- 0:00Speaker 1: Yesterday I went got a Christmas tree and we went
- 0:04to the Robinson Tree Farm, of course on thirty third South.
- 0:08It's out there by the it's unfortunately it's by the
- 0:12sewage treatment plant and occasionally you'll get a little whiff
- 0:16of that. But but they're nice people. They have really
- 0:20good trees. The prices of the point, they've gone up
- 0:23this year a lot. But so we're shopping through the
- 0:26trees and usually we go earlier. I was they were
- 0:30it was kind of bear you know, there were well, yeah,
- 0:33this sold a lot of them.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Most people by now have their tree. You're late to
- 0:37the tree.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yeah, we were very quite late this year. But we
- 0:41found a very nice tree. And so as where I
- 0:45always have, the guy loaded up on top of my
- 0:47car and tie it on there with the twine, and
- 0:50he started started talking to me a little bit and
- 0:52he and it turns out he was a friend of
- 0:54the program. His name is Stuart, Stuart Ramirez and lived
- 1:00out in Tuila and he's a friend of the program.
- 1:03And he says, he said, did you did you go
- 1:06try did you go to that Robinson place up at
- 1:08the golf course up on seven.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It's a trick.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I said, no, No, I didn't fall for that
- 1:13the first year they were in there. Uh, it's been
- 1:16about five years or something like that. So this Robinson
- 1:19family tree farm used to be at the Nibley golf
- 1:22Course and they the city up the rent for them
- 1:27to use the space, and so that was too expensive.
- 1:30And this other, this other tree farm is there now
- 1:33and it's called the Robertson something, but it's close to
- 1:39it's close to the same name.
- 1:41Speaker 2: If you're not a discerning Christmas tree purchaser, you might
- 1:44not recognize it's a different place.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They're trying to trick you to believe it's it's the
- 1:49same one, but it's not. So you uh, And I
- 1:52forget how I found out that we went there, And
- 1:57I don't know. I forget how we found it. We
- 1:58didn't buy a tree. There was somebody told us, or
- 2:01I think somebody in the parking lot told us said,
- 2:03you know, you know, this isn't this isn't the Robertson family.
- 2:06This is they're out on thirty third, Robinson family. So
- 2:10we so we've been going there and and they're always
- 2:13really nice. But Stuart Ramirez, he he was he was
- 2:18worried that we had gotten tricked by them before. We said, no, Stuart,
- 2:21we didn't. And he he really likes the show and
- 2:23he was very nice and uh he and and he
- 2:28bitched about the traffic into Willa. He said, how come
- 2:31what why do you think it is that we're we're
- 2:33always getting a bad traveling. We can't get in and
- 2:36out at Willa because there's one road, there's one way
- 2:39to get Yeah. And so then but then we went
- 2:44to a dinner afterwards with the tree still of course
- 2:47tied to the top.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Oh you did someone steal your tree?
- 2:50Speaker 1: We went to Chinatown. Uh there on State Street, that
- 2:54Chinatown place, and I think Katie's got a picture of
- 2:57the it's the Chengdu Hot Pot and Barbecue. That is
- 3:02such a cool sign. And I this place is incredible.
- 3:07Have you been to it? Caring I've not been to
- 3:09the restaurant. We go shopping down there though. Yeah, that
- 3:11that it is really it's really good. Uh it is there.
- 3:16It's a set price per person and you can have
- 3:21barbecue or hot pot or both and so on your table.
- 3:25In the center there's a grill that you can grill
- 3:29meat on. And we just had the hot pot and
- 3:31then and then there are these little places with in
- 3:37front of each place, like there were four at our
- 3:39table where you get broth. They bring you the broth
- 3:43and put it in the pot and it stays hot
- 3:45because there's a heater under it, and then you go
- 3:48and pick on the Then you tell them what kind
- 3:50of meat you want, and you can get pork belly
- 3:53and beef and other stuff, and they bring that to
- 3:57the table and it's thin sliced and you throw it
- 4:00in the hot pot and it cooks really quickly. But
- 4:02then you go to this big like buffet bar, and
- 4:08there's all kinds of stuff that you can get and
- 4:10bring back and put in your hot pot. In the broth,
- 4:13there's there's crab and shrimp and various all kinds of
- 4:18vegetables and it's and it's amazing the variety of stuff
- 4:24that they have. They have a sauce bar where you
- 4:27can go, you know, soy sauce and different kinds of
- 4:29hot sauces. How many kinds of sauces, well, at least
- 4:34twenty seven at least twenty seven sauce.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Are they suitable for any meal?
- 4:38Speaker 1: I think these are only suitable for hot Oh and
- 4:43and I was just and it's a big place, and
- 4:47we got there pretty early. It's a good thing we did,
- 4:50and it was someday because as we were leaving there
- 4:55was a line out the door for this place. I
- 4:59had no idea. I mean, i'd barely even I mean,
- 5:01I didn't know it was there, and I'd never been
- 5:04to that market there either. We go to the market
- 5:06there a huge and it's got got everything. I mean,
- 5:11my god, that you just look around and go, who
- 5:13needs this much stuff? You know what I mean. It's
- 5:16like there's like twenty varieties of crackers, and it's just
- 5:21it's just it's sort of overwhelming. You do like a
- 5:23variety of crackers? Oh man, you enjoyey? I bet you
- 5:28would go there, Gina, and of the huge variety they have,
- 5:30you would not find one thing that you would like.
- 5:33It's not true, not one. This looks too strange, you
- 5:37would say, because it's all you know, it's all from it.
- 5:41Most of it. You can't read what it is. You
- 5:43kind of have to go by the pictures on it.
- 5:45If you look on the back there's an English translation sticker. Yeah,
- 5:49but this this hot pot place, I'm I'm gonna go back,
- 5:52but I'm gonna I'll go early because it's it's popular.
- 5:57And there were families there with kids and they you know,
- 5:59you could tell they've been sitting at that table for
- 6:01a long time, just going back and getting more pretty.
- 6:06It's really cool. Not enough turnover a turnover chain do
- 6:10chain do I think it's called Yeah, they're chips potato chips. No,
- 6:15they have kind of potato chips at that market. Oh,
- 6:18they have all the kick that you would like to have,
- 6:20all the kids.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Oh okay, I could find some.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they have all the very And I've done the
- 6:25hot pot before you.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And we did hot pots with uh with vegetarians mm
- 6:31hm who like I couldn't share their hot pot like
- 6:35I'm just cooking. No, you gotta have your own pot.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Do not put your you know, well you want to.
- 6:42You wouldn't want to share a pot anyway, No, you
- 6:44don't want to. You just want your own hot pot. Yeah,
- 6:46and it's that it is good for vegetarians. I mean
- 6:49there's all kinds of veggies you can put in that.
- 6:52There's a little Korean shop there where we get a
- 6:57little to go. Stuff is delicious. But all the kit
- 7:00cats and potato chips, you'd you'd be you'd be thrilled.
