- 1:09Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 1:15Speaker 3: When we were backstage, I heard just sounding it out.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I do the same thing.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You shouldn't even see what I wrote down.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Oh man, it's a tough word. I don't blame you.
- 1:34Speaker 3: It's not though.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I have to sound it out there.
- 1:42Speaker 5: There you go, It's all right. How you guys been.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Good?
- 1:47Speaker 3: Good?
- 1:48Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:48Speaker 2: We just went to the county fair last yesterday. Yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 2: my my oldest son Dylan and his girlfriend Lily and
- 1:56Speaker 2: I we went to the demolition derby.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I had never been to a demolition they'd never been
- 2:01Speaker 1: to a demolition derby.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 1: If I had been to a demolition derby, I was.
- 2:05Speaker 1: I was a toddler. But it was a lot of fun.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It was like I said, they'd never been to one,
- 2:13Speaker 2: and I didn't like the last few years they had
- 2:17Speaker 2: been like, yeah, no, demolition derby doesn't sound like fun.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And we got there and we're watching it and I'm
- 2:23Speaker 2: looking over at them both and they're.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Both just like, oh wow, this is great. It's a
- 2:27Speaker 1: lot of fun.
- 2:29Speaker 6: And we kind of had our own demolition derby last night.
- 2:34Speaker 5: So it was my brother's birthday, huh and uh.
- 2:38Speaker 6: He's forty four, but he's got down center monatism, so
- 2:41Speaker 6: it's like a big little kid.
- 2:43Speaker 5: And uh.
- 2:44Speaker 6: We had a Piniana for him and my sister, and
- 2:47Speaker 6: my sister's very granoli, very hippie.
- 2:50Speaker 5: So she with a lot of fruits. Thinking the kids
- 2:54Speaker 5: want fruits.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Right, Oh yeah, as every kid does.
- 2:57Speaker 5: As every kid does.
- 2:59Speaker 3: But you alive about apples and Halloween.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, that kind of thing.
- 3:04Speaker 6: So the thing is, my brother has the strength of
- 3:08Speaker 6: a man because he's forty four years old and he's
- 3:12Speaker 6: gonna bust his own benat So when it's his turn,
- 3:17Speaker 6: he grabs the damn thing because he doesn't want it
- 3:19Speaker 6: moving on him.
- 3:20Speaker 5: And he just beats this thing over and over again, right, and.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You like you like it?
- 3:27Speaker 5: Chunks of fruit flying.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Out of fruit salad everywhere.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Yes, it's gonna be four kids later slipping on fruit
- 3:38Speaker 6: trying to grab the prices.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I love it.
- 3:42Speaker 5: It's amazing.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Well, let's not forget it's not just his birthday yesterday,
- 3:48Speaker 2: but this is his birthday. You know, September is his
- 3:50Speaker 2: birthday month.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Well, today's actual birthday.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Today's actual birthday. Right, so it ends today, but we
- 3:57Speaker 1: but we okay, it ends today, So but we still
- 4:00Speaker 1: celebrate his birthday month.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Right, that's right, that's right. Last week he made us
- 4:04Speaker 5: take him to Typhood.
- 4:05Speaker 6: This week with the party, let's see what happens.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I like the cut of this guy's jib.
- 4:11Speaker 5: It's pretty good. It's a pretty good bit. Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Anyway, Dan, how you do it?
- 4:22Speaker 3: It's been a week.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It's been a week. Yeah, it's been a week for everybody.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it has been for sure.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Yeah, Well should we should we get into the news
- 4:35Speaker 6: and the insanity.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Let's do it, all right, Star Trek news.
- 4:43Speaker 6: All right, so our first news story comes to us
- 4:46Speaker 6: from the Hollywood Reporter. And remember, kids, that Paramount has
- 4:52Speaker 6: said that Star Trek was going to be a priority.
- 4:54Speaker 6: But I keep telling you, guys, what they say and
- 4:57Speaker 6: what they do are two different things. Watch what they do,
- 5:00Speaker 6: not what they say. So they've created a new sports division.
- 5:05Speaker 6: It's gonna be led by Jesse Siggled and uh, they're
- 5:10Speaker 6: gonna do all sorts of sports on the Paramounts now
- 5:14Speaker 6: that they bought that UFC contract for the next ten
- 5:18Speaker 6: years or whatever it is. So a lot of sports
- 5:23Speaker 6: are coming to Paramounts.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Yeah. So they're talking about they're talking about buying, buying
- 5:32Speaker 4: WB buying Warner Brothers. This sounds to me, those two
- 5:37Speaker 4: stories together, Yeah, sounds to me like they're trying to
- 5:41Speaker 4: rival Disney, because doesn't Disney.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Own ESPN at the point they do.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so that's what this sounds like to me.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Yeah, Oh, they absolutely are. Oh well, look there's Max.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Greetings from Ireland.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Nice, what's up?
- 5:56Speaker 5: What's going on? Yeah? Another ship on the Barbie.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah right, that's Australia. But you know, I was about
- 6:07Speaker 1: to claim that I've been to Ireland, but I didn't
- 6:09Speaker 1: want to sound ridiculous because I did it. I had
- 6:11Speaker 1: a lay over there once.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Yeah, so they're gonna developed all sorts of you know,
- 6:21Speaker 6: live sports and programming and unscripted sports. They do have
- 6:26Speaker 6: a background. Sky Dance does have a background in sports.
- 6:29Speaker 6: They've done some shows for Netflix that are sports based,
- 6:32Speaker 6: so it's not sports.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, So so like American Ninja Warrior type stuff, probably
- 6:41Speaker 1: is all sports unscripted.
- 6:43Speaker 5: I mean it depends on who you ask.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Yeah, every year at the Super Bowl there's you know,
- 6:49Speaker 6: Reddit and and uh in Twitter, you get filled with
- 6:53Speaker 6: the script for the Super.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Bowl, right right, I'm not sports like you know, everybody
- 7:00Speaker 2: can turn on ESPN five and see, like, you know,
- 7:05Speaker 2: the the National Cornhole Competition or whatever, you know. And
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm not saying I don't like cornhall. I love corn hole,
- 7:11Speaker 2: but is it the kind of stuff we're gonna be
- 7:13Speaker 2: seeing on Paramount Plus.
- 7:15Speaker 5: You keep saying that you want to do a cornhole
- 7:17Speaker 5: episode too, don't you.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'd love to do let's do a corn whole episode,
- 7:21Speaker 1: that's right.
- 7:23Speaker 2: You know what I've just decided the next I've been
- 7:26Speaker 2: trying to figure out what what I've made.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Some Uh, I made a Michigan themed cornhole.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I made uh like Army and Harley themed cornhole boards.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Before I think I'm gonna make a star Trek.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I'm saying cornhole has another meeting.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Do you not like the sport of cornhole? Corn Hole's
- 7:47Speaker 1: really big right now?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah you're not? Do you not tossing your sack to
- 7:55Speaker 2: the cornhole? It's really big here in the Midwest.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Cornwall, Uh, I know, I know it is, but I
- 8:03Speaker 3: can't help. But wonder who who picked that name for
- 8:06Speaker 3: the game.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Obviously somebody who something else.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Very gentlemen.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Yeah, corn hole, I mean it's it's a you know,
- 8:17Speaker 1: it's a bag of corn that you throw. Yeah, I mean,
- 8:22Speaker 1: what are you trying to turn the show into, Dan,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know.
- 8:29Speaker 5: All right, So yeah, so they're gonna try to listens.
- 8:33Speaker 1: To the show Dan.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Do you see office space? Yeah? Okay.
- 8:40Speaker 4: When Peter is about to go to jail, his neighbors
- 8:43Speaker 4: is Peter, watch your corn hole, Bunny.
- 8:49Speaker 3: That's the advice before you go to prison.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe maybe play the game in the
- 8:54Speaker 1: corn hoole in prison in Okay where they talk toss
- 9:01Speaker 1: tossed bags into court holes.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Oh yeah, alright, it happens, all right, yes.
- 9:11Speaker 1: We need a chord hole. Rough. Okay, time out cast
- 9:15Speaker 1: Chess BIS, where are you at?
- 9:19Speaker 5: Oh god?
- 9:21Speaker 6: So our next new story comes from from Comic Book
- 9:23Speaker 6: Resources CBR, and we are getting an update on a
- 9:28Speaker 6: potential Captain Kirk spinoff show. You guys heard about this
- 9:33Speaker 6: that they want to make a Kirk spinoff show, no.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Show about Captain Kirk. I think it's called Star Dark.
- 9:41Speaker 6: Yeah, they want to do a show before he takes
- 9:45Speaker 6: command of the Enterprise, and they want to call it
- 9:47Speaker 6: Star Trek Year one.
- 9:51Speaker 3: But it's not year one.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Right, and it's not even Kirk's year one, you know,
- 10:00Speaker 5: I know, you know.
- 10:00Speaker 4: This reminds me of This reminds me of when Rogue
- 10:04Speaker 4: Won came and it was like, oh, is this the
- 10:09Speaker 4: first one? No, No, it's actually the it's actually like
- 10:13Speaker 4: the seventh one.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, right, who's idea is this?
- 10:23Speaker 6: So it would be Secret Hideouts, which is Alex Kurtzman's company.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Apparently they are working on a you know, on a pitch,
- 10:33Speaker 6: and they're just excited to do Start Trek Year one.
- 10:38Speaker 6: It would all be about Kirk and is leading up
- 10:41Speaker 6: to running the enterprise.
- 10:43Speaker 5: That's all we know about it. They're they're working on it.
- 10:47Speaker 5: It may or may not happen. Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 2: What's rolling around in my head is what the mentality
- 10:55Speaker 2: is of the of the showrunners and why God, I
- 10:59Speaker 2: hate to beat it dead horse, but why.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Are they not?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Why doesn't anybody have the finger on the pulse of
- 11:03Speaker 2: the fan base. You know, we've got people screaming legacy. Yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 2: and then and then the show runners is Kirtsman Company
- 11:11Speaker 2: is just like, oh, you want what you want?
- 11:14Speaker 1: What?
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay, let's let's go in the opposite direction of that, right, right,
- 11:20Speaker 2: So so you want you don't want to show about Kirk.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You don't want to show that's set in this timeframe.
- 11:24Speaker 2: That's what we're going to do. Yeah, nobody's asking for
- 11:27Speaker 2: a show about Kirk.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Nobody's asking for that show.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Kirk's been done, yeah, many times by many green women.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Done. We want to show that's set in the early
- 11:39Speaker 1: twenty fifth century. That's what everybody wants.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I know, I know, but this, this is what
- 11:45Speaker 6: they want to give us. So that's annoying.
- 11:48Speaker 2: They want to give us twenty second century, they want
- 11:50Speaker 2: to give us thirty first century.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But nothing in the picard time like okay.
- 11:56Speaker 6: Nope, all right, all right, And our last news story
- 12:01Speaker 6: comes to us today from trekmovie dot com. And now
- 12:06Speaker 6: that the sky Dance Paramount merger has kind of settled
- 12:10Speaker 6: and they're making their plans and they're doing their things,
- 12:13Speaker 6: you wouldn't believe it, but Zachary Quinto has begun beating
- 12:18Speaker 6: the drum for Star Trek four.
- 12:21Speaker 5: And he has.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Gone on to say that, hey, you know, now that
- 12:24Speaker 6: the merger is done, I think it's time to revisit
- 12:28Speaker 6: Star Trek.
- 12:29Speaker 5: It's been ten years since the last movie. Let's do it.
- 12:33Speaker 5: He's ready to go.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I think I think Zach has.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Spent all his Star Trek three money. I think that's
- 12:39Speaker 3: what's happening.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I get that really.
- 12:42Speaker 6: I mean, he's on some network shows. He's making money.
- 12:45Speaker 6: It's not broke, but you know.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Maybe he has a gambling addiction.
- 12:50Speaker 5: That would be logical.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I mean, raise your hands if you've been clamoring for
- 12:57Speaker 1: a Star Trek four.
- 13:00Speaker 5: I kind of feel like Startrey three was a natural ending.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It was, it was fine.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It was it can be its own thing. It's just
- 13:06Speaker 2: his own, standalone thing that doesn't need to be kicking
- 13:09Speaker 2: it was great. I love the Star Trek JJ trilogy.
- 13:14Speaker 2: It's its own little standalone thing.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you know, it's like kind of like The
- 13:19Speaker 1: Batman if they kept the Batman as the Batman was
- 13:22Speaker 1: great as its own standalone thing. It's over there, Okay.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's gonna be an other world. It'll be great.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I mean, let's just keep it over there where it belongs,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you know.
- 13:35Speaker 6: I mean, if Zacharykonna just wants to cut his hair
- 13:37Speaker 6: into a bull cut, that's fine. You know, he doesn't
- 13:40Speaker 6: have to do the movie. You can just go to
- 13:42Speaker 6: Super cuts, gig a bowl.
- 13:44Speaker 5: It'll be fine.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I mean, let's upgrade super you can use.
- 13:53Speaker 6: I would love to see his Spock interview Evan Pex
- 13:58Speaker 6: Spock in character.
- 14:01Speaker 5: That would be fascinating as a joke, as like a
- 14:03Speaker 5: joke bit.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that'd be great. It'd be funny, great. Yeah. And
- 14:09Speaker 1: there's a ton of websites that could make that happen.
- 14:11Speaker 1: There's a ton of like, you.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Know, a lot of a lot of AI sites.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Well no, no, no, I'm talking about there's a lot of
- 14:22Speaker 2: studios like webs like like.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, like college humor or something like that.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Right, that's the college humor is what I was thinking of.
- 14:28Speaker 1: But there's a lot of there's a lot of websites
- 14:30Speaker 1: that have the resources and the connections that could make
- 14:33Speaker 1: that happen.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a studio Go Paramount that could make that happen.
- 14:38Speaker 2: They're the ones that do the Star Trek stuff, right,
- 14:42Speaker 2: I believe so yeah, okay, yeah that would be fun.
- 14:45Speaker 5: They could put it right over an episode of Star
- 14:47Speaker 5: Trek Scouts.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't watch that, by the way.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Oh I watched it. We got to talk about it. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 5: Wills do's I prefer the pine Quinto version of Kirk Smock. Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 5: You know what, they did have a pretty good chemistry
- 15:03Speaker 5: they did.
- 15:04Speaker 2: They did because I haven't seen that chemistry yet in
- 15:07Speaker 2: Strange New Worlds, and I don't think we're maybe we're
- 15:09Speaker 2: not meant to see it quite yet.
- 15:11Speaker 4: I think this episode is supposed to show then and
- 15:17Speaker 4: why hyeah.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I like the little meme going around of it's it's
- 15:23Speaker 1: it's it's.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Supposed to be a movie or a TV show like, uh,
- 15:27Speaker 2: poster and it's Pike and he's and it's basically like,
- 15:30Speaker 2: why is Kirk on my ship?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Again?
- 15:33Speaker 2: Cause they keep coming up with these reasons why you
- 15:37Speaker 2: know this the first officer of the Farragut, you know,
- 15:40Speaker 2: is odd the Enterprise again and again, and like why
- 15:44Speaker 2: is it even? My wife and I were watching the episode,
- 15:47Speaker 2: and she's like, if there's this crisis and and the
- 15:51Speaker 2: captain needs to reach out, why would the first officer
- 15:54Speaker 2: be talking to the Enterprise the Enterprise. Why isn't of
- 15:57Speaker 2: the of the Farragut talking, you know?
- 16:00Speaker 6: And they showed the captain of the ferry gud and
- 16:02Speaker 6: she's just like sitting back there like a mob boss.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Doesn't talk to anybody.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Right, right, Yeah, you talk to the lieutenants. You don't
- 16:10Speaker 5: get hold of me.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Don't look over the eyes directly.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I wonder the actress wasn't available and in the background.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Oh yeah, maybe maybe maybe, But.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I think it's more of we want to integrate Kirk.
- 16:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that's really what it is. But all right,
- 16:27Speaker 6: well that's all the news stories. It's yeah, and you
- 16:34Speaker 6: and Dan, you're right. They do want to take a
- 16:37Speaker 6: shot at purchasing Warner Brothers. Apparently from Warner Brothers side,
- 16:42Speaker 6: they have been saying that they believe Paramount will come
- 16:45Speaker 6: in with a low ball offer, and so they don't
- 16:49Speaker 6: think it'll be serious. And David Zaslov has said that
- 16:54Speaker 6: he is hoping to spark a bidding war between Amazon, Apple,
- 16:59Speaker 6: and Paramo Mount to get that top top dollar for
- 17:02Speaker 6: Warner Brothers.
- 17:03Speaker 2: And we all know who's gonna win that, the consumers.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Not No feels like when Kmart bought Sears, Like why
- 17:09Speaker 2: is paramount that who's by all accounts been struggling? Right,
- 17:14Speaker 2: you're gonna buy Warner Brothers like well, like.
- 17:17Speaker 6: Any financial an analysts like Dave Ramsey or Caleb Hammer
- 17:21Speaker 6: will tell you if you're broke, just keep spending money.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Eventually exactly, Yes, Dave Ramsey AIG is a big advocate
- 17:29Speaker 1: of that. Maybe getting debt too Paramount, he tells you
- 17:34Speaker 1: to double down, Yeah, borrow a billion dollars.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Basically, David Ellison, the new owner of the sky Dance Paramount,
- 17:45Speaker 6: his dad is a multi multi billionaire, runs and owns Oracle,
- 17:50Speaker 6: so they have unlimited money.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Basically, they'll just do.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Whatever the hell they Ddy can bail them out when
- 17:56Speaker 6: he's daddy can bail them out. So he's got his
- 17:59Speaker 6: place studio and that's neat.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Well, I need to take my blood pressure medication because
- 18:06Speaker 1: I'm sick of Yeah. Star Trek four.
- 18:10Speaker 6: All right, well let's uh, let's get to the main
- 18:12Speaker 6: topic season three at the end of it.
- 18:16Speaker 3: So fun will now come out.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Uh so we're doing civilizations.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Yeah, we're finally here, finally came out, and now it's over.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'm glad it's over. Yeah, Seas was not the greatest
- 18:43Speaker 1: season of Star Trek.
- 18:45Speaker 5: It was a rough watch for sure.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yep.
- 18:48Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I I pointed out. I talked to
- 18:53Speaker 6: other Star Trek podcasts on TikTok and somebody had pointed
- 18:59Speaker 6: out that it felt like all the subscripts were rush
- 19:04Speaker 6: and I said, yeah, that that seems like everything was
- 19:09Speaker 6: a first draft. And then somebody else pointed out the
- 19:13Speaker 6: fact that they wrote these during the strike, So there's
- 19:18Speaker 6: a strong potential these all were first drafts.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess, said.
- 19:25Speaker 6: Yeah, which makes it make a lot more sense why
- 19:29Speaker 6: they're this way. Oh did Dan Freeze?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe he did.
- 19:38Speaker 2: I've got the tagline for this one, the plot summary
- 19:40Speaker 2: if you want to it, and this is from IMDb.
- 19:44Speaker 1: When an ancient evil.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Resurfaces, Pike faces a life altering choice to stop it.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I mean it's not really yeah, kinda, I mean Okay,
- 20:01Speaker 1: let's talk about it.
- 20:03Speaker 2: The the the nurse from the episode three episodes ago
- 20:06Speaker 2: that we already forgot about.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I like the character. He was energetic, he yeah, he
- 20:13Speaker 1: got he got ghosted and turned evil and then they
- 20:15Speaker 1: defeated him and I kind of thought and hope that
- 20:18Speaker 1: was the end of the story.
- 20:21Speaker 2: And then they they brought him back as the big evil,
- 20:25Speaker 2: ancient bad guy.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the best part of this episode. By
- 20:30Speaker 1: the way, Scotty in a kilt in a kilt version
- 20:33Speaker 1: of the Starfleet uniform. I loved it.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Yeah, it was pretty dope.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yep.
- 20:39Speaker 5: I I wish it was.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish it was part of like a real actual,
- 20:44Speaker 1: like I don't know, promotion ceremony or wedding or funeral
- 20:47Speaker 1: or something that would have been great.
- 20:50Speaker 6: What he needed a sword and did you glare himself
- 20:53Speaker 6: the islander.
- 20:54Speaker 1: And and a yeah, set of bagpipes.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Like I thought when I saw the still shot of
- 20:58Speaker 2: this early in season, I thought this was gonna be.
- 21:02Speaker 1: For a memorial service.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 2: And the fact that he just got punked the way
- 21:07Speaker 2: that Ohura got punked in the very first episode. M hm, Okay,
- 21:10Speaker 2: that was funny, you know.
- 21:12Speaker 6: Yeah, I do like that bit. I do like that
- 21:14Speaker 6: they do a little bit of rasing every now and then.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's pretty good. That's good. But what'd you
- 21:22Speaker 1: think of the kilt Dan, Yeah.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I thought it was cute. He got punked the same way.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:32Speaker 4: I feel like though he's not he's been around the
- 21:35Speaker 4: block a couple of times for that.
- 21:38Speaker 5: But yeah, we're good.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's awfully young. I mean, I know, we're unshackled,
- 21:45Speaker 2: and that's a that's a theme that's gonna continue on
- 21:48Speaker 2: through the rest of the series. But we are unshackled
- 21:51Speaker 2: from Cannon. So in this verse, maybe maybe Scottie's a
- 21:54Speaker 2: little bit a wee bit younger, just a wee bit.
- 22:00Speaker 5: I mean, he's not as young as the Star Trek Scouts.
- 22:04Speaker 1: But not quite, not quite.
- 22:08Speaker 3: What is that?
- 22:09Speaker 5: Oh God.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Show?
- 22:15Speaker 6: So yeah it is. It is horrible and amazing on
- 22:20Speaker 6: so many levels.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I I didn't have the I didn't have the opportunity
- 22:25Speaker 2: to see it.
- 22:25Speaker 5: So oh I watched it. I watched it.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I was gonna watch it, but I didn't want to,
- 22:32Speaker 3: so I didn't.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I don't blame you, I don't.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for the same reason. I mean, I haven't
- 22:38Speaker 1: seen all a prodigy either.
- 22:40Speaker 5: That's them right there. It is.
- 22:44Speaker 6: This show, the Star Trek Scouts leaves so many more
- 22:47Speaker 6: questions than answers. Why does the kid have a robot arm?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Why does the robot arm?
- 22:54Speaker 6: Yeah, what a horrible situation happened that the kid has
- 22:57Speaker 6: a robot arm.
- 22:59Speaker 5: The whole m as is.
- 23:01Speaker 6: Giant asteroids are being hurled towards this colony, I guess,
- 23:06Speaker 6: and the kids have to save the colony.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Okay, all right, why are Orge.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Let's let's let's let's give this a little bit. Let's
- 23:15Speaker 2: shine a little bit of light on this. This show
- 23:16Speaker 2: is a Nickelodeon show, and maybe Nick Jr.
- 23:21Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It's geared towards six year old, right.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Yeah, like three four five year old?
- 23:27Speaker 1: Oh okay, okay, So like you know, it's it's like
- 23:32Speaker 1: the dad in in Will Ferrell the Christmas movie. Uh,
- 23:39Speaker 1: it's like he's the publisher of a book company, this
- 23:43Speaker 1: book company, and and the books up and they're like
- 23:46Speaker 1: nobody cares. Yeah, crap, whether the talking it's an ending
- 23:51Speaker 1: or not, nobody cares. I'm sure that's thinking they make it.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And I'm sure you know this this smellx Kirtsman.
- 24:00Speaker 5: To give you an idea since you guys didn't watch it.
- 24:03Speaker 6: The kids realize on their sensors that a giant meatball
- 24:07Speaker 6: meteor is being hurled to the planet. So then the
- 24:11Speaker 6: kids pray to the audience and say, what do we do?
- 24:15Speaker 6: They show up four images. There's a Romulan rubber ducky.
- 24:20Speaker 6: There's a fork, it's two other things.
- 24:25Speaker 5: The kids don't.
- 24:25Speaker 6: Hear the deity us as we yell back and say,
- 24:30Speaker 6: get that goddamn fork going olds right, So they hit
- 24:37Speaker 6: the ducky. The ducky does nothing to the to the meatballs, right,
- 24:43Speaker 6: and in their final moments they shoot out the fork
- 24:47Speaker 6: and all as well.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Heck yeah, heck yeah.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So it's it's it's it's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with Star
- 24:58Speaker 2: Trek characters.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Hey well, unjackled from Cannon Baby, Hell yeah, hell yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Star Drink Scouts is the only canon I recognize now Asteroids.
- 25:13Speaker 5: That's right, me.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I can't wait till the live action crossover with Strange
- 25:17Speaker 1: New Worlds for this one.
- 25:18Speaker 6: Oh god, yes, god, I wish the Lower Decks was
- 25:21Speaker 6: still around. Rip apart Start Drink Scouts.
- 25:26Speaker 2: I would just like to point something out yeah, you
- 25:28Speaker 2: know that a season finale was bad. Yeah, and we
- 25:33Speaker 2: have spent more time discussing the Nickelodeon show.
- 25:39Speaker 6: Oh, you wouldn't know something crazier about that Star Drik Scouts.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Sure.
- 25:43Speaker 6: Uh, the Secret ride Out has nothing to do with it.
- 25:47Speaker 5: It has It's Kurtzman has nothing to do with it.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Kurtsman has nothing to do with it.
- 25:51Speaker 5: It's all Nickelodeon.
- 25:53Speaker 1: So you can so you can make crazy bad Star
- 25:55Speaker 1: Trek without Kurtzman. That's right, you don't know, Okay, okay,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I mean to be fair to this show. I I I.
- 26:04Speaker 2: You know, you can't really make fun of this show.
- 26:06Speaker 2: It'd be like making making fun of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Right,
- 26:09Speaker 2: it's just a kid It's just a kids show.
- 26:11Speaker 1: It's for designed for for four year olds, bright colors,
- 26:15Speaker 1: that just meatball, meteors and forks, and you know that's
- 26:18Speaker 1: that's cool. I dig it.
- 26:19Speaker 6: I'd like if you overthink it, it's horrifying, like why
- 26:23Speaker 6: does the kid have a robot arm?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Yeah? But other than that, yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Do you do you want to go through I'm I
- 26:33Speaker 2: didn't take enough blood pressure medication?
- 26:35Speaker 1: Would can you go for the episode?
- 26:38Speaker 6: So basically, what happens is what's his name, Gamble has returned.
- 26:45Speaker 5: He's an evil. He's evil.
- 26:47Speaker 6: He's got the demon inside of him, and the demon
- 26:51Speaker 6: wants to unlock all his other demon friends space demons,
- 26:55Speaker 6: and so, uh so to do that, they have to
- 26:58Speaker 6: go to this one planet where there's a magic box.
- 27:02Speaker 6: The box will unlock I don't know, a portal or
- 27:05Speaker 6: some I don't know. I didn't really pay attention. And
- 27:09Speaker 6: uh and so they got to go open that, and
- 27:12Speaker 6: and and Gamble is gonna release his friends. And then
- 27:15Speaker 6: it ends up that Captain Girlfriend somehow realizes, oh, I've
- 27:20Speaker 6: got these magic powers to stop to stop Gamble.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Captain Lizard Augment magic Lily Girlfriend, that's right, that's right.
- 27:29Speaker 6: Because of the Gordon DNA and her human DNA, and
- 27:34Speaker 6: they threw in another another species.
- 27:37Speaker 7: Well she's got the yeah, okay, and so because of
- 27:43Speaker 7: all that, she's the magic she saved by, right, So because.
- 27:48Speaker 6: Of all that, she's got the best of all the species,
- 27:52Speaker 6: and so she's uniquely qualified to fight the space demons.
- 27:58Speaker 1: She's the hulk and endgame.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Right, She's a human, she's a human voltronk.
- 28:04Speaker 5: She's a human coming together. That's right. That's right, that's right.
- 28:10Speaker 5: She even lights she yes, it will.
- 28:14Speaker 6: She is the one, She is the one, and uh,
- 28:18Speaker 6: she lights up and she glows, and so she's got
- 28:22Speaker 6: to go fight gamble with her jazz hands.
- 28:26Speaker 1: With her jazz hands, that's all she got. She's got
- 28:31Speaker 1: glow of the Dark hands. There is no fight, by
- 28:33Speaker 1: the way, there's no fight in the fight. They just
- 28:36Speaker 1: got glowy.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Right before that, if I'm interpreting this correctly, she took
- 28:42Speaker 4: a minute to uh snatch Captain Pike and transport him
- 28:47Speaker 4: through time in space back to nineteen ninety two so
- 28:51Speaker 4: that he could experience the TNG episode the Inner Light firsthand.
- 28:57Speaker 5: That right, that's right, that what happened. Yes, so they
- 29:00Speaker 5: have a whole relationship in about three seconds.
- 29:03Speaker 2: I was hoping we wouldn't skip over that because that's
- 29:05Speaker 2: a big f and deal. That's a big thing for
- 29:08Speaker 2: them to do. Yeah, reach real ours regitereration.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Well it was full of the episode.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, let's can we talk about that for a second. So, yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 2: they do this whole Inner Light thing where she has
- 29:23Speaker 2: the power apparently, and she takes Captain Pike and they
- 29:29Speaker 2: they Captain Picard and and and Miles O'Brien him. Yeah, both,
- 29:35Speaker 2: you know, Miles O'Brien had a whole lifetime in prison,
- 29:38Speaker 2: and Picard and the inter light and they they.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Have a life together.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Presumably Pike comes out of this with decades of additional
- 29:46Speaker 2: memories of them having children and grandchildren and growing up
- 29:52Speaker 2: and having a.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Career and and and all this and it all.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Happens within the span of a few seconds for them.
- 29:59Speaker 2: So this, this does something. And I and I thought
- 30:04Speaker 2: this with Picard and O'Brien, these are much more dynamic
- 30:09Speaker 2: characters now. They have so much more substance now because
- 30:12Speaker 2: they're now in their minds. They have one hundred years
- 30:16Speaker 2: worth of experience in the body of a fifty year old, right, Okay,
- 30:21Speaker 2: And I hope they keep I hope they touch.
- 30:23Speaker 1: On this later on.
- 30:25Speaker 5: I promise you they won't.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Well, Mike is now wiser, he's older, he's got the
- 30:29Speaker 2: command experience now of a of a fleet admiral in
- 30:32Speaker 2: his brain. They can't ignore this, but they're going to
- 30:35Speaker 2: You're right, they're going.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Yeah, they will.
- 30:38Speaker 3: So here's here's the problem. Though. I said something a
- 30:42Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago, I said, uh.
- 30:44Speaker 4: That I I had a feeling that since they're unshackled
- 30:48Speaker 4: from Cannon and they're going to rewrite his his story
- 30:53Speaker 4: and he's not going to get in the accident, and
- 30:55Speaker 4: he's not going to uh be deformed, and he's not
- 30:58Speaker 4: going to end up being taken back to Tallos to
- 31:03Speaker 4: live out his life, to live out a peaceful life
- 31:06Speaker 4: in his mind. Due to their illusion powers, they can't
- 31:11Speaker 4: do that at this point because if they take if
- 31:15Speaker 4: they take him back to Tallos in whatever, I don't
- 31:17Speaker 4: know how many years does he have left supposedly, I
- 31:20Speaker 4: don't remember.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I don't know comewhere between three and ten.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah, the fantasy life that we saw him live out
- 31:33Speaker 4: in that episode, that would not his choice. His choice
- 31:37Speaker 4: would be to go back to that life that we
- 31:42Speaker 4: watched in this episode. I mean, if you had a
- 31:45Speaker 4: if you had a wife and a kid and a
- 31:48Speaker 4: family and grandchildren and this whole thing and it was
- 31:53Speaker 4: ripped away from you the way it was, and you
- 31:55Speaker 4: were given an opportunity to.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Experienced joy again, I mean, would you would you pick that?
- 32:03Speaker 4: Or would you pick the lady that you met in
- 32:06Speaker 4: that episode who it doesn't make any sense.
- 32:09Speaker 1: That doesn't make any sense.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Unshackled unshackled, baby, you're just gonna And.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I'm okay with him not going doing that that timeline.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I'm okay with him not doing the original series timeline
- 32:23Speaker 1: if they explained it away in a way that makes sense.
- 32:27Speaker 6: I just keep thinking from the very beginning when when
- 32:31Speaker 6: they took over for Star Trek, they just should have said,
- 32:34Speaker 6: this is a whole new universe. We're you gonna do
- 32:37Speaker 6: what we want yep, and a lot of these problems,
- 32:40Speaker 6: would you know, they might be goofy and weird, but
- 32:43Speaker 6: we wouldn't care as much.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I think the reason why they did did not do
- 32:47Speaker 2: that is they still wanted to connect it some way
- 32:49Speaker 2: to the other shows.
- 32:51Speaker 6: Well, they wanted the audience to care, so that's why
- 32:54Speaker 6: they said they were like, if it's they wanted us
- 32:57Speaker 6: to think it's prime timeline, so that that way we
- 33:00Speaker 6: would invest and watch the shows right Whereas if they
- 33:04Speaker 6: said it's a brand new universe, a lot of trickys
- 33:06Speaker 6: may have just bounced right off right then and there.
- 33:09Speaker 2: They said it doesn't matter, right, which should matter because
- 33:13Speaker 2: it would be good storylines if it was good storylines.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Exactly, which also tells me they didn't have the confidence
- 33:19Speaker 6: even then right, so that's that's not good.
- 33:24Speaker 2: But I mean we had a great first season, a
- 33:29Speaker 2: pretty good second season, yeah, and sort of a really mediocre,
- 33:33Speaker 2: disappointing third season.
- 33:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Oh I wonder.
- 33:39Speaker 6: Oh so Captain Girlfriend, she basically becomes Captain Lizard Augment
- 33:43Speaker 6: Magic Lily girlfriend. Right, she becomes the light up glowing
- 33:49Speaker 6: I don't know, warden to now stand watch over the
- 33:54Speaker 6: space demons after capturing them all, and she's trapped in
- 33:59Speaker 6: that in that prison on that planet where she has
- 34:04Speaker 6: to just make sure they don't escape, and that's her
- 34:08Speaker 6: job from now on.
- 34:09Speaker 5: Ye hanging out, she's the sorceress in castle.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah, they'll do enough.
- 34:20Speaker 4: She just hasn't turn into a bird to do it.
- 34:23Speaker 4: See Captain Girlfriend, come visit him as a pigeon or something.
- 34:28Speaker 5: God, I hope, so I hope she shows up as
- 34:31Speaker 5: a pigeon.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm the only one too. She's
- 34:35Speaker 2: starting to grow on me a little bit. I'm starting
- 34:37Speaker 2: to like, Yeah, I don't know if it's because she's
- 34:40Speaker 2: been forced down our throats or if it's because, like
- 34:43Speaker 2: I'm starting to get invested in the character. Oh watch
- 34:47Speaker 2: that shot of uh, let's be careful that shot of
- 34:50Speaker 2: Scotty with the kilt and the legs. Yeah, careful there,
- 34:53Speaker 2: let's let's watch that cameras In the background.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Scott is contributing to his only fans.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Because you know, traditionally they don't wear anything under those kilts.
- 35:08Speaker 6: You're gonna pay a little little two ninety nine a
- 35:10Speaker 6: month to see what's under that skill.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I don't think he's got the Starfleet issue unders.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Under there, well don't you. Yeah. Hey, let's okay, let's
- 35:23Speaker 1: go back to focusing on.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Scotty. Your delta's showing.
- 35:28Speaker 8: Oh no, all it comes back to the d It
- 35:36Speaker 8: all comes back to the d always, baby always.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Oh So how did this episode end?
- 35:46Speaker 5: Uh?
- 35:46Speaker 6: They get a map from Corby because Korby's going to
- 35:50Speaker 6: stay on the planet where the magic Box was. He
- 35:52Speaker 6: wants to study that civilization, and he somehow has a
- 35:57Speaker 6: map that he got somewhere that it's a ton of
- 36:01Speaker 6: uncharted planets and they figure out that it's at least
- 36:07Speaker 6: five years worth of new planets to explore.
- 36:10Speaker 5: Huh yeah, weird.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Right, So he gets a Sith wayfinder.
- 36:14Speaker 2: He gets and he's able to he's gonna give it
- 36:17Speaker 2: to Starfleet and they're gonna put Captain Kirk in charge
- 36:20Speaker 2: of the Enterprise and have the first.
- 36:25Speaker 6: I mean, they could just say that the five year
- 36:26Speaker 6: mission began with Bike and then Kirk had to take over.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Well, wasn't okay, If I'm not mistaken, the original series
- 36:32Speaker 2: five year mission was the second five.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Year mission of The Enterprise.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Oh could be that?
- 36:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think if I'm not somebody googled me right
- 36:40Speaker 2: in the chat, I think that the Kirk's original series
- 36:45Speaker 2: five year mission was the second five year mission of
- 36:47Speaker 2: the Okay, so we don't have Okay, So we've got
- 36:54Speaker 2: two more seasons left, and they've been talking online about
- 36:57Speaker 2: having to do a time jump to catch up to
- 36:59Speaker 2: the first episode of the original series. So maybe they're
- 37:03Speaker 2: going to go through this five year mission in the
- 37:04Speaker 2: next two seasons.
- 37:06Speaker 6: Yeah, Awoll says felt more like a serious finale than
- 37:09Speaker 6: the season Finally, I thought so too, honestly.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so did I.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Yeah, And they wrote it as a serious finale just
- 37:19Speaker 2: in case, because by the time they wrote this, it
- 37:23Speaker 2: wasn't season.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Four and five already greenlit.
- 37:28Speaker 5: I don't know, Well, I was.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Gonna bring this up later, but I'll bring it up now.
- 37:32Speaker 6: Season four has already been shot. They shot it between
- 37:36Speaker 6: February and July of this year, right, that's.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Why we've already seen stills of the Muppets.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Yeah, why wait for feedback and know what your audience
- 37:45Speaker 6: wants when you can just plow one through ahead.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Well, they might accidentally force gump their way into a
- 37:51Speaker 2: good season.
- 37:52Speaker 6: I mean maybe they'll maybe they'll strike gold and you
- 37:54Speaker 6: know they'll become better.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Like I said, I can't wait for the crossover.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Oh yeah, let's do the thing.
- 38:06Speaker 5: I do the predictions.
- 38:07Speaker 3: No, I want to do the thing I want.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I want each of us to say one thing that
- 38:11Speaker 4: they actually enjoyed about this.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Oh yeah, it's it's.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I love the flashback scene or the I love the
- 38:20Speaker 2: interlight I love I love the interlight scene.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I love that they did that for Bike.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Despite what Pike has in store from whether he dies
- 38:28Speaker 2: or wheelchair or to losion or whatever, he got to
- 38:31Speaker 2: live out a fulfilling life, you know, with family and
- 38:36Speaker 2: career and all that.
- 38:37Speaker 1: I really, I really enjoyed that. So how about you guys?
- 38:42Speaker 1: What did you guys like?
- 38:44Speaker 5: Uh? I like the Gamble character.
- 38:46Speaker 6: I think he's an interesting original character in villain that's
- 38:50Speaker 6: just pure evil, which is a thing that they've done
- 38:53Speaker 6: in Star Trek before. The whole idea has always been,
- 38:57Speaker 6: you know, nobody is pure evil, nobody's pure good, right.
- 39:01Speaker 6: It's just it's interesting they went that route. I don't
- 39:06Speaker 6: know if it's good for the franchise, but whatever it's,
- 39:10Speaker 6: it's they're trying new stuff. I also like his sonic
- 39:14Speaker 6: the Hedgehog rings there on his jacket. That's pretty cool.
- 39:19Speaker 6: So like, if you hit.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Him, do they just shoot out? And I'd love to
- 39:23Speaker 5: know that.
- 39:26Speaker 1: But yeah, I.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Liked no, No, who's there, bad guy?
- 39:46Speaker 4: I I like the idea that.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Kirk and Spock had this mind meld that took place
- 39:58Speaker 3: You're years before or t O S.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Because when I watched when I watched to S and
- 40:06Speaker 4: I see I see Spock and Kirk interacting with each other.
- 40:10Speaker 4: For years, I always thought to myself, why are these
- 40:12Speaker 4: Why are these dudes friends? Why does you know their
- 40:16Speaker 4: polar opposites of each other. Spock absolutely considers himself superior
- 40:25Speaker 4: to Captain Kirk in every way, but at the same
- 40:30Speaker 4: time has this deep respect for him that I think
- 40:36Speaker 4: was more than just respecting the rank. And it just
- 40:40Speaker 4: never made it just never made sense. To me, why
- 40:42Speaker 4: are these two? You know, I used to look at
- 40:45Speaker 4: the trio of Kirkspoch and McCoy and I would and
- 40:49Speaker 4: I used to think to myself, you know, Kirk and McCoy,
- 40:52Speaker 4: I get it, Kirk and Spock doesn't make any sense.
- 40:57Speaker 4: But don't get Kirk says out outright insulting and racist
- 41:02Speaker 4: things to him all the time. And and Spock's cool
- 41:06Speaker 4: with it. Why why is the sky cool with it?
- 41:09Speaker 4: Because they're bros from back in the day, with this
- 41:11Speaker 4: deep connection. They've been inside each other's heads. They know
- 41:16Speaker 4: things about each other that no one else does. They
- 41:19Speaker 4: keep each other's secrets. It just it was I think
- 41:22Speaker 4: it was a clever way to explain away that that problem.
- 41:27Speaker 6: Will points out that and Dagger of the Mind was
- 41:29Speaker 6: supposed to be the first time spock mind melded with
- 41:32Speaker 6: the human. Uh, you will, brother, you must unshackle yourself
- 41:38Speaker 6: from canon.
- 41:39Speaker 5: There's only one canon.
- 41:41Speaker 2: There's only one The original series episode. Yeah, ninth episode
- 41:48Speaker 2: of the first season.
- 41:52Speaker 3: It was the ninth episode of the first season.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I'm looking this up on Wikipedia.
- 41:59Speaker 5: Dan, should I play it? He's gonna go this far
- 42:01Speaker 5: down the rabbit hole.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I won't hear it, but go ahead play.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Yeah, warning, warning, nerd alert, nerd alert.
- 42:11Speaker 2: We need to have stickers made. My wife has been
- 42:13Speaker 2: asking for stickers for a while.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Have stickers made. And the nerd alert needs to be
- 42:19Speaker 1: a sticker or a patch or something.
- 42:21Speaker 5: It needs to be one.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yes, So get get on that with with your connections,
- 42:26Speaker 2: let's start.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Let's start selling stickers, and with anybody in the chat.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Anybody in chat, would you be interested in buying stickers
- 42:31Speaker 1: Trak Cass stickers, Uh, you know, Star Trek stickers. Whatever.
- 42:34Speaker 1: We cannot get sued over.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Max. Do you think they'll bring bones in the next season.
- 42:43Speaker 2: I think they're waiting on certain characters for the last
- 42:46Speaker 2: episode of the last season.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Well they've also said though that they're not going to
- 42:50Speaker 5: bring them all over.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Right until the I think the last episode of the
- 42:56Speaker 2: last season is going to be the first episode of
- 42:58Speaker 2: Star Trek original theories.
- 43:01Speaker 5: All right, so it's possible.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Eventually, Can I can I add something to your comp
- 43:07Speaker 2: And I know we got to get onto the predictions,
- 43:09Speaker 2: but the one, the thing that Dan liked led into
- 43:12Speaker 2: the thing that I didn't like, which I love that. Yeah,
- 43:15Speaker 2: they mind melded and that was great and it was
- 43:17Speaker 2: a nice scene, and they mind the reason they mine
- 43:19Speaker 2: melded was asinine, completely ridiculous, absolutely ludicrous and and and
- 43:25Speaker 2: other words that I can't think of right now.
- 43:29Speaker 5: Was it ludicrous? And Biggie Smalls, Yes, it was okay.
- 43:33Speaker 1: They had to mind meld so they could fly the
- 43:35Speaker 1: ship and sink so they could fire their phasers at
- 43:39Speaker 1: the same time.
- 43:41Speaker 5: Yeah, the same place.
- 43:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that that's insane.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much like they just did it to do it,
- 43:54Speaker 1: Like twelve year olds wrote this script. Come on, I'm
- 43:58Speaker 1: telling you, man, I don't have any trongs aliens about it.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I just I just wanted to point that out.
- 44:02Speaker 5: It's all first drafts.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Where is the blood pressure?
- 44:08Speaker 6: This season was written with a big good enough on
- 44:13Speaker 6: every approval.
- 44:15Speaker 2: They just wanted them to have a mind meld and
- 44:17Speaker 2: they didn't care why, and the and the the Kurtzman
- 44:20Speaker 2: was like, to the writers, just figure out a reason.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I don't care why, just make what happened.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Was like, you're gonna do the finale and the Enterprise
- 44:27Speaker 6: doesn't shoot anything, all right, we got to figure out
- 44:31Speaker 6: a reason to at least fire the lasers and the boss.
- 44:35Speaker 3: The Boss wants the ship to shoot something. All right, Well,
- 44:38Speaker 3: I want the boss to be happy. We're gonna get
- 44:40Speaker 3: two ships to shoot the same thing.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Boom boom.
- 44:45Speaker 2: The phasers on a starship are orders of magnitude larger
- 44:52Speaker 2: and more. They are continue they they're shooting at the
- 45:01Speaker 2: small doorway.
- 45:02Speaker 7: Who fat, sarcastic Star Trek fan, you must be a
- 45:06Speaker 7: devil with the ladies.
- 45:09Speaker 1: You didn't hear that, dad, No, but that was great.
- 45:13Speaker 5: It's the sound effect that I have.
- 45:15Speaker 6: It says, WHOA a fat, sarcastic Star Trek fan, You
- 45:19Speaker 6: must be a devil with the ladies.
- 45:23Speaker 3: You know.
- 45:24Speaker 2: It's It's like when I go to a convention and
- 45:25Speaker 2: I go up to ask a question and I say, Hi,
- 45:27Speaker 2: my name is God and I'm actually the co host
- 45:30Speaker 2: of the Star Trek podcast Trek Cast, And then I
- 45:33Speaker 2: look around the audience and I say, I'm sorry, ladies,
- 45:36Speaker 2: I'm already married. And then I look down and I
- 45:38Speaker 2: get my wife a wink and it usually gets a laugh.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Nice.
- 45:43Speaker 2: That's right, that's right, everybody in the audience. I'm the
- 45:46Speaker 2: co host of a Star Trek podcast.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Uh.
- 45:51Speaker 1: But yeah. The phaser thing.
- 45:52Speaker 2: When when ship phasers should not I mean, they were
- 45:58Speaker 2: like within feet of the face hitting the doorway. That
- 46:01Speaker 2: should kill everybody within, you know, a ninety three foot
- 46:05Speaker 2: radius or or a thirty meter radius.
- 46:08Speaker 1: It really should. It should the heat alone.
- 46:13Speaker 3: I mean, Scott did the math on it, and the
- 46:16Speaker 3: math the math was mathing.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Meanwhile, the vast majority of the characters had nothing to do.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's another thing I don't like.
- 46:27Speaker 2: I think a good show, a good finale is when
- 46:30Speaker 2: all the characters are involved, maybe not equally, but they
- 46:34Speaker 2: all have something to do.
- 46:37Speaker 5: I mean, you set up a lot of stuff with
- 46:39Speaker 5: the Gordon that didn't really pay.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Off, a lot of stuff with the Gorn. Yeah. Yeah,
- 46:46Speaker 1: maybe that nothing really matters.
- 46:49Speaker 5: No, No, all right, should we get to our predictions.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well let's do that.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 46:58Speaker 6: Yeah, let's let's get there. Okay, So we do have
- 47:02Speaker 6: to kind of hash out a couple of them before
- 47:04Speaker 6: we declare winners. Uh, first one, we have to hash
- 47:09Speaker 6: out this season was better than the last one.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Okay, and then from one, uh, it's going to be fun.
- 47:20Speaker 1: It wasn't.
- 47:22Speaker 5: I feel like there were fun moments, but overall, no, there.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Were fun moments in the worst TV series ever too.
- 47:28Speaker 1: But you know, okay, just.
- 47:32Speaker 3: You know, I'm on a phone, so I can't read
- 47:34Speaker 3: what's on the screen.
- 47:36Speaker 5: I'll read them to you, all right.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Yeah, if you could tell it, tell me the results.
- 47:39Speaker 5: Okay.
- 47:41Speaker 6: Yeah, we only got a few to go through, so
- 47:42Speaker 6: we'll go through these. Okay, First one, this season is
- 47:46Speaker 6: better than the last. We all said no, but the
- 47:49Speaker 6: original predictions were okay, Scott said better than the last.
- 47:53Speaker 5: It was likely.
- 47:54Speaker 6: Magic a Ball also said it would be likely that
- 47:56Speaker 6: it would be better than the last. Only myself and
- 47:59Speaker 6: Dan were saying unlikely. So we got that one right, Dan,
- 48:02Speaker 6: you and I the Tokyo's got it. Then one said
- 48:07Speaker 6: it's going to be fun. We all, all of us,
- 48:11Speaker 6: including the Magic a Ball, said it would be likely fun.
- 48:14Speaker 6: We were deadly wrong, so yeah, I didn't.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Next is the.
- 48:22Speaker 6: Gordon problem will be fixed quickly? Scott, Dan and myself
- 48:26Speaker 6: and the Magic a Ball all said likely.
- 48:29Speaker 5: I kind of think the answer is not really correct.
- 48:32Speaker 2: They did the Gorn throughout a little bit. Yeah, The
- 48:35Speaker 2: third to last episode was about a gorn or. The
- 48:38Speaker 2: second to last episode was about a Gorn.
- 48:41Speaker 5: A main character dies this season.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Scott and the Magic a Ball said unlikely and whereas
- 48:49Speaker 6: Dan and myself said, for sure, someone's gonna go h
- 48:53Speaker 6: So Scott and the Magic a Ball were correct.
- 48:58Speaker 5: Next, there's a cling on episode.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Scott and Dan both said that was likely to happen,
- 49:04Speaker 6: whereas myself and the Magic eight Ball did not believe
- 49:07Speaker 6: there would be kling on episode. So myself and the
- 49:09Speaker 6: Magic eight Ball were completely wrong. There was a third
- 49:13Speaker 6: zombie kling on episode. The third episode.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, I forgot that.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Yeah, it was such.
- 49:22Speaker 4: A great episode that sixty six percent of the host
- 49:25Speaker 4: of treck cast forgotten to have forgot.
- 49:27Speaker 5: About it exactly exactly. The episode where everyone turns into
- 49:32Speaker 5: a volcan is our favorite.
- 49:34Speaker 2: I called this early on, and I've been promoting my
- 49:37Speaker 2: viewpoints ever since.
- 49:39Speaker 6: Like Babe Ruth calling his shot. Scott was like, no way, noll,
- 49:42Speaker 6: am I gonna like this trash? Nope, Whereas Dan, myself
- 49:47Speaker 6: and the Magic a Ball we're all like, oh, it'll
- 49:49Speaker 6: be fun, we likely will enjoy this. We did not,
- 49:53Speaker 6: So only Scott got it right. I think Scott's winning
- 49:56Speaker 6: so far, but the most particular yeah uh. And then
- 50:00Speaker 6: there's no cliffhanger ending for this season. I mean, that's
- 50:05Speaker 6: arguable they've got.
- 50:06Speaker 1: The lap What part of it was a cliffhanger like
- 50:10Speaker 1: we have episode That's kind of.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Where I leaned on it too. Yeah, but here's the thing.
- 50:18Speaker 6: Scott, Dan and myself all said it was unlikely that
- 50:23Speaker 6: there would be no cliffhanger, meaning that there would be
- 50:25Speaker 6: a cliffhanger. Only the Magic eight Ball first saw this
- 50:30Speaker 6: series of events and knew that we would not have
- 50:33Speaker 6: a cliffhanger.
- 50:34Speaker 5: So the Magic eight Ball wins on that one.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Did you fight you on this next one?
- 50:40Speaker 6: There's a Star Trek Academy easter egg this one, I
- 50:45Speaker 6: think I don't think they it's an easter egg. Although
- 50:50Speaker 6: Pike does mention in the last episode during the Interlight
- 50:54Speaker 6: Seria series that he's going to go teach at the Academy,
- 50:58Speaker 6: or he's supposed to go there to visit something like that,
- 51:01Speaker 6: he doesn't.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I canume exactly.
- 51:04Speaker 2: I think we can assume it's the Academy in this timeline, right,
- 51:09Speaker 2: that that'd be like, you know, I don't know.
- 51:10Speaker 1: I don't know if there's an equivalent. I can't think
- 51:12Speaker 1: of a Yeah, they're not talking about thirty first century.
- 51:16Speaker 5: Oh no, I agree with you.
- 51:18Speaker 6: Yeah, so I don't But it is still the Starfleet
- 51:22Speaker 6: Academy period, right right.
- 51:24Speaker 1: They did say Starfleet Academy, right, I mean.
- 51:28Speaker 5: Yeah, So is there an East Egg?
- 51:30Speaker 6: Scott said unlikely, whereas Dan, myself, and the Magic gay
- 51:35Speaker 6: Ball all thought there would be an Easter egg because
- 51:37Speaker 6: they cannot help themselves. But Scott Scott got it right,
- 51:42Speaker 6: they did help themselves.
- 51:43Speaker 5: There was no Easter egg. All right.
- 51:46Speaker 6: This one is a little potentially contingents. Scotty becomes the
- 51:50Speaker 6: chief engineer because he did feel the role for an episode,
- 51:55Speaker 6: but he wasn't.
- 51:56Speaker 5: The chief engineer.
- 51:58Speaker 1: I'm going to say I was wrong on this, Okay,
- 52:01Speaker 1: I don't think Yeah.
- 52:03Speaker 6: So Scott and Dan both thought, and the Magic a
- 52:06Speaker 6: Ball all thought he would likely become chief engineer.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Was still there, so yeah, I mean he filled the role.
- 52:14Speaker 6: But that's like filling in for your boss, you know,
- 52:18Speaker 6: I said unlikely. Okay, sidebock returns. Only myself and the
- 52:24Speaker 6: Magic Able thought this would happen, whereas Dan and Scott
- 52:27Speaker 6: were both like, yeah, that ain't happening.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:31Speaker 6: And then from Steve Wilson, too much comedy, not enough
- 52:35Speaker 6: space drama. This dude called it from the very beginning
- 52:39Speaker 6: absolutely uh, whereas Scott and Dan thought there's no way they.
- 52:44Speaker 5: Would do such a horrible thing. They're gonna do, it's
- 52:49Speaker 5: gonna beat Yeah.
- 52:51Speaker 6: So Scott and Dan were very wrong myself in the
- 52:54Speaker 6: Magic gate Ball we know what's up. We said this
- 52:57Speaker 6: is gonna be trash and we were right. But I
- 53:00Speaker 6: think it's got the winner.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Yea, Hey show him what he's one, Daniel. I have
- 53:07Speaker 1: no idea what you want, but I'll take a nerd alert.
- 53:10Speaker 1: I'll take a second nerd alert.
- 53:12Speaker 6: The nerd alert, all right, warning warning, nerd alert, nerd alert.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Yeah, all right.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I'd like to thank Alex Kurtzman for being predictable.
- 53:27Speaker 6: I'll send you a LinkedIn Star Trek Scouts.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that's my prize.
- 53:33Speaker 5: That's your prize. Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 6: So why don't we get into listener feedback and uh
- 53:41Speaker 6: and we'll go from there.
- 53:44Speaker 5: Listener feedback.
- 53:47Speaker 6: And people can x up in the chat if they
- 53:50Speaker 6: want to join us. We do have listener feedback on
- 53:54Speaker 6: the episode on our Facebook group. Let's see, should I
- 54:01Speaker 6: bring that up?
- 54:04Speaker 1: Yeah? I have an email too, So oh okay, I'll
- 54:07Speaker 1: just go through this real quick.
- 54:09Speaker 6: Blake said, there were some good thoughts in there, but
- 54:13Speaker 6: some of the writing, especially the Technical Bible seemed kind
- 54:16Speaker 6: of lazy, very inner light type episode. So overall that
- 54:23Speaker 6: seems to be the sentiment that the show was very
- 54:30Speaker 6: just kind of mid, not horrible but not great, just
- 54:33Speaker 6: just mid. Yeah you want to read your your your email?
- 54:40Speaker 1: Sure?
- 54:41Speaker 2: This one is from Tim Hi Scott the Strong Beard,
- 54:44Speaker 2: also Dan Medium Beard and Daniel l Ombrace and Barbara.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah, okay.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Honorable mention the Chaz business. Tim again, but I'm not
- 54:55Speaker 2: the Tim one from England who calls in. I'm a
- 54:57Speaker 2: different Tim, the one in Australia. I think you guys
- 55:00Speaker 2: mix us up a couple of times. That could be
- 55:02Speaker 2: hoping we're not having a two Vicks Thomas Ryker moment. Anyways,
- 55:05Speaker 2: I thought to give you a few thoughts on the
- 55:06Speaker 2: new Star Trek.
- 55:07Speaker 5: Are in Australia next to England.
- 55:09Speaker 1: I thought they were within each other.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought i'd give you some thoughts on the
- 55:13Speaker 2: New Star Trek. Audio drama that's currently being serialized as
- 55:19Speaker 2: a podcast is based on what happened after Kirk left
- 55:21Speaker 2: the crew of the s S Botany Bay on City
- 55:23Speaker 2: f five and before the Wrath of Khan, using the
- 55:26Speaker 2: plot device of going back to get crew logs and
- 55:28Speaker 2: listening to them dramatized versions from the.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Episode, he says he actually enjoyed it. If only live
- 55:35Speaker 1: Star Trek was written.
- 55:36Speaker 2: This well, he says, we might have more people enjoying
- 55:39Speaker 2: Trek and not being constantly disappointed like Dan. Great to
- 55:42Speaker 2: hear Sulu and Tuvok back again. Hearing them both in
- 55:45Speaker 2: character reminded me of the Voyage episode where we saw
- 55:47Speaker 2: Tubac on the acceleustrator as part of the thirtieth anniversary
- 55:50Speaker 2: of Star Trek. Tim Roth and George de Kay weren't
- 55:52Speaker 2: the major focus, which was good. Too often they bring
- 55:54Speaker 2: back the legacy characters make it all about them. The
- 55:57Speaker 2: voice actor playing Khan was convincing and wasn't trying to
- 55:59Speaker 2: do an impersonation of Ricardo montybaand some interesting characters in
- 56:03Speaker 2: the first episode. Great writing, great voice cast, and I'm
- 56:05Speaker 2: looking forward to the next episode. Even with Alex Kurtzman involvement,
- 56:09Speaker 2: it appears they've done great. Although I did notice the
- 56:11Speaker 2: credits there's more producers, directors, and writers than voice actors.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Thanks for taking the time to read my email, Tim
- 56:17Speaker 2: liotis lamb aka Doggreen. Thanks Tim, great email.
- 56:24Speaker 1: We appreciate that Yeah, I I listened to the.
- 56:26Speaker 2: First episode of Star Trek Con and I liked it.
- 56:31Speaker 1: I liked the premise of them going.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Back to get the crew logs so that this historian
- 56:37Speaker 2: can uh sort of you know, get a complete account
- 56:42Speaker 2: of what happened. And it's the first episode was good,
- 56:45Speaker 2: So keep those emails coming in. You can email us
- 56:47Speaker 2: at trek Cast t NG at gmail dot com, or
- 56:51Speaker 2: like what Tim did, he emailed me directly Strongbeard one
- 56:54Speaker 2: seven o one at gmail dot com.
- 56:57Speaker 6: And we should probably let people know since there's a
- 57:00Speaker 6: natural spot. So next week we we're gonna take off,
- 57:03Speaker 6: but then the week after that we'll come back and
- 57:05Speaker 6: we're gonna review Star Trek Con in thoroughly. So at
- 57:09Speaker 6: that point there should be three episodes out, so that'll
- 57:12Speaker 6: give us a better view of to what they're doing.
- 57:15Speaker 2: So and okay, I'd also like to take the opportunity
- 57:19Speaker 2: to say that next in November, I will be going
- 57:24Speaker 2: November twenty second through the twenty third, I will be
- 57:28Speaker 2: going to Star Trek Chicago. And like I said that,
- 57:33Speaker 2: in November twenty second and twenty third, I've been in
- 57:36Speaker 2: contact with their people. There is a an amazing lineup.
- 57:41Speaker 2: If anybody's gonna be in the Chicago area in November.
- 57:45Speaker 1: They've got a ton of actors there.
- 57:49Speaker 2: They're going to be there. Brent Spiner's going to be there.
- 57:54Speaker 2: A who is going to be there, Christina Chung is
- 57:57Speaker 2: going to be there, Doug Jones, Gates mcfadd and Jerry
- 58:02Speaker 2: Ryan just now Visitor just to name a few. A
- 58:08Speaker 2: fantastic lineup. So I'm gonna go there representing Trek Cast
- 58:12Speaker 2: and if anybody else is going.
- 58:15Speaker 1: To be there.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Have you ever been to Chicago.
- 58:17Speaker 2: I've been to Chicago once and I met up with
- 58:20Speaker 2: some some podcasters there, so yeah, that's actually a cast
- 58:25Speaker 2: Chicago in twenty twenty two is actually the first time
- 58:28Speaker 2: I met up with you guys for the first time
- 58:29Speaker 2: was the show and we had a fantastic time.
- 58:34Speaker 1: That was amazing.
- 58:35Speaker 2: So I'd like to do something similar. If anybody's listening
- 58:38Speaker 2: to the show, you want to meet up in Chicago,
- 58:41Speaker 2: probably that Saturday, let me know, we'll do a meet up.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Oh great, Yeah, that's great.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, like they're gonna put on one ell of
- 58:51Speaker 1: a show.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, for sure. We also got Chas Biz on
- 58:55Speaker 6: the line, so let me bring him in there. He is,
- 59:00Speaker 6: there's jazz biz.
- 59:04Speaker 3: That's right. Cornhole you need.
- 59:09Speaker 9: Say, everybody I know plays cornhole. Let's see, Dan, Like,
- 59:13Speaker 9: what the hell's cornhole?
- 59:14Speaker 1: I build cornhole boards? It's right, ladies, that's right.
- 59:19Speaker 9: Sorry, ned alert one nerd alert with chart cast on
- 59:23Speaker 9: there if you build them.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's a good idea. Maybe trek casting corn
- 59:28Speaker 1: hole boards that'd be cool. Yeah, and all your.
- 59:31Speaker 9: Backs could be like nerd alert and all the other
- 59:34Speaker 9: phrases chat is are.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Wrong And I like it. I like it.
- 59:39Speaker 5: So would you think of the episode? Uh?
- 59:42Speaker 9: Man, it took me three days to watch it.
- 59:48Speaker 5: I started wanting to save that flavor. Huh.
- 59:51Speaker 9: I was like, okay, so they bring back the one
- 59:54Speaker 9: nurse and he has no eyes to go to the
- 59:57Speaker 9: planet and all the people like, you know, jam sticks
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: in their eyes and you're like, what is going on here?
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: We're gonna have to rename the show to truck Bash.
- 1:00:09Speaker 9: Well, I don't know this, or they could make a
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: couple of good episodes.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: How dare Let's be realistic, Dan, It was like.
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: We waited two years for ten episodes for this. Sorry, yeah,
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: I don't.
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: I don't feel like it was worth the wait.
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: No, no, it was it, especially if you're paying a
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: monthly subscription free Star Trek. Oh yeah, Paramount Mounts. Yeah,
- 1:00:35Speaker 9: you have a right to voice your opinion now right.
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: Oh yeah, absolutely, so you have the right to voice
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: your opinion because before that it was free. You can
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: watch it anywhere, you can watch on BBC continually, and
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: now you watch it, you're just like, it just pisses
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: you off.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's pretty sad when this thing that we
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: love so much is pissing us off.
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: Yes, welcome to my my love of wrestling.
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: Yep, it's but we're in the down years, so can
- 1:01:11Speaker 9: we come back? Let's hope. I don't know if Academy
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: is gonna rescue us from this time.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: Maybe I'm not.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I'm going to reserve judgment for for Academy.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna watch tell.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: I'll tell you who's gonna rescue us.
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: That's the Scouts. The Scouts, the only can that matters.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Now, you know what they should have like a special
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: part of Star Trek Academy. They should be like, hey,
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: you know how they used to try to get into
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Red Squad. Maybe now it's gonna be like the Scouts.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: If an Academy. They've got like a wall like these
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: kids saved us.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: From I think dance checked out.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: That'd be amazing if they do it. O't give what
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: Academy does. I love it.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Has anybody seen the leaked footage of Academy?
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: No?
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Okay, so I've seen and I don't think it's AI,
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: but I've seen some what I think is leaked footage
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: of Academy that includes the holographic doctor. It's a scene
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: where the crew, some lower level like lower deckers, need
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: authorization to do this, to make the computer do this thing,
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: but they don't have authorization to do it in order
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: to save the ship, and so the EMH. They bring
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: the EMH online and it's Robert Riccardo and he's like,
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: what's you know, I'm a doctor, not a blah blah,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: and we need your authorization. Why didn't you say that
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: at the beginning, And he does his authorization and they're
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: able to save the ship. Like it's a eject the
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: core type situation.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Okay, okay, very short. It looks like it was.
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: It looks like it was shot from a phone that
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: was looking at a TV screw like maybe.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: A monitor kind of thing. So yeah, it looks, you.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Know, and you couldn't get a clear view of the doctor,
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: like they were shooting him from kind of weird angles,
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: so you couldn't.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Tell if they had cg I hid him.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: Young or if they just he just looks like Paccardo now.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: And I think they're gonna explain that away, you know,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: in sort of a data like way. So that'll be
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I can't wait to do the prediction show for for
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: for Academy.
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: That's I'll see the excitement on Dan's day.
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: I'm trying to pull up.
- 1:03:30Speaker 6: I did a poll on the Instagram account what did
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: you think of Stranger in the World Season three, and
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: the options were loved it, it was mid, or it
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: was not for me. Not for me only got seven percent.
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: Loved it only got thirty, whereas it was mid.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: The votes yeah, like a Bell curve. It's mediocre, not horrible.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I mean, I you know, I watched it every week,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: and there was there was two or three what I
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: would call.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Good good episode, you know, yeah, or at least parts
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: of episodes that I liked.
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: Max.
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: I hope next season is better, buddy, Uh, we hope.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: So without feedback, so we'll see what happens.
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: Let's I think you guys ought to have a review
- 1:04:18Speaker 9: episode of best season finales and they bring them all.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: That's a good idea.
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: I'm gonna all the tricks like go through which one
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: had the best season finales?
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: Yeah, well it's gonna it's gonna be the.
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: Because this was definitely season two of Next Gen where
- 1:04:38Speaker 9: the writer strike happened, messed it all up. They were
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: delayed comes out and it just didn't land.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Well, so yeah, they didn't have it. I don't know.
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: It's like doctor Girlfriend. It is like she turns it
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: too a damn statue again.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Blizard augment Magic Lily Girlfriend.
- 1:04:58Speaker 9: Yeah, with like Chloe eye. This is like somebody loved
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: Isa's episode. This eyes turned like this crazy color and
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: she's like, I'm all right, I'm like.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: What's her actual name?
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: Bettell?
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: But tell okay, what's her first name?
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: Karen?
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: I don't know, Karen Hot, Captain doctor Marie.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Marie Buttellttel Okay, Captain Lizard Augmented Magic Lily, girlford Betel and.
- 1:05:30Speaker 9: How many times, well, on account how many times Kirk
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: has been on this ship this season.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Like I said, there's a meme going around like falling
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: you know, why is Kirk, but get off my ship?
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Why is Kirk got by ship? His brother lives there,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: but he never seems to be there to visit.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: His brother except maybe wait.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Yes, it reminds me of like the Next Generation movies,
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: where each time that wharf comes back on the ship
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: that the excuses get lamer and lamor where I like, here,
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: can you help us with this?
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: I think screen time wise, Kirk has more screen time
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: hours on the Enterprise than the brother that's supposed to
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: be stationed there.
- 1:06:15Speaker 9: Oh, yeah, he has more, I think Pike, Yeah, Walter Face,
- 1:06:23Speaker 9: Rebecca Romain.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: At least yeah, because.
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: Really, she hasn't had many lines this season. No, you
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: didn't focus on her much, and.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: I really like your character. Yeah, I think she's the
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: great first officer. I think she's a great character.
- 1:06:38Speaker 9: They focused more on Lawn and oh.
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: The nurse Chapel, so I'm still convinced they're gonna kill her.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: Dagas at the end.
- 1:06:50Speaker 9: Had had the best episode this season.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: She had ready to die.
- 1:06:56Speaker 9: Yeah, she had the best episode, and.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: They gave her character development over the last couple of years.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: A little bit of PTSD.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: A little bit of Gorn, Yeah, a little bit of
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I'm the pilot. I fly the ship.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: And yeah, I think they're gonna send her off by
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: piloting an a shuttle or a ship or something.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: And that's how she's gonna go.
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: They're gonna jet z or her.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: See, she's gonna have her in the in the words
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: of my generation, up yours moment.
- 1:07:21Speaker 9: And and and doctor and Bega's gonna get fired for malpractice.
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: So I think Doctor and Vega, I bet you they
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: reunite him with his daughter somehow.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: He'll get to go live in that.
- 1:07:33Speaker 9: Seventeen years old one.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: People keeps saying, well, I think he's gonna die. Maybe
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: he won't die. He's in the original series. Doctor Vega
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: is in the original series. Okay, yeah, so I don't
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: think you're kill them off. I know they're un shackled
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: from Cannon, but I think they.
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: Have whatever the hell they want.
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: Maybe, you know, will they bring back Bones next season?
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I think that's gonna be season five.
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: Yeah, season five will be bones, and I.
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: I really don't think they're going to get a spin
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: off of this show.
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: And you know why, they'll call them bones because you'll
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: have the arm of a kling on a woven child.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: That's why they'll call them bones.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Scout.
- 1:08:17Speaker 9: I want the explanation of that. I didn't realize the
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: kid had a robot arm the picture.
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: The more you watch the show, the more horrifying it becomes.
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: Why are the kids left alone? Why do they have
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: a magic kid?
- 1:08:29Speaker 9: Like, yeah, where are their parents?
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, it's just one.
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: Of babies or something. Their kids and their parents are
- 1:08:39Speaker 9: star flet officers and they're playing like their start fleet officers,
- 1:08:43Speaker 9: imagining what it would be like.
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: What what starters get to the critical eye? It'll ruin it?
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: I what I'm looking at Dad, And even though he's
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: wearing sunglasses, I can I can see the look in
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: his eyes. He's just even if, even if we don't
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: do a show about it, I think maybe just give
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: me a call.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Phe Let's have a.
- 1:09:07Speaker 9: Really Dan's hanging up under the sunglasses. His eyes are
- 1:09:11Speaker 9: all puffy right now.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, tears.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: He's emotional about it. Yep, oh, season stayed quiet.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: He's not said, he's just disappointed.
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: He's like, how am I going to clean out the
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: garage today? He's complaining, like what he's going to do today?
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: Just like.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: There you go there, all right, Well, I smell bacon, guys.
- 1:09:43Speaker 9: So yeah, I smelled toes coming from the neighbor's house.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Ye, smell bacon.
- 1:09:49Speaker 9: Guy's kind of go to the neighbors.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: My wife's making bacon.
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: So okay, Well, so next week we're not here. The
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: week after we'll be back and we're gonna review start Con.

- 1:10:27Speaker 5: listen to it in real time.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Listen to it in real time.
- 1:10:29Speaker 9: It's horrible.
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: And two X speed, yes, because I've listened to all
- 1:10:33Speaker 6: my podcast in two X speed.
