offense from a
- 15:29guy that you need it. You need offense from and third
- 15:32base, which the Yankees have got no offense from the third base
- 15:36position and you're getting a shutdown defender.
- 15:39So if McMahon can continue doing what he is doing right now, the
- 15:42Yankees got him on the cheat. I met Rosario is an addition
- 15:46where they added a Major League player.
- 15:49Pereza and all these guys that they're bringing up that you're
- 15:52hearing they're AAA players, they're not Major League
- 15:55players. So bringing it on members are
- 15:57now he's not he's not a power hitter.
- 16:00He's not a home run hitter. We know him from the New York
- 16:02Mets. He was a prospect from the New
- 16:04York Mets. He's not a superstar, but he is
- 16:07a quality player that can add innings for you as far as the
- 16:11offensive side of the ball, he's very good against lefties, not
- 16:15very good with right handers. So I that's something that the
- 16:18Yankees are going to have to look at and there's still there
- 16:21are still questions if they're going to add another back to
- 16:24this lineup before the before the trade deadline is over.
- 16:27Now there is stories coming out that they could be, you know,
- 16:32putting out there for, you know, a superstar young player that
- 16:35they have in their front system in Jones.
- 16:37Now. I, I, I don't know if the
- 16:40Yankees are willing or able to, to do something like that early,
- 16:46you know, early in this kids career.
- 16:47He's 2122 years old. He's a hot hitter now.
- 16:49I know obviously we've heard from Fish over the last couple
- 16:54of weeks say, hey, listen, you can get him at the high highest
- 16:58point right now. He's playing great baseball in
- 17:01AAA. Maybe you move him and you get
- 17:03as much as you possibly can for him.
- 17:05The problem with the Yankees over the years is they move
- 17:08young players and sometimes they don't turn out to anything and
- 17:11most of them don't turn out to be anything.
- 17:13But something tells me, and I've said this many, many times and
- 17:16I've been right over the last two years about some of these
- 17:19young players that this kid could be a superstar.
- 17:22And the Yankees compare his skills as A5 stool player, a
- 17:26left-handed, a left-handed Aaron Judge.
- 17:30So I'm not saying he's Aaron Judge.
- 17:32And Aaron Judge has really tweaked his his his swing over
- 17:36the years when he came into the major leagues.
- 17:38And again, Aaron Judge didn't come up till he was 24.
- 17:41This kid is 22 years old. That means we're going to wait
- 17:43until he's 24 years old that we're going to see him in the
- 17:45majors. The Yankees cannot do and
- 17:48waiting for the state to come up.
- 17:49So maybe they decide to move them.
- 17:51But again, you you go back to the Yankees situation and, and
- 17:55Jabba and, and obviously speedy your baseball guys.
- 17:58It worries me when you have Aaron Boone coming out and
- 18:01saying since the All Star break that this team is a good
- 18:04defensive team when they're one of the worst defensive teams in
- 18:06baseball. They've been one of the worst
- 18:07defensive teams in baseball for the last past month.
- 18:10And then he comes out saying that he's not worried.
- 18:12This team is not getting offense from really any of their
- 18:15positions besides John Carlos. Stan Volpe is an absolute
- 18:19debacle. They're not getting any offense
- 18:21at the catching position. When I thought Austin Wells was
- 18:24going to have a great season. He's up and down.
- 18:26You're not getting enough power from that position like we
- 18:29expected. And then the outfield, besides
- 18:32Dominguez is a guy that I expected.
- 18:35Everybody called him the alien. What do they call the Martian?
- 18:38Whatever they call him, Well, he's a he's a guy, he's a switch
- 18:42hitting player who is, you know, he's up, he's loud, he's up,
- 18:45he's down. Is he a moving piece?
- 18:47Is he a trade chip for a guy like Brian Cashman to add a
- 18:50pitcher to this lineup and maybe use him in a double trade or
- 18:55using the three-way deal where you can add a picture and and a
- 18:59hitter with another man that you could put out in the outfield or
- 19:02maybe another guy that you could put at first or even short?
- 19:05The Yankees right now are in a real interesting situation.
- 19:12Corey Seeger is a guy that a lot of people are talking about now.
- 19:15I know that Fish said Corey Seeger would be a great get for
- 19:19the New York Yankees. Now, if you go after Corey
- 19:21Seeger, if he is available, you're going to have to give up
- 19:25a significant amount of prospects for him.
- 19:27He's an injury prone player. Yes, he hits.
- 19:30He's a guy that can hit over 300.
- 19:31Yes, he hits very well against righties and lefties and he
- 19:34would add power to a stadium where he would be able to pull
- 19:38the ball in Yankee Stadium and put a lot of big numbers out
- 19:41there in Yankee Stadium. I just worry about his injury
- 19:44situation. I also worry about the Yankees
- 19:47reaching and trading away a young prospect like this.
- 19:50He goes to Texas, he goes to Baltimore, wherever they decide
- 19:53to trade him, and he becomes a superstar.
- 19:55That's what worries me about the Yankees.
- 19:57Yeah, you look at the options that they have for trading with
- 20:00Spencer Jones too. I think it's kind of limited
- 20:01because you want to, if you're going to trade Jones just like
- 20:04has that much upside in AAA, it really has to be for that like
- 20:07big name hitter that you know is going to be a surefire thing.
- 20:10Now, Corey Seeger is that to an extent.
- 20:12But like you said, he's injury pro now.
- 20:13He's great in the postseason too.
- 20:14He won the World Series MVP with the Dodgers and he was very good
- 20:17with the post season with the Rangers as well.
- 20:19The one, the one I brought up a couple weeks ago could be Katel
- 20:21Marte. He's another one that is
- 20:22available. The Diamondbacks are shopping
- 20:24him. He's I don't know if they're
- 20:25gonna definitively trade him. It seems like they're gonna
- 20:27definitively trade Suarez, but that's the only one I would
- 20:29trade in terms of Spencer Jones, unless you're getting maybe two
- 20:33players in the deal too. And that's what makes this Aaron
- 20:35Judge situation tricky too, because I don't think there's
- 20:37anything on the trademark you're ever going to get the combined
- 20:39production offensively with Aaron Judge.
- 20:41But now you have a situation where if he has the DH for an
- 20:43extended period of time, how much do you want Giancarlo Stan
- 20:46playing defense of the outfield too?
- 20:48That's why maybe a defensive center fielder attached with a
- 20:51player could be an interesting scenario to get a maybe a light
- 20:54hitting bottom of the lineup outfielder that could be a
- 20:56contact hitter type thing to go along with a potential hitter.
- 21:00Now Rosario is a versatile guy. He play second, he can play
- 21:03third, he can play outfield, but really doesn't play any of them
- 21:05well. I just think of him more as a
- 21:07super utility guy. But he's going to probably be
- 21:09your lead guy to sub at least in the corner outfield spots and
- 21:12maybe move Grisham back to center in the mean.
- 21:14Spencer Jones, by the way, just turned 24.
- 21:16He turned 24 in May, as Jabba posted up in the group message.
- 21:20So it doesn't honestly, it doesn't matter how old he is.
- 21:24The fact is, is the Yankees are going to have to decide when are
- 21:27they going to call this kid up. Aaron Judge was called up at 24.
- 21:30That means Spencer Jones should be up in the next year or so.
- 21:34And if I were the Yankees right now, I would see what you have
- 21:37to bring them into the big if he's crushing AAA hitting, you
- 21:42bring him up and you see what you have.
- 21:43Maybe you get a, you know, you get a lightning in a bottle.
- 21:45We saw that with Gary Sanchez in the second-half of his
- 21:49second-half of the season when he came up as a rookie and he
- 21:52almost won rookie of the year that year.
- 21:53So maybe you get lightning in a bottle.
- 21:55Maybe you give you get this kid, you put him out in the outfield.
- 21:58Now that Aaron Judge could be out a significant amount of
- 22:00time, he's a pretty good, pretty decent defender.
- 22:03He's not Aaron, he's not an Aaron Judge in the outfield.
- 22:05But he adds dynamic 5 tool type of player and you could get
- 22:11lightning and a bottle from it. So Spencer Jones, if if the
- 22:14Yankees are seeing this kid, he's hit thirteen home runs in
- 22:17in the in the month of June or whatever it was in the last four
- 22:20weeks. See what you have in the major
- 22:22leagues. He's 24.
- 22:24See what you have that that's where I would go if I were the
- 22:27Yankees. I know that's not what Fish
- 22:29wants because he strikes out a lot.
- 22:30But guess what, if you have something and this kid gets hot
- 22:34in the major leagues, we saw what he did in the preseason.
- 22:38He was in spring training. He was pretty good.
- 22:41It was last year, the year before, he was one of the
- 22:43hottest hitters for the Yankees in spring training.
- 22:45I know it's spring training. I know it's against AAA if
- 22:48you're pitching, I understand that.
- 22:50But the guy is hot right now. And if he's a hot commodity and
- 22:53he can hit against Major League pitching, even goes for a week,
- 22:57comes up for a week and he's hitting when it comes to Major
- 23:00League pitching, then if you're just you decide to trade them,
- 23:03maybe you can get a big time super side like a Jose Ramirez
- 23:07if he becomes available. Because right now AAA, it's
- 23:11nothing. There's nothing impressive when
- 23:13he's hitting thirteen home runs right now in four weeks in AAA.
- 23:16That's not Major League pitching.
- 23:18That's all I'm going to. Say, yeah, I was going to
- 23:19mention, too, like, I think the timing of it with the Yankees
- 23:22and these younger players, too has been kind of up and down
- 23:24over the years of when they've been able to come up.
- 23:26Obviously they nailed Aaron Judge and like you said, Gary
- 23:28Sanchez got off to the hot and then just fell off later.
- 23:30But at what point? Like?
- 23:33He came up in the second-half and he got hot.
- 23:35Yeah, he goes. I think he hit like 1213 home
- 23:38runs as a catcher and he was up for Rookie of the year.
- 23:41If he played 10 more games, he would have probably won Rookie
- 23:44of the year. The last player to do that in in
- 23:46that sort of stint I think was Babe Ruth, I think it was, or
- 23:50some, some ridiculous number that numbers he was putting up
- 23:54in in like 50 games. He was ridiculous.
- 23:57Yeah, and again, you never want to really stunt a young players
- 23:59growth as it is. And sometimes this late in the
- 24:01season there can be pressure to do that kind of thing to create
- 24:04a spark. We saw Kansas City do that last
- 24:05month with Jack Hagley only calling him up.
- 24:07And again, it really hasn't been a big spark for the Royals
- 24:09offense. They've still been very bad
- 24:11throughout the year. But we also saw with Texas two
- 24:13years ago, they played their kids a lot of the time
- 24:14throughout the season. They won a World Series even
- 24:16though they weren't high end guys.
- 24:17So it's a tricky dilemma with what you.
- 24:19Don't know what you have until you let him come up and you see
- 24:22what he has. I know everybody's afraid.
- 24:25Well, he's at his highest point. If we don't, if we bring him up
- 24:29and he tells what, what are you going to do when you bring him
- 24:31back down? He's going to lose confidence.
- 24:33Stop it. He's 24 years old.
- 24:35The guy is killing AAA hitting. He was killing AA hitting.
- 24:38That's why he moved up from AA to triple AI.
- 24:41Think you, you, you see what you have.
- 24:43The Yankees right now are not hitting enough.
- 24:45I think he's better than half the guys right now.
- 24:47You're going to tell me right now, would you rather see
- 24:49Spencer Jones or Dominguez? Dominguez is hot and cold every
- 24:53time he goes out there. And honestly, he's one of the
- 24:56worst defensive players we've seen come up with the Yankees,
- 24:59you know, Yankees farm system in a long time.
- 25:02I mean, Florio, remember him? Everybody said this guy was A5
- 25:07tall player. He was an absolute bust.
- 25:10I want to see more of of somebody like Spencer Jones.
- 25:14If you have something, bring them up and see what you have.
- 25:17If you look at Gary Sanchez, Gary Sanchez came up at 24.
- 25:20Aaron Judge came up at 24. Luis Savarino came up at 24.
- 25:24He this kids 24 and he's the hottest hitter right now or one
- 25:27of the hottest hitters in to play.
- 25:29I don't care where he's ranked in the top 100 guys in baseball
- 25:32fish. I know that's what you're going
- 25:34to say. Well, he's not in the top 100.
- 25:36Who the hell cares? I've heard this many, many times
- 25:39and and this guy, it could be a genie in the bottle.
- 25:43And the Yankees need that right now.
- 25:45They need them. I, I mean, it's, it's tough
- 25:51either way because and as I've, as I've said to other people,
- 25:54it's you're, you've already stated that judge is going to
- 25:57come back as ADH. So obviously you're going to
- 26:00take away a bathroom stand. You want Stan to be healthy and
- 26:05you want him to, to be to the best of his ability at the
- 26:08plate. We don't need him, you know,
- 26:10play outfield and it's just I, I don't necessarily know if I
- 26:14would use the word liability, but it's pretty darn close.
- 26:17Where, you know, there's there's just the aspect of him getting
- 26:21her playing the outfield is more so than him just the aging.
- 26:25And do you take a shot at Spencer?
- 26:27But we don't know how bad Spencer's back spasms.
- 26:30He hasn't played in three games. They had an off day today.
- 26:34And so obviously getting treatment doing that.
- 26:37But I mean, that's obviously the game, but I think it's it's
- 26:42catch 22 and I kind of see both sides.
- 26:44But right now what depending on what you do at the deadline, do
- 26:49you do you bring them up before? Do you bring up after and just
- 26:55see kind of the moves we make as far as I mean, it's been stated
- 27:00by Jeff Passan Nightingale, like, you know, everybody that's
- 27:03talked about baseball that they still want to get, you know, a
- 27:06swinging miss reliever, another bat.
- 27:10It was just lends me to believe if if we're searching for this
- 27:12at the deadline, what were we doing in the offseason that that
- 27:14that's the kind of the other question that boggles my mind.
- 27:18Well, relief pitchers are tough to judge, too, because they're
- 27:20kind of up and down. Year to year.
- 27:21As it is, so like you could have traded for somebody that did
- 27:23well last year and all of a sudden they fall off.
- 27:25But the reliever market has to be something the Yankees are
- 27:27going to prioritize if they're going to for the pitching end.
- 27:29And then hitting end wise, like you can't really prioritize
- 27:32positions as much anymore too. You just need a good bat because
- 27:34Jazz, Chisholm and like you said, maybe Dominguez are really
- 27:37the only two bats you're getting.
- 27:39Stop calling Jizzy. It's, it's jazz.
- 27:41It's jazz jism, OK? And that guy doesn't shut the
- 27:44hell up. He I, I remember, I, I, I, I
- 27:47think I remember him after the Home Run Derby saying that the
- 27:49Yankees are still the best team in baseball.
- 27:51And ever since they came back, what's the Yankees record?
- 27:55What is the Yankees record? When you hear jazz?
- 27:57I mean, they've been horrible and and Aaron Boone's going to
- 28:00take the brunt of it. It always happens to the
- 28:02manager. Everybody wants to get rid of
- 28:04Aaron Boone, but Aaron Boone isn't the reason why they're
- 28:06they're not hitting or they're not pitching.
- 28:08The got the hottest pitcher for the Yankees right now is Carlos
- 28:11Rodon. And now we're talking about
- 28:13blisters right now with Max Freed.
- 28:15This, this would it bothers me right now when when the Yankees,
- 28:20could you imagine if Garricko was healthy right now?
- 28:22He had a healthy Max Freed and Rodon pitching the way he's
- 28:25pitching right now. And then you have, you have
- 28:28Louise coming back soon, Lewis coming back, Louise, whatever
- 28:31his name is, he'll coming back. So if you have that, you got
- 28:34A1234 punch the Yankees would have in the second-half of the
- 28:37season. It would it would bother me
- 28:40right now if Aaron Boones name is being brought up as as a guy
- 28:45that you're going to probably fire at the end of the season
- 28:48when it's not Aaron Boone's fault.
- 28:50It isn't Aaron Boone's fault. He is a puppet.
- 28:53And right now the strings are being moved because Brian
- 28:55Cashman is telling him, hey, go out to the press conference and
- 28:59say what? Tell him what I'm going to tell
- 29:01you. I'm going to give you a list of
- 29:02things to say. Don't throw anybody under the
- 29:04bus and be a good team leader. That's what Aaron Boone does.
- 29:08He's Brian Cashman's bitch. That's the facts.
- 29:12That's the facts, guys. And, and, and you guys got to
- 29:14stop blaming the manager. Well, we need a new face.
- 29:17We need a new voice. Really.
- 29:19Who are they going to bring in? What guy out there that you're
- 29:23hearing big names out here out there that the Yankees are going
- 29:27to bring in? It's just going to blow your
- 29:28mind. There's nobody.
- 29:30I would love Mark De Rosa. I would love him, but that's not
- 29:34going to happen. He's the Yankees aren't going to
- 29:36they're good. Yankees are going to bring in a
- 29:37Yankee. That's what they're going to do.
- 29:39Carlos Beltran's name has been brought up a couple, a couple of
- 29:42times. Again, what are you going to go
- 29:44with Carlos Beltran? I did.
- 29:46That's the problem with the Yankees.
- 29:48You're you're hearing these names and they don't, they don't
- 29:51satisfy you. It doesn't satisfy me.
- 29:54You signed Aaron Boone in the offseason to a three-year
- 29:57extension and you're going to blame Aaron Boone for the this
- 30:00absolute drop because you're not getting timely hitting.
- 30:03That's because of the what do they call it?
- 30:05The analytics crew over there, the executives over there,
- 30:08whatever as Fish calls it, the MIT guys, MIT guys.
- 30:11I mean, you're going to point your fingers.
- 30:13That's the guys to blame. You're going to blame the
- 30:15analytic guys because you're the one who brought in Bellinger.
- 30:18You're the one who thought Goldschman would last for the
- 30:21season. I thought Goldschman, I still
- 30:23think Goldschman is a good addition.
- 30:24He's a good leader in the in the in the clubhouse, but he's not
- 30:28doing what he did in the beginning of the season.
- 30:29But it would worry me right now when you're sitting here and the
- 30:33only thing everybody and all these all these fans are doing
- 30:36on social media is it's Aaron Boone's fault.
- 30:39No, it's guys like Jazz Chism who goes out there and opens his
- 30:43fat mouth and says the things that he says.
- 30:45We're a good team. We're a good power team.
- 30:47We're the we're one of the best teams in the league.
- 30:49We all the best. Team that's not just Jazz,
- 30:51that's Aaron Boone. Errol.
- 30:53That's all Aaron Boone does. Why is we're great defensively
- 30:57after a 4 hour game? We're the we're savages at the
- 31:01plate when you're not having good at bats.
- 31:02It was a savage. It's a bunch of crabby, let me
- 31:05tell you. Three home runs.
- 31:06Worst. Worst time I've ever I've That's
- 31:09probably the worst Home Run Derby I've ever seen.
- 31:10A Yankee half. Well, that's fine, but he Jazz
- 31:13is not the reason they're losing.
- 31:15No, there's a lot of reasons why they're.
- 31:16Losing you guys, you blame them because you're a Yankee fan.
- 31:20Here's here's the blame. He's not the only one.
- 31:22I think Cashman and Lenny from MIT and all the other guys with
- 31:26the torpedo bats up in the in the.
- 31:28I love how you gave him the name Lenny.
- 31:31I I thought that was fun like some.
- 31:33Story about ownership. Well, I look, I mean, let's,
- 31:37let's start with the coach. Let's work our way up the
- 31:40pyramid, IPC. Hold on before you go there,
- 31:43because I have a feeling I know what you're going to say.
- 31:44When the Yankees didn't get Sodo, they all said we're going
- 31:49to focus on bringing in players like a play defense.
- 31:52You needed a third baseman and you didn't want to add the extra
- 31:55money unless you got rid of Strowman's contract.
- 31:57I blame that on ownership. I don't blame the the Strowman
- 32:01deal was a mistake, and it's one of many mistakes Ashman
- 32:05routinely makes. See, I blame.
- 32:07Ownership for not spending, going above what he wanted to do
- 32:11to make the team better. You could have did it there.
- 32:13No. Everybody knew Jazz was not a
- 32:16third baseman. You played half the season with
- 32:18him at third base. Now you're getting a third
- 32:20baseman. That's the reason why you let
- 32:23Cleba Torres go to move him back to 2nd.
- 32:25Base but Mikey they they had the protractor in the booth coming
- 32:29up with the angle that jazz would throw at because of you
- 32:32know his his hip motions look I can't stand that they went into
- 32:37the season without a real third baseman and put their second
- 32:40baseman at third base and was like see it'll it'll be just
- 32:43fine he did it in a pinch last year and was serviceable they.
- 32:46Had a Are you kidding? They had a deal on the table to
- 32:48bring in Aaron Nano, Goldsmith's best friend.
- 32:50They didn't want it. Aaron Coronado and Goldschmidt
- 32:53are both washed up. They're both Mikey.
- 32:55Mikey, by the way, that's a false.
- 32:58That's a false. Statement There was no Arenado
- 32:59deal. Well, regardless of anything
- 33:01where a Gold Glove third baseman would have came in immediately
- 33:04put Jazz back at. 2nd Jabba's friends with Arenado look.
- 33:07Look, I'm with you on that, Mikey.
- 33:09See, the fact they didn't do that is strike one against this
- 33:12team. Now I don't know if that's
- 33:13ownership or Cashman, but it's a huge mistake.
- 33:16The thing that gets me with Boone, and I say it all the
- 33:18time, is well coached teams don't make them mistakes that
- 33:22the Yankees make during games routinely.
- 33:25You don't see the bad base running to this extent, you
- 33:28don't see the sloppy play in the field routinely and you don't
- 33:31see them blowing games that they could easily win.
- 33:35It's not just because they're look, they look, There's a lot
- 33:39that they miss. There's a lot.
- 33:40Maybe you miss Mendoza. Look.
- 33:43You know the. Guy went across we could, we
- 33:45could, we could joke. I could joke about.
- 33:47No, no. What it is, what it is, is he's
- 33:49a Met fan, so he's going to he's going to go out there and he he
- 33:52likes to pat himself on the back.
- 33:53But the Mets haven't won anything since 19. 86 Listen, I.
- 33:56Always so I met Dozer's been very, very good.
- 33:58He might be up for Manager of the year.
- 34:01Well he might be. If they go on, they go on a
- 34:04terror in the second-half. They very much good.
- 34:06But again, Fish is going to go back and forth what, what, what
- 34:11the, the, the stuff that Aaron Boone is doing in games.
- 34:14Again, he's looking at his analytics.
- 34:16He's getting a call up from the top and they're telling him what
- 34:18to do. It's not him making the
- 34:20decision. I'm saying not you're in the
- 34:22games. I'm not saying you're in the
- 34:23games, I'm saying when you get a job.
- 34:25But you can comment to this, like when you were with Joe
- 34:28Torre or Joe Girardi rather, you know, you got practice at a
- 34:32certain time, you show up to the field a certain way, you get
- 34:35there and you do your drills every time in a certain routine.
- 34:39And I just don't know if Boone has instilled that same lever.
- 34:44You just a regular practice you just no.
- 34:46Because I I I ask as a coach, as a coach, Errol, I ask why teams
- 34:51are sloppy. This.
- 34:52Isn't football. I always say it's a bad coach
- 34:55team that's sloppy. They don't care what sport it
- 34:58is. Basketball, football, baseball
- 35:00doesn't matter. It's completely different
- 35:02baseball. All the coach teams are sloppy.
- 35:04First of all, football it, it's all it's the value of a football
- 35:08team goes through the coach. Everybody knows that you don't
- 35:11have a good coach, you're gonna fail.
- 35:13Doesn't matter how much talent you have.
- 35:14We've seen it many, many times. The Cleveland Browns, remember
- 35:17that with Baker Mayfield. I, I mean, seriously, I that was
- 35:21horrible. Horrible.
- 35:22They had tremendous amount of talent over there.
- 35:24Everybody said they were the most talented team in the AFC
- 35:27and one of the best teams. The Brooklyn Nets.
- 35:29Another team. And they thought they were gonna
- 35:31win. But basketball is different,
- 35:32too, because if you have two great players, you don't.
- 35:35Yeah, I'm just. Oh.
- 35:36Mikey, hold this on that. We will talk about that later.
- 35:39I got that. What I'm, what I'm saying right
- 35:40now is baseball is different because if you do have talent
- 35:45that'll keep you afloat, but it's not management.
- 35:48It's all about quote UN quote analytics.
- 35:51And with the Yankees analytics, if they have the best and the
- 35:55Yankees are an organization has all the money and they invest
- 35:57all their money into these analytic guys and some of the
- 36:00best in the business. Why are there analytics all over
- 36:04the place and everybody else is is so perfect?
- 36:06Is that Aaron Boone's fault? Hey, you know what?
- 36:08I'm going to blame Aaron Boone because he doesn't know the
- 36:11mathematical equation of WAR. Give me a break.
- 36:16OK? I'm not going to blame Aaron
- 36:18Boone because he has people calling him up in the dugout and
- 36:21tell him, put this guy in, put that guy in, take that guy out,
- 36:24take that guy out. I mean, come on.
- 36:26It's absolutely stupid. And and honestly, if all the
- 36:30Yankee fans want to blame coaching and management, well,
- 36:33guess what? The Yankees are never going to
- 36:34win because it's not management. It's the way they put this team
- 36:38together. Balance.
- 36:39Bellinger is not a good player. You know he's not.
- 36:43No, I. Don't I just?
- 36:44I don't. I don't. 85850 OPI.
- 36:47Don't. I don't care.
- 36:48I don't care about his statistics in the big game and
- 36:50in the big part of the games. He's not doing enough.
- 36:52He's not doing enough. He's a decent defensive player.
- 36:55I think he's a good fit for the. Team I don't.
- 36:57He's playing, he's batting third.
- 36:59Do you want him batting 3rd at this point?
- 37:00His career? Maybe not.
- 37:01Shouldn't. Be a third place hitter, but I
- 37:03think he's athletic enough and he's I think he's a good fit for
- 37:06what the team. Needs.
- 37:07I don't. I don't want Bella.
- 37:08He could. Play.
- 37:09I like him in left field a lot. He.
- 37:11Could play. I mean, he can play.
- 37:12First, OK, Would you rather? Who but who else would you
- 37:15rather have? Kyle Tucker right now, Kyle
- 37:17Tucker and Kyle at the end of the season, No, but that's what
- 37:20I'm saying. Are you going to extend
- 37:22Bellinger at the end of the season?
- 37:24He'll get a yeah, but people in hell want ice water too.
- 37:26But let's let's play with what we got right now, OK?
- 37:29I think they don't have, I think.
- 37:31They don't have nothing. I think they don't have nothing
- 37:34is your first baseman. They have garbage.
- 37:36The Yankees are a garbage team right now.
- 37:38Let's be honest, Jazz Chism coming out and and you know,
- 37:41shooting his load all the time. When he comes out of his mouth,
- 37:45I don't want to hear him because the team sucks.
- 37:47They're absolute garbage. Without our judge in the lineup,
- 37:51they're garbage. The veins pop it out because
- 37:53it's the truth. It's a garbage team.
- 37:56What we're seeing being trailed out there on a field is garbage.
- 38:00When your best pitcher, no offense, Carlos, your Carlos
- 38:03wrote down is your best pitcher, that's scary right now.
- 38:06It is scary when you look at their bullpen.
- 38:08You give you're traded for Devin Williams, you bring that idiot
- 38:12in and he can't pitch a lick. His ERA was 11.
- 38:15What what 2530 games into the season that they had to move him
- 38:19out as a closer when he was one of the best closers in baseball?
- 38:23Why is it when you come to the Yankees, you can't really cut it
- 38:27in New York? And that's is why I go out there
- 38:31and I'll say I'll tell the truth.
- 38:32If I were the Yankees, I'm Sellers.
- 38:34I'm sellers right now. I trade away pieces and build
- 38:38for next year. You have Cole coming back next
- 38:40year, you'll have Max Freed, you have Rodon, you'll have you'll
- 38:44have Louise. You'll have all these guys.
- 38:47They'll be back next year. And I know he's not going to do
- 38:50that, though. They'll never do that.
- 38:53They fire cash. They'll still have a winning
- 38:55record. They'll still have a.
- 38:56Winning record. I know what the Yankees need.
- 38:58They need one soda. No, stop.
- 39:01They're going to do what they did with McMahon, get guys that
- 39:03have a couple of years of controllability, you know, No,
- 39:07no, seriously, they'll get guys like McMahon who you have passed
- 39:10this year so that even if he can help you some this year, you're
- 39:14not like going all in trading for Ryan McMahon, right?
- 39:17You're giving up your 8th best prospect in your 20 something
- 39:20best prospect. That was a great, it's a good
- 39:22move. He plays much better.
- 39:23I mean, he won the game for us on Sunday.
- 39:26I mean, he did with his defense and his offense.
- 39:28He's a good. I mean, the guy's a good player.
- 39:31Roseanne for Roseanne. A nice player.
- 39:34Well, Rosario will only play against lefties, right?
- 39:36So you didn't have a guy like that before.
- 39:39We're judging because you were trotting out your vivas, you
- 39:42were trotting out garbage. So I think those moves are fine,
- 39:46but you said it Errol, you have a problem.
- 39:48You got Dominguez, who's mediocre at best and bad on
- 39:51defense. You've got now you have Stanton,
- 39:53who's going to need to play the outfields.
- 39:55Well, I got and. You have Spencer Jones, who's
- 39:57also an outfielder. I got to That's three guys.
- 39:59You're not playing one spot. You're.
- 40:01Not bringing Spencer Jones up I. Don't.
- 40:03I don't think it also. So what do you do?
- 40:06The question is, is it you move Dominguez and you bring Spencer
- 40:09Jones up? No, there's a guy so that he can
- 40:11play that spot. I think would be a perfect fit
- 40:13for the Yankees, and that's Tyler Ward of the Angels.
- 40:15I know he doesn't have a high batting average, but he has the
- 40:17power. I've had him in fantasy forever.
- 40:20I'm. Reading Motel.
- 40:22I'm reading what Keith is saying.
- 40:23He says the Yankees aren't bad and Williams is pitching well.
- 40:26His ERA is 4.58. That's not great.
- 40:29This guy career wise in the last four years had the bet, one of
- 40:33the best, one of the top three, ER as as a closer in the league.
- 40:37His ERA last year was what, 1.10 or something like that?
- 40:41And right now for the Yankees is 4.58.
- 40:43You think he's pitching well? Get out of here, Keith and Well
- 40:46and Bellinger. Since the beginning, you know,
- 40:48like he started at 11. If you're at 4 now, that means
- 40:51you've been at like a one since. Then it doesn't, right?
- 40:54It doesn't matter if if you're if this guy's going to get a lot
- 40:58of money next year because that's what he's going to get.
- 41:00He's going to be asking for about 1415 million as a closer.
- 41:05You've got to put out those numbers.
- 41:06And he hasn't this year. He's just he hasn't.
- 41:09And as a Yankee fan, you're going to sit here and say this
- 41:12team is good. Come on guys, the Yankees aren't
- 41:14going to win this year. And at that, if the Yankees are
- 41:17all about winning, right? Is that what they're all about?
- 41:20It's all about going into a season knowing that you all have
- 41:22a chance to win. The Yankees are not they're not
- 41:26a winning or they're not a winning team this year.
- 41:28And if I were the Yankees right now, I'd start moving chips.
- 41:32You'll still have a winning record.
- 41:34I I still think the Yankees have a winning record.
- 41:36They're they're just not going, they're not going to be better
- 41:38right now than any of the teams right now in the Central.
- 41:41They're gritty teams, all the teams and I think 2 teams are
- 41:44going to come out of the Central.
- 41:45And if you look at even the, the, the West, the American
- 41:49League West, I think there are two teams that are going to come
- 41:51out of the American League West. And there are two teams that are
- 41:53three teams that might come out of the American League East.
- 41:56And I just think if I was, if I were the Yankees organization
- 41:59right now, I'm trying to rebuild my farm system, which is ranked
- 42:03right now 27th in baseball. That's scary right now.
- 42:07If you look at where the Yankees are ranked in the second-half of
- 42:10the season, they're ranked 27th in farm systems.
- 42:15That's not good. And here we go with let's bet.
- 42:17Let's bet. We're not going to bet anything.
- 42:19The Yankees are going to make the playoffs and they're going
- 42:21to lose. You want to bet on that, Keith?
- 42:24You want to make a bet that the Yankees are not not going to
- 42:27make it to the World Series this year.
- 42:29They're not even going to get into the they're not even going
- 42:31to get into the ALCS. They're not even going to get
- 42:34into the ALCS. You want to bet?
- 42:35I'll bet on that. What do you want to bet?
- 42:38I'll definitely bet on that. The Yankees aren't good enough.
- 42:42They're not. And there's other teams in the
- 42:43American League that hasn't, can afford to make that kind of
- 42:45bigger swings, too. If the Yankees aren't going to
- 42:47trade Spencer Jones and maybe Houston goes for that big bat,
- 42:50maybe Detroit, it definitely is a team that can go for the big
- 42:52bat. I heard the Tigers are very
- 42:53interested in Suarez, too. And then there's other teams in
- 42:55the American League East to the Red Sox, the Rays, that could
- 42:57definitely make moves. The Rays are selling a lot.
- 42:59More the Rays could be selling. They're one of those kind of
- 43:02weird fringe teams like Arrow was saying.
- 43:03There's enough AL Central teams with good farm systems too that
- 43:06can make something happen. And who could be the Tigers of
- 43:08this year and make that big second-half run?
- 43:10And, and again, I know a lot of Yankee fans are looking and, and
- 43:13again, I'm looking at Cody Bellinger and what he's doing
- 43:17right now with the Yankees, okay, and he's 282, nineteen
- 43:20runs, 58 RBI and 59 runs, Okay. You're also playing in Yankee
- 43:25Stadium. You're also playing in the short
- 43:26porch. What is he going to do in a
- 43:28playoff game? What is he going to do?
- 43:31And I don't even know if the Yankees are making the playoffs
- 43:33again. The Yankees have played terrible
- 43:35baseball. And if they're not playing team
- 43:37baseball and if they can't play defense, they can't play a lick
- 43:40of defense. This might be the worst
- 43:42defensive Yankee team I've seen in 10 years.
- 43:44That's how bad this defense is. And you have guys like Aaron
- 43:48Boone and you have guys like Jism and Bellinger coming out
- 43:51and saying that we're a quality defensive team.
- 43:53Where where's the quality? You have an old man playing at
- 43:56first base. You have a guy at Wells, and I
- 43:59like Austin Wells. I think he's a good player.
- 44:01Austin Wells was, he was a much better defensive player last
- 44:04year than he has been this year. And he's not putting up the
- 44:07offensive numbers I thought he was going to put up this year.
- 44:09I thought Austin Wells was going to hit closer to 30 home runs
- 44:12this year. Is he going to get anywhere
- 44:13close to that? Is he going to get anywhere
- 44:15close to that? I mean, Yankees fans got to
- 44:18stop. And I'm just speaking the truth
- 44:20here. If you think the Yankees are a
- 44:22World Series contender, you're on drugs.
- 44:25You're on drugs, you're you're selling something that isn't
- 44:28true. They're not.
- 44:30They're not going to be World Series champions.
- 44:33And that's why I think they should be sellers.
- 44:35If you're not going to win, what are you playing for?
- 44:38You're playing to make the playoffs.
- 44:40Good, let's play to make the playoffs again.
- 44:42How many times is that in a row for the Yankees winning?
- 44:45Are you saying are you saying sellers of?
- 44:47Like all of you. No, no, no, I'm saying or.
- 44:50I'm trade. One or two guys trade away some
- 44:52pieces and add to your farm system.
- 44:54Your farm system sucks. You'll rank 27th in baseball.
- 44:58What are we looking forward to? Spencer Jones?
- 45:02I mean, Lombardo, what are we looking forward to?
- 45:05That's the problem right now for the Yankees.
- 45:07There's nothing. And you're going to sit here and
- 45:10I, Keith, you're a Yankee fan and you know, baseball and, you
- 45:12know, beds get better. Whatever.
- 45:14You like the pitcher that got called up, Shitler?
- 45:16I, I think, I think he's going to be good, but the Yankees are
- 45:19probably going to have to trade him.
- 45:20If they're they're going to add talent, they're going to add
- 45:23talent, they're going to have to move something.
- 45:25So and you're not going to try. I don't think the Yankees are
- 45:28training Spencer Jones. I, I don't, I cannot see them
- 45:31trade to me their best power prospect we've seen since Aaron
- 45:36Judge. I can't see it.
- 45:38I, I, and he does have great stuff, Keith, I admit it.
- 45:41He he, the kid has great stuff, but he's a he's a chip that the
- 45:44Yankees are going to have to move if they want to make the
- 45:46play offs. Because the other options after
- 45:48that if they don't want to trade Jones or either him or probably
- 45:50Warren. It worries me if you're a Yankee
- 45:53fan right now and you think for one second the Yankee like the
- 45:57Mets, they have an abundance of talent in their farm system,
- 46:00abundance. They could do whatever they want
- 46:03if they want a piece. And you know, Stearns is not
- 46:05going to move these pieces unless he knows he's getting
- 46:08something special. He's just not going to say, hey,
- 46:10I'm going to trade this guy. I'm going to trade Azuna, I'm
- 46:13going to trade this guy. I'm going to trade that guy.
- 46:14He's not going to do that. He's going to he's going to sit
- 46:18and he's going to wait and he's going to see what's out there
- 46:20before the trade deadline and see what's going to be offered
- 46:23to him. Now the again, when you have
- 46:25abundance of talent like that, the Mets could sit still and
- 46:28wait until A-Team calls them and say, hey, we what do you want
- 46:32for this guy? What?
- 46:34What could you give me for this guy?
- 46:35Right. I mean multiple players too from
- 46:37the same team. Because see, the Mets have like
- 46:393 guys for each position, and two of them are young on every
- 46:43single position. So the Yankees are sitting
- 46:46there. What do they have to offer?
- 46:48Nothing. There's Spencer Jones.
- 46:50That's right. Coach Fish, let's go out and
- 46:53trade away one of the best young talents we've had since Aaron
- 46:57Judge. Let's do it, guys.
- 46:59If we get Jose Ramirez, make the move.
- 47:01If if they can get Jose Ramirez make the move, Cleveland's not
- 47:05training. They're not training him.
- 47:07They're not trading him. Not only that.
- 47:08He's there for life. He took less money on a contract
- 47:11because he loves it there. Huge bargain, I think.
- 47:13And you know, and Houston has some talent.
- 47:15Houston's never trading with the Yankees.
- 47:16The Yankees, the Yankees reached out for them, for Kyle Tucker
- 47:19and they were. They wanted top prospects to get
- 47:22Kyle Tucker. Now, Kyle Tucker is a guy that
- 47:25the Yankees are going to reach in the offseason.
- 47:27We'll see if he becomes available.
- 47:29If the Cubs gonna make sense, you see them.
- 47:30Yes, 500 I, I, I do. But how bad the Yankees are in
- 47:34their farm system? The Yankees farm system is so
- 47:36very bad right now. They're going to have to spend.
- 47:39If you say Tucker, I'm just going to play hypothetical.
- 47:41Where do you play them? Left field.
- 47:43Left field. And so 900 for a player that
- 47:46good, it shouldn't matter. Left field because John Carlo
- 47:48has one more year left and then they can move them for the extra
- 47:51year that they have so and John Carlo probably allow the Yankees
- 47:55to move him after next year so he's got two more years left so.
- 47:59When do you move judge to 1st? I don't think he could play
- 48:03first. It's like one of those.
- 48:04I don't know if what it is but I feel like 6-7 he would just
- 48:08feel. Like I think he'd be fine.
- 48:09He's very. I think he would look weird.
- 48:10I think he's very athletic. I played a lot, played with
- 48:12Richie Sexton. He was taller, yeah.
- 48:14Yeah, he was. Yeah, Richie Sexton, wasn't he
- 48:18at third base when they moved to third first base?
- 48:20Like when you kind. Of like he's probably the size
- 48:23of what Aaron judges legs. I know.
- 48:24That but I'm. Saying when you when you play
- 48:26infield, you already kind of have, you know that mindset of
- 48:30playing the infield. So move from one corner to
- 48:32another. The only thing you just gotta
- 48:33learn is your feet positioning and scooping.
- 48:36You know what? You know what I hate?
- 48:37And I'm gonna go. I'm gonna attack Keith here
- 48:40again. He's 24.
- 48:41He strikes out a lot. And that's what Fish says.
- 48:43Guess what, you got to put him out there and you got to see
- 48:46what you have. Who cares if he strikes?
- 48:48When Aaron Judge got called up, he didn't strike out as much as
- 48:50Spencer Jones, but he they said that he swings out a lot of
- 48:53pitches and he strikes out a lot.
- 48:55OK, so and Aaron Judge figured it out.
- 48:57He changed his swing. They said Spencer Jones on the
- 49:00offseason changed his swing and that's why he's hitting.
- 49:02He's hitting a lot better this year than he was last year.
- 49:04And he got moved up from in the beginning of the season.
- 49:07I think he started at single A. He went in 10 days up to AA and
- 49:11then within the half of the season he's up at AAA.
- 49:14He went really from three, three spots and now he's at he has a
- 49:19chance to make the Major League, Major League team.
- 49:22He's no Aron, OK, whatever. I'm not saying he's Aron Judge,
- 49:27but again, he's A5 tool player, which they expect him to be.
- 49:31And you're going to see here, OK, Keith, what are you going to
- 49:34do? You're going to train Spencer
- 49:35Jones. Train him for what?
- 49:37What are you going to get for Spencer Jones?
- 49:39You think you're going to get a top top level talent for him?
- 49:42What are they going to get? Well, straight up, one for one,
- 49:44nothing but. They're going to get nothing.
- 49:47Nothing one for. One, they're going to get
- 49:49nothing and the Yankees are not going to sit there and just
- 49:52straight away probably one of the best prospect power power
- 49:55prospects that they've had since our and Judge I would.
- 49:59Throw five guys and try to go after O'Neill Cruz.
- 50:02I think that's just. And put him, put him in center
- 50:05field, and there's your future center fielder.
- 50:07That's interesting. I think I would take all 5
- 50:09Shitler, Spencer Jones, Dominguez, Warren and someone
- 50:13else for O'Neill Cruz. That's interesting because his
- 50:16defensive center fielder, I mean, he hasn't.
- 50:17Been great. Then you really don't have a
- 50:19farm system. But about at least you have
- 50:21young, you have so many young manning center field.
- 50:24You know that is amazing. Once he learned to strike zone a
- 50:27little bit better, the guy hits nukes.
- 50:30Yeah, he does, Keith. And Keith says if he's so great,
- 50:32why wouldn't they get anything? And here's here's the here's the
- 50:37reason why. If he doesn't play in the major,
- 50:39he's not up at the Major League level and they don't know if he
- 50:42can hit in the Major League level, they're not going to give
- 50:44away a top chip for him. So if the Yankees think they
- 50:48have something, which I believe they do, bring them up and see
- 50:52what you have in a week. If this kick gets hot in a week
- 50:55and he hits two home runs or maybe gets a couple of double S
- 50:58and, and maybe a home run, now you have something.
- 51:01Well, this guy went up 3 levels and now he's up at the Major
- 51:04League level and he's hitting against Major League bitching.
- 51:06That's when you move them. That's when you can get yourself
- 51:10a pretty good player. You can't just sit still and say
- 51:13oh, he strikes out too much. I it's ridiculous.
- 51:16Bring the kid up and see what you have with him.
- 51:18That's, that's what I'm saying. If you don't have anything, you
- 51:21don't have anything. Dominguez was great at AAA.
- 51:23Look what he's doing in the Major League level.
- 51:25Can't stay healthy? No, that's the problem with the
- 51:29Yankees. There is no talent in their farm
- 51:33system. Not enough of it.
- 51:35Not enough of it because they're ranked 27th.
- 51:37And they've also had a prospect development issue too, just in.
- 51:40General Volpe. Volpe was a top five prospect
- 51:43when he got called up. What has Volpe done since his
- 51:46first season up in the Major League level and getting his
- 51:48Gold Glove? Crap crap torpedo.
- 51:51Take his torpedo back and shove it up his ass.
- 51:54OK? The Yankees are selling chopped
- 51:57meat. That's what it is.
- 51:59It's bad meat and I'm choking on it and I'm so tired of listening
- 52:03to goddamn Yankee fans trying to sell me.
- 52:05Well, let's use Spencer Tone as a turn chip.
- 52:09It's so ridiculous. I'm so tired of it.
- 52:13If the Yankees were a smart organization, which I do believe
- 52:17they are in some kind of way, well, trade away some of these
- 52:21pieces and get some young talent in their farm system.
- 52:24Build it up for next year. When you got Garrett Cole, Max
- 52:27Freed, Rodon Louise Hill, then you have something.
- 52:32Stop with this garbage, go in the offseason and put all your
- 52:35marbles into Kyle Tucker. That's what I would do if I were
- 52:38the Yankees. I know you shake your head, but
- 52:40they don't have any farm system. They don't.
- 52:42So they're going to have to spend if they expect to win.
- 52:46That's the way it goes. That's the way it goes.
- 52:49Keith, Keith, Before we move on, I wanted to ask Jabba, what is
- 52:52your assessment of this Yankees team?
- 52:56I mean, it's kind of up in the air, honestly.
- 52:58I mean, there's a lot of ways they could go.
- 53:01Will they go that way? I, I think you give him a shot.
- 53:05I don't, I don't know the exact right answer on when you do it.
- 53:10Do you do it before or after? See what you can get for him.
- 53:13You know, throw him out like, you know, bait on a on a hook to
- 53:16see if if anybody's doing it. But I mean, there's, there's a
- 53:19lot of a lot of ways you could go.
- 53:21Obviously they need added pitching depth and and another
- 53:24swing and miss guy out of the pen and obviously another bat.
- 53:27So it's time will tell. Is he gonna make a big move or
- 53:30is it gonna be those Rosario McMahon moves where it's like,
- 53:33hey, I did something so yeah, you can't say I didn't do
- 53:36anything. Or is it gonna be a splash?
- 53:37I don't think it'll be a splash, but hopefully he surprises.
