- 0:21We always think of personal development as adding stuff.
- 0:25Stacking up new achievements, starting a massive morning routine,
- 0:30downloading another productivity app...
- 0:32it is always about more.
- 0:34Right, right.
- 0:36We treat our minds like a construction site.
- 0:39But what if the real work is actually demolition?
- 0:42Like peeling back the layers instead of adding more?
- 0:46Demolition.
- 0:47I love that.
- 0:48Because we carry around all this extra baggage, social expectations,
- 0:53old narratives, fear, and we think we need to build a fortress over it.
- 0:58But the whole philosophy of PTT Music is really about stripping all that away to
- 1:03find the core.
- 1:05It is, but stripping it away can be psychologically terrifying for some people,
- 1:09Jordan.
- 1:10It is painful because many people get so attached to their struggles.
- 1:15They literally cling to uncomfortable situations just because they are familiar.
- 1:20They choose the safety of known discomfort over the vulnerability of genuine change.
- 1:27Yes!
- 1:28The familiar discomfort.
- 1:31Many would rather stay in a rut they know than step into the unknown.
- 1:36They hold onto old versions of themselves like security blankets,
- 1:40even when they are suffocating them.
- 1:42It is so true.
- 1:44I actually had this moment recently, listening to the PTT Music track,
- 1:48I Found You.
- 1:50It is this incredibly raw, stripped down song.
- 1:53Just simple instrumentation and a pure vocal, with no massive production or heavy
- 1:59electronic layers.
- 2:00And it just bypassed everything.
- 2:03My logical brain, my defenses, all those layers I build up to convince myself I am
- 2:09fine.
- 2:10I Found You.
- 2:12The name itself is the perfect metaphor for this subtraction process,
- 2:17isn't it?
- 2:18Sometimes we have to silence the noise of what the world expects us to be just to
- 2:23finally find the truth.
- 2:26What did listening to that track make you realize about yourself?
- 2:29It made me realize I was performing.
- 2:32I was chasing a creative path that was not mine, just because it looked good to
- 2:37other people.
- 2:38The music just cut right through the noise.
- 2:41It was like an emotional tuning fork, aligning me back to what actually matters.
- 2:48That is the power of sound.
- 2:51It finds the resonance.
- 2:53And that is where things like elastic resilience and adapting to change come in.
- 2:58They are not armor we put on to fight the world.
- 3:01They are tools to keep us flexible.
- 3:03So we can bend, let the noise slide off, and let our true selves emerge without
- 3:09breaking under external pressure.
- 3:12So, okay, how do we practically do this?
- 3:15How do we practice subtraction and alignment every day?
- 3:19Because it is a daily practice.
- 3:21It really is.
- 3:22And the first step is what we can call the first hour sound audit.
- 3:27Ten to fifteen minutes right when you wake up.
- 3:30Ten to fifteen minutes.
- 3:32No emails?
- 3:34No immediate scrolling?
- 3:35Absolutely no scrolling.
- 3:38Instead of flooding your brain with external panic, you put on a specific,
- 3:43rhythm driven track.
- 3:44Something that grounds your nervous system.
- 3:47You start your day proactive, not reactive.
- 3:51A sound audit.
- 3:52I love that.
- 3:54The second one is a weekly friction check in.
- 3:57At the end of every week, you look at one specific setback or moment of self doubt.
- 4:03And you ask yourself: did I bend like an elastic band, or did I resist and crack?
- 4:09Ooh, the elastic band question.
- 4:12That is powerful.
- 4:13Because cracking means we are resisting reality.
- 4:17Bending means we adapt and keep our integrity.
- 4:21Exactly.
- 4:22It is about monitoring your adaptability so you do not burn out.
- 4:27And the third step is an evening purpose alignment prompt.
- 4:31Just one question before you sleep: did my choices today reflect my core values,
- 4:37or was I performing for someone else's approval?
- 4:40Performing for approval.
- 4:42That is the ultimate layer we have to subtract.
- 4:46When you ask that, you bridge the gap between who you are and what you did today.
- 4:52It makes growth a series of tiny, daily micro decisions.
- 4:57It really does.
- 4:59This isn't a one time fix, Ava.
- 5:01It's a continuous soundtrack we choose to play in our lives to keep us aligned.
- 5:06Exactly.
