- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Good next.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonya
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the
- 0:11Speaker 1: shock circuit.
- 0:11Speaker 2: And we have made it to Friday, people, twenty-sixth of June,
- 0:16Speaker 2: the final day of the school holidays, because next Monday,
- 0:20Speaker 2: it's business as usual in the schools and on the
- 0:23Speaker 2: roads here in Singapore. It's yours truly Joakim Gomez, keeping
- 0:26Speaker 2: you company. Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And for Selena Gomez, she'll be turning 34. Yes, 34
- 0:36Speaker 2: because she's 4 years younger than I am, and we
- 0:39Speaker 2: both have the same birthday, 22nd of July, and not
- 0:43Speaker 2: just for Selena, my favorite wrestler of all time, the
- 0:47Speaker 2: Heartbreak kid, Shawn Michaels. He was born 22nd July 1965.
- 0:53Speaker 2: That means, wow, is he 61 this year?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yes, he's 61 and still going strong as the general
- 1:02Speaker 2: manager and producer.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Of NXT for WWE. That's it though, in the world
- 1:07Speaker 2: of sports, if you're following the World Cup, we got
- 1:10Speaker 2: some surprise results coming in from Group E, which just
- 1:15Speaker 2: concluded Ecuador of all people beating Germany 2-1. So Ecuador
- 1:21Speaker 2: now have a chance to qualify as one of the
- 1:24Speaker 2: eight best third-place teams, and Ivory Coast beating Curacao 2-0.
- 1:30Speaker 2: So Germany still top the group on goal difference on
- 1:32Speaker 2: 6 points.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Ivory Coast also have 6 points, but they're in 2nd
- 1:36Speaker 2: place because of an inferior goal difference. Ecuador in 3rd
- 1:41Speaker 2: and Curacao have been eliminated, but of course, who can
- 1:44Speaker 2: forget Eloy Room, the goalkeeper of Curacao, pulling off 15
- 1:48Speaker 2: saves against Ecuador. Now, at 7 a.m., oh, we got
- 1:54Speaker 2: some mouth-watering clashes. Tunisia against the Netherlands, at the same time,
- 1:59Speaker 2: we got Japan against Sweden. I'll be watching the game live.
- 2:03Speaker 2: In the studio and we'll be giving you any updates
- 2:06Speaker 2: in case you're not able to tune in, especially if
- 2:08Speaker 2: you're driving on the roads here in Singapore. The weather
- 2:12Speaker 2: here in Singapore though, anything but Euro summer. It's raining,
- 2:16Speaker 2: it's thundering in some areas here in Singapore, so please,
- 2:19Speaker 2: if you're on the roads or even walking, walk safe
- 2:22Speaker 2: and drive extra safe today. Here at the one North area,
- 2:26Speaker 2: I'm guessing maybe the storm clouds could be blowing over
- 2:29Speaker 2: because it's looking very gray. That said though, something to
- 2:33Speaker 2: OK, I feel bad for laughing at this, but this
- 2:38Speaker 2: video of a fight that happened at a coffee shop
- 2:42Speaker 2: at Serangoon Central kind of tickled me.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Because it was between two ladies above the age of 60.
- 2:48Speaker 2: 1 was on a PMA and one using a walking stick. You, you,
- 2:52Speaker 2: you would think such a fight would happen at places
- 2:54Speaker 2: like Zouk or Markie, but no, it had to be
- 2:56Speaker 2: a Serangoon Central coffee shop between two ladies. We have
- 3:00Speaker 2: a reason on why the fight started. The lady with
- 3:04Speaker 2: the walking stick accused the lady on the PMA of
- 3:08Speaker 2: having an affair.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And before this situation, there were no prior disputes between
- 3:18Speaker 2: both ladies. That video is still going viral on social media.
- 3:21Speaker 2: The fight looked quite violent. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt,
- 3:25Speaker 2: but yeah, that's the reason. And again, this kind of
- 3:29Speaker 2: reason is really zu or Marquee-like. I never thought it
- 3:35Speaker 2: would happen at a coffee shop over at Serangoon. There
- 3:38Speaker 2: you go. And speaking of World Cup, wow, the Netherlands
- 3:40Speaker 2: are flying people.
- 3:42Speaker 2: It's only been 11 minutes of play. They are already
- 3:45Speaker 2: 2-0 up against Tunisia, and for Japan and Sweden, it
- 3:49Speaker 2: is still 0-0. We go from World Cup to hub
- 3:53Speaker 2: of Formula One updates happening here in Singapore very soon
- 3:57Speaker 2: in the month of October. We have new additions to
- 4:01Speaker 2: the star-studded lineup when it comes to whoever's performing for
- 4:05Speaker 2: the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix. Just announced yesterday, Janet
- 4:10Speaker 2: Jackson is coming to Singapore.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Boom.
- 4:19Speaker 2: This is a massive throwback to the 90s and even
- 4:21Speaker 2: the early 2000s people also announced Zara Larson's coming to Singapore.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And maybe for someone to lighten the mood. How about
- 4:38Speaker 2: some James Arthur? He'll be coming as well.
- 4:41Speaker 2: that
- 4:48Speaker 2: And flying the Singapore flag high, JJ Linn will be
- 4:54Speaker 2: performing for this year's F1 as well.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I think it was 2 years ago at the National Stadium,
- 5:08Speaker 2: Ed Sheeran actually brought JJ Linn out to sing this song,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and my Mandopop knowledge is very limited, but I actually
- 5:15Speaker 2: love this song from JJ Linn. So, there you go.
- 5:18Speaker 2: What a star-studded lineup joining the.
- 5:21Speaker 2: likes of Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Goo Goo Dolls. So yes,
- 5:26Speaker 2: get your tickets now and hopefully we'll see you there
- 5:28Speaker 2: for Singapore Airlines, Singapore Grand Prix weekend in the month
- 5:32Speaker 2: of October. And as of yesterday,
- 5:36Speaker 2: Famous worldwide, yours truly included, might have definitely went on
- 5:42Speaker 2: the PlayStation Store or maybe even Xbox as well, or
- 5:45Speaker 2: Steam to pre-order Grand Theft Auto 6. Now, if you
- 5:51Speaker 2: are buying the normal version, at least in the PlayStation Store,
- 5:55Speaker 2: it costs $109. If you're buying the deluxe edition that
- 6:00Speaker 2: comes with all the hidden.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Skins and all that. It costs $136. So, you know
- 6:08Speaker 2: how there's girl math and shopping math. I wanna do
- 6:11Speaker 2: some gamer math right now, OK? It's been 13 years
- 6:15Speaker 2: since the last Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 5,
- 6:18Speaker 2: and I was just thinking to myself, OK, I bought
- 6:22Speaker 2: the deluxe edition. It's $136. $136 divided by 13.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It's about $10.50. For each year, we've waited for a
- 6:34Speaker 2: brand new Grand Theft Auto. There you go. Now, my
- 6:37Speaker 2: personal favorite Grand Theft Auto is still Grand Theft Auto 4,
- 6:40Speaker 2: the one with Nico Beli. And one of the things
- 6:44Speaker 2: I love to do when playing Grand Theft Auto, aside
- 6:46Speaker 2: from blowing things up.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And finishing all the missions, it's actually listening to the
- 6:52Speaker 2: different radio stations available in the Grand Theft Auto games
- 6:56Speaker 2: because I'm just curious as to what songs they will
- 6:59Speaker 2: add in or what new songs the game might push
- 7:02Speaker 2: for the entire world to listen to. So, I'm gonna
- 7:05Speaker 2: throw you back to Grand Theft Aut.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Auto 4. This was 2008, where one of the radio
- 7:12Speaker 2: stations actually had this classic from Kanye West. Here is
- 7:15Speaker 2: Love Lockdown. I don't know how active you are on
- 7:18Speaker 2: the Singaporean social media space. Could be on TikTok or
- 7:22Speaker 2: maybe even Instagram reels, but for this past week, at
- 7:26Speaker 2: least the last four days, ever since the open audition
- 7:31Speaker 2: became a thing for our Boys to Firemen.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Loads of Singaporean content creators have posted up their own
- 7:39Speaker 2: videos of not exactly a legit audition, but more satire.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Sonia and I guilty as charged as well, but here's
- 7:49Speaker 2: the thing, OK.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I believe there's a lot of truth when it comes
- 7:54Speaker 2: to humor and satire, and my opinion is this, I
- 7:58Speaker 2: feel like Singaporean content creators, we are sort of giving
- 8:01Speaker 2: a hidden message to Mr. Jack Neo about what we
- 8:06Speaker 2: truly
- 8:06Speaker 2: Feel as industry insiders about some, not all, some of
- 8:12Speaker 2: his films because you, you never heard anyone say, I'm
- 8:16Speaker 2: going to watch a Jack New film for the acting. But, OK,
- 8:20Speaker 2: here is the flip side. If you were to poke
- 8:23Speaker 2: fun at any of the boys to, uh, sorry, our
- 8:28Speaker 2: Boys to Men movies, there we go, I almost said
- 8:30Speaker 2: our boys to Army.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Our Boys to Men movies, the cast members, and I've
- 8:35Speaker 2: seen them do this online and even in person as well.
- 8:39Speaker 2: They will come out and say, yeah, you make fun
- 8:41Speaker 2: of the movie, you make fun of our acting, but
- 8:43Speaker 2: our movies still cross the box office with millions of dollars.
- 8:49Speaker 2: And for Jack Neo, the brand and the director's name itself,
- 8:53Speaker 2: in Singapore films alone, I think he holds a lot
- 8:57Speaker 2: of box office records.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I think his movies are all in the top 10
- 9:01Speaker 2: when it comes to local films grossing over millions of
- 9:05Speaker 2: dollars in the box office. So, for Jack Neo, he
- 9:08Speaker 2: has a little bit of a dilemma, maybe, or I'm
- 9:12Speaker 2: just speculating here. Number 1, does he stick to his
- 9:15Speaker 2: guns and give the audience here in Singapore what they
- 9:19Speaker 2: are familiar with and what they've come to expect for
- 9:22Speaker 2: every single Jack New film? Or number 2,
- 9:25Speaker 2: He sees all these satire audition videos and maybe he realizes, OK,
- 9:30Speaker 2: it's time I evolved my style, but he might risk
- 9:35Speaker 2: losing a core group of the audience that will gladly
- 9:39Speaker 2: go see his movies because they're so used to his style.
- 9:42Speaker 2: So I think that's the question maybe people over at
- 9:45Speaker 2: JTeam and MM2 could be asking themselves, but I gotta say,
- 9:49Speaker 2: some of these satire auditions are hilarious, but
- 9:52Speaker 2: I have seen some very good auditions from people who
- 9:56Speaker 2: are taking it very seriously. The acting is good, and
- 10:00Speaker 2: it's not the kind of acting you see on Singapore
- 10:02Speaker 2: television or even on the silver screens when it comes
- 10:05Speaker 2: to anything local. It's actually good, so I hope the
- 10:08Speaker 2: right people get casted for uh Boys to Firemen, and
- 10:11Speaker 2: that's a good story.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Storyline behind it as well. Let's find out next year.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Our Boys to Firemen 2027. That's the hashtag. And for
- 10:20Speaker 2: the Formula One Singapore Airlines, Singapore Grand Prix, it's DJ Snake.
- 10:24Speaker 2: This song featuring Justin Bieber, Let Me Love You. Wanna
- 10:27Speaker 2: throw you back to Ultra Music Festival. I think it
- 10:30Speaker 2: was in 2015 or was it
- 10:32Speaker 2: In 2016, when he was one of the headlining DJs,
- 10:36Speaker 2: before he pressed play on this song, he said, Singapore,
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm not gonna play you the number one song in
- 10:42Speaker 2: the world, and he plays it. What a proud man
- 10:45Speaker 2: that guy is. Rightly so, and he'll be here in
- 10:47Speaker 2: Singapore very soon for Formula One, so hopefully you get
- 10:50Speaker 2: your tickets already. That said though, in the world of sport, OK,
- 10:54Speaker 2: before that, this is all about getting credit for the
- 10:59Speaker 2: work that you do.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And the way I'm gonna deliver it to you, it'll
- 11:03Speaker 2: be a little bit outdated already because the credit has
- 11:06Speaker 2: been given. But imagine this, you are a freelance photographer.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You are able to score yourself a chance to go
- 11:13Speaker 2: shoot for the FIFA World Cup. Wanna give a shout
- 11:15Speaker 2: out to local photographer, Mundo on Instagram.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Because he's been there shooting all sorts of fantastic football pictures.
- 11:22Speaker 2: He does it for the local sporting scene as well,
- 11:25Speaker 2: and he got a fantastic shot of Cristiano Ronaldo after
- 11:29Speaker 2: he scored his first goal against Uzbekistan, celebrating with his team,
- 11:34Speaker 2: and you can see the look of determination and passion
- 11:37Speaker 2: on Ronaldo's face as he was hugging his teammates. Mundo
- 11:40Speaker 2: was able to get a shot and that picture was
- 11:43Speaker 2: used by
- 11:45Speaker 2: Cristiano Ronaldo himself, 669 million followers on Instagram, and that
- 11:52Speaker 2: picture as it stands has 9.5 million likes on Instagram, OK?
- 12:00Speaker 2: The reason why I said that the way I
- 12:02Speaker 2: deliver it to you will be outdated. It's because Ronaldo's
- 12:05Speaker 2: social media team, I don't think it's Ronaldo himself. Ronaldo's
- 12:09Speaker 2: social media team has actually added the photo credit that
- 12:13Speaker 2: Mundo was the one that shot it. So, Mundo, you
- 12:15Speaker 2: know what? Well done to you, buddy. Hopefully, this gets you.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Plenty of opportunities.
- 12:23Speaker 2: But the photo credit was only added after loads of
- 12:28Speaker 2: people were saying it's Mundo's picture. They were tagging Mundo
- 12:31Speaker 2: and Ronaldo. Even Mundo himself said, hey, Ronaldo, let's talk
- 12:34Speaker 2: about a rake, shall we? I think it was tongue
- 12:37Speaker 2: in cheek, but here's my question for you this morning.
- 12:40Speaker 2: OK. 669-119-87 or you can WhatsApp us at 90050987. It's
- 12:48Speaker 2: all about getting credit for the work that you do.
- 12:51Speaker 2: If if someone as famous as Ronaldo uses your work
- 12:57Speaker 2: without crediting you.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Would you let it slide because it's Ronaldo and people
- 13:02Speaker 2: would more or less ask, hey, who shot the picture?
- 13:05Speaker 2: And then your name might get mentioned and maybe it
- 13:07Speaker 2: might open doors for you, or you don't care whether
- 13:10Speaker 2: it's Ronaldo, Elon Musk, or whichever popular celebrity, you want
- 13:15Speaker 2: that credit so that at least people acknowledge your work.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Not just photography, but anything in the office, in F&B,
- 13:23Speaker 2: in any sector as well.
- 13:25Speaker 2: What about the credit for the work that you do?
- 13:28Speaker 2: If we do like your answer, what's coming your way,
- 13:30Speaker 2: of course, a very nice pair of tickets. All thanks
- 13:32Speaker 2: to our friends over at Glow Festival happening July 17th, 18th,
- 13:37Speaker 2: and 19th. So, get the calls coming in 669-11987 or
- 13:42Speaker 2: you can WhatsApp us at 90050987. Has anyone not given
- 13:48Speaker 2: you credit for the work that you do? Giving you
- 13:50Speaker 2: some
- 13:50Speaker 2: Score updates. Anthony Ilanga just scored an ultimate worldie for
- 13:56Speaker 2: Sweden against Japan. So it's Sweden 1, Japan 1, Tunisia 1,
- 14:02Speaker 2: Netherlands 2. Some amazing games happening right now, but in
- 14:06Speaker 2: the world of football, in case you missed it earlier,
- 14:10Speaker 2: there is a Singaporean photographer who goes by the Instagram
- 14:13Speaker 2: handle Mundo on Instagram and on TikTok maybe even.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And he got a very nice shot of Cristiano Ronaldo,
- 14:20Speaker 2: so he has a freelance World Cup pass to go
- 14:23Speaker 2: shoot amazing pictures. Ronaldo's social media team actually used that picture.
- 14:28Speaker 2: So I'm giving you a little bit of a dated
- 14:29Speaker 2: delivery because uh the picture was posted on
- 14:33Speaker 2: Ronaldo's account, so far it's got 9.5 million likes, but
- 14:37Speaker 2: there was no photographer's credit. So people were saying, hey,
- 14:41Speaker 2: you know, it's Mundo's picture, credit him, credit him, and
- 14:44Speaker 2: kudos to Ronaldo's social media team. They edit the photo credits.
- 14:47Speaker 2: So Mundo, hopefully this opens doors for you, but
- 14:51Speaker 2: We are on the topic of people giving you credit
- 14:53Speaker 2: for your work. Has it happened to you or has
- 14:56Speaker 2: it not happened to you? Wanna go to WhatsApp right
- 14:59Speaker 2: now and say good morning to Francis. Francis, you say,
- 15:03Speaker 2: hey Joe, I spent weeks putting together a presentation and
- 15:07Speaker 2: during the meeting, my boss presented it as if he
- 15:10Speaker 2: come up with the whole thing. I was just sitting
- 15:13Speaker 2: there thinking, uh, hello, I exist. Oh no.
- 15:17Speaker 2: One coming in from Jolene. Jolene says, hey Joakim, in university,
- 15:21Speaker 2: I was the person who carried the entire group project. Then,
- 15:25Speaker 2: when we got an A, one group member posted a
- 15:27Speaker 2: line saying, hard work pays off.
- 15:33Speaker 2: And you are just thinking to yourself, whose hard work? Who?
- 15:37Speaker 2: And we've got more calls and texts coming in. I
- 15:40Speaker 2: got one from a K-pop fan, which I'll read to
- 15:43Speaker 2: you in just a bit here on the Shock circuit.
- 15:45Speaker 2: If you just joined us on this Friday morning, having
- 15:47Speaker 2: a discussion about getting credit for the work that you do.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So again, shout out to local photographer Mundo, who does
- 15:53Speaker 2: loads of sports photography. He's at the World Cup right
- 15:56Speaker 2: now with a freelance FIFA World Cup pass to be
- 15:59Speaker 2: able to
- 15:59Speaker 2: Shoot all these very nice pictures. So, he's not hired
- 16:02Speaker 2: by FIFA directly. He's not getting paid by FIFA. He
- 16:06Speaker 2: just got the accreditation to go and shoot pictures and
- 16:08Speaker 2: maybe he could use it for his own portfolio. Ronaldo,
- 16:11Speaker 2: Cristiano Ronaldo of all people, used this photo, and I
- 16:15Speaker 2: don't think it's Ronaldo himself directly. It could be social
- 16:17Speaker 2: media team that posted the picture without the photographer's credit first,
- 16:21Speaker 2: but
- 16:22Speaker 2: Uh, the latest update is, yes, Mundo's tag is there.
- 16:25Speaker 2: So yeah, 669 million followers. Hopefully this opens plenty of
- 16:30Speaker 2: doors for Mundo and the local photographers here that we
- 16:33Speaker 2: have in Singapore. But the question is, has anyone not
- 16:37Speaker 2: given you credit for the work that you do? How
- 16:39Speaker 2: did you react to it? Wanna say good morning to
- 16:41Speaker 2: LY on WhatsApp. Hey, Joakim, in K-pop fandom, we have
- 16:46Speaker 2: this video recording of the artist we like to term Fcamp.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I'm a K-pop concertgoer for a long time and often
- 16:52Speaker 2: my works of fancas got stolen, re-uploaded to snippets on TikTok, Instagram,
- 16:59Speaker 2: without credits to me. They don't know how hard at
- 17:01Speaker 2: times I go through, like tiptoeing among the crowd to
- 17:04Speaker 2: get a good shot, keep adjusting the lighting and zoom
- 17:07Speaker 2: to have a perfect shot. People need to respect and
- 17:09Speaker 2: understand how hard it is for me, and at least
- 17:11Speaker 2: give me the credit. Well, thank you very much for
- 17:13Speaker 2: sharing that LOY. I hope you get the credit you deserve.
- 17:16Speaker 2: One text.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Coming in from Ash. Hey Joakim, the Ronaldo picture was
- 17:20Speaker 2: handled brilliantly. Don't waste time, just get it up there.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Recognize the photographer once the pic is authenticated by the
- 17:27Speaker 2: media team. As a content creator, you gotta be balanced
- 17:30Speaker 2: about it. You must not be too precious, especially when
- 17:32Speaker 2: it's just one photo like this. But continual abuse of
- 17:35Speaker 2: your work needs to be chased down, recognized and paid for. I,
- 17:39Speaker 2: I agree, but I, I'm on the fence about doing
- 17:42Speaker 2: things for exposure. Again.
- 17:45Speaker 2: If I was the photographer and I got my photo
- 17:48Speaker 2: featured on Ronaldo's account without the credit to me, I
- 17:52Speaker 2: might actually drop them a DM and I hope they
- 17:55Speaker 2: notice because I want my name there. Hey, I shot it.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Hopefully this opens doors for me as well when it
- 18:01Speaker 2: comes to future work. Keep your calls and texts coming
- 18:03Speaker 2: in again if you do like your answer, what's coming in.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Way, a very nice experience, the GLOW Festival for two
- 18:09Speaker 2: worth over $200 happening July 17th, 18th, and 19th. On
- 18:15Speaker 2: the topic of not getting credit for the work that
- 18:18Speaker 2: you do. Has it ever happened to you? 669-11987 or
- 18:23Speaker 2: WhatsApp us at 90050988.
- 18:26Speaker 2: a bit of a WhatsApp heavy one today. I want
- 18:28Speaker 2: to say good morning to Jing Xuan, who says, Hey Joe,
- 18:31Speaker 2: I stayed back every night to make sure our event
- 18:34Speaker 2: went smoothly. Everything went perfectly and the next day, everyone
- 18:39Speaker 2: was praising the person who was on stage. Meanwhile, the
- 18:42Speaker 2: people behind the scenes did not even get a mention. I.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm so sorry this happened to you, Jing Shen, and
- 18:49Speaker 2: that's why I was an MC for any event. I always,
- 18:52Speaker 2: always thank the backstage crew, the organizing committee, and especially
- 18:56Speaker 2: the sound crew for making sure that I sound good
- 18:59Speaker 2: and there are no audio mess ups. Wanna say hello
- 19:02Speaker 2: to anonymous texter. Hey, Joakim, keep me anonymous. I can.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Usually share an idea with someone over coffee. A few
- 19:10Speaker 2: weeks later, they pitched the exact same idea in a meeting.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Everyone loved it and somehow I became the person hearing
- 19:17Speaker 2: about their brilliant idea. Oh no! This is why when
- 19:21Speaker 2: it comes to ideas or anything, I'm very careful with
- 19:24Speaker 2: who I share it because if not,
- 19:26Speaker 2: I guess all of us, before we share ideas, we're
- 19:28Speaker 2: gonna sign a lawyer's letter of NDA or whatsoever. Yay.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Some World Cup updates coming your way. It ends Japan 1,
- 19:36Speaker 2: Sweden 1, Japan finishing 2nd, Sweden finishing 3rd. Sweden still
- 19:41Speaker 2: could qualify for the round of 32, and Netherlands 3.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Tunisia won, so congrats to those teams. That group done
- 19:49Speaker 2: and dusted. We've got another game happening at maybe say
- 19:52Speaker 2: 10:00 a.m. But for today's winner of the topic that
- 19:56Speaker 2: we discussed earlier about not getting credit for the work
- 19:59Speaker 2: that you do, I wanna give it to the anonymous
- 20:02Speaker 2: texter who shared about her dating life. Thank you so
- 20:05Speaker 2: much for that.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Sharing how your ex-boyfriend is now taking your ideas.
- 20:15Speaker 2: To go to all the places that you actually showed
- 20:18Speaker 2: him on where to go, where to eat and all that.
- 20:21Speaker 2: So what's coming your way? A very nice experience. All
- 20:24Speaker 2: thanks to our friends over at Glow Festival. And look,
- 20:27Speaker 2: it's happening from July 10th all the way to July 19th,
- 20:31Speaker 2: proudly brought to you by Prudential, but we want you
- 20:34Speaker 2: there from 17th, 18th, and 19th July.
- 20:38Speaker 2: The passes are worth almost $200. You're gonna catch acts
- 20:42Speaker 2: like Jason Derulo, Alessia Cara, and Korean indie band Huko.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And if you love your wellness and maybe say yoga
- 20:50Speaker 2: and everything involving your body, mind and soul, these names
- 20:54Speaker 2: will be of no stranger to you. We're talking of
- 20:57Speaker 2: Joe Wicks, Chantelle Duncan, and Emmy Wong.
- 21:01Speaker 2: More tickets and information available at glowfestival.sg, but to the
- 21:06Speaker 2: anonymous texter, we have your details. You are going courtesy
- 21:09Speaker 2: of us here on the Shark circuit. And we've got
- 21:11Speaker 2: some updates. It's almost as if this entire week was
- 21:13Speaker 2: brought to you by the film Dear You. Yup.
- 21:16Speaker 2: was up for debate over the whole dialect against Mandarin screenings,
- 21:20Speaker 2: the dialect of Teochew. Happy to say that an additional
- 21:25Speaker 2: 50 screenings of the film Dear You in Teochew have
- 21:30Speaker 2: been approved. So well done.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah,
- 21:36Speaker 2: This, of course, I think in a joint media reply
- 21:39Speaker 2: from the IMDA and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information,
- 21:44Speaker 2: recognizing strong interest in the film, noting that both its
- 21:48Speaker 2: Teochew and Mandarin screenings have attracted wide audiences. So I
- 21:53Speaker 2: think the cinemas are gonna work out when to screen
- 21:55Speaker 2: it and when the screenings in Teochew will happen. I'm
- 21:58Speaker 2: equally curious about the film now. I just wanna watch
- 22:01Speaker 2: it in Teoche for the sake of it.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm definitely down to enjoy this film, Dear You,
- 22:06Speaker 2: and maybe hopefully it happens in a cinema near me.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I think it's Junction 8, the nearest for me. Now,
- 22:11Speaker 2: I don't know if you realized, but here on 987,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I've been doing daily World Cup updates for you, not
- 22:16Speaker 2: just here on the shock circuit, but also something that
- 22:19Speaker 2: we call your 987 World Cup linkup. But I wanna
- 22:23Speaker 2: give you a bit of an extra one right now
- 22:25Speaker 2: because here are some of the confirmed knockout round.
- 22:29Speaker 2: games that are happening next week. So, on Monday, 29th
- 22:35Speaker 2: of June at 3 a.m., what's confirmed is South Africa
- 22:40Speaker 2: against Canada. All the best. Tuesday, 30th of June at
- 22:45Speaker 2: 1 a.m. What a cracker of a game we're gonna have.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Brazil against Japan. And if you follow Japan's friendlies, you
- 22:55Speaker 2: would know that the
- 22:56Speaker 2: Actually beat Brazil quite recently. Will the same result happen again?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Japan looking very strong for this World Cup, and on
- 23:04Speaker 2: Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Netherlands against Morocco for the
- 23:10Speaker 2: round of 32. Next Monday on the shock circuit, it's
- 23:15Speaker 2: gonna be interesting. Sonia's back, firstly, but we also have
- 23:18Speaker 2: a very special interview brought to you by our friends
- 23:21Speaker 2: over at Pfizer.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I wanna ask you this question first. Without using chat GPT,
- 23:28Speaker 2: are you able to tell the difference between a headache
- 23:32Speaker 2: and a migraine?
- 23:33Speaker 2: I think here in Singapore, we use these words a
- 23:36Speaker 2: bit loosely, like once in a while, we'll say, wow,
- 23:38Speaker 2: give me migraine, man, this one. Like, do we really
- 23:41Speaker 2: know the difference and what are the signs to look
- 23:45Speaker 2: out for? So next Monday, we actually have adjunct associate
- 23:49Speaker 2: Professor Jonathan Ong, who's the senior consultant neurologist at the
- 23:53Speaker 2: National University Health System. He will be in our studio
- 23:58Speaker 2: to give us tips on how to spot a headache
- 24:00Speaker 2: and how to spot a
- 24:01Speaker 2: Migraine and what ways we can do to take to
- 24:04Speaker 2: hopefully prevent it or to seek a cure because these
- 24:07Speaker 2: two are very, very different. So next Monday, you can
- 24:11Speaker 2: join us live on air at just past 9:00 a.m.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And now, aside from World Cup fever, Formula One, the
- 24:17Speaker 2: action is slowly building to Singapore in the month of October.
- 24:22Speaker 2: If I'm not wrong, I think it's the Austrian Grand
- 24:24Speaker 2: Prix this weekend, so all the best to your favorite team.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Come on, Cadillac. Aiyo.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I'm rooting for you guys. It's gotten to the point
- 24:32Speaker 2: now where for every race that happens, I just tell myself,
- 24:36Speaker 2: as long as the Cadillacs beat the Aston Martins, I'm
- 24:39Speaker 2: very happy. But for Singapore, we've got some new names
- 24:42Speaker 2: added into the list of performers. How about some Janet Jackson?
- 24:53Speaker 2: Really a 90s and early 2000s throwback, and maybe for
- 24:57Speaker 2: someone current, how about some Zara Larson coming to Singapore
- 25:00Speaker 2: as well?
- 25:10Speaker 2: James Arthur will be in town as well.
- 25:13Speaker 2: loved you.
- 25:16Speaker 2: That's the kind of song where you hold a cup
- 25:18Speaker 2: of beer, hold your partner, or hold your friends, just
- 25:21Speaker 2: sing it out loud at the padang if he's performing there,
- 25:24Speaker 2: and JJ Lin flying the Singapore flag high.
- 25:37Speaker 2: OK, look, I know JJ Linn has other Mandarin songs,
- 25:40Speaker 2: but my Mandar pop knowledge is quite limited, so this
- 25:42Speaker 2: is the only song I know because I've heard this
- 25:45Speaker 2: sung many times at KTVs and Chinese karaoke bars, as
- 25:49Speaker 2: well as 2 years ago, Ed Sheeran brought JJ Linn
- 25:53Speaker 2: up on stage at the National Stadium to sing this song.
